Hanger Steak Kushiyaki- The hanger steak itself is well-seasoned and simple. Paired with the dipping sauce, it becomes a completely different meal, the pieces of meat turn into cubes of flavor that are perfectly accented by the sauce. Teba Gyoza-I really enjoyed this. It’s incredibly unique. They stuff gyoza mix inside of a chicken wing before frying it up. It creates such a unique flavor, I would highly recommend.

He carried himself with the charm of Vanna White and the confident if rascally flirtatiousness of a court jester who secretly doubles as the monarch... The bar was accentuated by lights placed strategically to help move the eye up through the several shelves. My friend started with a delicious sparkling Vouvray Brut from Domaine du Petit (? forgot) that came in a gorgeous coupe. It was chilled and delicious but I swear the coupe they poured it in also enhanced the experience because of its elegance. I ordered the painkiller, which was wonderfully frothy and having been shaken with ice, garnished with a piece of fresh pineapple, and sprinkled with a dusting of no nonsense nutmeg. We ordered the Ikura Onirigi for each of us -- which was as delicious as I remembered! Don't kill yourself, it's so good you really won't want to share. We also ordered the Japanese sweet potato which came smothered in a miso sauce. If you don't like salty ask for it on the side, it allows you to enjoy the sauce without feeling like the potato loses itself. The garlic steamed broccoli with black pepper was very on point and disappeared quickly. The miso butter shiitake mushroom caps were a favorite for my friend as was the spicy tuna poke. What I loved about that dish was the balance of avocado chunks and minced green onion. But it does really have a kick so be prepared… Perhaps my favorite dish was the agadashi tofu -- if I'm honest I always judge a Japanese restaurant by this signature appetizer. I had ordered it on my first Meiji: It was delicious then and it was delicious tonight. Highly recommend. My friend ran into another singer while we were there, and we made friends with our bar mates readily bc it was a friendly bar, with Jean creating a conversational culture of engagement. Super cool experience the second time here, too. Looking forward to returning again.

I was not disappointed. I got the brisket. The brisket was so tender I could barely touch it with a plastic fork and bit basically melted off the main piece. Easily the best brisket I've ever had. My wife got the cumin spiced pulled pork sandwich. We didn't notice the part on the menu that mentioned the cumin spice when we ordered, so we were both surprised by the flavor, but in the best possible way. The cumin and other seasonings give it a nice little taco place that plays insanely well with their bbq sauce. We split the taters gratinadas. They were cheesy, Smokey, and the crema on top had a nice had a nice little spicy kick in some bites. I enjoyed the cornbread muffin. The whipped honey butter is magical. The muffin itself is good, but stood out the least of anything we had. I can't say they're the best bbq in the area because I haven't tried every other place that does it. But I will say, I can't imagine anyone else doing it better. Update as of 10/22/2025: If you've not heard, they're doing some breakfast food a few days each week during the early part of the day. Got down yesterday to try it for the first time. My wife and I both got the Mr. 107 tacos (brisket, crispy cheese, verde salsa, cilantro, fried egg, homemade beef tallow flour tortillas) and one of the sweet & spicy breakfast sausages. All of it was great. On my way out, the owner ran out of the cart to ask how we liked it, and was kind enough to hook me up with a half serving of the biscuits and gravy (scratch made beef tallow drop biscuits). I've gotten to know the owner a bit over the at few months - he's an awesome guy who just wants to make great food for his customers. It's all top-notch and worth checking out. I usually make my own smoked meats but was delivering wine next door and stopped in and the owner Isaiah was friendly, knowledgeable and just a genuine person which isnt as common as it use to be. Both of the folks that were working when I was there were extremely nice and enthusiastic about the food. Being my first time there, I asked them to recommend something to me and they proceeded to tell me that they make their own curry in house which is rare. I chose to get the curry noodles with chicken and it was really really good. Eugene has quite a few good Thai places and I have eaten at all of them. I asked what they recommended and ended up with a tlayuda, which is like a giant tostada on a homemade tortilla. I went with pollo and although I usually prefer shredded meat this chicken was cooked perfectly and had no weird cartilage bits.
