Food in the safari area was expensive for what you get as is all the drinks/snacks you can buy there. I would definitely recommend this zoo and go early when they open. Definitely try not to go when it’s super hot, you’ll be doing lots of walking to see everything. They have a train to ride, a sky lift and a track like ride through the park also. It costs $1.25 per stop.

The aquarium was my absolute favorite — beautifully designed and so fun to explore. The gift shop is well organized and has some cute items. The bathrooms were clean. It had rained the night before, so some trails were muddy and the slides were wet. The staff were so helpful in giving us ideas for what hikes to do. The boardwalk is so nice!! The kids had a great time! We loved seeing the birds and a lady came and spoke to the kids all about them and was so patient with their questions. We did not do the ropes course. It looked like it was well made and large, but couldn’t justify the really expensive price per person.

It is down a minimum maintenance road that looks like you are going the wrong way... you are not. The road is closed to the public when Freedom Park is not open. Big open area and it’s not all the same things to look at . Lots to look at and lots of open space . It’s a really great spot to take your kids as they do have a playground too! So many near features to appeal to kids as well as adults that you can't just find at any old basic park. This Italianate style home is on the campus of the Omaha Metropolitan Community College. There is street parking and a parking lot available. Staff and volunteers are so welcoming, polite, and helpful. The reception room is one of our favorites; it includes a small Steinway piano and a Regina music box that plays songs using large metal disks. The sound is extraordinary! My 85 year old mother got an unplanned workout going up the many steps to the front door, because I hadn't even thought to ask if there was a handicapped entrance - which there is around back, thank goodness! The Crook House is very much worth a few hours of your time, and you can see something new on each visit.

We saw him ban a couple of kids for doing just that (once was on our first ride and the same kids came back on our fourth ride and got removed and banned because they wrecked everyone else on the track, causing the ride to have to be stopped multiple times. I am REALLY glad the attendant did that, because a lot of places don't and people end up getting hurt. Next time we visit Omaha, we will definitely be going here for some great family fun!

It's obvious that the volunteers and employees genuinely care about the location. This is paradise if you enjoy wildlife, especially birds. The hawk-watching here is legendary during the migration season. It's amazing to see enormous raptors flying directly over your head, even if you're not a birdwatcher. Camping spots are surprisingly well-maintained, quiet, and clean. Stayed a night and woke up to the sound of wind through the prairie grass and not much else. 10/10 peaceful vibes. It's such a nice park. Lots of fowl to watch swimming around, the lake is beautiful and it has a good playground area for the kiddos. Teamwork appears to be a key factor in the management style of Stir, and it shows. I honestly am at a loss to think of a venue I feel safer at. Another super desirable factor Stir brings to the table is how familiar it is. Omaha and Council Bluffs have a relatively dense population, while still being small enough to see familiar faces. You can guarantee you’ll always see people you know, as the venue is the perfect size for a nicely diversified crowd. Venue is the smallest I've ever been to and im not complaining. I loved it! They have a lounge area when you first walk in and to the left theres a small section to sit in. Then the bar is pretty long and obviously pricey. Theres some stairs past the lounge to up to the balcony. Its a reserved section and on the side of the standing section is also reserved. Then general admission is a decent size compared to the reserved sections. Being right in the front, the sound wasn't deafening. I brought ear plugs and took them out once the show started. We are undoubtedly glad we made this section of downtown Omaha a priority for our spring break vacation. So many of the buildings have a rich history and seeing the old passageway was well worth the photo opportunity with its stunning beauty. We visited on a weekday and it was so easy to find cheap street parking, I think we paid about $3 for 3 hours of parking. This is the park I grew up skating in 20 years ago, and the park I spend the most time skating in today. The snakerun here is the best snakerun I've skated in any park, allowing for endless creativity and flow, with new lines I'm discovering even to this day. They have a skate park that always seems to be busy. They also have a trail system that seems to have a lot of people using it so it should be safe. There is also a big grassy area. Plenty of parking is there as well and it is not a “sketchy” park. I really enjoyed fishing the creek. There are bullhead in there as well as a goldfish that I was able to catch.
