Had a great time with my family (kids between 9 mo and 7 yrs). Plenty of space on the trails or spots to step aside, if crossing paths, to social distance. The field trail had tons of flowers and pollinators flying around to spend a good 15 minutes teaching the kids. 90% of the trail is shaded under the tree canopy except for the field where depending on the time of day (morning or evening) you might get good shade on one side. There is no water at this course, and considering you park next to a giant house, there isn't an excuse for that. Less of an issue is the fact that there are only porta potties at the course. Considering the giant structure, perhaps 100 ft away from them, it seems like something that could be improved, but isn't a necessity like having water is. It is an exceptionally long course, which is not bad in and of itself. Unfortunately it almost appears that the length is because they designed a 36-hole course and then deleted every other hole. I decided to relax more anyways because she didn't bother the gentleman on the pond nor the people stopping by on the road. I work with homeless people for a living and i find it incredibly disgusting to have an employee at a nature preserve behave this way. As she left she was loudly complaining about my presence and pointing me out to another individual. What is the point of nature if you cant even literally sit down and mind your own business? Anyways, be wary of the employees here. They wont even talk to you and jump to escalating a non situation.
