The restaurant is beautiful, the waitress/server was wonderful, very professional and very efficient. I had their fish and chips was supposed to be battered but it was breadcrumbed, I had a side salad that was covered in cheese, despite saying I had a dairy allergy. It was Meh, about a 2/5. I ate one bite of everything on my plate (apart from the side salad) and then I pushed it away. My husband had the flat iron steak which he said was ok and our friends had the cod and I think the chicken. Our friends enjoyed the beers, I am not a beer drinker but the wine selection was sub par. We had 2 desserts which we all shared. This place for me was just ok, along with all the restaurants in Derry. The food in the city has come along way from the old days but still parochial and middle of road. I wouldn't eat here again. It wasn't the worst food I ever had but it definitely wasn't the best.

So I booked this restaurant for a private party on one of their closed Sundays and we had the whole place to ourselves. The owners were visiting family in Lebanon when I enquired by text but Berna could not have been more helpful. Menu choices were decided, costs were discussed and numbers were finalised quickly and easily so the party could go ahead on their return. The night itself was the most incredible event. At my request a family style meza was provided to the whole table allowing us to sample a wide range of hot and cold dishes as a group and to simply spend our time chatting and laughing whilst dipping and sharing a food experience. Everyone agreed the food was plentiful and delicious and the serving staff were proactive and courteous. There was nothing too much trouble throughout. In celebration of the occasion I was provided with the princess headwear and other guests were encouraged to don hats and robes for a truly Lebanese atmosphere. There was traditional music and the invite to dance with waiter Ahmed, a truly lively and vibrant guy, who created a very fun participation without intimidating or embarrassing any of the guests. People laughed and clapped and got involved in a way that was very authentic to Middle Eastern culture of family celebrations. Kitchen staff came out to join the dancing and it was such a delight to see the genuine enjoyment. As the host I loved every minute. TLDR: highly recommend. It was easy to find and correct location on Google maps and exterior clean. The second door to open was extremely squeaky, which I felt slightly spoiled the otherwise mostly nice atmosphere but something easily fixed! The table was spacious but there were some crumbs on one of the seats. There were few customers in which was somewhat disappointing to see given current hospitality situation but the speed of service was great! We had bread complimentary of the kitchen and the Guinness treacle bread was heavenly, so soft and sweet, almost addictive! I had looked at the menu online and was keen to try the miso monkfish, however, menus seemed to have just been changed which was disappointing but I enjoyed the potato gnocchi option very much. Sophisticatedly plated with nice flavours and was quite filling. I think most NI businesses aren’t great at having their website reflect their menu though but again, an easy fix for those of us that like to choose ahead of time! The waitress was also very attentive, however, midway through our time, she was off shift and the new male waiter wasn’t as attentive despite the few customers but was still friendly. Dessert, always my favourite course, was impeccable. Perfectly piped decoration with wonderful flavours, the treacle ice cream was divine. My only other slight gripes was, I think, the music being blasted from the kitchen which I felt did not match the perhaps more elevated feeling the decor tries to portray. The ladies toilets seats were ill fitting to the bowl but were otherwise nice and clean. Overall, we very much enjoyed our experience and certainly will be back! Highly recommend!

We went for an early dinner and the restaurant want better crowded when we got there. We were seated right away. This was probably the best Indian food I've ever had. For our main courses we got the Karahi Curry with lamb and the Makhan Tikka which came with chicken. Both were incredibly delicious. I think I preferred the Karahi Curry only because the chicken was a little dry and the lamb was much better, but both sauces were very good. For our sides we got rice and cheesey garlic naan. I highly recommend the cheesey garlic naan -- it was delicious. Our food was a little slow to come out, but our service was good. We had two different servers recommend the dishes we ended up getting as our main course and we were very happy with them. I would highly recommend coming here if you're in the area!

Won't be giving saffron another chance... everything was disappointing and has been for some time....Shame as we used to love both the restaurant and takeaway. It didn't disappoint! Was very surprised when we arrived there was no customers, however within 3 minutes 15 people arrived. Very very busy due to bank holiday I'd advise booking, I hadn't but they have a great system in place to accommodate you if your prepared to wait. The variety on the menu is fantastic this dosnt take away from the quality and the service/speed of service was commendable for around 8pm of what had been a busy day for them. Reservation is a must but we were lucky they had a table available. Lovely decor and great to see all the old LPs in frames, my mother was able to point out ones from years back. I had the Ploughman's Sandwich, and it was huge, packed with flavour, and didn't skimp on ingredients as a vegan option, with a generous serve of vegan cheese. There were also so many vegan options that it was hard to choose, and I wished I were in Derry for more than a day trip so I could come back to eat here! They have a huge drinks menu with some yummy options that I wish I could've tried. The side salad had what was probably the tastiest salad dressing I've ever eaten: a dill pickle mayo, which sounds strange for a salad but was so moreish that I ended up ordering a salad to take home for dinner just so I could eat some more of it. The service was a wonderful cherry on top: my waitress was warm and friendly, and went above and beyond with my to-go order, packaging everything separately to keep it fresh until consumption, carefully sticky taping the dressings so they didn't spill, and even handwriting me a note about the best way to reheat and flavour the seitan. It was so sweet. I don't come from a tipping culture and tipping isn't the norm in NI, but I certainly tipped here as it was well deserved. The location is central to the town, just above the main statue and about a 5-min walk from the town hall and square. They have well set-apart tables so you can have privacy and stay a bit Covid-safe. They have a big, wheelchair-accessible toilet. All around fantastic, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Spotlessly clean bedroom, as my mother has difficulty walking we were on the ground floor. The receptionist was exceptional, always polite and couldn't do enough for us. On the other hand we had some issues with our room cards not working every time and carpet on third floor would also need replacement. We told them we could not wait any longer as we had an event to attend. Finally our food came out, people were given the wrong dishes. Food was average at best.
