Walking in it was a small quaint cafe with only a few tables, which was fine. We were intending to leave with our product anyway! Large selection of Macarons, danishes, croissants, cookies, and more. We selected a strawberry pistachio cake slice, a chocolate covered Madeline, a honey pecan scones, and a pear Danish. I will say it felt a little rushed getting through the line, but it was 9am and they were busy. It just made it hard to get a good look at everything, if we had more time I think we would have chosen different or more options. We got to the car and opened the strawberry pistachio slice, it was good, however way too sweet for my liking, unfortunately couldn't finish it. The Madeline was good! But a bit more dense than we were use to. The scone was for a friend, they really enjoyed it (it smelled and looked good) and last the pear Danish was for my boyfriend. I stole a bite and that was the star of the show! Amazing Danish. I will return again to try other items in the future.

I love the breakfast options and my favorite sandwiches are the ham & cheese baguette, California club, and BLT. I love you can get a slice of cake if you’re solo or want to try several options. Three downsides to consider. 1. Bread, breakfast, and sandwiches sell very quickly so try and get there before noon so you don’t miss out. 2. West Seattle store is very small & narrow and the lines often go into the street and it’s a bit chaotic honestly especially if it’s your first visit. Hang in there and try and go with the flow of others and you’ll be okay. However, if crowded social spaces make you anxious, this place may trigger you during busy times. 3. They’re closed Mondays & Tuesdays 😩 So try and stock up breads, etc on Sundays if you’ll have a craving. I also want to mention how amazing ALL their staff are. Always polite and kind and patient while you order. I’ve been a regular here -sometimes weekly- for four years and I’ve always had a positive experience (minus the crowded shop) with the friendly staff. Definitely recommend if you’re craving decadent pastries and cake or need a fancy cake for a special occasion. And the bread - good variety. They keep this to as authentic and minimally processed as possible and it really reflects in flavor and how you feel after eating. The server was fine but messed up our order (they have so many Mac and cheese items I get it) so I can’t fault them. We felt bad about the miscommunication but that was short lived as we came across more and more problems. We didn’t have napkins and after like 20 mins we asked for some and got paper napkins instead of the linen ones like usual. Our bread wasn’t warm and the butter wasn’t soft either. The platting was sloppy on some dishes and other dishes were dry like they were sitting in the heat lamp too long. We got nachos and had them comped and replaced because they were stale and burnt chips but the replacement was just more stale chips. We got our Mac and cheese bites and they were burnt(lighting is dark on photos but the taste was burnt and with flash you can tell). We waited a really long time for stuffed mushrooms (yes I know they can take long but this was LONG) so we ended up cancelling the order and getting our bill. For the prices of everything and the location I was expecting more especially from this franchise because my friends and I generally haven’t been disappointed. We drove too far for this.

Service was good, especially from the girl/lady behind the seated counter area who prepared the meatloaf sandwich. Fortunately, we asked her to split it and she plated half on 2 plates for us. See the attached picture to see how huge a half sandwich is! The meatloaf itself was a bit dry and more like a medium well hamburger patty than a moist meatloaf with seasoning inside. It is a great spot in Pioneer Square! I had the green eggs and ham and a raspberry lime soda, which were both delicious. I wanted the daily quiche and they said there were all out, but then 15 minutes later they walked out with more of it for other costumers. Simply, fabulous. The brand experience of this place was amazing. Never experienced any cafe with this much transparency, food quality, and welcoming atmosphere. They truly know their customers extension of experiences. Food was amazing, croissant was crisp on the outside with enough chewy dough and not extremely buttery. Green Eggs and Ham tasted amazing with perfectly cooked scramble, potatoes and seasoned ham that harmonized with the green sauce. Bit zesty as well. If it weren't for the fact that this place is really overpriced then I would go back for this one thing. The plain croissant was also good, but I hope it would be for a French bakery. They had a full rack of different baked bread, the variety was impressive. I went with a standard sourdough and they have a slicing machine to make life easy. The restaurant space is beautiful, they have an open kitchen area where you see beautifully displayed meat laying on the side of butchers knives. The chef grilling up all the delicious feasts. We were sat right in front of the glass with a spectacular view of the lake and sunset. The staff all were amazing and detailed. They explained each dish and were perfectly attentive (not annoying where they ask you every two seconds) very timed. They have one of the best vegan/vegitarian menus! Something for everyone. We ordered the Octpus, Beet Salad, Spicy citrus avocado roll, Grilled vegetables, King salmon, mushroom wellington!!!! And of course dessert wish they had the Magic mushroom but there were no more so we went with the Skyfall. I will be back just for the Magic mushroom. They also have a great mocktail selection :). They have an outside section as well. But hands down best view or shall i say views of all of Seattle/Bellevue you can see everything. If you want to impress this is the place, if youre celebrating something special tbis js the place..but i must say dont just wait to celebrate something just go and enjoy living and being present is always something to celebrate. Poppy Seed Danish (tebirkes) was buttery and flaky with just a hint of sweetness to contrast the savory/nuttiness from the poppy seeds. Boller with a chocolate topping and some custard inside. It reminds me of a milk bread with the lightly sweet flavor and fluffy texture. The coffee was great with this since the acidity helped cut through some of the sweetness Frosnapper was interesting to look at and we though it would be a more savory pastry since it had poppy and sesame seeds. I honestly am pretty disappointed in how the cake came out. When I received it I immediately thought that it didn’t look like red velvet cake at all, and I’d see red velvet cake in the shop before that looked completely different. I asked the person working at the time of pickup and they confirmed that it was red velvet. I took the cake home and served it just a few hours later. It was hard and very dry. we felt that it had been made too long, maybe even days before and just kept in their fridge. The top layer of frosting was so dry it cracked apart as we cut it. We’ve had many, many gluten free/vegan cakes before and none of them were like this. On top of that the cake was certainly not red velvet and tasted nothing like red velvet. Of the 8 people I served the cake to, all of them agreed that it tasted nothing like red velvet. I’m upset considering this was quite an expensive cake for the size. On top of all this, the worker in the store said I “probably couldn’t get a refund because” I “ordered in store and non online” has anyone ever heard of that?? They have a variety of items ranging from cakes, pastries and coffee along with full lunch/dinner menu celebrating Salvadorean culture. They also have a small selection of grocery items too. We also saw some cute Halloween decorated conchas and saw that for four of them was 9.95 so got that to share with our friends. The conchas were delicious and not too sweet. There was plenty of parking near the location. When you enter, you see the restaurant half which is a lovely, cozy space that can seat many customers of all party sizes. They have a section for napkins, utensils and to go boxes too. If you go to the left, that is the bakery as well as small store of different goodies. They had all types of pastries, cakes, and snacks that you can choose from. The prices seem fair. When we entered the bakery side, the employees welcomed us and told us to let them know if we have any questions. Very friendly and quick service! We definitely want to come back to try their pastries, cakes, and food again. They also do have a point system that you can sign up for to get discounts and even a birthday reward too.

When I got the Smoked Salmon Pesto Flatbread, I wasn't expecting cream cheese stuffed under the thick salmon slices and was impressed by the complex and well-balanced layers in one single pastry. When a lox bagel often goes north of $10, this flatbread for $6.5 is absolutely a bargain and by itself justifies the 15-min wait. When a place is so good that it has a perpetual line, their staff often gets cocky or arrogant, but SUSU's lady at the window is such a sweetheart, taking care of everyone with a beam of glee and ardor.
