Always enjoy visiting here. I recommend to take the boat safari to the top of the park, see the birds of prey show (this is a must in my opinion) and then make your way back down the park. 1 star removed because of the restaurant. 1 person cooking per station during peak season really isn’t a good choice. The workers were incredibly stressed and the customers weren’t making their life easier by complaining. Otherwise the food was good.

Absolutely amazing place!! There’s so much stuff to do for kids, we were out from morning till 10pm at night. All of the staff was soo lovely and helpful and kind! Made us feel so welcome everywhere we went. Magical place full of activities, can’t believe I only just found this place! There’s safari park, beach with play park indoors and outdoors, swimming pools with slides, disco and shows for kids, you can hire bikes, kayaks, paddle boards or just chill in a super nice pub/restaurant while kids run around, it’s all secure and safe.

A perfect place to spend time with family or friends. This time we chose the walking option. We saw all the animals whose signs we passed. Although they have a lot of space, you can still see them in smaller or bigger groep. There are many places along the way where you can stop and sit for a moment. Honestly, I even felt a little sorry for those who chose the car safari when I saw the line of cars. It was a great time, and I think it won't be our last visit to this place.

Had so much fun here. There are many different kinds of animals from all over the world. The only think i did not like was the big birds in cages which should not be allowed. Otherwise it was most certainly worth the trip.

Wow. Words can't describe how amazing this place. Huge safari like in Africa, especially the rooms with animals view - amazing! Please note that the heating system not working 100% as expected, I was cold a little bit, especially in the bathroom and they doesn't have bathrobes. The breakfast is great! A plenty of things to do in the safari!

An unforgettable day at Beekse Bergen Safari Park! The safari experience is incredible seeing lions, giraffes, camels, and rhinos up close feels like being in Africa. The park is spacious, well organized and offers different ways to explore, from car to boat and bus. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is perfect for families or anyone who loves wildlife. A unique experience in the Netherlands that I highly recommend!!!!

The Fort and the caves are awesome! Our two tour guides explained very well and they transmit their passion on doing their job. It was a really nice visit.

Lovely afternoon out. Did a combined tour with this and the caves. Our guide Luella was very knowledgeable and friendly, we learned a lot and were entertained throughout.

Really cool place to visit as it is rich in history and you get a nice view of the surrounding areas. You can walk on your own but to be honest the best thing you can do is get a guided tour. We had a very lady guiding us and telling us the purpose of the place and how it was used back in the day. Tour wasn't very long and you can get another tour in the underground exhibit on a different theme. All in all I recommend this experience to enhance your knowledge of Maastricht.

Our excursion was in English. Although our guide was not a native English speaker, his story was coherent and interesting. It was a please listening to our guide because he was passionate about the fort’s history! I’m sorry I didn’t ask for his name. If you are interested in architecture or engineering, it’s definitely worth visiting. It might amaze you to see how smart those people were so many centuries ago!

Well worth a visit, this place was amazing. Would advise to dress accordingly as it is cool once you are underground. Our tour guide was amazing and extremely knowledgeable. The history behind these tunnels makes them almost magical and with the artwork dotted throughout makes it all the more interesting. Our tour took just under an hour and we'll worth the money. Unfortunately it did not include the vault so if you want to see that check your booking and I believe it is another 40mins.

My visit to Sint Pieter Fort and the North Caves at Maastricht Underground was truly an unforgettable experience! It amazing how the Dutch people repurposed their old church and became a such beautiful bookstore. The title of most beautiful bookstore in the world is second to none! The old church Become a bookstore is much better some of the other churches became a bar and restaurant or some became an apartments if you asked me! You can slap have a cup of coffee or something in the back of the bookstore to admire the old church of the bookstore or the book you just purchased!

Boekhandel Dominicanen is truly one of the most beautiful bookstores I have ever visited. Located inside a stunning former church, it offers a magical atmosphere enhanced by colorful lighting that makes the place even more captivating. The book selection is broad and well curated. However, it can get very crowded at times, especially on weekends, likely because many tourists come just to look around, so going up the stairs can feel quite packed and a bit uncomfortable.

AMAZINNNGGG PLACEEE UGHHHH!! Booksa + nice architecture / interior = perfect combo!!!!! I would spend hours here just taking picture videos while reading some books <3 the collection is also quite complete with a lot of english books 📚 they have also a lot of stationary and souvenirs <3

Such an amazing place!! It was my first time visiting bookstore that used to be a church. There are murals on the dome and beautiful, calm marble details near the bookshelves. Even though I didn’t find a book I wanted, just sitting in the cafe with a coffee and soaking in the atmosphere was a joy in itself. The café takes last orders at 5:45 PM. It looks like they only serve non-alcoholic drinks at the moment, it’d be perfect if they offer a glass of 🥂 too!

Bookstore located in a former church in the pedestrian city center of Maastricht. The place is more than magnificent and very pleasant, there is also a cafe where you can sit down to have a coffee or other. I stop by every time I visit this city. I highly recommend it.

If you can do take a moment to stop and admire this cathedral inside and out. It’s particularly beautiful when seen lit up in the evening. If you fancy attending gluten and dairy free patisserie, the cafe opposite - Isabella - in the main square is pricey but delicious

The cathedral is a UNESCO World Heritage site for a reason. Its mix of Carolingian, Gothic, and Baroque architecture feels like a living timeline. The Palatine Chapel, with its golden mosaics and octagonal dome, is breathtaking — especially when sunlight streams in and makes the colors glow like liquid gold. One of the highlights is the Imperial Throne of Charlemagne, where history literally sits before you. Imagine emperors being crowned here; it’s humbling and kind of surreal. The cathedral treasury is also incredible — relics, chalices, and artifacts that tell stories you won’t find in guidebooks. Accessibility is good, though it can get crowded, especially during weekends or special services. That said, the quiet corners and chapels give you space to reflect, take photos, or just marvel at the centuries-old craftsmanship. If you pay €1 you can take photos and videos.

This cathedral is most famous for being the resting place of Charlemagne - the emperor who defined the shape and character of medieval Europe. Here is also the coronation church of 31 German kings from 936 to 1531. The cathedral is a blend of history of architechture and decoration: Carolingian, Byzantine, Gothic, Neo-gothic, Baroque. Every detail is amazing

didn't get time to go inside but it's a great place to sit and look at the stunning architecture, the town is nice and the sandwiches from one of the many coffee shops was great, really enjoyed the place.

A historic building in the heart of Aachen, dating back to the 14th century. Its Gothic facade features statues of 50 kings, and inside, the Coronation Hall has murals about Charlemagne’s life. Visitors can also climb the Granus Tower for city views. The hall still functions as the city’s administrative center. A good spot to explore for those interested in history and architecture.

Our final stop was a quick visit to the Town Hall, Rathaus, an incredibly ornate 14th century Gothic building that incorporated some parts of Charlemagne's Palace and an earlier Roman building. There were weddings taking place while we visited but the rooms we saw were beautifully ornate and largely 19th century decoration. There were great views across to the cathedral and replicas of the Imperial German Regalia that are currently held in Vienna, including the Holy Lance, allegedly the spear of Longinus that was used to stab Jesus. We also watched archive footage of the results of Allied bombing in WW2 and the subsequent siege of the city until the Americans liberated it in 1944. I can imagine the restoration work was stupendous and the cathedral still bears the scars of war today. There is an information board in each room that includes a section in English. I'd allow 30 minutes for the visit and entry was 10 Euros.

The City Hall looks great from the outside, but I'm just going to talk about the huge sand arena in place for the summer. It's brilliant and such a great resource to have in a city centre. I wish more cities would do this. The kids loved it and we came back a second day.

Building looks good, but entrance fee is not worth it. Four plain square rooms to see downstairs which look fine but aren’t particularly interesting, and a small glass display of replica Crown Jewels upstairs.

It's a must-visit for history buffs, architecture lovers, and curious travelers. It was originally built in the 14th century, with major renovations in the 16th wnd 19th centuries. One of the most famous features of the Rathaus is its Renaissance facade, built in 1625-1632. It features 14 standstone reliefs depicting Holy Roman Emperors, starting with Charlemagne. Severely damaged during WW2, the Rathaus was carefully rebuilt between 1949 and 1953, preserving its original architecture elements. The Coronation Facade was dismantled and stored during the war to protect it from bomb damage- a remarkable effort in cultural preservation. Still functions as the seat of local government and city administration. Hosts the Aachen Peace Prize. Have a good time in Aachen!

The city hall Aachen is the heart of the city. You can find "Rathaus Aachen", historical church of Aachen "Aachener Dom", and many restaurants, cafes and ice-cream shops, you can sit outside and enjoy the view. You are close to the shopping street of the city where you can find almost all fashion brands. You are close also to many hotels. You can easily take the bus from either "elisenbrunnen" or "Aachen bushof" to anywhere you want even to the Netherlands 🇳🇱 or Belgium 🇧🇪.

The City Hall is really pretty with a very historical exterior. If you visit Aachen, you will have to go there anyway. The bug hall in front is such a beautiful place to admire, especially on a sunny day.

We had a wonderful time at Ouwehands Zoo in Rhenen! It’s a truly beautiful zoo – very clean, well-maintained, and the enclosures are thoughtfully designed and spacious. Of course, the highlights were the pandas and koalas, but we were also really impressed by the huge bear forest with a kind of hanging bridge that lets you walk above the enclosure – such a unique and beautiful experience! What made it extra special for us was how family-friendly the park is. There are several playgrounds throughout the zoo, and the giant indoor playground was the absolute highlight for our son. Honestly, that alone would have made the visit worth it! It was quite busy during our visit (summer holiday season), but there were plenty of parking spaces, and the great thing is that the parking is right next to the zoo – no long walk required. The only thing we found a bit disappointing was the lack of English translations. While we didn’t expect everything to be in German, it would’ve been great to have English descriptions alongside the Dutch animal information signs. Also, the zoo map was only available in Dutch, which made it a bit harder to navigate or understand the details. In most German zoos, having English maps and signs is quite common nowadays, so we missed that here. Still, it’s a fantastic zoo overall, and we highly recommend a visit – especially for families!

Went on a weekday in November, pretty quiet. Even though it is not one of those big zoos we spent a good 6 hours there and still did not get bored. The kids liked especially the big covered playground area, which I understood was the biggest in Europe for a while (maybe it still is). Nice one which I would like to visit again.

first off- I feel like the zoo is relatively small for a €30 entry fee p/p, within 2 hours we'd seen everything, and we even went out of our way to look at every single animal. the person at the ticket counter also wouldn't allow me to buy a disabled ticket even though I had a hidden disabilities card and autipas with me- and on both sites it says both of those are legible for disabled tickets in all places that offer such tickets. the animals are cute and the visibility is quite good, but some of them looked quite stressed. the polar bears were walking in small circles the whole time we were there, and the brown bears were also pacing back and forth and in circles in front of the closed gate to the other side of the enclosure. I've also seen a few other animals just pace or sit in front of closed gates leading to the other part of their enclosure- which makes me wonder why they don't just keep the gates to other enclosure parts of the same animal open at all times when they're not cleaning it out? overall I'm not sure it was worth €70 for only 2 people (including a parking ticket) when you'll maybe be busy for about 2 hours even while walking at a normal pace and visiting every single enclosure.

This is a fantastic zoo. We had a fab day. Some of the enclosures are so well thought out, especially the bears with a kid's rope bridge to walk above them. The play area is the best I've ever seen too. Amazing day out, would definitely recommend.

Went with my boyfriend and had a pretty decent time there. We got the day pass + night light ticket, and here is our experience: Staff: 5/5 Everybody was very friendly & helpful and they were everywhere so if you have a question or need help they’re always there Vibes: 4/5 They put a lot of effort in decorating the zoo so it has a nice ambiance & the enclosures were pretty decent. Toilets were clean despite how crowded it was! The light attractions were also really pretty & you can see nocturnal animals starting their day after 5 pm Animals: 2/5 Nothing I’ve never seen before except for the pandas & polar bear. The pandas were adorable, but they seem super bored & there’s a lack of interaction between the zookeepers and these pandas. They were just kind of left there like a goldfish in a bowl… Same with the elephants. We saw them literally plucking grass in their enclosure because of how bored they were. They should learn a thing or two from more interactive zoos like Bali Zoo where they allow feeding sessions (they sold carrots that we could feed to the elephants & we had breakfast with orangutans) so the more intelligent animals don’t go crazy bored in their enclosures. They need intellectual stimulation too!! The worst part that kind of ruined the day for me was the single polar bear. I don’t know the story behind why that ice-bear is in the middle of Netherlands, but the bear was clearly depressed (& probably way too hot). The polar bear enclosure looked unkept and it had a pool completely green & filled with algae, so it can’t even swim to cool off. Even if the polar bear was under rehabilitation for something, it deserves a cleaner enclosure (and a proper way to cool off, especially in the summer!) Tbh I think it’s better off to send the polar bear to a zoo somewhere with a more comfortable climate for them, like maybe Finland or Norway. Polar bears shouldn’t live out in the open in such a hot European climate when they’re used to -20 degrees Celsius or less (imagine being forced to live somewhere where it’s 20 degrees Celsius hotter than what you’re used to). I find it ironic that they claim to be an ‘Arctic Ambassador’ when their polar bear is so sadly curled up in the corner like that… Food: 3/5 Standard zoo food. They sell snackbar foods like burgers & frikandel. A bit overpriced for what they are so I suggest to bring your own food and drinks to the park (yes, they allow this) Others: They have a designated playground area for children and they tried to put a frog enclosure next to the playground. The frogs were nowhere to be seen Overall: 3/5 Pretty good zoo for children but the condition of their animals is slightly worrying

Beautiful settings. A various range of animals and shows. Large place and loads to do for all ages. We really loved it 😍❤️.

Nice zoo. Many of the animal enclosures are large, and scenic for both the animals and visitors. If you're coming with kids, there are also many playgrounds integrated throughout the park.

Definitely one of the most impressing museum visits in my life! Very modern exhibition concept with a lot of interactive and thrilling displays and edutainment stations! Being virtually INSIDE a D-Day landing craft was definitely an experience to remember!!! This museum ist a MUST SEE!!!

Amazing museum full of vehicles and equipment with pretty well done prepared movies to watch. Museum might seem expensive but it is worth this money. I highly recommend taking some time to check every exhibition and watch movies and experience Operation Overlord.

Great exhibits, some very interesting original items, the short interactive exhibits were very nicely done. Most everything was in Dutch or German but they offer free wifi which we used to translate.

Amazing experience and must see for any history enthusiasts. Planes, tanks and other large militaries equipment, guns, shells… you name it. I particularly liked the d day experience (included), as 4D theatre. Lovely pls e and highly recommend.

Amazing place, probably my 4th time I have been here. Incredible selection of vehicles and armored tanks, planes, motorcycles guns, cannons and much much more. Truly an incredible collection and well arranged!

Excellent museum with a great atmosphere and impressive exhibits. Everything is well presented, informative, and easy to explore. You can really feel the history while walking through — definitely worth a visit!

This is a fantastic museum with lots to see and do. I would estimate the museum has around 70-100 military vehicles, including a Horsa Glider, Landing Craft, Tiger Tank, Churchill Tank, Mini Submarine and Mitchell Aircraft. There are many, many others. There are a myriad of shells and armaments, weapons, collectible memorabilia, etc and some very interesting videos. The interactive Atlantic Wall display is incredible. The café is well stocked and prices are very reasonable. The shop is good, but is aimed at the younger visitor. I have two small requests: 1. Please include British descriptions on all of your items on display. 2. In the large interactive room showing the video including the Berlin Wall (I think it was called The Silent/quiet ???), there are some stroboscopic effects that could affect some visitors. A warning sign may be useful. Many thanks.

This is a wonderful zoo, one of the best I have visited in Europe. The forest in the middle of the park is amazing and very diverse in terms of plants and animals, and there's also a waterfall. A lot of animals had newborns, which was very cute. The sea zone was very beautiful, of course limited in size as it is not the main focus of the park (if you like water animals, make sure you visit the one in Barcelona). Downsides: too many people which created crowds, and no staff around the park to help.

Such a beautiful and fun zoo! Would definitely recommend for adults and for children. As an adult that likes to go to zoo’s that are not just for kids, this is a great pick! A full day is needed to visit here and be prepared for different types of biomes, this is the most interesting ! There are restaurants located around, and I would recommend the Bush restaurant! The food is quite pricy for what it is.

Amazing!!! The first steps didn’t seem like it will be much yet quickly we realized how well thought is whole place. Really you see the animals and theirs wellbeing is the highest priority. Still all is designed in such smart way that you able to observe them in awe! True treat for families but I guess it’s also a great idea for a date or solo experience. Enjoyed tons🙌🏼 There are parts of it fully in dome that creates full experience of natural habitats- if you don’t look up it’s easily to feel like in a jungle or on some tropical place. Amazing!

I went their with my wife and daughter( 2 years old). The park has huge car parking (paid) with electric car chargers. Overall the park is huge and very well built. There are enough benches to sit and observe. The observation decks are very well positioned, and the safari restaurant has amazing views of the African safari lands. Their is great variety of food options, even for kids. The food was lekker. Overall the entire experience was just amazing.

This was a wonderful zoo experience. One the rare “cageless” habitats and it was wonderful to see the animals roam around in rather large habitats. Beautifully designed, and aesthetically pleasing. Parking costs 9 EUR and approx 29 EUR for a single ticket for adults. It can take somewhere between 3-4 hours to leisurely see all exhibits

Always nice to go here..! Is calm and peaceful… The animals are well taken care of and monkeys are my favorite! Mangrove is my favorite place to visit… It a nice funny cute and a great zoo to visit

It was okay. It's a large area where you can walk. But some animals were hard to see (Chita, the lions), and some places were closed off completely, so we didn't see any animals there. There's a nice big restaurant on the premises, and some good souvenirs.

Incredible experience! So much amazing history to discover and many interactive exhibits like the weavers and the blacksmiths. The grounds are stunning and expansive. You can tour the grounds on the trolley which is super fun for kids. There is an entire section of the ground dedicated to kids activities. The restaurant and Cafe was really nice with many vegan options including pastries! The gift shop is very nice with many good Dutch gifts.

In my opinion the best museum in the Netherlands, bar none. Well worth the ticket price and whatever the train costs coming here. The entire museum is extremely well maintained. Facilities are unbelievably sanitary. The food served in the "restaurant corner" of the museum is reasonably priced and mouth-watering good. The fries are a must try. The exhibits offer a detailed look into history, with content written in both Dutch and English. The experience is thoughtfully divided into sectors, each containing exhibits from different time periods. Historic trams run frequent headways in a circular route around the museum. These are free to board and a wonderful way to have a look around. Of course, the museum is 100% walkable. 10/10 experience. The day went by in a flash - will be back.

The Netherlands Open Air Museum in Arnhem is a fantastic destination for families with children. The open layout gives kids plenty of space to run and explore, and there’s something exciting to discover around every corner—from old windmills and traditional farmhouses to vintage trams that take you around the museum grounds. It feels like stepping into a living storybook of Dutch history. What really makes it special for children is how interactive and hands-on everything is. There are live demonstrations of old crafts like weaving, blacksmithing, and even bread baking—many of which kids can try themselves. Throughout the museum, staff dressed in historical clothing bring the past to life with friendly explanations and fun activities. There’s also a playground area and child-friendly exhibits that keep little ones engaged and curious. The museum is very well-organized, with clean facilities, family-friendly paths for strollers, and several places to eat or picnic. It’s the kind of place where both kids and adults can learn, play, and enjoy a full day outdoors together. If you’re visiting the Netherlands with your family, this museum is an absolute must-see!

Lovely place in Holland. If you have the museum card and you go with your family, this is a great place to spend the day at. The nature is beautiful, the tram is fun for the kids, you could see farm animals and enjoy the different family activities. I love the Dutch concept of having open air museums where you can see the history of the country.

Beautiful museum about Dutch history and how people were living in the past century. We visited during a busy weekend but because the size of the park it does not feel crowded. A tram can be used to travel quickly from one location to another. Not only the buildings are in perfect condition, but also the landscape, the gardens, the trams etc. are well maintained. Definitely worth a visit.

We visited on our way from Germany to the ferry from Europort. It's a lovely place for a few hours, lots to see. Very knowledgeable staff/volunteers to tell you about the life etc.

For peaceful weekends, I recommend to visit here. It was an impressive and pleasant sightseeing.

Amazing experience. If you have a stroller, they will get on the stroller. They provide free anti-primate bags to put your stuff in. You get to be so close to the animals! There are activities throughout the park to keep kids entertained and engaged. As well as fun facts and other educational things along the way.

Apenheul is a beautiful park with great visibility of the monkeys and superb, friendly staff. The landscaping is lovely, and the whole place feels clean and well-kept. The only downside: the paper maps often end up soggy in the water, which makes things messy — a digital app or clearer route signs would be a big improvement. Avoid going in the summer break — it’s just too crowded and very loud. For children who get easily overstimulated, a weekday in low season is a much better choice. The food is below average, even though there are plenty of food squares to choose from. The park also has several playgrounds that are both challenging and fun for younger kids, which is a real plus for families. The walk through the park is long but very scenic if you enjoy nature. Parking looks like it could be chaotic on busy days, but thanks to the staff’s excellent handling and clear protocols, there’s really no room for chaos — they keep everything moving smoothly. One tip: don’t bring small items in your pockets (sunglasses, phones, etc.). Consider adding a small travel lock to your bag, otherwise you’ll be required to carry one of the free Apenheul monkey-proof bags. They’re big enough, but when packed too heavy, they can become a real strain on your shoulders. All in all, a beautifully maintained park with wonderful staff and a unique experience — best enjoyed outside peak season.

Apenheul is an absolutely amazing place — it’s worth visiting Apeldoorn just for this park! The entire experience was fantastic. Even on a very hot day, the park feels pleasant and refreshing thanks to the tall trees and natural shade everywhere. You can walk among various monkey species freely, and it’s incredible how close you can get to them while still respecting their space. The animals seem very well cared for, which really adds to the experience. One small downside: the video shown during the gorilla feeding session was only in Dutch with German subtitles. It would have been more inclusive if English subtitles were also available. The live presentation was also in Dutch, but considering that most visitors are from the Netherlands and many are children, it’s understandable. If you’re anywhere nearby, I highly recommend visiting. A truly unique and enjoyable experience!

We visited Apenheul and absolutely loved it. The monkeys are adorable 😍🐒 and you can see many of them up close as they move freely around the park. There are also other animals, like capybaras. The whole park is very well equipped, with plenty of rest areas and even sunscreen dispensers available throughout. Everything is clean, well maintained, and organized. The staff is friendly, very attentive to both visitors and the animals, always ready to help. The gorilla presentation was a real highlight. It’s definitely a great place for families with children, but we’re a couple in our twenties and we had a fantastic time too 😊😊

Apenheul – Where the Monkeys Are Better Behaved Than Some Visitors Apenheul was pure magic. The park (and the nearby public park) is spotless, beautifully kept, and just a short walk from a spacious parking area. The real highlight? Dozens of monkey species roaming free, completely at ease – it’s like stepping into their world instead of peering at them from behind glass. At the entrance, you get a free monkey-proof bag to protect your belongings from curious little hands. You can skip it if you’ve already made your own “thief-proof” setup (think carabiners locking your zippers) – but trust me, the monkeys will test your security system. Friendly staff are everywhere, making sure both monkeys and humans stay safe – a small miracle considering there are still the occasional unsupervised kids and the inevitable wheeled trailers people insist on dragging along. The feeding sessions are a must. Check the website or park guide for times – you’ll learn a lot and it’s a joy to watch. Huge applause for the staff, who clearly care deeply for the animals and create an experience that feels respectful, educational, and unforgettable.

Amazing experience. It was a bit crowded, but there wasnt a long wait to get in. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. The habitats were spacious, clean, and well-maintained. Very educational and unlike any "zoo" experience I've had in the past.

The Cologne Cathedral is absolutely amazing and breathtaking! Its enormous size and stunning Gothic architecture make it one of the most impressive landmarks I’ve ever visited. Even though it’s often crowded, everything feels well organized, and the atmosphere remains peaceful and respectful. It’s also right next to the Hauptbahnhof (main train station), so it’s very easy to reach — perfect for a quick stop or a longer visit. The gift shop is lovely, with nice souvenirs and books about the cathedral’s history. I especially recommend visiting on rainy days — the interior feels even more magical and calming, with the sound of rain outside and the light coming through the stained glass windows. Truly a must-see spot in Cologne!

During our Rhine River Cruise, we came here to see this great piece of Gothic architecture. We came with our guide. Since they are not allowed inside, we saw it ourselves. It took more than 600 years to complete this magnificent Church. It was declared World Heritage Site in 1996. It is most visited landmark in Germany. More than 6 million tourist visit every year. It is the third tallest Church in the world. This medieval Church is continuously renovated. It is very beautiful from inside. The stained window glasses and other piece of art and paintings are magnificent. It's open from 10 to 5 from Monday to Saturday and 1 to 4 on Sundays. Minimum one hour is required to see it properly. The trolley bags and other big bags are not allowed inside.

We came for the Christmas markets but were wowed by this cathedral. Absolutely stunning. It is free, which is amazing!!! We walked right in. We did pay €20 for the whole family to go up the south tower. We did not buy these ahead. It was a little tight up the stairs. 535 of them. We saw the bells and they rang when we were by them, which was cool.

One of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever seen. Cologne Cathedral isn’t just a building — it dominates the city. The closer you stand, the more unreal it feels: every detail, every shadow, every tower looks carved with impossible precision. Inside, the atmosphere drops into silence instantly. It’s calm, powerful, almost overwhelming in the best way. If you’re in Cologne, this is the one place you absolutely can’t skip. Truly unforgettable.

Location is convenient along the river so if one is coming from a river cruise docking, can walk over in minutes. There are a lot of people, so would recommend booking tickets ahead of time. We decided to go late and managed to get 2 of the last 3 tickets within the 2 hrs before closing. Do note that there are discount tickets closer to end of day for a reason. The stations close half an hour before the entire museum close (6pm close then 5:30pm stations are cleared). With the amount of people, it is hard to go through everything before stations stop if it’s close to closing time. We went on a bad day: close to closing time, weekend, and a day where shops in the town are closed for All Saints’ Day, so everyone went to the museum. The layout of the museum does not allow for multiple ways to get to different floors/rooms. There is only 1 elevator for guests to use. So it will be a long wait going between floors and stations to get any free chocolate (we got none… too long of lines and stations were closing). But overall, still a good place to visit. Would just suggest to not go late in the day but more during daytime in a non-weekend, that should make the experience more enjoyable.

I had a wonderful time at the chocolate museum. Plenty of rooms with easy-going info about the origins of chocolate, cocoa, its processing, packaging, transport, and commercialization. You can see in loco a section of a production line and taste a sample of chocolate. Also some interesting historical info on where it all began. It is a great museum for families, kids or only adults. plenty of games and experiments for the young folks. I was so entertained that I almost forgot to take photos. If you are in town don’t miss this museum.

The entrance was guarded by a tall female staff who looked very angry and not at all welcoming. The museum content was very extensive, curated with great detail and academic accuracy, very educational. You also get to try the milk chocolate as it was produced. We only wish there was a water fountain or at least a vending machine that sells water because the chocolates were quite rich and sweet. The cafe staff were very attentive and hospitable, price was reasonable. The entire experience has been most positive but was ruin at the end. I was waiting for my family who went to the washroom by the main door. The museum was closing in a few minutes, I wanted to go to the bench next to the door to put my coat on. The same tall angry female employee from the ticket entrance came to me, wouldn’t allow me a moment for coat and ask me to go out the door because “we are closing in a minute”. There were still people in the gift shop, at the coat check and coming from the bathrooms at the time. Being the only Asian female in the hall I felt unfairly targeted and discriminated.

It was in the year 2025, during Christmas, I was exploring the very famous Christmas markets in Köln. It was extremely cold and I needed some hot chocolate. There was none available in the market. So we decided to step inside the cafe and we were awestruck by their service. Even though itwas heavily crowded, we got two seats quickly and ordered their hot chocolate and banana waffle. The hot chocolate was extremely delicious, particularly with the cream on top. The waffle had one white chocolate ice cream, something that I had never tasted before and it was extremely delicious. Best part is that the prices were extremely reasonable. I would go there again and agan.

We visited the Lindt Chocolate Museum on Sunday the 23rd, and it was very busy. Luckily, Max, one of the friendly floor walkers, helped us book tickets online via QR code. The museum was more about learning the history and process of chocolate than eating it, but there were a few tasty samples. The highlight was the wafer dipped in the chocolate fountain—absolutely delicious. Pro tip: when you reach the machinery section, head to the right side for two sample opportunities, as most people go left. Overall, informative and enjoyable, though not quite what I expected.

For 18 euros it’s not the best value for money. There was a good amount of information to read around the museum and the chocolate making room was incredible. However, it was very busy causing a huge amount of queuing and not much chance to enjoy the experience. The free chocolates were a nice touch but for the price of admission there was very little. Gift shop at the end had lots of choice but definitely pricey.

The museum is very interesting but has however a few points for improvement that would make the experience more pleasant. I visited today (23/11/25) at 12. Firstly, for the entire duration of the tour, we couldn't find a single toilet. Maybe it was not properly signed? At the ticket counter, the the ticket officer was unbelievably rude and rushing to pay, even though there was no queue and I was just ensuring she understood the proper time slot that I wanted. Time slots are also another big problem. Unfortunately, the same time slot is allocated to more people than it should be allowed to. This leads to queues during the tour and you can't actually enjoy the experience at its fullest. Also, the crowd is not properly managed by the personnel (for example, the queues for the entry mixes with the ones for the museum cafè and cloakroom), leading to chaos. Neverthless, it was an enjoyable experience.

Love how this central station is extremely close to the famous Cologne Cathedral. You get out of the station and voila, the main landmark is there. I went around a little bit and it's quite dirty and smells urine and all other unpleasant ones. Otherwise, I was just happy at how convenient it was located to my main destination, which is the cathedral.

I love that you can see Koln Cathedral as soon as you step out of the train station. And that you're right in the heart of old town, an easy walk to restaurants, shops, and cultural attractions. There were a few coin operated rides in the train station to keep my little boy happy while we waited. I believe there were also local cafes but I just had Starbucks this time.

The train station is okay and is located well but… Why is there ONE BATHROOM?? The queue was so long and I just needed to go :( there are also a lot of druggies and strange people around the station and a lot of drunks.

One of the most beautiful Central Stations (if not the best) in Nordrhein-Westfalen. From there you have multiple possibilities with the tram, S-Bahn or subway. You can also take a walk around to see the old city. The cathedral in front of it is a MUST SEE!

Köln Hauptbahnhof is easily one of Europe's most visually stunning railway stations, thanks to its breathtaking location right next to the magnificent Kölner Dom, a UNESCO World Heritage site. A great place to arrive and depart. This station is located in the middle of everything. There is the famous Cathedral, history, a museum and lots of shopping areas with restaurants. A short walk & you can walk beside the River or across the bridge .

In the old town of Bonn lies Beethoven's house, now a museum. Across 3 floors, you can find instruments, old manuscripts, paintings, and sculptures, and learn about how he became the legendary composer he is. I found Beethoven-Haus to be slightly underwhelming, as it was not interactive and small—I expected at least a piano to play on. The "special exhibition" was not too special at all, as it only had abstract paintings and a small sculpture. On the bright side, the "music hall" played pieces by Beethoven and offered a place to sit and relax. If you are a fan of his, I recommend visiting. If not, don't waste your time as it will only bore you.

I just love Beethoven's music and was delighted to visit his place of birth in Bonn and now they have made it into a museum. A wonderful museum dedicated to Beethoven’s life and music. It’s filled with history, original manuscripts, and instruments. Walking through the rooms gives a deep sense of his journey and legacy. A must-visit for music lovers and anyone in Bonn.

Great collection of artefacts, well presented, with a very good app offering plenty of detail. 3 floors, plus a garden. He didn't live here many years but it's the only house left where he did. It's definitely possible to come away with a better understanding of the man. Recommend!

In my opinion, it’s a calm yet impressive stop that you should definitely make time for in the city. This house-museum, where Ludwig van Beethoven was born, is not just an ordinary place where you walk through a few rooms; it offers a well-curated exhibition that neatly tells the story of the composer’s life, his era and his music. During your visit, you can take a short breather in the courtyard and then complete the experience by listening to his works in the music room.

This place tells not only about Beethoven's life story, but also his struggles, his creative process, and his resistance to illness. There are 3 level floors and some rooms. The display of the objects are interesting. And they also have link to explain everything there. You can buy the ticket at the store infront of the house. It's about €14 per person. And you have to put you bags in the locker inside the store with €1 or €2 deposit.

Great place to visit in Bonn. Tour lasts around 50 minutes and you can see real partitures, objects and even personal items from Beethoven.

it was fascinating to step into Beethoven's birthplace. It was an educational trip, amazed on how the house is still well preserved. Dont forget to drop by when you are in Bonn.

This was one of the best museums I have ever visited. I loved every part of it. It was infomative and interactive. I would love to return in the future. I spent 1.5 hour just on the first floor. I could have spent 5 hours here, super interesting for someone who loves football. I highly recommend this to anyone who is interested in a more deepht history of the german football and in the football history in general.

As someone who doesn’t really follow football, I enjoy the history of the game and the passion of the supporters. This museum is really well done. The items on display are interesting and the accompanying descriptions are detailed slough to tell the story, but not so long that you get tired of reading them. While I didn’t understand the significance of the whole “1954 Miracle of Bern” that greets you at the start, as my visit progressed it made more sense, and upon completing my visit I think it was a great way to open. I’m thinking there may have been more excitement in the air had the German National Team made the Euro Cup final being played the next day (England v Spain). I’m sure I’d have loved it even more if I knew the names and the stories.

The German Football Museum in Dortmund is a must-visit for any football fan. It offers fascinating exhibits, interactive displays, and a deep dive into Germany’s rich football history. Modern, engaging, and full of emotion, a great experience for all ages

I have heard all about this place in Dortmund and wanted to see what all the hype was about. Having seen it, I was impressed and would recommend it even if you are not much of a soccer (or football in Europe) fan. I like soccer a bit, and coming from Australia to see museums like this one was refreshing and interesting how rich pieces of soccer history relating to the Germany national soccer team have been preserved and put into a museum. There is a section relating to FIFA World Cup history, UEFA Champions League, Europa League, Bundesliga etc so there is no shortage of things for you to see. You can do a self-tour for a reasonable price which is quite good, and again I would recommend it even if you are not much of a fan of European soccer. For those who are fanatics, this is a must see place if you are in or near Dortmund. You really cannot miss this place, once you get out of the Hbf (central train station) you just cross the road and the museum is to your right. There is no need to purchase tickets in advance.

A very cool experience, which takes you through the history of German football with original exhibits from all times, but especially with the trophies from the World Cups won. A very interesting 3D cinema. and even a useful bistro on the way out :)

Great experience and stunning stuff to see. Fantastic animations and a pretty cool 3D movie to watch. Staffing was very friendly and supportive. There was no wait at all during the week in December. Would highly recommend for true soccer fans especially 2014 mold cup is a big theme for this museum. Ticket prices are ok.

Beautiful lake. There is facility of boating in the lake which costs around 10Euro. You can sit near the lake and see the ducks and other birds. Around the lake, one can go for walk or jogging.

Hardly ten minutes on foot from Prinzipalmarkt, Aasee is a 40-hectare man-made lake beginning on cusp of the old town and continuing southwest for over two kilometres. The lakefront is cushioned by a broad band of inviting parkland, laid with lawns, trees and public art, and travelled by cyclists, joggers and strolling families. There are restaurants and cafes at regular intervals and a raised terrace in the modern complex on the north shore, where you can also hire a pedal boat for self-navigated trip around the lake. At this spot you’ll find the jetty for SOLAARIS, a solar-powered boat that ferries people from the city centre to the Allwetterzoo on the west shore.

Really awesome and beautiful lake. Worth a trip, either for a walk along the bank or to take a little boat and paddle along. We choose the latter, a bit tiring but really worth it!!

there was a festival at the day I arrived, so it was really crowded, full of people everywhere, but after that it was so peaceful there, the air was fresh and the water was clean, it was just so nice to sit there and enjoy the sunshine, both day and night views were so beautiful!! Hamburg is definitely one of my favorite places in Europe!

The port is just huge! We took a tour on a boat for 20€ in order to admire the majesty of the cranes and the huge ships parked on the deck being loaded by containers. There are so many things to see but you need a guide to get the full experience

Seeing water flow around is satisfying and very beautiful, Hamburg was such a good experience. Go to the elbphilharmonie and watch the beautiful view of the port of Hamburg and entrance is free, if you have kids you can use the lift, if you boat trip at night is a bonus and costs around 20€, then a bus trip during the day also costed around 18€ for 2 hours and I must say everything was worth it

One of the most beautiful poet I have ever been. Its is so lively, you can see tons of containers, cruise ships. If you are going to Germany, make sure to add hamburg harbour in your to do list and also, have a cruise tour. Its really worth trying.

One of the favorite places for a sunday stroll. Plenty things to see. Make sure to catch the ferry 62 for a round trip on the river allowing you to see things from different perspective. Moreover there are plenty of places to eat a nice "Fischbrötchen"!

One of the biggest and most important ports in Northern Europe. A must see when in a Hamburg. Place is really cool and if you’re in luck you’ll catch 2 musicians jamming and rocking some tunes like we found. Don’t leave Hamburg without seeing it!

Variety and overcrowd in such a narrow tunnel, and amazingly remained order. We took ship tour instead of strolling along the pier. Thereby we could have an overall idea about the harbor area and came with some great buildings to appreciate. For instance, Elbphilharmonie ! 🙂

Beautiful spot next to the South entrance of the Alter Elb Tunnel, and perfect if you want a panoramic view to the Hamburg waterfront on the North Side. If you’re up for it, you can also go and see the other photo spot next to the “Stage Theater An Der Elbe”, 20 minutes on foot. That will bring you closer to the Elbphilharmonie building.

One of the best hidden gems in Hamburg! You can walk here through the historic Elbtunnel or take a short ferry ride from Landungsbrücken. Once there, you get an amazing panoramic view of the harbor, the Elbphilharmonie, and the city skyline. Perfect spot for a quiet break, photos, or just watching ships go by. It’s peaceful and not too touristy. Highly recommend if you’re exploring the harbor area!

Easy to get here via the Elbtunnel (absolutely worth a visit) or a short ferry ride (included in the hvv day ticket). The view is really cool but partially obstructed. It would be ideal if the observation platform could be elevated and widened a bit. Otherwise an amazing view of the Hamburg skyline.

The best place to the get the most amazing view and experience of the Old Elbe Tunnel. German technology at its beautiful best since 1911. Free entry. Great concept for walking and cycling incorporated.

Or was a unique experience walking 450meters under the sea level in the tunnel originally constructed in 1911😍. Going up and down in such huge lifts is cool😇. The view of the port on Elbe on the other side of the tunnel is just wow. 😘

It was very impressive walking through the tunnel and ending up on the side to the viewpoint and seeing the seaport from the other side. It's a must-see when you visit Hamburg.

Wooooow! Amazing place with a unique experience that lets you walk through different parts of the globe. I loved how much attention to detail was put into everything, and the design often includes funny little scenarios—like taking a bath with a penguin or the sheep pyramid! It’s incredibly creative, yet the landscapes still feel realistic. The night and day versions of the cities are a very cool twist. Also, all the robotics and technology behind the functioning train system—without any crashes—is mind-blowing. I especially enjoyed getting a behind-the-scenes look at the newest addition. One thing to note: it’s a huge place to explore, so plan your visit accordingly to give yourself enough time to enjoy it without rushing from room to room. It can also get quite busy, so be patient and dedicate a full day if possible. There’s a café and food area if you want to take a break during your visit. Definitely recommend it! I’d love to come back and get even more lost in the details.

Absolutely one of the best attractions in Hamburg — and honestly, one of the most impressive exhibits I’ve ever seen. Miniatur Wunderland is massive and filled with astonishing detail. Most Germanic (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) countries and regions have their own area, complete with moving trains, planes, ships, lights, and tiny human stories happening everywhere you look. You could easily spend 3–4 hours here and still not catch everything. It’s not just for model train fans — it’s for anyone who appreciates creativity, craftsmanship, and a bit of magic. The nighttime lighting effects, airports, and little surprises hidden throughout make it incredibly fun for both kids and adults. It can get crowded, so I recommend booking a time slot early in the morning or later in the evening if you can. There’s a café inside with good snacks and drinks for a quick break between sections. Truly a must-see — whether you’re visiting Hamburg for a day or a week, Miniatur Wunderland is worth every minute.

Fantastic venue. Everything feels grounded and made by people who know what visitors will want to have or need. The exhibition itself is spectacular. Lots of details and stories are told ... Sometimes very hidden. Food is fine. Okay price. Reminded me of IKEA. There could be more washrooms. Also, the regular ticket isn't valid for reentry. That's a bit of a bummer since opening hours are until 1am.

Wanted to see this for years and now I've ticked it iff my bucket list! This is hands down the BEST minature railway and car layout you'll ever see! So much to see, you can easily spend all day here! Don't bring the missus, that will only reduce your fun! Definitely get tickets in advance, they sell out quick!

Its easy to see why this is fast becoming the top attraction in Hamburg. Its so much fun and that's consistent with everyone whonis wondering about around you. So much detail that ypu definitely need a visit to the bistro to allow your eyes and brain to catch up. Fantastic day out for everyone. Go. You will be talking about it for a while to come.

As a model railway enthusiast, I have been looking forward to coming to Hamburg to visit Miniatur Wunderland and the truth is that it worth it! I was delighted with the visit and I want to congratulate the whole team for all the impressive work that goes into every part of the model! The technique, the operation, the quality of the details, I love everything in general, especially the airport!! I also really enjoyed being able to eat in the Miniatur Wunderland restaurant. I am sure that in the future I will definitely visit this wonderful place again!

Great little “village” of designer brands from all categories, dotted with coffee shops and ice cream parlors. The shopping selection is impressive and well-organized, with something for every taste and budget. Food wise, it’s functional rather than fantastic but enough to keep you going. Don’t expect a culinary highlight. A well-maintained and pleasant place for a day of bargain hunting (weather permitting).

Nice place, many brand outlets are available here. Need to pick and choose for offers. Majorly good for shoes brands like Nike and Adidas, schedules particularly. Beautiful place very neat and clean, nice cozy restaurants and different options to pick and choose. Play area for the kids all in all very good place to visit with family.

Nice place....reminds me of Kildare Village in Ireland which is an excellent Outlet shopping experience. Some good dealson leather goods and clothes. Lots of hot dogs and beer as its Germany naturally but tasty!

I arrived early in the morning at Designer Outlet Neumünster, when all the shops were still closed and the place was quiet. The calm before the shopping rush gave me a chance to really take in the spacious layout and the modern design of the outlet. Located on Oderstraße 10, it’s about 45 minutes by car from Hamburg, and you can also get there by train from Hamburg Dammtor to Neumünster with a transfer, which takes around 1.5 hours. Even before the shops opened at 10 am, I noticed the huge parking area with plenty of spots, including premium and electric vehicle charging stations. Designer Outlet Neumünster is a pleasant place to visit with a good variety of shops and a clean, well-organized layout. While not everything is cheaper than elsewhere, you can still find some good deals if you take the time to look around. There are also a few places to eat, which makes it easy to spend a few hours here. Parking is simple and convenient, which is always a plus. Overall, a nice shopping experience

I recommend a WHOLE day here. It's really worth seeing all the stores, we spent 4.5 hours there and it wasn't enough. Coach, Aigner, Joop Mixed with Levi, Marco Polo , Wrangler ... A mix of high end brands and affordable brands. Highly recommend 🥳

This is probably the number 1 attraction in the area, and yet you don't need to be there long, and it definitely stirs mixed emotions. On the one hand, it's really cool to get to walk through a submarine, the engineering, the equipment, the pipes and valves, the electrics and communication, etc. are all fascinating. So, too, is a view of how the crew slept and ate in such a cramped space. But then the sombre thought that these guys were killing your guys, never really leaves you. Lest we forget.

A fantastic visit to the U-995 submarine in Laboe! An educational and informative experience about naval history and World War II. The submarine is clean and well-organized, with clear explanations. Perfect for families and history enthusiasts.

The Uboat gives an excellent insight to the life on the narrow boat during second worldwar and after. It is amazing to see how tight these places have been.

A worthy memorial and museum for sailers in WW1 and WW2. Nice view on the top, and U-996 was cool to walk through.

I used to have a great time here! I haven’t visit the place the last 2 years and I went last week and I was a bit disappointed! Bar is not open till 14:00 so better bring your own water! The programs in sauna are great but they made the rooms smaller as a result to be too crowded even in the week days! They talk without respect during the program so you can’t relax! Got more expensive for less offers! Still clean and fun but not how it used to be!

This is a nice place to go to. Definitely spent most time in the textile free sauna and spa area. There's definitely far more there than the breeze spa, so if you dare to bare (it all) definitely go there. A roof top pool and whirlpool, several saunas with different themes and timed sessions incl fruits. An outdoor area, cold plunge pool with views out to the ocean, different levels, zones etc. In the breeze spa (textile area) they do have a nice sauna that looks out onto the ocean which is nice, some relaxation areas and some other things you have to pay extra for. There's a bar/cafe and restaurant. 2 flumes although only one was in action, the green one, which was a lot of fun actually. -1 star just because there should be more on offer in the breeze spa and because the showers are up by the pool area not downstairs in changing room area. But all in all, would recommend. Staff were friendly, and as the only black people there I felt quite comfortable and people were friendly and helpful.

The water park could be a great experience. However, as you have to go to the pool from the changing rooms via the stairs, where people walk down with their street shoes, the Therme doesn't feel very hygienic. The pricing is unusual, as well. There's the choice between 2 hours, 4 hours and a full day, but not 3 hours. We decided to be there for 2 hours, but only managed to come out after 2 hours 20 minutes. Instead of exercising some goodwill, the payment for the difference amount up to the full 4 hours was requested, which left a sour feeling of being scammed, which shouldn't be the experience of a 'feel-good place'.

A huge sauna landscape. The best sauna relaxation paradise in Ostholstein or even Schleswig-Holstein. 36 euros for a full day is absolutely fine. Very nice thermal baths, easy to reach by car. Parking spaces available, you can have the park card validated in the thermal baths

Pretty thermal bathes with many options. The water temperature was okay, could be warmer though. The showers are not good located, they should be in the closing area. The sauna section was pretty good with many temperature options. The food in the restaurant was tasty at good prices, in competition with other restaurants outside. The view is wonderful and directly at the seaside. Friendly service.

Good place to spend some time with your friends or alone

The general experience was good,however we had a terrible experience in the restaurant. The gentleman who was preparing food in the restaurant was extremely rude to me and my family!!! He was shouting and making fun of people in a language that we understood. I have brought it to his attention where he completely ignored me. We will never go back just because of him!!! On top of everything, he was handling the food without any gloves and during the preparation touching his nose and hair while preparing the dishes.This is a very unsafe and unsanitary way of preparing someone's meal!

Knuthenborg Safaripark is located in a lush area near the town of Maribo in Denmark and is considered one of the largest safari parks in Northern Europe. The park is designed to provide a peaceful and pleasant environment for both day trips and extended stays.

Would have rated it with more stars but the new experience of seeing tigers and lions is not good. There is very less chance of seeing those animals. Not from the bridge nor from the panoramic window. The good parts are the dinosaur forest experience and the 2 roller coasters for the thrill.

Hopefully this review can help the park make some improvements. The plus side is that you are able to get quite close to the animals and see savanna wildlife in a beautiful setting. The down sides are worth keeping in mind should you plan a family trip there. We stayed there overnight for a quite substantial amount of money for 2 adults and one 7 year old - approx 900 euros. Barely any staff available in the park. Poor directions and signage to drive around. Would be helpful to get a recommended order for the visit. And more info on the animals. In the tent, you are expected to wash, dry and put away your dishes with the threat of a 60 euro fine should you miss doing that. Empty your trash. Put on and take away your bed linen just to mention a few things that you would expect to be included when paying that much for 1 night. The food we ordered to prepare in the tent was bland. Compared to skanes djurpark in Sweden I would say you get much less for your money. I wrote a review for that too so anyone can check it out. It’s a pity because it’s such a beautiful sanctuary.

We’ve been to the park a few times and it never lets us down. The park is massive and there’s lots to see and discover. You can bring your own food or eat at the various points in the park dedicated to it, apart from the animals that stroll freely on huge terrains there’s also a big kiddy’s park at the bottom that if you go at the designated hours there’s a small rollercoaster and the water log ride included in the entrance price( that if you buy it online you save 30% off the price ) . Very recommended.

Great place. Kind and service minded staff. We rented a cabin for 4 days. Bring food whit you, if you rent a cabin. There are many picknic tables around the park. So you can bring food whit you on a daily trip also. If you rent a cabin gate close at 17:00 and you can't drive in or out. But you can walk around the park and some hours drive around. Great place for family. We was here in end of season.(October) a little cold, but it's was okey.

It’s a like in the wild experience. It’s really a big park so you’ll need to have your car to go around and see the animals, there are also places you can walk to see other animals. Better start the tour in the morning if you’re planning for just a day trip but they also offer accommodation for families. There’s also different activities for kids. 🫶🏻💕

Absolutely fantastic experience. The animals roam free and there are plenty to see. For me the highlight was the dinosaur museum! With a collection of real bones from the biggest dinosaurs, you get to feel small next to these huge creatures. Would highly recommend. And remember to buy tickets online

Touring it with Ophelia Tours made the experience even more unforgettable - our guide Rene was knowledgeable, passionate, and made the entire visit engaging and fun. The cathedral’s sheer historical significance is staggering. It’s the final resting place of over 40 Danish monarchs, including Queen Margrethe I and King Christian IV. Walking through its chapels feels like stepping back in time - each one reflects the artistic styles and political shifts of the era in which it was built. From Gothic to Baroque to Renaissance, the cathedral is a tapestry of over 800 years of Danish history. The detail inside is breathtaking. The intricate tombs, the majestic organ, the soaring vaulted ceilings, and the peaceful crypts all tell powerful stories. I especially loved learning how the cathedral evolved over time and seeing how each generation left its mark - something you rarely get to witness so vividly in one place. Roskilde Cathedral is one of the most meaningful places to visit in Denmark, see a thousand years of Royal history, architectural masterpieces and art. Parking: limited parking available, 2hrs free parking and there will be a charge after that. Toilet is available inside the cathedral Disability access: may be a bit challenging as most areas have stairs. But may go around the plain floored part of the cathedral Original structure: Began as a church built by King Harald Bluetooth around 980 AD (made of wood). • The current brick cathedral replaced the earlier church around 1170–1280. • It was one of the first Gothic-style cathedrals in Scandinavia, built mainly from red brick, influencing church architecture across Northern Europe. 👑 Royal Burial Site • Since the 15th century, Roskilde Cathedral has been the main burial site for Danish monarchs. • Over 40 Danish kings and queens are buried here — including: • Queen Margrethe I (founder of the Kalmar Union) • King Christian IV • King Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid • Future monarchs, like Queen Margrethe II, also have tombs prepared there - refer to last photos Inside the Cathedral • Richly decorated altars, frescoes, and royal sarcophagi. • Features impressive organ pipes and historic tombs made of marble and alabaster. • Each royal chapel is unique, showing how Danish art and architecture evolved through the centuries.

A true marvel of a cathedral, a burial place for many Danish kings. We took a tour that took as to the cathedral on a bus. We arrived right before the opening, and the whole place without crowds that appeared a short while later. The place is rich in history but a tour guide really helps to appreciate that. Otherwise it may look like a regular church.

I live in Rome. Many people from all over the world come here. I know our beauties, yet Roskilde Cathedral is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. It's full of imposing, celebratory monuments. What you feel, standing there, is the solemnity of the Danish kingdom.

This cathedral is definitely worth visiting. The interior architectural is beautiful and this place holds so many of the kings grave and they are so beautiful!!! The entrance ticket is also more reasonable than the other places of interest...

Not far from the Roskilde Station. Going into Roskilde Cathedral feels like walking straight into the past. This is where Danish kings and queens have been buried for hundreds of years. You'll walk past royal tombs some in fancy and beautiful stone bed for a queen or king. The real "design" highlight is the royal chapels, which are like small museums themselves. Each one was built in a different time period, so you see everything from medieval wall paintings to huge, dramatic Baroque and Renaissance tombs.

At the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde, you’ll see the real Viking history — quite literally in pieces. The remains of five original Viking ships are displayed here, each with its own story of sea voyages, trade, and warfare. There are guided tours and activities running throughout the day, so it’s worth checking the schedule when you arrive. The guide shares the fascinating history behind the five ships that were discovered just a stone’s throw from here, in Roskilde Fjord. For those feeling hands-on, there’s a small workshop where you can try building your own miniature Viking ship. The kids especially loved hammering and sawing away. I had signed up for the sailing tour, where you get to sail on a Viking ship and even help raise the sail as part of the crew. Unfortunately, only four of us showed up out of the ten tickets sold — the rain kept the rest away. Without enough people for the weight balance, the trip had to be cancelled. Safe to say, I was pretty disappointed — it’s not every day you get to sail like a Viking. There’s also a restaurant by the museum. I tried the Viking platter — decent, but nothing to shout about.

Not far from the Copenhagen, about 30 mins train ride. Just a reminder, you have to walk about 30-40 mins from Roskilde Station to the Viking Museum. Arrived at the Roskilde Viking Ship Museum around mid morning. There are two areas: first inside the agreat Hall, you'll see the five ancient Skuldelev ships in somewhat in skeletons forms. You'll feel a quiet awe just looking at their thousand-year-old remains. Second part is the outside where you'll see a beautiful place view with tons of boats. Tons of things to do outside, you can watch boatbuilders meticulously crafting replica ships in the boatyard. You can also sail out on the fjord in one of the reconstructed longships, sadly no more available slots for the day. If you have the budget and you'd like to fully experience, I suggest to pre book before going. Since we went during summer (end of August) you are allowed to climb aboard other replicas at the harbor, even try on Viking clothes. Overall it's a full experience.

One of the most important attractions and museums during the visit to Copenhagen (40minutes by train). Staff are so welcoming with smile. Cinematography short movie in many languages will help a lot to understand the museum. The workshops outside will show you how the V-boats were built. Don’t miss it

A world-class and unique experience which is a must-visit if you're coming to Copenhagen as it's brilliant and only a 30-minute ride on the train (which is cheap and very frequent). See several recovered Viking long ships, discover about the different types and how they were built and used and then see expert craftspeople making replicas for experimental archaeology - sailing them to see how the Vikings would have used them. You can also become part of a crew in a small longboat close to the centre. And kids can design and make their own boat in wood with hand tools. Free tours in Danish and English by students are good and friendly. The venue hosts special exhibitions downstairs in the main hall. Several places to eat and drink on-site. Medium-size car park. If walking from the town train station, it's a pleasant and mostly flat walk. The shop has lots of Danish culture things to buy as well as stuff related to the Vikings. All staff friendly and helpful.

This museum is an incredible place filled with authentic Viking ships, fascinating artifacts, and tons of interesting facts about the Vikings. Both children and adults will find plenty to explore and enjoy. During my visit, there was a blacksmith workshop where a skilled craftsman demonstrated traditional forging techniques. There was also a shipbuilding area where craftsmen were using hand tools to build seaworthy Viking ships — a truly impressive sight. For kids, there’s a small hands-on workshop where they can build their own miniature ships from scrap wood and test them in a water pool. There’s also a replica of a Viking household, complete with Viking clothing you can try on and a play area for children. The museum also has an excellent restaurant with delicious food and a cozy atmosphere. And best of all — if the weather is good, you can join the crew of a real Viking ship replica and sail out to sea. An unforgettable experience!

I was a bit sceptical at first when i read its about one Viking boat restored. But there are 5 of them, and , whats more they have been fully rebuilt and are available even to step-in at the port next to the museum ! I learnt a lot from the short film in the museum. Go to the boat workshop at the port - they are just building a new boat, using old traditional tools, and you can chat with craftsmen. It was Worth a visit/trip from Copenhagen.

Roskilde Viking ship museum is a fantastic place. The museum has the excavated remains of Viking vessels, with activities for kids. Outside are reconstructed vessels and workshops where they are experimentally building new Viking vessels. Good facilities and cafes, free entry with a Copenhagen card and easily signposted from Roskilde train station. Well worth a visit.

GeoCenter Møns Klint is a nice educational centre focusing on the Møns Klint area, it hosts exhibitions and activities. Onsite there are play areas, washrooms, cafeteria and gift shop.

It was a great hike (Tour 5) that we did. I really like the rugged and wild coast there. You should plan on spending half a day there, but more is fine too. From the seaside it is also amazing, tours are starting from Klintholm Havn

No wonder it has became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stunning natural wonder, with a Museum and activities that allows you to understand the factors behind this wonder. We also did the Tour 5, with two kids, 6 and 8. Smaller kids could also do it, bit forget about Strollers.

I can highly recommend the Geocenter. In combination with a walk/hike at the cliffs, a very exiting and diverse day. The museum is very interactive, interesting and family friendly. When you are interested a bit in geology and nature, you will like it. Parking is 6 Euro per day, the entrance is a bit expensive but worth it.

One of the most visited sites in Denmark - for a reason. A great geological site to bring your kids for an exiting hike and experience. Look for fossils on the beach or awe the 70 million year old limestone cliffs raise from the sea.
