I'm absolutely OBSESSED with this place! I stopped by for lunch, but I can only imagine how magical dinner must be. This restaurant/bar consistently exceeds my expectations - they're one of those rare gems that never disappoint. Their handcrafted cocktails are truly some of the best in Barranco!

Dos veces en un día es por que es bueno. Quedamos de retornar para cenar antes de nuestro retorno a Santiago. Mi novia quedó fascinada con los sour. Nos queda pendiente la comida.

A few months ago I visited *Celeste Solar Bar**, located on the 10th floor of the Hyatt hotel in San Isidro, Lima, Peru. Being situated in one of the most exclusive areas of the city, the service from the moment we arrived at the reception was impeccable. We had made a reservation for a Friday night in June, and the rooftop offers beautiful views of the surrounding area, which made for a great atmosphere.
One of the highlights of the night was the live music, which was fantastic. I’d say the venue is aimed at a crowd over 30 years old, with a chic and relaxed vibe. However, the only downside was that the music was just too loud. It made having conversations with friends nearly impossible. While I love live music, I feel that the volume should be toned down a bit—if I wanted that level of noise, I’d go to a nightclub, not a rooftop bar. A more balanced sound level would make the experience much more enjoyable.
As for the food, the menu focuses on small bites and appetizers. My friends ordered the chicken & waffles, which didn’t impress us much—it was a bit dry and felt too simple for a place like this. Peru is known for its incredible and diverse cuisine, so we were hoping for something more refined. On the other hand, the spring rolls were absolutely spectacular—definitely a must-try! The carbonara croquettes and cheeseburgers were also quite pleasant, offering solid flavor and presentation.
The drinks were more than satisfactory, though not quite perfect. They were well-made and enjoyable, adding to the overall experience. While they didn’t completely blow me away, they were certainly good enough to complement the lovely ambiance and make the evening feel special.

Visited this rooftop last weekend and had an amazing time. As soon as you walk into the hotel, the staff is very friendly and welcoming. The bar has a very cool vibe and great view. Fui a Celeste Rooftop Bar en San Isidro para celebrar mi cumpleaños con la promoción Cheers to You y la experiencia fue excelente. The atmosphere here is fantastic, relaxed, stylish, and perfect for a day or evening out. The rooftop pool adds a really cool touch, and the view is absolutely beautiful. The bar is excellent, and they usually host great events and parties over the weekend, which makes it a fun place to hang out.

Had a great time here on Saturday night. We had to pay an entry fee of 50soles but it did include a basic cocktail (not very good) but the drinks after that were reasonable and the music was great. Aver cenato al Cala a Lima è stata un’esperienza fantastica!
Abbiamo iniziato con un piatto da condividere: Carpaccio Angus, fatto con lomo, parmigiano reggiano, salsa mostaza e tostas. La carne era morbidissima e di ottima qualità, davvero perfetta, lo consiglio a tutti.
Come piatti principali abbiamo preso il Lomo Saltado (con papas amarillas, huevo de codorniz, arroz e choclo). Anche questo piatto era delizioso, la carne era cotta alla perfezione e tenerissima. Le patatine fritte di contorno erano croccanti e non molli come spesso capita, davvero ottime.
Io, se non erro il nome ho scelto l’Orzo Asado de Tir. Era davvero buonissimo, con la carne ancora una volta cucinata alla perfezione, anche se l'unico difetto è che personalmente l’ho trovato un po’ salato secondo i miei gusti, ma comunque rimane molto saporito e ben cucinato.
Per concludere, come dolce abbiamo preso i Picarones, tipico dessert peruviano, soffici, gustosi e davvero squisiti.

I came here for my birthday lunch and it was my personal favorite over some other fine dining spots I tried around the city (did not make it to Maido up the street, but that’s in another price category!)
Don’t skip the bread basket. It’s an assortment of delicious warm goodness. Ours came with whipped goat cheese, butter, and tomato jam.
The scallop appetizer (scallops in lemon butter) is an absolute must-order and nothing short of sublime. We ordered two pasta mains, and while the duck ragu lacked depth of flavor and the portion was a bit small, the stracciatella-filled pasta with prawns, peas, and a light cream sauce was a winner.
The dessert menu was also an absolute highlight and you absolutely must save room for dessert. It was my birthday so they gave me one dessert on the house and we also ordered one of the most mind-blowing
desserts I’ve ever had: cherimoya royale which consisted of - from bottom to top: custard apple mousse, praline, a flambéed custard apple slice, custard apple sorbet, enrobed in custard apple foam.
The combination of great execution, the balance of complexity and simplicity, and the outstanding service and atmosphere makes this a worthwhile stop on any Lima itinerary!

A wonderful dining experience! We chose this restaurant based on previous reviews, and it certainly lived up to expectations. We shared an entree and a main between two, as previous reviews indicated that portion sizes were generous — and indeed they were. The dishes ordered were tantalising and full of flavour. They have a dark lager! It’s a local beer, Cusqueña Negra, and I recommend it for those who like dark beer. Diet Coke here is Coke Sin Azucar (Coke with no sugar). Yes, they have a full bar. So you can get your pisco sour and ceviche at this place.
We were blessed to have Yul as a server and he was very patient with us. He explained every dish and even had good recommendations for us. We’re not big eaters so it was very helpful
So we don’t waste food. He helped us share our dishes to the next table since it was too much and we didn’t want it to go to waste.
Señor Maximo and Señorita Ariana by the door helped us get seated at the second floor. It was quieter and you can relax a lot more than seeing the waiting crowd downstairs.

One of the best gift shops I’ve ever been to: a great place to pick up unique upmarket goods by Peruvian designers and craftspeople. A must for discerning shoppers!
I absolutely loved my visit here and ended up getting some unique jewelry. You can easily spend multiple hours looking at all the rooms, so plan accordingly if you love to shop/browse.
The shop includes homewares, clothing, a jewelry room, stationary, toys and kids items, a small selection of foods, and even a courtyard cafe with bonsai trees for sale.
Service is second to none. Associates will take your selections to the cashier while you continue to shop. Beautiful gift wrap is included with all purchases on request.
Some reviews have mentioned that perhaps some of the craft items are cheaper elsewhere. That may be the case, but there are a lot of brands I didn’t see elsewhere and everything is of the highest quality and carefully curated.

Great art products selection – boxes, bags, jewelry, clothing, textiles, home decors. There is a nice coffee shop behind and a hidden chocolate shop.
For the chocolate, the price for Elemento is slightly higher than supermarket (Flora y Fauna in Barranco), but their Magia Pura is slightly cheaper than El Cacaotal. (I only found Magia Pura in these 2 stores).
I bought 2 other chocolates, but they were expiring in a week. The store was willing to replace it but I had to wait for around 10 minutes and they don't have one variety that I wanted.
I ended up taking their Ukaw chocolates, as they recommended, however the price was apparently almost 50% higher than from Ukaw store in Barranco. (Their price was ~PEN23, and it was only ~PEN16 in Ukaw).
Overall, it was a good visit. This is a typical shop inside an art space/gift store.

Yikes, maybe the saddest bar I’ve ever been to and Lima bars have been awesome so far. The artwork and vibe is cool throughout but the service is literally, not practically, nonexistent. I sat at the bar for 5 minutes looking at the bartender seated behind the bar and on her phone. I read from reviews that there was a great craft beer selection but I sat myself right in front of the craft fridge and it was mostly empty, except for a few rows of big brands like Corona and Callao. I waited a little longer then got up and left. Not a word was ever said. Maybe this was a great place once upon a time but it felt icky and like the staff was just there to hook friends up before it goes broke.

I am writing this review to share my thoughts during my stay at the Westin Hotel. It was a beautiful experience. Nothing less from a 5 star hotel and best hotel if you ask me in Peru. The staff was friendly, they were bilingual in English and Spanish. The rates were competitive. The pool was amazing. Gym had lots of equipment. Breakfast was American Style, eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, lots of fruits, breads and more. Though it comes at an $80 dollar price. Well worth it in my honest opinion. Parking included. It is a must if driving a car in Lima. Everything needed is handed to you if requested at the front desk, is person or by phone. I would have enjoyed more activities but my time was limited. There was heat and AC in the room. Wonderful views of San Isidro. Lots of store nearby, gas stations, restaurants and even a clinic if you were to need medical attention. I will stay again.

I will start by saying that the hotel was amazing, a great spot literal feet from the ocean, amazing staff and the rooms were perfect. The four stars more come from an issue at check in.
Ultimately there was a miscommunication from an earlier call and the check in employee about the number of guests in the room. I was initially told having one more than the reservation states wouldn’t be an issue since the room can really hold 4 people (I brought 3), but upon checking in they said I HAD to pay for the third body in the room.
Really that was the only thing that put a sour taste in my mouth but again overall it was a great stay. Just MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE COMING, not just the number of beds needed.

Loved our dinner in Saladero with fabulous waitress Alexandra, and the breakfast buffet was probably the best I have experienced anywhere. About 30 minutes and a $50USD fare with Trips Remisse that you can book in advance via the hotel. Highly recommend if you are visiting Lima.

We stayed in room 1003 - king sized bedroom facing the Ocean - for one night. The hotel offered self serve coffee, fruits & croissant during the morning hours which is a great touch!
Fruit plate was provided in the room as well since we are Marriott members. Lovely!
Hotel is centrally located - about an hour from the airport during the morning rush hour though. We took Uber from the airport and paid about 55 PEN for one way.
During Check out we’ve received a bill for food and drinks that we didn’t order since we ate out during our stay. Luckily the Hotel staff was understanding and didn’t charge it to our room since we didn’t order the food. Not sure how it even got charged to our room in the first place. Friendly employees!

Such a great brewery pub! Bloody awesome service, fantastic selection of beers (and a cider!!!! A CIDER!!), and super cool setting. We particularly loved the 6-9pm happy hour offer - a flight of beers and a massive pizza for 40 sols!
It's like 5 minutes round the corner from the main bits of Barranco but well worth the effort of a visit (and definitely choose this place over Barranco Beer Company....nothing really wrong there, but this place is just better!). Go! You won't regret it!

Kaclla was "home" during my time in Lima.
First I started in a private room, very nice to rest after some days on the road. On a second opportunity, I went to the shared dorms which were also very convenient.
The common area is well organized and clean. The same goes for the bathroom and kitchen. Breakfast offered is delicious and totally worth it.
They can support you with basically everything you need.
Airport transfer is highly recommended! Only 20 soles for door to door service.
It is perfectly located. Near enough from central Miraflores square and far from street noise and rush.
You can walk up and down everywhere.

If I could give negative stars, I would.
I stayed at The Helling Dog Hostel in Lima for a whole month, and the experience ended in the worst way possible.
Right after I checked out, they kicked me out immediately and didn’t even let me leave my bags in storage without extra payment. When my friends and I did pay to leave our bags, the entire staff looked at us with disgust, giving us dirty looks like we were doing something wrong.
Before we left, one of the staff members started searching for “damaged” dishes in the kitchen and tried to blame us for it, even though we hadn’t used them at all — then she tried to force us to pay for it.
There’s no place in the hostel where you can sit and relax without the staff staring at you the whole time. The atmosphere is uncomfortable and unwelcoming.
They try to squeeze money out of you in every possible way. On our last day, we explained that we had a night bus and just needed to stay in the hostel until then — their response was basically: “We don’t care. You can’t even leave your bags here. Either pay for another night or wait on the street with your stuff.”
To sum it up: this hostel has the rudest, most unpleasant, and most unhelpful staff I’ve encountered in all my years of traveling. Avoid this place at all costs.

It would have been no problem if not , but we received a blank stare and no answer instead. Treatment like this continued for every other interaction we had.
