Nestled at the base of Mount Ossa, Kokkino Nero is a charming village and beach that offers a unique blend of natural beauty and relaxation. Located in the community of Karitsa within the municipality of Agia in Thessaly, Greece, its name translates to "Red Water," a nod to the area's mineral-rich hot springs that give off a striking hue. As you journey from Velika, you'll encounter the scenic Rocks of Velika before reaching Kokkino Nero's serene shores.

Damouchari beach

Damouchari beach is a picturesque cove in Pelion, Greece, surrounded by cliffs and clear waters. The beach has a mix of pebbles and sand, making it perfect for snorkeling. However, the rocky seabed can make swimming uncomfortable during wavy moments. Access to the beach involves a steep walk or hike from nearby areas like Ag. Ioannis or Tsagarada.
We arrived in the afternoon. There was quite a bit of parking, but, luckily, we found parking right away. The beach is very beautiful, dotted with small stones (it is recommended to bring flip-flops). It was not crowded with people. There is a very cute restaurant next to the beach.

Just beautiful. Clear water, not too many people. Mind that it is a stony beach. There is a bar nearby with plenty of food and drink options.
Laska N — Google review
We hiked down to the beach from Mouresi — it was a steep climb, but absolutely worth it. The beach felt secluded and peaceful, with warm, clear water and a shoreline of mixed sand and smooth stones.
Filip T — Google review
Beautiful beach Parking is at the top and then 200 meters of walk to the beach
David K — Google review
Amazing beach, super chill and accesible. Just a 100m walk on a pretty easy trail and you’re on a pristine light blue beach. We visited in October and there were no beach facilities at all.
Yuval R — Google review
Super beach, looks amazing. Need water shoes to wear
Bentley I — Google review
Scenic spot, lots of rocks and beautiful white cliffs surround this beach from the sides. Very uncomfortable to walk or lay down due to very big rocks, definitely bring shoes. Also rocky seabed so better swim and not stand/walk :) We heard snorkelling should be nice here but we visited during a wavy moment and it was quite uncomfortable to even enter the water, or come out - due to the high waves and rocky seabed. There’s a very small parking on the top and then a staircase to come down to the beach. The beach is also a bit small. We heard some scenes from Mamma Mia were filmed here. I recommend to check it out only if you really like the cliffs view and check that there are no waves, otherwise it’s not that practical.
Liana — Google review
A beautiful little beach where scenes from the movie Mamma Mia were filmed. The path to it is a bit slippery and dangerous, but only adds to the uniqueness of the place

Beautiful beach with blue sea💙 Has interesting caving and some days could have strong waves! Parking is available up the road. However, it's limited, and some days would be difficult to find a spot! Beautiful beach for taking some pictures
Kristina B — Google review
A beautiful beach that is near two great taverns, has a bar, and has an organized stone staircase to go down to the beach. It’s not hard to access, but it has limited parking spots. BUT CAREFUL. You need to check the weather very well before you come here. It can have a strong wave and could cause danger to some weak swimmers. Come here on calmer, less windy days for the best enjoyment.
Janissa J — Google review
Amazing and beautiful beach! The water has an gorgeous color. Make sure to swim to the sides of the beach, and bring a floating mattress and a pair of goggles. Be aware that renting beach equipment such as a parasol and beds are pretty expensive.
Pavel K — Google review
One of the most beautiful beaches we've been to. The descent to the beach is also very special and beautiful. There is an opening in the stone that actually creates a separation between two beaches - one is smaller and more intimate but quickly fills up with people as time goes by. We arrived around 10:00 and it wasn't busy yet. The parking lot was full. The beach fills up quickly and when we left, around 1:00 PM, the parking lot and the beach were already full. The cost of renting an umbrella and two beach chairs is 30 euros. Worth the investment.

I recently visited this stunning beach beneath Pelion mountain, and it was an absolute paradise! The water is crystal clear, sparkling under the sun, and perfect for swimming or just wading in its refreshing embrace. The surrounding scenery is breathtaking—lush greenery meets nice , golden sand, creating a picture-perfect backdrop that feels like a postcard come to life. What truly sets this place apart is the vibrant, positive vibe; everyone, from locals to visitors, radiates joy and relaxation, making it an ideal spot to unwind and soak in the beauty. Whether you're looking to swim, sunbathe, or simply enjoy the serene atmosphere, this beach is a must-visit gem!
Ivica N — Google review
Good road, enough parking, restaurants close by, shadow from the rocks and clear blue water. Perfect!
Steven — Google review
Beautiful beach Parking gets busy so it is better to arrive early (before 10)
David K — Google review
Fantastic beach with crystal clear water. The beach is made of small and large stones, it is not easy to place an umbrella. The beach consists of two parts that are connected by an opening in the rock, and those who do not want to go through the rock can also go through the shallows. In the long part of the beach there are several openings in the rock that look like entrances to caves. The sea here is fun for snorkeling because there are a lot of underwater rocks. There is a free parking lot above the beach, which is partly in the shade. There are steep steps and a steep and slippery path leading from the parking lot to the beach, so be careful. There is a restaurant in the parking lot with a great terrace and a divine view. There is a beach bar on the stairs with a fantastic view. On the beach itself, there is a bar that rents sunbeds at a price of €20 per set, which is too expensive. There is a shower and a changing room.

One of our best beaches, water immaculate and, if without wind, become a clear crystal pond. BEAUTIFUL! There is a small tavern on the site, see reviews. There aren’t that many umbrella so earlier arrival recommended. Prices 14 per umbrella so, man, very good. The very good lady will come to collect and also bring you receipt on the spot. The beach access is not too difficult, although a bit high, provide with a set of flight steps. Sand and a big of roach at both ends.
D B — Google review
We came to this beach at the recommendation of the guys who rented us ATV. The road is not paved, you drive on dirt and also pass through forest for a bit. The view on the road towards it is great, and when you reach here feels like a reward. The beach has fine sand and gives the water wonderful colors.
Andreea D — Google review
We walked to the beach from bus stop 24 (take the path on the left of Under The Pine Trees Restaurant). Pleasant walk through the woods, some parts were a bit uphill. Towards the end the path seems to have been affected by rainfalls, but still manageable, just wear proper shoes. The whole way took us about 25 mins walking leisurely. The beach itself is very nice with clear water. Two sun beds + umbrella for 10€. There is a kiosk selling drinks and light snacks with a seating area overlooking the sea. There was a decent amount of people there when we visited but not crowded.
Christina M — Google review
A more rustic beach which was a nice contrast. It does have a bar but it's way more low key and the beach does have sunbeds, they do feel a bit old but they were cheap so it's all good. The beach has lovely water and was great snorkeling. We got off the bus at stop 24 and it was a beautiful walk down through a lush forest. Would recommend as a more wholesome natural beach
Ciara M — Google review
This was our favourite beach out of four or five we visited in Skiathos! It was quieter, both in terms of number of people and it being the only one we'd been to where we couldn't hear music/boats coming and going etc. It's a bit more rough and ready than other beaches, so probably look elsewhere if you'd like more facilities. €14 for two loungers and an umbrella which was the cheapest we paid anywhere. The loungers are cash-only, but the hut selling food and drinks accepts card. We had a decent lunch of greek salad, omelete, pitta bread and tzatziki - expect a bit of a wait for food as it's only small and there was quite a queue around lunchtime! It was a lovely 20 minute walk through the pine forest from bus stop 24.
Stanley D — Google review
Mandraki Elias beach is different from other beaches you can find It is most of time windy ( at daytime but less in the afternoon) but more wild than others There is a small tavern where you can get food and drinks no more expensive than in the rest of the island The taverna also rents two sunbeds and one umbrella for 15€ but we preferred to walk to the right side part of the beach People working at the tavern are nice and welcoming The golden beach and clear blue water are just amazing A place to stay
Manuela F — Google review

Paralia Troullos

Paralia Troulos is a sandy beach in Skiathos that is suitable for families due to its Blue Flag, shallow turquoise waters and choice of sunbeds or natural shade provided by surrounding trees. The area boasts a serene ambiance with swans occasionally wandering around and Troulonisi, an islet near the beach, offering great swimming opportunities. This South coast bay has crystal clear waters surrounded by pine and olive trees making it ideal for relaxation amidst nature.
Lovely beach! Sandy with crystal clear water, fantastic for snorkeling. Beach has lifeguard service, changing cabins, umbrelas and sunbeds, very convenient parking area just a few steps away which makes it ideal for families with toddlers/children. It also can be easily accessed by the bus. There are two restaurants that take orders to the sunbeds area. Water is calm and it's fantastic for SUP board and kayak (you can rent one on the beach). If you arrive early (before 10:00 or 10:30) you have a good chance to find a natural shade under a pine tree which is fantastic. Definitely one of my favourites on Skiathos!
Zlatina N — Google review
Nice beach with a lot of sun beds and tree shadow. The taverna is also good. You can see a swans.
Veselin Y — Google review
Love this beach! One of my favourites! We got two sunbeds and an umbrella for €30 at end of July. They were very comfy ones though and a man would take orders and bring you the food and drink. The water is so lush and had so much fish, was great for snorkelling. I rented a kayak at the stand there for €15 which was great and they were very nice there. We got the bus and got off at stop 20 and it was an easy walk down. Absolutely loved it and had a great time 🤿😅💕
Ciara M — Google review
Great beach and the water is amazing. Singers ands umbrella €20 and the cafe its great. Really nice food and service at reasonable prices. Highly recommend
Gail B — Google review
We really enjoyed our time at this beach. We arrived around 10 a.m. and it was still quiet, with only a few people around. It started to get more crowded closer to midday, but there was still plenty of space on the public beach and under the pine trees. The water was crystal clear and deepened gradually, making it ideal and safe for our toddler. A lovely spot for families!
Ani G — Google review
We recommend go arrive early (before 10 am). You can get good spots both on sunbeds and on your own blankets under the trees. There are taverns, toilets and showers right on the beach. The sea is clean, in the afternoon there are more people on the beach.
Petr R — Google review
Sand beach with an incredible amount of fish. The sea bottom here is sand with small sea weed like a football playground. This is the way we saw it in the beginning of September. If you like snorkeling this is definitely a nice place. The beach is easily accessible by bus. It is a popular beach and most of it is with sunbeds. However there is a small free area. We visited it just for a couple of hours in the morning to enjoy the fish in the sea.
Veselin G — Google review
The beach itself is nice, no waves, clean water but overall the facility is not worth the money you pay for the sunbeds. There are no restrooms, no trash cans…

Nestled amidst a lush pine forest, Koukounaries Beach is a charming retreat boasting soft sandy shores and crystal-clear shallow waters. This crescent-shaped beach is renowned for its picturesque beauty and popularity, drawing in crowds during the summer months. Situated in the southwest of Skiathos Island, it offers easy access via bus or water taxi from Skiathos Town.
Great beach. Loads of eating and drinking options. Umbrella and lounger is more expensive than other spots on the island at €30 a go. The is some shade at the back under the trees. Water is lovely and clear good for kids
Karl W — Google review
Beautiful beach with nice clear water, but the people ruin the whole experience. No free umbrellas, better buy one for 10 euros and use it in the free zone. By 2:00 pm 2,3 water taxis with 300 people each pour out and the whole idyll on the beach is ruined. The sand is fine, but full of thorns from the trees.
Edit N — Google review
Beautiful beach with lots of natural shade, and also a beautiful forest with a lake just next to the beach. Enjoyed every moment here. Beach bars are whatever tho but they have everything you need like coffees, drinks and food.
Dimitrije R — Google review
Beautiful sandy beach and clear blue water. There is a charge for the beds, local restaurant is nearby serving drinks and fantastic food. Sadly the toilets were not working so we had to walk 20 minutes to the other side of the beach. The beds are close together, its Europe so expect smokers and sadly that's all they do.
Dee C — Google review
Considering this is one of the most popular beaches we had a great day here. We didn't get sunbeds but there are lots of trees where you can go in the shade. The water was great for snorkelling. There is nice beach bars too, changing places and a shower which is handy. The bus drops you right to the beach which was great.
Ciara M — Google review
Spent a day here didn’t use any of the sun bed’s saw €30 and €20 price points we set up camp near entrance to nature park sea was warm clear and we used shade of trees to keep cool Was relatively quiet one boat arrived in morning two in afternoon A beautiful beach
Paul W — Google review
A go to beach, perfect sand, clean water, and its big so its never actually overcrowded. Its pricey cause its popular, a normall frape will cost you not less than 4.5 e, a beer 5-7 e (small-big) and sunbeds are 30e, but you can find place in the shade beneath the pine trees which are practically everywhere, and the smell they give is perfect.
VELJA - — Google review
Nice beach, with a lot of natural shade from the pine trees. But also a lot of pine needles. The water is amazing, clear.

Agia Eleni Beach is a laid-back sandy beach offering umbrellas, sunbeds, and a seasonal taverna for food and drinks. One end of the beach features straw umbrellas and a tropical beach bar, while the other end has rocks and clear aquamarine shallow waters, perfect for snorkeling. Situated near Koukounaries in the west of Skiathos island, this beach is surrounded by green trees and natural beauty.
Easy parking. Crystal clear waters, easily one of the best beaches in Skiathos. Friendly staff, amazing choice to spend a late day and see the sunset. Easy online booking for sunbeds.
Alexandros G — Google review
Golden sand and transparent sea. A surreal sunset. The beach is mostly covered with sunbeds, there is not much space to put a towel or your own beach furniture, which is against the Greek law that 50% of the beach should be without sunbeds. Sunbeds cost €15-20 per set in july, and in August the prices are even higher. There is a toilet, there are also changing cabins. There are also two showers but neither of them worked. There is also an elevator to enter the water for disabled or elderly people. The beach is fully wheelchair accessible. There are two beach bars on the beach. One of those two bars has a DJ and fantastic house music, you can have a great time there.  The bar staff, on the other hand, is not very polite. At least it's quite expensive. The same bar rents deck chairs for €20 per set and in august prices reach 40€. The sunbeds are really too close to each other. The sunset and house music can really leave you with unforgettable memories. The beach has free parking, but it is not of a large capacity.
Zoran J — Google review
Comfy loungers, we found it to not be too busy at the end of May. Normally put off by beach bars which play music but 90s pop and RnB went down a treat 😂 Food at the beach bar is obviously higher priced than elsewhere, but they come and take your order and bring it to you on the loungers. €15 for sunbeds (at the end of May) gets added to your bill when you ask for it. This was average price during our stay. Would happily come back again as sand was lovely and sea had hardly any waves even on a really windy day.
Annika S — Google review
Nice beach and easily accessible. It is less crowded in case you prefer more peaceful places. There it is a small cantine where you can grab a coffee and rent some sunbeds and umbrellas. Of, course you can always to bring with you your personal stuff.
Haris K — Google review
Lovely water and sand, good choice of bars and small eating spots, also water sports equipment available to hire, not quite 5 star as a couple of music places were loud and was fairly busy but we still had a great time and enjoyed convenient amenities would give 4.5 if I could!
K — Google review
This is by far my favorite beach in Skiathos in terms of vibe! Perfect for young people, with a great beach bar that plays really good music and offers top-notch service. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive, with lots of nice touches and complimentary treats. You can also enjoy a beautiful sunset here. Compared to Koukounaries, it feels more intimate and relaxed. I highly recommend this beach!
Cristina I — Google review
Sunbeds 20 euros per pair with umbrella. Food at the bar is just as good to end your hunger - frozen fish/seafood. The beach is not very clean, full of stones and you can spot some seaweed at the edges. Not worth the hype. sunset was beautiful tho. Also rather crowded.

Παραλία Μικρή Μπανάνα

Beach
Outdoor Activities
The Little Banana is a nice naturist (FKK) beach. In the middle there are sunbeds and umbrellas that are operated by the local beach bar (price for 2 people in June 2024 = 30€), shower and toilet available. Left and right from this there's enough space for everyone with their own umbrellas. The sea was clear, nice fishes to view underwater, few waves, easy to swim. Reachable by bus from Skiathos port to the final stop 26 (Koukounaries) for only 3€ or the high speed taxi boat for 6€, then walk up the hill (quite steep!) and follow the signs for the Little Banana Beach/Black Bird Bar, about 20 min walk (up and down). The beach bar has limited food offer, it's rather for drinks only, this could be improved.
Peter V — Google review
The most beautiful beach on the island. You can get there walking from Koukounaries parking, or take the Black bird van for free and then walk a little bit to the beach.
Aurora T — Google review
Just amazing beach, beautiful sand, sea is so clear, staff from Black bird beach bar is amazing.... It'a must to visit for sure 👍🏻
Jovan R — Google review
First and foremost, it's a nudist beach. Don't be surprised when you get there. Second, as some others have already stated, there is practically no shade from the sun. The center of the beach is occupied by sunbeds and parasols from the Black Bird cafe. So you either have to pay 30 euros a day or bring your own. The beach is definitely the most beautiful (in my opinion) on the island. I've made sooooo many photos that are desktop worthy on that beach. The water is clear, the fishes are swimming next to you, the sand is just a bit rougher then on Koukounaries so it's easier to shake off. The road to the beach is a bit up and down but it's in great condition. You can't seem to get to the beach by car since the hotel ramp is in the way. If you ever get to come, you definitely need to watch the sunset. It's mesmerizing.
Igor M — Google review
Beautiful, quiet nudist beach with many ages and body types. Perfect for sunsets. Easy, 10-minute paved walk to the beach. Not a lot of shade, so a parasol is recommended. If you didn't bring one, look for some that others have left stashed behind rocks around the little canyons. 🏝😎
Christopher L — Google review
The beach is now run by the Hotel Company. Half of the sun beds are for Textiles the other half for naturalists. Free part of the beach is clothing optional. Access is to the side of the first restaurant from bus stop 26 up a tarmac road and turn right at the top. Follow the signs for Black Bird bar. Turn left down the road. Probably 15 minutes walk. Easy access into the sea. Soft sandy beach.
Robert F — Google review
It saddens me greatly to report that, “Little Banana Beach” has now lost its Rustic Greek Charm, in favour of a so called “upmarket Image” Having just spent two weeks on the Island and visiting the beach daily, I can confirm there are plenty sun beds available, mainly due to the €40 daily charge for two beds and a parasol and the fact the beach is no longer as clean as it once was ! I was also shocked to learn from the local Doctor that, there’s a big problem on Skiathos with ear infections which, appear to be from the waters surrounding the Koukounaries area! Little Banana beach was for many years known for naturism, however the naturists have also been restricted from using the sun beds “Au Natural” or indeed walking on parts of the beach managed by hoteliers and boat rental companies ! I suppose this is what’s meant by the term “Progress”
Wild R — Google review
35 euros to sit in sun all day. The sunbeds are very heavy to move and if you can move them there are people that cannot move in their umbrella’s shade. One of the worst places to rent sunbeds.

History Museums
The Athanasakio Archaeological Museum of Volos, housed in an elegant neoclassical building, showcases ancient artifacts such as tombstones, gold jewelry, and statues spanning from the Stone Age to the Roman Era. Located in the vibrant city of Volos on the eastern coast of Greece, visitors can also enjoy its picturesque seaside promenade known as Argonauts Avenue and indulge in delicious seafood at welcoming taverns.
When you first walk into the museum you would naturally think it’s relatively old style with high ceilings and outside lighting through skylights and bright lamps that reflect of glass. Also white walls with hessian backings. These days lots of modern museums are dark with close LED lighting focused on the objects. However what you find is something very special. Many of the most important objects - mostly in the Neolithic section - are actually not behind glass at all. That gives the viewer a real close and personal contact with the objects. And the Neolithic objects are quite brilliant. A very important museum to visit.

The Archaeological Museum of Volos pleasantly surprised us. It offers a fascinating collection of tools, jewelry, and everyday objects, dating back as far as 5000 BC. It was truly exciting to see in real life what I used to read about in school textbooks. All the information is provided in both Greek and English, which makes the experience accessible and engaging. We arrived on a Saturday around 11 a.m. and were the only visitors for a while, which gave us the chance to explore everything at our own pace. After about 40 minutes, a school group arrived, which brought a different energy — it was nice to see kids learning about their history. Highly recommended for a calm, meaningful visit!

Nice little museum a bit out of the city centre of Volos. They have three different exhibitions: one detailing the palaeolithic and neolithic findings from Thessaly, one detailing burial customs and steles from ancient Demetrias, and one detailing the history of Volos. They have most signs in English, at least the ones describing the artifacts, but the informational signs in the Volos exhibition are only in Greek. Overall, the museum can be visited in less than an hour, especially in the morning when there are fewer visitors.
Jesper — Google review
Wasn’t expecting the extend of the exhibits. Great pottery collections. Need less than an hour. Building has been maintained inside and outside (garden needs some tlc), aircondition was working so was nice and cool inside. Paid EUR 10 entrance. Seems like entrance increased based on previous Google reviews.

Anyone who loves Greek history and has the opportunity to visit this place is a must visit. There is a lot to see about the history not only of this place but also of the whole of Greece. My recommendation for this historical museum.
Nenad K — Google review
Nice little museum. Entrance is 10€. Easy to visit in an hour if you have some time to spare in Volos. Pity that most of the larger informational signs are only in Greek.
Robert R — Google review
I have very mixed feelings about this museum. On the one hand the exhibits are very good with interesting history and artifacts. There is a good amount of information available. It's a small museum but well put together. On the other hand, a lot of the information is only available in Greek. You can download a doc but it only gives an overview of the different exhibitions and a floor plan of the museum, nothing about individual objects. Having said that, I'm not sure that it's fair that non-Greek speakers must pay the same price or even more, and also at 10 Euro (29 Aug 2025), I feel they can really put in a little effort to also have everything in English too. There's supposedly some audio available that you can listen to for some things. But I asked the lady at reception and she said it's not working. Her English was very bad, so she might also have meant it's not available in English. So definitely make sure you take your phone with you and have an internet connection available so you can use Google Translate or a similar app to translate the various exhibit plaques.

The Diachronic Museum of Larissa, inaugurated in 2015, is a modern space spanning 1,500 square meters just outside the city. It houses over 2000 objects discovered during excavations in Larissa, Trikala and Karditsa. The main exhibition showcases the architecture, art and lifestyle from the Paleolithic Age to the Byzantine era. Visitors can admire sculptures and exquisite silver and gold jewelry while learning about the history of Thessaly.

Today I visited the museum as a part of a morning stroll around town without any big expectations. But, when I entered the exhibition and started going through the exhibits I was amazed by the very nice environment and the very kind guides. The museum is for sure a great chance to do something of cultural significance in the city of Larisa. I enjoyed being there and I totally recommend it for others to visit it too. Once again, great exhibits, great environment.

A quite marvellous museum charting the history of Thessaly from pre history, to the introduction of Christainty. Would highly recommend, it was displayed well with information in English. One of the best I've ever been to. Best to drive to, as it isn't located in the city. The staff provided us booklets after we were finished, which was much appreciated. The building is purpose built, but needs connections to the city to get people in.
Tom ( — Google review
The exhibits are interesting but the experience was in the end rather unpleasant: my children were discussing a mosaic floor (exhibit) when they were shouted at by one of the members staff for leaning against a museum building wall (which definitely not part of the exhibits)… when i asked the member of staff why she was shouting at my children, she replied that we were no to touch anything in the museum. At all… even if it’s not an exhibit… I feel her shouting at my children was disrespectful given that they were not misbehaving and it seems completely over the top to penalise them for touching something that was obviously not an exhibit.
Lala C — Google review
The arrangement of the permanent exhibition is based on the axes of chronological narration, geographic distribution and special subjects. it contains 11 sections and presents representative findings of Thessalian culture from Paleolithic era to the 19th century.

Drymonas Waterfalls

Waterfalls
Nestled in the serene woodlands of northern Evia, the Drymonas Waterfalls offer a breathtaking escape into nature. This hidden gem features a stunning cascade that reaches up to 15 meters high, creating a picturesque scene surrounded by lush forests and the tranquil sounds of flowing water. A well-maintained path leads visitors from the parking area down to the base of the falls, where a natural pool invites you for a refreshing swim.
This is a good place to visit. It is a short walk along a well made path from the parking area down to the falls. There is a pool of water at the base of the falls that contains refreshingly cool water which is good to swim in. When I visited it was a warm August day with lots of people, and plenty of children having a great time. There are no changes rooms here so come prepared to swim or to change cloths in your car.
Ron S — Google review
You can park your car at the top of the road and go down on foot on a very nice short path to the waterfall. The place is amazing, much more beautiful in real life. Very recommend with young kids, as it is a really short walk
Rachel G — Google review
I visited this place with my family and found the access quite easy. However, caution is needed as the pedestrian path has slippery rocks. When I visited in August, the waterfall had little water, but I believe it must be much more impressive during autumn. The whole area is still in the process of recovering from the devastating fire of August 2021. Four years later, the mountainsides are slowly turning green again. Yet, the charred tree trunks remain, standing like solemn monuments to the forest’s once-glorious past.
Stavroula K — Google review
A beautiful waterfall hidden in beautiful nature. It was awesome that it had water in August despite the hot weather. We drove there for about 35 minutes from Edipsos. The road is good and asphalted, though the last 10 kilometers it was a bit narrow. There were some sharp turns, but nothing drastic and we saw people arriving with small motorcycles. You park the car and then there's a short walk down a nice path for no more than 5 minutes to get to the waterfall. My tip is to get non-slippery shows because the stones on the path were a bit slippery. We went from there to Rovies and that part of the road was worse with many sharp turns and some damaged parts, so I would suggest to use the other way if you can. Definitely worth a visit!!
Milena P — Google review
This little place is magical! The waterfall had water during September, which is a good sign. You can take a dive in the small pond and enjoy the green nature around you. Unfortunately, that green nature is only around you, as the places surrounding the area have suffered from wildfires. The waterfall area has been kept mostly intact though. To reach it, you will have to descend some easy stairs. I do recomment using good shoes and not slippers, but you won't have an issue if you are careful. It won' take you more than 5-10 minutes.
Cookie C — Google review
Great waterfall. Easy to reach, park car en walk down. Only waterfall on evia that we found in July 2025 with water.
Martijn P — Google review
Very nice waterfall, 40 minutes drive from Agia Anna beach. Easy access, kid-friendly walking path. There is a children's playground near the waterfall. Just be careful of snakes. Down the waterfall there are snakes.
Md C — Google review
A small but very nice place to go. It has parking spaces for the cars and easy access to the waterfalls with a new build path. If you want you could even swim there or take a rest at the playground. Unfortunately the trees around are all burnt down which is a small lack for the beautiful place.

Seaside spa resort with luxe rooms, physiotherapy & thermal pools, plus refined dining options.
We stayed at this hotel in the middle of January. the hotel was surprised by the very, very friendly staff, the bartender served in the bar area, and his service is highly appreciated. The rooms are decorated in a modern style. We lived in a building that was renovated. a good store with high-quality clothes for spa treatments. The breakfasts and lunches are very good. the hotel has its own private parking.

High end Hotel beaming with tradition and history yet modern service. Their wellness spa is up there in line with the best that can be found worldwide. It was a short break but we have promised ourselves to come back for a long stay soon.
Jonathan S — Google review
I had high expectations for this spa, given the premium prices, but unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment. The cleanliness was absolutely unacceptable—dirty bathtubs, unkempt facilities, and an overall unhygienic environment that made it impossible to relax. The services were nowhere near what you would expect from a spa charging such high rates. The treatments felt rushed and unprofessional, with little to no attention to detail. The overall atmosphere lacked the serenity and luxury that a proper spa should offer. To make matters worse, the breakfast was just as bad—bland, low-quality food that was clearly not fresh.
Vasiliki M — Google review
The hotel is situated in a perfect location yet the maintenance is not as expected which left us with an unpleasant experience. The Spa pool and area are not clean enough, the towels ( if any, as not always available) are old and worn out same goes for the bathrob. This hotel has great potential to become a jewel but not in this cleanliness level.

Secluded, sand & rock beach with a bar, on a volcanic island popular with boat trippers.
For 10 euros the boat ride, lounge chairs with umbrellas was a value. He shows you some of the island before the stop at the beach. Spend as long as you want there. We were happy with the beach food sold there. It was a nice sandy beach with clear water to swim in. We were happy we did it.

Interesting place. The beach is very crowded. But the water was very clean. During the transfer other parts of the islands were also shown and the history explained.

Just amazing! Clean water. A beach bar to serve you. Beach umbrellas and deck chairs are free to use. You need to buy a ticket to get there by boat. €10 each (return). The trip includes a little tour where the boat captain explains the history of the area. Really beautiful and definitely a must do.

Monolia beach and Lichadonisia in general are a "hidden" gem in the middle of Maliakos gulf. One can't imagine that at such a close distance from land (about 20 minutes to half an hour by tourist boat) there is a place with crystal clear waters resembling the beaches of tropical islands! The beach bar is well organised and the sea beds and umbrellas are for free. Prices are normal to high but it couldn't be otherwise, the whole experience justify them. I definitely recommend a day trip to these islands. You can find information on boat itineraries and prices on line. Kids under 8 travel for free.
Zetta E — Google review
The beach is amazing! You get there with a boat only. Unfortunately, too many crowds are coming without any filter of the amount, so be ready all the sunbeds and umbrellas to be occupied. Bring yours just in case. The mojito at the bar wqs awful! The worst I ever had! The water is amazing, you can see even seals in the sea.

Mountains
Parnassus, one of Greece's highest mountains, is located in the Phocis district of ancient central Greece. The mountain features a sprawling national park and a popular ski resort that attracts ski enthusiasts every year due to its proximity to Athens. Covered in evergreen fir trees, Parnassus offers an ideal destination for winter activities and trekking amidst an alpine landscape.
One of my favourite Greek mountains for the ski and trekking lovers. It is suggested that the name derives from parnassas, the possessive adjective of the Luwian word parna meaning house, or specifically temple, so the name effectively means the mountain of the house of the godη

Tough steep climb in summer to top of Liakoura summit. You could get closer if chairlift operated or you could drive the Jeep roads but the resort makes you walk. For first half follow the jeep paths from carpark which is easier than going under the chairlifts with uneven ground covered in thistles. Then follow the red blazes on the rocks. Use the Anavasti app and buy the Parnassos map. The geotracking will keep you on the path.

A gorgeous alpine area for trekking and exploring. Have a good map if you want to reach the summit itself: the ski resort can be confusing to hike around in the summer.

The greatest Greece mountain - a leaving place of muses and Pegasus.
Paul K — Google review
The evergreen Mt Parnassos, covered in fir trees, is a famous winter destination and one of the highest mountains in Greece. A swarm of ski aficionados head to the ski resort every year as their trip there is facilitated by its proximity to Athens. The mythical mountain’s slopes are weighed down by the history and tradition of Roumeli. It is an ideal destination where you can enjoy the warmth of greek hospitality and views of some picturesque villages in an alpine landscape. The area offers also more then 100 hiking routes and is best visited on summer!

An exceptional experience! The tour, along with the visit to the mine 18 meters underground, was fantastic. Both adults and kids were thrilled, and we talked about it for days. Well done!

Great experience... totally recommend it. Don't go without reservation, they will most probably deny entry, flexibility is not the greatest asset. Underground part of the tour is well made, the video tour is just ok. Someone had the brilliant idea to present a film made for flat TV on some cylindrical surfaces, nevertheless worths the visit If you plan it in advance.

I arrived from Athens without even knowing that I need an appointment. The lady understood my situation and she helped me a lot. Amazing experience! I dont recommend to claustrophobic people
Nasos F — Google review
We had a great time! An experience that I recommend. We had two small kids, one 3 months old, absolutely impossible to use stroller, so be prepared to have a carrier, and another 2 years and a half, I have to say that they can be scared in the small vagon, because it is low ceiling, loud and fast, so prepared them, and tell them what will happen before going. I really appreciate that you learn with different type of activities, first the train and the recreation of mine scenery, then the audio guide and then the videos. I have to say that the way that the video is projected doesn't help, it's everything distorted, surely there are better ways to improve the experience. Plus unfortunately the last video was the most disappointing, because we where a group of 8 people, but none could understand a thing, it was too abstract and specific, I would have loved to hear more about what happens nowadays in the mine. Maybe following the rock that detaches from the mine till maybe a soda-can of aluminium or a piece of iron, seeing also the machines that they use today and where it is refined.

Amazing experience, perfectly organized! Staff is well-informed, genuinely kind and highly service-oriented. Telephone reservation is recommended when visting during busy periods (ie long weekends or public holidays). Full tour lasts 75’, including viewing of 2 films, visit to the mine & audio tour of museum.

A very well set and great experience for the kids too. Not sure if available in Eng or other languages though. I understand the hardships of making this a wheelchair accessible place. Best to RSVP. Great guides too - thanks!

It was truly an exceptional experience! I gained valuable knowledge, and the staff was outstanding—remarkably polite, friendly, and professional. I was genuinely impressed, making it one of Greece's best theme parks. Undoubtedly, a must-have experience!

🚃 Visiting Vagonetto, the aluminum museum near Amfissa, was truly a vivid experience. The short videos depicting the history of aluminum extraction, where workers used hand equipment, provided a fascinating insight into the industry's evolution. 👷🏼‍♂️The tour under the lodge, named "850" which means the level above Sea surface, with the old rail trail added a nostalgic charm, making the visit both educational and immersive. 👉🏼Highly recommended for those seeking a unique blend of history and hands-on exploration!

Sights & Landmarks
The Hosios Loukas Holy Monastery is a magnificent Byzantine-style religious complex established in the 11th century. It is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and situated between the towns of Distomo and Kyriaki, about 23km southeast of Arahova. The monastery comprises two churches, including the principal church that houses some of Greece's most exceptional frescoes from the Byzantine era. Visitors are expected to dress modestly (no shorts).
We stopped here on the way to Delphi from Athens. This was the most impressive monastery we visited in Greece. The number of the mosaics and beauty was staggering! There is also an adjacent small church on the site by the parking lot and the views of the area are amazing.
Ryan S — Google review
A monastery off the beaten path which we really liked! We took a detour to the monastery on our way back from Arachova to Athens. It is big and beautiful and has a beautiful painted crypt and inside of the church. Well looked after and lost of interesting history. The stables and one or two other buildings did burn down 2-3 years ago and they are restoring it. It does not distract from the great experience and I can highly recommend the place. Lots of parking and we could pay by card.

A must see. Worth a detour, worth a visit. Meteora is also a must see at a stunning location. This is a stunning monastery at a beautiful place.
TheLaurierstreet — Google review
Stunning view of the mountains, the building itself is beautifully taken care of, it is active so people do go to participate in service but there is plenty of small areas to explore with bits of history information and a small museum room where u need to buy entry tickets. There is a large parking lot higher up from monastery but with the hills and stairs it could be difficult for someone with mobility issues. There are clean toilets for use before you get the entry gate as well

I drive in from Domvrina. The drive was amazing, Ag Anna was beautiful, all the villages on the way were beautiful and the Monestery is in a unbelievable place. Stunning views. The people there are so nice. I recommend anyone visiting Greece visit here.

Would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area. Lots of history and things to see. I think it was 10€ to enter.

Gorgeous monastery that everyone should visit. I can't believe how obscure this place is when it's monumental and religious value matches that of Parthenon in its respective hostorical era. The view is wonderful and everyone is so friendly and willing to share facts about Saint Loukas and the monastery itself.

Temple of Apollo

The Temple of Apollo in Delphi, Greece, is a remarkable ancient structure dedicated to the god Apollo. Despite its current state of ruins, the temple's grandeur is still evident through its massive Doric columns and expansive foundation. The site offers breathtaking views of the surrounding valley and archaeological area. Delphi itself holds UNESCO World Heritage status and was once a prominent center for Greek city states to present votive offerings.
It’s a fantastic place. You can really feel the energies here. The ancient temples, the location itself, and the view are breathtaking. It fills you with good energy. A short meditation around the temple is wonderful. The whole place is in such a beautiful setting. The nearby town has very nice hotels and restaurants.

Worth the money and the trip. Gorgeous ruins and views. Very informative museum along the site. You might wanna go around morning or afternoon to avoid high noon sun.
Alex M — Google review
It is humbling to see how advanced the ancient Greek were, compared with the rest of Europe. A really impressive site to visit. The walk to the stadium is quite a climb. (Not hard, just exhausting in warm weather) If you really want to see it, go for it. It is beautiful. I would surely recommend getting a top view from the theatre, to really see how big the site is. Also, dont forget to visit the museum. Perhaps visit the museum first. And remember the statues you see there. A lot of pieces of the puzzle will fall in to place at the site. As you can hardly imagine how things would have looked
Jelle — Google review
The site itself is relatively compact and, to further that feeling, when we visited the Athena part of the monument was temporarily closed. The space is well kept, and even or a rainy day the site was still very accessible with no security concerns due to slippery terrains. The temple of Apollo was amazing and everything from top to bottom was stunning, especially in context with the rest of the remnants like the treasury and the market. Didn’t have time to visit the museum, however, I still found it very much enjoyable and interesting.
João C — Google review
An unforgettable experience. After visiting the museum we climbed the hill up to Apollo's temple. The place has a certain atmosphere, which cuts through even when the huge tour groups rumble through each area. If you have any interest in the Oracle you must come to see this magical place. Ask Apollo for advice at his temple, which is the centre of the universe, and wait for a sign. The views are stunning and the only negative is I wished it hadn't been so busy. Perhaps try to visit at a quieter time of year. Highly recommended.

A great place to visit some ruins. Beautiful. Striking. Imposing. Impressive. They’re in the process to add a cafe by the entrance. A few cats that are hungry, they come to visits expectedly for food.

The famous Temple of Apollo at the Delphi archaeological site, located between the beautiful town of Arachova and the modern village of Delphi, is absolutely worth visiting and highly recommended. The place where the temple stands feels magical—you can truly connect with the surrounding nature. There’s something special about the mountains, the golden-yellow flowers scattered everywhere, and the lush green trees. A helpful tip: be prepared for plenty of walking. It’s like an easy hike up to the upper part of the site, where you’ll find a stunning ancient stadium and breathtaking views.
Huda S — Google review
Very nice area on the top side of a mountain with a nice view. A lot of history here and informational plaques. There’s also plenty of staff around the help keep things moving and answer any questions. Would recommend taking a trip out here if your looking for places near Athens to explore

The Delphi Archaeological Museum is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the ancient site of Delphi. Just a short stroll from the archaeological ruins, this museum was established in the early 20th century to showcase an impressive collection of artifacts unearthed during excavations. Visitors can marvel at architectural sculptures, pottery, and inscriptions that date back as far as the 15th century BC. The exhibits provide fascinating insights into ancient Greek religion, art, and daily life in Delphi.
A wonderful little museum. The rich history of the site is well displayed in an ordered museum. We visited on a Wednesday at about midday. The museum was very busy, in particular the tour groups which whizzed through were cramming the whole place up. These should really be limited in size. Some really great pieces are in the museum and we both really enjoyed it. Highly recommended.
Drew Y — Google review
Really incredible visit. The views are top notch and the entire site is exquisite to visit and learn about. We were nervous about the time to drive up from Athens, but we hired a driver for the day and it was worth every bit of the cost. Not only a driver, but guiding us along the drive and pointing us in the right direction once at the site. Worth doing, don’t drive yourself and I’d avoid the massive tour buses. Very much worth a visit all around. Do the site first and museum second. Bring water and be prepared for hills.
Alexander W — Google review
Wonderful museum and archeological site closed to the modern village of Delphi. The museum has wonderful artifacts but is not overpoweringly large. There is a good flow through the development of Delphi as a sacred site and it's demise before being restored by the Romans. The archilogical site is deceptively large, winding a long way up the mountainside. Allow at least 90 minutes to see the whole site. Cafe at museum ticket office serves good coffee and sandwiches. The shop is a bit twee but has some interesting items. Main downside of the site is the toilets. There is nowhere near enough for the volume of visitors and the inevitable queues and lack of cleanliness are quite offputiing. Much better to take the short walk into a taverna in the village, and probably as quick

Delphi was absolutely breathtaking — one of the highlights of my trip to Greece. The combination of stunning mountain views, ancient ruins, and peaceful atmosphere makes it a truly special place. Walking through the archaeological site, you can really feel the history and imagine what it must have been like thousands of years ago. The Temple of Apollo, the ancient theater, and the stadium are incredible to see up close, and the museum adds great context with beautifully preserved artifacts. Everything is well organized and easy to explore, and the scenery surrounding the site is simply majestic — it feels almost spiritual.
Arash — Google review
We visited ancient site first due to rain, but recommend museum first. Great exhibits. Do not miss an allow at least 2 hours. Came later in the day and seemed ho be thinning out. Lots if tourist busses. Also was able to park on street close to museum for free. Lots of great artifacts and pieces of history.
EveryDayGlory ! — Google review
Lots to see, varying degrees of difficulty great for individuals with wide range of physical capabilities, and must have a good knowledgeable guide to bring the site to life. Little known fact, a landslide in the last few years has made the area around and access to the Athena temple a restricted no entry area. However, there are plenty of amazing views and spaces to rest in the shade that allows you to soak it all up.
Dana E — Google review
Delphi and the museum are just wonderful. There really is something special about the site and the museum is concise and has great information about the history of the area and more. Definitely worth the visit! My only drawback was the very expensive cafe at the museum - I bought a half a tiny pizza that was tasty but somewhat dry and far, far too costly.
Franco F — Google review
It was a long drive from Athens but it was worth it. If you have time, it's definitely worth seeing there. The same ticket works both for the Museum a d the Archeological Site. Beautiful history and well preserved statues. Highly recommended 👌🏼

Delphi is a modern town located west of the ancient archaeological site. The town was established to accommodate the population of Castro, which had to be relocated for the excavation of the ancient Delphi site. Ancient Delphi, situated on Mt Parnassos with views of the Gulf of Corinth and surrounded by olive trees, is considered one of Greece's most spiritually significant archaeological sites.

Blue Lake, also known as Monastiraki, is a stunning beach with beautiful sea views and a lively atmosphere. The beach bar offers a vibrant setting with music, sunbeds, and umbrellas. Visitors can enjoy the energetic ambiance with young crowds and a DJ that keeps the party going. The location between a natural pond and the beach provides a dreamy backdrop for relaxation.
Blue lake is a perfect place to relax and chill. Beautiful and sweet little Margarita, the seating hostess, was always smiling and so welcoming- we booked the beach bed in advance and she was always helpful with anything we asked! The music is calming and sophisticated, the bar/food area is chic, food is healthy and delicious, I tried every salad on the menu- my favourite was the Greek salad (served in a paper parcel!) but all were delicious. The beach bed was perfect for keeping us safe from the sun and comfortable to relax on the whole day. Prices are reasonable and standard of service/food/decor was top class- there was a definite Mykonos vibe! The spa was newly opened and very reasonably priced- €22 for a 1 hour massage- May be a promotion price but it was so good!!! (I recommend Nicoletta) Family friendly and also great for couples/young people.

A very beautiful beach with fine pebbles and crystal-clear waters, although it gets deep quite quickly. An excellent spot for SUP, thanks to the lagoon located just behind it. Highly recommended !Ι

Great service, need to get early (9 - 10) for a sea bead or call to research (prices 0 to 20€). Drinks and snacks available on reasonable prices. Great beach, fantastic spot. Polite, helpfull personel.

Great atmosphere, geared towards tourist. Most of the music was american. It's a pebble beach, so wear appropriate footwear. The pebbles get hot in the sun and can burn your bare feet. The water is refreshing and the food is good. Pets are allowed here.

Amazing beach, the beach bar is absolutely stunning, the people are young, vibrant, ready to party, and the view is amazing. There are sunbeds, some more luxurious beds but apparently you have to get a bottle of alcohol, there is a restaurant as well, but they serve also at the beach. The DJ is getting the place through the roof!!! The drinks are usual between 6-8€. The place closes around 9. I had the best time, while the girlfriend took a million pictures for instagram. The service is quick and correct, there is security supervision. The lines to the women's change rooms are huge around 6-7 in the evening.

Situated on a dreamy strip of land between a natural pond and the beach, this all day beach bar comes complimented with the highest quality cuisine and professional service. Just let go and enjoy the relaxing landscape of wild natural beauty and the clean waters and let all the rest to the experienced and accomodating crew. A favourite and popular place, just a few klms east of Nafpaktos, just make sure you book your sunbeds & umbrella set in advance. Two spacious free parking lots facilitate your visit 24/7.
COSTAS C — Google review
Very nice place, I wish they had a cleaner sea. The overall experience was very nice, but you could see dirt, oil, etc in the sea. The beach bar was great, but it takes a lot of time to get the food you ordered. The facilities were amazing as well.
Athina K — Google review
Nice and well equipped beach bar with very good service. Certainly not ideal for families or if you are seeking for a place to relax (music is too loud). It gets too crowded and the sea is not very clean. It's a perfect location for partying and for ages 18-25.
