We love their cupcakes, cakes, lemon loafs, cookies, and cheddar biscuits. I miss their uptown location where we could have broccoli cheese soup and pastrami sandwiches, but this is still great. Today I got a strawberry cupcake with a creme frosting and a strawberry filling and it was one of the best cupcakes I've ever had. I hope they make more of these kind of cupcakes in the future. The only problem we've had with this place is the hours. Recently, I wanted to order a vegan cake for a Tuesday event at my work, but they don't open until noon that day, so I had to get frozen cupcakes instead. Many times we've wanted a cake or cupcakes for a holiday or event and the hours haven't worked for us to pick it up so we end up going to Whole Foods or getting the item many days in advance and having to freeze them, which is never as good as fresh. I get they need a day off, but I still wish there was a way to pick up orders at more convenient days or hours.

I was drawn to this spot because it’s Black-owned and full of character—and it didn’t disappoint. The space has a cool, local vibe that feels authentic and inviting. My favorites are the fried chick'n sandwich and the loaded fries. Louis and Angel were lovely, and it was so good to chat with them about the vegan food scene in the Twin Cities. I ordered 2 beyond meat in pretzel burger with fries. When I received my bill it was $70-80. I was very confused asked the server why that price when burger was only like ~16-$20. They said as everything was separately charged including regular fries. I got charged $1 each for the veggies, and sauces :S never have I paid for a burger $20 without sauce n veggies that were extra and it did not say that on the menu. Also they charged me gratuity and did not give me my receipt. They said I would get it after payment so I tipped them about 15-20%. When I received my receipt turns out they already charged me gratuity. The server did not mention that so I double tipped! Also burger was half the size of a regular beyond meat. I have beyond meat at home and the burger is not half the size. It felt like they took beyond meat, halved it to give two customers. It was flat and small. Like the size of a slice of small tomato. Has anyone seen beyond meat burger that size? They are pretty big! Anyhow, never went back. I felt that was pretty fraudulent to do to a new customer or any customer. I rather eat a $20 burger at so many other vegan spots where they are not charging you extra for ketchup. And that don’t cheat you with payment and food portion. I mostly only eat at vegan places as a vegetarian and this was the first time this ever happened to me. Not sure if it was due to some new server but also food portion would be the fault of the business. And I rarely even write reviews. First time I was disappointed in minneapolis.

I don't often search out vegan. I have no issue with veg/vegan, and a friend is hardcore vegan; so, I took them there when they were in town. So much texture and the flavor of the (mock) duck was delicious; so, you don't even think about 'mock meat'. I want to note the fresh pickle were very good and great counter flavor pairing. I mean really good. The arugula side salad was perfectly dressed and a good pairing with the crunchy sweetness of the tacos. The BLT was good as well They have a very good almost all regional microbrews. But only pint pours (no half pours, I asked 😉) Counter service and they bring out to based on a table flag. It can be a little slow during peak lunch period, but it was worth the wait. Some small table seating but shared long tables make up about half the seating area. Also a counter area/bar area. I am dairy free which requires me to explore many vegan places. On our trip to Minneapolis, this was a very high rated place for vegan and Mac n cheese. First we got the mojo smoked Brussels sprouts which were not cooked consistently; some were hard and some were soft. They did not seem smoked and seemed more charred. The crema was good and the crispy onion topper was good in flavour but lacking texture. For the price, the portion was okay. I would not recommend as you can only enjoy half of the portion. Next was the vegan Mac and cheese with shiitake mushroom bacon. Our mistake was buying one each instead of buying one to try and something different as a back up. It was horrible. The smoked gouda cheese sauce was good for texture (not watery, thicker with a more cheese like consistency but could have benefitted from slightly more liquid so it could be mixed more evenly) but the sauce was so SOUR! I tried adding some salt to introduce a different profile, added some pepper, it was barely edible. I ate half and couldn’t stomach anymore. I got the mushrooms on the side and although they were quite salty, I really liked them, however they did not mimic bacon. As a dairy free meat eater, I can vouch that I have had better fake bacon. There was also no crunch. For the price, the portion was mediocre. We were debating dessert but picked up from a different location and we are glad we did. Too much disappointment already! We would not recommend this place for value or taste but the ladies at the front were super friendly. The service was good (on the phone and at the restaurant) which is why I rated a 2 star instead of 1 star. However they charge a 20% service fee (not gratuity) even on pick up orders, which the lady was amazing to take off of our bill (employer should pay fair wages and let customers tip as desired instead of expecting customers to cover a portion of their wages). The croissants were good. The scones were interesting. I've not really had a drop scone before but that is what the cranberry one was. It has the right texture though and tasted fine. The lemon blueberry was very odd. It had the scone shape but that was it. It was like a crunchy shortbread instead of a tender scone. I would not recommend it.

The flavors are great as well. We've been in a few times and have tried the Mint Chip (my go-to), Coffee, Strawberry, Lemon Bar, Pistachio, and the Rocky Road. They are all delicious and I would highly recommend all of them! My fave was the Rocky Road - they are clearly great at chocolate ice cream. The waffle cones are always delicious too. The service is efficient and helpful. We'll continue coming back - thanks for doing what you do!

I liked their Minneapolis location so I was hoping this will turn out good too. First off, the host. Just a note to restaurants, your host will always be the first person whom customers interact with when they come in so have someone there who's at least friendly or welcoming. It is now one of my favorite places for a light flavorful lunch time. The food here is very fresh and clean without being bland healthy. I had the chicken salad (plant based). The brown rice in the grain bowl here is so dried and hard, I legimitely thought they accidentally added pebbles to my bowl. The chicken was tender, and the veggies were decent (except the old steamed broccoli), but they definitely left the brown rice sitting out without a lid since the last century. Their dried, hard brown rice reminds me of when I was a college student. I cooked rice, scooped a steaming, hot bowl of it, and was about to take out side dishes to eat with the rice, but then remembered that I hadn't submitted my assignment due within the hour, so I hurriedly left without even touching the rice, forgot about it, left the rice out, continued to forget about the bowl for a week, and, finally, walked back into the kitchen where there was a bowl of rock-hard, dried rice waiting for me that was inedible. It was Grandma, Grandpa, my wife, myself and our 2.5 year old daughter. The food was extraordinary. Three course menu for the adults and they had buttered noodles for our daughter. He gave us some champagne to celebrate our first time in Alma which my husband and I were very pleasantly surprised about. However, my reason for 4 star rating is because even though it was good, it was nothing out of this world that we'd come back for for the price that we paid. I got a small bear pizza (yes I like it cut in squares) and my boyfriend got the Ruby Rae which in all honesty was absolutely fantastic. I myself am not a fan of raw tomatoes or tomatoes in general but it tasted amazing on this pizza. They put a generous amount of toppings and lots of cheese, huge plus. Theres chili flakes and Parmesan in shakers already on the table for you so you can put as much as you’d like. I’m only putting 4 stars for service, feel like my server never really came around, instead I had the host come to my table a few times. Had to wait about 15 mins after finishing for my server to come out and get us the check. She was sweet just not very attentive. Never offered a single refill even though both of our glasses were empty. Great pizza just not huge on service.
