(Translated by Google) A beautiful place for those of us who like history and old buildings. Unfortunately it is very abandoned and completely vandalized, but it is nice to walk through and imagine what it was like in its splendor. I give it 5 stars because the truth is it is tremendous and very impressive, but it shows that it is very neglected.

(Translated by Google) I would give it 5 stars if the place was taken care of. It is abandoned and vadalized. The architecture of the building is beautiful. The road to get there is dirt with some pebbles. For those of us who like to visit towns and see places, it is a very interesting place. In particular, I was fascinated imagining what that place was like at the time of the inauguration and what it would be like if it were taken care of.

(Translated by Google) It is a shame that this place is so abandoned that it is obvious that it was imposing. Its walls still preserve the beauty of its past along with its highly fused architecture. I liked getting to know it, as well as the town of Egaña (approximately 30 inhabitants). I hope that in the future someone can put it in better conditions, charge an affordable entrance fee and be able to take advantage of such an impressive work. (Translated by Google) The castle is truly imposing. Beautiful. It's a shame about the state it's in. Irrecoverable. What I do see in the photos is that before at least someone was in charge of weeding. Today (January 25) it is all covered with grasslands. You can't go for a picnic/picnic day, for example. a pity (Original) El castillo es realmente imponente. Hermoso. Una pena el estado en que está. Irrecuperable.

(Translated by Google) Magical place but it hurts to see such historical heritage in ruins, it is so beautiful, I can't imagine if they would value it, we are a country that does not give importance to architecture, which is part of our history and it hurts. Estancia La Candelaria

Mentioned on
1 list
Serviced accommodation
Sights & Landmarks
Estancia La Candelaria del Monte is an upscale castle hotel that offers a unique immersion into the Argentine rural lifestyle. Located in San Miguel del Monte, Buenos Aires Province, this historic estancia provides a tranquil and elegant retreat amidst picturesque landscapes. Guests can unwind, connect with nature, and partake in traditional Argentine countryside activities. The heart of the experience revolves around the revered Argentine asado, a culinary ritual deeply rooted in history and tradition.
I’d give this place 6 stars if I could. The grounds are absolutely stunning and there’s a great mix of guided activities (empanada & mate demos, walking tour, horse demo, etc) and self-paced things (swimming, hiking, etc.). You need to rent a car to get out here but it’s so worth it - and the drive from downtown BA is straightforward. I’m gluten free and the staff was incredibly accommodating - I never had to miss out on a meal/snack or given a crappy alternative. We speak enough Spanish that that’s the language we used the whole time here and it’s worth noting that everyone else there that day was Argentine (nice that there aren’t a bunch of big tour buses), but all of our email comms back and worth were in English so I think you’d be fine if you didn’t speak Spanish.
Rachel M — Google review
The place is beautiful and amenities are amazing. But!!! Everything that starts from interaction with staff members who are responsible for any type of administrative tasks is horrible not the less. To make a reservation - took us two weeks of constant conversations. They just ignore you for days and a simple conversation to know what are the availabilities took them a week to give us a complete answer. We tried to do a reservation over the phone- they just say it’s impossible and we have to use WhatsApp. After they were not available on the phone just for simple follow ups. To pay the reservation is a lengthy two steps process and took them two days to complete. To check in - the person at the desk technically has a memory of a fish. He forgets about you a minute you leave his sight. We Had to go back 3 times to talk to him before we got our room ready. And we had a child with us. So it was very unpleasant experience to go back to and ask for the same thing 3 times. We came here second time as we really love the nature and atmosphere here. But unfortunately lack of professionalism makes our stay less pleasant already for a second time. We hoped something will change for our second stay but it changed for the worse not better.
Aida D — Google review
Pros: One of the best places I've ever been in my life!! The castle was so beautiful, our room had a balcony and it was amazing! Also there was a great schedule of activities all day long like empanadas + wine tasting, a tour around the estate, lunch with a show, yerba mate tasting, ghost stories, etc. Also the food was absolutely amazing, I never expected a remote estate like this to have a really wide selection of amazing dishes!! Everything from snacks to lunch to dinner to dessert was amazing, their chef is insanely talented! Cons: Lots and lots of mosquitos. Definitely bring bug spray. We had to buy some in the store. And there were a lot of bugs around the outdoor pool which made me and my girlfriend uncomfortable swimming there. 5/5, my favorite experience in Argentina and one of the best of my life!!!

We enjoyed our stay for the carnaval long weekend. We were in the suite real which was nice. I thought some of the space could be used better with a comfortable couch to sit on, but understand they are trying to use period furniture. The bathroom could also use an upgrade, but it was ok. Overall a good time especially for the price. The carnaval party/dinner was really cool with great entertainment. Massages were really good. Lots of fun activities related to wellness.
Andrew W — Google review
Beautiful property, good food and friendly staff. We booked a colonial (family) room which does not at all compare with the charming room sold on the website. The bathroom is in desperate need for reservation, the toilet seat damaged and mold on the ceiling and it was poorly cleaned. At USD 500 a night for a hostel type room that was not clean we decided to leave after one night, as the alternative 3 rooms shown were in similar condition.
Gian B — Google review
Nice place, but be careful, almost non existent wifi in bedrooms and very unreliable in common areas. In winter there is practically no hot water and very low pressure. I wouldn’t recommend to stay for more 1-2 nights at most.

(Translated by Google) I visited the Castle today and I was fascinated. I read many reviews that criticize the deterioration of the place, but I want to provide another perspective. It is true that some parts of the castle show the passage of time, but that is also part of its history, of the generations that inhabited it and of everything that this house experienced. It is not easy to maintain a construction of such age, much less when the galleries are made of wood, a noble material but sensitive to the climate and the passage of time. Instead of seeing it as abandonment, I saw it as a sign of authenticity! The castle is still beautiful, imposing and full of history, and that is what I valued most about the experience, with a guide (Mariano) who told the story in an incredible way: clearly, passionately and with great respect for the facts and the place. It certainly made the visit even more special. 👏👏👏

Such a pretty mall, especially in the evening. I arrived late at night. I was staying in the hotel there. Most of the shops were closed but the restaurants were open. I had a walk around. It was so pretty and cute. I had dinner at an Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, I was only there one night in transit and my flight was early the next morning, so I couldn't see more of it.

Is the first time I went there. The reason is that I arrived from a domestic flight and had to get an international next day, therefore I lodged in the Plaza Canning Hotel and I was surprised for the number and quality of shops and restaurants. Great place to stay for a short stay. May be more, but I don't know.

Great hotel. Bed was very comfortable and the pillows were some of the best I have ever used. The lift is annoyingly slow. And the room had a mini kitchenette, but nothing in it to make it useful. The location is pretty good, surround by a mall with a lot of eating options. My flight was very early, so didn't get to try the breakfast. I was a bit surprised that they didn't offer a breakfast box like a lot of other hotels do if you have an early departure. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.

Bridge
Sights & Landmarks
Puente de la Mujer, a 160-meter-long pedestrian suspension swing bridge in Buenos Aires' Puerto Madero neighborhood, stands out with its sleek and futuristic design by architect Santiago Calatrava. This rotating footbridge reflects the city's dedication to its thriving art scene. The area also serves as a departure point for day trips to Colonia del Sacramento, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
An interesting and highly unique bridge with interesting architectural features. Not sure how much the beam lends itself to supporting the bridge, but it makes for a lovely feature along the river. Early in the morning you can get some lovely pictures. Its also a good starting point to explore the city, though this seems to be a very popular location in the evenings. Well worth a visit.
Andy S — Google review
This "Woman's Bridge" is a rotating footbridge at Puerto Madero commercial district of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is of the cantilever spar cable-stayed bridge type and is also a swing bridge, but somewhat unusual arrangement. The architect has described the design as representing the image of a couple dancing the tango. Popular place with tourists walking across it. Lots of people here, careful with personal belongings. Wear comfy shoes, take water, wear hat, sunscreen. Free entry. Beautiful place. Lots to see. Toilets available. Cafes and restaurants available.

Puente de la Mujer in Buenos Aires is absolutely stunning, especially at night when it’s beautifully illuminated. It really leaves an impression – a true masterpiece of modern architecture. Elegant, sleek, and symbolic, it’s one of the city’s most iconic landmarks and definitely worth seeing in person.

This is me and my mom’s favorite place!! We went there the first weekend we were in Argentina. It was really funn, there was a small disco place as well. At night it was really pretty, they put music everywhere, bars, shops, and restaurants. At the afternoon it was adorable, just watching the sunset with a cup of coffee was literal therapy. They have many different restaurants and bars. I definitely recommend going there 10/10 experience. Get a friend because you can’t drink alone 🤷‍♀️😉

Very nice shopping place, also with a good Carrefour grocery

Useful. I dislike this post of the city mainly designed for cars traveling along motorways, but you have to buy staff somewhere if you're near there. It is good that it is partially open, unless it is resuming. Hard to find a place to park.
Campe C — Google review
An open-air mall with a bit of everything … upmarket outlets from clothing to coffee shops; parking can be a hassle, but access to and from the Panamericana is great. I prefer shopping here than at Las Palmas o Torres del Sol.

Las Palmas del Pilar

Shopping mall
Shopping
Gift & Specialty Shops
Las Palmas del Pilar, an upscale shopping center established in 1998, boasts a wide range of renowned retailers, dining options, entertainment facilities for children, and a cinema. One notable aspect is its open-air design; however, this reliance on weather conditions can be problematic. Nevertheless, the mall offers diverse shops with high-quality products as well as various restaurants to cater to different preferences.
Great place to shop, eat, and walk around. Clean, well-maintained, and with a nice variety of stores. Pro tip: Tell your partner you're ‘just looking’… and get ready to leave with bags. Wallet Warning!

It's ok. But sometimes the escalators are broken for weeks, water leaks from the ceilings. It needs more attention to the worn out and broken things

Jumbo here has a great selection of wines and meats. Not for the frugal shopper.

Nice place to expand the day, lots of shops, few fast foods and a cinema, ideal for nice days and really not for rainy days. There is an ibis hotel right in front if you want to stay the night, and the cinema is not enormous but good enough for a good shopping cinema hotel combo.
Diego M — Google review
It is a nice shopping mall and very good for the kids. The problem is that everything is outdoor and all depend of the weather conditions. There are good variety of shops, products and also restaurants to choose. If weather conditions are appropriate, this is a very nice place to hang out.

Everything you need, only downside is Easy, it is always crowded and they usually have few cashiers open, a terrible wait every time. Often I just give up, put my basket to the side and leave without buying.
Zachary S — Google review
Big shopping with supermarket, cinema, restaurants, kids places and clothes stores. A lot of green spaces and playground for children. Wheelchair entrances and parking and elevators all along the shopping. Perfect place to have a nice afternoon.
Alfonsina F — Google review
A wide open spaces with enough brands. Up. Good for summer shopping. Down. There are not direct communication pass ways between some areas.

It’s a convenient place to go for a quick dinner and a good ice cream. The pharmacy in the place is excellent. The place is under construction in many areas, being the parking lot the best of the complex

(Translated by Google) A small shopping center but with an excellent gastronomic offer, a variety of proposals in large individual spaces with access to a central square. On the commercial side it doesn't have much to offer, it is a somewhat old-fashioned structure with little lighting. Fashion, decoration, technology, bookstore, sports, pet shop are some of the items that can be found although many of their stores are empty.

Movie theater
Fun & Games
Cinépolis is a premier movie theater chain that truly elevates the cinema experience with its cutting-edge sound and projection technology. Visitors rave about the cleanliness and organization of the venue, from comfortable screening rooms to well-maintained restrooms. The candy bar offers a delightful selection of snacks, including their famous popcorn, which you can enjoy at a discount when purchasing combo deals. On Wednesdays, ticket prices are slashed by 50%, making it an ideal day for movie lovers to catch up on films.
Good overall experience.

This place was clean and nice to waste your time watching cinema meanwhile you can eat popcorn with cola. And then you have many options to visit mc donalds, bingo oasis or grilled meat.

My favourite cinema in town
Valentina B — Google review
Definitely my favourite cinema. Very clean and organised, the rooms are clean and comfortable as well as the bathrooms. They have a candy bar and delicious popcorn. After you buy a ticket they give you a 2x1 coupon and a 20% discount on your popcorn and drinks combo. And just like in every other cinema, the tickets are 50% off on Wednesdays. They also have an arcade inside with Guitar Hero, which is always a plus. The arcade is quite pricey though.
Anabell S — Google review
Greta screen, a great variety of snacks, the bathrooms where acceptable and the connection to playland made me go there after watching a film. The near McDonalds was really convenient as the freddo, just the best.
