Ely Cathedral is absolutely stunning. The architecture is breathtaking, especially the unique Octagon Tower and the spacious Lady Chapel. Inside, every detail feels majestic yet peaceful. The staff and guides are very welcoming, and the whole visit is well worth it. A true gem and one of the most beautiful cathedrals in England.

Spectacular and unique among cathedrals, its wooden octagonal “lantern” high above the crossing is amazing to see and explore. We booked an Octagon Tower tour before our visit, and learned from our guide the original tower had been square and built in a Romanesque design, but that unstable ground - possibly exacerbated by construction of the adjacent Lady Chapel - had caused the tower to collapse in 1322. Something new was clearly required, and result was an octagonal tower made of stone and wood that was lighter in weight, spread the load more evenly, and that had an upper row of windows to admit light (a “lantern”). After examining this construction method on a model at ground level we were escorted up the first spiral staircase to the clerestory, where we were asked to deposit backpacks and purses. Nearby were the bass pipes of the organ, some of them so long that they are installed horizontally. Three more stairways ensued, two of them among the narrowest we have ever climbed in a Cathedral. All were inside the walls, and the one that accesses the roof requires one to bend almost double to duck through the exit door. The interior of the Octagon Tower is a busy maze of beams installed in the 14th Century, with some of the larger pieces at least 1,000 years old. We approached the lantern from behind and found it consisted of a number of high, narrow, painted doors, three of which were opened for us so we could peer across the octagon to the painted other side, and crane our necks to see the altar far below. It was absolutely splendid. We learned that the lantern’s last significant structural restoration was done under architect Sir Gilbert Scott in the mid 1800s, and that the lantern paintings (and part of the nave ceiling) were completed in the 1860s. Outside on the lead-clad roof we were treated to a terrific view over the city. Back downstairs we explored the magnificent Lady Chapel and some of the Chantry chapels before calling it day. Practical info: A tour will really make your time at Ely come alive, so visit the excellent Ely Cathedral website to see what is on offer. Allow about 2 to 2.5 hours for a visit.

An impressive and magnificent cathedral that makes Ely – even though it’s the second smallest city in England – truly special. Knowing that this remarkable building is almost 1,000 years old makes the visit even more fascinating. It’s also interesting to learn that parts of the first Harry Potter film were shot here. The audio guide is excellent and very informative.

Beautiful cathedral. This is an excellent place to visit for a day out. The grounds and staff are helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. If you are in the area, well worth the trip. There are numerous pubs, shops, and restaurants near the cathedral as well.

What an amazing place to visit and look around. Lots of things to see, so much history and so much beauty. The ticket price of £14 pp may seem quite steep, but you could essentially spend hours here and still not be bored. Be mindful that the Stained Glass Window Museum costs extra (to be the cost for this is quite steep for what it is) and it is also up some steep flights of steps so no good for people with disabilities; but interesting to look at the stained glass exhibits.

Ely Cathedral is fantastic. Special mention goes to Tracey, our guide on the Octagon Tower Tour. She was so full of amazing information and her pacing of the tour was perfect. Such a special and unique place.

A beautiful building from the outside and looks magnificent inside. But sadly they charge a ridiculous £14 per adult to enter just for a 20-30 minute browse. Understand they need to maintain the place but this is meant to be part of our collective heritage and should be open to all for a much smaller donation. In France similarly grand cathedrals outside of Paris are free to enter. Also, the church fathers have built an ugly building opposite the entrance that really ruins the surrounding area ( see picture). Disappointed.

Fantastic day, need more than one day to see everything. We mainly done hanger 1, the US area and the outside planes. These were knowledgeable and informative. We became members so we can come back a few more times. 100% recommended. All the staff we spoke to were lovely.

Great museum. It's huge. Spread over several hangars and buildings, and includes a Concorde, B52, SR71, U2 and many others. When we visited there were lots of light aircraft and classic planes like spitfires and bi-planes flying as well. There are several restaurants, a free shuttle bus, large gift shop and lots of volunteers (in red) more than happy to help. Car parking is free.

The Duxford Air Museum is an absolutely incredible place to visit! The collection is vast and beautifully displayed. The exhibitions are informative and engaging, with plenty of interactive displays and stories that bring the history of flight to life. Watching aircraft take off and land right in front of you is an unforgettable experience. There are also great facilities — plenty of parking, a nice café with good food and coffee, and lots of space for families to explore.

As a big aviation enthusiast, I was really looking forward to exploring the site and seeing some of the iconic aircraft up close. There was a short wait to buy tickets, and while the entry price did seem quite steep, I was happy enough to pay it for the chance to see the planes I’d come for. Unfortunately, the gentleman at the ticket desk (older, with white hair and a beard) was rather unfriendly and didn’t offer the warmest of welcomes — not the best start to the day. My first stop was the Concorde, which I’ve always wanted to experience. There were two staff members standing by the entrance, but they seemed too caught up in their own conversation to greet visitors or answer questions. Once onboard, there was no one available to provide information or engage with visitors, which was disappointing — especially for such a famous aircraft. After leaving Concorde, I made a beeline for the commercial airliners on display outside — the part of the visit I was most excited for. Unfortunately, when I arrived, all of them were closed for the day except the aircraft in British Airways livery. While that one was open and staffed, and the gentleman onboard was extremely knowledgeable and happy to answer my questions (thank you for that!), I couldn’t help feeling disappointed that the others were shut. Throughout my visit, I also noticed that staff presence around the site felt quite sparse. In several areas, particularly around the commercial airliners, I had a lot of questions but couldn’t find anyone to ask. I was later told that access to the aircraft varies by day, which feels like a bit of a “luck of the draw” situation — fine if communicated clearly, but frustrating when you’ve paid full price and key exhibits aren’t open. Overall, while I did enjoy parts of the visit and found the open aircraft fascinating, the lack of staff engagement, limited access to exhibits, and inconsistent communication left me feeling underwhelmed. With such an incredible collection, I had hoped for a more welcoming and interactive experience.

Incredible place! Honestly the best aviation museum I have ever been to and one of the best museums I have been to overall. Lots to see, lots to interact with, actually getting into some of the planes, many elevated platforms and floors to see these huge aircraft from different angles. The airfield is active with all sorts taking off and landing throughout the day. Accessibility for wheelchair users is great too.

Very extensive collection contained at an active airfield. Vintage planes taking off and landing all day was a huge perk! To see these aircraft still flying is indeed a pleasure! Everything was in good order and labeled. Well worth spending the day here; so very much to see and experience!

Visited IWM Duxford during the school summer holidays and explored at our own pace. The vast hangars packed with iconic aircraft—from Spitfires to Concordes—bring aviation history to life. Interactive exhibits, flight simulators, and outdoor displays kept everyone engaged. Super accessible with wide paths and family facilities. A brilliant day out for all ages!

The Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge is truly a gem—and completely free! Founded in 1816 from the personal collection of Richard Fitzwilliam, it has grown into a world-class museum with stunning collections of art, antiquities, manuscripts, and decorative arts. The building itself is beautiful, with grand galleries and a light-filled central hall. Highlights include works by Turner, Monet, and Van Dyck, as well as fascinating Egyptian, Greek, and Roman artifacts. Every corner has something to surprise you, from delicate miniatures to imposing sculptures. Whether you’re an art lover, history enthusiast, or just curious, it’s easy to spend hours exploring. A perfect cultural stop in Cambridge, and a must-see for both locals and visitors.

This is a fantastic museum and if you’re interested in art, it would be a reason enough to come to Cambridge, even if you have nothing else while you’re here. There’s a lot of nice impressionist paintings as well as other realist and pointillism from around the same time. As you could see in the photos, the Holdings for armory, Greek, Roman, Egyptian, ceramics are very extensive. I’ve got a big gift shop in a very nice little café on site as well. It’s really nice.

A true oasis of culture and beauty in the heart of Cambridge. Whenever I have a bit of time I like to walk in and get a good dose of inspiration. The museum never disappoints. The staff are lovely, helpful and friendly. I like the new, more modern display mixing various periods under different themes, it's refreshing. There are always fascinating temporary exhibitions too. The café and gift shop are also excellent. All in all, the Fitzwilliam museum is a must if you have more than several hours in Cambridge.

An outstanding museum in an impressive building! It offers a compact and clearly arranged collection of works of art, priceless historical artefacts, coins and much more. It may seem surprising to someone from Germany, but like many other institutions in England, admission to the Fitzwilliam Museum is free. Culture should not be commercialised and should be accessible to everyone – the UK is absolutely on the right track here. Anyone who is in Cambridge and has not yet visited the Fitzwilliam Museum has really missed out on a significant opportunity!

The Fitzwilliam Museum was much bigger than I expected and definitely worth visiting. There’s a surprisingly large collection of drawings and artworks, and you can easily spend hours exploring without getting bored. I also bought a ticket for the ancient exhibition. It was quite small, but well-curated and genuinely interesting. Overall, a great experience and absolutely worth the trip. I’d recommend it to anyone spending time in Cambridge.

Very nice museum with a lots of different arts displayed from various era and places. If you like arts your place is here when you visiting Cambridge. The entry was free, the staff was polite and helpful all the way. Please make a note turn off your phone flash as it harms the the displayed arts. The staff also will ask you politely. You can take many photos as you want. Very diverse and nice collection. Recommended to visit it. I post pictures from my favourite part the armory.

Excellent museum in Cambridge, with an amazing art gallery and Egyptian, greek&Rome artifacts to name a few. Nice cafe and shop. Highly recommended A+++

It was one of the best experiences I have ever had. If you visit Cambridge, this should be definitely in your bucket list. To go punting in river Cam. It was a wonderful experience. You can book a boat for yourself, or you can share a boat, and if you're confident enough, you can ride on your own.

If you’re in Cambridge, make sure to go “punting” on the River Cam. Rent a boat for £30, spend a few hours paddling down the river. You’ll cross the Bridge of Sighs, the Mathematical Bridge, and many others. Many guided tours available. The red boats offer alcohol for sale. Excellent leisure activity in the afternoon with family or friends.

As soon as my boat start journey I feel I’m in a magical land for the time of my River Cam tour on the punt. Can’t explain the atmosphere in words. A must experience thing in the whole of Cambridge. The weather was cold but bright day and got some pics. I would recommend not focusing on taking pictures much coz you’ll loose the feel of the punting trip. This river is a source of great nature beauty, swans, bridges as well as colleges universities n many historical buildings. There must b lovely walks especially in summer or spring when the weather is on peak n gives u all to make an amazing atmosphere.

A charming riverside to spend your weekend! with some famous colleges to keep you architectural company...throw in a picnic and there you are in Paradise! 👍✌

I was in a magical land for that one hour in River Cam on the punt. Can’t explain the ambience in words. A must must visit in the whole of UK. We went in late November, but the weather was kind and got some amazing pictures. I would recommend not focusing on taking pictures much coz you’ll loose the feel of the punting trip.

The total experience of punting down the River Cam in the educational city of Cambridge was so awesome. It was exciting and calming at the same time, passing under various bridges and flanked by historic buildings like St. John's College and Queen's College among others. The views are picturesque and breathtakingly beautiful.

Had an absolutely unforgettable experience skydiving. From start to finish, everything was smooth, safe, and exciting. A big thank you to my instructor Leigh, who kept me calm, guided me every step of the way, and made sure I enjoyed every second in the sky. And hats off to Dave, the photographer, for capturing the whole experience perfectly and helping me feel at ease. I felt completely safe, well taken care of and truly one of the best experiences of my life! Highly recommend this place and the amazing team behind it. 🙌🪂

Wow, what an amazing experience! Instructor Gary made me feel so comfortable and safe, hopefully his ears have recovered from my screaming! Sean captured some amazing memories on film and in photos too! The whole day from start to finish was brilliant I couldn’t fault it at all. One of the life time bucket lists ticked off. Amazing group of professionals who can take you on tandem skydiving with proper guidelines and make you feel at ease. Amazing experience. Thanks to my instructor, Mauris who made it even more enjoyable. The wait sometimes might be more than you think just because of wind or unpredictable weather. The place is equipped with a cafe to keep you stuffed in such a case. Lovely people and it can be quite busy. The footage, videos and pictures are classy too.

We finally made it on our fourth attempt because of the weather, but it was really easy to rebook every time. The day we did jump was glorious so it felt like a reward for our patience... and it was definitely worth the wait! Everyone was so friendly and helpful and I felt like I was in safe hands the entire time. The only problem was...the whole jump was over all too soon and I need to do it all over again because I know I missed so much!🤣Definitely upping my game to 15,000 feet next time...

What can I say ,it was an amazing experience doing my parachute jump today .From start to finish ,training, video, instructor's instructions to actually jumping out of the plane at 10,000 ft. My actual tandem instructor made me feel at ease and explained every instruction so clear and precise. What an amazing experience advise anyone to have a go .. brilliant. Really good day out for the family. Recently visited with my kids, their auntie and uncle and grandparents - all had a good time. The park isn't too big, but is very well designed to make use of the space - including a very peaceful woodland walk. They had more animals than I expected, kept in very good conditions. Everything to see from small animals to big cats. Our favourite though was the talking parrots - such good fun! They also have a decent cafe.

Lovely zoo. Small enough for our 4 year old to walk around it twice and not complain. The white lion is stunning, sad back story, the black leopard slept a lot. The birds were amazing fun to interact with. It was lovely weather and a great find. The funding for Alex will be a great addition to the park when he gets there.

YOU CAN GET SOME GREAT PHOTOS.. THE LION WAS OUT AND ROARING WHILE WE WERE THERE. IT WAS IMPRESSIVE TO SEE.. GREAT GRUB IN THE RESTAURANT AND FAIRLY PRICED. GIFT SHOP IS NOT CHEAP BUT ARE THEY EVER. Visited a couple of days ago as two adults and a toddler, came to £30 for us all and then around £16 in the restaurant and £6.99 in the gift shop. Not a single complaint about the price at all! When I first arrived I can’t say I was expecting much, we decided to visit as it is less than a mile away from my in laws house but I can definitely say I shouldn’t have judged a book by the cover! The parrots were lovely and very funny and talkative. Our little boy loves birds so he was very excited and loved feeding peanuts to the parrots. The two walk through aviary’s were spotless with a staff member scrubbing down and dirt or mess continuously. The nursing enclosures were very informative on parrot behaviour as well. Far bigger than what I expected too and took us around 3-4 hours to get around everything. The tigers were great to see. The only thing I would point out was that the large white lion seemed to be pacing a lot and for a lion he didn’t seem to have much space. However it was amazing to hear him roar several times. The reindeer and rhea had a stunning woodland enclosure. The fish and pond was a lovely addition as well. The wildlife park was truly one of the highlights of our week!

We were given a Tiger experience as part of our birthday presents and what an incredible experience it was. Stephen our guide was fantastic, showing us all the behind the scenes stuff and making sure we got the best opportunity to get up close to these wonderful cats. Never ever been so close to tigers and Lincolnshire Wildlife Park did it the best way possible. The rest of the park was wonderful too, plenty to see and do. We will definitely be coming back again!!

Great experience. Lovely place and so close to home. This wildlife park is great for all ages, and people with disabilities, good wheelchair access. The parrots are great. You can have a walk in experience, they fly freely and feed from your hand. Free carpark about 8 disabled bays. Entry fee £16.99 standard £14.99 concessions. Would recommend.

Fantastic day out for the family. There are plenty of animals to see along with talks from the keepers. The work that is done by the staff to care for the animals is great and it shows with the condition of the animals and their enclosures. We visited 2 years prior to this visit and things have changed even more with more enclosures and improvements to older enclosures. The prices for a family ticket are very reasonable considering what it must cost to run the place. There is a cafe on site that does a good selection of food and drink, in the wall next to some of the tables are vivarium's with different reptiles.

This designer outlet isn’t as big as some I’ve been to but there is a good selection of shops including a M&S, Osprey, Levi’s Cadbury Chocolate Shot and much more. I really enjoyed Blud Diamond the garden centre with lush outdoor and indoor plants, gifts, books, household items and restaurant. The Osprey shop has good quality bags and wallets, and the craft shop is well stocked. My favourite area was the extensive well laid out gardens with water features, seating and woods, this is not something you expect to find at a designer outlet. It does feel like an outlet shopping centre because the prices are really competitive.

Springfield in Spalding is an absolute gem, it's the perfect combination of a fantastic shopping destination and a beautiful, peaceful place to relax. It's truly got everything you could want for a great day out First off, the shopping is brilliant. The outlet stores offer a huge range of brands, from high-street favourites like M&S and Joules to well-known names like Clarks and Levi's. You can find everything from clothes and shoes to homeware and gifts, all at great prices. It's the kind of place where you can easily spend a few hours browse and still feel like you only scratched the surface. The layout is also very pleasant, so it doesn't feel overwhelming like a huge indoor mall. But what really sets Springfield apart is the stunning Festival Gardens. It's a wonderful surprise to find such a beautiful, landscaped space right no ext to the shops. The gardens are an absolute highlight, offering a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle. The themed areas, water features, and woodland walks make for a lovely stroll. It's a fantastic spot to take a break, enjoy a coffee, or just admire the beautiful flowers. The gardens are clearly well-cared for, and it's a real joy to walk around them. The fact that these two elements - the great shopping and the gorgeous gardens - are together in one place makes Springfield so special. It's a place where you can shop until you drop, then step outside into a serene and inspiring garden to relax and recharge. The whole atmosphere is welcoming and enjoyable, making it a wonderful experience for everyone. I loved every minute of my visit and I'm already looking forward to going back.

As a wheelchair user this place was great to visit. Nice smooth floors both inside the shops and in the street area. Plenty of parking and everything was clean and tidy. We visited the garden centre cafe for food and weren’t disappointed. Grandchildren loved shopping for accessories and daughter in law found a birthday present she liked easily.

Not a bad place to go shopping. I detest shopping. Here is a good spot to whip around a wide range of shops grabbing all the bits you have needed to get for the last few years and then grab a coffee to celebrate getting it over with. Parking is excellent, always room for my camper van, I like a big space. Reasonably priced.

Very clean and spacious, a variety of shops to look around. Adventure land was great fun for the kids. The ducks were not at all afraid of humans which shows how well they are cared for. Sitting around the ponds was quite peaceful. I cant find fault with anything at all.

The restaurant in the garden center is very nice, with a large room, comfortable seating, delicious meals, and a very large selection of gluten-free desserts. Everyone will find something for themselves there.

Caught out by the parking charge . Thought he first hour was free - I was wrong. Got stuck at the gate with about 20 cars behind me . Called for help and the attendant could not have been more unfriendly. Told me to reverse directly at the queue of cars behind to make them move - I was in a van with zero rear view and aware that the queue behind were not feeling hospitable! I would have happily paid a charge by cc at this point but that could not be offered and they instructed me to either force the cars behind me to move or to leave the van and block the exit while I walked back to a pay station - accepting my mistake was my fault , the response from this team was pathetic.

A beautifully designed and built cathedral. Are there better ones - depends upon what is considered better, this one is full of history and stunning architectural details. There was a 5 pound charge to visit the chancel but I did not think that excessive considering the maintenance costs on this building. If you visiting Peterborough, this is not to be missed. Also a lovely place for some self reflection and hop out of the daily trials of life.

What a great cathedral. The architecture is amazing and walking inside its so spacious and the art work is amazing. Such a peaceful place. The cathedral is right in the city centre of Peterborough and you can’t miss it with the walk way leading to it. The cathedral looks so beautiful and grand from the outside and when you walk in it looks so nice

An impressive building with the three arches. The Nave is beatiful too with the wooden ceilings, etc. An amazing building. But, I was disappointed to find that in order to visit the chancel and other areas at the back of the cathedral, I would have to pay an entrance fee of £5.50, you have to buy tickets at the information desk. There is no clear signage of that being the case, nothing to inform me of this. You need to be more clear as it does not say on your website or indeed on any signage that I looked at that there is a fee.

Like majority of Cathedrals in the UK, Peterborough cathedral has stunning Gothic architecture and a real sense of history. The intricate ceilings and beautiful stained glass are breathtaking, and the peaceful atmosphere makes it a perfect place to pause and reflect.

I have visited a lot of Cathedrals over the year across England, and this has to be one of best that l have seen. l was very impressive with both the inside and the outside of this cathedral. I would highly recommend coming here. The cathedral is free to visted, but there is a donation box/card reader if you would like give something.

Superlative example of a cathedral lots of spectacular details and information and friendly and helpful staff. Gift shop didn't seem open and if they did contactless donations we would have.

This is one of my favourite cathedrals in UK, just beautiful. Check out their xmas fayre in November each year .. fabulous

My girlfriend and I came here, and it's a lovely walk. In some sections, it feels very close to nature, while others are clearly designed for children to play. It's a wonderful place for a quiet day out.

Visited many times, but today just the wooden trail. However, the whole park it's perfect to go for walks, visit different sites like coffee shops, playgrounds for the children, ride on the train ( this will depend on the days and weather), and also boat rides (this is seasonal). There's a lot in here, as sometimes they do events as well. Always look at the website for what's happening. But, if you like nature like I do, Ferry meadows is a great escape from the town of Peterborough.

Beautiful place has a lot to offer, play areas, BBQ, pedal boats, and lots of walking trails. A small train that takes you on a tour of the park, cafes and toilet facilities. Various parking locations which you pay when you leave. Very pretty place, would definitely return for another visit.

Lovely place for a day out .plenty of walks. parks for kiddies cafe and ice-cream stall and a train to take you round the park. We stayed on the caravan site for few days it was nice .you can also tents in a different area .

Ferry Meadows in Nene Park, is beautiful and peaceful place to relax and enjoy nature. The big lake is perfect for fishing and just relaxing. There are plenty of walking trails, running areas, and horseback riding avaliable. Plenty of adventure woodlands, large picnic areas, and a variety of wildlife, it’s an ideal destination for families, nature lovers, or anyone looking for a calm escape outdoors.

Visited here for the Saturday morning parkrun. Loads of onsite parking which is only £1 for park runners. This is very well attended event , with 600 people on the day. The park is great with loads of facilities including toilets, cafes etc. The run is two out and back loops, there are some 2way parts that get a little squeezed but for most of it there is plenty of room. Its all flat and alot of tarmac so its a fast course. Lots of marshalls all doing a great job, this is a must visit parkrun.

Parking £4-8. Very beautiful and scenic. Cafe was busy and their way of doing drinks was odd, tea was made and put on the tray but we had to wait for the coffee (they hold back the tray) so tea was cold. Coffee was around £4, cake £4 . Watersports and activities available on site for extra charges. Picnic area and play park. Short walk around the lake and some other paths that we didn't get chance to visit as it was just a short visit.

National Trust description says it all: a fine example of medieval brick built castle. Information on site all up to usual NT standards. Good views from roof and battlements. An hour probably enough to explore and take in all the history. Easy to find, good parking and a fine church within the grounds.

We are Royal Oak Members who partner with National Trust, so we try to visit as many of their properties as we can when in a certain area. This one was a real gem. Parking was easy with a well marked lot nearby. The walk to the top is relatively easy, as the hand rail is actually formed into the wall, making grasping it easy. The steps are not steep, and one can stop on each floor to learn about the rooms, windows, and fireplaces and their significance. The Great Tower has been in the possession of the trust since 1925 and is very well maintained. On a brilliant day, the views from the top are magnificent. Well worth the effort of climbing to the top.

Absolutely amazing place - made even more special as it was a bright sunny day and the views from the top were fantastic. Beautiful grounds too. The church next to the castle was impressive!

What a stunning place!!!! So much history on the walls!! Over the years people have carved their names into the stone work!! I think the earliest is C15th!! Beautiful rooms , and a genuinely amazing story how this gorgeous building was saved from ruin!!!! One of my favourite NT locations!!! Wonderful views from the roof top!!! Xx

Definitely worth a visit, lovely castle. Great views from the top, welcoming staff and very informative staff too at the entrance and in the castle. Fun games for kids to play on the grass too.

A fantastic day out at Tattershall Castle. £10 entry if not paying gift aid and £11 if paying gift aid. 149 steps to the top of the Castle for fantastic views of local areas. Very interesting castle to visit, with multiple floors & great views from the top. The information boards are very helpful. When we visited (Sunday of August Bank Holiday) there were lots of activities in the grounds, for both adults & kids. The only downside is that there is no café on site, just a van selling snacks. But there are options in the village a short walk away.

What an amazing nostalgic cinema, we absolutely loved it. It was a pavilion originally and converted in 1920, so you can imagine Pathe news being showing on the war years. The decor is all original including an organ that would play at the intermission. Lots of leg room and very comfortable.

I don't go to any other cinema now. I love this place so much. The whole place just feels special. It's cheaper than other cinemas but equally comfy. I also love that lots of showings have intermissions. Why cinemas stopped doing that, I don't know. The chap playing the organ is always an unexpected delight. More than just a cinema, this is an experience!

Absolute fantastic place if you want to travel back in time and you're looking for something totally romantic then this is the place. Just close your eyes and soak up the atmosphere it's brilliant. Price's are extremely good for gge tickets and for snacks and drinks. Also there is an old fashion intermission for a toilet or drinks break superb. Loved every minute of it.

Quaint 1950s cinema with lots of leg room and comfy seats. Strange to have an intermission half way through the movie to refresh your snacks, go to the loo or just be entertained by the organist rising from beneath the stage. Definitely worth a visit just for the experience

What a fantastic cinema experience. Like stepping back in time in the best possible way. Lovely friendly staff and nice snacks on sale. You even get an interval and the piano playing. Will def go again.

Fantastic throwback to old fashioned cinema with quirky cinematic nostalgia items on display, comfortable seating, an Interval with the bonus of an organist rising up in front of the screen. Absolutely loved visiting this cinema. Will be back for more.

Absolutely brilliant! Cannot believe we stumbled across this place, a hidden gem! Traditional cinema, beyond reasonable ticket and refreshment prices, an all round wonderful experience!

This is a fantastic place to visit the Abbey has so much to see you will need to spend some time trying to take it all in. The gardens are well worth making sure you get all areas in. Picnic areas and tables dotted about for use some with shade. Toilets at various points around the site.

The gardens and deer park are lovely. I have not visited the Abbey itself yet but if you want a place to get in a walk and wonderful gardens it is great. The maze is interesting and there are several different picturesque spots throughout the garden area. The pottery and café are lovely also.

The gardens are beautiful and well worth a look. It has public toilets and a lovely little gift shop. You can picnic anywhere in the gardens. If you are disabled your carer goes free and your ticket is reduced to nearly half. They have wheelchair hire and mobility scooters for hire which help greatly. I hope this is helpful ☺

A great place to visit. The house is full of historical wonders and the staff are all very knowledgeable and friendly. The gardens are glorious on a summer's day, and full of great photo opportunities. The tea house is a nice place to have lunch and reasonably priced.

Absolutely LOVED IT!!! amazing place for families, for couples for everyone I guess. Abbey is at centre of Deer park with couple of ponds which adds so much beautiful views all around. Unfortunately I cannot able to see the inside view of Abbey due to refurbishment take place and it will be back for public in 2021. You can have a very good walk in the park as well as the Woburn Old Town just meters away from this place. Also, when you drive into this park you fell like Richmond park in London. Definitely recommended!

Fantastic afternoon tea (delicious vegan and gf vegan options available) but you need to prebook your dietary requirement. On booking staff were exceptionally friendly and immediately understood vegan and GF vegan requirements. allow yourself extra time (c20mins) to get there on time as you need to check in at main gate and then drive the 2-3 miles to the house and garden entrance. tea rooms were lovely as was the impressive grounds and gardens. i happily would return with the kids for a picnic and maybe next time would take a look inside the Abbey (add on cost).

This is a beautiful place to visit, it hasn't changed much since i came here as a child. It has public toilets and a cafè and beautiful gardens to walk round. If you are disabled your carer gets in free and your ticket is reduced also. You can hire a wheelchair for free or a mobility scooter for £5 ! I loved it , such a calming place steeped in history ☺

Honestly one of the best days out I've ever had with my daughter. Gorgeous, well maintained paths everywhere. Bird hides to watch over the lakes (while she napped). A big, airy cafe with delicious coffee. Lovely museum with staff who clearly adore what they do! We had so much fun talking to the people who were making a dugout canoe with bronze age tools, and exploring the garden, especially after seeing the spinning and weaving and learning about the plants that make the dyes. My daughter adored playing in the adventure play, of course. There's running water and sand, cute little play beach huts, a mural, slides, more than enough to entertain a toddler for hours! It was really lovely and plenty of seating and shade all around. We will definitely be back with my husband for another full day and hopefully add in some cycling 😊😊 Overall, really cannot say enough about how great the site was but even more so how wonderful every staff and volunteer was everywhere we went during our visit. The kindness, patience, and passion was just beyond what you could ask and we really appreciate it!

Absolutely lovely day out with all of my family which included 19 13 13 10 & 10 year old. There was so much to do and see around the whole of the lakes. My kids especially loved the assault course as did my partner (a little to much if you ask me) 😅. The only thing that I found was missing was bins on the walk ways I understand its for safety reasons but the amount of plastic bottles that were just dropped on the floor was awful. My kids did pick up the bottles they could whilst walking round but had to keep hold of them until the bin at the playground area. Other than that we had a fantastic time. Finished of with a lovely picnic near the playground for my youngest 2.

Love visiting here! Went to a netwalking event held in their conference room with walk around small lake. Facilities were clean and food was delicious (bacon sandwich). Great provision for tea, coffee and selection of cold drinks for the event. Staff were friendly and helpful. Outside facilities are the best part, beautiful nature and well kept paths. Usually you need to pay for car park but as we were at an event, parking was free.

I recently spent a few hours at Stanwick Lakes Country Park (Northamptonshire) and had a thoroughly relaxed and memorable time. The setting is beautiful — wide open spaces, shimmering lakes, and plenty of winding paths through nature. Whether you’re walking seriously or just pottering, the place has a lovely peaceful pace. There’s also an impressive adventure playground (and zip-line/assault-course type features) that means if you’re with kids you’ll very likely hear squeals of delight from the central hub of the park. On the nature side, it’s just as good. The bird-hides, wetland spaces and trails provide a chance to slow down, sit on a bench and watch things happen quietly around you. It’s not just manic play and activity—there are corners of genuine calm and reflection. Like all UK parks do go prepared if it’s been raining: as paths can be muddy and may be dry foot wear

What a great place! So much for the kids to do and see. The water feature is great, the climbing frame is well kept and very safe. The toilets are always kept clean and there is a great choice for food and drinks. Actually they have really nice coffee which is rare. Would be good with a few more benches as there is only a few compared to how many visitors they get but bring a picnic blanket and you'll be fine

A very lovely Nature Reserve. Trails are great for riding on, there's lots to see and do. Very pretty area to visit. And the play areas for kids are fantastic too!

Spent a couple of hours here with my daughter this morning. After building a Minecraft money box, ice scream and bacon roll in the cafe, spent just over an hour trolling the outdoor play area, taking a beating from the vertical twisty slide lol.. The venue has lots to offer , walks and activities, including the previous indoor play area now used for arts and crafts.. nice little venue for the children and adults alike. Friendly polite staff and informative of upcoming events , such as trails , arts and crafts etc..

A great and popular place to visit. Reasonable parking costs , and good places to eat and drink. The views are stunning. My only concern is there's no segregation between you walking and the inexperienced bike riders on there hired electric bikes. It's an accident waiting to happen. However we will be back as so much more to see and do.

Beautiful place to come and fish for a day! The boats are well maintained and they also supply nets and drogue per boat. Such a vast body of water, will need to visit a few times to see it all, and fish it but it was that nice today, I know I'll be back again soon!

A pleasant and civilised day out with families enjoying the beautiful scenery, playing games a d having barbecue. I was impressed with the obvious lack of litter and the well stocked visitors centre. The toilets could do with a bit of tlc.

Had a lovely day, it's about fun, simple rides and the park land. Food was not too expensive either, the baked potato in the cafe was quickly consumed with no complaint. We went to Alton Towers last year and whilst not comparable, this cost about the same as the food there, and in truth we had more fun. There is plenty to improve, not least the free playground and some of the buildings, but go with the right level of expectation and enjoy your day, helping to protect this little bit of heritage.

I was lucky enough to win four tickets to Wicksteed Park in a competition, and I went there yesterday. What a fantastic day it was! I absolutely loved my visit and would highly recommend the park to anyone looking for a full day of fun. The first thing that impressed me was how enormous the park is. There's so much space to explore that you never feel cramped or are fighting for room. The size of the park gives you a sense of freedom and the opportunity to discover something new around every corner. Besides the space, there's a huge amount to do. The variety of entertainment is impressive, with attractions for all ages. Whether you're looking for big thrills or something more gentle, there's something for everyone. We spent the whole day there and still felt like there were more things to see and do, which is a big plus. For me, Wicksteed Park is the perfect place for a fun family day out. The atmosphere is great, and with so much to do, it's impossible to get bored. It was an experience I'll remember fondly.

Absolutely amazing day yesterday. Came with my son and my two granddaughters. Purchased wristbands for all. Great price for family of four..unlimited rides which we all..especially girls took advantage of. As a grandmother of a child with svi I cannot recommend this park enough. From staff to patrons of this park everyone was amazing and so respectful to my granddaughter. Staff were aware my granddaughter required help by her dad or myself to get onto rides..and were extremely courteous. Gentleman on carousel was the best. Thank you sir! Unfortunately daddy and I felt a little unwell after a ride..you probably heard our screams asking for help during ride which my..obviously caring granddaughters..laughed incessantly.. Will definitely return. Thank you guys for an amazing day

Great day. Great value. Great staff. Have selected 5star for rooms service and location as whole day was a 5 star experience. The haunted walk was scary! Our 2yr old, but almost 3yr old.104cm, grandson loved it and got more confident so by the end of the day went on the high swings! We didn't eat there - it wasn't silly money but we had brought our own.

Staff were absolutely amazing enjoyed evey ride i went on with my friend. Favourite had to be the slide where a lovely girl called skye, made the ride even more enjoyable just by not only helping understand the ride but her cheerfull demeanor made the ride soo much more entertaining. Shout out to the meerkats who were adorable as ever.

A great park for toddlers, with both open play areas and an indoor play zone. Kids can enjoy various rides (though some may not be suitable for children under 3. Adults can enjoy walking or running around the park. There’s also a small train ride that’s fun for all ages.

Awful Oktoberfest for 2025. False advertisement with their posters and you left feeling like it was a scam: The event was advertised as a lively and festive Oktoberfest experience, but unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations. When we attended, there was only one food truck, no decorations, and an almost empty room with a band performing, where the only thing festive about them was the generic costumes they wore. While the musicians did their best, the overall atmosphere did not resemble the vibrant Oktoberfest celebration that had been promoted. £20pp for nothing. When a refund was requested the customer feedback team were very unprofessional and you’d be luck to get a reply.

I’m a big fan of cathedrals, and all across Europe they have their own flavour and style. Lincoln follows the Italian cathedral tradition of an enormous (and I really mean enormous) facade. And you can see it’s a facade, it overlaps the edges of the cathedral, but it’s still impossible not to be awed by the scale. No matter where you stand, yo aren’t going to fit that facade onto Yor camera, unless you’re using an ultra wide angle. It’s that big. So the facade is quite unique - Wells has something similar but Wells cathedral would fit in your pocket, yo have to be careful almost not to sit on it by accident. So Lincoln takes this facade to the nth degree, and it’s worth seeing for that. You’ll only see similar things in Milan, and (in a very different style) in Florence. The area around the cathedral is nice too - very traditional, cobbles, steep ungainly streets, closely packed cottages and townhouses climbing their way up these steep streets. This centre around the cathedral is the best bit of the town- the rest is somewhat modernised and has lost that air, so to see the real old Lincoln, you want to be around the cathedral. And the cathedral itself is worth a visit inside and around. I think there are prettier cathedrals - York for one, and more decorated inside (e.g. Ely) but Lincoln does a classic job with a large space. And it has layers of windows that breathe space into the building, it really needs to be experienced in person. And because Lincoln is not on the general tourist trail, you have it much more to yourself. So it’s peaceful, and occasionally, they hold some reasonably priced, and well-chosen concerts.

Visited the cathedral multiple times and what a beautiful place it is! Indulged in the tour, incredibly insightful and fascinating. The tour guide (Believe it was Dorothy, older woman with glasses and red earrings) was a joy to listen to and learn from, and incredibly knowledgeable. The tour was engaging and fun, with all questions being answered. The cathedral is stunning for a building that's a millennia old, and buildings like this need to be preserved for future generations to love and enjoy.

Very impressive on multiple levels. Most importantly of course there is the amazing architecture and rich history. But there is more. The absence of pews or chairs in the nave is refreshing, making it so much easier to imagine what this imposing space looked like in medieval times. They allow dogs, and dogs there were. Somehow this really enhances the welcoming feel of the place. Then there is the most amazingly beautiful Stations of the Cross, a modern work in wood comprising a generous fifteen works. I am a lapsed Catholic and agnostic, but I felt Christ’s suffering through it - a moving and somewhat surprising experience. Last, but certainly not least, we enjoyed one of the best tours I have ever experienced. Our guide, Christine, gave us insight in both architecture and history with deep knowledge and humour, and a particular sensitivity to the younger members of our audience that was very pleasing. All in all definitely a five star experience!

Amazing Cathedral, still baffles me how they managed to construct buildings like this all those years ago. You can get in for free but you have to pay to walk around once you're inside, which was a bit pricey; £25 for two. That's not a guided tour, which you can book for an additional cost. Either way it's definitely worth a visit

Historical place well worth the visit. Step back in time to medieval England.and the ruling church classes! Well preserved history. Activities for children too. Entry is good if you opt for the season pass, one payment for all year...

I love that cathedral. It was amazing experience to visit place full of history. I spent over one hour walking around and inside of cathedral. Beautiful architecture.

I just had a coffee and toast after feeling peckish early one morning on the way up Steep Hill. Really nice atmosphere, airy with lots of comfy seating. Staff were welcoming and pleasant and the coffee was excellent but cup so small I almost ordered a second cup. The sourdough toast was the best I’ve had in Lincoln cafes and this will definitely influence me to return. This establishment felt like a cafe/restaurant and it was only when writing the review that I realised you can book a room. Really handy for the Cathedral and Castle as it’s just a few minutes away.

Service was a bit slow but food was lovely. Very good value for money overall. Not taking a star off though for service as worked in hospitality industry for 16 years so can understand the challenges which can be impacted. Also lovely latte coffees too was worth the money overall.

Was to use a Scottish Term 'Puggled' after trudging up the lower part of the the Steep Hill in Lincoln and I gratefully spotted this establishment just shortly before I need the defibrillator. When we entered we were met by really friendly staff who got us to a table with nice comfy seating. We ordered Tea, Smoked Salmon Bagel and a Sausage Bap. The tea was real leaf tea and was really refreshing, my brother complimented the Sausage Bap through a full mouth and the Smoked Salmon Bagel was delicious with an ample supply of cream cheese. This is a delightful place full of character with a really relaxed atmosphere and professional and helpful staff, if you are passing and in need of refreshment, give it a try.

Popped in to use the cafe. Super friendly staff and excellent coffee at very reasonable cost. Very relaxing vibe. Will definitely return when next in Lincoln... Oh and dog friendly too!!

Had lunch here today. Cheese baguette had no butter on and was dry. The chicken on sourdough was nice however there was only half a slice of Sourdough toast with that smallest salad and no crisps. They did bring them when I asked as per menue. All in all not worth the price.

We parked just down from the apartments which worked out well with 24 hour parking. The apartment was warm, comfortable and very clean in a perfect location for down town and the historic area around the cathedral. It is on a steep hill, but is about halfway up so not too tiring either way! It was a lovely quiet location with a tuneful wren outside in the early evening singing away. A handy table and chairs are outside your door too. We liked the kitchenette and would have made use of it had we stayed longer.

Only had a coffee but it was very good, and a great location (providing you are happy with hills)

We mainly went for the cathedral; which was amazing. The castle was ok too. The best things about it are the views from the external wall walk and the film and display of the Magna Carta. A very important document on which most world democracy is based.

Visited here while staying in the area. A STEEP walk up from Broadgate car park in the town…..get a taxi ? Its free to get into the ‘grounds’ and then pay more to do the ‘walls walk’ and more to see the Magna Carta/prison areas. A MUST is to join the guided walk to get the ‘chat’ about the various areas of the castle….So worthwhile. Cafe is very reasonable too.

Well worth a visit. Definitely get tickets and go view the, prisons, Magna carta and the chapel. Take advantage of the tour, they guides are knowledgeable and so friendly. Also the ticket get you to walk the medieval wall walk. Cafe and gift shop also available.

Stunning views of the city. Wonderful to walk around, got to listen to some stories through the onsite tour guide. The prisons were intriguing (and a little depressing, but I suppose they are supposed to be) . Getting to see one of the last few copies of the Magna Carta is a great view into the past. I would suggest getting the Wall walk ticket. When we visited the list was down so we walked up the spiral staircase, which in itself was an adventure.

Lincoln castle is amazing. Incl. Prisons, Magna Gata, Walk on fabolous Castle Wall with dragons . Family tickets have discount. Carpark is just beside. Highly recommended.

Had a great time at the castle, saw the prisons and the original Magna Carta. Lovely walk around the top of the walls. Shame the lift was out of order, you have to be fit to climb the spiral staircase. Well worth a visit.

Popular mansion and gardens. We've never seen such a queue to enter a NT property as this. It draws an incredible number of visitors and has an enormous car park and extensive cafe to accommodate everyone. That said it didn't feel busy in the gardens or house. There's plenty of room for people to spread out. There are formal gardens as well as parkland to explore. With a veritable army of volunteers tending to the gardens, which were a credit to their green fingered attention. In August when we visited there were a number of activities for children to enjoy. And plenty of children doing just that. The mansion house was built in 1685. All the furnishings and paintings are original items owned by the family. A really nice authentic feature. Don't miss the church, with so many elaborate memorials to the family ancestors. And do talk to the room guides they had lots of stories to tell about the past generations and more recent royal visitors. All good. 😎👍👍👍👍

Belton House is one of the largest National Trust stately homes, with loads to see and do including the largest outdoor play area across the estate. The house inside is stunning and whilst some work was ongoing when we were there it took nothing away from what was and will be a place of great splendour. There are also one lovely gardens to explore which you can take your fourlegged friend (although understandably not in the house).

Belton is a vast estate with a huge parking lot that is a bit of a walk to the entrance. Particularly if one must park at the far end. I was surprised to see so many visitors in late September! It was easy to see why. The house was amazing, dating from the 1600's with most of its decor maintained since that time period. The Trust has done an excellent job preserving the interior. Rooms include a full sized chapel, as well as a bedroom that was designed for Queen Adelaide. The self guided tour finds one going through room after room as it seems that most of them are open for display, unlike others where touring was limited to ground floor or a few rooms to peruse. There is a lovely cafe on the grounds and acres of gardens to enjoy. There were still many flowers in bloom in late September. There is a maze on the far end of the property if one chooses to seek it out. We never did make it to the middle, but at least we found our way back out! We are National Trust members (via Royal Oak Society) so I cannot comment on admission price. I can say that you will see a vast amount upon admission and could easily spend the day enjoying the landscape. One last tidbit: the house was featured as Rosings Park in a Pride & Prejudice film. The front was where Mr. Collins entered with his entourage, and the back is where Mr. Darcy was filmed walking towards the house.

Belton House was extremely busy when we were there but we still had a wonderful visit and did not feel overcrowded (except in the ice-cream shop!). The house was interesting, the volunteers knowledgeable and the gardens were beautiful and well kept. It is a pity the large fountain in the formal garden was not working. We will definitely visit again when we are in the area!

Probably one of the most enjoyable visits I have had to a country house and grounds. The house is not the most spectacular from the outside or the inside but it is both attractive from the outside and surprisingly comfortable inside. It is a place that I felt it would be nice to live in. There is a lot to see in the house and there was a guide in each of the main rooms who was only too happy to talk about the history, royal links and modern filming in and around the estate. The guided tour of the grounds is well worth while as we found it amusing and informative. The estate church is Norman in age and some of the later memorial statues are very impressive. We enjoyed the formal gardens and orangery although the maze was decidedly unamazing. A very pleasant walk down to the lake in a less formal area.

Was very disappointed. Cosy us £60 entry, was told that was for everything but to find out after spending all day there that the lights was an extra £76 !!!! Rip off and with only a handful of rooms decorated, thought it was poor value ... Tips for next year, give a reduced price for lights if there all day and show a kitchen decorated for Christmas lunch

Enjoyed my trip to Belton estate. It was busy due to school holidays and plenty was laid on for them to do. Outside in the gardens it was a pleasure walking round and enjoying the atmosphere. Entering the house every room was amazing and the staff explained all inquiries. Highly recommend.

Brilliant family day out, something for everyone here. Enough rides to suit all ages and queues were fairly short. Indoor areas are great with plenty to keep children entertained, perhaps aimed at more younger children but the dark themed slides and play area is great for all along with the rapids ride. Classics like the pirate ship and log flume for all the family to enjoy. Easy to navigate around the park. Free parking available and gift shop at the end. Purchased a family photo which can be taken upon entrance. Highly recommend for families. Great value with family pass which we purchased via offer code at half price. Bargain! 🌟

We are theme park connoisseurs and this park definitely is one of our top five parks in the uk. As we have kids under ten, this park has things to cater perfectly to them. It's a perfect size to be able to cram every ride in. The queues are small and the atmosphere is very nice. There's a large, soft play and separate aerial ropes. And drop slides. There's a farm on top to. Great visiting during halloween, as there is a pick your own.

Great park but definitely more suitable for small children. Our 9 year old wasn’t as enthused and entertained as our 6 year old. Quite a long queue for some of the rides which meant the kids were getting fizzy. Water wasn’t working either whilst we were there so had to use hand gel - provided by the park - this wasn’t the parks fault though. Good choice of food at decent prices and the place itself was kept nice and clean.

Every member of staff were a delight (apart from the woman in the paying booth.... They were kind and considerate and very child friendly! The rides were great as our two are ten and haven't really been on anything like that much. Excitement overload. The indoor slides and lazy river were a godsend as it was bitterly cold. There were some animals in the barn, and we enjoyed feeding them (50p for feed from a self-issue machine). Especially as the llama and goat were trying to eat the feed out of the machine! And the Shetland pony kicking the door to get more food. There were rabbits and meerkats too. The kids enjoyed picking a pumpkin too which was free with the ticket. Who knew choosing a pumpkin would bring so much delight. Thanks Twinlakes it was a blast!

It's a good value for money with ONE big but, as long as your child is over 90cm. Otherwise there's virtually no rides they can be allowed on. They would not let you hold them on your lap and go down the water slides in the splash zone either. Animal wise it's quite poor in terms of variety. Nice picnic areas. Decent cafe and indoor playground. Car park is decent size but on the rainy day it's a bit of disaster especially if you have to go through it with a buggy.

Went on a Sunday for pre-birthday fun with our daughter, well laid out park with plenty of things to do, small wait for some rides but nothing extreme. Longest wait for for the food as one poor guy was manning the BBQ shack by himself during the lunch rush, He did an amazing job tho! I saw at least 2 people litter picking, surly one would have been better supporting the cooking?

Nice little park suitable for smaller kids. I would say probably 6-10 year olds will have the most fun but might be a bit boring for older ones. You can see some (mostly) farm animals there as well. Most rides are looked after by teenage looking staff which wasn't the most comforting thing although they seemed to check everything properly. If you don't expect any thrills for yourself and just want to offer your young child some good times i would recommend.

Sundown Adventureland is a theme park created especially for younger children, offering a few of colourful rides, themed zones, and imaginative play areas. From tractors and pirate ships to indoor play barns and storybook villages, it’s designed to spark creativity and keep little adventurers entertained in a safe, family-friendly setting. The park is most enjoyable for children up to around 10 or 11 years old. Older ones, particularly around 12, may find the rides a little tame compared to larger theme parks, but many still enjoy the atmosphere, theming, and chance to join in with younger siblings. Overall, it remains a super good family day out.

We went to Sundown Adventureland yesterday and honestly, it’s just wonderful. The attention to detail is incredible — everything feels so intentional and full of imagination. You notice something different every time you visit, and there’s something special for every season. It’s such a magical place for the kids, but it brings out the child in you too! It's so much more than just another attraction, you can really feel the love and care that’s gone into every part of it over decades.

What a wonderful place to take young children! Everything is designed perfectly for your little ones, with interactive displays all around the park, lovely rides and soft plays. It was a shame to have one of the attractions closed because it's not the biggest place already but I'm sure it will reopen soon. I must also mention the fairytale village which was one of my favourite parts! Little houses from lots of fairytale stories that the children could explore and press buttons inside. Sundown was spotlessly clean and well kept and the effort that has gone into designing the park has got to be commended. My children loved it! Lots of space to spread out and play freely... opportunities to meet the characters. We never queued for a thing!!!! Went on the rides as many times as we wanted and practically had the whole park to ourselves! We also stayed onsite at Wild Acres which was really cute. My only criticism is that the bed wasn't very comfortable and it didn't have a proper sofa to relax on when the kiddies were in bed. The hot tub was beautiful and the decoration of the lodge was so magical. We booked our stay for Monday to Friday but that was definitely too long. You'd only need two nights 😊

Absolutely loved our stay here, especially the children there was loads to do there, massive sandpit, loads of different play equipment, the cabins are lovely to stay in, has a small little shop where you can grab essentials, and an adsa 15minutes down the road, only thing I would have to say on the cabins is that the sofas are not comfortable at all, especially if you suffer with bad backs , the beds however are just amazing so comfortable, the fridges needed have a good clean and freezer defrosted, we had a hot tub which was amazing, all the cooking equipment you need is there. The food from the restaurant was delicious

Visited Sundown Adventureland during the summer holidays and had a great time! It’s a lovely park with plenty to explore and so much for kids to enjoy. Lots of fun areas, rides, and themed zones that keep little ones entertained all day. There’s plenty of parking, and it’s definitely worth the money. A fantastic day out for families!

I took a gamble and drove 3 hours to visit Sundown. This adventure was for my sons 5th birthday. I am so pleased we went ! I can not stop raving about it to my family. There are two massive inside soft plays. My children 4 and 5 absolutely loved them. There are walk ways in and around, so u can easily keep your eye on the children. We went in the 6 weeks holiday and it wasn't rammed. There are lots of seating areas and a large variety of drinks and food to enjoy whilst the children burn off there energy. The little rides were brilliant fun and exciting for the children. My son absolutely loved the barrel ride, and the tractor ride, and with no long ques he went on it over and over again! The entire place was well looked after. Clean and tidy! Staff were welcoming and you could see they enjoy there jobs. Entry fees include all rides, so there is no additional costs. You only need to pay extra for food. However, there's lots of inside and outside seating so picnics are welcome too. The miniture villages were magical. The children spent ages exploring inside all the houses. We arrived at opening 10am and left at closing 5.30pm. There was so much to see I advise two days. I can't wait to visit again. My son was jumping around all day telling me "this is the best day ever". And it sure was, for all of us. Please visit this place. You don't know what your missing. It really is a hidden gem.

Went to visit as it was recommended to me. Good size carpark for cars and coaches. I found it very interesting as I took the tour around the house first then went inside exploring all levels of the house. There's plenty to see and I spent 4 hours exploring the site.

Visited this week with my twin's, what a history lesson rolled all into one. Very sad 😔 mixture of emotions as walking around. School's should definitely visit here to educate the kids and how hard England was back then. My twin's understood just how lucky they are. Definitely will come back.

This is one of the first workhouses. It's fairly smaĺl, but has everything you would expect. There is a small cafe here with the normal NT fayre in it, but I think in mid summer it may become crowded. Great place to bring children, to learn about the realities of 1800 Britain. I reccommend the external 30 min tour which you can book at the visitor centre when you get inside.

This is certainly a unique property owned by the National Trust. It gives the visitor insight to the living conditions of the residents of a workhouse that has stood here since 1824. Rooms are set up to recreate the life of the residents with separate wings for men, women and children. Everything is explained on placards and there are volunteers to answer questions. The tour is self guided. This place was very busy for late September, and there were no less than three school groups touring the workhouse on the day we visited. Lots of activity. There is a former hospital/nursing home on the grounds as well that is open for touring. The building holds a cafe and there are toilets should you need them.

Really well presented and so interesting to see the history of what was originally a test site evolving from the poor law. So glad the National trust saved it from the developers. Thanks to the amazing volunteers as ever 👏

This is a really special place that has lots of great stories attached to it. We managed to be there at a time where we could go on a guided tour where we found out lots of facts, stories and were able to ask any questions. The philosophy of the workhouse is explained well and really makes you think about not only the conditions of life there, but the alternatives that were/weren't available. The infirmary is a 'mark in time' and it feels like it has just been left 'as is', only without the medical professionions and service users there. It still smells like a hospital and this only adds to the fascination when looking around. I believe opening hours are limited so please check the website. Came here to watch Pink Floyd Dark side of the Moon in the planetarium. The show was one of the best I've ever seen. Amazing atmosphere in the planetarium. The visuals and sounds were perfect. We also had a good look around the space centre itself. Properly cool place with absolutely loads for kids and adults to do and see. Very educational and we will be bringing our kids to have a look. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and will definitely do it again

The NSC is an amazingly well curated museum with interactive elements and immersive shows in the Patrick Moore Planetarium inside, shows last 25mins. They even have a real rocket! and you can take a lift to see it from above. It's well suited to kids and adults (we never grow up really) and you can touch space objects and interact with some scientific tools and even play some games to test your astronaut potential! I spent 2ish hours there and there's still more that I didn't get a chance to experience. Tickets were £20 & that gets you an annual pass. The cafe they have is great too, they do hot food and good coffee and even an awesome giftshop! You gotta go :]

The National Space Centre is a fascinating place for both children and adults. It’s especially engaging for Generation Y and millennials, showcasing the Cold War era, the development of technology, and the first steps in space exploration in an immersive way. You can step inside a Mercury capsule, see how astronauts eat and live, and even sit in a period-style room to feel the thrill of watching a rocket launch to the Moon on a vintage glass screen. The planetarium, presented as an animated journey, is truly impressive – even for adults. It’s a wonderful centre for both learning and fun, and the best part is that with just one ticket you can return all year round. Highly recommended! 🚀✨

Where do I start. The place was amazing. The staff and the exhibits were exceptional. So much great information to digest and lots of things for little ones and bigger little ones to do. There were a lot of people in, but it never felt packed. The cinema show was brilliant and way more immersing than we thought it would be. The gift shop had a great collection of toys as well as interesting gifts specific to the Space center. A great day out and it would've recieved 5 stars if it wasn't for the poor cafe that was let down by a lack of choice and the cleaning of the eating/utensil areas which was really poor. The staff serving were great super friendly on all departments but the eating areas were disappointing. Still won't stop another visit to this wondrous place.

Located north of Leicester city centre, the National Space Centre is an amazing day out for kids and adults of all ages. Filled with interactive and educational activities, award winning shows on immersive 360 degree screen, and lots more to see and do. Super helpful and attentive staff, great gift shop, lots of space to sit. Buy ticket online for free annual pass upgrade without hassle. Kids could spend the whole day in here to learn and play. Bring your own lunch to avoid weekend and peak time queues.

This visit has been a long time coming, after trudging the M1 for three decades and seeing the brown sign for the National Space Centre I finally found time to visit, and it was no disappointment in the slightest. Many facts and exhibits tie into loads of classic films, articles and milestones from over the years and lots for the kids to learn about along the way. A great day out and at the moment (summer 2025) the artists elephants are all around Leicester. The planetarium is incredible! Please go and enjoy one of the midlands great attractions that you might have missed.

I been there for first time, lovely place with many different views. I can see there is a plenty space for car parking. Amazing location with foods, and gifts. I was so happy and excited to be there and to be part of this. I will share few videos and photos from this amazing place. Highly recommend.

A very well thought through visitor centre , with very helpful, staff. Some of the exhibits are amazing, especially the 'interactive exhibits". It explained the 'science of the DNA testing' as well as the archaeology part. The history and circumstances of Richard III that led to him being at Bosworth Field, and the very sad outcome. The shop & cafe are excellent, and the outside courtyard- with beautifully planted flowers and trees are all excellent; with plenty of seating under shading trees. Altogether, the layout of the experience was very good, well thought out. The fact it had air con, all around the tour was also excellent. The tour is on two levels ground floor , and upper floor - which can be reached by a lift , so no problem for wheel chair users. It was a very moving moment to see where they actually found him in the car park; it has been preserved, for posterity, exactly where they found him, this is outside in a very beautiful 'sanctum' covered over with toughened glass. The visitor shop is also excellent, with many interesting gifts and books, on medieval topics, including the Yorks & Tudors.. The entrance "doubles" also as the exit. I am so glad I came, to see this exhibit - finally..!!

A really awesome and well executed piece of history. The museum is amazing and the display which shows the location of Richard’s burial is incredible. There was an amazing volunteer named Julie who explained the full story behind the discovery of Richard. The centre has done an excellent job. It is a must visit for any historian.

This is a fairly new exhibition with good information. It’s not extensive but there’s lots of information upstairs about the discovery of Richard III body. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Very informative and enjoyable visit. Staff were knowledgeable and provided a real insight into the burial of Richard lll and how they found him. We also then walked across the road to visit the cathedral to see his new resting place which complemented the visit to the visitor centre. Had lunch in the cafe which was great. Highly recommend a visit to both.

The staff are friendly and helpful the story is interesting but I was kind of left with the feeling that some of the exhibitions were almost unnecessary and making a lot out of nothing really such as a pair of wellies worn but the lady who helped find King Richards grave and even a mask and coverall used to prevent DNA passing from the person who removed the bones to the skeleton of Richard ...hardly anything of note regards historical artifacts asides part of the greyfriars abbey walls and floor tiles under a glass floor ! Whilst informative in places not the best museum I've visited .

Brilliant, but not for kids. There is more to read than to see. However, it is certainly not boring for someone interested in history or for a person who is curious and keen to discover new things. And once done, you are right by the cathedral and the pedestrian streets full of interesting shops, restaurants, and major brands outlets.

Had the morning spa session with brunch twice now (Sept 2024 and today) can't fault a thing and I'm fussy (have also been to many different spas) everywhere clean, all the staff friendly and polite, brunch delicious, fabulous facilities with great areas! I'd definitely go midweek again rather than Sunday as we did before as was a bit quieter.

Me and husband had a great time moving between the various saunas, steam rooms, showers and relaxing lounges. Lunch in the restaurant was nice and tasty, we had the moroccan focaccia and they had a deal on cocktails. Robes and towels were supplied, lockers operated on a wristband supplied. Some equipment wasn't working e.g. one of the showers on the alpine 5 showers and the some jets in the outdoor door, so that's why I put 4/5 stars. Would highly recommend though. We just came for the day spa, but we might try and do a session when we holiday at Center Parcs next May.

I visited Aqua Sana Spa on 28/09/2025 with two friends to celebrate their birthdays, as we’ve done in previous years. The spa offers a wide range of indoor and outdoor experiences, all maintained to a high standard of cleanliness. Staff throughout the venue were welcoming, professional, and helpful. The afternoon Discovery Session was a great bonus — a free, informative introduction to some of the products they offer, with absolutely no pressure to buy. The restaurant serves a variety of well-presented, high-quality meals. While we noticed the menu had changed since our last visit and some previous favourites had been removed, the overall dining experience remained excellent. A lovely surprise was the complimentary birthday desserts for my friends (as pictured), a thoughtful touch that really made the day special. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and will definitely be returning.

Fabulous spa. Always come here for a birthday treat. We had the afternoon tea package and it was great. Staff are so good and really make sure you’re happy. It’s a vibe! P.s, how can I get one of the hot stone beds to my house? :)

Booked a spa day for 2. The usual cons...large groups and people who think the spa is a great place to discuss their trials and tribulations in life. Other than that, we had a lovely day, staff were super friendly at the reception desk, the cafe and for treatments. The coffee machine wasn't working for our breakfast time and that was disappointing, as we had paid for breakfast. I had already been warned about the bees prior to going from a friend who had attended the week before. We understand they are protected but I think on booking there should be some information for this, especially for people who are allergic. Steph who did my treatment was amazing!! I will definitely be booking another treatment with her or Nicole next time I am in. Overall, relaxing day, lovely staff, great rooms....Will bring my ear plugs next time 👌

The spa provided a delightful experience, characterized by its immaculate cleanliness and scenic forest views. The steam rooms were particularly enjoyable, offering alternating weak and strong cycles that enhanced the modern aesthetic of the facility. A minor inconvenience was the limited access to jacuzzis, with only two available. > While the Vitale Cafe featured exceptionally pleasant staff and a predominantly delicious array of desserts, its main courses proved to be a considerable letdown. We sampled several dishes and noted issues such as a bitter taste in the garlic focaccia oil, an inconsistent texture in the bread (a blend of dry and fresh), and excessively oversalted fish cakes, where the pervasive taste of salt predominated

Really lovely experience as had lower expectations with the mixed reviews. Firstly the issue of never being able to get through to anyone on the phone- I messaged on Facebook and Instagram and someone got back to me the same day to ask for my number so an agent could call. I had a call within a couple hours and my voucher was redeemed and our spa visit booked! The actual spa facilities were very clean and everything was working! It definitely feels very busy in there, I'm not sure that numbers are monitored so I would definitely avoid going over Xmas and summer holidays. The food in the restaurant was lovely and the staff were all very friendly. On the whole, a really nice experience.

Bradgate Park is truly a gem, an incredible place to unwind, take a long walk, and just breathe. It's the kind of spot where nature does all the talking. The landscape is vast and beautiful, with open spaces, ancient trees, and a peaceful atmosphere that helps you disconnect from everyday life. It used to be quieter, and while it's more popular now and can get busy, there are still those rare, quieter days when you can enjoy the serenity and really take it all in. If you're lucky enough to visit on one of those days, the peacefulness is something special. Perfect for a picnic, a long stroll, or even just some time to sit and think. Just a tip bring everything you might need, because you might find yourself staying longer than planned. It’s that kind of place.

Bradgate Park itself is beautiful – really enjoyed walking around and especially loved seeing the deer roaming freely, which made the visit feel quite special. The scenery is lovely and it’s a great place to spend time outdoors. That said, the parking felt quite extortionate, which does take away from the experience a bit, and the men’s toilets could definitely be improved in terms of cleanliness. Overall, worth visiting for the park and wildlife, but a couple of practical things could be better managed.

The walking and running tracks are well-maintained, offering routes for all fitness levels and interests. Overall, Bradgate Road and its surroundings provide a peaceful escape from the city, combining nature, history, and recreation in one truly lovely destination.

The park is beautiful. What I didn't like was the amount of dogs off leads near the deers. This included a pit bull. Owners need to be wary at all times as deer are loose everywhere. Great for photographers. I parked in the south woods carpark as it is £2 all day.

A beautiful park and a great place for hiking, walking, and simply relaxing. It’s always thrilling to see wildlife up close here. Toilet facilities and cafés are available both at the entrance and in the middle of the park, which makes it very convenient. You can easily spend the whole day enjoying a picnic and connecting with nature and wildlife. There’s plenty of parking available — £5 on weekdays and £6 on weekends for the full day. It’s also good to see that bins are placed throughout the park, helping to keep it clean.

What and incredible place! Visit the ruins and the gardens. Take a walk alongside the stream. Or hike up the rocky hills to take in the panoramic views and pay your respects at the war memorial. Deer and Peacocks wonder freely around the grounds. This really is a stunning part of the midlands. When you need to rest your legs you can pop into the cafe to refresh, grab a bite to eat and take bathroom break. There's something for everyone to enjoy regardless of your physical abilities. I came via public transport from Nottingham. The number 9 Kinchbus took me from West Bridgford (Notts) to Loughborough (Auberry Gap stop), and then I got the 154 Centrebus from the Auberry Gap stop to the reservoir at the Bradgate Park. The stop which takes to back to Loughborough is also right next to the reservoir wall. I believe the last bus back to Loughborough is at around 18:30, and then there are multiple late buses back to Nottingham from there

Fantastic parkland with a large expanse of green space, some striking landmarks and remarkable prehistoric rock formations. Bradgate Park dates back around 800 years, when it began life as a deer park, a role it still fulfills today with a large herd of Fallow and Red deer. It's also home to the impressive ruins of Bradgate House, one of England's oldest brick built houses, and amazing ancient oak trees, many of which date back over 500 years. The park is maintained to a very high standard and has a number of entrances, each with their own parking area (charged daily at a reasonable rate) and public toilet facilities. Tearooms are located near the reservoir and the Newtown Linford entrance. The path is crossed by a network of well maintained and clearly signposted paths, ideal for dog walks and popular with families. The Newtown Linford entrance is best for short, easy walks past the stream to the house, while the Hunts Hill entrance in the upper part of the park is best for more challenging walks to Old John Tower and the Leicestershire Yeomanry War Memorial. These high points offer expansive views over the surrounding countryside and the Leicester skyline, with rugged rocks in the foreground. We stopped here on the way to the Peak District thinking the park would be a more interesting way to break the journey than a motorway service station, and were very happy to have done so. A real suprise that exceeded all expectations.

Nottingham Castle played an important role in Britain's history. Apart from being famous for being home to the Sheriff of Nottingham, the castle was a strategic stronghold during England's civil war in the 1600's. Today the castle is museum that houses exhibits of Nottingham's lace manufacturing, studies surrounding the "Major Oak" in Sherwood Forest, and many other interesting displays. Outside the walls is a statue of Robin Hood that is a must see for visitors. Beneath the city is a network of caves that are also present at the castle. Booking a tour of the castle caves provides visitors with much more information about the history and importance Nottingham Castle has played in Britain's history.

Cool castle ramparts encasing a grand mansion steeped in history. Highly recommend booking a cave tour to explore the tunnels within the castle rock. The guides are hugely knowledgeable and give you a fun, educational, story-filled experience.

Nottingham Castle looks impressive and full of history, even from the outside. The grand architecture and its position overlooking the city make it a striking landmark. The grounds and surrounding area are beautifully kept and offer great photo opportunities. A must-see spot that captures the heritage and charm of Nottingham!

The castle is nice but was expecting more of a castle then an art museum. There are few interesting exhibits. The castle looks nice from the outside, the grounds are nicely maintaned offering nice views over Nottingham. The price is a little high for the experience. The Robin Hood experience is nice but is more of a playground for kids with interactive stuff, for adults kind of boring. The cave tour was nice but to pay extra for that, above the entrance price can be pricey for some folks compared to the experiance. The staff is nice and hepful. You buy tickets at the entrance or online waiting in the queue is the same to enter. Next to the castle you'll find a mini square with the statue of Robin Hood. The Forest exhibition is let's say ok but doesn't really impress, a natural woodland walk might be better. One visit is enough honestly, doesn't make any sense to visit the castle again especially if you travel from a bigger distance. The location of the castle is very good, in the city center, car park buildings close by. The souvenir shop and restaurant is nice.

Nottingham Castle is a great mix of history, legend, and modern storytelling. The museum inside offers well-presented exhibits about Robin Hood, local art, and the city’s past. The castle grounds are beautifully maintained with lovely views over Nottingham. While the original medieval castle no longer stands, the experience is still engaging and family-friendly — worth a visit if you’re exploring the city’s heritage.

The staff were all very helpful and friendly entry price is reasonable but..... I was expecting more castle. I am aware that the castle is self was destroyed many many years ago. I enjoy looking at castles in their various states and wonder what they would have been like. The exhibitions were informative and interactive.

A great day out, the caves tour is a must and was an excellent way to start our visit. Then all the exhibits actually inside the castle were really engaging and interactive! I felt like there was loads to do and I learnt loads. Also the view from the top over Nottingham was lovely!

Visiting Wollaton Park was a dream come true for me as a Batman fan. The moment I found out this was the filming location for Wayne Manor in The Dark Knight Rises, I knew I had to see it—and standing there in front of Wollaton Hall honestly left me in awe. The building is absolutely stunning, with its towering windows and intricate stonework. For a moment, it really felt like I was stepping into Bruce Wayne’s world. The park itself is just as beautiful as the Hall. Wide green spaces, autumn leaves scattered across the grass, and peaceful paths made it feel both grand and calm at the same time. I could’ve stayed there for hours just walking around and taking it all in. The staff were also really friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. You can tell they care about the place and its history, and they were happy to chat and answer questions. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. As a Batman nerd, it felt like a pilgrimage to Wayne Manor. But even if you’re not into Batman, Wollaton Park is still an incredible spot to explore—beautiful, relaxing, and full of character.

Great place to visit. The car park is £5, I paid for this in the shop, giving them my number plate. The park is very extensive but it was fantastic to see the deer so close. The house is fascinating with all the natural history displays. This was £15 but the ticket lasts a year. The gardens were also very nice and the view down to the lake was beautiful. The cafe was ok, not the largest selection of food and the drinks were all served in cardboard drinking cups. All the staff everywhere were very friendly and helpful. The shop was nice to look around and standard prices. The toilet facilities were good and clean. There were some near the cafe and in the house. I definitely recommend a visit. On a warm summers day it would be a lovely place to bring a picnic and make a day of it.

Visited the walled gardens specifically. A wonderful, relaxing and fascinating project to restore the site. Lovely volunteers working at the site and amazing progression being made. Only open set times during the summer for tours. A warm welcome. This is a very special place.

This is very good place. This is wollaton hall gardens and dear park location is in Nottingham wollaton Road Nottinghamshire. Here is lake. Here is golf clup as well. Here is kids playing area as well. Here is parking available. But you need to pay for parking. Here is you can see dear as well

The park is about 500 acres. Many children at the playground, families on picnic rugs, deer wandering through acreage. Camellia House & Wollaton Hall are so different. Enjoyed every moment.

Lovely grounds, plenty of deer and a nice walk in fresh air. There are toilets, a café and gift shop.if you need them. You need the Ringgo app to park and pay £6.10 for all day.

What a wonderful place for a walk, the gardens are beautiful and it was lovely to see the deer and the birds, especially the Mandarin duck. We didn't go into the house this time but will definitely look around next time we are there. There's a lovely cafe and 2 shops. Well worth a visit.

I loved the place. So much to see for every age. One issue. We has pulled pork rolls in the butterfly cafe. They looked good but we're swimming in grease. It meant that the rolls were sodden and the meal sat very heavily on the stomach. This spoiled our afternoon.

Our second visit here and it was just like the first time amazing with lots of lovely animals to see, you can easily spend the whole day here, however on this occasion we went nearer the closing time and it was raining and not many of the animals were out but we still had the best time, they have so many lovely birds and the variety of butterfly species each one as gorgeous as the other. The staff right from upon entering and to the end were absolutely amazing and so friendly. Definitely worth more visits, and a day very well spent!! Definitely recommend!!

So much more than a butterfly house. We didn't know what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. There is so much to see. The staff and keepers are very friendly. There are so many animals to see as well as dinosaurs and fun attractions (press the buttons for a few surprises). The otters were very entertaining. You can buy food to feed the various animals. They have a wallaby walk-through and a lemur walk-through a farm yard with friendly goats. A bird house with exotic birds you can see up close and, of course, the butterfly house. There are so many pretty butterflies in a lovely setting. The bird show was very entertaining. The cafes serve a nice mix of hot and cold food at reasonable prices and the toilets are very clean. A great day out for adults and kids alike. Highly recommend.

Went with the wife and kid. The size is good enough to walk round with a kid. We spent about 2 and a half hours looking at some wonderful animals and the butterflies 🦋 were amazing and plenty to see. Also, lotties cafe was really good. The staff were very friendly. Definitely planing go back at some point. Only thing bad is that I didn't get the a code for a second visit discount that was advertised.

Wonderful staff and a very beautiful place with tons of animals that are very well kept. Don’t miss out on experiences with armadillos and meercats. They are definitely worth the money and it is the only place that we visited in that area that were you really could enjoy that kind of experience. The rest of them were from far away and not that nice.

My daughter really wanted to see the Butterflies so we went on a Sunday during the 6 weeks holiday. We had to wait to get in as there was only one woman on the gate and she had to give everyone a ticket for a reduced return visit and had to write on each one. Saying we arrived during the first hour of opening youd think they would have more staff on. The butterfly house was lovely, and there was other animals to see but we was done after 2 and half hours as was many other people who had arrived at the same time as us. I think the price is slightly high for what you get as you can go other wildlife parks and pay around the same and spend the day. We were also disappointed to find out the lemurs were only open for 30 minutes during the whole day so missed seeing them.

Really lovely place, we went on our own as a couple but would definitely bring the grandchildren back. I wanted to go to a butterfly farm and we live in Derby so this was the closest I could see. I wasn’t disappointed with the butterfly greenhouse area and it was an added bonus to have the other animals there too, including the super cute otters, meerkats and lemurs! The leaf cutter ants were astounding!! Cafe service was very slow though and it wasn’t that busy.

Steam train on a regular line. A spectacular day out. It’s a regular line and engine, now maintained by a volunteer organisation. There are both steam and diesel engines. The carriage has a great bar with local beers. The shops at the station have interesting gifts. People are super friendly.

Small,but perfectly formed line,with immaculately preserved stations. Staff very personable,great carriage stock,and excellent value for money,with a great addition of the museum,adding to the all round experience. Fantastic to be on the iconic platform, as featured in the Railway Children,and of course,the quaint smallest station in Britain. My son is a railway enthusiast,and adored it. Highly recommended

Really enjoyable train ride. Good views. Travelled in a carriage that didn't have a bar, however when stopping at Keighley and Oxenhope, there's enough time to get off and grab a drink. Great for kids too. Some carriages are accessible for prams. Would advise getting on earlier, we got off in the evening and it was getting busy

I myself recently re-visited the historically renowned keighley & worth valley railway on saturday 8th of November 2025 (with my P.A. accompanying me), we travelled by train from morley/leeds all the way up to keighley... went up the steps and across back in time once again as we descended onto platforms 3 & 4 for the heritage train bound for oxenhope, Throughout my latest revisit to west yorkshire's branch line heritage railway, We checked out the successfully uniquely restored old water tower/column on platform 4 - which I consider a splendid site to behold - whilst we waited for the oxenhope-bound passenger train, which was hauled by that brilliantly uplifting ex-LMS stanier black five tender locomotive number 44932 that gave us (and the rest of the other passengers) an enjoyable train journeying up the valley of the river behind the KWVR's very name (as well as it's nature), It was great revisiting all the stations along the line, especially Ingrow (west), Damems, Oakworth, Haworth, and of course the outstanding Oxenhope - from where we watched the brilliantly steaming balck five run-round it's train bound for the return journey back down to keighley, I also took plenty of photos, well, quite a lot... along the line, especially safely from carriage window, for whom I do hope the KWVR itself really likes them, as I hear by share some as part of my latest review on west yorkshire's branch line heritage railway. Hope to come back & revisit the KWVR someday.

Booked the Haworth Haddock and had a fabulous time. Steam train from Oxenhope to Keighley, fish & chips, on board bar and the brilliant Night Patrol played on the platform. You can pick your tickets up early which allows you to travel the line during the day. Staff are lovely, they all work hard to make sure you have a good night. Fabulous to see such enthusiasm. Well worth a visit but if you get the chance for one of their themed events definitely book it!

£16 for full line return £23 for all day hop on, hop off Lovely journey with picturesque views. Some journeys are diesel, others steam. Check which ones but some have hot drinks and snacks available on board too.

A lovely day out. Diesel and steam were running. The engine sheds were open and very informative. All the staff working that day were friendly and helpful. We bought a Rover ticket which allowed us to hop off at station's along the line.
