Leuven

Leuven is a city east of Brussels, Belgium, known for its breweries. On a central square is the 15th-century town hall, with its tall spires. The building is decorated with hundreds of statues of local figures, biblical characters and saints. Opposite, the late Gothic St. Peter’s Church houses a “Last Supper” by the Flemish Primitive painter Dieric Bouts. Nearby, Oude Markt is a long square lined with bars and cafes.

Brewery
Food & Drink
The Stella Artois Brewery in Leuven, Belgium, is a must-visit for beer enthusiasts and travelers alike. This renowned brewery offers guided tours that provide insight into the brewing process and the history of Stella Artois, one of the world's best-known beers. Visitors can witness the entire production process and even learn how to pour a perfect glass of beer before indulging in a tasting session.
I did the Brewery tour, was so informative and 4 free tastings if you are able to get them all down in 15 minutes hahaha Of course, I did and the last one was a 10% beer, was really nice amazingly

Does not honor rebate offers advertised in store. Will avoid your product and marketing traps moving forward. Submitted as instructed and told I didn't pay enough to qualify. Ruins what was a nice beer for me. Don't appreciate false offers or being yanked around by false promises. Should be illegal.
Mike N — Google review
Really nice but you don't get to see too much of the process itself. The bar at the end of the tour is good and you get a bag with beers that's nice as well. Overall a nice experience.
Ricardo A — Google review
I went here today and had such a great time learning about the history of Stella Artois! Our tour guide did an incredible job of connecting with the audience and adding some humour to the presentation! I hope more people get a chance to experience this. :)

Firstly. Bar keep best you could have. Knowledgeable, quick and plenty of beers. Lad with glasses and brown hair. Sorted us out with travel recommendations. Also showed us the secret tap. Great easy to make your money back in beer. Would recommend. Great tour.

I enjoyed witnessing the entire beer brewing process and touring the bottling plant. The atmosphere was fantastic, and my friends had the opportunity to sample various brands of beer for free. Must visit✅
Suyash J — Google review
Not really a tour, more an experience. Sat in a room watching tv too long. History of Leuven from 1300’s isn’t Stella! Saw some kettles and a bottling plant. No “wife beater” hats in the gift shop. Something to do and say you’ve done.
Dylan M — Google review
We love Stella Artois ! It is our favourite beer so we planed a visit to the place where magic happens…we had to book tickets with 3 weeks in advance and we had the trip to Leuven based on the date we could find a free spot to visit Stella Artois brewery…we had a english speaking guide who walked us and told us the amazing story behind this tasteful beer…the story, it goes back to 1366, is wow, the process of making the beer itself is long and has lots of steps…anyway, it was an hour and a half well spent and at the end we were invited to the brewery bar to taste some fresh and cold Stella Artois ! Cheers !

Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
Groot Begijnhof Leuven is a serene and well-preserved quarter with a rich historical background. This UNESCO World Heritage site boasts charming cobblestone streets, peaceful gardens, and well-maintained buildings that once housed a religious women's village. The vibrant Ladeuzeplein nearby is a hub of student life and cultural activity, featuring the striking Totem sculpture and the university library. The stunning St.
It’s such a historical location which really worth going. Full of red-bricked buildings. It seemed entering to another world. Just walk through those little streets and almost forgot the time. We just walk here amd there and took many nice pictures. This is a really amazing area. I really enjoyed the time spending there.
Gin C — Google review
We’ve been living in this residence for a few years now. I must say, if you’re visiting Leuven, you absolutely shouldn’t miss Groot Begijnhof. Its historical architecture is truly mesmerizing. Every street reveals different houses and glimpses of past lives. Recently, some infrastructure work has been taking place in part of the area, so if you’re planning to visit during the summer of 2025, be aware that some entrances are closed and walking around the church might be a bit difficult.
Açelya Ç — Google review
Incredible walking experience there. There was some renovation done in some part of area but in general it’s a very enjoyable experience with exploring the small aisle and looking at the old buildings. I was there during weekday so it was pretty quiet.
Cita W — Google review
Beautiful and peaceful place in the heart of Leuven. The Groot Begijnhof feels like stepping back in time with its quiet cobblestone streets, historic houses, and calm atmosphere. Perfect for a walk, some photos, or just to disconnect from the city noise. A must-see in Leuven.
Cris S — Google review
I strolled through the Groot Begijnhof in Leuven and instantly felt its centuries-old charm. As I entered through the main gate, those traditional sandstone buildings and winding cobblestone lanes made me feel like I had stepped back in time. Each house, some with striking crow-stepped gables and tiny old windows, reveals layers of history and story. The peaceful courtyards and scenic river views added to the atmosphere. This restored “town-within-a-town” is a unique place and quiet yet full of character, offering an authentic glimpse into Leuven’s past and the life once led by its beguines.
Ruben K — Google review
The Groot Begijnhof in Leuven is a beautifully preserved 13th-century beguinage and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once home to religious women called beguines, it features cobbled streets, red-brick houses, gardens, and stone bridges over the River Dijle. Restored in the 1960s, it now belongs to KU Leuven and serves as housing for students and professors. It’s a peaceful quarter perfect for a quiet walk through history.
Jelena R — Google review
It’s a breathtaking testament to history and architectural grandeur, buildings of Gothic and Renaissance styles. It can be called as the hidden place of Leuven. Not much crowded place. Good place to have some memories.

Over time, it has evolved into a diverse display of plants and flowers. The garden features a tranquil Sunken Garden where students often study amidst the peaceful surroundings. Amidst the bustling city, this garden offers a serene escape for visitors seeking relaxation and natural beauty.
Beautiful green oasis in the center of Leuven. I really loved the big sequoia tree and the wisteria trees. There were some amazing smells of the flowers also. We just spent some time here walking around and taking a break on some of the benches here

Superb botanical garden and very jealous of the space. We saw alot of exotic plants and trees and super well kept. Highlights were the Musa, oranges, kumquat and the turtles. If you’re closeby, its worth visiting. There are toilets available (clean), wheelchair accessible and a small information center with some booklets. There is bicycle parking in front of the entrance.

Saint Peter's Church in Leuven is a striking Romanesque church with an unfinished bell tower and ornate pulpit. The church features art by Dirk Bouts, including the famous Last Supper painting. Despite suffering damage during World Wars, it remains an impressive sight to behold. Adjacent to the town hall, this iconic landmark offers free entry and provides a glimpse into the city's rich religious and artistic history.
I was truly impressed by Saint Peter’s Church in Leuven. Its stunning Gothic architecture, magnificent chandeliers, and the beautiful sculptures and paintings inside create a breathtaking atmosphere. A must-see for art and history lovers!

Beautiful church in a beautiful city. Although the the inside is decorated a bit frugally compared to other churches, it still awes you with its majestic architecture and size.

Leuven’s biggest cathedral and a nice place to visit while you’re in the town center. No ticket needed and while it’s cold outside this can also be a sanctuary if you’re looking for a little bit of warmth. That beside the point, the artworks and collections are quite amazing. There’s a dungeon that act as another praying room.

Nice Church to visit in Leuven. Located near Grote market and Town hall. Entry is free and bus stop is very near to the church.
Shubham M — Google review
The origins of Sint-Pieterskerk (Saint Peter’s church) date back to the 10th century. Construction of this Brabant Gothic church continued through the 15th century with its towers used as a municipal belfry. Its belfry is part of the collection of Belgian belfries recognized by UNESCO. The interior is bright even on cloudy days thanks to the white colored walls and many large windows. It is free to enter the church.
Nanita — Google review
The Saint Peter’s Church is definitely one of the most important places to be in Leuven. You will find here the famous paintings of Dierick Bouts, medieval flamish artist from the 15th century. What impressed me most in on one side the medieval church with its uncountable numbers of arts and the long history behind the city of Leuven and on the other side the artificial intelligence driven guided tour allowing you to be part of the history. Don’t miss the tablet tour of Dierick Bouts! I hope that this cutting edge technology will be just the beginning of guided tours and will be further extended to more and more artists, painting and installing in this church. I do strongly recommend the guided tours offered by the tourism office. The guides are well educated, with a lot of historical knowledge and the educational background needed.

This imposing church is so impressive that even if wasnt at its prime locations, will be easy to find. Once entered you will be well rewarded seeing the inner beauty, you can wander into the peace and quiet admiring the ornate interior Definitely worth a visit

Specialty Museums
M Leuven is an art museum housed in a building that seamlessly blends old and contemporary architecture, offering a unique experience in the heart of Leuven. The museum features an extensive collection of over 58,000 pieces spanning from the Stone Age to modern times, with a strong focus on late Gothic, Renaissance, and 19th-century art. Visitors can explore paintings and sculptures while enjoying views of the city from the rooftop terrace.
Great museum with an extensive collection which is now interestingly curated in themes, rather than strictly by period. I found this quite engaging and made for an interesting visit.
Christopher L — Google review
It was once the home of the mayor of Leuven and then the home of a rich family. Some interesting exhibits and classic paintings were displayed. It took about 1.5 hours to walk through. And there is a cafe inside the museum. You can enjoy the coffee inside the museum or outside anytime then get back to the museum. The ticket is valid for one day and re-enter as long as you keep the sticker and the ticket.
Gin C — Google review
Very nice museum!! It has a mix of different styles and times. Sometimes it was kind of confusing when walking around, because of this mix. It’s not really set up chronologically or categorically. The museum is also very interactive, here and there they had little stories to listen to and you were able to give your input on a possible discussion! There’s also a rooftop where you can go, which has a cool view over the city. Overall, it’s not very big, but it’s a lot of fun! Within a few hours you’ve seen everything. Downstairs there’s a cute little cafe where you can enjoy a drink with a small bite.
Jet R — Google review
While this museum may not be on everyone's "must-see" list, it does provide a pleasant art experience, especially if you have a museum pass (free entrance). Although it does not house any famous masterpieces, the museum successfully connects the past and present through meaningful thematic parallels. We especially loved the interesting temporary exhibitions featuring local artists. A tour lasts about 90 minutes, and the personnel was quite friendly and informative. Through their website or app you get access to a free audio tour. The museum also has a cafeteria, a small shop selling art-related books and souvenirs, and a stunning rooftop patio. Free lockers are available downstairs for your convenience.

Great museum in Leuven to check out if you have time. The interior is very nicely laid out and looks like it was recently renovated or updated. The collection includes a wide range of pieces and has many works from Belgian artists. The museum is much larger than I expected and you could easily spend a couple of hours here. Keep an eye out on their website for free admission days.
Courtney C — Google review
This is a really lovely museum with lots of great art works from late‑Gothic art to contemporary exhibits. It’s both a tour guided and self-paced tour (if you so choose) with audio assistance so you get to really enjoy the experience and take in the works with much appreciation.
Nini E — Google review
Loved the museum space and friendly staff there, though I’m not a fan of contemporary art. A cozy place to spend one or two leisure hours. Also a nice and cool place in summer thanks to its architectural design.
Xiaoyu X — Google review
The items are interesting, I didn't get the theme if there was one, but some of the exhibits were cool, especially the smelling section, that was an intriguing part and made me think hard before checking what they really are. The building itself is also an interesting one; sitting in the heart of Leuven but set apart as it looks modern and out of place, but yet just right to show both the past and future of this vibrant university town. It's worth a visit if you're in Leuven. Opens late till 10pm on Thursdays, which is when I went there.

Bistro Tribunal Chez Yf is a cozy bistro located across from the Leuven courthouse, offering a diverse menu that includes delicious seafood and shellfish. However, the spotlight here is on their excellent meat preparations, making it a go-to spot for meat enthusiasts. With Jens Geys as their dedicated meat sommelier, this place revolves around high-quality meat dishes. The varied assortment of beef options allows diners to select their preferred cuts or create a customized platter.
Great spot , excellent food although bit pricier then the rest. Nothing to complain about though and surely worth a visit! Had the tuna and a nice tarte tatin

A nice setting in the centre of Leuven. Great if you want to take your significant other on a date! I recommend it for anyone who likes eating meat. You get to choose your steak from about 6 delicious options.
Kristof E — Google review
Probably the most expensive meal ive had in leuven and the steak was overcooked when i asked for medium. Rest was good.
T Z — Google review
A good selection of meat and the chef certainly knows how to prepare it. Very amicable, pleasant service. The only downside is that it can become quite crowded.
Gunter S — Google review
Don’t think it worth the hype. The food is alright, steaks are not amazing amazing as the most comments indicate. I think the ordering system of steak is annoying, could have just place the price higher and include wgyu, instead of the current update system. I think the problem of the place is it tries to portray itself as a semi-high end restaurant (all the small flag on the meat and waiter ask you come to pick the meat etc. But it doesn’t give high end vibe. Might as well be a little local the common touch restaurant, and people might like it more without too much critique) In all, sorry to say, mediocre place, would not come back again.
Caroline S — Google review
Best steak I have eaten in Belgium. You order multiple different cuts per table and then share them so you can taste each one. One of my favorite restaurants in Belgium!
Tristan — Google review
I highly recommend the steaks. 🥩 I choose the meat from Netherlands with tasting notes of nuts, and one from spain full of cheese notes. Cooked very proper, served with salad, fries, grilled vegetables and beans. Indeed deserved to be a michelin. Very kind and friendly staff. I had a great memory. Thanks🎈
A.A — Google review
One of the worst experience we had for 75 euros/ person. The restaurant has way deteriorated since we came last february. Half the meat was uneatable we kept chewing and left half the portions in our plates. For this price we were waiting for a better experience! Never again.. PS: i cannot reply to the owner so I am editing my review. We left the tip for the waitress because the service was good. But the meat was terrible and we said that clearly to the waitress that we were unhappy with the quality but of course she cannot do anything..

Modern Indian restaurant
Nirvana Kitchen is a modern Indian restaurant located in Leuven, offering a unique take on traditional Indian cuisine. Run by Chef Tanima, who infuses her upbringing with Bengali cuisine into her dishes, the restaurant aims to showcase the diverse flavors of India while incorporating Belgian ingredients. The menu features three different thalis - meat & fish, vegetarian, or vegan - each consisting of an array of small dishes. This concept sets Nirvana Kitchen apart from typical Indian restaurants in the area.
I've only tried Indian food 2 or 3 times before but this one is truly memorable. It's a wonderful food experience. My friend and I got the vegetarian and vegan menu. I was curious about the pork dish on their meat menu and the restaurant accommodated me by letting me switch the cheese dish for the pork. I was really happy about this. We got to taste lots of different flavors. I wish I was more hungry coming in because I couldn't finish everything. Next time I will save a lot of space to fully enjoy the food here. Their mojito is nice too, really refreshing. I appreciate that the staff explained what everything was and for some particular dishes, how to eat certain things. If you have something to celebrate, definitely consider this place.
Tam N — Google review
This is the best Indian restaurant I’ve ever been! That tastes was amazing! It brought perfect experiences for different types of flavors combinations, and the chef is definitely the genius of spices! I’ve been to India but the food here is IMPRESSIVE! This is my boyfriend’s favorite restaurant in Leuven and now it’s also mine! Every thing is not big but they are so flavorful, every bite brings out new surprises. But the whole meal makes us super full and satisfied! We highly recommend ordering different meals, and share them together. The price is not cheap but we are willing to pay for it! The girl who served us was also really nice, we appreciated it:) I think the only cons of the restaurant is the space is kinda small. On that day, I had a long flight before the food so I couldn’t eat too much, so unfortunately I couldn’t finish the rice😭but I hope one day I can have it again!

Very interesting and original presentation of dishes. Each dish will be explained in detail by the owner or chef of the restaurant. Pleasant and attentive staff. Each dish has an unusual and interesting taste. We highly recommend this establishment!!!

We finally tried Nirvana Kitchen! You have the choice between the meat and fish menu, the vegetarian menu or the vegan menu. We chose the meat-fish and the vegetarian options. Both menus had many different small dishes with varied flavors. All very good and the portions were definitely big enough! Friendly staff and great chefs. The facade of the restaurant doesn’t do justice to how cozy it is on the inside! Definitely a recommendation and they deserve their place as one of the best restaurants in Leuven.
Aurélie D — Google review
Lovely place with helpful friendly staff. The tasting menu style meal was all delicious and it was nice not have to make too many decisions! They brought me my food promptly but I never felt rushed. I had the vegetarian option and it had a diversity of flavors and textures with excellent seasoning. I wasn’t quite able to finish everything because I was full - I found it to be a generous amount of food!
Lindy B — Google review
The restaurant offers an elaborate presentation of Indian cuisine, but unfortunately, the flavors felt muddled … a mix of everything without any standout character. While the staff was friendly and attentive, the overall experience didn’t justify the higher-than-average prices. They serve only 3 set menu (vegan, vegetarian or Meat+fish) which limits choice and may not suit everyone’s taste. I wouldn’t recommend it.
Alessandro B — Google review
Came in here on a Sunday evening (yes, it was open) and tried the vegetarian Thali.. it was worth every penny! Totally loved the fusion Indian food and it hit all the right spots!

Raffat is a newly opened dining spot located in the heart of Leuven, offering a modern take on Pakistani cuisine. Owned by cousins Usman and Massab, the restaurant pays tribute to Raffat, Usman's mother, who was known for bringing family and friends together through her passion for cooking. The warm and homely atmosphere created by the hosts ensures a relaxed experience for every visitor.
Absolutely delightful dining experience! The beautifully designed interior, complete with cozy decor and soft lighting, set the tone for a fantastic evening. But what truly made our night special was the thoughtful presentation of each dish, carefully served with stories and explanations that brought the flavors and ingredients to life. The staff's passion for the food and its heritage was palpable, making each bite a truly memorable experience. The cocktails, like the Mango Tango, Afterglow were a perfect blend of sweet and tangy, absolutely refreshing! Although L.A.M.B didn't quite live upto my expectations. Be sure to book ahead, as the restaurant can be fully booked!

This is a modern authentic Pakistani restaurant 👌 with hands-on providing a classy menu combined with the modern test of traditional Pakistani food that suits the international market. Simply speaking, everything you eat and drink here has the touch and blessing of the mother who was the founder of the restaurant and the journey continued with her sons who are a consistent and generous example of how their business should continue with the mother's blessings. I'm not gonna tell more and let your imagination work until you come here and enjoy the real experience. Superb and highly recommended 👌

What a joke. We waited three weeks for a reservation, thinking we were in for something special. What we got instead was a masterclass in overhype and under-delivery. Between four of us, we ordered around 8 to 10 dishes — not a single one was worth remembering, let alone recommending. I’ve eaten a lot of Pakistani food — homemade, street food, hole-in-the-wall joints — and this was not it. The biryani? A crime. Doused in tomato paste like someone confused it with pasta sauce. The sabzi? Steamed vegetables in a watery red sludge masquerading as curry. Offensive to actual Pakistani cooking. This place hides behind a story and some theatrics, hoping you won’t notice the food is bland, basic, and bizarrely overpriced. Strip away the smoke and mirrors, and you’re left with food that belongs in a budget buffet — not on a pretentious tasting menu.
Sonam J — Google review
We both had a delicious cocktail and went for the vegetarian side of the menu card. The presentation and taste of the dishes were perfect. A great culinary experience. The service was good and the ambience, interior with open kitchen and overall atmosphere were great. The restaurant was full and we had to book 3 weeks in advance. There’s obviously a reason for that!
Bregt V — Google review
Nice and cosy place. Yes it is a bit crowdy because everybody loves it but the tables are just the right size to share the lovely food. We tasted a bit of the vege and the other Pakistanese tapas and each one is delicious, even the dessert. Funny names for the food and drinks as well. Recommend it to all. Will definitely revisit.

Cosy and beautiful! This restaurant serves Pakistani cuisine with a modern touch. As someone who is familiar with these flavours, I can tell you that the restaurant has done a fantastic job in keeping the flavours bold, fun and real. We had their signature set menu which had starters, main course and desert. The restaurant is doing a great job with their cocktails too and it’s definitely a must try. Overall the food and drinks were flavoursome and well plated. The ambience is tastefully done and it just elevates your dining experience The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and is ready to help you with the menu. They are well organised and I would highly recommend making a reservation before you visit as the place is always packed. Thankyou Team Rafat! 😊

Good place with nice atmosphere. Great cocktails. Some dishes are amazing, some are underwhelming, especially for the price. I hope they’ll change their menu more often: I went a second time two months later and I couldn’t taste anything new, since you order almost all dishes on the menu when you’re with a group. I also felled quite stressed eating there because the staff expects you to be finished in not much more than an hour and a half. When paying this price I’d rather take my time. 3.5/5

Its brick and wood decor creates a cozy atmosphere with outdoor seating available. Wonderful brunch place on a lively street in a beautiful town. The service was great, very attentive and welcoming. We had two starters, the tacos (maybe best I’ve had and we are from US) and a crispy artichoke that was delicious. We sat on the terrace and had a beautiful morning.

A Culinary Journey at Baracca! We recently had the pleasure of dining at Baracca, and we must say it was an unforgettable experience! We opted for the five-course dinner, and each dish took us on a delightful journey of flavors that we weren't expecting. From the very first course, the surprising tastes began to unfold, showcasing the chef's creativity and mastery of Italian cuisine. Each plate was beautifully presented and thoughtfully crafted, highlighting fresh ingredients and exquisite flavors, all with their own unique twist. The attention to detail in both taste and presentation was remarkable. As we progressed through the courses, we were amazed by how each dish told its own story while perfectly complementing the next. It was a delightful rollercoaster of tastes, textures, and aromas that left us eagerly anticipating what would come next! One of the highlights of our visit was the open kitchen, which added a wonderful touch to the experience. Being able to see the chefs in action was both entertaining and reassuring, showcasing their dedication and passion for creating exceptional dishes. The service was incredibly pleasant, with the staff going above and beyond to make our experience memorable. The atmosphere at Baracca was very chill and welcoming, creating the perfect setting for a lovely evening. If you’re looking for a restaurant that truly elevates Italian dining with its own creative flair, we highly recommend Baracca. Good food, excellent service & lovely atmosphere! These guys work with a system of getting a minimum amount of side dishes before your main. At first I thought that was excessive but it turned out to be the right amount & I left satisfied. I'll be back!

We came out of curiosity for the ambiance and the review. We were pleasantly surprised by the service, our waiters have been super friendly. We think we could be improved is the food. For the price point we expected everything to be prepared with culinary skills and thoughts. We were relatively disappointed by the simplest and the bland taste of the 2 dishes we ordered. The shrimp is simply covered with a premade sauce that can be found made in the supermarket, the tacos 🌮 are nicely fried but has not much any flavor. The pizza was the nightlight but the proportion feels small compared to the to the price that it costed. We have an overall nice finning experience with very kind server. If the cooking quality of the food improves we would love to recommend our friends and family to visit again.

This one’s a must-have experience in Leuven, if you’re into experimental/fusion Italian food, with great cocktail mixes and a fantastic in-house vibe! Slightly pricey but worth every buck.

Restaurant
De Werf is a laid-back eatery located on a quiet square near the center, offering small plates, salads, chowders, wraps, and pasta along with beer, coffee, and wine. It's known for its affordable and diverse menu. This Babbel en knabbel cafe provides a perfect setting for chatting and munching. The restaurant offers various breakfast options ranging from petite to royale as well as thermos with filtered coffee and petit beurre taart.
This cafe is amazing, in the summer they have a huge terrace, in the winter they have a cozy inside bar. The food is also really great for the price. Really the best price quality place I’ve been to in a long long time in Belgium. We took a lot of duvels, the leek pasta and a filled bread. Will come here again. (Especially for the quality and the low prices )

Very tasty meat chowder with bread. Generous serving. Mostly young ambiance. Just wish tap water was served for free :) Recommended!

We ordered two wraps. While my partner enjoyed the wrap, I didn’t. The plate, on which my food was brought, was dirty. It didn’t make my meal pleasant. The drink was far too basic for being home made and 4 euro’s (store juice). The homemade lemonade is just water with a little lemon juice in it. The price for the amount of food was decent. It’s really a place for students, which makes the atmosphere lively and fun. The outdoor setting is also spacious. We enjoyed the vibe of the place, but not the food. Just manage your expectations for this place.

Nice atmosphere and friendly vibe. The onion soup was really good, but I didn’t love the meatloaf with cherry sauce and the chowder with meat balls and chicken. Overall, the food seemed good quality, just not all to my taste.

The staff were incredibly kind and friendly. The young waitress who served us even asked where we were from, and we chatted for a bit. The portions are huge, and please don’t be put off by the presentation – my husband got his stuffed bread in a plastic container with a lid, we received our tortilla on a plastic tray, and the salad came in a plastic bowl. Despite that, the food was delicious and excellent. It feels like having lunch at your grandparents’ house.

The outdoor seating was a great feel. Went there after reading good reviews about the place and I was not disappointed. The portions were adequate and decent price. Definitely recommended.

A restaurant & cafe located in a small square & frequented by scores of students from the local university. It has a vibrant and energetic atmosphere which makes the place great for a quick bite or drink. The servers, who seem to be students as well, are friendly and helpful, and the food was good. There is some indoor seating, but all the action takes place in the large outdoor area that spills out toward the center of the square. If you're touring Leuven this is a great spot to soak up the local atmosphere, and if you want to sit outside when it's cold don't worry - they give you blankets!

Amazing place to eat and drink. Excellent beer and food choices and ridiculously cheap! Staff were absolutely amazing and really friendly and knowledgeable. I will visit this place every time I come back to Leuven.
