The snickerdoodle cookie was soft and delicious (thankfully not hard, hard cookies are a dealbreaker for me!). That said, the jerk rice and black beans didn't vibe well together, a bit too sweet and mismatched for my taste. The carnitas were under-seasoned, but the crispiness of the quesadilla helped save it. Service was great, I was greeted right away, offered suggestions, and even able to try some samples. You order at the counter and then grab a seat to wait for your food. There's a dog-friendly patio, which I always appreciate, but unfortunately, it's in direct sunlight with no shade so not ideal for my pup on a warm day. My friend ordered the veggie quesadilla, which surprised me in the best way. It tasted like a fresh veggie salad wrapped in a tortilla. The Diablo chicken dry and couldnt even chew pieces because of it and had to spit it out. My daugher got both jen pork Jen chicken .. her pork she couldnt eat. She enjoyed the chicken.. my oldest got teriyaki chicken thats what shr ate whrn she was little and it was difficult to get past the taste of it . She poked at it and just hated it . All of us did like like the Rice . Two of us got jerk rice and my youngest got white. ... the cookies at the end wr good . Over all .. we wete so excited to revist a place we had been to so many times drove over and hour to have , we left so disappointed and sad. I'd had plain fry bread decades ago at some roadside stands in the Mojave but never something as hearty and tasty as an Indian taco. The red chili beef was fatty and rich and while the pillowy fry bread started getting soft fast from all those meat juices the edges still had a crisp shell and the whole thing was marvelously chewy. I had one with meat, beans, cheese, sour cream, and lettuce. It was hard to detect the bean flavor (which I love) but the whole thing was so so delicious, and it's no wonder why they've been around for decades. The space was super casual and very busy even at a late lunch bustling with pickup orders and patrons filling almost every air conditioned seat. The staff was friendly and clearly enjoyed their time cooking and chatting and shouting out orders. I loved the mix of folks there from old ladies to construction workers and if you can you really should dine in as those rolls of paper towels on the table come in handy chowing down on these beasts. While the staff was friendly, the frustrating wait time and high cost for a basic drive-thru experience are the main reasons for my low rating. I absolutely LOVED my meal at the Larder + the Delta. We went just before the Beyonce concert and it was such a good, filling meal to have before dancing the night away. My friend had the Blackened Mississippi Catfish, but I didn't take pictures of it - though it was very good (I snuck a bite). And we also had the Hot Water Corn Bread with a whipped honey butter. At first, I thought by the look of it and the first bite, it was kinda shortbread-ish but it was just a perfectly, non-messy consistency/not crumby but still crumbly (if that makes sense). It was very, very good and the whipped butter was not overwhelmingly sweet - just the perfect complement to the corn bread. The ambiance was clean and chill. Just a lovely time at this restaurant and would highly recommend. I will say that the parking might be a bit difficult to find because you are in downtown Phoenix where it's limited to street parking or valet, so highly recommend Uber or rideshare for convenience of getting in and out.

Next the food : I picked the signature burger 🍔 Zinburger and opted for gluten free bread . Along with zucchini fries. The zucchini was fresh not frozen . I will agree with a previous review. The burger will fall apart so get your fork and knife ready . It taste wonderful so I scooped up the last morsel. I also tried the banana pie. Fresh cream topping and fresh bananas . It made me smile that it wasn't a generic pie. It was done with thought of freshness in mind.

Dining in elegance. The only downside is that it can get quite loud especially when there is a live band playing. With Federal Pizza focusing their menu around pizza, a 5 star rating should only apply to the pizza. I'm assuming the reason Federal Pizza doesn't sell pizza by the slice, or any other sizes, is because they want to be able to operate like MOD or Little Ceasar's with a template pizza size, but then include actual quality ingredients that make the $18 price tag worth it. Normally the size of the pizza vs the cost would have immediately dropped their rating to a 4, but with the flavors and quality, it has reached a 5 star rating for me, but just barely. Eating the first slice earned 4 stars for me. There is almost no sauce, and the crust to topping ratio was off. The crust was slightly denser than what one would expect, but not overly so. The closest comparison I can make to this pizza is Floridino's over in Chandler. The second slice allowed my taste buds to recognize a subtle under-tone of white wine in the sauce, similar to the authentic Rosati's pizza in the north side of Phoenix/Peoria. Because of how subtle the sauce flavor is, I can understand why the pizza lacked much flavor, and relied mostly on the crust and toppings for flavor. In order to appreciate the sauce, you would likely need to order a regular cheese pizza. I also tried the cheesy garlic bread, and it was definitely the best version I've ever had. The marinara sauce was also spiced with red pepper flakes, so it added another layer of flavor to the already great garlic bread. I will likely be returning, mostly because I believe Federal Pizza's menu has more to offer than the two items I tried.
