Excellent museum dedicated to Copenhagen's streetcars and tramways! Not only does it showcase the city's rich tram history, but you can also enjoy beautifully preserved trams from the Netherlands, Germany, Australia, and even the iconic ČKD Tatra T3 from former Czechoslovakia. Many of the trams are fully functional, and you can actually take a ride on them, making the experience both nostalgic and interactive. A must-visit for transport enthusiasts and curious visitors alike!
Jan K — Google review
It’s an absolutely charming place to visit with family or your love ones, where the museum not only let you admires the historical train or bus through history but they let you enjoy the ride in it through the forest as well the little charming village surrounding this museum , it’s really worth the visit and for reasonable price - perhaps they could make the cafe above in the forest serves fresh food instead of pre packed sandwich
Maheswari T — Google review
Amazing to dive back in time when Copenhagen took the last streetcar driving 1972, beautiful experience to drive on sn old tram along the tracks and have some ice-cream or coffee at the Endstation. Or take a walk back , through the woods and visit the big hangar with old busses as well. Well kept and maintain, and friendly vibes with conductors and driver in old uniforms
Janka D — Google review
Might be the nostalgia talking but it was super fun to come back and see how everything was. Love the gimmick of actually driving the trams from location to location, adds something to the whole atmosphere.
Bastian M — Google review
Surprisingly great! Loads of old trams from the original horse powered ones to modern electrical ones. Almost all of them can be entered for a quick look. Many models are still in use, you can get rides on them to the forest Cafe and back. They also have a collection of old buses and other history.
Petteri P — Google review
We went there for a special Christmas arrangement with a steam powered train, which made the museum more accessible to us. It is a very interesting place for those who like trains and trams, they have some gorgeous models on exhibit and you can also ride some of the trams on-site. A pity they were removed from Copenhagen but I'm happy they preserved some in this museum. The bus exhibit was very worth exploring too. I wish there had been more options for food and drinks but other than that, I would definitely recommend visiting.
Kiril B — Google review
Really amazing museum. Lots of trams and buses too. You get to ride on some of the trams. A very good day out. They have shops recreated like the olden days.

Theme Parks
BonBon-Land is a delightful candy-themed amusement park that offers a wide variety of attractions suitable for all ages. From thrilling roller coasters to family-friendly rides and entertaining statues scattered throughout the park, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The park provides ample parking options, including free parking for season pass holders. Visitors can bring their own food for a picnic experience and explore the vast area filled with exciting features.
Great amusement park , with a lot of great options for all age groups. What I like the most is that we could bring our food inside and enjoy little picnic time. Is the place where we can spend whole day and still get to see new things around(is the big area, there are many amazing things in different corners 🙂) . Great parking space, few games has long queue but most of them had short waiting time. Its advantage that kids under 90 cm has a free entry. There is small water park for kids, so it’s better to take their swimming customs if they love playing with water.
Aarati K — Google review
It is a fantastic spot for a family day out. The kids absolutely love it, no question about that and there is something for everyone, regardless of age. From fun rides and playful activities for little ones to more thrilling attractions and relaxing areas for adults, the place offers an all rounded experience. It is the kind of place where you can easily spend an entire day without getting bored.

Great fun. Family of 5. Lots of people for the Halloween theme. Just a shame the big swing wasn’t working again. 2 times I’ve been here this year and it was off.

Such a fantastic day out we had here. Denmark is such a beautiful country. Henry the mascot was a giggle brought a teddy back with us. Loved this place, different to the norm. Would deffinetly advice a visit here
Diane D — Google review
Excellent location and opportunities for kids to play around!!! Probably among one of the best near Copenhagen..!!!, Unfortunately three of the main rides were not functional today 24/07… And the park was swamped by BEES both my children had been stings…
Junaid — Google review
It's an amazing amusement park and the rides are awesome. The food they sell is also great. There is also a relaxing place to eat breakfast or lunch near the ducks and fish
Malek A — Google review
1. A bit too expensive. Differentiate between people taking the rides and those who just accompany them. 2. Many attractions were closed, and there was no info about it before er entered. 3. It's quite pricey - also with the golden membership card. 4. A bit neglected here and there. 5. What is that thing with farting in Bonbon Land? Is this really something that you can offer children in their spare time? (Show about farting, etc.) 6. Food is junk and expensive. 90% is just trash like slush ice, french fries, and coke. Besides: good size, quite many different places to play around, a lot of attractions where 3-4 years old can ride on, and rather friendly staff.
Mariusz B — Google review
Amazing park with many goofy animals. Since its quite rural, the queue times were also VERY good

Gavnø, located in South Zealand, Denmark, is a captivating destination featuring a stunning rococo castle dating back to the 12th century. The castle showcases an impressive collection of antiques, art, and furniture that offer a glimpse into its rich history. Surrounding the castle are magnificent seasonal flower gardens that add to the charm of this picturesque island. Additionally, visitors can explore Scandinavia's largest privately-owned picture collection housed within the castle.
Enjoyed the castle and the tulips were gorgeous.
Tim A — Google review
I should have paid attention to the reviews on trip advisors before buying tickets, the entrance fees are expensive not to mention the long journey there and back with castle representative who is self-entitled and lacking in empathy and conscience as per many visitors review on trip advisor. They posted pictures of tulips on their website stating that there will be tulips from April to May but grass is all that we saw when we went in May. Other gardens will close for replanting with clear closure date on the website but this place insist that they did nothing wrong for making visitors travel and waste half a day after paying for the expensive tickets. Their sales coordinator Mit freundlichen Grüssen Trine Skarnager even scolded me and replied in a mean condescending tone for politely asking if we could get a refund and wanting to share our experience on trip advisor. Very arrogant, demeaning attitude and one of the worst service recovery ever. There was poor signage and the castle was cordoned off with no one onsite to ask so we could not enter. We visited Kalmar castle and the hosts there are so much friendlier and helpful with cheaper tickets and the place is much more beautiful with more things to see. In the end I let them keep my money, if only money could buy their conscience, other than swallowing tourists hard earn money for the hollow facade with decaying hospitality.

(Translated by Google) Formerly a beautiful place, but now an unsympathetic cash machine where you both have to pay for parking AND entrance, which is far too high. On the other hand, the toilets smell of old urine, the dollhouse is full of cobwebs and the flower beds are decorated with a mixture of thistles, nettles and dandelions. I used to come twice a year, but now recommend the zen garden in ved De or Kragerup instead (Original) Tidligere et smukt sted, men nu en usympatisk pengemaskine, hvor man b både skal betale for parkering OG indgang, som er alt for høj.

(Translated by Google) Gavnø Castle is highly recommended as a family excursion destination. The surroundings are quite adventurously beautiful. In addition to the beautiful flower beds, there is a tropical house with butterflies, a fine old castle church and excellent play facilities for children with a rope course, tree climbing, etc. Also an excellent place to eat. You can easily spend many hours here (Original) Gavnø Slot kan varmt anbefales som familieudflugtsmål. Man kan sagtens bruge mange timer her
Thomas S — Google review
(Translated by Google) It's a nice place, but like most places these days, it's just a money machine with staff that are either fantastic or downright awful. They will do anything to get you to buy a season pass so you come and spend your money on expensive experiences. Not to mention that they, like BoBonLand and everyone else, brag that you don't pay for parking. But the paid parking epidemic is another matter - it unfortunately came from Copenhagen/big cities, also to Næstved and the surrounding area.

Military Museums
The Cold War Museum Stevnsfort, located in South Zealand, Denmark, offers guided tours of a 1950s underground fortress carved into limestone cliffs. This fortress served as a crucial element of defense for Denmark and NATO during the Cold War. The site features well-preserved equipment and offers an intriguing tour that includes visits to anti-aircraft batteries, anti-ship turrets from a German WWII battleship, and deep underground command posts and armories.
Nobody was supposed to know. Nobody was allowed to talk about it. Buried deep in a piece of cliff, Stevnsfort was a top-secret building block in the defense of Denmark and NATO during the Cold War. The so called Stevnsfort in Denmark is the Last Fortress of the Cold War Era: A hidden Frontline, deep under the Surface. Read the full story about the forgotten fortress here:

Excellent! I had to do the English audio tour with a Danish tour guide, but the facility is just amazing. The tunnels were a nice relief from the hot sun outside. I was able to lock my bike under a shelter, and the staff kept a bag for me so I didn't have to carry it around.
R M — Google review
Very interesting place ! I recommend the visit in English with a very experienced British militar that explains a lot of details even with humour, we enjoyed a lot, great job and thank you!

What an excellent experience, well worth visiting but take a guided tour. I was lucky and was the only one on the English tour and had plenty options to film a photograph thanks to my excellent guide Ulla.
Martijn D — Google review
A tour that is definitely worthwhile. Not only the bunkers and all the military equipment are worth the trip, but especially the dramatic history behind them. Under one of the most beautiful landscapes in Denmark, hides a colossal witness and actor of the Cold War. An absolute must for anyone interested in history. A guide leads the tour through the facility in Danish. An app allows you to follow the most important information in other languages.

Nice place which provides some insights into cold war military securities but maybe its not so aged anymore in the world of 2025...

We visited Stevnsfort a group of friends, took the special tour, and what an experience! Our guide Jørn Due was a great storyteller, and we had an amazing time around the fort and all the hallways and secret passage ways. A big recommendation to visit this place of Danish military history! 🇩🇰

Stevns Klint UNESCO World Heritage site is a geologically significant chalk and limestone cliff located in Stevns, Denmark. Rising 41 meters above sea level, it offers visitors world-class experiences and the best place to see traces of the asteroid that caused mass extinction 66 million years ago. The area features walking paths, an old church, and a museum about the formation of Stevns Klint.
I visited Stevns Klint in Denmark. It is an awesome treat for your eyes, with picturesque and stunning views. The cliffs and coastal scenery make it a must-visit spot for nature lovers. There is so much space for picnic and barbecue. Parking is with fee. Easy access from parking and not so much trekking needed. There are steep steps to get down to the beech. Highly recommend it!
Rakesh J — Google review
Enjoyable little stop. There's the UNESCO site with a couple small churches and a stairway down to the beach (closed when we visited in March), where you can see the cliffs. A couple minutes up the coast is the lighthouse along with free parking and a bathroom. You can't see the cliffs from there but they have free binoculars to see around the area.
Kevin B — Google review
Small place with breathtaking viewpoints all along the clif. Just watch out, hardly any fences and the cliffs must be around 50-70 meters high. At the far end there is a rather large paid (5 euro, card only) parking from where its a 2 minute walk to the church and start of hiking trails along the cliffs
Michiel — Google review
Visited late in the afternoon so there were not a lot of people around. The view of the cliffs were amazing from the old church. It's nice that they rebuilt the stairs with metal now but it is quite steep so need to be extra careful going down the beach. Happy to have found one stone with a fossil as well.
Marvin A — Google review
Great place to visit, the little church is funny looking and it is quite impressive to see the cliff face, even if it is really hard to distinguish the different layers. Be aware that access down to the beach is via a steep stair.
Kasper L — Google review
Beautiful place to visit. The history of the church is fascinating. The shoreline is very picturesque, a nice walk to the lighthouse. Recommend the restaurant by the lighthouse, but may need to book at busy times.
Amanda L — Google review
There is a beautiful walking path along the coast! The cliffs, lighthouse, fort and church were lovely in a bucolic setting.

Knuthenborg Safaripark

Mentioned on

Wildlife and safari park
Outdoor Activities
Knuthenborg Safaripark is a popular drive-thru park in Denmark that features a diverse range of animals from around the world. The park is divided into 11 zones and also includes adventure and water play areas. Visitors can interact with friendly horses and goats as well as encounter more exotic creatures like monkeys, zebras, giraffes, and tigers. The tiger area has been recently upgraded to provide an even better experience for visitors.
We love Knuthenborg. We have been there 3 times (one of them while we still lived in the country). My 6 years old daughter loves to re-visit the monkey area as she enjoys feeding them. This particular time we also paid a visit to the dinosaur park and it was impressive. We are never able ti spot a tiger which is a minus. Usually there are donkeys on the road, but this time they were hiding somewhere. The zebras were also far away from the road. The employees are always kind and friendly. Prices on all merchandise are high. You can bring your own picnic basket from home in case you are concerned about the price and speed of preparation of the food. If I lived in Denmark, I would buy an yearly pass to visit it more than once a year.
Lora O — Google review
Knuthenborg Safaripark is located in a lush area near the town of Maribo in Denmark and is considered one of the largest safari parks in Northern Europe. In this park, visitors can drive their own vehicles along designated routes through open and natural landscapes, getting up close to wild animals such as giraffes, tigers, rhinos, Arctic wolves, and many more. The natural and open setting allows animals to live in an environment similar to their native habitats, offering visitors a more authentic and immersive wildlife experience. In addition to the safari section, the park offers a variety of attractions for families, including a large playground, forest walking trails, and educational exhibits about the environment and animals. There are also accommodations within the park, allowing guests to stay overnight surrounded by nature and enjoy a unique and memorable experience. The park is designed to provide a peaceful and pleasant environment for both day trips and extended stays.
Nikoo S — Google review
Would have rated it with more stars but the new experience of seeing tigers and lions is not good. There is very less chance of seeing those animals. Not from the bridge nor from the panoramic window. The good parts are the dinosaur forest experience and the 2 roller coasters for the thrill.
Cornelia P — Google review
Hopefully this review can help the park make some improvements. The plus side is that you are able to get quite close to the animals and see savanna wildlife in a beautiful setting. The down sides are worth keeping in mind should you plan a family trip there. We stayed there overnight for a quite substantial amount of money for 2 adults and one 7 year old - approx 900 euros. Barely any staff available in the park. Poor directions and signage to drive around. Would be helpful to get a recommended order for the visit. And more info on the animals. In the tent, you are expected to wash, dry and put away your dishes with the threat of a 60 euro fine should you miss doing that. Empty your trash. Put on and take away your bed linen just to mention a few things that you would expect to be included when paying that much for 1 night. The food we ordered to prepare in the tent was bland. Compared to skanes djurpark in Sweden I would say you get much less for your money. I wrote a review for that too so anyone can check it out. It’s a pity because it’s such a beautiful sanctuary.
Johanna N — Google review
We’ve been to the park a few times and it never lets us down. The park is massive and there’s lots to see and discover. You can bring your own food or eat at the various points in the park dedicated to it, apart from the animals that stroll freely on huge terrains there’s also a big kiddy’s park at the bottom that if you go at the designated hours there’s a small rollercoaster and the water log ride included in the entrance price( that if you buy it online you save 30% off the price ) . Very recommended.
Thomas H — Google review
Great place. Kind and service minded staff. We rented a cabin for 4 days. Bring food whit you, if you rent a cabin. There are many picknic tables around the park. So you can bring food whit you on a daily trip also. If you rent a cabin gate close at 17:00 and you can't drive in or out. But you can walk around the park and some hours drive around. Great place for family. We was here in end of season.(October) a little cold, but it's was okey.

It’s a like in the wild experience. It’s really a big park so you’ll need to have your car to go around and see the animals, there are also places you can walk to see other animals. Better start the tour in the morning if you’re planning for just a day trip but they also offer accommodation for families. There’s also different activities for kids. 🫶🏻💕

Absolutely fantastic experience. The animals roam free and there are plenty to see. For me the highlight was the dinosaur museum! With a collection of real bones from the biggest dinosaurs, you get to feel small next to these huge creatures. Would highly recommend. And remember to buy tickets online

Thorsvang, Danmarks Samlermuseum is a meticulously detailed and nostalgic museum that recreates mid-20th-century shops and workshops, featuring a barber, butcher, cinema lobby, and even an old schoolroom. The collection includes tools, bikes, cars from different eras like a 1914 Baker Coupe to a 1971 Fiat 500. The ticket office itself is designed like an antique grocery shop. Visitors can explore thousands of artifacts from daily life spanning over 100 years.
The coolest museum! You could spend hours here and never get bored

What an experience! It is definitely one of the top 5 museums in Denmark. Definitely worth another or more visits, as you can find things you didn't see the first time. Super nice volunteers. See you again
Hanne A — Google review
Amazing free museum for lots and lots of authentic Danish history through common, everyday items on display using a village shop front scenario. Lots of local made candy, cheese, beer, wine, and crafts. They have a cafeteria in the back serving a wide variety of typical Danish fare. They have music from volunteers and the odd celebrity that drops by…Well worth the visit!
Phillip G — Google review
I seldom put museum experience but here is pretty good as they have “old” funny things which you can understand the history in the past a bit. Many nice old / vintage is there which lovely but tough as their restaurant seems is holding a function so not even offer any coffee which we wish to take away.
Cafen C — Google review
Very interesting museum. It exhibits a lot of shops as they were many years before. A ton of vintage items. A heaven for collectors of old stuff.

Very nice place to experience the life just 50-60 years ago. Can't believe this is already a far memory showed at museums. We also had a great lunch. Tak for hyggelig dag hos jer

If you are nostalgic for earlier, less-rushed times, then this place is for you. Thousands of artifacts from daily life going back over 100 years. An amazing collection. The buffet of traditional Danish fayre is excellent value at 119 kr.

Stay away if you have small children! This place is only for adults/ senior citizens. Outside there is some old carnival machines, which my son played with eight when we arrived. We asked inside of they would open / turn on, but where told that they only opened in vacations but we could play on them. Instantly one of the other senior citizens that run the place complained that they are not up to code... Odly enough nothing was fenced off and no signs said it was closed. While buying tickets me and my 3 year old wanted to go in, but where told off. Inside the museum was very cool, but a lot of small pieces where in every exhibition with everywhere signed DONT TOUCH DONT TOUCH. This is extremely hard to communicate to small children when there is stuff everywhere, either have less loose stuff or have some exhibitions where touch is allowed. While me and my son was looking at things my wife was talking to the volunteers and apparently my very small man purse was a problem because I might tip something over. We ended up leaving after 10 minutes. The volunteers where extremely hostile, except for one. Stay away unless you like angry senior citizens or can ignore it and look at the cool stuff.

The Medieval Center is a living history museum that offers a glimpse into the life of a small market town from the Middle Ages. Visitors can immerse themselves in the early-15th-century medieval village, complete with costumed craftspeople demonstrating various activities such as archery, jousting tournaments, and firing of a trebuchet. The old merchant's house with its own harbor and boats provides picturesque scenery, while hands-on play experiences cater to children.
Outdoor living history museum. Went with a small group and we all had a wonderful visit. It was very informative yet entertaining at the same time, with points of interest for both young and old. Would definitely recommend stopping by. All of the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. There is a cafe on site but there are also picnic spaces available. Be sure to arrive before 12:00, so you can see the firing of the trebuchet/catapult. This was one of the highlights of our visit, along with the knight's tournament.
Marie F — Google review
This was great fun! Saw the jousting and trebuchets in action and visited with the blacksmith and weaver.
Julie W — Google review
If you're a fan of the Middle Ages, you've got to go there! Not only do they offer the wonderful recreation of a medieval village, with many houses and shops made with care from the overall architecture to the tiniest details, but you can also attend a tournament, visit an enchanted forest with truly amazing houses (that fit although they're 19C-inspired), and see Medieval machines they have built from scratch. As a bonus, the gift shop offers a Medieval beer they have also recreated and that is made to be palatable to us moderners. A truly wonderful visit.
David D — Google review
Nice place to enjoy the technology and life-style from earlier days. The people working there really enjoy their job and it feels like becoming a visitor of the medieval. Great for kids and with a lot of opportunities to explore the world ages ago. German speaking at the entrance is not a problem.
Torsten K — Google review
We had a great day with our preteen kids. Lots of activities and you can try out many different things. Places to eat, to play, to explore and the staff is always there to explain and share stories. The knight games were awesome! We paid around 500 to enter, and afterwards we found it absolutely worth it. Recommend to come early though, as some of the main activities are timed and done once a day. Parking is free.
Albert S — Google review
This is a magical place. I visited it as a volunteer and got to live there for a whole week like in the Middle Ages. I enjoyed the stay from my heart. Lots of time to tell visitors about medieval baking and show my craft and equipment, including the period appropriate sleeping quarter. Even when there was a slight rain, the areal with its reconstructed buildings was alive with the other international re-enactors who had joined to spend the week there. Visit this place when you are in Denmark. Especially if there is an event with many volunteers. And if you do, don't just walk through the village between the shooting of the trebuchet and the tourney. Go everywhere, try out the small ways, look in windows and doors and ask everyone you meet. All the "medieval" people there have interesting things to tell. They might even let you try out stuff. With children the Center can be a marvellous adventure if you go exploring.
Sebastian S — Google review
Incredible place to visit. Must see! Come early to see it all: the trebuched shooting and the knight tournament! All is so well presented you feel the history alive around you. A very child-friendly place. I'll cherish this day there always.

Awesome experience! Went with my friends (all in our 20s) and it was great fun speaking to the people doing traditional crafts, seeing the trebuchet being fired and the jousting. I would have enjoyed if there was a schedule on when the different craftsmen were at their buildings though

Møn Is

Farm shop
Sights & Landmarks
Møn Is is a charming farm that offers a delightful experience for ice cream enthusiasts. The ice cream is made from fresh local ingredients, including milk from the farm's own cows. Visitors can enjoy exploring the farm and interacting with the cows and calves, making it a fun outing for families. In addition to the delicious ice cream, there's also a small shop offering local products like beer and sodas.
Nice experince to eat fresh and delicious ice creams also u can buy fresh milk Its on the way to Møns Klint For kids its a nice place to visit they can see many cows and calves
Seyda G — Google review
An interesting stop on the way to Møns Klint. An open cow farm with about 200 cows. We got to see how they live and petted some calves. There’s a boutique and a cafe where they serve ice cream with the milk from the farm. There were many flavors. The ice cream is a gelato style, so not very creamy but still quite good. They use premade ice cream mixes, add flavors and fresh ecological milk from the farm. Very well suited for kids. There are even mini tractors kids can drive around - super popular!
Iryna V — Google review
I cannot stress enough how incredible our experience was at Møn Is. Following our Airbnb host's advice, we skipped the grocery store and other stands, heading straight here, and we were blown away. The kids were entertained with toy tractors and cows, exploring the milking station, and getting up close with the cows. But the highlight was undoubtedly the ice cream itself; it was hands down the best I've ever had. I can't recommend this place enough—do yourself a favor and make sure to visit Møn Is. It's an absolute must!
Lauren K — Google review
Kind of hard to find the shop, but worth the search! Amazing ice cream at the lowest prices I saw in Denmark. The pistachio ice cream is swoon worthy.
Heather L — Google review
A Blissful Ice Cream Experience at Møn Is in Denmark! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If there was a heaven for ice cream lovers, it would undoubtedly be Møn Is in Denmark. My recent visit to this delightful ice cream parlor left me mesmerized and craving for more. From the moment I stepped inside, I was met with a warm, inviting ambiance that set the tone for an unforgettable experience. Let's talk about the star of the show—the ice cream itself! I can't stress enough how incredibly delicious it was. The flavors were diverse and creative, offering a range of both classic and unique combinations. The creaminess was unparalleled, and every spoonful melted in my mouth like a dream. Møn Is has truly perfected the art of ice cream making. What makes Møn Is even more exceptional is their commitment to using fresh farm milk. You can taste the difference! The milk used in their ice cream gives it a distinct, rich, and creamy texture that leaves you wanting more. It's evident that they prioritize quality ingredients, and it truly shines through in their ice cream. The staff at Møn Is was not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable about their products. They were more than willing to help me choose flavors that suited my preferences and even offered some delightful recommendations. Their passion for ice cream and dedication to customer satisfaction was evident in every interaction. The setting of Møn Is, nestled in the picturesque Danish countryside, added to the overall experience. Enjoying my ice cream amidst the beauty of nature was simply magical. It's the kind of place that leaves you feeling relaxed and at peace with the world. Whether you're a local or a tourist exploring Denmark, a visit to Møn Is is an absolute must. You haven't truly experienced ice cream until you've tasted theirs. I can confidently say that Møn Is has spoiled me for all other ice creams, and I'll be reminiscing about this unforgettable experience for a long time to come. If I could give Møn Is more than five stars, I would in a heartbeat. From the delectable ice cream flavors to the outstanding fresh farm milk, every aspect of this ice cream parlor exceeded my expectations. Møn Is is, without a doubt, the ice cream destination of dreams. Don't miss out on this extraordinary gem when you're in Denmark!

Super cool experience, where you can go in and see the cows and calves. Most of the farm is open for you to walk around in on your own. Yummy ice cream and gift shop full of local products.
Helena A — Google review
One of the best ice creams in the country. And I mean that since I love ice cream and I consider myself an ice cream expert because of the amount of ice cream I eat. And I don't say no for an ice cream so I can say I tasted almost all the brands available in the market here. So I can say that this ice cream is one of the very best. They also offer very different and yummy flavors. The price is also good. Then you can have a tour of the place while eating your big ice cream.😉

Points of Interest & Landmarks
I am visiting the N.E. German Baltic Coast from my hometown of San Francisco California and I drove over to Kühlungsborn to visit the Border Tower Museum. What a great exhibition of education that explains life during the division of Germany. The exhibit is also a testimony of life in the GDR. The Tower Museum has a sandwich board with names of individuals who were documented escapee's. The museum is split between the tower and the building. If you are in the area, I recommend a visit. Thanks to the curators and caretakers of the museum.
Eddie V — Google review
A chilling reminder of a less forgiving time where the west and east were divided, a Cold War watchtower with a history of those that tried to make there way to the west….. worth a visit. Information boards are in Germany only but the pictures tell a story. You can climb the tower for a small fee (2€ per person). 4 stars only because of the lack of multi lingual support.

(Translated by Google) The burgers may be made with organic meat, but they're not worth it! The BBQ burger consisted of a limp bun/bun, a huge lettuce leaf, almost unchewable onion rings (crispy yes, but not hard and dry and no onion taste whatsoever) and the bacon and a very dry pattie! No tomato, no cucumber, just as described on the menu. And don't forget the slice of cheese?! Simply boring, bad and too expensive! The veggie burger was just as bland! We tried it once, but that was it. There are far better burgers for much cheaper! The coleslaw tastes like the one from Aldi or Lidl from the big bucket! Price performance absolutely not suitable!

The special request for a portion of fries without salt was happily accommodated. The shandy from the Gut Darss Glass tasted so much fresher with the Darss Silhouette ;-) The service was very attentive and friendly. The ambiance, which, among other things, used the old water pipes as cable ducts, has a rustic feel. (Original) Pommes Currywurst, Veggieburger und Bolognese. Serving as both a navigational aid for ships and an iconic symbol of the seaside resort, this historic lighthouse has been guiding vessels since its construction in 1898.

We were on a cruise thru the Baltic Sea and one of the stops was Warnemunde. We walked around the town self guided using google maps. The town is rather small so it did not take long to see it all. The lighthouse is in a busy part of town on the dock area. It was easy to get to the lighthouse for an up close view. Built in 1898 and very much a part of the town.

12 euro entrance is fine, but I would have loved a tour of the place. I have visited Libearty in Romania and several other Vier Pfoten places prior to this place and Bärenwald didn’t convince me that it was a sanctuary for the rescued bears; It felt like a zoo. It was a surprise to me that young kids could run around freely. On top of that, they were screaming which I think is not ideal for rescued bears.

Seen three bears, after doing a few rounds. It's not like a zoo, so you might have to spend a few hours to see any of them, so I wouldn't recommend a short visit. The place is well maintained, a decent playground, which helps to encourage kids to stay longer

An Unforgettable Experience🐻 I had the incredible opportunity to take part in the BärVolontär Day at BÄRENWALD Müritz, and it was truly one of the most inspiring and educational experiences I’ve ever had. From preparing food and enrichment items to observing the bears and learning about their individual stories, every moment was deeply meaningful. I had the chance to watch beautiful siblings Pavle and Sylvia, old lady Mascha, fluffy Ida, feisty Michal, and a teenager Rocco—each with their own unique personalities and histories. Seeing them roam, play, and rest in a safe, natural environment was a powerful reminder of why sanctuaries like this are so essential. Thanks to places like BÄRENWALD Müritz, we cannot only protect these animals but also educate both children and adults about the importance of animal welfare and conservation. A special thank you to Avi and Greta, our wonderful guides, whose knowledge, kindness, and passion made the day even more memorable. Their guidance helped me understand not just how the sanctuary works, but also why it matters so much. P.s. food bar is also very good and delicious (vegetarian) Greetings from Belgium

AMAZING PLACE! It's so good to see that there is a rescue place for bears. The park is well maintained with many branches to see and relax during the walk. There are also many entertainment places - playground for kids and creative ways to learn about bears life (e.g. maze). The entree fee (as of May 2023) is 12€ but it's a good contribution to keep this place. You can easily spend there 2-3h.

This was such a wonderful experience! Nicely done park: educative, inspiring and really moving. The bears are incredibly beautiful and we saw them in so many different states : roaming around, swimming, rolling around, napping. Very grateful for such a place and the attention to details.

Great place to see bears and learn about the species and their history. Natural surroundings with lots of room for the bears as well as the visitors. You can get a fresh "fischbrotschen" and other snacks too. Gift shop has a good selection of gifts and souvenirs. As a well-travelled Canadian, I've seen lots of bears in the wild and I would say that this is the next best thing!

Müritzeum

Natural history museum
Zoos & Aquariums
Interactive displays on local environment, centered on an aquarium with 40 regional fish species.
Small, but you will love it if you're a nature lover.
Manoj P — Google review
It was ok. Everybody was praising it and yes the shown local fish are impressive. But it wasn’t that great for our kids. There was too much text to read for them to follow everything. For adults it’s better. Also the Movie shown in their theatre had nothing to do with the region.
Christian H — Google review
Great medium-sized museum and aquarium. Very educational and easy to enjoy at almost all ages. Plenty of detailed information is supplied about the surrounding national park and it's nature. Scattered throughout are interactive learning stations, some of which easily enjoyed by kids on their own. For adults on their own I would count in some ding 1 to 2 hours here. With kids expect to take longer if you take the effort to engage them and help them learn.

Nice Museum showing the amazing wildlife from Mütitz. It has a beautiful lake with local birds, and an aquarium with huge fish. (find the difference in the pictures)

Great facility!! I thought 14€ ticket is kinda expensive, but it was worth it. All the explanation with English version, English speaker friendly place;) i enjoyed aquarium part and outside lake area. And all the Exhibition are fun to take a look.

Very nice place , they should create a route where you walk and pass everything , because going in here and out there causes you to miss many things by accident. Also if you're a fish expert like myself, dirty tanks will honestly put you down.

(Translated by Google) The museum is great! It tells the history of, among other things, Havelberg and the Havelland region from the Stone Age to the present day, using striking historical data on the one hand and, on the other hand, accompanied by lots of exhibits from the different eras. The exhibition room with things that are interesting for the historical development of Havelberg, such as shipping traffic (some ship models), the industry that was active here, Havelberg as a military location/garrison, right up to the typical room furnishings from GDR times, is wonderfully varied and designed for Something for everyone! The special exhibition, with works by a sculpture artist and a painter, was also impressive. The visit was fun. I'll probably come back. Thanks. Danke. 😃

Need to decide between seeing Sachsenhausen and Ravensbrück best go here. The female inmates witness stories and the building infrastructure left standing give a much deeper impression of all the horrors and inhumanities of concentration camp life in the period.

Karol R — Google review
78 years go, after several months imprisoned in Ravensbrück, my grand-mother was delivered by the Red Army in April 1945. As a member of the French Resistance, she was denounced and deported to this concentration camp. In January 1939, Himmler let build up the Ravensbrück concentration camp in Brandenburg, North of Berlin, the only camp for women. The first inmates - German and Austrian women - arrived in May 1939. Some 130,000 prisoners, mostly women but also men and children, were imprisoned in Ravensbrück. In six years, Ravensbrück was transformed into a vast concentration camp complex, surrounded by satellites (kommandos) serving the German industry. The inmates were forced to work more than twelve hours a day, punctuated by dawn and evening calls, to develop and maintain the site; they served as slave labor in the sewing workshops and electrical assembly industries such as Siemens and Halske, as well as in the arms industries such as Heinkel, BMW, Mercedes and Skoda. Some were subjected to the medical experiments of Dr. Karl Gebhardt. Polish girls, nicknamed "rabbits" and political prisoners NN, Nacht und Nebel. They were subjected to sterilization experiments, muscle and bone transplants... After such a "nerve-wracking experience", my grand-mother passed her grand-children the following message: "There is no foreigner on this planet 🌍. ☮️ Peace can not be kept by force. Everyone shall contribute to achieve it by understanding" What a heritage from such a woman 👩 who survived this part of History.

Fontane Therme

Thermal baths
Spas & Wellness
Sauna
Spa and health club
Spas
Lovely spa and wellness centre, set on the shore of a lake, a beautiful setting. One of the highlights is the "Seesauna", where you can look out onto the lake while sweating in 80°C heat - and dip in the cold lake water afterwards, if you like. There are other saunas, too, plus steam bath etc, as well as salt pools and a larger pool for swimming.
Roger — Google review
Nice Therme with 4 Saunas, a quiet area which I didn't like because it was rather uncomfy with cheap blankets and a bad smell. Beds were also not supporting relaxation in the lake sauna. The library relaxation area is a little nicer but too small. In the lake sauna, you probably always find a seat because it's huge, and you have a nice view over the lake with the possibility to walk directly into the lake after the sauna visit. Especially during winter, quiet refreshing. The other area with the Saunas was good. Here, you have a live infusion, whereas in the lake sauna, it's automatic. There is also an ice area and two walk through showers for gold and hot water. The pools for my liking where all too cold and I didn't spend a minute in there. Overall a nice experience but there is potential to make it even nicer and a little more comfy.
Felix — Google review
Overall very underwhelming. Kitchen closes at 7pm, food is very expensive and of low quality. The only thing that is enjoyable is the lake sauna. Rather go to Vabali in Berlin for an experience 10 times as good at the same price. Terrible lighting concept, no customer experience design.
Eva S — Google review
Great idea to escape busy Berlin for a day and just relax. Easily reachable by public transportation, the train station is just 10 minutes away walking so don't be afraid to go without a car. All facilities are very nice, pool and sauna and steam baths are the best and the bistro is totally worth it!
Estefania B — Google review
A bit further out from Berlin, so I can not get there as often as I would like. It would be great to go once a week and discover everything that they have to offer. The saunas are my favorite, such a nice mix of options and many great programs at regular intervals.
Devin H — Google review
This place is a great place to relax. You can reach the place quite easily with the train and a short walk. I s there during Easter and while it was running at full capacity, it still felt quite empty so that relaxing was actually possible. This is really a highlight since in the other options in Berlin like Vabali or Liquidrom you feel like sardines packed in a can. The employees are really friendly and try their best to make your stay pleasant. Food options in the Therme itself were very limited and overpriced, but options in the hotel annexed are okay. Overall, great experience.
Andrea M — Google review
Very relaxing place, with various saunas and pools to choose from. I was here mid March but the cold did not matter in the warm pool outside, under the full moon. I have enjoyed it a lot and plan to go back as soon as possible.
Val G — Google review
The worst experience ever! The receptionist was rude and disrespectful. We only took 3 bathrobe sets but she entered 2 more into the bill without our consent. They refused to do anything when we asked for a correction, and fooled us to pay the whole amount by promising return the overpaid items to our bank account. The next day they changed their mind, said the only offer they can provide is two free sets for our next visit. How can we still trust such a company who lied and even stole from customers? Of course we won’t visit again! If you expect rudeness and arrogance, that would the a suitable place to go!

The Memorial and Museum Sachsenhausen is a powerful site that serves as a reminder of the atrocities committed during the Nazi regime. Visitors can explore the camp at their own pace, with guided tours available for deeper insight. The museum houses numerous artifacts, descriptions, and first-hand accounts that shed light on the horrors that took place there. Audio guides are recommended for a more comprehensive experience. While some parts of the camp have deteriorated over time, the sheer scale of the site is awe-inspiring.
One of the best I have been to. With the audio guide and information boards you can really get a feel of what was happening here over the 30 to 60 time period
Paul A — Google review
It was very informative with a cheap audio guide (roughly €3. 50). Entry is free. It's not very easy to find your way there if you're using public transport. Google Maps took us in via an office complex and police headquarters (the old SS training camp, I believe). It's got a lot of information in the different rooms with a lot of reading, although plenty of different languages are catered for. A lot of the main areas to visit have been restored or rebuilt and it's hard to gauge the conditions of the time. It does seem to be a work in progress to restore everything and add extra sections. Some of the interactive exhibits didn't seem to work which would be troublesome for those who needed audio guidance. The computers we were using at one point just all turned off. I would recommend it but it needs a full day and plenty of energy for all of the walking and some stamina for the reading. I think they offer guided tours but I'm not certain.

Ok visit, but not that many original details still there which makes it more difficult to grasp the extent of the horror, especially for our teens. Arenas & Stadiums
Olympiastadion Berlin, originally constructed for the 1936 Olympics during Adolf Hitler's reign, is Germany's largest stadium with a capacity of 74,649 seats. The venue retains its original architectural style, featuring imposing columns made from stones brought from the Alps. After much debate about its preservation, the stadium underwent renovations in 2004 and now hosts major sporting events and concerts.
Magnificent edifice of a stadium retaining some of the 1930s original design. Sprawling over a large area incorporating hockey, football and swimming as well as the athletics facilities inside the stadium, the site needs a while to take in, but it is a fantastic place to visit. You are allowed to roam around the complex and there is a restaurant and toilets on site.
Ivor C — Google review
I signed up for the guided tour of the stadium. The staff were very welcoming and the guide was talking in both English and German. The tour was a very informative one and the best one I have had for a stadium so far. Not only were we told interesting facts about the stadium, but we were also told about the history behind it. The stadium is far away from the city centre, although a long journey, you can reach without any issues by public trains. Highly recommended!
Akash P — Google review
We had a great visit here, it wasn't crowded at all, so we could take our time exploring. The stadium is massive, clean, and well-kept. We barely saw any staff that day, probably because nothing was happening. The weather was awesome too, with sunshine in the stadium. We're short on time, so we couldn't see everything.
J C — Google review
What an incredible place to watch an NFL game. It's not the best stadium for tech or anything with no TVs around minus the three jumbotrons in the stadium. But... It doesn't matter. It's a stunning piece of history and it's wild to think Jesse Owens won 4 gold medals in the same stadium. Really amazing stadium!

Sanssouci Park, located east of the city center in Potsdam, is a renowned attraction known for its formal gardens and historical buildings. Built as a summer palace by Prussian King Frederick the Great, it rivals Versailles with its intimate Rococo style and numerous temples and follies in the surrounding park.
A really good trip out around the local area and then to the palace. Its small but impeccably designed with a lot of fine detail. As this was more of a retreat for the king its less grand in scale than other palaces but I really enjoyed visiting it and learning the history.

I loved everything about this venue it's got something for everyone gardens architecture art galleries. We spent 6 and a half hour there and it didn't feel like it in any way the scenes are on overdrive with so much to take in its something that I could do a few times and still have not seen everything. Spectacular day trip for sure 😃

Beautiful and vast city park with breath taking landscapes and architecture. Great place to spend time with friends or family. It's very huge - it may take hours or days to take every route and explore reach path located in the park. The entrance is free and there's few gates you can get through. Hard to miss if you plan to visit Postdam.

A small, cause it was the summer one, but very beautiful palace. With the ticket of 22 euros you get to visit almost all places in Potsdam. Definitely more worth it to visit in the summer time or at least while everything's still green, since the gardens are a big, important part.

Sanssouci Park is absolutely stunning! Walking through the gardens is a true delight, with so many beautiful spots to explore and photograph. The highlight for me was the Orangerieschloss! Definitely a must-see. It’s the most beautiful building in the park, with incredible architecture and charm that you won’t want to miss. Whether you’re a history lover, architecture fan, Sanssouci Park is an unforgettable experience. Truly 5 stars!

Cecilienhof Palace, located in the northern end of Neuer Garten park in Potsdam, is a historic site with a rich and complex history. Originally built for Crown Prince Wilhelm of Prussia and his wife Duchess Cecilie, the palace was their residence until February 1945. The couple's support of Hitler led to their forced departure from Cecilienhof during World War II.
Relatively small palace but the architecture is beautiful and the history is really interesting. This is where the US, UK and former Soviet held the Potsdam conference. If you visit Potsdam I highly recommend to visit this palace! We were here after Sanssouci palace and had only 2 hours but we needed more time, learned so much from the audio guide too.

Blown away by the glorious beauty and the history of the place. Achingly gorgeous setting, sobering history. The gardens were in full bloom, an explosion of color that set off the Tudor-style mansion. Very surreal to imagine the events here that shaped the 20th century. Phenomenal woodwork - I could see the similarities with the James J. Hill mansion in St. Paul. Lots of fantastic books in every room. An absolute must-see.

What an amazing place! So much history. No backpacks inside as the space is smaller than you'd think. Make sure to download the app to hear the navigation and information for each space!

Worth the short bus ride to get to. It’s a unique palace/country house with a lot of history behind it. Many of the rooms on the inside are set up how they were during the Potsdam Conference which is interesting to see.

A must if you love architecture and WWII sites! The Tudor villa is amazing and its gardens immaculate. The outside is free but if you want to visit the inside downstairs where the Potsdam conference happened, you will need a ticket! I just purchased on site and they have free audio guide too! Cash and credit cards accepted! You need to use lockers for backpacks make sure you have euro coin and filming was not allowed. The beautiful red star garden is only seen from the inside! Highly recommend!

At first glance, it seemed like a normal palace but it holds a dual history. One of the kings before the fall of the empires and other the after WW2 history. Many historical figures lived here who decided the aftermath of the world after WW2. It's the iconic conference venue of the conference. Around this you have an excellent beautiful garden. Wonderful lake. Nearby other palaces. Overall it's a must visit place. You can be part of WW2 history.

This is - it absolutely is! - the model for the houses of chocolate I used to see in my childhood infant books. This Tudor style little palace is gorgeous, it comes straight out from wonderland. I couldn't help noticing the Red Star in the back garden... it was still there many decades after it was probably imposed on this site by some over-zealous garden-chief.

The House of the Wannsee Conference stands as a haunting reminder of one of history's darkest chapters. This lakeside villa, where Nazi officials convened in 1942 to orchestrate the horrific 'Final Solution' aimed at exterminating European Jewry, has been transformed into a poignant memorial and educational center. Visitors can explore the chilling logistics behind this tragedy while reflecting on its profound implications for humanity.
The beauty of this place and wonderful weather I had on the day of my visit emphasised the clashing experience of what happened here in 1942. Very well prepared exhibition with many resources and interest g forms of exhibition. Entrance is free so is the car park. Highly recommend, also as a picturesque nature spot at the lake.

A visit to the Wannsee Villa is highly recommended. This historic site, where the Final Solution of the Holocaust was planned, offers a deeply informative and compelling museum experience. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and a serene lake, the setting adds a peaceful contrast to the weight of its history. It’s an important place to learn, reflect, and remember.

For me it was spinechilling to walk around the mansion where the famous conference was held. The park and the mansion is very attractive inside there is an exhibit with a lot of documents, photos. Upstairs you can find a huge library with a lot of books on holocaust. I would definitely suggest visiting this place. Entrance is free.

When I visited, meeting room was being cleaned, so I couldn’t see it, but it’s worthseeing - very informative and thought provoking about the world we live in today. Such a peaceful place and yet such horrible plans were structured in it. Sarcasm, German humor, call what do you want.

It’s beautiful. It’s hard to imagine of how a place with dark history look beautiful. Anyway, dark things don’t only happen in dark places but also in bright places gardens flourish and flowers blossom.

Well done experience using their guide (so heart wrenching though…which contrasts with the beautiful view from the back of the house

I like to come here by bike from Potsdam. It's a good place to read a book, take notes, or just daydream.
