The hiking tour is nice but the price is ridiculous : R$ 900 for 2 adults and 2 kids. This includes the (forgettable) lunch but does not include the guide you must pay separetely! Despite this extremely high price, the owner apparently can't afford a decent equipment since the bus is falling to pieces. Go the national Park instead!!!
Kev G — Google review
This is a really interesting private venture with beautiful sandstone caves and well-preserved cerrado, the highly endangered local vegetation. It's very well managed and organized, and the full package includes an excellent lunch. Jota, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and helpful, and we appreciated his patience with our terrible Portuguese. Note that we arrived without an outside guide, since you have to hire one of the local guides on site anyway. An outside guide may only be necessary for transportation to the site, and/or for translation. As others have noted, it is expensive, but we thought considering the professionalism and quality of the services, and the area's natural beauty, it was well worth the visit.

(Translated by Google) Positive Points: Very well-prepared and well-served lunch. Well-maintained and accessible trails. Beautiful waterfalls in the first section. Nothing special in the second section, just cascades and a small natural pool with a deck. Cons: Distance from the city: 60 km, 15 km of which are on dirt roads; high entrance fee (100.00); very short circuit, could explore more. There are other waterfalls that could make the circuit more worthwhile. Most negative point: There is a fee of 40.00 to access the first part by car. First: it is completely unnecessary to use a car. You can easily do it on foot (unless you have a mobility problem). Second: I could not see any justification for this fee. It is 2 km from the house to the start of the trail and then you have to go back 2 km to the house again, done by the tourist's car, and the second section on foot is very close to the house. But anyway, as the guide "politely" said: "the owner makes the rules, period!". In short: High cost-benefit for an extremely simple trail. But that's just my point of view. Prices: 100.00 entrance fee, 130.00 guide, 55.00 lunch, 55.00 gas allowance (I joined a tourist and the guide in the tourist's car). Note: The tourist I mentioned above paid 180.00 for the guide and took her car, plus other fees that I paid. (Original) Pontos Positivos: Almoço muito caprichado e bem servido. Trilhas bem cuidadas e bem acessíveis. Cachoeiras bonitas no primeiro trecho.

(Translated by Google) SEP/23: 8 waterfalls, 7 for swimming. There are 2 circuits, each with 4 waterfalls, but only the 4 largest are worth it. The other 4 are more for selling the tour. There is a small natural pool that looks a lot like a heart, really cool for photos. To make the most of your time, I recommend the option of going by car to the point closest to the start of the trail ($30 extra). Access is via asphalt (25 min) and dirt (45 min). There is almost no signage, so a guide is necessary. Entrance fee includes lunch. Acesso asfalto (25 min) e terra (45 min). Quase não há sinalização, então Necessário guia. Taxa de entrada inclui almoço. (SET/23)

(Translated by Google) This Araras beach is very beautiful, with restaurants on site, lifeguards, and camping for those interested. Access to this beach is not so good, and those who have a car will find it easier to get to the beach. However, for those who have a motorcycle, it is not so good because the road is dirt and has a lot of rocks and soft soil, which makes the motorcycle slide more easily. However, if you are careful and drive slowly, you can get there.

(Translated by Google) The waterfall is beautiful, as is the entire trail of the Avoadeira stream waterfall circuit. Excellent for observing fauna and flora, the entire trail is within the Serra Azul State Park, managed by the Mato Grosso State Department of the Environment. Despite being in a Fully Protected Conservation Unit, the behavior of users is deplorable. Trash, drugs, loud music, disrespect for nature and other visitors. The trail is short, but quite demanding in some spots. It should not be done without prior preparation and without appropriate clothing.

(Translated by Google) The Usina waterfall is one of the coldest I've ever visited, it's delicious! The water almost makes your body go numb. Unfortunately, on my last visit, despite the signs saying that no car music is allowed, some groups brought JBL speakers and it turned into a boring competition to see who plays the loudest music. Other than that, the place is beautiful and delicious for those looking for a waterfall on a hot Sunday. A água quase deixa o corpo dormente.

(Translated by Google) Don't go if you have physical difficulties. The difficulty level is medium to heavy. Most of the trail is in the sun. Both the asphalt section, the dirt road and the waterfall trail. It could be better marked. There are signs dividing the trail into areas, when there should also be signs with names at the waterfalls, to help visitors find their way around the trail. We did the asphalt and dirt sections, passing by the Visitor Center, the discoport and the waterfall trail, and exiting at the Cachoeira da Usina club. All on foot. Not by choice, but because they wouldn't let us drive up to the Visitor Center under the excuse that they had machines to repair the road, but there weren't any, on a Monday, August 29th. The road is great, both the asphalt and the dirt road. We didn't see anything that needed work. We spent 5 and a half hours and only got to swim in 2 of the many waterfalls of the Rio Avoador, under a scorching 40-degree sun. We started the trail at 8:45. We didn't do the stretch to the Christ and went straight to the waterfalls trail. Anyway, as for the state park, we've seen better ones, considering the signage, such as in Espírito Santo, SP and MG. For example, there should be signs at the beginning of the trails indicating the level of difficulty and average trail time, not just kilometers. Most of the waterfalls trail is not recommended for those who don't go to the gym regularly, or for those with heart disease, knee disease or diabetes. I don't recommend it. There are stretches where the trail is narrow, with cliffs that are easy to fall off. It requires concentration. There are almost stone steps between waterfalls, on the waterfalls trail. On the positive side, there is drinking water at each entrance to the park and the staff is attentive to visitors. Going in the dry season, with temperatures over 35 degrees, take a hearty snack. Sandwiches, fruits, nuts, juice. Add eggs and chicken or tuna. Lots and lots of water is very important. I think we drank almost 2 liters per person and I felt dehydrated. My husband and I work out every day and are very used to hiking. Even so, we suffered under the extremely hot sun. It was very exhausting. Children, no way. We arrived at the Cachoeira da Usina at 2 pm. We ordered a motorcycle taxi thanks to a man who oversees the waterfall and the club at the power plant. It cost 10 reais to the Panelão restaurant, which was luckily still open at 2:30 pm. Be prepared. I think our biggest mistake was going during the dry season. It was very hot and the pools at the waterfalls had little water. Tudo a pé .

(Translated by Google) Ahh, how can we talk about Barra and not mention Porto do Bae?! I like this place, both day and night. The acoustic shell hosts concerts, events, meetings, and city programs, and it is also a beautiful building. What to do for the day (preferably after 4:30 p.m.): walk along the sidewalk in the parking lot and follow the riverbank to where the boat dock ramp is. On the other side of the ramp, there are some huge stairs that are great for sitting and watching the river, just watching it, and also watching the people on boats or jetskis (a program that takes place every Sunday afternoon), where young people gather to spend time too. What to do for the night: there are several bars and options for quick snacks around. I recommend Cantinho da Massa, as it is a more affordable bar and restaurant and is in the middle of all the bars, and the people you see and feel are the same as the others. A great place to go out and meet someone (or just go out).

Nestled in the charming city of Goiás, alongside the picturesque Red River, the Cora Coralina House Museum stands as a testament to Brazil's rich cultural heritage. This beautifully preserved baroque residence not only showcases the life and works of the esteemed poetess Cora Coralina but also offers visitors an intimate glimpse into her world. As you wander through this historical gem, you'll discover elements of her poetry and personal artifacts that bring her story to life.
It's the most important place of Goiás, it's a "must visit" place. You can know a bit of the history of this strong woman, she was ahead of her age, and transformed her hard life in poetry and candies. It's a simple house that we can have an idea of all the houses of that village. People are also very nice there. And, in my case, it's special because is the end of the Cora Coralina path and also she was my gran grandma. 🤍

Goiás testifies to the occupation and colonization of the lands of central Brazil in the 18th and 19th centuries. There is a symbolic charge of 5 reais per person. And there are good food options around the museum. O lugar é rico em informações, é permitido tirar foto e possui diversos cenários dessa antiga cede do governo do Estado.

The Museum of Flags - IBRAM, located in the city of Goias/GO, offers visitors a wealth of historical knowledge and artifacts. The building itself preserves colonial architectural characteristics and houses important pieces of the city's history, including the original cross and remains of the old Rosario church. While it is a free visit, there are currently no guided tours available. However, visitors can obtain information from pamphlets provided at the entrance or by asking questions to museum staff.

(Translated by Google) Free visit. Street parking. And to access the building and 2nd floor, only by stairs. There was an elevator in one of the rooms on the 1st floor but I didn't question whether it was working. Several monitors accompany us in each room explaining the use of the space as well as the materials on display. There are several curiosities about the old prison and court, as well as the pieces on display and exhibitions. Allow about 40 minutes, I don't recommend it for young children or those uninterested in the exhibition of old pieces and works by exponents of local literature. There are bathrooms on site. (Original) Visita gratuita.

A positive highlight is the various monitors present in the Museum and who accompany us during the visit to each wing. Point for improvement is the enrichment of the collection, which I believe can be complemented with more pieces, especially mentioning the flags that reached the former capital of the State of the same name. Currently, the collection consists of 573 pieces, including objects of sacred art, furniture, clothing, weapons, and household utensils. The presence of the bandeirantes (pioneers/explorers) is evident in panels that characterize their exploration of the region in the 18th and 19th centuries. Among these objects, the Anhanguera Cross stands out, an original piece in aroeira wood attributed to the bandeirante around the 1720s. Points of Interest & Landmarks
Chafariz da Boa Morte, a significant historical landmark, is an impressive structure situated in a charming and picturesque square. This beautiful fountain is well-preserved and holds great historical relevance. Surrounded by trees, it provides a serene atmosphere ideal for reflection and leisurely walks. Its location adds to its allure as it enhances the sense of history and nostalgia that envelops the area.
(Translated by Google) Built in 1778, the Chafariz de Cauda da Boa Morte was built to share the city's water supply with the already existing Chafariz da Carioca. The term "Chafariz de Cauda" is used because the aqueduct that supplies it resembles a huge tail at the back. "Boa Morte" refers to the chapel of the same name, belonging to the Confraria dos Homens Pretos (Black Men's Brotherhood), located on a plot of land immediately behind the fountain. Built in stone masonry with soapstone details, the fountain has, in its central body, the spouts that provided water to the population, as well as two tanks for animals, on the outside. It is worth visiting. It is a historical site in the state of Goiás. Cachoeira do Abade

Nature & Parks
Coffee store
Waterfall with a large pool, accessed via forest trails with wooden walkways & suspension bridges.
Beautiful place to spend your day in contact with nature 100% of the time. The access to the livery point has a semi rough dirt road that might impose a challenge in a raining season. Once you are at the "Reserva" entrance everything is top notch. There is a guide that will give you all the necessary information about both trails and all attractions you can find along the way. The trails are all paved with "pedra de Pirenópolis" and the stairs steps are well built with wood and have solid handrails. Suspended bridges are also present and well built. Each waterfall has a fireman on duty in case any accident happens. If you have a chance do not hesitate to visit this place, it is worthwhile.
Hermenegildo G — Google review
This place is challenging to get to but worth it. Download the map of the area before starting your journey. In many locations leading the Abade and at the destination will have little to no service. The Cafe has Wi-Fi. The road up the mountain leading here is dirt and can be a challenging drive. You will want a confident driver. We made the journey in a 4 door compact car with 5 passengers and scrapped the bottom of the vehicle once. The journey can be made with a small car but you may want a small SUV, small Truck, or something with 4 wheel drive. Bring cash or purchase your tickets online. Note: their website only accepts PIX. At a very leisurely pace the long hike took about 2 hours 45 minutes. This place was filled with incredible scenery and beautiful waterfalls that you can swim in. If you are in Brasilia this place is worth the trip. Go to Pirenopolis for lunch or dinner after.
Erik B — Google review
***** Here’s What You Need to Know ***** From an American Tourist Think twice before risking your car. If you’re an English-speaking tourist, you’re likely coming from a weekend stay in #Pirenopolis or a day-trip from Brasilia. Once you turn off of the main road, get ready for 30 to 40 minutes of sheer HELL. I would not make this drive in my private vehicle. The dirt roads are repaired with what looks like jagged shards of detritus from the nearby granite-cutting business. And after 20 minutes of what you think is the worst road you’ve ever been on in your life, you make another right turn into a whole new level of hell, 10 minutes of terrain that could easily break an axle, much less chew your tires to shreds. I’m not sure I would do this even in a rental vehicle, especially if your deductible is $1500 as ours was. I would recommend securing a guide Pirenopolis and have them take you there. It would be well worth the money. At the entrance, they’ll give you a blue card which you will need to order food in the restaurant later. There are two trails to the #waterfalls. One is 500 m and doable for most people. The other is 2500 m which I understand accommodates visitors with limited #mobility. The visit is not without peril. On our way down, there were four lifeguards carrying in an immobilized young man back up the hill on a stretcher. It was a real emergency, not a training exercise. I’ll leave it up to you whether a splash in the natural pool is worth the trek.
John K — Google review
It's a beautiful place, which is reached after a winding 8-9km stretch of dirt road. It has a looping, well built trail where you will see many waterfalls. The water is very cold. I could have easily given it five stars, if it wasn't for the amount of the entrance fee, as it's not worth R70-80 per person.
J K — Google review
Beautiful hike, easy to moderate trails. There are several places to swim or get wet. There is also a rope bridge that brings some excitement to the hike. Lifeguards are posted at swimming areas.
Jay C — Google review
That is one serious infra-structured trail. The waterfalls are going to be crowded, but it is a nice walk and quite fun. The place could put some money on its parking space, which is ridiculously lacking of any infrastructure whatsoever. The shops/reception office is super shy of products. If you need English for the trail, you’ll manage, and also have some fun with some serious old time google translated signed.
Rafael V — Google review
