The Chip (as it's known) is a sister business to Stravaigin (another favourite of ours) and it's recently reopened after a bit of a refurbishment. There are various spaces to enjoy including a pub and bar as well as a large multi level restaurant area. The vaulted glass cieling area is a mix of brick, iron and big green plants. It's softened by interesting artwork, especially the stairway to the bathroom. Staff are always attentive, casual in approach but knowledgable. The atmosphere is always buzzing and the crowd tends to be very local. We enjoyed torched makeral and pigeon to start. Followed by sea trout and venison. To finish our meal, the desserts (chocolate delice and fig & custard) were the highlight. Highly recommend this Ashton Lane stalwart.

There on Saturday 4.1.25. food ok but the Pappardella not up to much. The glazed beef the meat did taste nice but the sauce ruined it so much so we called for the bill very quickly. I was feeling awful so did not check the bill the waiter asked me to check but my fault I desperately wanted home. I offered a tip and he said it's ok you have already paid. I normative 10% we'll always do. However when I got home they had taken £7.13, 12.5%tip and £1 for their chosen charity. I am outraged at this. We thought it was an Italian restaurant and so it will have Italian dishes along with good service and well dressed staff. But in reality it was totally opposite. The menu was very different and barely had any Italian touch and dishes. We went on Sunday and they had a set menu which was not really an English menu nor Italian. Atmosphere was posh with a candle lit on every table but some of the staff were in shorts which I find very unusual. We ordered vegetarian pasta which was tasty and different. On this occassion it was with our family to celebrate my wife and I ruby anniversary. Everything was perfect from as soon as we went through the door. We had a corner table which was ideal for our party. The food was delicious. The crab ravioli was probably the best I have tasted. The service was great too with our server going through the menu dish by dish explaining what each dish was. And, of course to compliment our delicious food with some very tasty wine, the Pecorino is highly recommended. We won't leave it so long until we visit again.

Everything tasted fresh and delicious. We chose the specials of the day. First was the duck confit tagliatelle with tomato sauce - the duck was tender and perfectly spiced, and baby tomatoes were delicate, juicy, and didn’t overwhelm the duck. Always super busy so we decided to come at 3 pm on a Saturday. They told us 49 min wait but we only waited about 30 mins. There are a lot of people inside and they seat two groups at the bigger tables so it does get a little squishy. It is also VERY loud. Kinda hard to talk and hear each other. But they serve the food so fast and there’s a super quick rotation. We got the #4, #7, #8. All were delicious and al dente which was nice! And you can see everything get made right in front of you! All the pastas tasted incredible and I would definitely go back to try different ones. The only thing is it seemed like everything was a money grab. You get charged (on certain dishes) to add cheese, you get charged for sauce on ice cream (vanilla ice cream is already £4!). The only thing on the menu really is pasta. Was expecting some kind of starters but they only have a few side dishes which are really expensive for what they are. Now I know the place is a pasta place, and they do the pasta well, it just felt like I needed a little more. One small plate of pasta was good but complimentary bread or some starter plates on the menu would have been nice. But if you’re just looking for a little plate of pasta, would def recommend. But I don’t think this is a good place for like a gathering, or bday party, or first date- it’s just too loud, you can’t reserve tables, and people are sat at your table.

Service was really polite and kind. I recommend everyone give the goat's cheese custard starter a try. The coley was superb, and the cavatelli pasta had the perfect mouthfeel. The crispy potatoes were a standout, some of the best I’ve ever had, especially with the unreal curry leaf mayo. Was unsure how I'd feel dining at one large table with others, however as the night went on this eased and you realise you're dining with other's who have a real passion for good food which adds to the enjoyment. I'm not a huge fan of seafood, and the winter menu we got was heavy on seafood, however the way the chefs infused flavours totally changed my perception of seafood. I'd be writing an essay if I had to go through each dish but the best for me was dessert - the Crown Prince Pumpkin was unbelievable. I've no idea how pumpkin was created into a sorbet which tasted like apricot, but it was simply stunning. Glasgow restaurant scene is so good and there's a raft of small plate/tasting menu places, however Fallachan has nailed being different doing this on a large shared chefs table with an open kitchen, really sets them apart for a different experience. I look forward to booking again to see what a summer or autumn menu is like.

The venue was so unusual but really works, was a little worried to start with sitting at one big table with other diners but was really good fun meeting other people and sharing the wonderful experience. The food was out of this world, so many flavours and textures. I loved every one of the dishes on the taster menu and so did the other four people in my party. Is so interesting watching the chef's doing their magic and they explained everything in great detail. They put their heart and soul into every dish. All the staff are fantastic and so knowledgeable about everything from the food to the drinks to accompany the dishes. So much going on, it was mind blowing. The flavour and presentation was flawless. The service was exceptional. Loved the short conversation with chef before service. The waiting staff talked enthusiastically and you were kept well informed all the time. Cocktails were spot on with flavours we hadn't tried before. They were very much part of the experience. This is often overlooked in fine dining restaurants. The communal table was, in our experience, not ideal. We were sat between two rather odd couples. They didn't really make an effort with the vibe of what is expected in that setting. A gentleman sat beside me, who was smoking at least between every course, would come back to the table and blow his last mouthful of smoke across towards me. I really have no idea what he thought he was playing at. With a north American accent he constantly spoke quite loudly how Edinburgh would be better than Glasgow!!! Intimate and unique dining experience and the food was of exceptional quality. Every course showcasing amazing Scottish produce, incredible flavours and cooking and presentation of the absolute highest standard. Every course that came we thought we had found a new favourite of the night but they seemed to just keep getting better. The service was second to none all evening, the staff where friendly, warm and just made everyone feel so comfortable and at ease. It was a 215pm booking and the restaurant was pretty empty. The staff were ok, but setting the standards low but when we got seated the chap was keen to walk away and we just about got drinks from him. He did come back with the drinks pretty quick but rushed off right away. Starters we got prawns and then scallops. Both dishes were nice. For mains we got the fish and I got gelecian fillet Med rare. The fish was nice and best part no bones. The steak was pretty decent for the price. It was seared very very nice. As it was my birthday meal the restaurant did give a card. Nice touch. If your reading this far your see why I dropped 2 stars on food. For the price the prawns was a good size but the scallops were really small. I should drop 2 stars we had a stone in the lentils and typically I ended up crunching down and chipped a filling. I did show the staff they said sorry and gave us a free dessert. Not 2 but one. Drinks was a reason I added a food star as they were really reasonable in price. Not a typical rip off with restaurants these days I’m not sure I would return. But would say this place is worth a shot

A lovely restaurant in a nice intimate setting. Courteous and attentive staff, quality decor, great setting. Food was out quickly and of high quality. We had chateaubriand, Scottish sirloin and gallacia fillet. All were cooked well and sides and starters with generous portions. Semi open kitchen which looked immaculate, along with rest of restaurant. One minor point is there was one diner with nut allergy as per booking which was not addressed by staff. I made a reservation to try their new space-themed, tasting menu. The moment I walked in I was greeted with kindness and warmth. Showed up late, to meet my parents who had already started eating and they were able to catch me up seamlessly while delivering some coffee and aperitifs as well. Floor manager, servers and cooks were all on point to get me scran and wine pronto! Food was a great blend of flavours, ranging from frothy tatties, to mushrooms painted in spices and even a splash of caviar. If you are looking for variety and a taste of everything this is an affordable way to go. Even the coffee was nice! The wine / cocktail pairings are a must. There was a specific wine that came with the mushrooms which tasted earthy and completely unlike any of the other glasses. Fair dooz to the sommelier. The bill came to around £93 per head, which was an absolute steal for the quality of the service, the flavours on the plates and the lovely atmosphere they’ve cultivated in the room. The food was brilliant, like an art. The flavours were perfect. Unfortunately we weren't served out pairing wine when the meal came out and were almost finished the meal before they came. Food was very tasty, i had a steak baquette and hubby had a burger, only one small issue, hubby had side order of garlic mushrooms but said they were not as warm as he would like, he said they were delicious and he ate the lot, portion for 2 I might add. I had side order of caulifour in cheese sauce and it was excellent, I dipped my chips and bread in, it was so tasty. Dessert was Cheesecake for hubby, nothing for me because my eyes are bigger than my belly and I was stuffed. Food appears to be freshly cooked so time between courses is longer, which i was grateful for. Parking was a bit of an issue, it's expensive, I used the ring go app and used the extend feature because we didn't pay for long enough. Will be back to try Sunday lunch.

To start we got some spiced onions and popadoms (obvs) and also chicken pakora and some cauliflower pakora which was a special. All of this was soooo delicious. We went for Channa Daal, Aloo Gobi, rice, chapati, raita, and salad. We also got a garlic chilli chicken and some extra rice. Dispute being crowded, there was no wait to sit, and the waitress was friendly and provided great recommendations. To start, I got the gin fizz, which had a great citrus flavor. I think a Sunday roast elsewhere is absolutely ruined for me because the one I tried here almost had me in tears it was so good. I’ve been to a lot of restaurants around the world and I’ve hardly ever found one that has such a well thought out menu. Every single aspect of every dish is intentional, something you can tell with every bite. Not only was the Sunday roast fantastic but I also shared half with my boyfriend, so we could try both the roast and their steak and oh my word, it was a revelation. The steak was seasoned to perfection. I normally don’t eat steak as cooked through as this one was but it was just so tender and so flavorful, that it was a knockout. Everything else we ordered from the drinks to the appetizers to dessert was just so delicious, I could hardly accept that it was over at the end of the night. Truly, this was a mind blowing experience, only enhanced by the absolute friendliness and attention to detail of the staff. They worked hard to accommodate us, even when we hadn’t made a reservation. They are the standard for how customer service should be done. Both my boyfriend and I cannot recommend this place enough, we left so so happy 😍

Initially, we were running late due to traffic and the person on the phone offered to change our booking time to allow us to still go & have enough time for our meal. My first experience was disappointing, and this is what this review was written upon. First, the service. I came in around 7pm on a Tuesday, not busy, maybe three tables of couples. What great value. This place is definitely amongst the best places in Glasgow for dining. The food is great, the atmosphere is great. **Update after our second visit Today we visited Glaschu for the second time. This time everything was very smoothe. The menu was great, a varied selection. We ate from the a la carte menu, however the lunch menu looked great too and reasonable at £20 for 2 courses and £30 for 3 courses. Our food was delicious. Once we went up and arrived at the restaurant we were greeted by a member of staff who instructed us to wait there. This felt like sitting in a take-away waiting for our order! When our appitisers were finished and cleared away I had to remind our server that we had still not recieved the alcohol free beer. The starters arrived and looked very appitising , we were very impressed. Again newly arrived diners were seen at the reception and more or less ignored by staff. I must add this was not a very busy service. Our main cousres arrived and like before looked and tasted delicious. Our overall impression from our experience was it was "okay". The four star review is for the menu, presentation , quality and taste of the food. The front of house staff and waiters, except our waiter, were very much lacking in customer service. Barman was super friendly and helpful, a nice welcome as I was on my own. I order Lucky Saint 0% alcohol on draft which was a nice touch as you usually only get 0% in bottles. £5.50 a pint… I order the Thursday daily deal which was chicken in a basket for a fiver! A good deal and good food, pleased I decided to come here and I’ll definitely return next week when I’m back in Glasgow.
