High Chaparral

Theme park
Water & Amusement Parks
Western-style park with a recreated town hosting live action stunt shows & fun learning experiences.
Very good for kids of all ages and grownups. It has something for everyone. A big plus are kid carts that you can rent at a very little cost and you can carry your kids everywhere. Won’t be bringing the stroller next time. A lot of food restaurants at decent prices
Roxana P — Google review
High Chaparral is so much more than a theme park — it’s a living, breathing memory machine. From the moment you step into the dusty streets lined with saloons and old Western facades, you’re transported to the world of cowboys, Native Americans, gold miners, and steam trains. Every little detail — the stagecoach rides, the wooden toys, the smell of smoke from the old steam engine — reminds you of legendary Westerns like The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Rio Bravo, Mackenna’s Gold, or Dances with Wolves. If you grew up watching shows like Zorro or reading Huckleberry Finn, this place will strike a deep nostalgic chord. The park brings to life the spirit of American frontier times with a Scandinavian twist — complete with exciting street performances, cowboy duels, and even a spicy Mexican food court that makes you feel like you’ve traveled from Michigan to Mexico City in minutes. It’s a celebration of cultural storytelling and imagination, filled with nods to film legends like Clint Eastwood, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Yul Brynner, and directors like John Ford. Whether you’re a family with kids or a grown-up looking to relive old movie dreams, High Chaparral is a beautifully designed, deeply emotional, and surprisingly authentic experience.
Abbas G — Google review
I visited my daughter in Sweden and this is where they took me , loved it was great fun , a live stunt show and the line dancing was hilarious, the instructor was so funny , well worth a visit , lots to do also for children, it would easily fill your day
Josephine M — Google review
Wow, what a place to spend a day at. Worth spending a full day there.. Kids and adults liked it a lot. However, when we took the train, an amazing cinematic scene was done by the crew, but some of the kids got scared. It looked so real to them. A great selection of food with reasonable prices. Parking is paid
Malak O — Google review
Place is a must visit for both adults and kids. Plan the visit as per shows timings. There are few rides on payment basis like train ride etc. Restaurants also available inside premises.
Chander V — Google review
The shows are great, there are some nice restaurants. That are not overpriced so plus for that. The toy guns, hats and belts are not overpriced in the kids section. Before I come to the cons I understand that theme parks have to make money to pay for staff, maintenance and so on. But it's a bit pricey. 399kr for entry, 60kr for riding the train every singel time per person, 30kr to rent gold wash pan (you get a fake gold coin at the end so that is that). The bathrooms vary but the ones in the museum was not great and had the worse smell of sewer. Overall it's Okey, go for the shows.
Fredrik — Google review
Fantastic place to take the kids (both big and small!! 😉). Wonderful shows that don't take all afternoon (max 25 mins), stunts, singing and generally enjoyable. Shows are performed in Swedish (to be expected!) But it's OK not understanding the language as the acting makes up for it. The actors who come out to meet you after the shows do speak English as well and are all up for photos being taken. We paid extra for a second day (worth it!) As we didn't make it around for everything the first day. We went during 1 of the fellesferie weeks which meant it was really busy but we still hot to do everything and see everything so no complaints from us.
Amanda ( — Google review
Very cool park. The interactive plays are very cool for the kids. It's a shame that the train ride costs extra; the tickets to get in the park are expensive enough, but the ride was very cool.

IKEA Museum

Mentioned on
1 list
Museum
Souvenir store
The IKEA Museum, located in Almhult, Sweden, is a must-see for design enthusiasts and fans of the retail giant. Opened in 2016 on the site of the world's first IKEA store, the museum offers hands-on exhibits, vintage catalogues, and retro displays that trace founder Ingvar Kampar's journey from vision to reality. It provides insight into Sweden's agricultural history and economic development while showcasing how IKEA revolutionized furniture accessibility and sustainability.
A great museum that I visited with a friend. The staff are friendly. It was interesting to dive into history. Some exhibits are interactive. In the same building, there is a restaurant with delicious food. On the ground floor, there are many souvenirs you can buy at the museum, with a wide selection
Яна — Google review
I was passing, so I called in. If you have spent hours and hours of Sunday afternoons in IKEA, and you're of a certain age ; you'll appreciate this walk back in time to see the stuff you bought, then offloaded on your kids in a pseudo encouraging way to get them to move out....
Sean J — Google review
A really nice museum!! You can tell it was created with a lot of pride and love. Don’t pay attention to the negative comments saying it’s small. It’s not an art gallery where you spend four hours, but I still spent over two hours there. And it’s not about the time, the museum is really well organized, just like every IKEA store, with lots of details and notes about Ingvar Kamprad and the growth of IKEA. And don’t miss the merch store, it was also really nice!🇸🇪
María M — Google review
Wow!! I especially enjoyed the different decades of furniture on display. It is a comprehensive look at the principles that IKEA was founded on and how those same principles have been applied throughout its history. We also enjoyed the restaurant and also visited the actual Ilea store a few km away. I only wish that the movie had given a better background on when/how IKEA began, more about the founder’s background, etc. No trip in this area of Sweden is complete without a stop here.
Pam G — Google review
If you're a lover of IKEA, you'll enjoy visiting this place to learn about the history of this legendary furniture company. You'll also learn about it throughout the years and get to know its founder and how he started from the early beginning. One thing that can be improved is adding more lights arrows on the floor to guide you through the museum sequentially. The only thing I didn't like is the shop. I wished they offered magnets or keychains that contain the name of the place but found none.
Abrar T — Google review
This is a fantastic place to go if you are either an IKEA fan or a product design junkie. Since I am both, I was overjoyed to see how well designed and laid out this museum is and how detailed the exhibits are. I quite liked the background on their product design process, which included looking at the ergonomics of things like kitchen layouts. I would definitely put this on a par with the World of Volvo museum. This is a great place to visit with the whole family. The museum itself has a “workshop” suitable for kids, there is an Ikea hotel just across the parking lot with a communal kitchen on every floor (and plenty of games to borrow in the lobby), and a very unique (but still in the IKEA family) restaurant also off of the same parking lot.
Scott C — Google review
Very inspiring place. A must visit if you want to learn the history how Ingvar Kamprad built IKEA from the beginning.
Bagus S — Google review
Brief but beautiful overview of IKEA’s collections and history. Great for kids. Very quick visit; you’ll need 30 minutes to an hour. Cafe is great too!

Smålandet Moose Safari

Mentioned on
2 lists
Wildlife and safari park
Nature & Parks
If you're looking for a unique adventure in South Sweden, the Smålandet Moose Safari is an absolute must-visit. Nestled within a stunning forest wildlife park, this destination is home to majestic moose and American bison. You can choose between self-driving through the park or hopping on a charming mini-train for a guided tour—both options offer fantastic views of these magnificent animals in their natural habitat.
Feeding a moose was on my daughter’s bucket list, so today she made that a reality. This was a fun and educational activity. I highly recommend the moose safari. Seeing a moose up close and touchable is pretty cool. The gift shop has some great items and the restaurant has some tasty foods. Stop by if in Sweden for this adventure.
Patricia L — Google review
A great visit to see Sweden’s “King of the forest”. They have 11 moose (& a whole herd of American bison) for you to visit. You can either drive your own vehicle or join the small land train with guided tour- we have done both now on different visits & both are excellent. The animals are clearly in their natural habitat & very well cared for, although it is an enclosure. They also have a great cafe (waffles are recommended!), restaurant, gift shop, kids play park & goat petting area too.
Sarah S — Google review
A nice way to get up and close to these very beautiful animals. We took the car safari, because the train had already finished for the day, but that brought the option to go at our own pace with our own car. The bisons were impressive too, they're so big and even had a few babies around! The souvenir shop is lovely too, lots of little gifts to remember the trip by :).
T F — Google review
It was a wonderful experience at the Moose Safari Park. I suggest to take the train over your own car for a better safari experience along with tour guide in English and Swedish.
Alex J — Google review
After a trip in Sweden without having seen a moose we decided to go to this safari park. Taking the little train proved to be of added value. You get to feed the moose and this they come close. I would advice to go early on the morning. It was a warm day and moose don't like that, so they were hiding in the shade as from noon, so not even interested in the food. My kids of 10 and 13 loved it. The food in the restaurant was also pretty nice. Never had moose or bison before. So overall a nice 2 hour attraction, but it could feel expensive if the moose (11 at the moment) are not active.
Jonathan R — Google review
We drove in by car and most of the time you are just stuck behind the train tour. The poor moose must live in a constant cloud of car exhaust. The park seems incredibly compact and the bison area seemed very small when thinking of just how many bison there were. Maybe my expectations were too high when seeing a rating of 4.6, but I felt really disappointed. Not quite sure why this place has such good ratings?
Iben S — Google review
We really enjoyed seeing the mooses up close from the train. They came over and ate the leaves we offered them. The mooses were majestic and absolutely beautiful! So it was extremely shocking to hear our tour guide mention that you could eat the meat of murdered mooses in the restaurant and you could buy their meat in the gift shop. What a disgusting and horrendous thing to do in a park where people come to admire beautiful living animals!
Joanna M — Google review
Nice park and very friendly staff. We got some hotdogs and waffles in the restaurant. But be aware, if you drive with your own car into the park, then you most likely will be stuck behind one of their trains for a while, which can be quite annoying.

Loved the coast side hike trail ... Totally recommend ❤️❤️
Kunal P — Google review
A beautiful nature area with fantastic places to take a bath and we even saw people jumping from a cliff into the water. Although we didn't dare. Highly recommended! Bring good walking/climbing shoes. The terrain can be hard to walk. We had a great time
Henrik M — Google review
Beautiful stony cliff and beach, famous also for being the set of the iconic chess match in The 7th Seal
Alessandro H — Google review
Very very beautiful place. However certainly not really accessible with trolleys and kids if you want to go all the way down to the ocean. But anyway worth a visit. Good parking possibilities (free of charge), even possible to charge EV and PHEV vehicles. No idea about cost though.
Henrik S — Google review
A short walk to the cliffs from the Hovs Haller hotel (with parking). Beautiful cliffs and views over the sea.

It's a very good place. We can see a lot of animals here for free and we can also do an adventure here with the good price.😉
Adelfa L — Google review
We stopped here so our kids could play in the amazing park. We all thought it was superb. Furthermore the public loos that are on site here were the best I have seen (even in Sweden). The petting zoo was great fun for all of us as well and gave us a chance to really talk about different animals.
Edward M — Google review
Super cool place to go and have a great time with your family and friends.
Niels T — Google review
The playground is fun for the little ones, but perhaps less so for bigger kids. Lots of farm animals, and a large herd of tame deer. Didn't try the zip-lines but the large course through the tree tops looks like it would be fantastic. Pricey though, at almost 400kr.
Ross K — Google review
Fantastic park for families. Petting zoo, great playgrounds, some museums, and a lovely ice cream shop. Also a train that goes into the city for the kiddos to ride. Plus entrance to the park is FREE!
Alan K — Google review
Great place for a day out with the family. One of the biggest playgrounds I've seen, lots of different animals (chickens, pigs, deer, etc.), a cafe, and a waffle restaurant. There's also a place that has a ropes course high up in the trees.

Skånes Djurpark

Mentioned on
1 list
Zoo
Outdoor Activities
Skånes Djurpark is a wildlife park that houses over a thousand Nordic animals in naturalistic enclosures. Visitors can enjoy watching majestic elks, spotting foxes hiding in the bushes, and interacting with cuddly animals in the petting zoo. The park also features the world's first Shaun the Sheep theme park and Expedition Up, where wooden bridges allow guests to observe animals from above.
I had a lovely time at Skånes Djurpark! The park is very clean, family-friendly, and the animals have plenty of space. It’s a great place to learn about Nordic wildlife in a natural setting. I especially enjoyed the moose and bear areas. The walking paths are beautiful and peaceful, and there are nice spots to relax or have a picnic. Perfect for a day out in nature! I recommend you buy your tickets online, it's more affordable.
Gizem Y — Google review
Comparative to other zoo in Sweden and this is fairly less entertaining, but there are good number of activities for the kids. They do not have any specific indoor marine or small animals and neither they have big animals like tiger lion elephant rhinos they have bear bison and nothing much fancy, a small dinosaur park is also good to see
Kumar S — Google review
We went before Halloween, the park was decorated very nicely. There was a good atmosphere and we loved the animals. It was a good visit.
Jane V — Google review
Be prepared for a long walk 😊 We couldn't see all the animals but it was worth to visit. Buying the ticket online in advance (not the same day) will make you save a lot.
Turker T — Google review
Very toddler friendly. There is a small Shawn the sheep ride area where you go with a tractor. (They do spray water on you during the trip, its super cute actually) The wall through the park is shaded. The dinosaur area is really cool, the dinosaur make noises and it can be a little bit scary, but is very fun even as an adult.
Adde A — Google review
Nice place, especially for kids, but unfortunately we didn’t see any wolves or bears. Also, since it was a big day (Ebo Day), you could have staffed the food truck with more employees — it’s not reasonable to wait an hour just to get a burger sandwich, especially knowing there would be a large crowd.
Amin A — Google review
Huge beautiful animal park, very nicely maintained. Various species. Restrooms throughout the park. Playgrounds, streetfood and a lot more
Anikó D — Google review
It's a nice place to have a day out in nature. It's all native animals, though, and many of them are nocturnal, so you likely won't see every animal in the park out and about. I really liked the area for the seals, and I thought it was unique in the way that it was set up like a natural pond, rather than something more resembling a swimming pool that you usually see at zoos. It was a very hot day when we came to visit back in August, and the ice cream certainly helped offset some of the heat!

Kullen Lighthouse

Museum
Kullen Lighthouse, located on the Kullaberg Peninsula, is arguably Scandinavia's oldest lighthouse with a history dating back over 1000 years. Positioned dramatically atop cliffs, it serves as a crucial navigational beacon in heavily trafficked waters, with its powerful 1000-watt beam visible for 27 nautical miles. The site offers expert-led and self-guided tours, along with a summer cafe and opportunities for porpoise watching.
Kullen Lighthouse is a breathtaking coastal landmark on Sweden’s southwest coast. Surrounded by rugged cliffs and stunning ocean views, it offers a peaceful retreat with incredible scenery. Visitors can enjoy panoramic vistas, explore nearby nature trails, and learn about its rich maritime history at the visitor center. Perfect for sightseeing, photography, and nature lovers. A must-visit spot for anyone exploring the area!
Canerello — Google review
Wonderful peninsula for hiking - no difficulties. The round tour (marked orange) is recommended. Pack a bathing suit and plenty of time, it's worth it. The visit to the centre at the top (halfway point) is also worthwhile. Especially noteworthy, outside, the litter educational trail with the final post with plastic bags to help keep nature clean.
Thomas K — Google review
A nice view of the sea. Lot's of black berries around the hiking path. Parking is available on the site. Then you have to walk. Wheel chairs are not suitable as hiking area. There is a small ice cream shop and washrooms are also available in the shop. At exhibition area, you can see information about sea animals. In some areas you can take a sea bath. A beautiful place to visit in summer.
Dmm B — Google review
Walked from Mölle to the Lighthouse following the orange trail on the south side, took about 2 hours in slow tempo, with breaks, in the beaming hot sun. Would highly recommend walking there, the scenery on the way is amazing.
Emil N — Google review

Beautiful views and numerous trails that take you down to the edge and also just around the whole area. It's a magic place to explore!

Destined R — Google review
Great spot to spend quality time with friends and family. Plenty of parking spaces available. There is a fee of 30kr to go on top of the lighthouse. You will get a binocular to look around. There are at least 5 hiking trails around this place with easy to hard difficulty levels. Be prepared for strong winds.

Kronborg Castle

Castle
Museums
Kronborg Castle, also known as Hamlet's Castle, is a 16th-century Renaissance masterpiece located in Helsingor, Denmark. This UNESCO World Heritage site is famous for being the inspiration for Elsinore in Shakespeare's 'Hamlet.' The castle features baroque green-copper spires and is surrounded by moats and fortifications. Visitors can explore the inner palace's royal chambers, tapestries, ceiling paintings, and viewpoints.
Good: ✅ This is THE attraction in town. Beautiful property, castle, and engaging museum. ✅ Tailored visits. With a few hours on hand, pay admission and see it all. If short on time, walk the exteriors (amazing views) at no cost. Either journey is at your own pace. ✅ Well organized. There are sections of the castle with color-coded entrances from the main courtyard. A color-coded map is provided making it easy to make choices—see what you want. Caution: ❌ Obviously, a rainy day will alter the outdoor experience. However, for those paying admission, there is still so much to see inside. Summary: Aside from the adjacent cobblestone streets meandering through a charming cluster of shops and restaurants (an attraction on its own), the Kronborg Castle is the star attraction in town. An exploration will not disappoint.

Kronborg Castle is one of the most impressive and atmospheric places I visited in Denmark. Overlooking the Øresund Strait, this UNESCO World Heritage site is not only visually stunning, but also packed with history and character. Known worldwide as “Hamlet’s Castle,” it fully lives up to its fame. The rooms and royal chambers are beautifully preserved, giving you a real sense of the grandeur of the Danish monarchy in the Renaissance era. But the highlight for me was exploring the dark, eerie casemates — the old military barracks beneath the castle. Walking through those damp, stone tunnels really brings the past to life. You can almost feel the presence of the soldiers who once took shelter there. And then there's Holger Danske, the legendary statue deep in the basement. According to Danish folklore, this mythical warrior sleeps under Kronborg Castle and will rise to defend Denmark in her time of need. Seeing the statue in the dim light down there added a magical, almost mythological touch to the whole experience. If you're into history, legends, or just want to explore a magnificent fortress with great views and an unforgettable atmosphere, Kronborg is absolutely worth the visit. Take your time — there’s a lot to discover.

Learned a lot about Danish history at Kronborg Castle — magnificent architecture and rich stories of kings and battles. The tower visit is absolutely worthwhile, offering stunning views over Helsingør and across to Sweden. A must-see for anyone interested in history, culture, and royal heritage.

What an experience! One of the most interesting castle I have ever visited. There many things to see during your visit there make sure to be on time so you don't miss anything. The underneath area was very spooky and adventurous!

Visiting Kronborg Castle was such a wonderful way to start our week in Denmark; we went on a Monday (during shoulder season) and it set the tone beautifully for our week ahead. The castle is located in the quaint town of Helsingør, about 45 minutes by train from central Copenhagen. The ride is comfortable and scenic, and from the station it’s a short walk into town and up to the castle grounds. We paid about 145 DKK for adult entry, students 125 DKK, and children under 18 were free. Kronborg dates back to the early 1420s when a fortress first stood here; later in the 16th century King Frederick II transformed it into the grand Renaissance castle you see today. The setting is dramatic: right at the narrowest point of the Øresund Strait, looking across toward Sweden, which explains its historic importance. The connection to William Shakespeare’s Hamlet adds a layer of legend and story: this very site inspired the “Elsinore” of the play. “To be, or not to be” seems almost to float in the air when you walk the corridors. We spent a few hours exploring and I’m so glad we didn’t rush; We enjoyed the whole castle, then ventured down into the crypts beneath the castle which felt a bit eerie, then examined the great halls, ramparts, the chapel and the sweeping views over the water. There’s a nice café inside and the gift shop nearby is well worth a browse and I found some beautiful keepsakes to take home. The town of Helsingør is charming, with historic buildings, small cafés and the sea at its doorstep; combining lunch in the town centre with our castle visit made for a really nice day out of the city. One important note: accessibility is limited; the castle has many stairs and no elevator, so it’s not ideal for wheelchairs. Opening hours when we visited were Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 until 16:00 in the off-peak season; the castle is closed on Mondays. During spring and summer months the hours are extended and on major holidays special times apply, so it’s worth checking ahead. Summer weekends in particular can get busier; if you prefer quieter exploring aim for a weekday morning. If you’re in Copenhagen and craving a day trip with history, drama and stunning scenery, I highly recommend Kronborg Castle.

Few things you can say about Kronborg Castle other than incredible. There’s so much to see, experience, and learn here — the amount of history within these walls is astounding. The preservation work is truly impressive, allowing visitors to step back in time and appreciate this remarkable piece of Denmark’s heritage. I had an amazing time touring the castle and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

A magical place full of history! Kronborg Castle is truly impressive - elegant, mysterious, and full of stories. The view of the sea is breathtaking, and it's easy to imagine Shakespeare's Hamlet walking through the halls. Beautiful architecture, calm atmosphere, and great exhibitions. Just make sure to dress warmly - it can be quite windy there, even in spring!

Kronborg is wonderful and easy day trip from Copenhagen on the train. It exceeded all expectations. The castle is gorgeous. The exhibits are fantastically interactive and engaging. The Hamlet characters coming to life was a highlight. The views of the sea are incredible. Also, great town to explore ..

The M/S Maritime Museum in Helsingor, Denmark offers a unique underground experience showcasing the history of Danish seafaring and trade. The modern building provides an intriguing setting for exhibits on this maritime heritage. Located on the northeast coast of Zealand, it stands opposite Helsingborg, Sweden. The museum is a must-visit destination for those interested in delving into Denmark's rich seafaring past.
The museum was very informative and attractive. For adults and for the kids it's for everyone who wants to learn something about Danish maritime history. The museum shop was weak if I compare it with the Viking museum in Roskilde. But overall I definitely recommend this museum. Actually just for this museum you can come to Helsingør.
Yunus D — Google review
Worth a trip to Denmark! It’s not only worth a detour to finish your Copenhagen pass, it could be the cornerstone of your entire trip; according to the Michelin rating, it’s the top note! The museum is set in a dry dock, adorning an incredible architecture. Very kids friendly, with a huge playing area that also instructs, it offers a story within the story with a clandestine mouse that the kids have to hunt for. As for the adults, the museum is multifaceted, showing history, WWII, the influence of shipping, but also stunning models and a mesmerizing photo exhibit of sunk boats and their treasures. Tank to the team, always smiling as they provide answers to the most obscure questions, and the generous donators that made this museum possible. The shop offers quality products designed or made in Denmark. If the cafe is closed, there is a huge indoor food trucks area nearby! There’s more than Hamlet in Helsingør!

It was our second visit to the museum, which underwent an excellent renovation during the winter of 2024–spring 2025. We continue to love the place, as do our kids. It’s a spot where you can learn a great deal about Denmark’s maritime history and spend hours admiring the many boat models. We highly recommend a visit and suggest planning to spend 2–3 hours there.

Impressive museum with a great shop selling quality merchandise. Well laid out with a qualiat the half way point. Every section of every hall has interesting artefacts, with everything fully explained on Dutch and English. Including the fractured skull of a sailor who fell from the mast of a tall ship.

This museum is so much fun, it deserves all 5/5 stars. Not 4.5, not 4.7, but a proper 5. The effect the museum had on us is that our new dreamjob is to design museums about on the surface boring subjects. Making ships this interesting, quite the accomplishment. It was very interactive, we learned a lot and we loved finding the hidden mice 🐭 (and we're grownups!) Discovered this museum thanks to the CPH card, and would recommend anyone to make a stop here, along with the castle right next to it. Great stuff!

The Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humlebaek, Denmark showcases an impressive collection of international contemporary and modern art dating back to 1945. The museum also features temporary exhibitions and is suitable for all ages. Visitors can bring their own food and drinks or dine at the cafeteria/restaurant. The facility is easily accessible with baby strollers and boasts creative spaces for children to play and create.
Super fun place to examine modern art. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of modern art but this place was a lot of fun. The sculpture garden was the highlight but in a very special way. Be sure to first experience seeing the sculptures from inside the museum as you peruse the other exhibits then experience them from the outside. This made me really appreciate how well the sculpture and the building integrates with each other and with the surrounding environment - both the rise and fall of the property and the background of the sea and sky. Just a superb experience.

About an hour by train outside of Copenhagen city centre and then 10 minutes walk from Humlebaek station. The ticket can be book online but it was also super easy to buy it on arrival with no queue when we go on Sunday midday. There are a little bit of outdoor sculptures and some indoor gallery. Nice view and some interesting displays. There are 2 gift shops, one on the ground floor and one downstairs. I had a fun train ride.

This museum is a wonderful reason to take a short trip and experience another side of Denmark beyond Copenhagen. It offers a great opportunity to focus on and appreciate the works of talented contemporary artists. The outdoor installations, in particular, blend beautifully with the gardens and surrounding landscape. The number of artworks feels just right—not overwhelming—allowing you to take your time, enjoy the scenery, and relax as you explore, especially on a pleasant day.

Really amazing museum. Large galleries, beautiful outdoor space with ocean views, great 2-story gift shop and restaurant. Plan to spend about 2.5 hours wondering around. Really enjoyed the exhibits and architecture. We bought our tickets online and they were good for one use within one year of the time of purchase. The train ride is about an hour from downtown Copenhagen.

Beautiful museum, really recommend the trip out of the city to visit. Great, easy train journey too with a short walk to the museum which is set in the most fabulous building and grounds. We booked tickets in advance so we didn’t have to queue, which id recommend if you can. Loved the sculpture garden, definitely go on a dry day so you can make the most of the gardens and the views over the water. Wonderful cafe, with space to eat/drink outside in the sun. Great coffee. Beautiful shop with loads of fab design based gifts, art prints, ceramics, books and accessories. Cloakroom space through the back of the shop to store bags and coats in lockers is so useful. A card machine is available for those without local coins to use.

After being to several modern arts meseums I think they are not for my taste.I have to be objective tho. I think the exhibitions were smartly and beautifuly placed. The place itself was clean and not overcrowded. Nice cafe to relax, have a drink or a snack. Beautiful views at the sea while you walk in the garden area.

Visiting the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art was one of the highlights of our Copenhagen trip; it made for such a beautiful day out of the city. The museum is located in Humlebæk, about 35–40 minutes north of Copenhagen. We took the train and the journey was quick, scenic and very comfortable; once you arrive it’s only a short 10 walk from the station to the entrance ( just follow the crowd) The museum first opened in 1958 and was created with the vision of making modern art accessible in a place where people could experience it alongside nature rather than in a formal or intimidating setting. The architecture is stunning! Designed by Jørgen Bo and Vilhelm Wohlert, and the layout feels thoughtful and calm. There are long corridors of glass, open courtyards, natural light everywhere and pathways that lead you between indoor gallery spaces and the outdoors. It’s the kind of building where you notice something beautiful around every corner. The museum is known for showcasing both international and Danish modern and contemporary artists. They have an incredible permanent collection, and new exhibitions are rotated throughout the year so there is always something fresh to experience. The sculpture garden overlooking the sea might have been my favourite part; walking through the garden with large scale artworks and hearing the ocean just behind them felt very special. Inside there are two places to eat: one café outdoors along the sculpture garden path, and one beautiful indoor restaurant with large windows facing the ocean. We stopped at the restaurant and enjoyed a glass of wine and something delicious to eat while looking out over the coastline; such a peaceful moment in the middle of exploring. There is also a fantastic gift shop filled with design pieces, prints, books and souvenirs. Perfect if you want to take something home to remember your visit. This museum is big; we spent nearly the entire day there and I’m glad we didn’t rush. We took our time walking through the exhibitions, stopping for breaks, sitting outside, and exploring the gardens. It is absolutely the kind of place where slowing down makes the experience even better. Entry tickets cost 145 DKK for adults, with students holding a valid student card paying 125 DKK. Children and young adults under 18 have free entry. We bought our tickets on arrival and there was no wait at all, which made our visit feel relaxed from the start. Opening hours when we visited were Tuesday to Friday from 11:00 to 22:00, and Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 to 18:00; the museum is closed on Mondays. I imagine summer weekends are the busiest, so if you prefer a quieter experience, weekdays are probably ideal. A quote that came to mind while wandering around was “Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” It felt fitting, because this place truly lifts something inside you. If you are visiting Copenhagen and want a day where art, architecture and nature come together beautifully, I highly recommend coming here. It’s calming, inspiring and incredibly memorable; I would happily return again.

Lovely museum situated in a gorgeous place looking out on the ocean and Sweden. Loved some of the art, hated some of the art - the perfect modern art experience. The grounds were fun to explore and linked together with the sculptures and exhibition wings beautifully. Amazing shop as well, I wish I had more money as I would happily take most of it home

Kulturen in Lund is a captivating museum that offers visitors a unique experience to explore local history and culture. The museum comprises both indoor and open-air sections, showcasing historic buildings and lush gardens. Visitors can immerse themselves in the daily life of past eras, from the Middle Ages to the 1930s, through various exhibitions on folk art, modern design, and global culture.
What a wonderful experience we had at this museum. It was way bigger than I could have imagined and we spend a solid three hours there. Lots of different houses that give you the feeling how life was back in Sweden. Very well preserved and plenty of interaction. There are many activities you can do in the museum which also makes it fun for kids. Only feedback I have is that not everything is translated in a convenient way.

A large open museum of Swedish culture in Lund, few temporary exhibitions are hosting there, all of them are very interesting, and there are lots of exhibits of different houses and cultures which shows the Swedish life from the 1600s to the modern days The open museum area is pretty large and it's perfect to enjoy a cozy afternoon there. There's a restaurant, a café and a souvenir shop with some very interesting books. You'll most likely spend more than 2 hours there thetefore is better to go there earlier.
Möbius — Google review
I was quite impressed with the open-air museum. Apparently, throughout the last century, they have taken old buildings from around Sweden as they were about to be demolished and took them apart and reassembled them here as life-size exhibits, showing life in eras past. The 18th century parsonage and the wooden church are probably the most impressive items in this museum. But one can also visit a 1920s mason's apartment, or tan early 19th century house of a local university professor (he lived well). The whole place is very kid-friendly and one can spend anywhere between two hours or a whole afternoon there.
Tomas C — Google review
A beautiful open air museum about houses in Sweden from the 16th until the 20th century, some from the country-side others from villages and cities of southern Sweden. All free accessible and some with nice exhibitions. The museum is located in a city area with old buildings from the 16th century onwards worth wandering around.

Lund Cathedral

Sights & Landmarks
Lund Cathedral, a renowned Lutheran church in Sweden, is a must-see landmark with its 55-meter-high towers known as Lunna pagar. Dating back to 1145, the cathedral boasts historical treasures like the untouched crypt from 1123 and an astronomical clock from 1380. Designed by architect Helgo Zetterval, the main block features a classical style and faces a charming square. Visitors can also admire the impressive Kungshuset tower nearby.
Lund Cathedral is a must-see if you’re visiting southern Sweden! The architecture is absolutely stunning with it's massive stone towers-seriously impressive! The cathedral really stands out in the center of the city. It's hard to miss. Inside, it's really pretty with its stained glass and a cool astronomical clock located towards the back. Some of the people I met that came out shortly after me said they weren't allowed to see the clock or take pics. I think they start to get strict there on visitors once mass begins. It’s free to enter and is worth a stop in. A memorable landmark in Sweden for sure.

A beautiful old cathedral built around the 1100s. As with cathedrals back then, there is a crypt where kings and other important people were buried. Another really cool antique is the astrological clock that still works. Amazing place and it is definitely a must visit when in Lund.
C N — Google review
Lund Cathedral isn’t just a place of worship — it’s a cathedral wrapped in Swedish legend, myth, and medieval wonder. From the moment you step inside, you feel the weight of centuries and stories pressing in from the stone walls and shadowy corners. The most fascinating part lies beneath the main floor — the ancient crypt, built in the early 12th century. Here stands the eerie statue of Finn the Giant, said in local legend to have built the cathedral in a single night. When the bishop tricked him out of payment, Finn tried to destroy the cathedral but was turned to stone and now stands silently guarding the crypt. It’s a chilling and unforgettable sight that adds a mythical edge to your visit. Then there’s the astronomical clock, an enchanting medieval timepiece that still functions today. Every day at noon and 3 p.m., you can watch it come to life as the Three Wise Men process before a mechanical Virgin Mary and baby Jesus, while medieval music plays. It’s like stepping straight into a fairy tale. Even if you’re not religious, the deep sense of Nordic lore, mystery, and ancient craftsmanship make this one of the most memorable cathedrals in all of Scandinavia. A must-visit for lovers of legends and the mystical past.

Very historical church , must visit and it’s near to malmo. It’s built in year 1100 and architecture is very beautiful. There is no entry ticket for this church. Usually there is lot of weddings happen in this church and some times it can be closed for visitors. There is paid parking available nearby. Lot of restaurants also nearby.

A very serene place, It is beautiful cathedral built around the 1100s. It was worth the visit for the beautiful stained glass windows and the silence. the offerings of burring the candle was satisfying
Sunil K — Google review
It's a magnificent ancient church that has retained its genius loci. There is an astronomical clock inside which shows not just time but also date and zodiac sign and it chimes, with moving marionettes, at noon. And this is followed by a short prayer and Bible reading, which I very much appreciated. The bookstore across the church yard is also very much worth visiting.
Tomas C — Google review
I really liked it. For a 1000-year-old cathedral, it's very well-preserved. Don't miss the basement, there's a very interesting crypt there.

Frederiksborg Castle, a stunning lakeside palace nestled in Hillerod, Denmark, is a treasure trove of Danish and royal history. Originally constructed in the early 17th century for King Christian IV, this magnificent fortress showcases Dutch Renaissance architecture and stands proudly amidst its picturesque moat-lake. Visitors can explore the expansive grounds featuring beautifully manicured baroque gardens and access the central courtyards without charge.
Absolutely stunning! Frederiksborg Castle is without a doubt one of the most impressive baroque palaces I’ve ever visited - and I’ve seen many across Europe. The architecture is grand and elegant, with richly decorated rooms full of history, royal portraits, and fascinating artifacts. The chapel alone is a masterpiece, and knowing that Danish monarchs were crowned there adds a real sense of significance. The surrounding grounds are equally breathtaking. The baroque garden is massive and beautifully kept, offering amazing views of the castle from different angles. You can easily spend hours walking around the lake, gardens, and courtyards. Fun historical note: the castle was built by King Christian IV in the early 1600s and later restored after a major fire, thanks in part to the founder of Carlsberg beer! It now houses Denmark’s National Portrait Gallery and offers a deep dive into Danish royal history. A must-visit if you’re anywhere near Copenhagen — worth the short trip to Hillerød. Peaceful, majestic, and unforgettable. It made me think of some amazing palaces of Peterhoff, Saints Peterburg.

Frederiksborg Castle is a grand and beautiful castle located about an hour from Copenhagen 🇩🇰. You can take a train to Hillerød Station, and from there it’s an easy 1 km walk to the castle 🚶‍♂️. Entry fee is 110 DKK per person, and the castle is surrounded by stunning gardens and a peaceful lake that make the whole place truly picturesque 🌿🏰. When we visited, some parts were under renovation, and the museum inside didn’t have much that was interactive. Still, the architecture and royal atmosphere make it a pleasant visit, especially if you love history and photography 📸. If you’re short on time, we’d recommend visiting Kronborg and Rosenborg first, and then Frederiksborg — in that order ⏱️. Each has its own charm, but Kronborg and Rosenborg felt more engaging overall ✨.

Why visit? ✅ If limited on time, tour the grounds for free (no cost). ✅ Regarding the grounds, there are so many different views to enjoy while walking the property: gardens, waterfronts, bridges, courtyards, etc. ✅ The castle interior (admission required) is loaded with artwork, antiques, and rooms that stun with both size and intricate detail. Why skip? Honestly, I can’t think of any reason. If limited on time, at least walk to the grounds to get a good look. If spending a day in town, this is THE attraction to visit.

This is a lovely easy day trip out of Copenhagen. A single 40 minute ride on the E train to Hillerød station then a 15 minute walk or short bus ride to the castle. The castle is huge and rarely crowded, but the vast rooms, artwork, and gardens are gorgeous. Check out the tour times before you visit - we were lucky to arrive just in time for the English language tour and it was superb. The castle is an easy walk from town, but there’s also a small boat which does a lap of the lake and for a small fee takes you to the garden and the far side of the castle.

We knew this place was one of those 'must see' locations on the island of Sjælland and I vaguely remembered going there when I was 12, entry is also included within the Copenhagen Card. We had actually spent the entire day in Copenhagen the day previously and so had always planned to head north the following morning. We were back at Tivoli by the afternoon so definitely recommend this as a day if you've the stamina. Very impressive castle and worth the visit. It would probably have been better a few weeks later when the wee boat on the Slotssøen was running again (too early in the season) but then I imagine you'd want more than just a morning in the area when the weather is warmer too. The bonus was that it was really quiet - you'll see from the photos we were often the only family in these huge and spectacular rooms.

It's a lush green space adjacent to the castle grounds, boasting stunning gardens, numerous statues, two lakes, and a charming community garden. The park offers a peaceful retreat with meandering paths for leisurely strolls and opportunities for picnics.
Really nice park in the middle of Malmø and close to Malmöhus Castle. The park provides a good respite from an otherwise busy city, and the old castle complex ensures that there is a lot of wildlife, such as ducks and swans. Really enjoyed visiting the park and will definitely be back when summer comes to Malmö.

What an incredibly nice place in the middle of Malmö. We really like trees and nature so we were really amazed. No entry fee, a lot of benches, delicious ice was offered by a very kind young lady, a lot of water and flowers. We noticed that everything was really clean and tidy, people were kind and friendly. Unfortunately, we have visited Malmö on a public holiday so maybe normally we could see more.

A truly lovely place to stroll, unwind, and soak in the beauty of nature. Peaceful and serene—perfect for anyone looking to escape the noise and simply listen to the quiet.

such a nice place to spend your time - walking your dog, let the kids play or just enjoy the stunning atmosphere of this beautiful park. very clean and calm. 100% worth a visit. 👏

Beautiful endless fauna and flora. Parks for the Littles throughout as well as plenty of hobbit and fairy houses. Look closely.
Kimberly S — Google review
Great park for a walk, jogging, coffee or ice cream. Activities are often organised, and there are plenty of children’s playgrounds. Established in 1872, it is Malmö’s oldest public park, designed in the romantic English garden style and home to over 120 tree species from three continents. Highlights include a historic cast-iron fountain from 1882, the decorative “Grottan” cave with its Norse-inspired snake head fountain, and beautiful canal-side azaleas and rhododendrons

The Little Mermaid

Sculpture
Sights & Landmarks
The Little Mermaid is a famous bronze sculpture in Copenhagen, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's beloved fairy tale. Unveiled in 1913, it sits gracefully on a rock along the waterfront and is a must-see for literature and fairy tale enthusiasts. The site offers serene views of the harbor and appeals to those seeking a contemplative experience. To avoid crowds, visit early in the morning or late afternoon.
The Little Mermaid may be small, but she's full of emotion and history. Sculpted in 1913, she tells the story of love, sacrifice, and longing from Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale. Don't just stop for a photo - walk around the area! You'll find the beautiful Gefion Fountain, St. Alban's Church, and cozy cafés nearby. In spring, especially from mid-April to early May, cherry trees bloom along the paths, making it one of the most romantic walks in Copenhagen. A timeless symbol of beauty and reflection.

Visiting the Little Mermaid statue in Copenhagen was a memorable experience. The sculpture itself is smaller than I expected, but it’s beautifully placed by the water and has a certain quiet charm. The surroundings are peaceful, with lovely views across the harbor, and it’s a nice spot for a walk. Even though it can get a bit crowded with tourists, it still feels special to see such an iconic landmark in person. A must-visit if you’re exploring Copenhagen!

The Little Mermaid – A Symbol of Copenhagen We visited the famous Little Mermaid statue, and while the statue itself is quite small, it’s definitely worth the visit. Nestled along the waterfront, the surroundings are absolutely beautiful, offering peaceful views and a scenic walk leading up to the site. The walk itself is part of the experience – calm, relaxing, and filled with lovely views of the harbour. Do keep in mind that it’s a popular attraction, so it can get quite crowded. If you're hoping for a quieter moment, consider visiting early in the morning or later in the evening. A charming and iconic stop on any Copenhagen itinerary.
Mark H — Google review
Copenhagen in the Spring is a nice, relatively quiet port with mostly the usual features of European / Scandinavian ports. The only unique attraction is The Little Mermaid statue, small but with it's own history of abductions, kidnapping and beheadings. If you're lucky your guide will give you the local story of the Little Mermaid which is more of a Danish Tragedy, so beware of little ears who are enchanted by the Disney version. It isn't magical but it's interesting lore. Here are a few other shots of the city as there are ample and better pictures of the Mermaid than I could get under the lighting conditions.

The Little Mermaid bronze statue, located in Copenhagen, sits on a granite rock, on the water side of langeline promenade. It is 4.1 ft tall and weighs 175 kgs. The Statue was based on the fairy tale of Hans Christian Anderson and was unveiled to the public in 1913. However, it has now become a target for defacement, due to uncaring attitude of some people, despite attracting those tourist and visitors, who are smitten fairy tale lovers, ofcourse that includes me. I loved her quiet gaze, an unassuming sureness of her existence to continue.
Neeru D — Google review
I visited the Little Mermaid in Copenhagen around dusk since it gets dark early this time of year. It wasn’t crowded, which made it easy to take pictures. There were no tickets or anything like that, you just walk up to it. The statue itself was nice to see in person, though it felt a bit simple to me. Still, it was a fun stop and worth seeing while in the city.
Grace W — Google review
it’s a very beautiful and symbolic statue as the sea wraps around it. around the mermaid there’s also a very nice park with amazing statues and church! there are a lot of people coming there for pictures so be prepared if you come in the afternoon!
Hamy N — Google review
Free activity - a little underwhelming to be honest, it’s also quite far out to the north of the city. If you on a tight schedule probably better to skip but if you have plenty of time & love the Hans Christian Andersen stories then pop past for a photo - there are actually some beautiful sights near the little mermaid which you can enjoy

Amalienborg Palace, an exquisite 18th-century rococo complex in Copenhagen, serves as the winter residence for the Danish monarchy. This remarkable ensemble consists of four distinct palaces—Brockdorfske, Levetzaus, Moltkes, and Schackske—each showcasing stunning architecture and rich history. Surrounding a grand plaza, these palatial structures were adopted by the royal family in 1794 after a devastating fire at Christiansborg Castle.
Visited Amalienborg Palace on a rainy Sunday 🇩🇰. It’s famous for the Changing of the Guard ceremony that starts sharp at 12 noon and lasts about 30 minutes ⏰. Even with the rain, the square was fully packed! If you want a front-row view, reach by 11:45. For us, it was an okay experience — interesting to watch just once.
YG T — Google review
I had the pleasure of visiting this magnificent palace, and it truly felt like stepping back in time into a world of royalty. The interiors are grand and beautifully preserved, with multiple sections showcasing how the royals once lived. From the opulent living quarters and lavish dining halls to the intricately designed courtyards, every corner tells a story of elegance and power. What stood out to me most was the attention to detail—exquisite furniture, ornate chandeliers, and priceless artifacts that reflect a royal lifestyle at its peak. The guided displays made it easy to understand the history and appreciate the traditions behind each room. Walking through the palace, I could almost imagine the grandeur of royal gatherings and ceremonies that once filled these halls. Overall, it’s a place where history and beauty come together perfectly. If you want to experience the charm of a royal lifestyle, this palace is a must-visit.
Divyansh C — Google review
We came here with the intention of observing the Changing of the Guards. It starts at 12, so try to be there at 11:30 for a better stand spot. Because lots and lots of people come to see this. Bring hat and sunglasses during summer season. If you are interested in these come otherwise enjoy the castle. You have to buy tickets for the castle and check timing.
Tas A — Google review
Truely amazing.. i had visited Amelienborg palace with my family in the month of May.. just was spell bound by the beauty and architectural marvel of the same. The whole palace was worth watching again and again from each and every angle. As we had visited on a weekend there was really a big crowd which really added to the enrichment of the ambience.. We had planned to reach there to watch the famous change of guard event. It was so awesome.. even though it is something that happens on a daily basis but the accuracy and precision of the event is something to adore for.. From accessibility perspective we have the well established punlic transportation of Copenhagen.. A must watch if you are visiting Copenhagen..

Go at 11:30am to get a good view of the changing of the guard. They push everyone back behind the black lines of the quad closest to the brown doors/left of the entry pillars if you want a good view, but the guards do a march around the while Palace eventually. We also saw the marching band through the town which was cool!

Amalienborg Palace square, Copenhagen, Denmark. This complex has four elegant, Rococo style palaces that surround an octagonal central courtyard. It is close to the Nyhavn Harbour and the Marble Church. Some parts of the complex like the Amalienborg Museum or the Christian VIII's Palace, are open to public (unfortunately, due to lack of time, we could not get into the museum). The daily change of Royal guard ceremony also takes place in the square. The central figure of the square is a large bronze statue of King Frederick V, unveiled in 1771, symbolizing the complete power of the king. Frederik's Church or Marble Church, with its copper green dome serves as the official residence of the Danish Royal family. It lies in alignment with the main Palace and the Copenhagen Opera House. The architectural details of these buildings are clear, well maintained and a wonderful sight to behold. One can actually walk around the square and revel the beauty of these structures, our group did just that during the month of July 2025.
Neeru D — Google review
Beautiful space with a majestic architectures! These majors landscapes can be seen just around the square; Frederick Kirke, Aleksander Nevskij Kirke, Det Kongelige Teater Operaen. Just a great space to walk around and admire the landscape 🏛️🕌⛪🕍🛕

If you’re in Copenhagen, Amalienborg is a must-visit. This beautiful palace showcases the rich history, details, and artifacts of the Danish royal family. One of the highlights is the changing of the guard, which takes place daily at 12 pm and is a wonderful experience to witness. There’s no entry fee. Walk around the palace square, since the surroundings are equally charming.

Looks exactly like all the photos, lovely area either beautiful danish houses, boutiques and souvenirs. There are nice canal side restaurants, boat rest aired, public benches and live buskers all around so you can do a lot without spending much. Careful not to get run over by bikes!

A very pleasant and lively area. A boat tour is recommended. You can see many places in an hour. I think there are two boat tours. One is very cheap. You should ask about the difference and choose accordingly.

Visited Nyhavn over the weekend and absolutely loved it! 🌈 The colorful houses along the canal look stunning, especially on a sunny day ☀️. Tip: for the best photo, click from the opposite side of the canal 📸. Lined with cozy cafes and restaurants, it’s a perfect place to relax, enjoy a meal, and soak in the cheerful Copenhagen vibes 🇩🇰.
YG T — Google review
Nice view to take pictures. Both side of the canal has dozens of shops to hang out and buy souvenirs. All are expensive then what is priced outside of this zone. There is a big obnoxious ship in the canal and it is hard to take a nice reflective photo with the colorful buildings. That is why I personally like the one in Trondheim Norway.
Tas A — Google review
Lively waterfront with many restaurants! I love the atmosphere but it was very crowded at the same time. We had a Thai food at Charm restaurant close by for dinner and the ice cream for dessert just across the road from Vaffelbageren Nyhavn. It's definitely a lovely place to walk around and soak up the vibe!

Sights & Landmarks
The Church of Our Saviour is a stunning 17th-century Baroque place of worship located in Copenhagen. Its impressive Dutch Baroque architecture features a golden spire and a singing bell tower, adorned with vibrant red and yellow tiles. The church offers one of the best viewpoints in the city, with outstanding panoramic views from the top of its spire. Visitors can embark on an exciting excursion by climbing narrow winding stairs to reach the summit, where they can enjoy breathtaking vistas across Copenhagen.
The Church of Our Saviour is one of Copenhagen’s most famous landmarks and a must-visit if you enjoy history, architecture, and incredible city views. The church itself is beautiful, with a striking baroque interior, but the real highlight is climbing the tower. The spiral staircase on the outside of the spire takes you up high above the city, and the views from the top are absolutely stunning, stretching across Copenhagen and even out to Sweden on a clear day. The climb is steep and narrow in places, and the final stretch on the outside can feel a bit dizzying if you’re not great with heights, but the reward at the top is well worth the effort. It’s best to go on a clear day to really appreciate the panoramic view. The tower can get busy, so going early or outside peak hours makes the experience more enjoyable. Overall, the Church of Our Saviour is an unforgettable stop in Copenhagen. Whether for its history, its unique architecture, or the breathtaking views from the tower, it’s an experience that leaves a lasting impression.
R — Google review
Absolutely breathtaking experience! The Church of Our Saviour is not only a beautiful piece of architecture, but also offers one of the very best views of Copenhagen. The spiral staircase up the tower is a little challenging, but that only makes reaching the top more rewarding. Standing outside on the winding staircase with the city right beneath your feet feels magical. You can see all of Copenhagen – from the canals and colorful houses to the modern skyline. Totally worth the climb, and a must-visit spot if you want a unique perspective of the city!
Kalina M — Google review
Beautiful place! Climbing to the top and amdiring views of the city is one of the nicest experiences in Copenhagen. Important note - there is not only a lot of stairs to the top, but in some moments it's narrow and steep stairs. So it's not so easy to get there, but really worth to visit.
Patrycja Z — Google review
If you see one place for free in Copenhagen, see this church. It's spectacular! If you pay for one sight, pay for the ticket to climb the tower. The views are, quite simply, breathtaking. Outstanding 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
David G — Google review
The church is impressive! Did like it from the outside better than from the inside. There is a movie that is shown and it was disappointing that it was only in Danish. I mean with so many tourists please put English subtitles on. The tower is very impressive and the view real beautiful. But please don’t go up if you have vertigo as it is very high AND NARROW. I did expect some kind of platform on the top but the stairs just got more narrow and more narrow and ended at some point. A bit weird to be honest. For what it is I would say it’s not worth your money. If you have to pay please make it better and also the number of people should be less for one time slot. It’s quite hard to cross paths on those narrow and steep stairs. I do give it 4 stars as it is quite unique!
Tiffany — Google review
I visited only the tower... What a view - just make sure you don't suffer from vertigo and can move agile... The view is spectacular but it's really narrow up there. You might wanna go for sunset. We didn't have wind when I was there but I assume once there is... It's not very hygge...
Sarah J — Google review
The Church of Our Saviour is a stunning Baroque landmark from the 17th century. Its most famous feature is the spiral tower with an external staircase, offering breathtaking views over Copenhagen. Inside, you’ll find a beautiful altar and an impressive organ. At 12:00, there is a live organ performance that lasts for about 30 minutes, creating a truly unique atmosphere. A must-visit for history, architecture, and the unforgettable experience of climbing the spire.
Nataliia H — Google review
Church of Our Saviour – Copenhagen A stunning baroque church with one of the best panoramic views in Copenhagen. The highlight is the climb to the top via a unique external spiral staircase—fun and adventurous, but not for the faint-hearted. With over 400 steps, it’s a bit of a workout, and the narrow, winding paths can be challenging for anyone with vertigo. Entry costs €8, and it's well worth it for the view alone.

St. Mary's Church, Rostock

Sights & Landmarks
St. Mary's Church, also known as Marienkirche, is a significant landmark in Rostock, Germany. This Gothic church, dating back to the 13th century, boasts an array of treasures within its ancient brick walls. Visitors can marvel at the artfully crafted wooden altar, a massive stained glass window depicting The Day of Judgement, a Renaissance pulpit from 1574, and a bronze Baptismal font from 1290.
Beautiful church with stunning exterior as well as interior. It really feels like this church shows how strong Rostock was back in the days. If you are a student, you only pay 2 euros for the entrance fee. It’s a neat church overall, but the astrological clock inside is amazing. It really makes you wonder how people of the past could come up with the idea of creating it.

St. Mary's Church is the largest church in Rostock, Germany. I love its red brick Gothic architecture! It really stands out from all angles in the city!! I was looking forward to seeing its astronomical clock that I had heard about. Unfortunately, even though it said it was supposed to be open on the website, sadly, it wasn't. We walked around the entire building several times to try to find an open door, but no luck.

Fantastic church there is a small fee to enter , but it is well worth it. If you can get there for around midday to see the medieval clock play it is well worth it (can be found behind the altar) . There are lots of tombs and an amazingly decorated organ. Well worth a visit

Came here to Costal Germany: St. Mary's Church (Marienkirche), Rostock Location: The church is located in the city center (Stadtmitte) of Rostock. Address: Its address is typically listed as Bei der Marienkirche 3, 18055 Rostock, Germany. It is easily recognizable by its towering, massive brick structure and the specific color pattern on the tower (alternating dark/green-glazed and red unglazed bricks, particularly visible on the sides of the transept and tower), which is characteristic of the building's various construction phases. The St. Mary's Church is famous for being the largest church in Rostock and for housing a magnificent, functional medieval astronomical clock dating from 1472.

This church is very special! Highly recommended. There are some decorations related to the characteristics of this city: harbour. In addition, the astronomical clock is also amazing. It has worked for more than 500 years and provides a lot of calendar/astronomical information. I like this clock more than the one in Prague. After visiting this church, I donated some money because I hope that anything in church can be maintained in a good condition.

This zoo has a great breeding program that is extremely successful as most of the enclosures had a baby in there. If I could give it more stars I would. The cost was good value for money. I am visiting the N.E. German Baltic Coast from my hometown of San Francisco California and I drove over to Kühlungsborn to visit the Border Tower Museum. What a great exhibition of education that explains life during the division of Germany. The exhibit is also a testimony of life in the GDR. The Tower Museum has a sandwich board with names of individuals who were documented escapee's. The museum is split between the tower and the building. If you are in the area, I recommend a visit. Thanks to the curators and caretakers of the museum.

A chilling reminder of a less forgiving time where the west and east were divided, a Cold War watchtower with a history of those that tried to make there way to the west….. worth a visit. 78 years go, after several months imprisoned in Ravensbrück, my grand-mother was delivered by the Red Army in April 1945. As a member of the French Resistance, she was denounced and deported to this concentration camp. In January 1939, Himmler let build up the Ravensbrück concentration camp in Brandenburg, North of Berlin, the only camp for women. The first inmates - German and Austrian women - arrived in May 1939. Some 130,000 prisoners, mostly women but also men and children, were imprisoned in Ravensbrück. In six years, Ravensbrück was transformed into a vast concentration camp complex, surrounded by satellites (kommandos) serving the German industry. The inmates were forced to work more than twelve hours a day, punctuated by dawn and evening calls, to develop and maintain the site; they served as slave labor in the sewing workshops and electrical assembly industries such as Siemens and Halske, as well as in the arms industries such as Heinkel, BMW, Mercedes and Skoda. Some were subjected to the medical experiments of Dr. Karl Gebhardt. Polish girls, nicknamed "rabbits" and political prisoners NN, Nacht und Nebel. They were subjected to sterilization experiments, muscle and bone transplants... After such a "nerve-wracking experience", my grand-mother passed her grand-children the following message: "There is no foreigner on this planet 🌍. ☮️ Peace can not be kept by force. Everyone shall contribute to achieve it by understanding" What a heritage from such a woman 👩 who survived this part of History.

The place must be visited, and it's inspiring. The courage of people... Unbelievable. The problem is the lack of information displayed in English.

Lovely spa and wellness centre, set on the shore of a lake, a beautiful setting. One of the highlights is the "Seesauna", where you can look out onto the lake while sweating in 80°C heat - and dip in the cold lake water afterwards, if you like. There are other saunas, too, plus steam bath etc, as well as salt pools and a larger pool for swimming.

Nice Therme with 4 Saunas, a quiet area which I didn't like because it was rather uncomfy with cheap blankets and a bad smell. Beds were also not supporting relaxation in the lake sauna. The library relaxation area is a little nicer but too small. In the lake sauna, you probably always find a seat because it's huge, and you have a nice view over the lake with the possibility to walk directly into the lake after the sauna visit. Especially during winter, quiet refreshing. The other area with the Saunas was good. Here, you have a live infusion, whereas in the lake sauna, it's automatic. There is also an ice area and two walk through showers for gold and hot water. The pools for my liking where all too cold and I didn't spend a minute in there. Overall a nice experience but there is potential to make it even nicer and a little more comfy.

Overall very underwhelming. Kitchen closes at 7pm, food is very expensive and of low quality. The only thing that is enjoyable is the lake sauna. Rather go to Vabali in Berlin for an experience 10 times as good at the same price. Terrible lighting concept, no customer experience design.

Great idea to escape busy Berlin for a day and just relax. Easily reachable by public transportation, the train station is just 10 minutes away walking so don't be afraid to go without a car. All facilities are very nice, pool and sauna and steam baths are the best and the bistro is totally worth it!

A bit further out from Berlin, so I can not get there as often as I would like. It would be great to go once a week and discover everything that they have to offer. The saunas are my favorite, such a nice mix of options and many great programs at regular intervals.

This place is a great place to relax. You can reach the place quite easily with the train and a short walk. I s there during Easter and while it was running at full capacity, it still felt quite empty so that relaxing was actually possible. This is really a highlight since in the other options in Berlin like Vabali or Liquidrom you feel like sardines packed in a can. The employees are really friendly and try their best to make your stay pleasant. Food options in the Therme itself were very limited and overpriced, but options in the hotel annexed are okay. Overall, great experience.

Very relaxing place, with various saunas and pools to choose from. I was here mid March but the cold did not matter in the warm pool outside, under the full moon. I have enjoyed it a lot and plan to go back as soon as possible.

The worst experience ever! The receptionist was rude and disrespectful. We only took 3 bathrobe sets but she entered 2 more into the bill without our consent. They refused to do anything when we asked for a correction, and fooled us to pay the whole amount by promising return the overpaid items to our bank account. The next day they changed their mind, said the only offer they can provide is two free sets for our next visit. How can we still trust such a company who lied and even stole from customers? Of course we won’t visit again! If you expect rudeness and arrogance, that would the a suitable place to go!

Sachsenhausen Memorial & Museum

Museum
Sights & Landmarks
The Memorial and Museum Sachsenhausen is a powerful site that serves as a reminder of the atrocities committed during the Nazi regime. Visitors can explore the camp at their own pace, with guided tours available for deeper insight. The museum houses numerous artifacts, descriptions, and first-hand accounts that shed light on the horrors that took place there. Audio guides are recommended for a more comprehensive experience. While some parts of the camp have deteriorated over time, the sheer scale of the site is awe-inspiring.
One of the best I have been to. With the audio guide and information boards you can really get a feel of what was happening here over the 30 to 60 time period

It was very informative with a cheap audio guide (roughly €3. 50). Entry is free. It's not very easy to find your way there if you're using public transport. Google Maps took us in via an office complex and police headquarters (the old SS training camp, I believe). It's got a lot of information in the different rooms with a lot of reading, although plenty of different languages are catered for. A lot of the main areas to visit have been restored or rebuilt and it's hard to gauge the conditions of the time. It does seem to be a work in progress to restore everything and add extra sections. Some of the interactive exhibits didn't seem to work which would be troublesome for those who needed audio guidance. The computers we were using at one point just all turned off. I would recommend it but it needs a full day and plenty of energy for all of the walking and some stamina for the reading. I think they offer guided tours but I'm not certain.

This is an amazing place and a must see. Its part of our world's history. The Nazis were so cruel. I was so upset when I visited today at the hurt and pain the Jews suffered in the concentration camps. May they all rest in peace now.

A profoundly moving and essential memorial. The Sachsenhausen Memorial & Museum is thoughtfully curated, offering deep insight into both the Nazi concentration camp and post-war Soviet use. The exhibitions, preserved buildings, and memorials are powerful and respectful. A must-visit for anyone seeking to understand this history.

Ok visit, but not that many original details still there which makes it more difficult to grasp the extent of the horror, especially for our teens. I don't want to say it's necessary to have the horrific details around, but to me it does bring a tangible message across for next generations, to make sure it never happens again.

It is a really good place to go and learn about our past and to educate ourselves. Admission and audio guide are free.

We did this tour when we visited Berlin for a few days in March. As a history lover this was right up my street. We did this with a guide Campbell who was very knowledgeable. The tour itself was very informative, with a range of information boards and material to read through at your leisure. Very moving place to visit. Would recommend a visit if you enjoy history

Olympiastadion Berlin

Arenas & Stadiums
Olympiastadion Berlin, originally constructed for the 1936 Olympics during Adolf Hitler's reign, is Germany's largest stadium with a capacity of 74,649 seats. The venue retains its original architectural style, featuring imposing columns made from stones brought from the Alps. After much debate about its preservation, the stadium underwent renovations in 2004 and now hosts major sporting events and concerts.
Magnificent edifice of a stadium retaining some of the 1930s original design. Sprawling over a large area incorporating hockey, football and swimming as well as the athletics facilities inside the stadium, the site needs a while to take in, but it is a fantastic place to visit. You are allowed to roam around the complex and there is a restaurant and toilets on site.
Ivor C — Google review
I signed up for the guided tour of the stadium. The staff were very welcoming and the guide was talking in both English and German. The tour was a very informative one and the best one I have had for a stadium so far. Not only were we told interesting facts about the stadium, but we were also told about the history behind it. The stadium is far away from the city centre, although a long journey, you can reach without any issues by public trains. Highly recommended!

We had a great visit here, it wasn't crowded at all, so we could take our time exploring. The stadium is massive, clean, and well-kept. We barely saw any staff that day, probably because nothing was happening. The weather was awesome too, with sunshine in the stadium. We're short on time, so we couldn't see everything.

What an incredible place to watch an NFL game. It's not the best stadium for tech or anything with no TVs around minus the three jumbotrons in the stadium. But... It doesn't matter. It's a stunning piece of history and it's wild to think Jesse Owens won 4 gold medals in the same stadium. Really amazing stadium!

Good place to visit. Not to exciting but impressive. Was quiet. I only walked around the main stadium. $11 Did not join their tour, extra $ Half hour train ride from Central Station, no transfers.
Ken M — Google review
I went with the guided tour. The guide was a very sympathetic British man. He was very good, knew everything about the club and the stadium. The stadium itself is extraordinary, very very big and just amazing. I would recommend every football fan to visit this place!

Attended the Colts vs Falcons in Berlin. Great game, it went into overtime. Great stadium with great view and food. I love the NFL representation of both countries.

Fabulous stadium, lovingly modernised. Great grounds and good beer, not great food. Well done to the Berlin ultras for keeping the noise while the the lost. Great visits.
