The ambience is super nice. The interior design makes it feel like one is in a trattoria in the center/south of Italy during summer. Most of the waiters and waitresses are Italian. They are all very attentive. The menu has a lot of truly Italian courses with a few things that probably try to accommodate local taste. Everything I tried was very good. Some things were good but not in the way I would have expected. For example the pasta with meatballs didn't have the type of taste that I would expect to find in a restaurant, rich and filling, but it tasted like an Italian mum or grandma may prepare for the family during a normal day. The staff were very attentive and helpful with securing an available time slot. They regularly checked in with me by ringing me to confirm numbers throughout the week leading up to the booking. The main courses were brought out promptly. The plates were cleared before people were finished their meals and a few of the party were being haruanged about whether they were finished. The manager couldn’t have been better, he liaised with the kitchen staff and told us they would alter the dishes ordered, he didn’t make us feel like a bother and showed genuine understanding as well as creating really good rapport with us. We booked a table for 5.10, we arrived at that time, it took 30 minutes to get starters for 4 people (ther was only 2 tables occupied in the place and the other table already had there food so shouldnt have taken long at all). What was worse was waiting a further hour or so on the actual main course (now i know why they let people bring drink in, youd need it for all the waiting). I was supposed to be at my neices part at 6.30 , we didnt get out of the restaurant till 7.30 , the whole night was ruined by the delay, i had alot of appologising to do to my neice, and i was late collecting her friend for the party aswel, and they had 30 minutes left of the party as they had school the next morning. I wouldnt ever go to peppers again because of the waiting around, never had to wait that long for food before in my 40 years . I see that im not the only 1 that has said that food takes years to cook here in an almost empty restaurant every single time .

The concept of having their own farm and using their own produce really pulled us to the place. However- Myself and my children visited yesterday. Not knowing waterford city, we just popped into here out of chance for something to eat for dinner. My first impression of the menu was that there was very little choice. Well I have to say I very quickly realised it did not need any more! My Daughter got the goujons, I got the chicken burger and my son got the beef burger. It was absolutely divine- definitely some of the nicest food we have had anywhere! The chicken was so juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside and seasoned beautifully. The beef was also gorgeous- melt in your mouth with a lovely smokey taste. Beautiful fresh salad and crispy chips with all. Massive portions and such a reasonable price. We arrived when it was busy but the lovely staff had us seated immediately and very quick service. I could see they were very busy yet they were so friendly and helpful- excellent staff guys really, ye were a breath of fresh air. A must try! We ended the dinner feeling happy, satisfied and not overly full, which is always a risk with this type of food experience. We found the pace to be perfect. We never had a dull moment. From start to finish, the experience was absolutely top class. Luis and his team are nothing short of phenomenal. I started with their spare ribs. I got two pieces with plenty of meat on them served with a sweet chilli sauce. I have to say that they were the most tender and moist spare ribs that I have had to date. The main course was beef Sichuan with fried rice. The plate was hot, the dish came out with dramatic sizzling, and the rice was freshly cooked. Overall an excellent dish. Decent serving with a good selection of vegetables and the beef was reasonably tender. The sauce was lovely even if it was on the mild side for a Sichuan. Proper coffee was served afterwards, not the cheap coffee that you get served in many Chinese restaurants. It came with a fortune cookie and a coffee biscuit. This meal also came with prawn crackers prior to the starters being served. The quality of the drinking water was also excellent. It is a large restaurant with good space between tables. The staff were lovely and you could see that it meant a lot to them that everything was ok for you. I did have a laugh when I got the bill which included the time that you ordered your food and opposite was exit, ASAP. Overall I received a lovely meal served by lovely staff. I would have no problem in recommending this Chinese Restaurant.

We came here on the recommendation of the staff at the Waterford Marina Hotel. We needed to eat and and kill some time before checking in. The Reg provided both. Saw they had an all you can eat option. It was for the sushi and Chinese starters. You can then pick one of about 10 or so different mains. The sushi was nice and fresh. I got two norimani with spicy beef and tempura chicken. I also opted for a spring roll, chicken wings and spicy chilli chicken. You have to write these down on an order sheet. When the food hot food came it was quite a lot. I didn't say anything at the time and thought I had maybe misread the amount. Turns out in the end they had misread my 1 for a 4 and so have me a huge amount of the spicy chilli chicken and chicken wings and 4 spring rolls. The spicy chilli chicken was just deep fried lumps of breaded chicken that was quite dry with a seasoning on it. The chicken wings were breaded also. I'm not a fan of those. The spring rolls were good. I felt I had to try and eat all of the spring rolls and chicken wings as it was before I discovered that they had made the mistake. This is unfortunate as it would have liked to have tried the other sushi. They were good about it when they released they had misread it and I wasn't charged for the waste. I also got the beef curry and fried rice with it as the main. It was the same as you would get in most Chinese restaurants. The beef was a soft and chewy. Otherwise it was OK. I definitely try it again next time I'm in town and just more clear about what I had ordered! The service was good there and they even have a little machine you can call the waiters on too. €14.90 for the all you eat was quite reasonable

A bright, vibrant cafe with a colourful and friendly vibe. The secondary name of ‘Mad Ash’s Kitchen’ confirms that the owner is a person who loves what she does, and enjoys every minute of it. Bright orange and Lime Green paint on the walls, with interesting decorations dotted around, and a shelf of pride on which are displayed numerous awards. Most seating it small tables with 2 chairs, but they can be pushed together to facilitate more at one table, Upon our arrival, a 4 seater table was all that was available for us, and the previous occupants had not long left, so the table had been cleared but not cleaned, but as we took our seats, a member of staff was already there attending to the table, before we had sat down, so obviously was in the middle of bussing the table when we arrived. The service was great. Menus were already present on the table, and once we had looked over the menu, the staff member was over straight away to take our order. And once we received our order after a short wait, checked back a couple of times to see we were alright. The teapot was refilled without question. And the fine big mug of tea was lovely, as was the same sized mug of coffee. Breakfast, offered a choice of white or brown toast, as well as eggs to your liking, scrambled, poached etc. We opted for the Omelette, the Full Irish & The Mega. For €2 more than the full Irish, the Mega breakfast is great value, giving you Tomato & Mushrooms, as well as an extra Egg and Hash Brown. Another bonus here is that the mugs for the tea & coffee were preheated, as were the plates. Not something that happens everywhere (especially with cups & Mugs) but makes a big difference, and if a compact outlet like this can manage it, one might wonder why not everywhere does it! Definite plus! The food in general was of great quality, decent thick rashers and sausages ( a breakfast can die on these 2 items being poor quality alone) and although not a lover of Pudding, it was lovely. All round, definitely as good a breakfast as you’ll get anywhere. Don’t let external appearances deceive. From the outside, it may seem like just a run of the mill cafe tucked into an industrial unit, there to serve local workers, but this place is far from that. A real gem tucked away in Waterford city, and definitely well worth a visit. Their lunch menu looked good too, and great value for money.

I asked the receptionist at my hotel to suggest a restaurant and she said that the Jade Palace might be a good idea and as it was nearby I decided to give it a try. The entrance is confusing and off-putting, they really should replace the carpet on the stairs. I would describe this restaurant itself as an old style Chinese restaurant that does not pretend to be Asian Fusion or anything other than what it is. The dining area is very dark and a bit rundown. The staff were excellent but these days that is what I expect when I visit any restaurant in a major town or city in Ireland. The days of rude Chinese staff is long gone. The food was good but not special.

The prawns were plump, juicy, and cooked flawlessly.
