My visit to Chapada dos Guimarães National Park was truly unforgettable. What stands out most are the park’s dramatic red cliffs and cascading waterfalls, which create an awe-inspiring landscape at every turn. As a solo traveler, I appreciated how easy it was to find well-marked trails that felt both safe and adventurous. Bringing my dog along was a real plus, as there were plenty of wide-open sections where he could explore beside me. I found several peaceful spots to pause and take in the sweeping views over the valley. The sense of tranquility, combined with the raw beauty of the terrain, makes this park a fantastic destination for anyone seeking connection with nature and a bit of solitude.

The park is spectacular. The 3 stars is mainly for the park timings. I would recommend them to open at 7:30am. 8:30am sounds horrible for nature lovers. We cannot enter and enjoy the birds and nature in the morning. Apart from this the entrance is completely free. Well maintained. Friendly staff.

A marvelous place where you can get in touch with nature. It is a huge preserved area, a very important one in western Brazil. It is also a place where several species are protected and can live in peace. If you visit it, just remember to keep it calm and clean.

I visited the Parque Nacional Chapada dos Guimaraes with guide Rodrigo from Rasta House Ecotour and he was amazing!! He speaks English, is knowledgeable about the area, and took us to some awesome, secluded spots. There are parts of the park you can only access with a guide so go with Rodrigo!

Magnificent place, free entrance, self-guided trail, medium difficulty level, from the main entrance to the return to the parking lot, about 7 km. Take repellent, cap/hat, water, bathing suit and shoes suitable for the trail, preferably closed.

A beautiful place to visit as the sun is going down. Watch for the Red and Green Macaws returning to their nesting sites near the falls.

The biggest waterfall in Mato Grosso. Worth the visit and is stunning. When I visited it rained a lot and watching the waterfalls was amazing and worth. also could see lots of birds flying near the waterfalls. The view is spectacular . Recommend with family, kids and friends. The trilha is well maintained by the park. The entrance is completely free.

This is an incredible place to visit. We saw many White-Eyed Parakeets and a number of Red-Green Macaws. The waterfall and cliffs are breathtaking. There are a number of locations to take photos of the falls and a spectacular view down the valley. Don’t forget to take your camera and binoculars.

Open to the public, masks required, well kept and short trail leads to the mesmerizing view. After the main spot there's a restaurant and souvenir. Great afternoon activity for a family with children.

This is a really interesting private venture with beautiful sandstone caves and well-preserved cerrado, the highly endangered local vegetation. It's very well managed and organized, and the full package includes an excellent lunch. Jota, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and helpful, and we appreciated his patience with our terrible Portuguese. Note that we arrived without an outside guide, since you have to hire one of the local guides on site anyway. An outside guide may only be necessary for transportation to the site, and/or for translation. As others have noted, it is expensive, but we thought considering the professionalism and quality of the services, and the area's natural beauty, it was well worth the visit.
