Phu Pha Phet Cave

Caverns & Caves
Phu Pha Phet Cave, the largest cave in Thailand and the fourth largest in Southeast Asia, is a hidden gem with spectacular stalactites and stalagmites. Visitors can explore a Roman-styled chamber with a wide terrace at its center and gaze up at the mesmerizing stalactites on the ceiling. The cave offers an excellent experience, though it may not be suitable for elderly visitors due to its long walkways.
As others have mentioned the price for foreigners is very high. All up it cost is around 500thb per person. My parents thought it was totally worth it, I felt it was too high, I wouldn't mind so much if the money was going to preservation or maintenance, but it didn't seem to be. Having said that it was breathtaking, the best caves I think I have seen so far in Thailand, if not this side of the world. The formations are amazing. Do not miss the emerald cave, it's a bit of an extra walk but totally worth it. Highly recommended.
Rebecca C — Google review
So first of all, the cave is amazing...the size and scope of the place is hard to describe, it is incredibly beautiful and I think everyone who comes to Southern Thailand really ought to make the time to see this cave. That being said, the place feels very SCAMMY. I understand that the price of Entry to the cave has gone from 100 baht per person for foreigners to 400 in the last year. They also charge you for parking which is just a scam and they charge you 60 baht per person for a guide. If you don't have a powerful headlight or a powerful flashlight you will need to rent one from one of the people at the dilapidated food / souvenir stalls for 20 baht. This brought our total to 1,000 Baht even for two people. This is easily one of the most expensive places I have ever been outside of Bangkok that doesn't involve some kind of elaborate tour elaborate travel or food. We were the only people there today and we spent 3 hours at the park. The people manning the souvenir and food stalls seem desperate and are very pushy. The toilets are run down and there's no soap you'd think for 400 block per person they could spring for some cheap hand soap. The rail on the steps leading up to the cave is also broken in several areas and the walkway in the cave is broken in many spots and you have to be careful and listen to the guide so you don't break your leg. You can see that the Cave used to have a lot of lighting which would have made the caverns much more visible and easy to photograph but it's clear that it's not their priority to fix this only two cash grab what they can from foreigners. Your guide will boast that to the UNESCO world heritage site and you would think that they would take some pride in that and keep the lighting working and fix the dangerous boardwalks. That being said even though it is excessively expensive it is something I will never forget and it is incredibly beautiful. Be prepared to hike up 2 or 300 steps to reach the cave and then do another few hundred stairs within the cave...your guide will speak limited English but gets the point across and our guide took the time to make sure we took our photos and enjoyed ourselves. There is absolutely no air movement within the cave so do be prepared for stagnant and humid air. You will need to crawl through the first 3 meters of the cave as the entrance is very small, however the interior is massive...gargantuan even. Enjoy.
Wesley J — Google review
It's a good historical site to visit. the view is all beautiful and intriguing. Nevertheless, there some issues that can be adjusted to make the area more hospitable. - The pricing is not fixed. it varies based on the day you visit. it can be more expensive than what you see on the website. - the management should try to put an assistant guide who can speak at least English. the guide gave a detail explanation during the tour, but it was all in Thai language. -the stair way leading to the cave should be updated. it becomes really slippery during rainy days. the overall experience was passive. there's parking, but its not free
Nguidjol M — Google review
The cave itself - really nice. There are high and long stairs leading up to it (so you get tired before entering 😅). The cave inside is large and interesting. The vast majority of the way you walk here on wooden piers, guided by a guide. A few years ago, the cave was quite brightly lit. Now, we use flashlights (which can be rented upon entry for 20 BTH). This is to protect the cave structures from the destructive effects of light. This is one of the few caves where sunlight reaches one of the chambers.
Nataliawtajlandii — Google review
Huge cave with stunning formations. Some of the formations were massive and the variety was amazing. Many unusual and unique structures. Tickets to national parks can be used in different parks. Worth the climb and entry fees.
Oceanicthai1 — Google review
Unique experience! Need to semi fit for the steps up and walking around cave for 1hr +. Highly recommended been twice. Biggest cave in Thailand and in top 10 list on earth
M D — Google review
As to book a hotel/ resort, it is encouraged to include this in a package. Need to climb up the steps to reached the entrance which can be entered one person at a time because it is small. A guide is definitely needed to bring you in. Torchlight or headlight is a must because inside the cave is very dark.
Terence K — Google review
Visited on Sunday April 2023. Around 2-3hours Time 30-40min to climb up the cave entrance About 1 hour +to visit the cave due to climb up and down inside the cave with less than 10 %of function light. The cave was very impressed by a very high and wide space inside the cave. We couldn't understand the tour guide speaking thru the entire trip. And just heard a few words such as polar bear, Buddha statue, pyramid. Anyone know where was the fossil or any painting at the wall? We paying about almost 1000 bhat for 3 persons to the entrance fee and need to pay 60 bhat per person for only 1 tour guide, the tour guide can't speak English as well. It's not the place that non mountain climber should go. Better take your own headlamp/torchlight for each person if not 20 bhat for a headlamp. Proposal 1) repair the lights inside the cave 2) tour guide with English speaking 3) reasonable entrance fee for foreigner to attract more people to visit

Satun National Museum Kuden Mansion

Mentioned on
4 lists
Museum
History Museums
Satun National Museum, also known as Kuden Mansion, is a historical site located on Satun Thani Road. The museum is housed in a Colonial-European architectural style building and is open from Wednesday to Sunday. It offers an interesting insight into the history of the town and its people, particularly the Malay community. The museum showcases artifacts and exhibits that depict the local culture, food, and lifestyle from bygone eras.
Construction was started in 1898 and completed in 1916 by Phraya Phumnatphakdi or Tunku Baharutdin Bin Tammahong (formerly Kuden Binkumae), the ruler of Satun, during the reign of King Rama V. The mansion was intended to be a royal residence during a royal visit of King Rama V to the South. However, the king did not stay overnight here. The building was later used as an official residence and as the Satun Town Hall. Until WWII in around 1941, the building was occupied by Japanese soldiers as their command unit. It was also used as the Satun City Hall and other important official places. During 1997–2000, the Fine Arts Department renovated the Kuden Mansion into a western two-storey brick building. Curved doors and windows are in the European architectural style of art. Its Thai-styled hip-roof is covered with Spanish terra cotta roof tiles. Window panels consist of wooden shutters. The top of the pediment is adorned with a star-shaped vent in accordance with Islamic architecture. Inside, there are displays of history of Satun town and ways of life of the people of Satun, such as the sea dwellers of Ko Lipe, pot making, a room of the ruler of Satun’s residence, a room of the Thai Muslim culture depicting arts, culture, traditions, local lifestyles, etc. The museum is open on Wednesdays to Sundays from 9.00 a.m.–4.00 p.m. It is closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, and public holidays.
Kullaphut S — Google review
The fee to enter this museum is 50baht per adult. Not sure about the kids. Good thing was, we went for three person but they gave discount so one person didn’t have to pay. Thank you for that!🫶🏻 but to me it was kinda pricey because it was just a small museum and not really well maintained😭 But overall the museum was kinda dusty. Me and my friends were sneezing throughout the visit😭🤣 Not recommended for people with allergies to dust. And we were so sweaty during the visit because the aircond was down and the upper storey was so hot. The explanations were in audio format but it wasn’t so clear due to the sound quality. But you can still look around. I mean it’s not that bad. Minimal written explanations can be seen. So yeah. Just “look” around literally😅 It was 4/10 for overall experience. If you have nowhere else to go you can visit here…. But if you have other plan, maybe just forget your plan to visit herr🥹🫠 I wish they would improve the cleanliness and ventilation at the museum. There are public toilets beside the main building and they were clean! 4/5 for toilet! Wheelchair friendly toilet is available too. Parking provided beside the main building. You can also buy some souvenirs outside of the museum. Oh but the exterior was well maintained for an old building. You can take pictures outside :)

Nice local museum covering the broader Satun area and islands. Not big but inexpensive, informative and good for an hour or so.

Very beautiful place with lots of incredible history about the town and people. The staffs were super nice and very helpful. This place will take u back to long long time ago, to show you everything you could ever think of. Such as people, foods, places, and cultures. 👍🏽👍🏽😇

small museum, well kept, informative. but it was pretty hot inside since there's no A/C nor fans (windows are open). when it's blazing outside, you can't really focus enjoying history and only thinking about getting out.

Interesting historical remains, especially the Malay people. Ku Din Ku Meh (from Amir Azahari Al-Saadi in Facebook) Ku Din Ku Meh was born in 1848 at Anak Bukit. At age 14, he worked as a Prison Warder for Kedah. He was fluent in Malay and Thai. He wrote many books on law circa 1894. His wrote in Jawi. He was the Governor of Satun or High Comissioner of Setul (Satun). His book are kept at the Thai National Archives in Bangkok.

Al Hussain Mosque, Kuala Perlis

Mosque

The mosque smells very nice, they always keep it clean. You’ll be accompanied by the sound of waves splashing while you pray. However, you may notice some rubbish on the sand outside the mosque, likely from people littering.

Floating mosque near Kuala Perlis Jetty. A good spot to watch sunset.the minaret is unique and interior of the prayer hall is spacious for visitors to pray.
K S — Google review
Alhamdulillah, Masya Allah… this is such a beautiful mosque by the sea, near the Kuala Perlis Jetty. We came for solat Maghrib & Isyak prayers here. Incidentally there was a full moon, that a gave a beautiful glow to this already beautiful mosque. Grateful for the opportunity to be here.
Rahmah R — Google review
If you ever find yourself in Kuala Perlis, Al Hussain Mosque, famously known as Masjid Terapung Perlis (The Floating Mosque), is truly a must-visit. It’s not just a place of worship — it’s a peaceful sanctuary surrounded by the beauty of the sea. The sound of the waves gently hitting the rocks creates a calming and tranquil atmosphere, especially during prayer time. It’s one of those places where you can really feel peace in your heart. I came here for Friday prayer, and it was a beautiful experience. The mosque also provides a comfortable space for women to join Friday prayers, which is great. The Islamic architecture is stunning — simple yet elegant, perfectly blending with the ocean view. Inside, the air feels fresh and clean, with a pleasant fragrance that adds to the sense of calm. The sound system is clear, the air conditioning works well, and everything is neatly maintained. The wuduk and toilet areas are clean and well-kept, showing how much care is given to keeping this place comfortable for everyone. The surrounding view is breathtaking. You can even see ferries and RORO boats heading to Langkawi from the nearby Kuala Perlis Jetty. It’s a serene and picturesque setting that makes it a perfect stop for travelers to perform Jamak and Qasar prayers. After prayer, you can take a short walk to Laman Kopi Café, located nearby, for a relaxing cup of coffee while enjoying the sea breeze. It’s the perfect way to end a peaceful visit to the mosque. Con: Parking can be a bit challenging during prayer times, especially Fridays, as the space is quite limited. But with a little patience, it’s worth every moment spent here. A truly peaceful and spiritual spot by the sea — Al Hussain Mosque is an unforgettable experience.
Asyraf A — Google review
Masjid Al-Hussain in Kuala Perlis is truly a remarkable mosque that stands out not only for its strategic location near the ferry terminal but also for its architectural elegance and spiritual ambiance. The mosque is exceptionally clean, beautifully maintained, and offers a serene environment for worshippers and visitors alike. The interior design is breathtaking, featuring a grand mihrab, a beautifully crafted pulpit (mimbar), and an exquisite dome adorned with intricate Arabic calligraphy and multi-lingual inscriptions. The dome, with its combination of blue, white, and gold patterns, creates a sense of awe and reverence. What makes this mosque even more special is its inclusive spirit welcoming travelers and locals with accessible facilities and a peaceful space for reflection and prayer. It is fully air conditioned, well lit, and provides clear signage in both Arabic and Malay, with some translations in English and other languages highlighting its global and multicultural vision. Masjid Al-Hussain is not just a place of worship, but also a symbol of Islamic artistry and hospitality. It is an ideal stop for spiritual rest before or after a ferry journey. I highly recommend visiting this mosque if you are in Kuala Perlis it’s a true gem of Islamic architecture and devotion.

A place of historical significance. Gathered a lot of useful knowledge from the exhibits and sites. Interesting. Well kept and maintained. Nice to walk around, the pathways, the pond (you could feed the fish), the cave, the well, etc. Clean toilets. Friendly and helpful staff. Ample parking, even for buses.

Free entrance, we just need to register at guard house. The guards here were friendly and helpful. A lot of information and history on Perlis learn from this visit. Not to forget the nature surrounding this museum. This museum may need to update on the exhibition and make them more interactive.
Nooraishah S — Google review
It is a great place to visit combining nature and history. The sun was hot but the hills provided shade, the kids were too spooked to explore the caves. They don’t charge entrance fees and I learned quite a bit that I did not learn in school about Perlis.

A small but quaint museum for everyone to enjoy. Entrance is free. The grounds are very well taken care of. One would love taking pics of the surrounding limestone hills.

Tone Nga Chang Waterfall

National park
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Ton Nga Chang Wildlife Sanctuary is a stunning natural retreat nestled in the forested mountains of Southern Thailand, renowned for its breathtaking waterfall. This sanctuary offers visitors a refreshing escape from urban life, with opportunities to hike along various trails that cater to different skill levels. Each trail leads to picturesque waterfalls where you can take a dip and enjoy the serene surroundings. The area is also perfect for picnics, allowing you to soak up nature while enjoying delicious food amidst beautiful scenery.
Unspoiled nature so close to Hat Yai city. Virgin forest with 5km nature trail looping alongside the waterfall. The waterfall itself is amazing too. Be warned there are leeches in water upstream in waterfall section 3 and above. Ask me how I know.

40min short drive from hatyai Entrance fee : 200baht for non-thai. Alot parking spots, with some stalls selling foods. Toilets/changing rooms available. Clean. And there are some chalet inside. Huge area, there are 7 levels waterfall, but we only manage to go up(hiking) to 3rd one. Overall very nice waterfall. Alot of fishes at the first one. Good for family picnic.. Recommended for nature lover! Worth to visit..

Place was gorgeous and peaceful. Hubs and i came early to avoid the crowd but we were the 3rd group there before 10am. There's no proper place/seating to put your bags down and toilet is unfortunately quite far. Its at the carpark area before you make your way in the waterfall. If possible, please don't bring actual food(eg rice dishes) except biscuits, cause can feed the fishes. There's a lot. If have to bring food, please bring a plastic bag to throw your trash away outside of the area. Littering at a gorgeous place is criminal. Other reviews of the catfish are true, so please wear leggings/long pants if you have sensory issues or don't want to get a scar from the catfish sucking (which my hubs kena)

🌿 A Must-Visit Natural Gem – Ton Nga Chang Waterfall, Songkhla, Thailand 🌿 If you’re a nature lover or someone looking to reconnect with the outdoors, Ton Nga Chang Waterfall is an unforgettable destination that deserves a spot on your itinerary. Nestled deep within the Ton Nga Chang Wildlife Sanctuary in Hat Yai district, this majestic multi-tiered waterfall is one of Southern Thailand’s most breathtaking natural wonders. From the moment we entered the protected park area, we were greeted by lush greenery, fresh mountain air, and the serene sound of cascading water in the distance. The waterfall itself is divided into seven levels, each with its own unique charm and viewpoint. The most famous is the third tier, known as “Ton Nga Chang”, or “Elephant Tusk Falls,” where the water splits into two powerful streams, resembling the tusks of an elephant—truly a sight to behold! The trail leading to the upper levels is moderately challenging, offering a bit of adventure for hikers and nature enthusiasts. It’s well-maintained but natural, so wearing proper shoes is a must. Along the way, you’ll pass large boulders, shaded jungle paths, and small pools where visitors can rest or take a refreshing dip. It’s easy to lose track of time while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and stunning views. 📸 Highlights: • Crystal-clear freshwater streams perfect for dipping your feet or swimming • Excellent photo spots at almost every level • Great for picnics, but do bring your own trash bag • Family-friendly up to level 2 or 3; more adventurous hiking beyond that • Wildlife sightings: butterflies, birds, and even monkeys if you’re lucky! 🛑 A Gentle Reminder to All Visitors: With increasing popularity, it’s more important than ever to protect and preserve this natural treasure. Please do not leave trash behind—bring your waste down with you and use the bins provided. Avoid using soap or shampoo in the streams, as they pollute the water and harm aquatic life. And please, never feed wild animals, as it disrupts their natural behavior and diet. 💚 Let’s all do our part to respect the beauty of nature so that future generations can enjoy it just as we have. The waterfall is clean, vibrant, and full of life—let’s keep it that way. 🌏 Leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but photos, and keep nature as you found it.

This waterfall is located approximately 45 minutes away from Hatyai town. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the area and it is a very nice place to have picnic and enjoy the greenery. We enjoyed feeding and playing with the fish. We will return to this waterfall for our next trip to Hatyai.

Tong Nga Chang Waterfalls is truly one of the crown jewels of Thailand's natural beauty. Nestled in the lush green surroundings of Songkhla Province, this breathtaking cascade offers a stunning display of nature that captivates the senses and provides a sense of tranquility that is hard to find elsewhere. One of the most remarkable features of Tong Nga Chang Waterfalls is its multi-tiered structure, creating a series of cascading pools that invite visitors to explore and enjoy. The sound of water flowing over rocks is both soothing and invigorating, making it a perfect retreat for anyone seeking a refreshing escape from the everyday grind. The clear water, surrounded by lush vegetation, is simply picturesque, providing ample opportunities for photography and reflection. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the waterfalls serve as an excellent destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The surrounding area is ideal for hiking, trekking, and discovering the local wildlife. The well-maintained trails make it accessible for families, while the more adventurous can venture further into the surrounding national park. It not only offers a visual feast but also fosters a connection with the environment, urging visitors to appreciate and preserve the beauty of our planet. Tong Nga Chang Waterfalls charm lies in its ability to uplift the spirit and rejuvenate the soul, leaving a lasting impression on all who visit.

We drove from Hatyai to this attraction which is about 1 hr away, the place is quite near to Thailand and Malaysia border, so can expect many tourists. We saw google map putting 9am as the opening hour, when we reached there at 9+, they told us 10am then the attraction is open. We waited and car is not allowed to access and need to be park at the entrance. There is a free tram service to transport people in and out. We bought the ticket to access all attractions, however it is not really recommended. Most of the attractions are a waste of time and it is not open until late afternoon. When we are there early morning, most of the shops are still close. We have visited a few such as dinosaur park, animal land, cowboy town etc. Those who visit please do not buy the tickets, just take some photos in this place will do, not recommended to visit though.

Nestled in the southern part of Thailand, Songkhla Lake is a stunning natural wonder and the largest lake in the country. This expansive lagoon connects to the Gulf of Thailand and is surrounded by charming homes and lush mangrove forests, creating a picturesque setting for visitors. Spanning over 8,000 square kilometers, it plays a vital role in local fisheries and transportation.
The Biggest lake in Thailand,so many birds and local living ! Beautiful and amazing place.

This place is magical. Mom's hometown. Hat yai is in the south of the lake. And all around the lake are a few towns like khuan niang on the west and Songkla on the east of the lake. North of the lake would be Pa Khat. Here I am in the north side in wat pa khat. A lot of fishing is going on in this lake!

not much life and going on but definitely worth a go round to catch some good shots of the lake.

If you're starting in Hat Yai there's a nice loop you can do to fill a full day. Go to Khao Khuha Mountain first and then loop around Songkhla Lake, through Koh Yo and back to Hat Yai. This lake has many peaceful temples around it's edge where you can sit and have a picnic. Its probably good for bird watching. You can choose to go back to Hat Yai via Koh Yo (road) or Songkhla City (take a car ferry). If you take the quiet back roads on Koh Yo you are looking out over the lake much of the way. This trip also takes you within a few km of Bang Hoi Beach which is nothing special.

Flea & Street Markets
Kim Yong Market is a bustling and no-nonsense marketplace in Hat Yai, Thailand. It offers a wide variety of goods, including imported snacks, dried fruits, souvenirs, fresh produce, seafood, and street food. The market is known for its vibrant atmosphere and is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike to explore the diverse range of products available. Additionally, it's located near several dining options where visitors can enjoy delicious Malaysian and Southern Thai cuisine after their shopping spree at the market.
My first time visiting this local market in Hat Yai and I am also a first time visitor to Hat Yai. It was certainly a worthwhile adventure for me seeing the roadside stalls selling flowers, fresh produce and meats etcetera, and seeing the same mix of stalls in the New Kimyong Market or Kim Yong Marketplace two-level building - where the upper flow hosts stalls selling clothes and electrical and electronic products. That said, I prefer window shopping at the roadside of Kim Yong as the corridors in the two-level building were very poorly ventilated. I highly recommend a visit here if you are visiting Hat Yai.

Medium-sized local market that sells a wide variety of items. The first floor where tourists usually visit are filled with stalls that sells nuts and other dried foods. I recommend to visit their second floor too, they have a wider range of stores from electronics to antiques. Otherwise the market doesn't offer too much to see, a short visit will suffice.
Yuhng Y — Google review
Kim Yong Market is one of the most famous markets in Hatyai, so I decided to check it out during my trip. It’s definitely a place full of energy, but I have to admit my experience here was quite mixed. The market itself is very busy, with narrow lanes packed with stalls selling everything from local snacks, dried fruits, nuts, clothes, accessories, and more. The environment feels a bit cramped, especially when it gets crowded, so be prepared to squeeze through the lanes and move along with the flow of people. The prices here are reasonable, but not necessarily the cheapest. If you enjoy bargaining, this is the place to practice your negotiation skills — you can usually get a better deal if you ask politely. One thing that stood out to me was the attitude of the stall owners and staff. Many of them are very aggressive in trying to get your attention. Some will call out to you repeatedly, encourage you to taste their nuts or snacks, and push for a sale. While I appreciated the friendliness of a few stall owners who stayed cheerful even when I didn’t buy anything, there were also some who showed a “black face” or looked unhappy when I didn’t purchase after trying. This made the experience a little uncomfortable at times. Overall, I would say Kim Yong Market is worth a quick visit if you are nearby and want to see what a busy local market feels like, but it may not be everyone’s cup of tea. The experience is moderate — interesting to walk through once, but I wouldn’t call it a must-visit. If you go, just be prepared for the crowds, the pushy sales tactics, and take your time to explore and bargain politely for the best experience.

Kim Yong Market is one of those places you have to visit when in Hatyai! It’s lively, colorful, and full of local goodies. One of the must-tries here is Kaitod Meena — their fried chicken is super crispy and flavorful! But be prepared to queue because it’s really popular. There’s no proper place to sit and eat, so it’s best to take away and enjoy your food somewhere nearby. Aside from food, the market also sells a wide variety of nuts, dried fruits, and snacks — perfect for souvenirs or munching on while exploring. Overall, a fun and authentic local market experience — crowded but worth every minute!

Kim Yong Market is one of the main attractions in Hatyai. It is named after the wealthy original landowner. In the building, there are many stalls selling all kinds of nuts, dried fruits, sweets, tidbits, clothes, souvenirs, etc. The road beside the market is an interesting place to visit in the morning, from 6.00am to about 11.00am. Makeshift stalls, pushcarts and small eating shops line the whole length of the road. Fresh flowers, vegetables, fruits, local breakfast foods including noodles, rice, dumplings, cakes and desserts are sold. It is a place not to miss in Hatyai.

Morning fresh market outside is good for strolling to observe the locals' way of life, food and culture. Plenty of fruits, snacks and variety of local dishes eg. Malay, halal, Thai, Chinese. If you ride the train and get out from the station, the market is only 15 minutes walk away. Note that many sellers speak Malay, Thai, Chinese, reflecting how diverse the locals and visitors are. Also not too far apart are Santisuk and Lee Gardens markets but they are not open at the same timing so check first before coming.

Wholesale nuts and fruits. I bought organic pistachio 500g for 220B. Outside the market there is a coconut dodol shop. Came back a year later to same shop and bought 2kg of pistachio in 2025. Good quality! I called the shop as I had forgotten the exact location. She sent some one to fetch me from 7 eleven. There is also a shop selling curry paste 80b for 500g.

Lee Gardens Plaza Hotel Hat Yai is a well-established hotel that offers straightforward accommodations with views of the lake. It features dining options and a rooftop pool for guests to enjoy. Situated in close proximity to popular attractions like Kim Yong and Santisuk Markets, this 33-storey hotel is a favorite among locals and is often chosen for special events such as weddings and graduations. Additionally, the hotel provides VAT refund services for added convenience during your stay in Hat Yai.
The room was clean and the fixtures were in good condition. The air con was very powerful. Security was tight enough that some officials had their meeting or function there one of the nights. The hotel's location is very good. There is the Lee Gardens Plaza night market and there are many other eateries and shops in the vicinity.

Wonderful five-star hotel in the main city centre of Hatyai. I love staying here; however, it’s always fully booked. If there were an option for early booking with pay-later, it would be much better.

A hotel that is literally in the middle of the Hatyai night street. Rooms are decent with a great view!! Comes with a basic swimming pool and surprisingly, a large n well equipped gym! Sheltered n secured parking and good for motorcyclists! Would not recommend to have the breakfast (250 baht) at the hotel as hatyai had a lot to offer within a 1km radius!

Second time here. Room amenities are below basic. No toothbrush, slippers, shaver. Gave instant coffee sachets but not tea bags. Not sure why... Clothes hang on iron shelve and not a proper wardrobe with doors. What's Good - Location, Clean sheets and wood panel flooring inside. What's Disappointed - Shower partition half is missing so water splashed out to the dry 'powder room' area and made it so wet. Missing amenities. Furniture in the room is only one coffee table and one chair. Lastly is the need to change lifts to get from ground floor entrance to the rooms, as everyone has to interchange lifts at level 10.

The hotel location is very good, just located at the central of Hatyai Town Centre. The room I stayed in was a little bit old, but overall, bathroom and the bed were okay. The hotel provided breakfast at 10th floor, and quite a yummy breakfast. The ground floor of the hotel is the happening Night Market and there are many types of local mouth watering food.

ASEAN Night Bazaar Hatyai is a bustling covered market that attracts both locals and tourists, offering a wide array of clothing, souvenirs, and classic Thai dishes. Spread over two floors, this night market is particularly popular among Muslim travelers. The ground floor features stalls selling affordable clothes, shoes, watches, and beauty products like facial masks with samples for testing. While prices may be higher compared to other markets in the area, visitors can still try their hand at bargaining.
This place have lots stalls selling garments, parking lots are plenty, but due to the crowd, parking lots are quite hard to find. There is a small food court on top of the place, offer some local food with reasonable price. But i strongly recommend the organizer make some improvement on ventilation of the market as it is so hot in there.

Variety of items and food for tourists. Located very close to Greenway market so you can enjoy shopping at the 2 places next to each other. Note that it's open in the evening and closed on Monday so check carefully before coming.

Food - 5 stars. Cin Cao drink is soooo good & refreshing although it's milky? The tom yum from the yellow shop is the best tom yum we've had thus far (from a night market standard). The kerabu kaki ayam from the red shop is also good & the auntie who makes it is super sweet as well. Price wise - Very reasonable. Souvenir - Souvenir prices here are ok. It's not very cheap but not that expensive either. Recommended for the keychains / shirts / fridge magnets / typical souvenir with Hatyai or Thailand stamped on it hahah But for the inhalers (brand names), I think u can find cheaper elsewhere? For example I got 2 inhalers for 150B but I could get 6 for 180B from 7E. Clothes - The pricing here is a hit or miss. I would say it's kind of pricey for an okay-ish quality garments? But they are pretty generous with the discounts if you seem interested browsing their items haha Payment Method - For the food I think all places accept cash & QR. But for the clothes, some of them only accept cash although most of them accept QR payments. No card payments here.

Masya Allah, Subhanallah… you will be spoiled for choice here, as there are so many things that can be bought as long as you have the money.☺️ There are a lot of choices to choose from, some good quality and some not, so be careful and inspect thoroughly the stuff that you want to buy. Price is reasonable, but if you’re good at bargaining perhaps you can get a good price. The food upstairs is also great, many to choose from, so much so you don’t know what to choose, cos’ one can only eat as much. ☺️ Food is mostly halal. The place gets very crowded on weekends. So please be careful and take care of your handbags and wallets. Also make sure the small children are safe and closely guarded under watchful eyes. Happy shopping and enjoy the food too.

Many clothes and medicine selling with avarage same price, got food at upstairs and ground floor but difficult to find empty spaces, all full.. Suggest find place and reserved by our member 1st then others can one by one buy, food just nearest. Many tuk tuk waiting outside the market, better bargain, sometimes some of them put highly prices, better go by group its more cheaper.

ASEAN Night Bazaar in Hatyai is one of the more popular night markets in the city, and it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a lively evening activity. I visited the market after dinner and had a great time walking around and exploring the variety of stalls. The environment here is well organized, with stalls neatly arranged, making it easy to navigate even when the crowd gets larger. Compared to some other night markets that can feel messy or overwhelming, ASEAN Night Bazaar is more structured, which makes the shopping experience smoother and more enjoyable. There are plenty of stalls offering a wide range of products, from clothing, shoes, and accessories to souvenirs and small household items. If you enjoy browsing for fashion or picking up a few affordable items, this market is a good place to do so. The prices are reasonable, and with a little bargaining, you can often get even better deals. Of course, no night market visit is complete without trying some food. Although I had already eaten dinner, I noticed that there were many food stalls offering different types of dishes. What’s nice is that the food here is Muslim-friendly, making it an excellent choice for Malay friends or anyone looking for halal options. Portions match the price, and from what I tried, the taste was not bad at all — simple, flavorful, and satisfying for street food. Overall, ASEAN Night Bazaar is a great place to spend an evening in Hatyai. Even if you don’t plan to shop a lot, it’s fun just to walk around, soak in the atmosphere, and maybe enjoy a few snacks. If you’re traveling with friends or family, especially Malay friends, this is a highly recommended spot for shopping and food in a Muslim-friendly environment.

It's an ideal destination for families, offering fun experiences for both kids and adults. The museum now incorporates augmented reality into its 3D art, bringing the pictures to life.

This was technically my first time attending a magic show in a mini theatre and I thought it was really quite entertaining given the magic performed. Before the magic show started, we got to snap photos at the museum area which offers App enabled AR experience through your very own phone and the photos come to life! Just take note no photography or videography during the magic show! And do check out their collection of old toys ...!

Fun experience overall 1. Many rooms to take photos and have fun with their AR experience embedded in many of the photos. Enjoyed the different themes- egypt, winter, nature, paintings etc. 2. Staff was great and friendly to my son. We didnt get there in time for magic show but the magician actually came and spent 5 minutes giving a mini-magic show for my son. Not the cheapest but we had fun and was worth it.

Great experience, especially for those who loves magic. The museum items some of it doesn't have description or detail to reflex info (just historical old items shows)and for those who doesn't have any knowledge of magical history or legendaries person in magical pioneers will have no idea who or what it is. But the 3D museum is cool just need apps to download but certain cannot function fully. The great about this place is you can choose to buy a ticket for having a 1 hour live magic show from Thai no.1 magic person. It is a must to see.Fun ,enjoy and awesome experience to see the show. I always take a walk or jogging at this place. Fresh air in early morning. Convenient road, fully cover with a lot of trees like you're under nature blanket. The place is really safe even you are the woman who wanna walk alone. Sometimes, I went around 5pm and finished about 7 or 8pm. But still somebody walking there. Great view. Went there twice during my trip back in August 2025. The view was breathtaking! It is part of a big municipal park. So you can walk down the hill after enjoying the sunset and enjoy the view.

Kho Hong Mountain, located within the Hat Yai Municipal Park, is a natural gem that showcases the beauty of Thailand's southern landscape. Its lush greenery, breathtaking views, and serene environment make it a popular destination for both locals and tourists seeking a peaceful retreat from the city's hustle and bustle. One of the highlights of Kho Hong Mountain is the opportunity for outdoor activities. Hiking trails wind up to the peak, offering a moderate challenge for nature enthusiasts and providing spectacular panoramic views of Hat Yai and the surrounding area. on the top there is also Buddhist temple with the Golden Buddha Statue seen even from very far distance. Another appealing aspect of Kho Hong Mountain is the sense of tranquility it offers. The park is well-maintained, with picnic areas and sculptures that contribute to a relaxing atmosphere. It's a great spot for families and friends to gather, unwind, and enjoy nature together. In my opinion, Kho Hong Mountain is not only a natural wonder but also an important part of Hat Yai's community. It encourages an appreciation for the environment, promotes physical activity, and fosters a sense of unity. As urbanization continues to expand, having such green spaces is essential for enhancing quality of life and preserving the natural beauty of the region.

Visited Kho Hong Mountain Vista Point during my trip to Hatyai, and it turned out to be one of the most peaceful and scenic spots I visited. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy a nice view of the city while escaping the hustle and bustle, this is definitely worth the stop. The staff at the area were friendly and helpful, making visitors feel welcome. They were approachable and willing to give directions or provide some basic information about the place. Even though it’s mainly a vista point, their presence made the visit smooth and safe. The environment here is very calm and relaxing. As you reach the top, the surroundings become quieter, and you immediately feel a sense of peace. It’s a nice place to sit down, slow down, and simply enjoy the moment. For those who like photography, it’s a great opportunity to capture some beautiful shots of Hatyai city from above. The view from Kho Hong Mountain is stunning. You can see Hatyai from a different perspective, with a wide panoramic view that looks especially nice during the early morning or late afternoon when the light is soft and the weather is cooler. It’s a perfect spot to take in the scenery and reflect. There is no entrance fee, and although there is no food or drink service here, the experience is more about enjoying the tranquility and the natural beauty. Overall, Kho Hong Mountain Vista Point is a great place to visit if you want to enjoy a peaceful atmosphere and one of the best views of Hatyai. It’s ideal for travelers who appreciate quiet moments, nature, and scenic lookouts. Highly recommended for a quick stop during your trip, especially if you want to enjoy the sunset or sunrise over the city.

The Songkhla National Museum is housed in a stunning 1878 Chinese-style mansion located at the northern end of the old town. The museum boasts a vast collection of archaeological finds, folk art, and cultural artifacts. Visitors can explore prehistoric potteries, religious items, and a personal collection of the Na Songkhla family who once ruled over the city.
The Songkhla National Museum is an essential stop for anyone interested in the cultural heart of Southern Thailand. Housed in a beautifully restored Sino-Portuguese mansion that was once the governor's residence, the museum itself is a primary exhibit, offering a glimpse into the region's architectural heritage. Its collection expertly guides visitors through the area's rich history, from prehistoric artifacts and Srivijaya-era Buddhist sculptures to exhibits on the vibrant local Chinese community and traditional shadow puppet theatre (Nang Talung). The curation provides a fascinating narrative of trade, cultural exchange, and daily life. While the displays are highly informative, the true charm lies in the atmosphere of the historic building. It’s a peaceful and educational sanctuary away from the beaches. The entry fee is very reasonable, offering great value. For travelers seeking depth beyond sand and sea, this museum is a must-visit. It provides the crucial context to fully appreciate the unique cultural tapestry of Songkhla and the deep south.

The museum was actually only half opened as the main building was closed for renovation. However the rest of the grounds were open for free. We could see the rest around the foyers of the museum but couldn't really immerse into the whole history of the region. There were few visitors when we were visiting and the artefacts were also less numerous than other museums. However our passionate docent Wat (小龙) brought the museum to life as he shared about songkhla’s history and the stories behind the different artefacts. This was made all the more remarkable as he spoke basic English but closed the language barrier with Google Translate to convey more difficult terms to help us fully appreciate the pieces. Thanks for making our visit memorable!

Street Art Songkhla is a captivating initiative that emerged from the 'Songkhla Funtastic' tourism campaign in 2016. The most iconic piece, located at the intersection of Raman and Nang Ngam roads, depicts three elderly men enjoying tea, capturing the essence of Songkhla's morning scene. This artwork has become a popular spot for visitors to capture memorable photos.

Golden Mermaid Statue

Sights & Landmarks
The Golden Mermaid Statue is a must-see tourist spot at Samila Beach in southern Thailand. Visitors can enjoy the clean and beautiful atmosphere along the beach, with ample parking available just a short walk away. The area offers several photo spots and opportunities to purchase souvenirs and clothing from local vendors. In the evening, it's a great place for a leisurely stroll or picnic, with food and drink vendors lining the street.
First time visiting Songkhla’s Samila Beach, and the iconic mermaid statue did not disappoint! ✨ The atmosphere is so chill, with a refreshing sea breeze and endless waves rolling onto the shore. Tourists from everywhere come to soak in the beauty, and horseback riding along the coastline adds a magical touch. 🐎☀️ Nothing beats sipping a cool drink under the golden sun, embracing the peaceful seaside energy. Taking in the view, feeling the moment—this is beachside bliss at its finest.

Big beach stretch for miles.. Unfortunately not so clean. Lots of halal foods for the Muslims, not a problem to be here. Cleanliness would be an issue, difficult to find trash bins too.. Maybe to get the people to bring back the trashes but it doesn't really help.

Beautiful landmark on Samila Beach and a must-see when visiting Songkhla. The Golden Mermaid Statue is iconic and perfect for photos — go in the late afternoon or at sunset for the best light and cooler weather. The beach is relaxing with stalls nearby for snacks and souvenirs. It can get crowded on weekends, so be patient if you want a clear photo.A quick but memorable stop — great for enjoying the sea breeze, snapping a few pictures, and soaking in local legend.

Visited the Golden Mermaid Statue during my trip to Songkhla and it was a truly memorable experience. This statue is one of the most iconic landmarks of Songkhla, and seeing it in person felt very special. Located right on the beautiful Samila Beach, the statue offers a great spot to take photos and enjoy the surrounding scenery. The environment around the statue is very well maintained. The beach is clean, the sand is soft, and the area feels calm and relaxing. It is a lovely place to spend some time just sitting down and enjoying the sea breeze. The view of the ocean is beautiful, especially in the morning or late afternoon when the lighting makes the scenery even more picturesque. The Golden Mermaid itself is quite stunning. The craftsmanship is beautiful, and it has a unique charm that draws both locals and tourists. There’s something magical about its story as well — the mermaid is said to be part of a local legend, which makes visiting the statue feel more meaningful. Many visitors, including myself, took time to take photos here, and it’s almost like a must-do activity when you are in Songkhla. Even though this is a popular tourist spot, it doesn’t feel too crowded most of the time, and the atmosphere is peaceful. There are some vendors nearby selling drinks, snacks, and souvenirs, which adds to the convenience if you want to spend more time there. Overall, I would give the Golden Mermaid Statue 4 out of 5. It’s a beautiful spot to appreciate both the culture and the natural beauty of Songkhla. Whether you’re here for photography, sightseeing, or simply to relax by the beach, this place is definitely worth including in your itinerary.

Mountains
Khao Tangkuan, located west of Khao Noi, is the tallest of the twin hills and offers a funicular for easy access to its summit. Visitors can also climb the staircase for a less challenging ascent. At the top, there's a Buddhist temple and the Sala Phra Wihan Daeng Royal Pavilion with its dramatic Naga staircase. The panoramic views of Songkhla city and the sea are best enjoyed at sunrise or sunset.
Khao Tangkuan is a high mountain, which is about 2.000 feet from sea level. There are 2 option ways: - By elevator at the junction road between Khao Tang Kuan and KhaoNoi. Ticket elevator is 20 bath for children and 30 bath for adult. - Use the stair on the west side which is opposite to the elevator. There are stone stairs and many rest points and viewpoints. You can see the scenery from many levels. There is 145 steps from Naka Stairs to ViharnDaeng. Arrived at the top, there are really beautiful view, amazing place and worth to visit. High recommended!

You need to pay 60 Baht to go up the hill via a cable car. Once your there, get your cameras ready to take scenic views of Songkhla, the town and the sea. Probably best times to visit would be during sunrise or sunset and not in the hot afternoon. At the base of the Hill, you will find a lady who sells coconut ice cream. Make sure not to miss it because it's different from the ice cream coconut shake, we Malaysians are familiar with especially when in Malacca.

1 of the simple sightseeing u can see which isn't that far from samila beach. There is a small tram that takes u to the hilltop to see the temple up there. Cost 30baht per adult and 20baht per child. Can't remember but if not mistaken if it's child is less than 90cm it's free. View is nice at the top but aside from that there is frankly nothing much to do here. Qué to get into the tram can get crazy during peak seasons but u probably can skip this for more interesting sights elsewhere

Namtok Sai Khao National Park

National park

Waterfalls
It’s so heartbreaking seeing less people traveling to this unrest Deep South province, and more people missing the opportunity to blend themselves into the nature. The highlight of this national park is definitely its waterfall which can lead you to the top of the mountains, where a big Buddha locates. It’s such a huge waterfall with clear and chilly water. I rarely see any trash in the area which isn’t surprising because foods are not allowed. But they have eateries right at the starting point. They also have the restrooms close to the parking lots.
Chutarat U — Google review
Namtok Sai Khu waterfall 9 fall) is worth a visit and for once it is free to enter. On the other hand, you have to walk the last 300 meters up to the car park, unless you drive a 4x4 or SUV. The road is completely destroyed. There is NO water in the waterfall for very long after the rainy season, so a visit right after the rainy season is the best time. The place is completely unsuitable for people with reduced mobility.

Highly recommended. Namtok Sai Khao National Park and the waterfall in the beautiful province of Pattani in South Thailand is a must visit for anyone visiting the South of Thailand. It has a good track / footpath and is not hazardous, unless you are careless. This place is an ideal place for any photography enthusiasts who is interested in capturing the nature. This is an ideal place for kids and family to beging an adventure of trekking. A quite environment with beautiful sound of the waterfall makes you feel relaxed. The place is not crowded. This is an ideal place for camping and having fun with your family. Unlike many other waterfalls through Thailand, this waterfall is heavy flowing and is worth all the money that you pay at the entrance. There is a small entrance fee. Very friendly staff (park rangers) who are willing to accompany you to the highest point possible of the waterfall. They give you a guided tour. Of course if you don't speak Thai or Malay language, you need someone who can speak Malay or Thai language to translate. There are toilets with water, but no toilet paper. Toilets are generally clean. Light snacks and soft drinks are available. Negative points No public transportation to the park. Need to organise your own transportation.

What a beautiful grand mosque! I was lucky to enjoy its magnificent exterior not only during the perfect sunny day, but also during Eid when many families came in their matching holiday costumes.

Not the most beautiful mosque in the world but the expression of the Muslim character of Pattani. Open to everyone, take off your shoes before to come in and no one will pay attention to you. Old men pray, adult read books & kids play on their tablets. A house for all but of course only seen masculine attendants…

A peaceful and beautiful place to visit. This was my second time coming here, and it still felt calm and welcoming. The mosque is spacious and cool. There are many fans, so it stays comfortable even on a hot day. A small pond in the middle adds a nice touch and makes the view more relaxing. The facilities are good. There are many toilets and places to take wudu. If you come in the late afternoon, the light makes everything feel soft and quiet. One of the mosque caretakers, Mr Faison, kindly spoke with us. He studied in Gontor, Indonesia, for four years and finished in 2012. He was very kind and friendly. There is also a small museum inside with old items and historical things to see. If you are in Pattani, I truly recommend stopping by. It’s a lovely place to pray, reflect, or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

Review of My Visit to Masjid Kerisek (Krue-Se Mosque) On my journey to Pattani, I made a stop at the historic Masjid Kerisek (Krue-Se Mosque) to delve into its rich history and appreciate the significance behind it. This mosque, still in use for the five daily prayers throughout the year, stands as both a historical monument and a tourist attraction, known for its captivating story. Parking was easy and readily available, adding to the convenience of the visit. The mosque grounds were clean and well-maintained, reflecting the respect and reverence held for this sacred site. The atmosphere here is deeply evocative, making one feel the hard work and contributions of the early Muslim community in spreading and practicing their faith. Directly across the main street from the mosque, you will find the Hang Tuah Well. This well was built by the famous Malaccan noble, Hang Tuah, during his visit to the area. It serves as a significant historical artifact and a vital contribution to the community, providing a source of water as practiced in the sunnah. Exploring Masjid Kerisek and learning about the Hang Tuah Well, I felt a profound connection to the past, appreciating the dedication of those who built and maintained these structures. Their efforts resonate through time, reminding us of the importance of harmony, peace, and mutual respect. May we all continue to live in harmony, fostering peace and respect for each other as we honor the legacy of such significant historical sites.

Stunning small historic mosque with Arab sailor connection. The gothic windows of importance as some of the design elements prevalent in Gothic architecture can trace their origins to the buildings of the Umayyad dynasty, a Damascus-based caliphate whose descendants later ruled Moorish Spain. I read and heard people talking about this place my whole life. Finally I stepped into this place with my husband and kid to show them that you can have and experience Thailand without ever crossing the border. This place is quiet and I have no problem with that. It just the area at the back of the reclining Buddha needs cleaning

Wat Phothivihan (วัด โพธิ วิหาร) is a Thai Buddhist temple situated in Tumpat District, Kelantan, Malaysia. Below is a detailed description: - Basic Information: Also known as Wat Yamu (วัด ยา มู), the temple was founded in 1973 by Abbot Phra Krur Asapia Chakorn. It is one of the 25 temples in Tumpat District and ranks among the most popular Buddhist temples in Malaysia. - Architectural Features: The temple’s buildings adopt a Thai architectural style, adorned with intricate details and vibrant colors that reflect the rich cultural heritage of the region. - Main Attractions: The temple enshrines a 40-meter-long reclining Buddha statue—one of the largest of its kind in Malaysia. Construction of this statue began in 1975 and was completed in 1979; it was once the largest reclining Buddha statue in Southeast Asia until it was surpassed by the 66-meter-long one at Yangon’s Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda in Myanmar. Additionally, the temple features a Chinese-style pavilion and a Tibetan-style hall. Inside the hall, there are statues of Guanyin Bodhisattva with eighteen arms and Phra Phrom (the Four-Faced Buddha). The temple also provides accommodation for monks and tourists, offers free parking spaces

Wat Phothivihan is best known for its giant reclining Buddha statue, which is definitely impressive and worth a stop if you’re in the area. The temple grounds are spacious with a few other smaller shrines and statues scattered around, though some areas feel a little worn and could use better upkeep. It’s not a major attraction that would take up a lot of time, but it makes for an interesting cultural visit and a good photo stop. Parking is easy, and entry is free, which is a plus.

When you come to Kelantan, how can you miss visiting the largest sleeping Buddha in Southeast Asia. It really shocked my eyes. But it's a pity that it lacks cleaning. There are a lot of bird droppings on the surface of the sleeping Buddha, and there are also a lot of bird droppings on the walkway behind. The point is that you have to take off your shoes before you can go in to see it🤢. In addition to the sleeping Buddha, there are many statues to worship, such as the famous four-faced Buddha. There are a stall at the entrance/exit. If you want to quench your thirst, you can stop and drink coconut water.

A very huge sleeping Buddha in Malaysia, comparable and probably larger than the one in Bangkok. It's also the largest outdoor sleeping Buddha I've ever seen.

Another beautiful temple in kelantan. The sleeping buddha is huge!!! Peaceful and calm place to visit. (This is one of 3 famous buddha temple... Standing, sitting and sleeping buddha temple) Make sure visit standing buddha then sitting buddha and lastly here sleeping buddha for better "wow" feeling... Dont worry about my photos... I took some angles that no one really took it... Better see it for yourself!!!

The Handicrafts Village in Kota Bharu, Kelantan is a museum showcasing locally made handicrafts such as embroidery and silverware. The museum can be found on the upper level of a wooden building styled after rumah panggung. On the lower level, there are souvenir and food shops along with plenty of cats roaming around. Visitors interested in purchasing a keris should check out the corner shop offering intricately carved handles as well to avoid airport security issues.

This charming place beautifully showcases traditional Malaysian arts and crafts, from intricate batik painting to wood carving and woven products. The staff are incredibly friendly and patient, always welcoming you with a smile and guiding you step by step through the process. Walking through the village, you’ll find colorful stalls and small shops selling handmade items that make perfect souvenirs. Place is beautiful but there in nothing special to see. You can take a class to create your batik for 10RM and eat in a self-service restaurant (not suggested for Europeans). Nothing interesting for tourists nearby

My first time coming here and I like it. RM2 fee if you want to enter the museum. Not that big but sufficient information to know about batik and songket. If you wish to try drawing the batik, you pay RM10. There are few shops selling souvenirs with reasonable price. There is also a restaurant selling food which is famous in Kota Bharu, Restoran Nasi Ulam Cikgu. You should come here if you are visiting Kota Bharu

Siti Khadijah Market is a bustling multilevel indoor market in Kota Bahru, Kelantan. It's a one-stop destination for travelers looking to explore traditional Malay foods like akok, nasi tumpang, etok salai, and nasi kerabu. The market offers an array of products including fresh produce, textiles, handicrafts, clothing, jewelry and local delicacies.
A visit to Kota Bharu isn’t complete without experiencing the bustling, colorful energy of Siti Khadijah Market. This multistorey marketplace is a feast for the senses & a cultural highlight of Kelantan. Weekdays are best to visit as the market is at its most vibrant, with almost all stalls open. Note that many vendors close on weekends & public holidays especially during Islamic celebrations like Awal Muharram or Maulidur Rasul (Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday). On the Ground Floor of the multistorey complex, is the Wet market for fresh produce, fish, meats & vegetables. Up to the First Floor, there were sundries, dried goods & souvenirs (e.g. rattan-made or mengkuang-made ware, batik Wau, key chains, fridge magnets etc). Onto the Second Floor, there were clothing & traditional textiles i.e. batik & songket. Adventure isn't limited within the multistorey complex as there were many perimeter stalls for fruits, toys, gold jewelry & ready-to-eat local foods. Parking can be challenging though. Hence, it is best to use council street parking available across town, just a short walk away. Do come early for the freshest picks & to avoid the midday heat. Don’t forget your camera cos the vibrant piles of produce & lively atmosphere just incredibly photogenic! Enjoy the photos...

Located in the heart of the city, this iconic market is not just a place for shopping but also a cultural experience. The colorful building, buzzing atmosphere, and the variety of stalls make it a must-visit for anyone exploring Kota Bharu. What makes Siti Khadijah Market so special is the incredible range of local products available. From fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, and meat to spices, batik fabrics, handicrafts, and traditional snacks—you can find almost everything here at affordable prices. It’s a perfect spot to pick up souvenirs and also to enjoy authentic Kelantanese food like nasi kerabu and kuih. The market is named after Siti Khadijah, the wife of Prophet Muhammad, reflecting the strong role of women in business here. Most of the vendors are women, and their warmth and friendliness make the shopping experience even more enjoyable. Even if you don’t plan to buy much, walking around and soaking up the vibrant local culture is worth the trip. The market is busiest in the morning, so arriving early will give you the best experience and freshest choices. Pasar Siti Khadijah is a must-visit when in Kota Bharu — lively, colorful, and full of local charm. The best things to buy here are the local produce and traditional goods, which make for great gifts or souvenirs. Prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere gives you a real taste of Kelantanese culture. Don’t miss the food court on the 1st floor! The highlight is definitely the nasi kerabu — flavorful, vibrant, and a true Kelantan specialty. Perfect spot to take a break from shopping and enjoy authentic local flavors. Overall, a vibrant market experience that captures the essence of Kelantan.

A landmark of Kota Bharu, there is no other place that defines Kota Bharu better than Pasar Siti Khadijah. You can find almost every traditional Kelantan food, clothing and accessories and handicraft here at very reasonable prices. I strongly recommend every first time visitor to Kelantan to pay a visit to this place. For the best sambal daging (serunding), head straight to Gerai Kak Mah. You’ll find the best serunding in the world here. Its been the best for the past fifty years. I’m not joking.

A Vibrant and Authentic Cultural Experience! A must-visit in Kota Bharu! The energy here is incredible. The ground floor is a feast for the senses with colorful arrays of fresh produce, tropical fruits, and local snacks. What makes it truly special are the friendly female vendors—it's a unique and empowering atmosphere. Upstairs, you'll find all sorts of Kelantanese handicrafts and souvenirs. It's the perfect place to soak up the local culture, practice your bargaining skills, and try some delicious local food. An absolute highlight of my trip to Kelantan.

I came here around 8am on a Friday. Not all shops were open yet, but the wet market on the ground floor was already lively. As with most traditional markets, Pasar Khadijah has everything, from meat and chicken to spices, snacks, kuih-muih, and more. The place is quite spacious, with around three floors including the ground level. Kuih-muih can be found around the corner of one block. I suggest coming around 9am or later if you want to explore the shops one by one, as most of them open around that time. There’s also a morning market nearby, about 10 minutes’ walk away, where you can find plenty of thrift booths and local snacks.

Wet market on ground floor- lots of seafood but also meat. Inside stalls of various types. Local flavour. May be bit confronting for some overseas visitors. Open air so no aircon but covered.
