I'm usually so lazy that I just appreciate food and go, but this place is so amazingly bad it made me sit down in the burger king beside it and write a long drawn out description about how I wasted space in my stomach. Here is what we ordered, 1. Honey chilli chicken 2. Butter chicken full 3. Garlic naan 4. Butter naan 5. Malai kofta 1. Honey chilli chicken : decently good, a tad too sweet but okay for a sensitive palate. 2. Butter chicken full: here is where the disappointment begins. The first bite was literally not felt, it was so bland that even though I had an open cut and ate with my hands it still didn't burn, the 130rs water they provided has more flavour than the 900rs butter chicken. If there was any butter in that butter chicken, i pray for that cow imagining how undernourished it must have been. The gravy was so dull so bland that the only thing appropriate with the gravy was how it looked. The chef must have been an artist cause the only thing good with the curry is the amount of food colour. I can go on about the curry, but the remaining dishes are shittier, so let me describe them too. 3. Garlic naan and butter naan: this became so hard so rubbery so fast that this may be a viable material for riding gear. The butter on the butter naan is as useful as an umbrella in a hurricane, it's there but does no shit. The only reason I still had appetite was because I burnt so many calories eating it. 4. Malai kofta: now coming to the end, the one thing I hoped , prayed will be better, atleast edible. After eating it I wish for only one thing, I hope the restaurant can afford a new grinder with the 3k i paid cause they didn't grind the spices they added in the malai kofta, every bite felt like Russian roulette waiting for some new type of flavour to hit. Overall if you wish to let go of some money, the look the begger gives when you give them 10rs gives you more satisfaction than eating for 3k here. We had more fun making fun of the food than eating the food. I praise the chef for making me lose interest in food and helping me achieve my weight goals. If you read till here, thank you !

Loved the ambience. We stayed at the Hotel for 2 days and one of the days ended up booking here for dinner. It is supposed to be romantic place but we went with kids and staff was gracious enough to accommodate us there. I had vegetarian Thali and my husband had non-vegetarian thali. Thali experience was great because we were able to try little bit of everything. My absolute favorite was Lahore Dum Aloo. I could eat 10 bowls of it. Soy chop was also Delightful. Every dish on place was made with love and I can tell it may have taken hours to create. Music was absolutely the best. The restaurant is elevated and they have a nice transperent lift for it. entrance is very nice with gatekeeper welcoming you. Restaurant has warmly atmosphere with dim yellow light. Its a pure vegetarian restaurant. Though they serve many cousine but south indian dishes are their core. Prices are higher than the market price may be about 1.5x or 2x times. Idli was good served with 2portion of white chutney, one portion of sambhar, small container of pure ghee and gun powder. Just Amazing Presentation. Cream of Tomato soup was okayish. I felt the milk based ingredient proportion was bit higher in it. But may be it was needed to make cream flavour. It was served with two large bread sticks and butter. The best decision we made was to have their Paneer ki sabji with Laccha parota meal. In the entire menu that was something which justified the price and quantity. Overall good place to visit once but you have to make ordering decision wisely. Dosa here are too expensive and portion/quantity is okayish. Since I spent good time at this restaurant, I strongly wish to point out with my observation that the new Manager (Jav bir/Om bir) is good for customers but very harsh on the restaurant staff. He is like a live wire on the field. Only scolding the staff each time they crossover. The staff and middle level representative are polite and sincere in their work, Mr. JayVir/Ombir, please be gentle with them otherwise it will be a bad sign for resturant.

They are famous for their Mughali food especially their daal Bukhara. We went during lunch time and it was relatively fine not to busy or quiet. We had their grills and daal with naans . It was fine I didn’t understand the HYpe of the food. I would them slightly uptight as my child wasn’t feeling well and requested if we could have yellow daal with rice. They initally refused and said we don’t have yellow daal in the menu so I asked if they could bring from the other restaurant as they suggest it available outside. They weren’t happy and said outside food not allowed. On speaking to their manager they a made him daal and he had with naan. I wouldn’t rule out restaurant but would like to try again to enjoy the experience again

We expected some authentic dishes being such an old restaurant. The Delhi butter chicken was really bad. It tasted only tangy and there were no tint of sweetness in it. The courses were not balanced at all. Starters served with bread/ roti and were limited options to choose from. The main course had small portions but desert was bigger in portion. There were no chicken biryani available to my surprise. The risotto, Falooda, Paneer butter masala, Crab dish, Fish and chips, Mutton rara were just average. I Visited Taj Bano for a Sunday brunch and the variety was insane to say the least. With ITC Hotels WeAssure initiative there was assurance of safe dining experience. The management is ensuring less or minimal contact between the staff and guests, Savlon hand sanitizer kept on all tables, all the crockery & cutlery are sanitized and prepacked so that there is no touchpoint between 2 people. Our second lunch was Express Wok which is a proper meal in box known as bento-box which comes in both veg and non veg versions. Let us decode the box for you. The Vegetarian Box had Olive Fried Rice, Asian Spring Rolls (made of rice sheets and glass noodles), Stir fried Asian Greens, Okra Chilli Bean (so unique!) and Date Pancake while the Non-Vegetarian box had Kung Pao Chicken, Governors Chicken, Soy Ginger Fish, Veg Hakka Noodles and Date Pancakes. All the dishes were so yum! We loved the concept of the Bento Box which had everything from starters to main course to desserts. Dinner was about Awadhi treat where we tried different delicacies like Hara Bhara Kebab, Murgh Kali Mirch Kebab, Subz Zafrani Shorba, Subz Miloni, Jannat-e-Numa, Dal Makhani, Maki Sarson, Gosht Awadhi Biryani and more. For desserts we had Shahi Tukda and Shahed-e-Jam. The meal was rich, authentic and flavourful and we all enjoyed it a lot. The menu was especially curated for us by Chef Ashmit Bhattacharya and Chef Kavitha Unni. A perfect meal and a perfect end! We also had a chatpata time at the hotel. ITC Mughal ensured we don’t go back without tasting the yummiest Agra ki Chaat. Over the evening they organized a special chaat time and treated us with not just one or two specialities but with 5 yummiest chaats made in house which we relished in the confines of ITC Mughal. From Jalebi Chaat to Pakodi Chaat, Papdi Chaat, Dahi Bhalla Chaat, Motia Makai Chaat…we enjoyed our lip smacking chatpata time with these yummiest chaats. Breakfast was about Zesty Mornings. At the buffet what was interesting was that there was a glass shield against every food item and no guest was allowed to take the food. Food was being served by servers wearing gloves and mask. The extensive menu included vada, idli, upma, parathas (paneer, matar and aloo) and much more. There was also a live counter where hot Dosas and Uttapams were being made fresh and served with all the 3 chutneys- peanut, tomato, mint & coriander. ITC Hotels have a concept known as ‘Local Love’ under which local dishes from the city is served everyday. We tried Bedmi Puri from the Local Love menu and absolutely enjoyed it. The array of beverages included fruit juice, milk, coffee, chai etc. We met Chef Philip who specializes in South Indian cuisine. One counter which I always check out while at a breakfast buffet is Omlettes and to my delight there were fresh and live omlettes in the making and were served with a choice of white and brown bread. For desserts, there were muffins in many varieties, waffles, pancakes, cinnamon Danish pastry and many more. We enjoyed our breakfast and the lovely spread of desserts too.

He had read excellent reviews for Taj Bano and since it was walking distance from our hotel we decided to head there for dinner, my husband, our two daughters (5 and 7 years old), and I. When we arrived, the buffet service was in full swing. We weren’t interested in the buffet. We specifically wanted to order à la carte, and we informed the hostess of that as soon as we walked in. She acknowledged it and said it would be a few minutes, which was perfectly fine. But what happened next was completely baffling. The hostess led us to a table for four that was still covered with dirty plates, used napkins, and leftover food from the previous guests. It was an absolute mess. I couldn’t understand why anyone would seat a family, especially with two young children, at a table that hadn't even been cleared. My daughters kept asking why the table was so dirty, and I honestly didn’t know what to tell them. Considering that we had 2 kids (1 infant & 1 toddler) we wanted a couch seating and looking at the weather these days it was not feasible to go for the later option as it was hot and sultry. We decided to finally walk out. On our way out we met the owner and seeing us leave he asked us to stay while he make arrangements in his restaurant which he did coz of which we had an amazing evening with good ambience, food and performance by Ashutosh Dhiman was outstanding. There are very few people that i have seen who take so much of an effort to accommodate their customers and go out of their way to make them comfortable (especially if the effort has been taken by an owner). Btw in appetizers, we ordered Crispy Cornteni In Black Bean Sauce which was yum and each kernel of corn was crispy to perfection. In Main course, we ordered Chicken Shashlik sizzler( sufficient for 2 ppl) which was tasty too but some how i felt that the gravy was not much in it according to the rice. Garhwali Dal Tadka and Garlic Naan and it was absolutely lip smacking👅 All and all a nice experience for starters. Unfortunately, couldn't take any pictures as the kids kept me super busy 😣 Looking forward for many more visits in future 🤗
