A day of thrilling races at Epsom Racecourse, followed by a peaceful escape into the breathtaking beauty of Langley Vale Wood's 641 acres of diverse trees and plants. A perfect blend of adrenaline and tranquility.

Another great days racing at Epsom Downs, Derby day always a great meeting and some fantastic winners. Tickets purchased well In advance but for some reason not posted out, we had to collect on arrival which is never great when you have a disabled member in the party. We booked the Views restaurant, plenty of space and great service from the waitresses, drinks flowing all day. Food was interesting, sampler menu and then lamb main course, unfortunately the main wasn’t hot, warm at best, afternoon tea was plentiful and the cakes full of flavours.

Having grown up here, it has long held a significant space in my heart. It is honestly such a beautiful and peaceful place outside of race weekends... often with people exercising their horse along the gallops. Perfect spot for a walk, a picnic, or even just having some time to think.

The perfect location to view and savour the setting 🌅sun all year round, whilst enjoying 😊 the panoramic views of the North Downs along with increasing the ‘step tally’ on the iPhone Health App! lol. This is indeed a treasured location and 1️⃣ to be enjoyed, especially 1️⃣0️⃣ to 1️⃣5️⃣ minutes leading up to sunset 🌅

I won 4 free tickets to visit here. We had a lovely time with our 2 year old son and 7 year old niece and enjoyed it, there was plenty for them to do together. The weather was rather hot so we only spent about 3 hours but you could easily spend more time. The children really enjoyed the outside water play area and the imaginarium. We brought a picnic but did order a couple of drinks from the indoor cafe which were reasonably priced and the iced caramel latte was lovely. We would come back here again!

Amazing day out with family and friends. The booking process was simple, and from the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming and helpful. There’s so much to do — from the imaginative indoor play areas to the brilliant outdoor activities and animal enclosures. Everything is well maintained, clean, and safe. Our kids had a great time exploring, playing, and meeting the animals. We’ll definitely be coming back!

I went with my little boy and from start to finish it was a fantastic day out. The whole place is beautifully laid out, with so much attention to detail in every corner — it feels magical. The staff were brilliant — full of energy, enthusiasm, and genuine warmth towards the children. Their excitement was infectious and made the experience even more special. The play areas are incredible, with endless variety to keep little ones entertained for hours, and the animals were an absolute delight. There are plenty of lovely picnic spots to relax and so many perfect photo opportunities to capture the memories. Highly recommend for families looking for a fun, engaging, and beautifully designed day out. We can’t wait to go back!

A great adventure park and animals to see, we went on a particularly hot day and due to animal welfare, there was only a static bird of prey talk. This was expected but reasonable, and still fascinating to hear. The imaginarium was a hit, great seating areas for picnic, good facilities and parking. Staff were friendly, play grounds were fun and varied, great free activities such as archery. Great experience.

We visited Hobbledown Epsom on the Saturday, it was a very hot day. Yes, there are few places which been closed some due to weather condition and some had maintanance work, but it still so much to do for little people and enjoy their day.We seen some of the animals like alpake,donkey,capibara and cames. We had amazing day out and probably will re-visit place in a some point. Very nice place.

Thoroughly enjoyed talking the self guided tour. The glass floor gives a unique view of the Thames, but can be slightly unnerving. The engine room has the two steam engines, used to power the bascules, on display. Over all, it's very good venue for money.

One of the most important attractions in this wonderful city! Especially, if you visit it at night is way more beautiful! This bridge brings its own unique touch of beauty in London! You have to visit it with no hesitation! 🌉✨

Tower Bridge is one of the most iconic landmarks in London and visiting it was a fantastic experience. The views from the bridge are stunning, both of the Thames and the city. Taking the Tower Bridge Exhibition tour made the visit even better, as it gave detailed insights into how the bridge was built and the fascinating mechanism behind its operation. Walking across the glass floor was a unique highlight too, giving a completely different perspective of the bridge and the river below. The site is very well maintained and the staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing to keep in mind is that you may need to wait in a queue for entry, and on a sunny day this can feel a bit frustrating. Still, it’s not just a landmark to admire from outside, but also an educational and memorable experience to explore from within. Definitely worth visiting.

Walking near Tower Bridge is honestly one of the nicest things to do in London, especially if you’re trying to escape the busy streets without leaving the city. The view is unreal – you’ve got the bridge itself, which looks straight out of a postcard, the river Thames calmly flowing, and plenty of spots to just sit and chill. There’s something peaceful about hearing the water and watching the boats go by, even when there are tourists around. At sunset, the whole area lights up in warm colours and it feels kinda magical. It’s also surprisingly clean and safe, even in the evening. Loads of nice little cafes and street food stalls around if you fancy a bite, and the walk towards the south bank or down to St Katharine Docks is worth it too. You get a mix of old-school charm and modern city vibes. Would definitely recommend it for a date, a solo unwind walk, or just to take some beautiful photos. 10/10 – calming, scenic, and very London.

The Tower Bridge is a great stop if you're in the nearby area, and provides about 30min to 1 hour diversion. Combined with the free audio tour, great views complete with partial glass floor in one section, historic awe of the building process, and gift shop at the end - I would highly recommend if you're in the area. There are lifts for the tower, but I suggest/recommend you take the stairs getting some insight, facts and touch of history on the way up and down. There are benches to rest, toilets but no Air Con for most of it, however fans throughout provide plenty of relief - 84 degrees and it never felt sweltering inside. Learn how the bridge was designed, constructed and changes over the years - in particular the engine room videos and presentation on divers were really great. And whenever you're done walk along the Thames River path near the wharf and grab a bite to eat.

Good view from the top from a perspective you won't see otherwise. Short video of old footage of London was good. Information boards everywhere to enlighten visitors. On the London Pass so that makes it better value.

Wonderful experience. We travelled to Waterloo by train and hopped on boat to London Bridge for the Tower which was easy and entertaining. The Tower was fascinating, such history. The poppy installation was fantastic. A really good day.....but you need comfy walking shoes!

Great day out. Went on a weekend and not too busy outside of peak season. Crown Jewels clearly the highlight, and didn’t disappoint - displays nicely spaced out, not too much content to overload younger ones and up to date, but there’s also so much more to see. Poppy display was superb, exotic animals, Yeoman tour and White Tower also worth the time, with the latter having interactive area for children. Nice day out and good to take a picnic (though not lots of spaces to sit and eat).

Enjoyed all the history The Ravens were alot bigger than I imagined. The crown Jewels were amazing and loads of gold pieces of various objects the punch bowl was massive. All the beefeaters were friendly and helpful.

Absolutely a wonderful time. As a tourist from the US, I cannot believe the amount of history in one place. You could spend an entire vacation at this site alone. Seeing highlights from the coronation amd seeing them in real life was fantastic. The displays in the White Tower were worth it alone

I’ve been wanting to take the kids on The London Eye for a while but I’m glad I waited until they were older otherwise I think they would have got bored after a while! We came during the summer holidays so the weather was nice and the views were beautiful. I pre booked for the best ticket prices and to take advantage of the £20 per adult and £18 per child special offers. We enjoyed it and the kids were able to spot famous buildings which was fun 😁 The only let down was that there were alot of us in our cabin as we were grouped up with a large family with limited seating so after a while of standing i had to sit on the poles due to issues with my knee and the kids sat on the floor. It was a busy day and I think the staff filled the cubicle to capacity This is something to bear in mind for those that may have ailments or disabilities where they need to sit down. Other than that it is worth the visit, we didn’t wait long in the queue and they also take pictures and give you a card with a QR code which can be scanned so you can purchase the pictures after your ride which is nice 😊

The London Eye is an interesting experience that I was glad that I went on, but I am not sure if I would recommend. It offers great views of the city but I understand that The Shard and Sky Garden also can do this. Heck, the coffee shop at Tate Modern also has great views and it is free to go up. We had booked a time and were waiting for our slot, when we arrived 15 minutes early to join an extremely long queue. I was very surprised how quickly the line went and we actually boarded the ride at our allocated time. I suspect if we arrived early (within reason), we could have got on sooner rather than waiting around. Getting on and off was easy, even though the ride didn't stop. The entire trip lasted about 30 minutes and was very relaxing. Obviously the views were great, but I `think that I would have spent less time if I had gone up the Shard or Sky Garden, as the ride seemed to trudge along. The are definitely opportunities to get discounted tickets: book online or in the visitor centre or with the London Pass. Since the line went quick, I wouldn't pay extra for a fast path.

Absolutely love London. And Big Ben is a must see / visit. It has been beautifully restored and looks grand as it should. Right next to the houses of Parliament and across from Westminster Abbey just down the road from Buckingham Palace. And then there is number 10. Definitely make time to go to this iconic land Mark.

I’m not the biggest fan of London, but Big Ben was absolutely beautiful. The architecture is stunning, and the city around it feels so classic and elegant. It was really cool getting off the Westminster stop on the Tube and walking straight up to see Big Ben towering above it’s such an iconic sight. Even if London isn’t your favorite city, this landmark will definitely impress you.

We didn't get to do the tour but coming off the tube and Big Ben being right there outside the station was pretty awesome. Its even bigger in person than I thought it would be. Really good angles from the station and out on the bridge.

My Visit to Westminster and Westminster Abbey, London My visit to Westminster and Westminster Abbey was one of the most memorable parts of my London trip. Breathtaking Abbey! So many beautiful monuments. The architecture is marvelous. So much to look at you could definitely spend the whole day. Friendly,helpful and knowledgeable staff. It is a working church so depending on when you go you might see a daily prayer or two. Gentlemen remember is respectful to remove your hat. It's a must see!

(visited on 12 May 2025) this is That One Church England uses for all a lot of the royal events we see as tourists on the television, so naturally with our luck we missed the royal victory ceremony on the 8th and then got ceremoniously chased out on the day we visited for a diplomatic event. between that and missing the changing of the guard on the same day we should’ve bought a lottery ticket to the West End. anyway. what we gleaned of the short time we had there was the massive size of the church. large church with loads of tombs, monuments and graves for notable figures in English and European history including Queen Elizabeth I and Mary Queen of Scots were all laid there. Monuments to Darwin, Shakespeare and the Bronte Sisters were also scattered on the floor and in the Poets’ Corner. the free audio guides offered were super helpful with offering context for a lot of the abbey’s sprawling tombs and areas. we sped run this with the audio guide because 😀 diplomatic event, but still had time to appreciate the architecture and grandeur, especially of the nave and coronation area. stained glass was gorgeous too. note that you’re not supposed to take videos in here. staff were still nice when we asked them about why we were being so nicely shoved out of the church we paid full price for, but WE FELT THAT COULDVE BEEN SAID EARLIER? as previously clarified this took place in May so—might’ve been a one off thing. lastly. the gift store is HIGHLY entertaining do visit

Beautiful building with a lot to see inside especially for history enthusiasts. I would recommend booking in advance which will give you a time slot for entry. We still had to wait despite having the designated time so be prepared (we waited about 45 mins). It's worth it though to see everything. I also found the audio guide helpful for filling in context on everything. The optional upper floors are worth it too as they have great views looking down as well as some fascinating antiques.

No visit to London is complete without seeing Westminster Abbey. This magnificent Anglican church has hosted every British coronation for nearly 1,000 years and serves as the resting place of monarchs, writers, scientists, and national heroes. It’s also been the setting for many royal weddings and state funerals. A true World Heritage Site! Book tickets in advance and allow plenty of time to take it all in. Highly recommended!!

I visited Westminster Abbey for the first time at age 50, coinciding with the 44th Independence Service for Antigua and Barbuda. Despite a cold, rainy English day, stepping inside was incredible. The detail throughout the Abbey is breathtaking, and it was impeccably clean. The staff—ushers and clergy—were professional, respectful, and welcoming, always guiding visitors with a smile. One of the clergy even cracked a few jokes, showing their sense of humour and humanity. Westminster Abbey is a beautiful, top-notch cathedral in London. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

The Abbey is an amazing place to visit, however the ticket is expensive for a live church. We booked a tour guide with church verger for a tenner which was a great tour and Kat provided lots of interesting info about the abbey. We also visited the Queen’s diamond gallery, accessible through Weston Tower. O stall we had a great time.

At first I was worried I wouldn’t be able to follow the system or get myself lost. Which I did, end up going the wrong way. But it’s actually so easy to follow, it’s good to make a few errors as then you will be conscious of ensuring you’re on the right tube. London Underground is amazing and it is really easy to get around and see places. I would walk around central London. Use the underground when going further afield. The trains are very regular, you will find they can get very busy, packed. Don’t feel you need to squeeze in, just wait for the next train as it will add to your experience and enjoy it better. As you would anywhere just be vigilant of your surroundings. I felt very safe, as a solo traveler I was very surprised.

As a visitor, you can’t ask for a better system to get about to major museums, etc. You get to ride with both the working class and executives alike. Iconic London ! Takes a little getting used to, if you need to travel in the City, it’s the way to go. As a visitor, we purchased a Visitor Oyster Card online, it’s a fantastic deal. Recommended.

This is a good way to get around London. The new trains and updated stations are good. It is easy to get a ticket and to get around. However, the ventilation is poor, horrible, hot, and sweaty. It makes for an unbearable and uncomfortable ride. However, some of the trains and train stations have proper ventilation and air but most do not. I only take one train with no transfers, which is all that I can bear, and walk just to be outside where I can breath easy. I caution you to only ride when necessary and recommend you walk outside if able.

These shops are all closed for good. I could rattle on about the good old days, (people actually pay to hear about it) and a book would be better; it would take a book, pdf, file, whatever to explain how much it has changed. Point? Many but the main one is: Thanks to Bid Rigging the same people keep getting rich fulfilling contracts that do nothing but cosmetic change. I'd rather see the old retailers (driven out by sky high rent, business taxes, business rates that the the big corporate retailers. Btw/ if you come to London be prepared to lug your suitcase up and down many flights of stairs. Of course the bureaucracy will point to "no step access" (only lawsuits by disabled brought that in) and there are more lifts (elevators), yes this is better than nothing - - lucky find one lift 20 years ago. The old, dirty, extremely noisy rolling stock in Central London is the same. Recently you could still find "MetroCamell" 1973. John Lennon probably on one. Sure, they Spent £16 Billion over budget and late) on a new Elizabeth Line. It's a nice reflection on what we have - - tourists are in central London for the sights, not off to Abby Wood (the other one) and to have them riding the clittering, clanking, clattering collection of caligenous junk - - (think Wizard of Oz to the Tin Man) is a disgrace.

Coming from Manchester we need this in the city.... Yes its a bit dim, dark and dirty.... But what a brilliant, cheap and quick way to get around....

Crowded, stuffy place, too many people in London, but its easy to use, it gets you to your destination on time

Could very well be the most impressive museum I've visited. Each of the exhibits is extremely well done, with exactly the right amount of information to read in a timely manner and continue moving on to the next. It's a small space, so if it is a crowded day, and you want to see everything, expect to spend 4-5 hours. The time went by so fast because everything is so engrossing, we didn't even realize we had been there for so long! The interactive exhibits are fascinating and seeing things left just as they were when the war was over and the Rooms closed was surreal. There's definitely a presence to be felt there, especially as you listen to the stories of those who lived through it via the many videos. For any history buff, this is an experience you must do whilst in London. Thoroughly, utterly impressed.

We visited this museum with my family. The Churchill War Rooms are a must-visit for anyone interested in World War II history or British heritage. What impressed me most was how well the museum recreates the atmosphere of wartime London — the narrow corridors, the low ceilings, and especially the lack of natural light give you a real sense of what it must have felt like to live and work underground during such a critical time in history. The attention to detail is outstanding. From the original rooms left exactly as they were, to the immersive exhibits and soundscapes, it truly feels like stepping back in time. You can almost sense the tension and urgency that filled the space during the war. The museum is incredibly well-curated, with lots of information about Churchill’s life, leadership, and the people who worked behind the scenes to help lead Britain through the war. It’s informative, powerful, and deeply respectful of the history it preserves. Highly recommended for history lovers and anyone wanting a deeper understanding of WWII. One of the most memorable museum experiences I’ve had in London! If you are an IWM member, note that they will request photo ID, which is not made clear on the website — this can catch people off guard. The route through the War Rooms is straightforward and well-paced. Had a great time visiting the Museum, there’s plenty to see and plenty to learn about, I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about Winston Churchill in particular I enjoyed the story of him escaping prison in South Africa. Myself and Mrs enjoyed a nice it drink in the cafe which was priced fairly and was a warm environment. Only downside to the visit was the amount of people in certain parts of the museum there’s hallways and we had to walk at a snails pace to get through haha. But no fault to the museum itself, I’d advise going at less busy times, we came on Remembrance Sunday at 14:30.

I visited this place on my recent trip to London from NYC. This is obviously a very well-put together exhibit. You gotta admire the British attention to detail there. The audio guide (in the form of a tablet that you take with you on the tour) was helpful, and you get to explore at your own pace. There's a dedicated Churchill museum at this place. The gift shop has a good selection of books. The tour was a bit crowded for my taste (reason for the one less star) since the place is generally very popular but definitely worth a visit if you like British history during WWII (or if you like Churchill!)

St. James’s Park is absolutely beautiful! The views of Buckingham Palace and the lake are stunning. It’s such a peaceful place to walk, relax, and take pictures. We saw lots of ducks, swans, and even some friendly squirrels. There are plenty of benches and a little café for coffee or snacks. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature right in the heart of London.

Beautiful grounds to explore, plenty of places to grab a hot drink and food. So many birds and wildlife to see. Always a pleasure to visit here. One of my favourite places in London.

Lovely walks around the lake, and the gardens were full of autumn colour. It gets very busy though, especially at weekends, with all the tourists. There's toilets near the entrance from Horseguards parade and a couple of coffee stands. The squirrels seem quite tame and will come up close asking for food!

The Blue Bridge spanning St. James’s Park Lake, offers a stunning partial backdrop of The London Eye, Whitehall and the City’s Towers. On a clear blue sky Sunday afternoon in October, the lake was stunningly blue with a near perfect reflection 💯in places.

Serene and beautiful park with so many different birds and even squirrels. A really nice place to chill and have your lunch, but beware, the animals there arent very scared of humans! The ducks may come and ask for a bite.

A masterclass in urban tranquility, St Jame's Park is nestled between iconic landmarks, and it offers a lush, immersive landscape that feels worlds away from the city’s bustle. I adored the lake, with its elegant pelicans and swans, and mirrored reflections. If time permitted, I could sit and watch them the whole day! Another lovely sight was the distant silhouette of the London Eye amidst the lush greenery. The park’s layout invited slow wandering: deck chairs scattered across sunlit lawns, winding paths shaded by trees and quiet corners where wildflowers bloom. The park is simply a place where nature, history and city life converge with grace.

The prettiest park in London! 🌿 St. James’s Park is full of life — so much green, beautiful flowers, and so many animals to see. Whether you visit early in the morning or at sunset, it’s the perfect place to relax and unwind. Absolutely love it! 💚

Visiting The National Gallery was truly a magical experience. From the moment I entered, I was captivated by the atmosphere and every room tells a different story through its paintings. The layout makes it easy to explore, and the colors, details, and emotions in each artwork are breathtaking. It’s not just a museum but it’s a journey through art and history that leaves you inspired and full of wonder.

It was a wonderful experience. The museum has a good collection of Monet and Van Gogh paintings, which I really enjoyed. For just an afternoon, it’s possible to see everything without getting too tired, though you could easily spend a whole day if you want to study the works in detail. We visited on November 17, and there was also a Christmas market outside the museum, which added a very festive atmosphere.

A very spacious series of galleries housing some of the best known images in the international art world. With a restaurant and toilets and plenty of friendly guides you can easily spend a day here, or just pop in and revisit your favourites. It may look daunting from the outside but the new entrance makes the whole place accessible for anyone. Children of any age will find something to look at and many school trips visit and no they don't disturb the 'grown ups'! A teashop, restaurant, bookshop and well stocked shop make this a day, or two to remember.

I can say that I love this museum. Seeing such a collection of paintings for free is just amazing nowadays. There are beautiful paintings in every room. I could spend a day to visit it. Just do not forged taking a map at the entrance as this is a pretty large museum. French, Spanish, Italian, English, Deutsche… painters from middle age to impressionists. A pretty large collection of Impressionists paintings that can rival with that of Musée d’Orsay in France. Only the Louvre in France is more impressive (but far from being free) among all painting museums that I visited all other the world (with a special notice for Grenoble and Poitier’s painting museum that are great place to visit too).

The National Gallery, a one place to see history through paintings. As usual this gallery is free for entery and quite big so plan ahead. You can book free online ticket or walkin. Tube connectivity is there. Plan to enjoy and take photos from outside squar also. There is a paid washroom available outside. You get chance to see a lot of historical paintings and know about the artist. Due to limited time I was not able to complete it. Wear comfortable shoes and carry water if possible.

I visited the National Gallery today and absolutely loved it. It’s an absolute must visit place when in London, and you can spend hours wandering from room to room, never running out of things to look at. One of the highlights for me was seeing some of Monet’s pieces in person, a moment I’ve been looking forward to for so long. Standing in front of his work felt surreal, and it was worth the entire trip on its own. I highly recommend paying the galley a visit, especially because it’s free entry!

If you’re in London, you must visit this place. I stopped by during an 8 hour layover, and even though I couldn’t take my time the way I wanted to, it was absolutely worth it. The collection is stunning, wall after wall of masterpieces you could spend hours admiring. I barely scratched the surface and already felt amazed. I’ll definitely be coming back on a proper trip so I can truly enjoy and appreciate everything this museum has to offer.

What a place to visit. The world meets in London and I hope it continues that way. Everything is well organized, spaced and placed. It’s my second time in there and am keen to go back more times. Went on a Thursday in half term time, it was incredibly busy, loads of children! It was still a nice experience for my kids, they loved it. You need a couple of days to visit the whole museum, especially if you are looking to study anything in particular. Limited choices on thw food in the food court area and expect London prices but there is also a high end restaurant at the top. Own food and drinks are permitted only in the designated area. We will definitely come again to see and study other areas.

A Must-see Museum! You can literally feel the history of the world here. It’s free to visit; however, when you think about all the pieces taken away from their motherlands, it does feel a bit bittersweet. :) Make sure to book your tickets in advance — it gets busy! The ambiance will truly astonish you the moment you step inside.

I recently visited the V&A with a friend to see the Cartier Exhibition. It was great, even though it was a bit crowded, which meant no hanging about. However, there were opportunities to return to an exhibit if you wished. I visited on a lovely autumn afternoon and the colourful trees outside added to my enjoyment. There's also a beautiful cafe for a wide selection of food and drinks. It's one of my favourite museums to visit as they put on great exhibitions on a wide variety of subjects. If you’re anywhere near South Kensington, the Victoria & Albert Museum is one of those places you absolutely must pop into. As someone who’s lived in England for years, I can honestly say the V&A never gets old. What surprised me the most on my recent visit was just how incredible the ceramics collection is. If you’re even slightly into pottery, porcelain, glazes, or anything to do with craft and kiln work, you’ll be blown away. There are shelves and walls filled—and I mean filled—with pieces from all over the world, from tiny delicate bowls to massive vases taller than a child. You could easily spend half a day in the ceramics section alone. And it’s not just ceramics. The museum has an impressive range of sculptures as well—scrubbs, marble carvings, classical statues, and pieces that make you wonder how on earth someone carved something so smooth out of stone. You walk through a hall and suddenly you’re surrounded by history in 360 degrees. The jewellery gallery is another highlight. It’s not just “oh that’s pretty”—it’s genuinely fascinating. Crowns, brooches, rings, intricate metalwork… some pieces are hundreds of years old, shining under the lights like they were made yesterday. One thing I really love about the V&A is how hands-on it feels. They’ve got sections where you can take a closer look at materials, textures, and even a few areas where touching certain samples is allowed. A Truly Remarkable Day! I simply can't recommend the membership strongly enough! My visit to the Marie Antoinette exhibition today was truly remarkable. Not only was the collection breathtaking, but the staff were incredibly kind and attentive throughout the day. My daughter and I wore period-style Marie Antoinette costumes, and it was lovely to feel welcomed and celebrated. Every single person we encountered was charming and pleasant. What a fantastic museum experience!

Free to enter for their main exhibits, except for special exhibitions. But there's plenty to see and explore in the different courts, organised by theme, geographical area and time period. Wheelchair accessible Look out for the giant statue of David in the Cast Courts, as well as the rather large pillar of Trajan. Also, the collection of sculptures donated by Auguste Rodin. If you like Jewellery, head up to 2F.

You can book a time slot ticket for free online before hand. This ensures you dont have to queue if it gets too busy. Truly a must visit Museum in London. There are so many different exhibitions that you can easily spend 3 hours here. Of course the main attraction is the Blue whale skeleton, called hope. It weighs 4.5tonnes and measures 25.2m long. This is a real blue whale skeleton and not a model! Can you imagine! There is a dinosaur exhibition and for your info, most of the bones on display are actual dinosaur bones! If you see its dated, then its real dinosaur bones. Other than that there are other paid exhibitions available throughout the museum.

The museum is well-maintained and full of interesting collections. Natural History Museum in London and was truly impressed. The building itself is stunning with its grand architecture and detailed interior. The dinosaur and gemstone exhibits were fascinating and well-organized. I especially enjoyed the interactive sections that make learning fun for both kids and adults. Spending few hours here may not enough. I recommend booking paid tickets for elderly visitors.

Always love going to museums where ever I go to take in the local perspective. It is free entry with donation recommended, which is easy once you see what this place has to offer. This would have been one of the larger sites I have visited in my travels. It has a large variety of collections spanning several floors. I really enjoyed most of the galleries I saw, with their interactive displays that complement the static representations. We literally spent all afternoon their until close and still didn't get a chance to see the whole building. Missing out on the Darwin, and some of the green sector. From what we did see the rest of the place would be just as amazing. Since it's free entry it can definitely be a 2 day walk about. The place is large and requires a bit of sauntering. There are lots of benches and presentations that you can sit while you watch. Which is nice for those who have mobility challenges. Overall, a great visit but if you really like to hit every inch, it's a whole day visit so keep that in mind.

Well kept clean and spacious. Wheel chair acess though out and entering with no steps . Its extremely hot inside even in November. Could do with air conditioning. Lots of history with lots of animals. Great for kids all ages and adults. Toilets and disabled toilets on site with a cafe which is rather expensive so I would recommend brining yours own lunch in if you are a family. 2 coffees and a cookie was approximately £15 . Over all a great experience and very educational. If you home educate your children its worth a day trip in to London to visit the museum. Today, I took a group of elderly visitors with dementia to the London History Museum. Our group varied in mobility — some were able to walk independently, one used a walker, and two were in wheelchairs. We had a brilliant time exploring the different rooms, and the earthquake experience was truly amazing and impactful for everyone. The museum was quite busy with several school groups, which did raise some concerns. One of my members was bumped into twice by a school group, causing them to become unsteady on their feet. While the school group was apologetic, the situation was a little disappointing. The only drawbacks were that the toilets are quite spread out across the museum, and the lifts were sometimes difficult to use due to limited capacity and unclear floor labels. Despite this, we managed to navigate successfully. It was nice to see seating areas scattered around the rooms, providing opportunities for rest. Booking disability parking was straightforward and very helpful, with friendly staff assisting us both on arrival and when we left. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I’d love to return with my family next time for a more flexible visit

For a free entry this museum was absolutely incredible. A very wide variety of exhibits from a multitude of scientific fields. Definitely take your time and explore the entire building. Enjoyed looking at all the different animal exhibits. The dinosaur section of the museum was very fascinating to go through 🦖. I also enjoyed the geological sections. It really does seem that the museum is promoting education at no price! 👨‍🔬 A must visit if you're in the area.

Had a good time with family, spent around 2hrs at the venue.kudos to the entire team for excellent crowd control. Around 80% of the wax statue look stunning and fantastic, rest felt like a dummy one. The special attraction was "Spirit of London" ride, which is a themed taxi ride through the city's history, and not a conventional train ride. The ride uses iconic black cabs to take visitors on a 5-minute journey through London's history and cultural events which also includes wax figures, immersive exhibits, and a 4D cinema.

The organisation and presentation were excellent, and the cable ride through centuries of history was absolutely epic! I didn’t see many staff around, but I didn’t really need any help. I had an amazing experience at the Madame Tuassads London. I have already been to other places but this one was different. In addition to various wax statues there was a ride which was very beautiful. Also there was 3D show which was star of the whole lot. Would highly recommend even if you have visited other wax museums. Its clean and wait time is not much.

Madame Tussauds was such a fun experience! The wax figures look unbelievably real ,it’s like walking through a celebrity world. The Marvel and Royal Family sections were my favourites. It does get busy, but totally worth it for the photos and the atmosphere.

I was a bit hesitant about going here, if it's really worth the money... And it is! We enjoyed this interactive experience very much! It's fun and I very much appreciated it is not just the wax figures (which are impressive by themselves), but I was excited about the Marvel 3D experience, the little "taxi" drive through the history of London or the scary horror cellar :) What was dissapointing was the price of the photos they take for you (25 pounds?!). But otherwise perfect way to spend a memorable afternoon (at least 3 hours recommended!), totally recommended. PS: pleasant surprise at the end of our visit was the London Eye tickets for 10£ offer.

I’ve just been on the Royal Gunpowder Mills walking tour. What a great experience. The history at Waltham Abbey is fascinating, and was brought to life by the knowledgeable volunteers/guides. We were a small group of 8, so plenty of opportunities to ask as many questions as we liked. The tour allowed access to many of the buildings and structures that you only see from afar on the tractor tour. For anyone with an interest in military history, explosives, or industrial architecture l’d highly recommend this tour. Many thanks to the guides for giving us their time.

Fantastic day at the Gunpowder Mills. Greeted before entry by welcoming volunteers. The site is huge with attractions and information. We made a rocket and launched it which was fun. The tractor was great with a very informative guide. The volunteer who gave us the talk in the rocket vault was exceptionally good. We went on the miniature train and the bigger train where we saw more of the site. There is so much to see and do here. Our visit was four hours and worth every penny of the entrance fee. Looking forward to booking a walking tour when they are organised.

I had been recommended the Royal Gunpowder Mills by a friend, and with the kids now a slightly bit older we decided it would be worth a try. It's only open to visitors a couple of times a month on a Sunday, and on our visit from 11am to 4pm. We got there at 11am as it opened, there is a big sign as you come off the main road, but the site is located at the end of the drive once you have driven past all the housing. Car park is a fair size, and the entrance is located to the right once you have got into the car park. Once you have gone in, it's probably worth getting yourself booked on to the tractor ride. It leaves at specific times. We went straight towards the miniature railway which took us up the site to the gunpowder mill railway. Again, there are some set timings for this, but when we got there we pretty much had the train to ourselves. The railway takes passengers for a ride further up the site, stops and then comes back again. We managed to see the deer as well as bits of the site. The guys running the railway did a fab job at showing us all about the railway, and even let the young 'uns sit in the main cab. The tractor ride was incredibly informative and really gave a good idea of how big the place truly is (massive!) and how much history is here (loads!) Again you get to see the deer, and lots of the old buildings - lots of areas are covered in greenery where nature has taken over. The kids were also given a sheet of things to look out for on the journey. At lunch we popped back to the car to get our picnic and sat at the benches next to the play area (obstacle course / zip line). There is an area where you can get a free tea / coffee - as well as toilets if required. Post lunch, we went to create some rockets and had a little competition to see who's rocket could go the furthest - kids enjoyed this! (Well, the adults did too!) After the rockets, we went to look around the exhibition and armoury. Lots to read here, and kids did do a few little interactive games (mixing the substances at the factory etc.) but they weren't quite so keen to stand and read! The armoury was literally a room full of different guns, rifles etc. When we came out of the exhibition, we just had time to have another trip on the railway. The volunteers were great and radio'd up to ensure we would catch it on time! Once our second trip on the railway was finished it was closing time... we had been there all day! We thought the dedication and hard work by the volunteers was great - we even thought about volunteering ourselves, but it's a bit of a journey away! (Although if they ever do a family volunteering day where the kids can get involved, we would certainly consider it!!)

If you want to learn about the history of gunpowder and explosives, The Royal Gunpowder Mills provides a fascinating day out. In many respects, this is the place where it all started. Our tractor guide was quite knowledgeable and provided interesting insight. The Mills is run completely by volunteers. As the MOD has been involved in siphoning off material, it's too bad the MOD doesn't promote it as the volunteers care dearly and they can use some help.

I visited with my two children and another family, on an open day during the summer holidays. There were varied activities for the kids (rocket making/launching, tie dying, slime making and nature crafts) as well as the train that runs further up along the grounds. It was a really nice day out without the extensive crowds that you often find with children’s activities in the holidays! When booking the tickets I noticed that numbers were capped quite low so I can’t imagine it would ever be uncomfortably busy. Having a mixture of fun activities for children alongside the educational side of the small museum and exhibitions was a good balance. They particularly enjoyed role playing in the village shop with ration books! I would say the open day activities etc are probably most suited for children under 10 (which all of ours were). We also saw some beautiful deer and the children enjoyed the playground as well. Everything was staffed by volunteers (I think) giving up their time to run it. Drinks and snacks in the cafe were very well priced - i bought ice lollies for 5 children for barely more than the price you’d pay for one at an ice cream van!! We brought a packed lunch with us as suggested on the website - I don’t think there is much in the way of food other than snacks available in the cafe. All in all a nice day out, something a bit different and easy to drive to and park.

I took the walking tour today. Absolutely brilliant experience! We started in the cafe with a tea/coffee before heading out in a small group with the volunteers. They really knew so much about the site and were so passionate about its history that it was a real pleasure to listen to. Look out for the wildlife too- we saw lots of deer around!

Jordan was great. Parking easy. Open gendered changing rooms with showers. Also had a mirror and hairdryer which was nice. Lockers were easy to use. Had a group of 9 for the whole raft, unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you see it, one person at the helm doesn’t paddle. This position can rotate between within your group, which might be a good thing, so you can take a break because this was a tiring activity for sure. Great fun though!

This sports venue is truly delightful. It’s such a pleasure to watch the determination of those battling the powerful water and waves, whether in team boats or individual kayaks. I genuinely enjoy the atmosphere here, and I try to visit once or twice a week. The café adds to the charm—coffee on cold days and beer on warm ones. Altogether, it’s an outstanding place with an incredible vibe

Fantastic facility, make time for coffee or food on the terrace because it's lovely. As described on the website, great fun white water rafting. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a thrill!

Fantastic place to practice your open water and white water rafting skills there is an equipment hire area on site so you dont need to bring your own gear, ample parking the largest car park is just 100 yards from the entrance. Staff are super friendly, there is a cafe on site too with inside or outside (on balcony) seating. The road leading to the place is only a normal 30 mph road and it gets busy quickly so try and give yourself plenty of time to get there.

I went white water rafting with 7 mates for a birthday. An excellent experience, we loved it. Ask for Sean as your instructor he made it a 5/5 experience. We did 6 runs on the Olympic course and Sean upped the ante each time. Would highly recommend it!

Lee Valley White Water Centre delivered a brilliant day out. The staff were welcoming and made the whole experience feel easy, even for first-timers. The course has the perfect mix of fun and challenge, and everything is run smoothly from start to finish. I’d happily come back and recommend it to anyone looking for something memorable.

Meerkat experience was good £50 for two people you get to prepare the food for the four meerkats and the large tortoise . Yes get around 10 minutes feeding them . At the end you get a small gift from the shop. There are other animals to see and the entrance is free , there are toilets and a cafe . There is only a small car park on site . Good children’s playground.

This is a great place to take the children. Plenty of farm animals in uncrowded spaces. A decent size playground for the younger children. Accessible toilets and a somewhat overpriced cafe. Loads of open spaces for the children. The design of the park is to accommodate families. There are even picnic tables, and a sensory area. A car park is located nearby costing £1.50 for 5 hours, with the first being free.

Mare can be done to improve the life of the animals in this place with better & bigger cages. It would be nice to have few washrooms for the kids and aged people, perhaps convenient store for water and snacks. The entrance is free but we were not able to see everything as lots of gates were closed. Would love to see this place again with more improvement for tourists and the visitors of the place. Few limited car parking available at the site against a fee. Good place for nature & animals lovers

The road to the zoo is a bit narrow and winding, and driving with the steering wheel on the opposite side made it even more unusual. This is a truly small family-oriented zoo with an interesting selection of animals. Everything was clean and well maintained, and we enjoyed the visit. I was especially excited to see capybaras and meerkats. Personally, it was also fascinating to observe the visitors — many families with two or more children. The food was decent, but because of the strong wind and too many wasps outside, the experience was mixed. Overall, it’s a great place to spend a day with family.

Visited for my daughter’s birthday and it was great all round. The entire place is very well designed and in good condition. We tried food at a few of the outlets and all were good quality tasting food - not amazing but not the typical greasy nonsense you get. It’s good that you can walk around each area multiple times and in different directions so you really feel like you get the most out of your ticket. Price wise was good, about average and like I said there is plenty to do when inside. All the animals we saw looked happy, no concerns there.

A brilliant zoo, I would say one of the best we have visited. It was busy but we didn't feel it, its nicely spread out so you never feel crowded, it was also very clean and tidy. The staff were fantastic, even when doing something they were happy to answer questions on animals, they were all happy, friendly and genuinely seemed to enjoy being there. The animals all seemed happy and healthy with a lovely variety. As with all zoos it would be nice to see them with more space. The food was of excellent quality and reasonably priced. Nice to have the mix of animals, the dino trail and parks too. It is 3.5hours away from us but worth every minute in the car. Would 100% recommend

Great zoo, loved the red panda experience, keeper was very friendly and informative in answering any questions I had. Loved getting to see the two red pandas being introduced to each other. Got good views of the animals, some of the viewing windows were quite wet with condensation which blocked views but not much to be done about that. Lots of kids so was quite noisy but think I came in the school holidays. Only negative was one of the jaguars was pacing around a lot in its enclosure, hopefully it was just waiting for food or something like that and not stressed. Got Uber easily to/from the train station. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

A really good day out. I went with my sister and my two teenagers and we all thoroughly enjoyed our day. The theming, informative signs, viewing areas/platforms and eateries were very good. Of course the wonderful animals were the highlight and I can recommend attending the bird show! At the end of the day we even had a train ride around the dinosaur area for £2 each, which ended the day nicely.

A family favourite. My son was two when we went and he loved the dinosaurs section even though I was worried he was too young, there are some bits that are slightly gruesomely but you can quickly go past them. It’s good fun and you can then go to the zoo and look at the animals. It’s very well organised and clean. Limited option for food and as with any of these venues, it’s overpriced for the quality you get.

Hertfordshire Zoo is a fantastic family-friendly destination with a great variety of animals and interactive zones. The enclosures are well maintained , highlights include the lions, camels, and alpacas, all easy to view up close. The “World of Animals” and “Tumble Jungle” soft play area add extra fun for kids, with clearly scheduled play sessions. The zoo is clean, well signposted, and offers a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. A perfect day out for families with young children!

If you are interested in aircraft, a visit to this museum is a must. Great exhibits, well displayed, friendly and helpful volunteers on hand to give you information. Three complete Mosquitoes on display, including the prototype. Plus many other types of aircraft, some of which you can enter. This is where the Mosquito was designed, and the prototype aircraft was built. A great museum!

Absolutely superb day out for myself and a few chums, as it’s centrally located to meet up. Wonderfully atmosphere here, with such knowledgeable staff, who have enthusiasm which is infectious. There’s so much here, I’ve visited a few times, and seen more on each visit. Excellent little cafe too, for a halftime snack. We were given a guided tour, which was excellent value, very comprehensive and enjoyable.

A fabulous museum and so well worth a visit. The friendliest, approachable and knowledgeable volunteers make all the difference. Quite different to the vast RAF museum down the road. The exhibits are cared for and the restoration work carried out is brilliant. The aircraft on display are superb, particularly the three Mosquitos. It’s also a pleasure to just wander around outside walking through planes like the Comet, the Dove and the 146 and after all of this to sit and joy the delights on offer in the cafe. A highly recommended visit for all aircraft/history/and all things aircraft related.

A real jewel of a museum located on the outskirts of London. It’s full of history, with fascinating navigation and communication gadgets. They have the original Mosquito prototype, wooden fuel tanks, communications and navigation artifacts, a fuselage from the famous Comet—and even the piece that failed. I learned so much during this visit (and I thought I knew it all!). The staff at the museum are extremely friendly and eager to guide you and share countless stories about De Havilland aircraft. Many are former workers from the factory. I highly recommend it for any aviation enthusiast.

Fantastic museum with many amazing exhibits, aeroplanes, interactive activities and even a working Merlin engine! Wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable staff, lots for all ages to enjoy, plenty of aircraft to sit in and explore and a great gift shop and cafe. Visited with X4 boys ranging 9 to 18 and they all loved it. "Treasure hunt" style quiz available for kids and a great second hand book selection. Would recommend!

What a wonderful place this is your visit, especially if you're a history lover or architecture enthusiast! I absolutely adored the rambling Gardens with a choice of different length walks, the cafe was very relaxed with a range of food and drinks but the highlight for me was the incredible tour of the old Elizabethan building by very knowledgeable and friendly Dermot! What a pleasure it was to enjoy such an in depth and interesting talk by such an experienced gentleman. We would definitely visit again!!

Visited the gardens only. Some of the most beautifully curated public gardens in SE England. Very lucky to be able to visit the East Garden which is only open to the public on certain Wednesdays. Some nice woodland walks as well although I would have to say that these aren't fantastically signposted.

It was very lovely place to visit. Free parking and only short walk to the house and gardens. Very brilliant, smiley and pleasant people work there, it was not a problem for them to help us use the lift a few times,so thank you.! It makes the visit so much easier and nicer. It's not easy to get around everywhere if you have a buggy or especially the walker.. Very recommend this place to visit!

What a gorgeous hidden gem just north of London crammed full of history. Very knowledgeable and helpful guides in each room. Check out their website as they put on ‘festival’ type events. The grounds are well kept. Only downside for me was you have to pay extra to go into the palace (£8 I believe). The ‘marmite’ fountain at the back of the house is interesting. I loved it. I will definitely be back.

I don't even know where to start to describe this fantastic place! We spent about five hours there and loved every single minute of it. There is just so much to see! We first visited the Gardens, which are stunning. Then we spontaneously opted for a guided tour of the Old Palace, which absolutely blew us away. I must admit that when we had decided to visit Hatfield House, we weren't even aware of the Old Palace and its significant history, so it felt like an extra bonus. Our guide was not only very knowledgeable, but also extremely engaging - a pure joy to listen to and get lost in the stories from days gone by. And then the house itself, which is absolutely marvellous in every respect. The staff in each of the rooms were genuinely eager to tell their story and engage with the visitors, so we were able to have long chats, which we thoroughly enjoyed! A long walk to the Oak Tree and back completed our visit, which exceeded our expectations by far. It didn't go unnoticed that unlike most historic houses in Britain, the gift shop was mostly stocked with local produce, rather than the usual souvenirs. But although we couldn't find anything to buy, we didn't even mind that. I got the feeling that despite all its fascinating history and splendour, Hatfield House doesn't seem nearly as commercialised as many similar places (we were surprised about the small number of visitors in the middle of summer), and that would actually seem a good thing. As a result, our visit had a very intimate touch, and we felt individually valued, rather than being a part of big masses of tourists passing through. Our visit turned out to be the highlight of our 10-day holiday in the UK!

Huge gardens & park with multiple routes for avid walkers / dog walking & a fantastic set up for a lovely morning / family day out. Easy parking, we visited their shops and cafe in their entry area, headed to the loo, got ice cream and made our way around their grounds in a beautiful sunny day! Might feel expensive for a walk but a worthy day out for family / friends and a great adventure location with food, facilities, and beautiful nature! Head here for a great day out when the sun is up!

You can feel the history at Hatfield house. You have the spectacular house, built by Robert Cecil, along with the old palace, where Elizabeth 1st and Edward would have been bought up. You can almost imagine them playing in the wonderful West Gardens as you walk around. The staff are full of information and love to share their wealth of knowledge, just ask. After the house, we went for a walk through the woods, down to the picturesque river. My mother is in a wheelchair, but we had no problems getting around. Everywhere is accessible. Just be prepared for some inclines in the woodland walks.

We had such a lovely day at Willows Activity Farm. The kids absolutely loved it — from feeding the animals to bouncing on the giant pillows and running around the Peter Rabbit play areas. There’s just so much for them to do, both indoors and outdoors, that we ended up staying most of the day without even realizing how fast it went by. Everything felt clean, safe, and well-kept, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was fine (a bit pricey, as expected at these places), but it didn’t really matter because the kids were having the best time. It’s clear that the place was designed with families in mind — it’s easy to get around with a stroller, there are plenty of toilets and shaded spots, and you never feel rushed. Perfect for young kids who love to explore and play. We’ll definitely be coming back — it’s one of those rare spots where the whole family leaves happy and tired in the best way.

Went for potato digging. It was such a fun experience for kids. We enjoyed rest of the day at the playground.

Absolutely amazing place to bring the kids. I think this is about our 7th year of coming here and each time gets better with something new being added. Loads of seating, loads of toilets, loads of lovely treats, loads of great activities for the kids and lovely clean animals. I’ll be sad when the kids don’t want to come anymore. We visited Willows Farm on a Sunday for the Pumpkin Festival, and it was a lovely family day out! The pumpkin patch was beautiful with lots of photo spots, and there was even a pumpkin carving area. Our daughter loved the pumpkin hunt around the farm and was thrilled with her little prize at the end. There’s so much for kids to do — bouncy castle, Peter Rabbit shows, tractor rides, feeding the animals, playgrounds, mini golf, and rides. You can easily spend the whole day there. The only downside for us was the food. We tried one of the food trucks near the pumpkin patch, but it was disappointing and overpriced. The buns were cold, and the burgers tasted like they’d been pre-cooked. We also skipped the hot chocolate after someone in front of us returned theirs. We then went to the indoor canteen, but it was very busy with long queues and packed seating, so we couldn’t get a meal there either. It was a cold day, so a nice warm lunch would’ve made the day even better. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and loved all the activities, but the food options really let it down. We’d happily come again for the fun, but next time we’ll definitely bring our own food!

UNWELCOMING PLACE IF THERE WAS 0 stars I would give. Discriminatary behaviour was demonstrated towards us by staff. Unwelcoming. No understanding towards children. My son who was over 90cm was denied access to areas that he was actually eligible for. Do not waste your money here. Also on weekdays majority areas are shut with one staff working and the shows do not run. I forgot to take photos on the day due to stress caused but attached photos of some closed attractions including “adventure playground” “carasouls” and “playground slides”

Grandparent’s paradise - a full day of entertainment for under 9’s. Great attraction good parking, well organised with really nice staff. If it’s dry there’s lots to do. Not so great in the wet. Indoor play area and soft play is a bit tired but the kids still love it. Toilets everywhere and good quality play equipment/bouncy castles. What’s not to like?

We recently spent a memorable day at Willows Activity Farm, and it truly exceeded our expectations! Visiting with two other families with children around 3.5 years old, we all had a fantastic time exploring the farm, especially with the added Halloween decorations and pumpkin patches for the season. Lucky for us, we enjoyed a sunny day—quite a treat for October in England—which made the visit even more enjoyable. Willows Activity Farm is packed with a variety of activities that kept the kids entertained from start to finish. 1.Animal Feeding: The kids were delighted to feed and interact with the farm animals, including goats and sheep. Feed is available to purchase, adding a fun hands-on experience for little ones eager to get close to the animals. 2.Piglet Race: This was one of the biggest hits! The kids loved watching the adorable piglets race around a small track, and the cheering made it all the more exciting. 3.Cow Milking Show: The cow-milking demonstration offers a great mix of entertainment and education, allowing kids to see where milk comes from. Very big nice park with lakes and aqua park/ water activities. Can do very long walks here with or without a dog. Many people cycle here too. There is fishing in the big water activities lake of that takes your fancy. Plenty of geese around. There's a cafe and toilets at the car park by the big lake Also a big play ground / water park for the kids as well as a smaller play area right alongside the big lake. Really lovely to come for a walk or sit down. Nice view over the hill too.

Great space for both children and adults! It has everything here including Play area, fishing, splash park, picnic benches, wall climbing, sailing, lakes, ponds, walks and a fully stocked cafe serving hot and cold food as well as ice cream and coffees. Toilets available too as well as plenty of grassland for the kids to run around. Definitely a place to visit!

The activity was great for the kids, the staff were very friendly and the system they have works well. There is hot food and coffee available at the cafe however the only bad point i have to make is about the toilets inside the cafe, there is a hygien issue, it looks and smells as if they havent been cleaned properly in months. The smell is unbearable and the walls are filthy, for that reason i refused to buy the family food there.

I recently attended the Taste of the Caribbean festival and had an incredible experience. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, with a true celebration of Caribbean culture throughout the day. The entertainment was fantastic, with a lively live band that kept the crowd dancing and engaged. The food was absolutely amazing – full of authentic flavours and a great variety to choose from. It was also a very family-friendly event, with something for everyone to enjoy. I felt completely safe the entire time, and the overall vibe was warm, joyful, and energetic. I’d definitely recommend Taste of the Caribbean to anyone looking for a fun, cultural, and well-organised day out. Can’t wait for the next one!

Fairlands Valley Lake is one of Stevenage’s most scenic outdoor spots, perfect for anyone who enjoys peaceful walks and natural beauty. The trails around the lake offer a relaxing route surrounded by greenery, open skies, and the calming sound of water. Visitors can watch ducks and geese gliding across the lake, take in the fresh air, and enjoy moments of quiet reflection. It’s especially stunning at sunrise and sunset, when the light dances across the water, creating breathtaking views that make every visit feel special.

Lovely open park with 2 big lakes. Perfect for walking, jogging, picnic, or just lying on the grass and relaxing. Very family friendly as well. There is a cafe with toilet. Parking is great with 4 separate parking areas and can accommodate quite a lot of cars. Went there for the first time on a sunny day and it did not disappoint.

Such a beautifully presented platter of delicious cheese and crackers which we thoroughly enjoyed with our cups of tea! Unfortunately however my partner being a 6’4 when used their loo, bumped his head as they have a low ceiling. Also, my partner had ordered another cup of tea that was served in another table which made him wait longer for his extra hot drink. As we explored in the field, we smelt a wonderful fresh fragrance of Lavender! It did not look as purple anymore as I am aware they were going to be harvested soon when we went on 07.08.25 However, the Sunflower field did not disappoint us as they were in their full bloom and most yellow. Nice day out! We love The Barn! Recommended. Be careful with your head at the loos though.

Visited Hitchin Lavender for the first time yesterday to pick our pumpkins for Halloween. We had a fantastic time. Despite the big crowds the pumpkin patch itself was full of loads of large and undamaged pumpkins, perfect for carving. The decorations were fun and well thought out. There was face painting, games and a clown present for the kids. It very aimed at families and children however me and my fiancée still had a great time as a couple. Both the cafes were busy but the staff were handling the queues quickly and politely, plus the pumpkin spiced latte and Halloween luxury hot chocolate were worth the wait as they were both delicious. I will definitely visit next summer as a result of how good it was for the Halloween season.

Absolutely 💯 beautiful experience. Wonderful atmosphere. Gorgeous place and definitely worth a visit. Our second visit and it’s better than the last. The Weather was hot ☀️ and nice 😊 All staff were nice and friendly. The Lavender Fields was vibrant with colour and the smells were amazing. Food was delicious 😋 and delightful. The lavender ice cream 🍦 was amazing. Lavender lemonade was delicious and very refreshing. Overall we had a fantastic experience. Everyone should visit Hitchin Lavender. I’ve come with my family from Manchester.

Hitchin Lavender is such a beautiful place to visit. The fields are stunning, filled with rows of vibrant lavender that make the perfect setting for a peaceful walk and lovely photos. We recently visited Hitchin Lavender Farm and had an absolutely amazing experience! The whole day felt like a perfect escape into nature — beautifully scenic, peaceful, and wonderfully pet-friendly. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning sea of purple stretching across the fields. The aroma of fresh lavender in the air was soothing, and the views were breathtaking — perfect for photos and for simply taking it all in. What made the visit even more special was that we brought our pet along — and they had a blast! Hitchin Lavender is genuinely welcoming to pets, and it showed. One of the biggest highlights was the pet ice cream available on-site. Our furry friend devoured it and couldn’t get enough! It’s such a thoughtful touch for animal lovers. We also tried the lavender ice cream ourselves — and wow! It was creamy, floral, and incredibly refreshing. A truly unique treat that we still talk about. The food options in general were lovely, with plenty of choices for snacks and drinks, and the outdoor seating made it easy to relax and soak up the atmosphere. Before we left, we couldn’t resist browsing the shop. We ended up buying several lavender products — from oils and soaps to beautifully packaged dried lavender. Everything smelled divine and made perfect gifts (and keepsakes for ourselves). Whether you’re coming for a peaceful walk, a family day out, or just to spoil your pet a little, Hitchin Lavender is 100% worth the visit. We left feeling refreshed, happy, and already planning our return next summer. 🌿💜

Very warm welcome from the reception staff. Lovely nice clean spa. Had a lovely Himalayan salt stone back massage with Megan. She was lovely and friendly but professional and the massage was good. The dehumidifier in the room was loud and she was unable to turn it off. This spoilt the overall experience for me as I found the noise irritating. Pool area was nice but there are not enough beds or chairs for people to be able to relax and read in the pool area and nowhere else to sit and relax. Cafe is okay, prices reasonable. Overall good value for money for a half day experience but not enough to do for a whole day.

I had a Himalayan Salt Stone massage at Bannatyne Fairfield today, it was so relaxing! Christine was really friendly and professional and made me feel completely comfortable. The massage itself was a full body, the salt stones were hot which was lovely and also exfoliating which was a bonus. After the treatment, I wanted to buy an Elemis cleanser and Christine was very knowledgeable about the products and helped me choose what was best for me and my skin. I bought the Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Wash and I have just used it for the first time. It had a nice gentle scent and my skin feels lovely and soft (which is not a given for me!). Thank you Christine!

Absolutely fantastic! The atmosphere, the staff and the building. We were greeted and told where everything was. The changing spaces were spacious and really modern. Lockers were a great size and the showers were lovely. Swimming pool was so relaxing with jacuzzi, steam and sauna. Restaurant food was easy to order and not too expensive. Food tastes great and quality was amazing. Had a cheeky cocktail and that went down a treat. The spa facility was beautiful! Great architecture and a great history. The treatment was perfect, great room temperature, relaxing and I could have stayed for longer! Will be back!

Had a lovely experience at Bannatynes Spa at Fairfield. Me and my mum decided to treat ourselves for my birthday to a spa day. The spa facilities were lovely as they have been before and it was so relaxing to be able to use the sauna and steam room after our swim. I will say the best part of the day was our treatments. We both had mini back massages and facials. Christine was my masseuse and she was amazing! She made me feel so relaxed and gave me great advice on how to look after my skin. She was so lovely and sweet and I truly couldn’t have asked for someone better to give me my birthday massage!

I had the absolute pleasure of a deep tissue massage with Jamila, and it was outstanding from start to finish. She was professional, kind, and genuinely listened to what I needed. For the first time, I felt like I had a real massage—targeted, effective, and exactly what my body needed, unlike previous experiences elsewhere. Jamila’s skill and care made such a difference, and she’s the reason I’ll be coming back to Bannatyne Spa Fairfield. Spa day. All staff very friendly. Facilities very good (full Technogym equipment). Food is good quality and reasonably priced. With vegan options :) Pool can get busy but if you’re just chilling and not using it to swim lengths it’s absolutely fine.

Lovely relaxing spa day, brilliant value for money with the 2 x 30min treatments. Mum and I had an express facial and back/neck/shoulder massage. It was lovely, we couldn't use the pool as a class was on but the sauna, steam and jacuzzi were fab! Great Gluten / Dairy free options for lunch too! We had a fab experience from start to finish x

We've been to Wimpole Hall and Farm many times over recent years but we have not been inside the house for some time. What a treasure it is! Forgot what a beautiful stately home it was inside and out plus also the connection to Rudyard Kipling is notable and not something I recall before. Entry ticket now includes the Home Farm (previously was an additional charge) which we didn't get time to visit but it's well worth it. They have also in recent years improved the car park and make it more accessible for less abled visitors.The grounds are large too so you can easily spend the full day there if needed.

Beautiful grounds, walked for hours. Fantastic walled garden. Cute tiny baby piglets! Cafes for coffees and snacks. Stunning collection of trees, herbs, flowers. Definitely worth a visit.

A lovely day out. Almost spoilt by the staff wanting to kick us out of the manor because it was almost time to lock up. That's for a different day if I visit again and it's the same. The manor is beautiful, with exquisite rooms and a gorgeous library. The grounds are remarkable. The amount of money it would have needed for upkeep alone is mind blowing. The cafe was a little under stocked, but the restaurant just a stones throw away made up for that. Nothing beats ab ice cold drink or ice cream on a British summer day 🙂 I took my family (8yo and wife) along with our friends (13yo, 9yo, and the parents). We enjoyed our 5 hour visit, walking everywhere from the woods, to the farm, and then to the manor. The farm is a working farm with historic buildings which are very imposing. I loved them. It was worth having our National Trust membership. Ample parking, and parking for parents + disability needs. A clean well looked after site which I wouldn't mind visiting again.

The building is quite grand and the interior decoration is beautiful. It takes about half an hour to tour the entire building. If this National Trust attraction only had this building, it would feel rather monotonous. However, since it originally provided a garden and form, you can spend a whole day here, so it is also a place worth visiting as a combination. You will often see families playing in the attraction. In addition, the vast garden also provides children's play facilities. In my opinion, compared with the National Trust attractions I have visited, the facilities here are very rich and sufficient.

I loved every bit of it. We covered everything in 2:30 hours but that was a bit of rush. I could have spend the whole day here. It's the best one I visited by far. I am definitely visiting again with plenty of time in my hand. Play area, Farm animals, house and walled garden - oh my god they all are worth seeing. I was also lucky to have the best weather too on the day however I would visit again regardless of weather anytime soon.

An amazing place to visit. The house is just so well preserved and presented. The grounds and gardens are a true pleasure to walk around. I especially enjoyed pig feeding time.

We really enjoyed are trip to the Wimpole estate, we walked around the extensive grounds and visited the old folly on the hill, really worth a basing and lunch was good at the coffee shop as per other national trust locations.

I had a lovely weekend at the spa. We arrived at 2pm yesterday and left at 5.30pm today, once we had our afternoon tea. The pool is lovely and big however not enough space for everyone to sit round especially when it rains like today so noone is outside. Food in the restaurant was delicious, service could have been a little quicker at points but overall the staff were friendly and polite. Coffee lounge service was slow too, needed more than 1 person to cover.

Beautiful grounds and building. Super friendly relaxed but competent staff, good rooms and really nice well equipped spa facilities. The restaurant is great. Good breakfast options and a well constructed evening menu. Fast and friendly service. The only slight downside is in the older rooms there is no Aircon. If you need a cold room over summer it's definitely worth asking for a room with AC.

Had a wonderful stay at Henlow spa. Loved the aqua classes and stretch classes. Kim was so motivating and encouraging. Great job ! Super treatments and food was superlative. Facilities were great and gardens a real treat. Lots of space to relax and lots to do if you wish. Exceeded expectations.

A delightful venue in a beautiful setting. I enjoyed 2 treatments and the staff were competent, professional and knowledgeable. I had a lovely buffet lunch of which there was a great selection. The desserts were limited, but the main course options were lovely! We didn't stay so cannot comment on the rooms as we were only day guests.

Jackie Harrup was one of the best waitresses we have met, along with every other member of staff at Champneys Henlow. But Jackie stood out to us as she was our server. She was so attentive and spent time to make us feel comfortable. We stayed in the Shepherds huts, beautiful, but if you don’t like bugs, stay away!!! Nature was beautiful though

I am black and experienced racism at this place. I requested a massage therapist who had done my head massage for a full body massage and was asked to pay about £20 extra which I immediately paid because why not? When my massage session was due, it was a different person who attended to me. A person who wasn’t as tender as the person I requested for. I didn’t mind because I was told the therapist I paid extra for wasn’t coming to work that day due to an emergency. After the massage, I came out to see the therapist I had requested going in to attend to someone else. At this point, I went to the reception to ask why they lied. They refused to say anything and I requested a refund immediately. Instead, I was asked if I wanted a foot massage to compensate for this. I was scared that if I went for the massage, the therapist might hurt me considering what I had just experienced so I didn’t accept this compensation and was consequently bullied out of getting my refund. I still suffer from anxiety thinking about how the staff made me feel. I work and pay my taxes, why should I be made to feel less like a person because of my skin?

A relaxing and luxurious weekend at Champneys Henlow. We enjoyed a gorgeous spa break, complete with two treatments as part of our experience. The staff were helpful and attentive throughout, though service at reception was occasionally slow, with the desk often unattended. The rooms could use a bit of modernising, but the picturesque surroundings more than made up for it. The food was a real highlight for us - absolutely delicious at every meal, with a wide variety of healthy options that left us spoilt for choice.

We dined in the cafe and walked around the well laid out gardens. 4 of us took the guided 1 hour tour which was led by Ross and Richard. There was so much information of which we knew little but Ross and Richard's knowledge was superb. Definitely recommend the tour.

Breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you won’t be disappointed. From a traditional full English breakfast to pancakes or smashed avocado on toast, Jordan’s Mill is definitely worth the drive. Staff are incredible, with a massive shout out to Sharon. An absolute powerhouse who was amazing. Friendly, attentive and I honestly thought she had a twin because she was everywhere! Touring the gardens after breakfast or lunch, is a treat for the senses, and walks off a bit of the amazing food.

Friendly staff and tasty food. Unfortunately most of the daily specials had already gone by the time we got there so we switched to the pie of the day (steak and ale) for himself and beef brisket jacket potato. Both were excellent: the jacket came with red cabbage slaw and a salad, the pie with mash, gravy and (unfortunately almost raw) tenderstem broccoli. Unfortunate, but the rest was delicious. Then we went over to the shop and bought some sweet treats!

We had such a fantastic time on our guided tour of Jordan’s Mill! Our guides, Ross and Heather, were absolutely amazing — so friendly, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. They brought the history of the mill to life and were happy to answer every question we had. We learned so much about milling and food heritage, and their enthusiasm made it all so interesting and fun. You can really tell they love what they do! Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting — it’s a brilliant way to spend a few hours.

It was my first time coming to this spa with friends. Check in was easy, you do it on an electronic kiosk and you’re given a wristband that will be used for your locker and purchasing drinks. For food it’s a set platter to share between two. The chicken was bland but the other items like the soup and the sweet potato chips were delicious. The dessert was nice also. The drinks were delicious as well, particularly the juices, these were very refreshing. Staff were very helpful and friendly. They made the experience more enjoyable. I appreciated their kindness and attentiveness. When going into the spa area there is a pool outside and there are several steam rooms. There was a salt room we went into but it wasn’t hot, but was still nice to sit inside of. They also have an ice room - which is a small room with an ice slab on the wall, this was nice to use to cool down. There was another room they had which was very misty and filled with stones, very hot and my friend enjoyed this one. It was relaxing to try the different rooms and lay in the pool. After you’re finished they have a shower room area but the hooks are located at the end, so you need someone to help you get your towel if you’re not at the end. They do have shower items in the cubicle like shower wash, shampoo and conditioner from ELEMIS. This was quite nice as it helped with my hair from what was done at the spa. There were also plenty of spaces to get ready - to dry your hair, apply face creams or do makeup. It was a very pretty layout and plenty of space for everyone. I really enjoyed my experience here and would recommend it for others also.

Gone down hill massively. Went there yesterday and was over booked, not enough space anywhere completely overcrowded. Now you have to order your drinks via your phone which makes no sense. You go to a spa to relax not look at your phone. We left after 1hr because it was so busy and didn't feel safe leaving 40 robes on hooks with my phone in its pocket. Also my partner left her bikini in the changing rooms. Called today and it's been stolen. Management completely have there head in clouds. Used to be a nice place. Won't ever be going back.

I have been to this spa many times over the last ten years as I live locally and have always enjoyed my experience. The spa packages with food were great, as well as the treatments for special occasions. I’ve often booked these for my partners birthday as a special treat. Tonight was the first time my partner and I have returned to ‘relax’ after the end of a stressful week of work. Unfortunately, since the updates to the spa I no longer feel the same. We left after two hours as the facilities and pool were far too overcrowded to use, and it was not relaxing in the slightest. It seems what used to be quite a boutique and up market spa has turned extremely tacky. The ‘touchless’ treatments are not the same as a proper massage or facial; we had to share a room with another couple for a start. Which was a weird experience to say the least. We will not be returning again any time soon, which is a real shame, as we used to really enjoy this spa and the treatments/packages that were offered. I’m not sure who did their market research on this but I feel it’s going to be a big mistake. The vibe has completely changed and doesn’t seem to fit with the resort - it’s sad and very clearly just to make more money.

Wonderful small spa in a peaceful resort. There are well-equipped changing rooms and showers. The staff provides you with a robe and two towels, the check-in is very easy, the staff is super friendly. In the spa, there are five rooms (salt spa, soft humidity spa, another one which i think is aromatherapy and one 80-85 degrees hot spa). There is also an ice room which is helpful after a hot spa, it would be useful though to have more ice or cold temperature rooms available. There is an outdoor pool with warm water, and places to sit outside. You can also order drinks whilst enjoying the spa. It is super clean, and the time slots are of good length (i.e. 10am-1pm, 1.30-4.30pm). There's also the option to try/book the sound experience which i cannot comment on as I didn't try it. If you are in the area, I'd very much recommend this place.

I wanted to share my recent experience at this spa from this weekend. I used the toilet to start with, (hopefully not sounding too crude) once I finished my business, I pulled up my shorts and they were soaked in someone else’s urine. Yes, the floor was soaked in urine. The shorts were the ones I arrived in so I didn’t have any others to leave with. I decided to go to the help desk to complain. They were apologetic and agreed that the state of the toilets is unaccepted. I asked if they had anything I could wear, they decided to sell me a pair of shorts which weren’t expensive (£17) and gave me 50% off. They said 50/50 on the basis that I’m to share the blame of my experience. I didn’t kick up a fuss and paid the money, even though they should have taken full ownership. All of this is before I’d even stepped foot in the main facilities. The spa itself has lots of different rooms (steam and sauna), it’s a little small and it was frustratingly overcrowded. It took a good 30 minutes before my partner and I could even get into the pool. Lots of people drinking in the main pool which made the experience by far from relaxing. I had a bad experience and to be honest I would find it extremely hard to recommend anyone to visit this spa.

Went to the Y Spa 2 years ago and had a wonderfully relaxing time. Decided to go again on a Monday afternoon, unfortunately nowhere near the standard of our first visit. Incredibly overcrowded (we couldn’t get in the outdoor pool or have use of an outside lounger as these had all been reserved with dressing gowns). The food menu was also very limited at this time of day. A disappointing second visit and not sure we’ll be back based on this experience.

The spa at Wyboston Lakes is lovely and peaceful and very reasonable prices. The food is delicious and they are good for allergies and vegan options. The steam rooms and saunas are nice and clean. The outdoor pool is lovely and warm and calm. Recommend.
