Endeavour Sailing

I recently completed the Coastal Skipper course with Endeavour Sailing in Lanzarote, and it was an exceptional experience! Our instructor, Peter, was outstanding-professional, knowledgeable, and patient. He made sure we fully understood each aspect of the course, from navigation to boat handling, and always took the time to explain things clearly. Peter’s calm and encouraging approach boosted my confidence, and his passion for sailing was truly inspiring. The boat was well-maintained and perfectly equipped for the course, and the stunning Lanzarote coastline provided the perfect backdrop for practical training. The course was intense but incredibly rewarding, and I now feel fully prepared for coastal cruising. I highly recommend Endeavour Sailing, especially if you’re lucky enough to have Peter as your instructor. A five-star experience from start to finish! Regards Janusz

Completing my Yachtmaster Offshore qualification with Endeavour Sailing was an outstanding experience. The training program is top-notch, with expert instructors - Steph & Nigel - who are both experienced and incredibly attentive. They created a tailored approach for each of us, ensuring we mastered both practical sailing techniques and theoretical knowledge essential for Yachtmaster-level certification. The course covered everything from advanced navigation and pilotage to complex maneuvers and emergency procedures. Endeavour Sailing’s commitment to safety and skill-building was evident every step of the way, with well-maintained boats and equipment that allowed us to focus fully on our training. The hands-on nature of the program brought invaluable real-world experience, building my confidence and problem-solving abilities at sea. If you’re serious about advancing your sailing qualifications (and enjoy some winter sunshine while doing it!) Endeavour Sailing’s Yachtmaster course offers the perfect combination of challenge, growth, and expert guidance. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to achieve high-level sailing skills and certification.

I did not have the chance to study at the school, but had the pleasure of having Keith Charlton as an examiner for my RYA Yachtmaster Offshore exam. I did not pass, but thoroughly enjoyed spending these two days at sea with Keith. He is not only an exceptionally experienced sailor and instructor, but also a very wise and kind person. I would certainly love to study with him in the future and recommend him without hesitation.

Another fantastic classroom & sailing experience with Endeavour! First up we took the chance to complete our VHF (RYA SRC/Marine radio) certification. A brilliant day in the classroom with Stephanie before taking our second time on board one of Endeavours Bavaria 37s for a weeks ‘round the island’ mile building, skills and drills top up (we did our RYA day skipper course with Endeavour 2 years previously). Keith provided us with a fantastic 5 days of sailing on the waters and winds of Lanzarote. His calm and experience helping build our skill set in a wonderfully unique way that is at the heart of this outstanding RYA recognised centre. Thank you Steph, Keith & Endeavour. Ian, Helen and Dan Newell….

As someone with 5 years experience ship handling, I can say without a doubt that I had a phenomenal experience here. Our instructor - Ashley - was one of the most patient and incredible instructors I have encountered in my career as a mariner. He enabled his students to skipper the boat in all situations only intervening when absolutely required. He is positive and patient and goes above and beyond to ensure not only that his students understand the material but that they are having a great time. He personally made us many cups for tea!! His instruction and the school have ignited within me a new passion that I never even considered before. This school is a challenging and rewarding experience. Be honest with the office when deciding upon a course and complete their suggested prerequisites before joining a program. The negative reviews are largely from people who come into come into the course thinking they are more experienced than they are and are disappointed when they do not achieve their desired qualifications because they are unsafe to get them. I can’t recommend this instructor and this program enough.
Conor D — Google review
My partner and I had a phenomenal experience at this school- they are able to take varying levels of sailors and turn out competent and safe watermen and women at a fair price. Our instructor, Ashely, was the most patient, knowledgeable, and passionate instructor I have ever had. I cannot say enough gushing things about Endeavor Sailing, thank you for starting off our sailing career on such a positive note.
Trish — Google review
!Such a wonderful sailing school experience with Endeavour! The course was very well organised from supporting with logistics, arranging social dinner upon arrival and of course, all the sailing plans and arrangements. The entire Endeavour instructor and support team very patient and friendly and safety focused. I appreciated the use of wet weather gear (cost inclusive to the course), a beautiful marina with hot showers (where you stay most nights) and of course the main thing most excellent teaching with the instructor S.Steinmann…very relaxed, professional, fun and explained everything in easy ways to remember. I’ve been to other sailing schools around the Canaries and Endeavour was just so much better, mostly in terms of the teaching quality and overall school organisation. Definitely will come back to continue my sailing progression. BIG thank you! 🙏

Learned so much with Endeavour sailing school. Feel a lot more confident, Keith and Stephanie were a great support to reach my goals. Peter is a super teacher with loads of knowledge and experience to bring you to the next level. We had also a wonderfull sailing around Lanzarote. The boats are very well maintained and clean. Highly recommend Endeavour Sailing.

Bodies of Water
Charco Verde, also known as Lago Verde or the Green Lagoon, is a natural wonder located in the small fishing village of El Golfo in southern Lanzarote. The lagoon's waters have a distinctive green color caused by phytoplankton and various minerals and microorganisms. Surrounded by ebony cliffs and the ocean, it offers a unique sight with sunbeams glistening on its olive green surface.
DON’T GO WITH GOOGLE WEIRD NAVIGATION Firstly go to El Golfo, and then a cool view point near El Siroco Cafe 🙌🏻 For me the view point worst much more than National Park and the lake :)
L A — Google review
Interesting orgin explained on nearby view point info graphics, but in fact nothing really very special. You will see exactly the same view from above as on hundreds of pictures on the web. Close riffs and sea waves were better 😉
Martin Š — Google review
Beautiful green pond (lake?) and black volcanic sand, with crashing waves...for the best view, park near Siroco coffee shop and walk to the viewpoint!
Matija M — Google review
The green lagoon was a part of the Timafaya tour. Beautiful scenery.
Anita T — Google review
Very interesting to see, I recommend visiting in the early hours. Personally, I came earlier, thus ensuring a parking space. When we left, a big crowd started to form... Next to the parking lot there is also a bar with a small shop and souvenirs, as well as toilets for an extra charge. The walk to the viewpoint is short, but a little steep, I recommend slightly more suitable footwear than flip flops.
Zala — Google review
Nice to see for at least one time! A good spot if there are no cloud for a nice sunset
Karlo — Google review
For finding this place, enter "Charco de Los Clicos" into the Navigation. ;) Besides from that, it is easy to reach with a car, has free entrance and free parking. There is a small trail 10 Minutes to walk to the viewing point (also good for older people: my mother is 70 J. old and not good on feet). There is also a trail below directly next to Altantic Ocean where you can get closer to the Green Lake. Those who want to do hiking also can walk straight to Los Hervideros (about 1.5 h). Recommendable.
Sarina A — Google review
It's nature, not so sure how you can rate it by stars. Finding this place is obnoxious on my Google maps, I kept having glitches and bringing me to Green Lake Jr. For parking, just type in Siroco Coffee Shop and go there. They have a large parking lot and it is just a few minutes walk up a pathway to view the green lake. Alternatively, you can just head to El Golfo, find parking anywhere there and walk to the lake viewing area.

Los Hervideros is a stunning natural attraction located on the rugged volcanic coastline of Lanzarote. This area is famous for its dramatic waves crashing into sea caves, creating picturesque views that are truly breathtaking. The Hervideros viewpoint offers an up-close look at the ocean's voracity as it collides with the cliffs, with paths and stone balconies providing safe vantage points for visitors to admire the landscape.
Just come here and enjoy the wonderful works of nature that constitute a true work of nature. Made of lava, surrounded by volcanoes and an ocean that shows its strength. A great place to walk along the coast and in the lava fields. Wild, harsh landscapes but so beautiful.

The sights and sounds are out of these world. Exciting trail, the view is diffrent at every turn. Please be aware that there are no public facilities, which means that some people use some corners as an open door toilet.
Iuliana S — Google review
Absolutely recommend visiting this place! You can walk across the lava rocks and admire the incredible view of the ocean crashing against the cliffs — it’s pure power and beauty. There’s something so romantic and inspiring about it. Definitely worth a stop!
Julia P — Google review
One of the hidden gems from Lanzarote. The sound of the waves splashing onto the rocks creates a lovely scene which is very enjoyable. Absolute worth going if you travel in the area!
David O — Google review
Excellent stop after a Timanfayo tour. Worth the drive. Beautiful rock formations and sea action. Many viewing areas and some walking but bot too serious. Plenty of free parking. lol kp
Andrew O — Google review
Great spot to stop by if you’re passing through the area. Friendly atmosphere, convenient location, and well worth a quick visit!
Manuel B — Google review
Great caves with red volcano in the background, walk 300m to the end to see two arches
Vlad M — Google review
I went there to photograph the location in the evening but found it challenging to do so. It is a very interesting and unusual location. It does have safety hazards so do keep a hold of your young children if you have any. I ended up photographing inland instead i.e., the sun lighting up the mountains as it approached sunset.

Restaurant
Mirador de las Salinas is a must-visit spot in Yaiza, Spain. It offers incredible views and reasonable prices, making it an excellent choice for enjoying a good plate of rice. The area also boasts nearby attractions such as the delightful village El Golfo with superb restaurants, Las Salinas, and the famous wine bodegas and stunning landscape of La Geria valley.
I really liked this restaurant. We actually visited twice. Once on our first day on the island, and then again a few days later when we realized it was one of the best spots around. The view is absolutely stunning, especially at sunset. You just book a table and sit out on the terrace. It is the perfect setting. We ordered the black paella, and despite reading some mixed reviews, I found it absolutely delicious. It was full of flavor and exactly how black rice paella should be. It was so good that we came back for more. The service was great, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the food was amazing. Honestly, there was nothing to complain about. A perfect combination of great food, beautiful views, and a lovely experience overall.
Simira S — Google review
Great restaurant in Lanzarote with a nice terrace with views on salt mines - would recommend booking the terrace to make the most of your experience. Food was delicious! Highly recommend the rice dishes. Many options but not in an overwhelming way. Waiters were very friendly and attentive, and gave us good recommendations for food. This is a must go in the island!
Nathalie A — Google review
Very nice, even in the evening without the view! The food is delicious (the secret iberico paella is huge and amazing, same as the grilled smoked cheese as a starter or the bienmesabe cake for desert). The service is also great. Don’t hesitate to go!
Marie T — Google review
Disappointing. Really lovely setting but the experience we had and food didn't match the views. It was a warm welcome and although we were trying to speak Spanish they accommodated in talking English which was kind of them. The balcony area was full so we were sat inside which was quieter. We were tucked in the corner of an almost empty room a way from the windows with views. We ordered a paella. Which took some time, but we didnt mind. When it came it was dry, burnt and rice under cooked. I would say however the fish and chicken was very well cooked and tasty. When we complained about the rice being underboiled and burnt they said thats how the Spainish like it. During the long wait and even when eating we were never asked if we wanted more drinks, if the food was good etc. Waited a long time for the table to be cleared and get the check. We ended up walking to the till to pay as we didn't want to wait any longer. The restaurant wasnt busy at this time. Just got a bit of a anti tourist vibe from our experience which is a great shame. For around €25 per person for a shared burnt paella we left feeling very disappointed.

Fantastic lunch experience with amazing fresh dishes and great tastes. Service is wonderful. Went back for sunset dinner and it was magic. Food again on a very high level.
Carsten L — Google review
The food is delicious and the staff extremely professional and friendly, they did all they could to sit me in a table with a better view which made me really happy. I recommend to go when it’s not dark so you can enjoy the stunning view.
Mirko P — Google review
Unfortunately we don’t have any photos and here is why! They food was soooo delicious that we couldn’t wait to try it. We have had their special appetizers goat cheese with ham, octopus, grilled goat cheese, steak and the fish of the day and it was amazing! High quality food with a twists. Perfect views and have a lot of parking. The best time I think is during sunset. Reservation recommended but we were able to walk in too. Thank you to amazing and very friendly staff!

Visitor Center Salinas de Janubio

Mentioned on

Visitor center
Tours
The Visitor Center Salinas de Janubio is a charming salt production facility where most of the work is still done by hand. Visitors can enjoy a guided tour, often led by knowledgeable guides who provide insightful explanations in English. The tour concludes with a delightful tasting session featuring three different types of salt paired with local delicacies and wine. Additionally, guests have the opportunity to purchase locally produced salt as a souvenir to take home.
On a sunny afternoon, we had the pleasure of visiting Salinas de Janubio with our guide Martin, who was incredibly kind and truly passionate about his work. Walking through the salt ponds where the salt is “harvested” was a fascinating experience. It’s an ancient process producing an exceptionally high-quality product, and the history behind this place is truly unique. At the end of the tour, we enjoyed a tasting of various salts paired with fresh tomatoes and cheeses, perfectly complemented by refreshing water and local Malvasia wine. Overall, it was a top-notch experience that I highly recommend!
Andrea A — Google review
Excellent tour around the salt flats today. So interesting to hear how everything is done and see the natural salt formation. Our tour guide was really great, very knowledgeable about the whole process. We even got to sample the salt, wine and cheese that is produced locally!
Amy H — Google review
One of only two remaining salt producing areas on the Island this was an interesting visit. We had a guide from the coach tour we were on and he was very knowledgeable. Most of the lagoons are no longer in use as the fishing industry on the island has all but faded away but there is still some salt production taking place here. The process was explained and we were walked though all the different stages of production. There is a Gift Shop where you can buy salt and there are limited toilet facilities there as well. All in all an interesting visit!
Michael J — Google review
We had a really interesting tour and enjoyed some amazing sights. A fascinating element of Lanzarote’s heritage. Our guide Dalia was very friendly and informative, she did a great job explaining everything. Thank you!
Danny J — Google review
Such a awesome experince. Our great guide Viki was amazing, she explained everything from history to salt production in english despite we were only two person in group of 12 spanish speakers. We recommend this tour 100%. Tour included salt tasting and we also tasted wine.
Adam V — Google review
Viki, you absolutely made our tour today unforgettable! Your knowledge and passion for the area shone through, making every moment truly special. The salt tasting with the fresh tomatoes and local cheeses was a culinary highlight. We can't thank you enough for making this tour such a success. If we ever return to Lanzarote, we'll definitely be booking another tour with you... at 10 o'clock 😁!
Antanas V — Google review
Really enjoyable and interesting place which i would highly recommend, I booked a private tour with tasting session through trip advisor costing £19 which was very good value, the guide talked about the history and making of the salt which I found fascinating and then tried different salts in the main factory at the end, it's quite remote so going by car is recommended, not sure if a bus goes to this location, I got a taxi which was fine going but awkward to organise getting back to hotel.
Paul R — Google review
Very nice bilingual deutsch-english visit organised by Vicky. We learnt a lot about salt production and we were impressed by her enthusiastic presentation. We will never see salt the same way than previously. To be discovered.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff were incredibly welcoming and always ready to assist with anything I needed. A special mention goes to Magdalena, the animator, who was an absolute gem. She is such a kind and helpful person, always making sure everyone had a great time. Whether it was organizing activities or just offering a friendly smile, she made my stay even more enjoyable. I truly appreciated her warmth and dedication. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and unforgettable experience!

We stayed for 5 nights for my birthday trip in the dreams hotel and it had everything we needed it was perfect for us. From champagne/water on arrival to help with our bags to the room, We was very impressed already, we wish we booked a longer trip by the end holiday. The hotel is very nice, big and clean - lots to explore. The preferred club option was great and I would recommend to book a preferred club room that entitles you to a few extras on the holiday (separate optional pools, different breakfast area option, snack suites, mini bar in room restocked daily) The room was clean and spacious with our bed made daily and fresh towels&flannels. Great size balcony. The air con worked fine no problems, the bed was very comfy and the gown and slippers was good for the spa. We had a hour free for the spa and I had booked myself birthday massage which I must say was AMAZING and very relaxing. When we got back to the room I had a little birthday chocolate treat which was also a lovely touch thank you! We ate breakfast in the preferred club every morning and it was great with so much option. The QR code app that you scan upon check in is also great with everything you need to know about the hotel from spa reservations to dinner reservations/opening times, pool opening times, maps, entertainment times. Overall favourites from the hotel : Mini bar Preferred club breakfast Good few different restaurants Swim up pool bar Cleanliness of the hotel Activities to offer great location to walk out on the front each way 2 mins from the beach Fresh towels/flannels Spa

We've been coming to the same hotel for years, and this is the third Halloween we've had the pleasure of meet the animator Saray. She's always kind and has a smile for our children. We don't know what it is, but her way of connecting with kids is truly special. We hope to see her again on our next visit. This year we also met Pablo and Valentina, who were very kind to us. Thanks to the rest of the entertainment team Tim, Laszlo and Nora for their kindness and willingness to make our vacation unforgettable. Once again, we want to express our gratitude to the hotel and all the staff. We will definitely be back.
Susan D — Google review
A deeply disappointing experience that does not live up to 5-star standards Our stay at this hotel was unfortunately full of disappointments ( August ) . The cleanliness issues alone were far beyond acceptable. On the very first night, we saw a cockroach in our room—which was already disturbing enough—but things got even worse. One time, we found a fake nail inside the bed ( which my wife doesn't use fake nails ) , and on another occasion, there were long strands of women’s hair left on the towels in the bathroom. This level of carelessness with basic hygiene is simply unacceptable. The food was repetitive, with almost the same dishes being served every two days. For a 5-star hotel, the lack of variety and quality was extremely disappointing. As for the staff, apart from a few exceptions, most were neither attentive nor friendly. Many behaved as if they were forced to be there. On top of that, they seemed to treat their own citizens more warmly while being noticeably colder and less helpful to other guests, which was very uncomfortable to witness. Another major issue happened by the poolside. We left briefly to have lunch (50 minutes ) , and when we returned, our towels had been removed from our sunbeds and given to another couple. This shows a complete lack of respect and extremely poor management. After all these experiences, I would neither return to this hotel nor recommend it to anyone.

We just spent 4 nights at this hotel. We had a nice time & it’s in an excellent location. The room has been nicely done, however there are parts of the hotel that definitely need an update (most doors & most public toilets). We had great service from all staff apart from the older man (on Wednesday 5th Nov) at the main pool who was dealing with the towels, he was just rude & unhelpful.
Jo S — Google review
Cleanest hotel ever. Staff are outstanding! (in every department) Food is plentiful and delicious. (plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. Would recommend going as a preferred member! Perfect location. All my requests prior to arriving, were catered for. Questions, requests or issues are dealt with immediately. No bed wars here... Plenty around!

We really enjoyed our trip to Dreams. Highlights were proximity to the beach, local bars & restaurants. We enjoyed breakfast in both the main buffet and Portofino, exactly the selection of food you would expect. We ate once in the main buffet for an evening meal and once in the Portofino which was excellent. Other nights we would eat out at local restaurants and then visit the buffet back at the hotel for a selection of their deserts. Staff were all very friendly from the point of check-in to check-out. Room service was fine, we found it to be very clean and in excellent condition, no issues. Plenty to do in and around the hotel, an ideal location.

We had a wonderful time during our stay. The staff was incredible, knowledgeable, helpful, cheerful, they were all great. The room was spacious, immaculate and well appointed. The pools were very nice and they held some terrific games and activities where everyone had fun and a laugh. Food was wonderful as well. I would highly recommend this place and I do hope we can go back someday soon.

Wandered down the promenade soon after we arrived in the resort and came across the small shopping centre next to the Rubicon Marina. The area, leading, to and around the Marina is lovely. Plenty to see and do. We stopped at Lani's Snack Bar for something to eat. Service and food were excellent. Plan to revisit the area on Wednesday or Saturday to see the Market.

Stunning little marina and boutique shopping area. A short 20min walk from.our hotel along the coastal path (Castillo Tagoro) just before sunset, you get an amazing view of the harbour and town (see photo). Some lovely places to eat out or drink or just walk around admiring the view and design of this lovely town. There are a few boutique stores for clothing and souvenirs.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Centro Commercial Rubicon, and I must say, it left a lasting impression on me. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a sense of cleanliness and order that truly enhanced my shopping experience. First and foremost, I was impressed by the impeccable cleanliness throughout the entire mall. The floors were spotless, the restrooms were well-maintained, and the overall ambiance was inviting. It was evident that the management takes great pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, which made me feel comfortable and at ease during my visit. Another aspect that stood out to me was the wide range of options available when it came to food and clothing. The food court offered an array of choices, catering to various tastes and preferences. From local cuisine to international delicacies, there was something to satisfy every craving. Likewise, the clothing stores featured an impressive selection of fashionable clothing brands, ensuring that shoppers had plenty of options to choose from. However, it is worth mentioning that some items in the mall were on the expensive side. While the quality and variety were commendable, it's important to be mindful of your budget when shopping at Centro Commercial Rubicon. Nevertheless, I found that the overall experience justified the prices to some extent, as the mall provided a comfortable and enjoyable environment for shopping and dining. In addition to the cleanliness and variety, the mall's layout was well-designed, making navigation a breeze. Signage was clear and informative, making it easy to find the stores and amenities I was looking for. The staff members I encountered were friendly and helpful, ready to assist with any inquiries or directions needed. Overall, my experience at Centro Commercial Rubicon was a positive one. The cleanliness, extensive choice of food and clothing, and the overall pleasant ambiance left me impressed. While the prices may be a tad high, the quality and convenience offered made it worthwhile. Whether you're looking for a place to shop, dine, or simply enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, I highly recommend paying a visit to Centro Commercial Rubicon.

More like not shop and run. I don't like making negative reviews but in this case I have too. OK we visited this place about 4pm on Monday so not the best time. I would say about half the shops are not occupied. There was only a supermarket, perfume shop, somewhere for your nails and a few clothes shops. The small bowling alley was shut. We hoped to stay an hour or more but 10 minutes were enough. Disappointing 😞.

What a lovely Marina, great shops and lovely restaurants. Went end of April/May 2022 and there was a swimming pool there but due to covid / early in the season the pool area was still closed. Such a lovely atmosphere at the Marina and we went on market day which gave it even more charm. Well worth a visit. You won't be disappointed. Can't wait to go back again, loved it there.

Ok for a visit out of hotel few good shops, supermarket and chemist, right by the harbour with great views and nice places to grab a bite to eat. Also great little pools of fish to watch as you cross over the wooden bridges.

Playa del Papagayo is a stunning crescent-shaped beach with clear waters that attract families for swimming and sunbathing. It is the epitome of Lanzarote beaches, featuring a shell-shaped strip of golden sand and transparent blue water. The area consists of a series of coves framed by volcanic rocks, offering protection from the wind.
Beautiful beach to go for sunset. You need to drive 20 min on an unpaved road to get there but it’s absolutely worth it. On arrival there are 2 beaches, the one on the left is more protected by the wind but the one on the right has longer sun.

A stunning sandy beach with breathtaking views and crystal-clear water. The serenity of the location adds to its charm. While the restaurants are on the pricier side, it's understandable given the secluded nature of the area and the presence of just two gastronomic spots.

Really great place to dive or snorkel!! Fantastic flora and fauna underwater. Hidden caves and unique animals I've seen there. Was a great experience! On the beach no options for shade, so if you plan for a whole day there, definitely take a sunbrella or a pop up beach tent with you. Take a watershoes with you if your feet is sensible, as if there is low tide, it's stony there. Otherwise it's sandy and amazing. One restaurant is at the top of the hill side, next to the beach. Always busy and que there, so if you hate to wait, take food and drink with you. If you go buy car, you just have yo pay €3 for the parking there per day. We loved it!! We can just recommend it!!.

Beach is nice but small and even in March full of people. Two nearby restaurants are quite expensive, because there is no other competition here. It is worth to visit Playa Mujeres, which is large and even more beautiful.

Gorgeous beach with crystalline waters and fish, great for snorkelling. But way too many people, definitely go first thing in the morning. We stayed 30 min and left as it was packed by 11am

Lobos Island, a protected islet with a 19th-century lighthouse, boasts diverse flora and fauna. It requires a special permit from the Island Council of Fuerteventura for visitors due to its protected status. The island offers opportunities for hiking, surfing, and enjoying tranquil beaches away from crowds.
Great destination for a day trip in the north of Fuerteventura. A ferry takes those interested from Corralejo to the island. The ticket costs no more than 20 euros per person. The island is home to beautiful nature, a large mountain and a beautiful lighthouse. You should allow about three hours to see everything. There is also a small restaurant near the ferry dock.

Took a return ticket with Naviera Nortour company 15th March 2025 (€17 return, left on the 11.15 and returned on the 16:00). Island itself is strangely alluring. Unfortunately I found it pretty busy in the main two places to swim (Puertito Isla de Lobos and Playa de la Concha) - not heaving, but enough to be annoying in the key photogenic spots. I don’t know what’s happening with the authorisation that people are meant to get to visit this island, allegedly limiting the visitor numbers to max 400 per day in 2 “shifts”, morning and afternoon. No one mentioned this once when purchasing tickets or boarding the ferry. A shame because there were so many companies offering boats there, I am sure that these combinations exceed 400 people per day. I hiked around 13km (I only had Converse on, nothing more than that). The lighthouse was a nice place to break up the day, approx 1hr from either direction at an estimate - I came prepared with fresh bread, ham and cheese and had a small picnic. I had stopped by the chiringuito upon arrival, as advised to make a booking, but they had no fish and a bunch of other stuff off menu so I didn’t bother in the end and was grateful I had planned ahead just in case. There was some shade finally at the lighthouse - lacking elsewhere on the loop. Also very nice views over the island itself and out towards Lanzarote. As most reviews state - no toilets or shops, slather on the suncream as it’s sunny AND windy, hats and everything. I was worried the 4+ hours I had on the island would be too long but with the loop walk and a swim at the end it was the most perfectly timed day.

Beautiful Island with crystal blue clear water. Reminds of similar places in the caribbean. Can get crowded though during peak season. Should be a great place to snorkel. We tried it but we had more succes seeing different kinds of marine life in other places on Fuerteventura, like Morro Jable and Gran Tarajal . But because it's a cove the water is very calm and thanks the clarity there is great visibility. Be sure to stay on the paths because the island is a protected nature reserve. If you don't you may get yelled at by locals. There a multiple compagnies that offer day trips to the island, all departing from Coralejo. So take the ferry and have a relaxing day at Isla de Lobos!

Wonderful island near Corralejo, Fuerteventura. Accessible by boat with a range of competitors providing options from little speed boats through to larger craft costing around €16 for a day return trip. You can walk around the whole island on a circular route in 2-2.5 hours which we found well worth it to sample the fascinating range of landscapes on the island. The volcano Montana La Caldera to the west of the island is well worth the climb although it can be busy with tourists. There is a nice beach (Playa de la Concha) 10-15 minutes from the port. We went there to relax after our long walk until our return boat. There are no real facilities on the island so make sure you bring food and drink. There is also limited opportunities for shade. Very nice place to visit though and highly recommended.

Stunning island with amazing scenery and a really nice walk. You do have book in advance to get the boat to the island as I believe there is a daily capacity on how many visitors the island can have. Be sure to take comfortable footwear and plenty of water and snacks. Make sure to use the bins located around the walking path for any trash :)

Water park
Water & Amusement Parks
Located on the southern edge of Corralejo, Acua Water Park is a popular destination for families and thrill-seekers alike. The park features nine different water slides suitable for all ages, a lazy river, a wave pool, and a giant jacuzzi. For those traveling with kids, there's also Gambito Games, an arcade with a bowling alley. Spanning 25,000 square meters, the park offers 14 water features including traditional slides and a wave pool.
Ok, maybe the river part is unimpressive, the waves are okeyish and the slides are average overall, but all this is worth so much more without long lines, crowds, and high prices. The park is reasonably priced, the staff is nice (although weirdly fixated on banning smart watches), and it is fun to spend time there.
Dariusz ( — Google review
Nice waterpark. We've visited with our kids today, 104e for family of 4 is good price in my opinion, weather was average as wind was mad, little sun but apart from that good spot. Many slides and pools for various people. Staff was kind. Make sure you bring warm clothing just in case. Thank you guys.
Lucas D — Google review
Really lovely place and wasn't packed when we went which is always a plus. Their "fast track" is basically hiring out floating. You can either hire out yellow ones and not wait or wait for people to be done with the blue ones on that particular ride. Fun slides and not a mental wave pool. Only one slide (red and black) was able to be used with a double ring. All the others were with no ring at all. And no slides are for like a family to go down, which was disappointing. Also the lazy river really needs more of a current. The amount of times we got stuck still and had to use the walls to push off. Ended up getting out and pushing my son in the ring. It was a lazy river but not lazy for yourself. More of a work out by the end of it lol. Overall probably wouldn't go back but did have a really good time
Kayla G — Google review
Really enjoyed our trip to Acua Water Park. It's not too expensive (€104 for 2 adults and 2 kids) and we had a great time on all of the slides. Plenty of sun beds available and we got a spot in front of the main slides which worked out well. The kids absolutely loved jumping off the ledges into the 4 metre deep pool - it might have been their favourite thing to do. The lazy river lived up to its name and was very slow. You can to keep paddling or pushing yourself to move. The food was good and reasonably priced. And queues for the rides weren't bad at all. There is an option to rent your own tube for €6, but we didn't and never had to wait long for one. One good thing to note is that the slides all close at 5. We weren't aware of that and would have tried to go on a few more times.
Jamie R — Google review
Although the price is somewhat high, it is a great family day out. The facilities are clean. Lifeguards are everywhere keeping the place save and keep everything moving smooth. Food is ok. I would suggest to bring plenty of snacks and drinks.
David W — Google review
We had a fun day at Acua Park. Lots of different slides to try. All felt safe and well marshalled. Favourites were the Rapid River which I found mildly terrifying. The waits weren't long and we didn't wait too long to pick up blue rings which are used and handed over after various rides. To avoid any wait you can hire the yellow rings you keep and return. Lockers were available for 6Euros, which we took. There was something for all ages and plenty to challenge the cowards among us.
Rich C — Google review
The water park was a great time, little to no wait to get on any of the slides. The wave pool every hour was awesome but could get busy depending on what hour you go. The lazy spa needs so work, it basically doesn't work 😅 but all the other "rides" make up for that! Deffo worth a trip if you are close or the day trip if you are travelling further!
Kyle M — Google review

A stunning, expansive beach with almost white, powdery sand. The water is icy cold but crystal clear. The surrounding dunes add a unique and beautiful touch to the scenery. There’s plenty of roadside parking since the beach stretches out over a large area. For me, it’s the most beautiful beach on the island – an absolute must-visit while in Fuerteventura.

Surf Institute Fuerteventura is a top destination for surfing year-round, with excellent conditions especially in the winter. The school offers small classes with personalized instruction and individual feedback, creating a welcoming and familiar atmosphere. In addition to high-quality teaching, they provide a fun experience with great music. The friendly and competent instructors cater to all levels, providing transportation to the beach and lending equipment. Students also receive high-quality photos and videos of their progress.
This is the best surfcamp by far. The beautiful accomodation is led with love and care. There are different types of rooms from nice single to cozy multi-bed rooms. There's a huge kitchen area and a wonderful bathroom. The camp is in a quite area but close enough to go to the supermarket or some restaurants. The surf school was very professional and sometimes tough. I thought i new a bit about the sea already but here i've learned so much more important details about conditions, currents and reefbreaks than ever before. The coaching of my positioning on the board and in the water was also a very helpful part on my inermediate surf journey. They fixed a lot of my current surfing issues with their experience. The name "Surf Institute" is well chosen. They take their job seriously. The heartwarming crew knows how to run a camp - in and outside the water. I met a lot of returned guests at the camp. For me it was the first 4th time surfing fuerte but the 1st time at Surf Institute - i will return, too. Thx!

Awesome surf school with small groups. Thanks to that the instructors have time to help each student individually, what pays off in fast progress. The surf spots and time are determined daily to guarantee the best waves and experience. We stayed in the pine tree villa, which is a beautiful modern villa with a nice vibe and a great garden. We will definitely come back!

Thank you so much! I had an amazing time at Surf Institute Fuerteventura. Information about surf courses, the rooms etc. is very detailed on the website and communication before and during the stay was excellent. You can really feel that they all love what they do. Surf courses: Perfect experience. Starting from the organization, they always choose the best spot and time when to go surfing. The groups are small so you really get a lot of advice. I was there as an intermediate surfer and improved during that time. Because there were different levels of surfers they divided the groups so everyone got the best out of it. I had lessons with Tommy and Dave, both are super friendly and excellent surf instructors. Pine Tree Villa: A beautiful place to stay. Does not matter if you are a solo traveller, with a group or a couple (they offer different rooms). Everyone was super friendly and the level of detail and decoration was very nice. You can walk to different restaurants and bars in appr. 10-15 minutes. If you want to go to the beaches (in addition to the surf courses) I would recommend a rental car. I am looking forward to my next stay at SIF :)

These guys really know how to teach surfing! I stayed for a beginners class at surf Institute and had an amazing time. The classes were always very small and Pat, the teacher, took a lot of time for instructions and individual feedback. Even though I haven't been to many other surf schools, I think that surf institute is special as the atmosphere was always very welcoming and familiar. I really felt comfortable! Besides surfing the guys also know how to spent good times with loads of great music. In that sense, thank you very much for the lovely holiday, the funny games, the music sessions and last but not least the amazing time on the surfboard, surfboard.. Anne

Lovely surroundings, easily accessible via tarmac road (not always the case on this island) If you just want to go up this lighthouse it is cheaper than the whole museum. We didn't visit the museum itself as it looks like the history of fishing on the island)
Rory C — Google review
The museum is really worth visiting and very interesting. But, as most of the museums on Fuerteventura, it has its problems (therefore the island government started to privatize the first museums 2016). - If you do not speak Spanish, you see nice things but have no idea what is going around. Everything only in Spanish – what a stupid idea on an island with 80% UK and German Tourists! - Video presentations are very interesting if working. Most times they work not and, of course, just in Spanish. - Very unmotivated girl running the museum. But, if you talk Spanish to her she gets nice and friendly. - Most times the door to the white tower, that was the first lighthouse, is closed. If so, ask the girl to open it, because you can go up there to enjoy a fabulous view to Lanzarote, El Cotillo and the lagoons. Resume: Great museum, badly run but at least very fair. The entrance is anyhow inexpensive but if the video stuff is not working you get e rabat of 1,- Euro. Nice and honest.

The Faro del Tostón hiking area is a picturesque spot on the volcanic beach of Fuerteventura's northwest coast. This classic candy-striped lighthouse offers self-guided geology tours and houses a museum dedicated to fishing. Although amenities like toilets were closed during our visit, there are picnic tables available for a pleasant lunch overlooking the crashing Atlantic waves. The surrounding beaches are small and lagoon-like, featuring warm and calming waters.
Easy to get to by car. Wasn't open when we were there although it suggested it does open for tourism. Nice views and a sign guided historical geological walk thing you can do if you want.
Andy T — Google review
Well, it's a lighthouse, and they're all pretty much the same, but a clear azure sky enhances its simple, functional structure. The views of the breaking surf over the volcanic rocks are breathtaking and to the north, on a clear day, the neighbouring island of Lanzarote can be seen on the horizon. Also, it's a raised fossilized hardened sandstone beach so there's a chance you might find something interesting. It's only a ten minute drive from El Cotillo, which is well worth a visit in its own right.

Nice place to visit with great ocean views. The lighthouse looks cool, and it’s quiet and peaceful. You can have a walk around and find shells or crabs in the small waters between the rocks in front. Great for photos and a calm stop if you’re driving around the island.

Beautiful lighthouse on the northwest coast of fuerteventura just north of El Cotillo. Beautiful location with the Atlantic crashing in behind. There's not much else there, but a beautiful part of the island

This part of the island is not as popular and crowded as the rest of it and you will not find long beaches here, but a large number of small beaches and even more lagoons filled with warm water sheltered by rocks from the ocean make it worth spending some time here. Love El Cotillo, there are turquoise, clear lagoons protected from the big waves on one side of town. The big, wild beach at the other side of town is good fun for waves. The town itself has gorgeous little shops and restaurants. Being on the west coast of the island too means that it’s a great spot for sunsets.

Amazing beach. White sands which makes also the water look turquoise, small lagunas with calm waters and then big waves further if you wish to have some fun. Not busy usually, restaurants few hundred metres away, car park close by. This place is great for relaxing and enjoying the view.

A beautiful tranquil beach with turquoise waters and white sand on the north west of the island. It is clearly a trendy area, normally frequented by cool surfer types, I say normally because like all areas at the moment due to the Covid restrictions are very quiet. But anyway if you are staying nearby or perhaps drive up to the North to visit the volcano then this is a great stop over. We spent a couple of hours chilling on the beach in the hot sun, yes it was a bit breezy but thanks to the stone built wind breakers, once you lie down on your towel, you hardly notice the wind at all. There was free parking directly on the beach and a lot of little restaurants and shops nearby. Highly recommended when you visit Fuerteventura

Free entry and kept very well. Clear floor directions guide you around the house. Could do with more translations for tourists as there is a lot of text. If you can't read Spanish, then it would not take a long time to visit. I'd allow an hour if you can read Spanish and half that if not.

Playa del Castillo

Outdoor Activities
Playa del Castillo is a city beach known for sunbathing, swimming, and picnicking. It offers scenic views and a tranquil atmosphere. Located in a protected bay near Caleta de Fuste, the gently lapping waters are perfect for various activities such as snorkeling and interacting with sea lions. The beach is family-friendly with excellent amenities including transport connections, sunbeds, restaurants, and watersports.
Shallow waters near the man-made sandy beach is perfect for a swim and for families with young children. I am guessing lighter sand had to be brought in because the natural sand on the island is volcanic, which is almost black. The sunbeds can be rented for around €10.50 for 2 for the whole day. There are free public toilets nearby that are kept clean and also a small bar that sells various drinks and snacks. The beach is quite a long stretch. I can imagine how busy it can get during the summer but February was perfect and quiet.
Joseph T — Google review
Beautiful sandy beach, extremely clean water, and the water is smooth, not too wavy. Peaceful place. Also, the public toilet is spotless.

really great beach with plenty to do around including food, drinks, desserts, shops easy access to the toilets as well and nice to swim. loungers available for hire but we did not used at the time. great for families with kids singles couples and friends. really loved it

Shallow waters near the man-made sandy beach is perfect for a swim. The sunbeds can be rented for around €10.50 for 2 for the whole day. I’ve seen plenty of people just bringing their own blanket and relaxing in the sand. There are free public toilets nearby that are kept clean and also a small bar that sells various drinks and snacks. The beach is quite a long stretch. Quiet enough in May going into the first week of June. Plenty of beds and spaces all around. Lots of restaurants too close by we brought our own food and drinks to have a beach day was perfect. No lounger needed

This beach is truly captivating – a wide stretch of fine, light-colored sand invites barefoot walks along the shore. The water is crystal clear, as transparent as glass, and usually remains calm, with gentle waves that make it perfect for swimming or simply relaxing in the sea. There’s a peaceful, almost secluded atmosphere here, ideal for anyone seeking a break from the crowds. What’s more, the facilities are maintained to a very high standard – the public restroom is spotless, which significantly adds to the comfort of the visit.

Nice beach with plenty of sunbeds and amazing sun coverage, the sea itself is nice and cool which is ideal when you’ve been lounging in the sun. Only big issue is that there isn’t many places to eat near by so ensure you have food with you!

Shopping
Located in Fuerteventura, the Atlanticó Shopping Centre is a modern complex with over 50 shops offering a variety of products from designer brands to electronics. The center also features a supermarket and specialty shops, as well as entertainment options such as a movie theater, bowling alley, and arcade. Visitors can take advantage of the tax-free advantage on certain products like tobacco, perfumes, and alcohol due to the exemption from Value Added Tax (VAT) on the island.
Excellent shopping centre, priced very reasonable too. We loved Spar so cheap compared to the rest of the island and their ludicrous prices. SPAR ALL THE WAY. Beachfront right outside, plenty of restaurants, games, cinema (I don’t think there was any English speaking movies when we went), even a kid area out front. Really cool I like it. Close to McDonalds too . Perfect location - you can walk here no car needed. You can also cross over under a bridge to get to both sides.
M L — Google review
It's a nice today shopping centre which has a large spa supermarket in it together with some smaller shops selling clothes, shoes, phone accessories and souvenirs etc. Also a lovely Indian restaurant and a few bars together with a games lounge which has amusement games and ten pin bowling. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

It’s a big shopping center with cafes down stairs . A big Eurostar food shopping centre. Cloths . Phones . Sports . Angles . Hair dressers . Shoes . And lots more Toilets down stairs Be aware when waiting for a taxi you could be waiting 45 mins …. 👎

A small but perfectly designed little shopping centre. Everything you need is here. Lots of shops, A play centre for young children and some great little cafes too!
Eric A — Google review
A very clean and new looking shopping mall, 10min walk along the sea front from our hotel. The Spar was our favourite, some really good prices and a nice little cafe inside. A few local cafes at the back of the shopping mall with some very tasty food. Around the back of the shopping centre is an old castle like building with a little pool teaming with fish, take some bread and you will love feeding them and the wood pidgeons. Not every day you pass two camels on your way to the shops.
Steven T — Google review
Kids liked the play park and amusement rides outside the center. Some nice shops inside too
Graham C — Google review
A nice relaxed environment for clothing, jewellery or grocery shopping (Spar) which also has cinema and bowling options on lower floor. There's a terrace with food and drink outlets. There are slopes, escalators and a lift for the less mobile persons.

Some decent shops and restaurants inside aswell as a big spar. Good children's play area outside for the kids to let off some steam.

Aguas Verdes

Nature preserve
Nature & Parks
Aguas Verdes, which translates to "green pools," is located on the wild west coast of Fuerteventura in Playa del Valle. When visiting, it's important to input Playa del Valle as your destination on Google Maps to avoid being directed to a holiday complex. The area features a small beach and shallow pools hidden among the rocks that can be explored at certain times.
Omg! What an experience we had. First, the place is spectacular. Second, you should definitely be very careful. It's important to go at low tide. Not a proper place for children or people with mobility problems. To be honest, i guess we almost missed the low tide and the waves began to flood the natural pools, one by one. It happend to catch us in two of the pools, but it wasn't that bad. It's a dangerous place, if you don't choose the right moment.
A-L.C — Google review
Nice place. We saw many crabs. Even death ones. Large area to explore.
Fajns P — Google review
I wasn't expecting much but actually really loved this place. The rocks are nice and interesting to explore. The sea is beautiful with these little pools with beautiful clear water. Cold in May but was okay for short swim. We saw many crabs which is the reason why I wanted to go in the first place. don't miss this, go for a walk to the right
Agnes E — Google review
Aguas Verdes is wild and beautiful — absolutely worth the trip. There’s enough parking, but the last few kilometers are off-road (still fine with a regular car if careful). No cafes, no mobile coverage, no services — so download offline maps and bring water. What you get in return is stunning: dramatic volcanic rock formations, crashing Atlantic waves, tide pools, and sea crabs. Raw, quiet, and powerful — a perfect spot for nature lovers who don’t mind a bit of rugged access.
Dima B — Google review
Reality is pretty diff. If you don't get good wheater you can't swim there. Also one hint if u want to swim there u must bring your swimshoes for yourself
Filip T — Google review
Amazing place! You can see fish and sea urchins if you have a snorkeling mask. Also, check the tide before going there, go if there is a low tide, there are more natural pool to swim in and more fish, also fresh water
Anna — Google review
Place between rock with multiple besutifull natural pools where you can swim. Crabs are chilling on the rocks and trying to catch sun :)
Ondrej K — Google review
It's an interesting spot where natural pools are carved by the waves in the rocky shore. There are some good views to be seen and you can observe how salt crystals form after the seawater evaporates. You can also spot a lot of crustaceans. Keep in mind that the beach is rather small and dangerous (slippery rocks, steep incline, currents) so you should choose another place if you want to go for a swim.

Located south of Caleta de Fuste, the Salt Museum Salinas del Carmen is a fascinating destination that offers insight into the history and production of sea salt. Visitors can explore the museum to learn about the diverse uses of salt throughout history, including its medicinal, culinary, and cultural significance. Additionally, guided tours provide an opportunity to witness the traditional method of salt extraction in the active salt marshes surrounding a small village with historic houses.
Lovely experience and educational for Adults and kids. Very small indoor and out door. We paid 30 euro for 4 Adults and two children

Super interesting and a really cheap price. We spent about 2 hours here. All of the people that worked there are really kind and helpful. We bought a glass jar witg fresh salt and a large bag of salt to bring home at a really low price. Very happy and will definitely come back when we holiday on Fuerteventura.
Rachel B — Google review
It's worth visiting them and buying some salt for home, to try. They actually make it on site. Support them rather than buying anything else in a souvenir shop. Very pleasant place, they've made the most of it. Bonus points for the chipmunks.
Eva V — Google review
As for things to do in Calle de Fuste... There really isn't much. Of course this is a relaxing tourist town which caters specifically for that. But if there is something that you want to see and experience... The Salt Museum should rate highly on your to-do list. Not only is the gift shop actually very good, with some high quality presents for the family friends you actually like back home. But the actual museum is really interesting and informative. Who knew there was so much you could learn about salt. Then you can actually see the salt farming process working. While it's not manned all the time, it's a very passive process. We were lucky to see a man using the farming technique. If I had to describe it, basically a man sweeps the top layer of salt off the sea water pond and pulls the salt aside to dry out on the rock. In the modern era it seems very unimportant, but in the times the farm was created in, it was extremely important. And it is interesting to see and find out how important salt actually was, and still is. Though the methods have improved and this farm has become almost obsolete as a commercial enterprise. The actual farm has a clever engineering process to it. The water is caught from sea spray, then funneled into tanks. Then siphoned into small ponds for dehydration and extraction. Of course it is far more impressive than I've described and Wifey and Hubby would recommend the visit. The only real downside is that it is outside of the town. Which means a long walk, but if you do decide to go, we recommend hiring a bike or scooter or go by car. Also the Barbary ground squirrels, often mistaken as chipmunks. Are very friendly and will take food from your hands here. So if you bring some veg or nuts, your children will love feeding them. We find that cucumbers, grapes, watermelon, Kiwis and peanuts work well. But remember it's a desert so watery fruits and veg works great. There is also a small cafe that serves soft drinks and crepes and waffles. A nice little treat on a hot day toiling on the salt farm...
James G — Google review
It's worth visiting. The museum is small but interesting. Outside you can see the process of how salt is made and next to it there's a mini beach.
Eric S — Google review
Entry is 6 euros for an adult. A small museum dedicated to telling the story of salt production on the island. It takes maybe an hour to see everything at a leisurely pace. English, Spanish and German video. Gift shop selling small samples of the salt produced on the site for €2.75. A cafe.

Lovely visit, very interesting. Friendly staff. Nice little shop. Walked there from Caleta De Fuste which took around an hour along the coast track. Returned by bus which was super easy and cheap.

The Morro Velosa Statues in Fuerteventura are a must-see attraction, featuring two ancient kings of the island set amid a stunning valley landscape. Created by Emiliano Hernandez, these statues offer a picturesque sight and are perfect for stargazing in the evening. Situated in Betancuria rural park, at an altitude of 600m, they provide an incredible viewpoint overlooking the dunes of Corralejo and Tiscamanita.

Made the trip to the status from Corralejo...about 40 min drive....lovely scenery on route. Stopped off for a quick photo opportunity of Tindaya Mountain....great view. The status area itself has parking on bother sides of road. Great view and photo opportunities of surrounding areas...as you are on one of the highest points on the island! ...and I have to mention the numerous and friendly squirrels! Take a short stroll on the various trails in the area....and the curious nature of these little creatures will bring them right up to your feet! .... Once you're finished with photos etc....you can continue your drive down to the little picturesque village of Betancuria...and park up and stop for a quick coffee or snacks in a cafe.

Mirador de Guise y Ayose is situated along the FTV-30 road, offering stunning views of Fuerteventura. The viewpoint features two 4-meter high statues representing the ancient kings of Jandia and Maxorata. The drive to the site is pleasant, with well-maintained roads and minimal traffic. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the island and the ocean from designated parking bays.
Very interesting view point and a piece of a Canary Islands history. Large viewing terrace overlooking the landscape on one side and a two impressive metal sculptures of Guise and Ayose. A few parking spaces on both sides of the road available , there is not much to walk, you probably spend there approx. 20-30 min. The point is located almost between the two turnes, so it is quite tricky to drive out as you have to watch out both directions and it's quite inconvenient. I was lucky to have my partner to make sure the road is free 😊.
Angelika Z — Google review
Beautiful viewpoint in the mountains of Fuerteventura with a view of the sea. You should allow some time for the ascent as the road is very narrow. Once you reach the top, there is very little space to park. The view is outstanding. A sculpture commemorates the history of the island.

The view here is really awesome. The whole island feels like one big rocky desert, but from up here you see it all laid out below you. It’s kind of amazing to see that rugged landscape from above. Great place to visit, beautiful walks. The path splits intoTwo paths the one on the left is more difficult, one on the right is more easy. I suggest the right path. We took our 4 kids up ages 6 months to 7 years it took about 1 hour with break and visit etc and about 40 minutes down. The steps at the top are very steep so be careful with young children and older adults but this part in just the last 50-70 meters. The views are stunning, well worth the visit.
