Took a bit to get seated. Several filled tables. Server efficiently took our order but kinda went missing for ice tea and water refills. Food was good to great. We got the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer. Husband loved it but it was so garlicky I couldn’t eat it. If you are garlic intolerant, skip this dish! My shrimp remoulade stuffed avocado salad was fantastic. Didn’t know the bread was garlic bread, lol! Husband’s 1/2 muffuletta sandwich was as good as always. We arrived around 6pm a busy time we did have a 20 min wait. Once inside the lighting is dark sitting is a bit tight. I ordered a quarter of the muffuletta, a side of jambalaya and red beans and rice. The muffuletta is different from the central grocery in the sandwich is warm and bread is toasted. So if you’re looking for a warm muffuletta this is the place to try it, if you prefer cold and deli style central grocery is for you. The jambalaya, delicious I’m no expert but I enjoyed their version. The red beans and rice, it was ok, not a wow for me. This was similar to beans in Mexican burritos or dishes. We were able to go last night and it was absolutely wonderful, the staff were all very friendly and very attentive. The drinks came quickly once our order was put in even though the bar had many other patrons, and they were delicious and strong. We ordered the navy grog and the porch light to begin as those are our standard drink orders in our tiki bar at home and we were very pleased with the Latitude 29 versions! A lively Irish Pub with a great atmosphere. Due to the New Orleans summer heat I refrained from ordering my usual pint of Guinness. Instead we both opted for their iconic Frozen Irish Coffee. It was divine. At $4 it is also represented great value for money. We opted to add the whisky shot top up which added $10 each. Despite the additional cost I would definitely recommend adding it! I really like this bar even if I've only been twice. First time I popped in, they were having a dance party and the DJ was doing a good job spinning. It was pretty packed since it's a small little place. But I thought it was really cool that the bingo was free and they still gave out prizes. Basic bar, with seemingly familiar to the place 'bar flys' as I know this is a frequent stop during Mardi Gras Festivities. We had a group of 19 for dinner and everyone loved the atmosphere and food. If I’m being totally honest, the food to me was OK but not the best I’ve ever had.
