Die Dame wurde derart unfreundlich und warf uns alles mögliche vor und wenn SIE das jetzt will, schickt sie uns zurück ans Ende der Schlange...... Sorry, so geht man nicht mit den Menschen um, die dafür bezahlen eine Veranstalltung zu sehen, sich auf einen schönen Abend freuen und Madame damit einen Job sichern. Ausserdem waren wir sehr freundlich trotz dieser unhöflichen und überheblichen Frau. Ich stand auch schon vorher eine Weile auf der Innenseite des Einganges, in einer Ecke, um auf mein Mann zu warten und könnte das teils sehr unfreundliche Auftreten zu beobachten. Da wurden Leute angemault die kurz nochmal raus wollten um zu rauchen weil die Leute nicht wussten dass man sich stempeln lassen muss obwohl man ja eine Eintritskarte dabei hat. Oder ich bin kurz raus um die Eintrittskarte zu übergeben und wurde zurechtgewiesen weil ich keine 20 Sekunden an der Absperrung stand um die Eintritskarte zu übergeben. Das ganze hatte etwas von einem Viehtrieb aber nichts von einer Veranstaltung bei der die Leute sich auf einen schönen Abend freuen. Man könnte auch innerhalb des Gebäudes hören, dass viele sich über dieses Prozedere ärgerten. Vieleicht sollte der Veranstalter mal den Vertrag mit dieser Firma überdenken. It does have a class and old world charm if you are into noticing such details. It’s located in the middle of a forest area (almost feels like dining in a national park or something) and is located very close to Dodler grand hotel. The food was hit and miss, we liked some dishes and some were just okay. We tried their vegetarian ravioli with asparagus, wiener schnitzel, kids pasta and some drinks. The pasta was good but the schnitzel was a bit undercooked and too chewy. Drinks and kids menu were great. Service was very good and helpful. Very comfortable bed (brand Hästens). The hotel's location is also fantastic. You are at an 8mins walking distance to Zurich Main station and there's literally an S-bahn station at the hotel's door step. You are also in convenient walking distance to everything central in Zurich and you have a fantasticly clean 50m public swimming pool (Hallenbad) about 3mins by foot from the hotel. The hotel's bar is also to recommend because of it's ambiance, character and genuinely friendly and welcoming staff. Internal sounds at the hotel are however a major problem. You will hear everything in neighbouring rooms, hallways etc. External sounds like trams will both be heard and felt. Stomping guest will wake you up even if sleeping with earplugs as your room will shiver. I was originally given a room facing the street but after complaining and pointing out that rooms are sold as "soundproofed" on hotels.com, i was given a smaller (but cosy) room at the riverside of the hotel. No difference in sound except you feel the trams less. I'm not sure about the rooms interior design and it was a little bit dented but at an acceptable level. Cleanliness was good but not entirely spotless to deserve 5/5. Sound is the only factor that pulls down the rating from an otherwise overall 5 out of 5 stars. But again: the hotel's location, the charming building, the very nice staff and the pricing point would make me consider staying again. Regarding breakfast. It's delux-continental (ie.
