We had a FANTASTIC visit! The sanctuary has a nice variety of animals who have been rescued. They offer free tours, which I highly recommend. The host was very friendly and knowledgeable and took her time to answer all of the questions. The kangaroo area was a blast. There are about 100 kangaroos laying about waiting for a nice scratch and the sanctuary provides snacks for you to feed them. The Tasmanian Devils were a real treat as well.

This wildlife sanctuary was quite well maintained and curated for the size. It's pretty small though and only takes under an hour to explore slowly. There are an impressive number of free range kangaroos but they're totally lacking interest in the food given to feed them as everyone gets a free bag. They were already full at 10:30am on a weekday. Probably the best part about this sanctuary is how close and visible the wildlife is, and how placid and portable the kangaroos are. You can pat them easily as they're all laying around.

This is a great place to visit! It’s a private organization that runs on donations and entrance fees, and they do amazing work helping animals that are injured or can’t go back into the wild. They have Tasmanian devils, parrots, echidnas, and kangaroos. It was a pleasant and fun experience to see this place and the wonderful care they give to the animals. Highly recommend!

We had a stellar visit to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary. We were advised to stop in during the day first, and that was excellent advice — the wildlife hospital is active then, and you can see the rescued animals being treated and cared for. During the day we saw plenty of birds, lizards, snakes, and more kangaroos than I could count. Their behaviour is both sweet and slightly bizarre: if you find the right spot on their chest that they can’t reach, they turn themselves around and line up for a scratch, clearly loving every moment. We returned in the evening for the private premium night tour, and it was worth every penny. There were four of us, and we were taken through the enclosures to feed and meet the nocturnal animals up close. We now have a ridiculous number of photos of us feeding and petting them. Highlights included the echidnas, the little wombat, and the opossum — though the Tasmanian devils and quolls are absolutely must-sees too, and only rank “second” because the others were in a class of their own. Our host was super informative, and we peppered him with questions which he handled easily. We learned about how the sanctuary is funded, the volunteer rescue network, how animals arrive, how they’re rehabilitated, and the individual stories behind many of the residents. It really brought home how worthwhile the effort is — this is a genuine, ongoing mission to protect and help native wildlife. It’s also worth remembering that your ticket helps support all of this vital work. A small note of guidance: you get out of this experience what you put in. If you’re visiting with very young children, a daytime stop may be enough, and the night tour might feel too long. If you’re only mildly interested in animals, the daytime visit could be sufficient and the evening tour a stretch. But if you — or your (pre-)teen kids — are truly into animals and their wellbeing, this is absolutely fantastic. A really special experience. Highly recommended.

Best tour ever. We did the night tour on a Friday. Our tour guide, Jessie, did a great job! We got to feed kangaroos, echidnas (bug porridge), devils (with tongs!) and spotted quols - “baby faced assassins” There were only 5 of on the tour. It was great! The new clinic is wonderful. You can look in the windows and watch the vets work. They do training with the animals. most of the smaller animals will walk onto a scale. Also got to pet a wombat. More later. One of my top ten days!!!!

I accidentally left my watch in the restroom during my visit to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, and the team was incredibly kind and helpful. They not only found it but also took the time to carefully pack and post it back to me — even sending me the tracking details! I truly appreciate their honesty, professionalism, and warm service. Our visit that day was wonderful — the animals were lovely, the staff were friendly, and the whole experience was absolutely worth it. Highly recommended! 🙏😊

The main reason I wanted to come to Australia was to visit Tasmania as it’s always been a dream of mine to see a Tasmania Devil. After years watching Looney Tunes as kids, it spawned a desire to see an actual one. Our guide at the sanctuary was really knowledgeable and gave us insights to the Wombats and Tasmania Devil that were definitely eye opening. The history of the reasons behind the little Devil being named as such, it’s current struggles in the wild with it facing a contagious spreading cancer and it’s temperament, an animal you don’t want to ever try and approach due to its strong bite! We were lucky to see 2 brothers in their natural habitat and watch their feeding! The Kangaroo feeding is beyond amazing especially if you live outside of Australia. This is a once in a lifetime experience for any one of any age! So thankful to be blessed enough to have the opportunity! This sanctuary is also a rescue with a hospital on site. This is a must do while In Tasmania if you are an animal lover and is definitely worth continual financial support if you are so inclined.

Normal park..good for walk..haven't seen Monkey ;) its huge and can park outside for 2 hours.. for visitors nothing special

I wish I'd had more time to spend here. It was beautiful. I particularly liked the Sensory Garden. I was there between rain showers and it smelt beautiful. City Park is easily within walking distance of the centre of Launceston, we walked here with coffee. The Japanese Macaques are fun to watch. If you want to go somewhere to spend a few minutes this is a good place they will amuse adults and children alike.

The park is quite big. With the exception of the Japanese snow monkeys, there was not a lot to see. Very little plants and flowers, altho it is winter.

A must see when visiting Launceston. Beautiful place to visit which you are free to explore the large park,and is of no cost. Follow the many paths,suspension bridge, and board walks along the gorge and enjoy the great views and well kept gardens, river and animals You can swim in the blue pool, or small lake on a good day of course. There is a cafe on site. The chair lift gives you a birds eye view and a fun trip across the valley for $20 return.

This place was absolutely stunning. We took the old school lift to the other side. The view was so peaceful and stunning. You can imagine our excitement seeing a peacock near the other side, only to find there are a dozen more roaming around freely! They are super close but wont allow you to touch them. Wallabies also joined the mix. A few walking paths onsite. Well worth the visit.

Lots of good maps, even better rocks. This place is really good considering its ease of access and proximity to the city. The chairlift was fun, and the bumblebees are friendly. Staff were great and friendly too. #1 pretty rock river that I've seen.

The big highlight of Cataract Gorge, at least for tourists, is the peafowl. I had the pleasure of being there in Spring, mating season, so the boys were on full show. The peahens were treating their prospective mates with a bit of... contempt, it was kind of amusing to me (and just about every other woman I spoke to). This is a truly beautiful a space. It has multiple walking paths for different ability levels, a swimming pool, a suspension bridge and chairlift across the gorge itself. The cafe provides tasty food for a mix of tastes and some souvenirs. There is a bit of something for everyone. There is wheelchair accessibility through the inclinator. There is some accessible parking but I think it would fill up quickly especially in peak periods. Parking is paid.

Cataract Gorge Reserve in Launceston is absolutely stunning! The views are breathtaking, and there’s so much to explore — walking trails, the suspension bridge, and peaceful spots to just sit and enjoy nature. We spent hours taking in the scenery, and it’s the perfect place for a relaxing day out. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Launceston!

Beautiful natural gorge, so close to the centre of Launceston. Busy parking space with paid parking ($2 per hour) A variety of walks/hikes available, from short stroll along the grass to 1km loop around the gorge basin, or a steep hike. There is a short chair lift that takes you to the other side of the gorge (adult prices are $15 one way or $20 return). Nice cafe with beautiful views. There is a pool, or can swim in the gorge.

Stunning!!!!! Beautiful day spent. Took the chair lift, did a walk and just enjoyed being in nature. Tip:We took the lift from the top to the bottom So we didn’t have to walk up after all the walking around. * pay for it when you enter the reserve.

Love being able to get up close with our Tasmanian animals. Also love that this sanctuary cares for animals that can't got back out into the wild, or help them rehabilitate. I feel the sanctuary needs a bit of money spent on some areas that are getting a little tired. Its a wonderful spot and I hope they can get a grant to help.

Very fun day! I had a good experience here. Met many lovely animals. It was my first time to pat a little wombat and tassie devil so soft and cute. Recommend be there before 11 am for free interactive tours

I was very impressed with the staff and the overall experience. I also appreciate that they provide social services for the animals and am delighted by the care they provide. I especially admire how they ensure the animals' comfort is not compromised by visitors. The sessions led by experts, where one can learn about these species, are truly the highlight. Keep up the good work!

I had an incredible experience at Trowunna. I’m really appreciative of all the amazing work they do here. You can tell they really look after the animals and it makes me so happy that they are able to release healed wildlife back into the wild, and have breeding programs in place to boost numbers of these special species.

My partner and I had a wonderful experience at the sanctuary. Seeing the range of rescue animals and how well they were taken care of was great. We took advantage of one of the free guided tours and got up close to a wombat and Tassie devil. It was also great to have a wander to each of the enclosures and hand feed the kangaroos and birds in between. It was a great trip and recommend people to check it out.

Fantastic experience, very friendly and knowledgeable tour, where else do you get to pat a wombat AND a tassie devil. Well worth the trip, you can spend a couple of hours wandering around feeding the wildlife. Go for the beautiful song put out by the albino magpie!

What a brilliant place this is. A variety of wildlife for everyone to see, and the devil’s weren’t worried about coming out to say hi. There are lots of birds, kangaroos, wallabies and wombats. Brilliant work by staff and highly recommend you going in.

Great place to take the kids on a rainy day in Tasmania. Plenty for them to see and do. A knowledgeable guide and interesting information on seahorses and handfish. Well worth a visit.

Very informative tour of the setup there. Seahorse are fascinating. The walking fish were really interesting too. Probably a little expensive for what you get, but the kids really enjoyed it.

A must visit on your travels through the area! Family-friendly fun! Lots to explore, mazes galore! Cafe has alot of choice for food and drinks. The plain scones are warm served with jam and cream or date scones served with date/maple butter & cream. Fresh & delicious! Clean toilet facilities for all & a kids playground our kids loved! Cute little gift gallery too & highly recommend the show bags for purchase!

So much fun! The mazes are amazing and there are extra things that we discovered within the maze. Reception gave us a list and we spent a fun day finding all the items on the list. Love the lower village of Crackpot. Great fun for any age.

Great family outing and we love the hospitality of the staff. Specially Gayle was wonderful. Thought was raining but after a few minutes the weather was great. Toilets were clean. There is a cafe that serve hot food till 3:30 pm and restaurant closes at 3:00 pm. A gift shop with delicious ice cream and loads of gifts to take away. There is a lavender farm as well that you can visit during the right season.

What a weird little place - in a good way! We stopped by on our drive from Launceston to Cradle Mountain on a weekday afternoon. Empty but made it an even better experience - have not been anywhere like it before. It's a selection of mazes and dad jokes, tiny houses and buildings, as well as world landmarks. You need to see it to get it. Staff were very friendly and pleasant and gave us some jams to take home which was lovely. Would come back and highly recommend.

Bit of a delayed review. But my husband and I went to Tasmazia in February for our honeymoon. We just want to say we 100% recommend! Staff were beautiful and lovely. Beautiful food with views. Amazing mazes! And a great all round fun place. If you're looking for something fun and unique to do, definitely come here. There's so much to see and unique amazing sculptures and mazes. They also have the best pudding. Thank you guys for the amazing time and the beautiful food and service you gave us.

You've got to hike these beautiful tracks at least once, or better, do any many as you can! Well worth the sore legs for the mesmerizing scenery & freshest air you'll breathe in a long time. Always dress for 4 seasons, you can suddenly experience sunshine, rain, wind & sometimes even snow.

Even if the weather isn’t perfect, Cradle Mountain in Tasmania is still worth visiting—wombats are the highlight! Though I’m sure it’d look even more stunning under a blue sky.

Cradle Mountain is a must-visit when in Tasmania. We spent two nights here and summited Marion’s Lookout, which offered beautiful panoramas of Cradle and the surrounding peaks. Nature at its best is on display here, with abundant flora and fauna. The trails are also well defined and properly maintained, making hiking safe for all levels. Do kit up with warm clothing and a windbreaker, as it can get windy and chilly on the peaks. Hiking poles and gloves are a nice-to-have and will make things a lot more comfortable too. Highly recommended.

We finally made it to see Cradle Mountain and the Boat shed on Dove Lake. Such iconic locations, and a must place to see when in Tasmania. We caught the bus from vistor centre, which saved alot of walking. Tracks are well signed and toilets are very clean. We highly recommend you visit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🇦🇺👍

All I wanted from my trip to Tassie was to see a wombat. Here, I finally found one. So cute and made my day. It was freezing and raining, but I also loved the walk around the lakes and back to Ronny Creek. There seems to be a good variety of hikes available for different abilities. Shuttles run regularly to whisk you away out of the freezing cold.

Beautiful national park, the staff at the visitor center were lovely and really helpful and the hike was perfect. I sow a lot of wombat in ronny creek, i went to marion lookout to have a really good view on the lakes and then i did the loop around dove lake.

It’s an unmissable destination for nature lovers. The dramatic scenery of rugged mountains mirrored in the still waters of Dove Lake is absolutely breathtaking, especially on a clear day. The park is home to many rare and precious species of flora and fauna, making it a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. If you have the time and stamina, a 2-4 day hiking trip through the area offers an unforgettable immersive experience. The journey from Launceston can be quite challenging, particularly in rainy or snowy weather, so joining a guided tour is highly recommended for safety. Even on cloudy or misty days, Cradle Mountain has a completely different charm — the moody atmosphere creates a sense of mystery and wonder, almost like you’ve reached the edge of the world. If you come here, you’ll truly feel the magic and beauty of nature — it’s a place that leaves a lasting impression on every visitor.

Travelling on the Spirit of Tasmania is most definitely the best way I find to travel to & from Tassie for holidays & photoshoots. I can take my own car, taking as much luggage & gear as I need, and return back home to Geelong with lots of uniquely Tasmanian produce like honey, ciders, raspberry jams, gins & wines. The service from the staff, both onboard and on land is exceptional....friendly, efficient, attentive and helpful. All of my 14 crossings have been comfortable & relaxing with the on deck furniture, photos of Tassie on the walls, or the views from the windows. There is plenty of variety of good food from both the TMK and the bar on Deck 9; and entertainment in the cinemas, performers on Deck 9 or people promoting Tasmanian produce. I choose to travel overnight and book 'inside cabins' with their own toilet & showers, as there is less rock & roll if there are any swells & rough seas etc in the Strait. Also, that way, I am not wasting a day travelling and can get going first thing in the mornings to see, photograph & experience the beauty of Tassie. The embarking and disembarking processes are quick & efficient, especially considering the number of people & vehicles that are travelling most times. It is also a lovely view and experience to see both Geelong(my hometown) and Devonport from a different POV when standing on the decks photographing.

This was our 3rd time to Tasmania on the Spirit., enjoyed it all. We have taken motorhome before, then tent another time. This time travelled in our vehicle to hire a van in TAS. Staff doing the boarding were great in directing traffic on and off. Very clean and comfortable whichever way you choose and we have done all modes. Staff very helpful, food and drinks great. For us the Spirit is our favourite way to get to Tasmania. Hopefully I’ll get to sail on one of the new SOT although this trip possibly is our last( sadly) We love Tassie, the people, history and the amazing scenery everywhere.. highly recommend this journey to everyone❤️❤️❤️

I traveled to Tasmania recently for a 10 days holidays with my Amiga Anne, & we went on board the Spirit of Tasmania Ferry with Anne’s car. We booked on line, travelling by day with reckliner seats & booked a cabin on our trip back to Geelong port last Sunday night 12/10/25. Being both pensioners we got a huge discount on our tickets. We both enjoyed both trips there & back, & I will recommend to all my friends & family to have a go & travel to Tasmania with the ferry! Thank you! Zhennie Thomson

Love taking the Spirit of Tasmania to Tassie for trips. Very easy when you want to take your car (or not)! Great staff across the board, and the onboard amenities are great, including the cabins (can only speak on behalf of the twin or bunk rooms, however am sure all variations are great). Comfortable and well priced. We personally wouldn’t choose to travel to Tassie and back any other way.

Our second journey on the Spirit and we loved it! Our amenities were spotlessly clean and comfortable. Meals and services provided were excellent! Praise to the staff and crew for their efforts.

I had a wonderful trip over on the Spirit of Tasmania. From the lady who gave me my boarding pass with a friendly smile and clear directions for where to go next, to the man who made my vegetable pizza and was thrilled when I told him I enjoyed it. The experience was fun, easy and relaxing. Ammenities excellent.

I recommend you do a tour to get the most out of learning about the breeding program and conservation efforts. Going around the sanctuary by yourself can get a bit boring and depending on the time of the day, the animals may be hiding. The sunset experience was a surprise for us as we learnt a lot and got to see what we came there for especially after only doing a self-tour. The tour guide was very enthusiastic and has definitely explained everything in detail. We got to pet the Tasmanian devils which was the best part.

Amazing place. Staff were amazing, we had a sunset experience with Zoe as our guide, can highly recommend!! I have never fallen in love with an animal so badly and I work with and volunteer with a lot of different animals. The Devils have got so much character and they are super cute (if a lil rough around the edges on occassion). Yes, the quolls are cute as, but the devils stole my heart completely.

Took the kids to Cradle Mountain for the first time. Unfortunately, it was raining so we couldn’t do many outdoor activities. Instead, we decided to visit and feed the Tasmanian Devils — and it turned out to be such a great experience! The kids absolutely loved the direct encounter, and as Western Australians, it was really special for them to see these iconic animals up close. Highly recommend this for families with kids and do the feeding too.

We really enjoyed the Night Feeding Tour at Devils @ Cradle! It was a unique experience getting to see the Tasmanian devils up close, as well as the quolls. The guide was passionate and informative, and it was fascinating to learn about the conservation work the team are doing to protect these species. A must-do experience when visiting Cradle Mountain!

Excellent guided tour at feeding time for Tassie Devils and Quolls. Guide was a genuine expert explaining everything from feeding habits, breeding behaviour, threats and future plans for their sustainability. Well worth the entry that helps the animals.

We had the 'Devils feeding' (5.30pm) and the next day at 12pm 'The Joey encounter'. Our guide, Renee, gave us an excellent tour each time. During the feeding (warning: they use cut up wallaby carcasses, humanely harvested) Renee gave a commentary on each individual Devil, general habits, endangered status, facial tumour disease and improvements for them as a species. All this while the Devils had a tug-o-war with a fur covered rib-cage (some engaging in fighting and their trademark screaming). Next we saw the dainty eastern Quolls and then the possum-like spotted tail Quolls (2hrs total). The 'Joey encounter' was very different, with Renee bringing in two 7 month old Devils in a sack , which she took around the group for photos and a gentle pat. One sucking her finger the whole time. Next we visited 2 eastern Quoll Joeys and also got to photograph and pat them. All the while Renee kept up a commentary and answered questions. Overall both tours were fascinating and enlightening. It's great to see our endangered wildlife up close and personal and it gives me hope that we can bring species like these back 'from the brink' by protecting them and their habitat.

A great experience, loved the Tasmanian sweets. Our guide was very knowledgeable and obviously loved her job. I probably should have read the explanations better but I did not realise I could have gone back to the sanctuary the next day after my sunset tour. Please remind people in future, we missed out thinking we'd have to beg to be let back in or pay again.

Very cool place to see lots of gorgeous unique art work, beautiful gifts too. Wall of paper so darn cool, & the paper mache life size figurines WOW, highly recommend visiting & the pictures made from magazines.... Mind blowing 💗💗💗

A highlight of Burnie, a place where you can view and purchase local artisans wares. Also has a good tourist information and Papermaking workshop,...Definitely worth doing. Cafe is busy and average price.

Well worth a visit to watch many various arts and crafts being made. There's also a pictorial history of Burnie and a couple of really interesting installations.

Kids throughly enjoyed the paper making tour inside. Learnt alot and even dicided to purchase a paper making kit after the tour. Our tour guide was full of knowledge about all things paper. Would recomend if your in the area and if the weather is not great, as was our case, perfect indoor activity. Also has art work and various other stores.

Made paper, looked at restored coal loader made in Burnie. Little penguins are located by board walk. Local artists display their art. Very interesting.

A must see when in Burnie. Take a paper making tour and see how paper is made. The Makers' Workshop has very helpful and friendly staff, especially Darren on the paper making tour; he's very knowledgeable and passionate about the paper making process and it shows; an asset to the place. You will have the opportunity to ask questions about the process. You also get the chance to make paper at the end, awesome experience.

Koala Conservation Reserve provides a wealth of interesting information about koalas. The koalas live in very natural environments, mostly sleeping high up in the trees. Our group was very lucky to spot one resting on the timber, and we enjoyed a wonderful show featuring this super cute koala!

Visited yesterday and had a wonderful time! The staff were incredibly kind and even took the time to point out the koalas to us. It was heartwarming to see both the staff and volunteers so passionate about what they do. Unfortunately, we came a notice about a missing koala, which was really sad to hear but we were glad to see that many dedicated volunteers were out searching high and low for it…Hope that the lovely koala is found safe and sound! Highly recommend to visit!

Bushland Escape / Koala Conservation Reserve This reserve offers a fantastic glimpse into Australian wildlife. We saw koalas on the two elevated treetop boardwalks which wind through the eucalyptus forest. The koalas were generally still—moving a paw slightly, then going right back to sleep—but it was wonderful to see them in their natural habitat. Beyond the main koala viewing area, the rest of the trails are natural bushland, perfect for spotting more active animals like wallabies, echidnas, and various native birds. A fun fact for wildlife enthusiasts: if you're very lucky (or perhaps unlucky!), you might spot a Copperhead snake. They are endemic to Phillip Island and are venomous, but they are very shy and generally avoid people.

If you prefer a natural environment to see the wild animals, this is the place to go. No staff are there to control the Koala, so you need to pay 100% attention to spot them. Not too crowded compared to other zoo. Easy access with lots of free parking.

The Koala Conservation Reserve is an amazing place to get up close with Australia’s iconic koalas! The walking trails are peaceful and well-maintained, allowing you to observe these adorable creatures in a natural, safe environment. The staff are knowledgeable and passionate, sharing interesting facts about koalas and their habitat. It’s both educational and heartwarming — a must-visit for wildlife lovers and families alike!

Such a great place to see Koalas up close but still in their natural habitat (as much as is possible!) - complete with soaking wet fur from the rain! So much better seeing them here than in a zoo or wildlife park. And all the Wallabies very active and visible from one of the platforms.

Saw lots of koalas in amore natural setting than many wildlife parks. We also saw wallabies and lots of birds. Lovely way to while away a couple of hours.

A super cute experience I would highly recommend all of friends to come to a visit to see the little penguin. We got the chance to stay in the experience ticket which cost more however I will say that’s really deserved because you really can see the penguin came back to the home. Also was the experience ticket you have your own bridge which you can see the penguin get back home to avoid the general tickets stand crowded.

Phillip Island is such a lovely destination! It’s easily accessible by car via the bridge and there are beautiful viewpoints around the island. The main town is charming and the beaches are stunning — perfect for relaxing or taking a walk. A great place for a day trip or a short getaway.

Incredible experience, over 1000 penguins returning home every evening. We paid extra for premium plus seating and the penguins were walking right up to us. We went in June and Penguins arrived at 5:50pm. The rain held off just long enough for us to wait about an hour and half. Tip bring gloves, scarfs, raincoat and thermos in winter. It still gets very cold and windy by the water. I might add there’s no photos allowed past sunset but we got lucky and got to see this guy come back just before sunset.

We heard so much about this experience. We could not wait to see the penguins. We decided to go on a tour and the last stop in the tour was the penguin parade. It far exceeded our expectations. However, we should’ve purchased the VIP tickets for a better view. Also, I suggest having a puffer hat and a scarf because it was cold! I really loved the gift shop because there were different types of gifts, depending upon people’s preferences and multiple communities were represented too. I got the cutest tea towel and A-to-Z animals book for my baby.

Strongly recommend getting the penguin premium or plus. The viewing points are so much better. It’s pricey but totally worth it! What a wonderful visit!

Great experience at the Penguin Parade. Recommend shelling out for the Penguin Plus if you can. Bring a jacket and be prepared for it to be busy. But very well organised and clear instructions from friendly staff. Enjoyed the talk before to learn more about these amazing animals.

Our Go West tour was specifically for my wife and I to see the Penguins in their habitat and to watch the Parade. We were able take video and pictures along the boardwalk by the ocean. The boardwalk was safe for my wife to walk and we definitely enjoyed seeing the penguins; I mention this because it shows how important safety is to this organization for folks who come to visit especially if they are physically disabled or families with buggies. And seeing homes made for the little penguins and the well kept natural homes for them was amazing. When it was time to go to the visitors center we enjoyed an early dinner. May I say that with the number of guests eating at the restaurant the quality and plating of each dish we ordered was delicious and well presented. I observed your restaurant manager, Heni, take the time to look for guests whose food had been made but not picked up because they were sitting where the buzzers didn’t reach them. In all my time I’ve never seen that level of customer service before. We so enjoyed our overall experience of the penguin parade even with the rain and earlier then expected closure due to safety concerns with thunder and lightning. In addition, I am writing to let you know what an amazing group of people you have working at the Phillip Island Nature Parks. Every person we came in contact with was kind, helpful, and wonderful. Stephanie and others assisted my wife who needed the buggy down to and from the viewing platform as walking is strenuous for her; your staff assisted and made sure she had a place to view the penguin's waddling to their homes. On my walk back to the visitor center as my wife was on the buggy one of your orange vested staff shared information about the bandicoots and the story of their reemergence on the island (I’m so sorry I didn’t get your name, you were knowledgeable and friendly). What an amazing hidden gem! Moonlit Sanctuary is truly special, tucked away in the outback area yet offering so much to enjoy. From the warm and welcoming staff to the beautiful nature, pond and animals specially Koala and Kangaroos. It’s the perfect spot for quality family time, peaceful, clean, and full of charm. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing escape with loved ones! Specially Kids, they’ll love feeding Koala and Kangaroo.

A nice place to see many Australian native animals up close. They all seem very well cared for, and the park feels peaceful and pleasant to walk around. We caught a few of the keeper talks, which were interesting and educational. We spent about three hours here, including time for our elderly companion’s frequent toilet visits, lunch, and never felt rushed. The café food was delicious and reasonably priced. We bought our tickets a day before on Klook, which was slightly cheaper. We chose this park because it is not too big, just right for seniors.

We did the Behind the Scenes tour today and it was absolutely incredible! Callum was ah-maz-ing — kind, knowledgeable, and so passionate about the animals. They made the whole experience engaging and memorable from start to finish. The sanctuary itself is beautiful and clearly well cared for. My dad remembers bringing us here when we were kids, and now getting to visit again with my own son was such a special full-circle moment. It felt both nostalgic and completely fresh. What stood out most was the genuine love and dedication the staff have for the animals. Their passion was evident in every interaction, from sharing insightful information to ensuring each animal’s well-being. The surroundings were beautifully maintained, creating a serene atmosphere that allowed visitors to appreciate the animals in their natural setting. It was more than just a visit; it was an experience that deepened my appreciation for Australia’s wildlife and the people committed to protecting it. True conservation begins with connection, and Moonlit Sanctuary embodies that beautifully.

My second visit to this incredible sanctuary was on a late Sunday morning. It was moderately crowded, but the short ticket counter queue cleared quickly. However, I highly recommend visiting during weekdays early morning to avoid the crowds. During peak times, the kangaroos and wallabies are less likely to approach you for food, as everyone is trying to feed them and they are probably full. It’s quite amusing to see people begging the kangaroos and wallabies to come and eat their food. 😂 Despite the crowds, this sanctuary still lives up to its name and is definitely one of the must-visit places in Melbourne. The koala experience is worth the extra money, and the staff are all incredibly friendly. ❤️ Visited on August 24, 2025, a Sunday.

Visited on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Sanctuary was very busy however had a lovely experience. Got to learn about the Australian wildlife and interact with the kangaroos/wallabies. Overall a terrific idea for someone to visit with kids and also those without. Spent about 3 hours overall.

This is a very nice sanctuary where you can get a koala experience (pic and petting no holding), a great one to one with Wallabies and Kangaroos and a chance to see dingos, birds and many other great once in a lifetime experiences! Definitely recommend!

Visited Peninsula Hot Springs and had an unforgettable experience. The setting is absolutely beautiful — surrounded by nature, birds, and gentle steam rising from the pools. Each hot spring has its own character, from quiet cave-style baths to hilltop pools with panoramic views of the peninsula. The temperature variety makes it easy to find your perfect spot to relax. The entire place is clean, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed to help you slow down and unwind. The staff were friendly and professional, explaining everything clearly at check-in. I especially loved the hilltop pool at sunrise, where you can soak while watching the sky change color — truly magical. There’s also a café serving healthy food and smoothies, which makes the experience feel complete. Whether you come solo, with friends, or as a couple, it’s the perfect escape from the city — pure relaxation in nature.

We were 3 friends celebrating a 50th birthday. The staff were kind, efficient and went above and beyond to make us feel special. The Eco-Lodge rooms we booked were amazing. I could not fault anything. Clean design, quality products and the calmness and relaxation that middle-aged busy and tired moms long for! The dinner was delicious, the wine was great, and a hot beverage to take away an unexpected treat. We did the Fire and Ice Wellness Activity, and the amazing Emily helped us feel safe, calm and grounded during the ice-bath. We were initially apprehensive taking part, but it turned out to be an amazing experience. We learned so much from this 45 minute experience and would actually do it again! Fiona at the check-in desk is a great, and it felt as if we have known her for years. I want to note that the security and management of this massive facility is really good. Staff members are visible, easy to communicate with, and well trained. They seem to all enjoy what they are doing. At night, security was visible and good, asking if we needed help or had any questions. Our spa treatment with Ms Add and her 2 colleagues was exceptional. The staff are clearly well trained and professional, kind, and good at what they do.

We visited Peninsula Hot Springs ♨️ in the late evening with family, and it was such a relaxing experience. Though a bit crowded, the atmosphere was calm and enjoyable. The place is very kids-friendly, with pools of different temperatures perfect for all ages. The hilltop pool was the highlight offering a stunning panoramic view, especially during sunset. The warm water and cool evening air made it unforgettable. Despite the crowd, it was worth it and a great family experience overall.

It was well worth the long drive coming here. The Peninsula Hot Springs is a great location for a family getaway and relaxation is guaranteed. There's plenty of parking and the facilities for changing and showering are very clean. There's lockers and towels available for a fee as well, should you need those. You're given a robe to use and I'm glad I brought thongs for my feet as it made moving around much easier. It's much larger than I had imagined. There were so many pools to choose from at various locations. I tried the 30° pool as well as the 40° pool and both were excellent. There's a sauna and even a hammam. It was a cold night so I wasn't brave enough to try the ice cave or the ice pool. There's also spa and wellness packages but I will try that next time. The location is gorgeous and with opening and closing times so accommodating, you can watch the sun set, as we did, while you're enjoying the view of the trees and listening to natural wildlife sounds. Tickets for us were $55 dollars each so it's not overly expensive but it's still something a family might want to plan for. It was definitely a fantastic experience and I do recommend this place for families looking for some rest and relaxation.

Sorely disappointed as my partner and I were expecting various heated metal coils fashioned in an artistic way upon the hill ("hot springs"). I'd been a fan of the spring ever since I was a wee bairn. So malleable and applicable to many situations. My very first invention in fact was shoes with springs on the bottom of them so you can jump anywhere you please, in style. So being a lifelong fan of the spring you can imagine my disappointment when we stumbled across about 50 hot baths! Lucky I always bring extra springs with me wherever I go. The baths were indeed pleasant to sit in. I chose to free ball (towel wise) and walk around with no towels or robes weighing me down. The benefits of this were that I could run from pool to pool in a speedy manner. Not good for prying eyes though. These double ds have a mind of their own without a sports bra. My Noel was a bit confused about the whole situation and I walked out from the change rooms to find him swimming in the duck pond. I think he enjoyed it though and the moss seemed to make his skin extra smooth. Lovely place

I had an incredible experience at the Hot Springs! We opted for the Dine & Bath package, and it was absolutely worth it. I’d visited before for general bathing, but this took it to a whole new level. The food was delicious, and the service was exceptional throughout our visit. One of the highlights was spending time in the Spa Dreaming Centre — it was incredibly calming and relaxing. We also enjoyed the general bathing area, which was just as lovely. The entire property is serene and beautifully maintained, with immaculate gardens that added to the peaceful atmosphere. Truly, it felt like a little slice of heaven. I look forward to returning again

My husband and I went here for a day visit. Firstly the lady's at reception are super welcoming and very friendly. There are plenty of pool options, you will have to get comfortable with the idea of bathing with strangers 😂 because it is super busy, but once you move past that it is really quite lovely. Even the walk around to the different pools is lovely. They offer lots of options to relax, hammocks, bean bag style chairs, benches and big domes you can go into to lay down. The hill top pool was definitely a highlight, offering a 360° view of the surrounding hills. But a personal favourite was the cave pool. I will definitely be coming back on my next Melbourne trip!

5/4/25 We had an absolutely fantastic night on the Blues Train! We had had to wait for 5 years for the experience as we had previously booked in 2020..... Anyway, finally we managed to get 7 of us together and it was fabulous! We started with the meal. I feel the directions could have been clearer, but there was enough food when I got there (larger men in our party would have preferred seconds/larger portions). The meal was tasty. We had beef, chicken, carrots, mashed potato, salad, a bread roll, and coleslaw. Dessert (lemon tart) was too sweet and the only option, which was disappointing. The music in each carriage was great. My order of favourites would be B, A, D, C but others in our group had different favourites. Something for everyone. Anna Scionti amazed us all with her cigar box guitar skills 👌 👏 🎸 It would have been nice to know about the drink package options beforehand, to have been able to choose ahead rather than work it out in the queue, but we managed! We're so glad the Blues Train survived after 2020! P.S. nice to have security in each carriage, especially when a few people got a bit tipsy! There wasn't any trouble, just merriment, but nice to have their presence for 'just in case'!

My friend and I flew from Newcastle to share the adventures of the Blues Train.. We had the most amazing time.. The staff were super friendly, the Blues artists were fun and entertaining and the added experience of the train was awesome. I havn't stopped smiling.. Highly recommend 🌞

We did the lunch show & we can’t wait to go again. The train ride was amazing, the musicians were very talented & played a variety of blues. The buffet food was very tasty and nearly all options were gluten free. The catering staff and the train staff were so friendly & helpful, even on a 35.deg day. Make sure you book accommodation early, took us a while to find something.

Had such a great time. I loved the cross section and varied music even though it was all blues. The carriages are not over crowded ( the perfect amount ) I would recommend this to anyone who has a love of music especially Blues

Had an absolute blast. The music was great , the atmosphere was amazing and we had a great time. I do think there need to be better food options though. The snack box was tasty but not really adequate for the length of time on the train , the free flowing drinks and as the event starts so early it makes it difficult to eat dinner beforehand. Incorporating some kind of hot food e.g sliders, pies etc at the halfway point (Drysdale) would make it an even better experience. Thanks Blues Train for responding. I do believe that you need to look at recent reviews and take the comments re the food "On Board". It is not easy to eat dinner that early and most of the recent reviews that I have read have mentioned the inadequacy of the food. I think you need to meet the expectations of your clients and provide better food options. If you did it would elevate the experience from 4 Star to 5 Star.

The experience of traveling the train and entertainment was fantastic. How ever … I am so glad I had a late lunch as the food provided was revolting and un eatable. Given a grazing box with warm cheese & dip. Deli meat was off, it went in the bin. Drinks limited only providing one per stop. Where as there website reflected only allowed three at a time . But would only give you one drink ! Very disappointed with food and drink provided.

Boy, did this give me the blues. I went on this ten years ago and it was amazing — but the change in structure has turned it into an absolute mess. At each stop, you’re only allowed to get a drink for yourself — no one else in your group — and there are only four people physically serving the entire train. Everyone in your group has to queue for their own drink, including any elderly parents you’ve brought along. This also means you have to choose between going to the toilet, queuing for a drink, or queuing to save a seat on the carriage. You can’t do all three, and either way, you’ll spend the entire 30-minute stop in a queue. There are a maximum of four toilets per stop serving the entire train. No one explained the drinks rules in advance or how we would move between carriages, so everyone was confused and frustrated right from the start. Calling it a shambles doesn’t do it justice. We missed out on drinks, people were peeing in the bushes, and we couldn’t sit with our group on the carriage because there’s no structure to the seating arrangements. The staff were rude — I actually had to have a word with one of them after they referred to me as “that woman” for being in the way. The whole process completely undermined what would otherwise be a great musical experience. What a shame — this used to be brilliant.

Visited the MCG for the AC/DC concert, and it was an unforgettable experience! The energy, the sound quality, and the atmosphere were absolutely electric. The stadium was well-organised, easy to navigate, and the vibe was just incredible. A perfect venue for a legendary show! ⚡🎸

My daughter and I, visiting from England, had a great time on the tour of the MCG. Expertly guided by club member Anne, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience on the eve of the AFL Grand Final. As we anticipated, the changing rooms and Long Room were out of bounds so close to the big event, but these minor disappointments were soon forgotten as the rest of the tour was so informative and inspiring. Should you have the opportunity to also visit the adjoining museum you must do so, as this is a phenomenal experience. Many thanks to Bill, the very helpful volunteer who entertained me here. A real highlight of our trip to the city.

This is the second largest cricket ground. We were welcome to visit the cricket ground. Each and everything of the auditorium was clearly presented to us. We saw the cricketers landing area , their changing rooms , Physio therapy rooms , resting rooms . The ground was being maintained. We also saw the place where the speakers sit , the management sitting area cafeteria and so on . The best part is the museum. Very informative. Must visit whole you are at Australia don’t miss it.

Purchased a Tour and Australian Sports Museum Ticket. Best buy! Tour was fantastic and the museum has been well set out. Highly recommend both but if you're not a museum fan at least do the MCG Tour.

It has been years since I was last at the Shrine and I cannot remember it looking so well kept and iconic. This area is such a wonderful part of Melbourne to walk around and to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for Australia. The trees around the Shrine are dedicated to various Battalions and units throughout the ADF history. Thank you so much to everyone involved in the maintenance of one of Australia's most sacred areas.

A beautiful and peaceful place that I often visit. The architecture is impressive, and the view from the top gives a great look over the Melbourne skyline. The lush gardens around it add to the serene atmosphere. It’s a war memorial built to honour all Australians who have served and continue to serve in wars and peacekeeping missions. There’s also a museum inside with interesting displays and personal stories. It’s a place where you could sit for hours, switch off, and reflect. Definitely worth a visit.

It is an amazing place to visit, to learn the history of war. You’d better allow 3 hours to visit the place. There are street parking available that peak hours $4/ hour and off-peak $2/ hour.

I were surprised there is no charge for visiting Shrine of Remembrance. Donations are accepted. Great place to visit and learn about Australian military involvement around the world 🌎 The architecture is impressive and the view of the city is breathtaking. The place is truly grand and beautiful, absolutely magnificent. If you visit Melbourne, this is definitely a must-see. Underneath the structure, there’s a museum that you can visit for free.

We really enjoyed our visit to Melbourne Skydeck! The 360° views of the city were absolutely stunning and gave us a whole new perspective of Melbourne. Definitely worth a visit if you want to see the city from above.

Our visit to Melbourne Skydeck was a truly memorable experience. It’s one of the best spots in the city to enjoy a panoramic view of Melbourne from high above. The observation deck gives a 360-degree view, allowing you to take in the skyline, river, and iconic landmarks all at once. Watching the sunset from the top was magical — the colors in the sky changed beautifully, making it perfect for photos. Many people also recommend the sunrise view for a peaceful start to the day. The place is very family-friendly, and our kids were excited to spot famous buildings and watch the trams below. The interactive displays made the experience more fun for them. We tried some food and drinks from the café; although the prices were a bit expensive, we really enjoyed the mocktails, which were refreshing and tasty. If you’re visiting Melbourne, this is a must-see attraction — especially for first-time visitors who want to see the city from above. A short visit can give you a great glimpse of the entire city. Overall, it’s a wonderful experience for both kids and adults.

My 1st stop in Melbourne was here! I mean there is no other place with these views. Definitely a must for sunset, or just night views. You can get drinks and snacks too.

Very good value if you buy the whole package online. The 3D simulator is very good and the views from the top excellent.. and there's the highest bar in Australia at the top.

I wouldn't recommend to get the edge ticket as you can see the view just before it without paying anything. I definitely recommend theater experience! Worth every penny!

A bit like sealife we were underwhelmed. Im not sure Melbourne Zoo lives up to its expectations of a world class Zoo. It had so much potential. Now we are spoilt!! San Diego Zoo for example, and even Singapore. Personally I preferred Perth Zoo. I think the big thing for us was what appeared to be the lack of animals. Yes I know they could be sleeping but it felt like there was mostly only one of everything and you had buckleys chance seeing it. Funny enough you actually go to a zoo to see animals. Some of the enclosures felt small and not really good enough. There were also no shows like most other zoos, normally a daily programme. Also a lot of sections were closed either for a private function (not acceptable) or i don't know what. As with every entertainment event Food and Beverages are always a rip off but the quality, variety and costs here were terrible, again compared to other zoos. To be totally honest for the cost it's not really worth it. Fantastic for tiny kids otherwise forget it.

Had a really great time at Melbourne Zoo, the weather was a little crazy so not all the animals were out but it was still okay. the meerkats are so adorable, they are definitely used to people. Few food places within the zoo out didn’t get the opportunity to eat at them. Found a couple of gift shops with a huge range of memorabilia. You get to walk inside a cage with lemurs in it which was really cool. zoo is open from 9am onwards. I suggest bringing an umbrella because the ones in the gift shop are $40. There is also a beautiful Japanese garden and a koi fish pond. Great function rooms.

we spent 3 hours here (skipped a handful of exhibits). great zoo to visit. super easy to navigate, great variety of animals. animals look well taken care of, with a lot of thought and effort put into their habitats and enrichment. lots of education for visitors. appreciate all the conservation efforts and information as well. loved this zoo and highly recommend it.

Melbourne Zoo is an amazing place to spend a day. The grounds are beautifully kept, and the habitats feel natural and spacious, giving you the sense that the animals are truly cared for. Don't expect to see all the animals. Some of them are sleeping or just hiding from the public. Not all of us like cameras and lots of attention. Hahaha 😁 There’s a fantastic variety of wildlife — from lions and gorillas to playful lemurs and the always-fascinating butterfly house. It’s also very family-friendly, with plenty of activities and areas for kids to learn and explore.

We had a fantastic day out! The zoo was huge and had so many animals to see. The food was yummy and prices were super affordable. Only bummer was the butterfly garden was closed when we visited. Would definitely come back, there's just so much to see and enjoy!

Had a wonderful visit to the zoo to see the new baby giraffe. We are members and love visiting the zoo as a family. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. Loved the butterfly house but was disappointed at the Asian tourists trying to touch the butterflies. There really needs to be an attendant in the butterfly house the whole time because even after pointing to signs not to touch these people were touching. Made my heart sad for the little butterflies.

visited the Melbourne Zoo on a Friday and was genuinely impressed. It’s hands down one of the best zoos I’ve ever been to. The variety of animals is excellent, and what really stood out to me was the thoughtful, intelligent design of the enclosures. They allow you to get remarkably close to the animals — much closer than in many other zoos — without ever compromising the animals’ comfort or safety. While the ticket price is on the higher side, I found it absolutely worth it once I was inside. You can really tell that a lot of care and effort goes into making this place special — both for visitors and for the animals. Highly recommended!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely the Best Zoo I’ve Ever Been To! Werribee Open Range Zoo is truly magical! From the friendly and welcoming staff to the spacious animal enclosures and spotless grounds, everything about this place is exceptional. The new state-of-the-art elephant enclosure is incredible — it’s even larger than all of Melbourne Zoo put together and that’s just one section of the park! We did the Giraffe Animal Experience, which turned out to be so much more than just a tour. We hopped on one of the safari buses and were taken right into the open plains, surrounded by incredible animals roaming freely — seeing the rhino family up close was an unforgettable highlight. The behind-the-scenes giraffe experience was amazing too. We got to feed the giraffes, explore their enclosure, and learn so much about them. Our guide, JESSE was absolutely fantastic! His passion for the animals, knowledge, and fun personality made the whole experience come alive. You can tell he truly loves what he does, and it made our visit extra special. My husband and I were lucky it was raining so it was just us 2 on the tour . The zoo’s wide-open spaces make you feel like you’ve been transported straight to Africa — it’s breathtaking how much room the animals have to roam. If you’re visiting the Melbourne area, Werribee Zoo is an absolute must-see. It was the highlight of our trip, and I can’t recommend it enough!

Had a wonderful time at Werribee Open Range Zoo! The safari-style setup makes it feel like a real African adventure. The animals looked healthy and relaxed, especially the hippos by the water. Great place to visit on a weekday—less crowded and easy to explore. Perfect for families and nature lovers. #genastar

So good to see how great this place has grown and improved over the years. The new elephant 🐘 enclosure is amazing 👏 the safari bus tour is a good way to see the animals in their natural habitat and be free to roam the open spaces. I would highly recommend this ad a great day outdoors for the whole family.

We love visiting Werribee Open Range Zoo! It has many animals, and it’s a fun, exciting day for the whole family. They’ve opened the new Elephant Trail, a 21-hectare, state-of-the-art space for the elephants to roam, with beautiful, well-designed environments. We enjoy going there, and the kids love it too! It’s a day full of adventure, learning, and fun. Highly recommend! 🐘🦒🦓

Paid $55 for the entrance ticket and an additional $60 for the Deluxe Safari, totally worth it! The deluxe safari gets you much closer to the animals, and the guide gives detailed explanations along the way. They stop for photos too, which is nice. We accidentally walked past the deluxe tour waiting point (it’s just next to the normal safari area along the elephant trail 😂), so just note, the normal safari cars are giraffe-painted, while the private/deluxe ones are zebra-painted. Easier to spot! Our guide, Daniel, was awesome, super knowledgeable and engaging. He even showed us animal items like fur, horns, and skeletons, which made it extra interesting. The small group size also meant he could spend more time explaining things to everyone. The only downside is the limited range of animals on the safari itself, mainly rhinos, giraffes, zebras, ostriches, and camels roaming freely. You’ll also see bisons, Mongolian horses, and (I think) gazelles from a distance behind fences. Would’ve been nice to see elephants or hippos too, but it makes sense since the vehicles aren’t caged like in other safaris around the world. That said, you can still see elephants, lions, and more by walking around the zoo afterwards, so it’s not a dealbreaker. Another plus, the zoo has a baby feeding and diaper changing room, super clean and even has toys to keep toddlers occupied while you clean up. Overall, a great experience! Would definitely recommend the deluxe safari for a more personal and educational tour. 🦒🦏🦓

Loved it. Gorgeous surrounds. Fabulous sculptures and murals. Lots of activities for the kids. Beautiful native flowers. Fairywrens galore & of course the wild animals. Sad to hear Kalinda the Cheetah had passed, as had their wild dogs but the elephants are thriving in their new enclosure.

The open Zoo is awesome. I went on a school holiday so free for the kids. That was wonderful. No words to explain. We have two safari one is free with the entry ticket and the premium costs dollar fifty each. Our van went very near to the animals while the free safari was near too but goes only on road. Don’t wait to visit the zoo. I am delighted to post the naughty lions of the zoo.

Visited Geelong Eastern Beach area on our way back from Botanical Garden. Beach has cafe, washroom, green area to sit, Giant Wheel and pool area for adults and children. Plenty of Parking was available when we visited. Its a nice place to relax and chill. Recommended.

The well‑equipped play area kept the kids entertained, with plenty of open grass, picnic and BBQ facilities, and clean amenities. The views of Corio Bay were simply stunning—perfect backdrop for family photos and sandy play. We were delighted to learn that the children’s sea pool at Eastern Beach—just by the park—is set to reopen from 1 November through to April. The shallow wading area, with its diving tower, springboards and fountains, is patrolled by lifeguards during the summer season . That gives us another seaside treat later this year! This is beautiful part of the world & Eastern Beach Reserve is an airy space to enjoy a full view across the bay. This is a great place to walk, run & play. Includes a children's playground and is ideal for all outside activities. I certainly found our visit here very relaxing & great place for quiet reflection.

Good place to relax if the crowd is less. Beware of seagulls, do not feed them. Keep your eatables covered else the swoop down and snatch it away.

This is my FAVOURITE BEACH!! And it’s the BEST BEACH I’ve been to out of all the beaches in Melbourne!! The most Cleanest and beautiful beach I’ve been to!!! Absolutely stunning!! We don’t go to any other beach we always come to eastern beach!! Very relaxing!! Absolutely recommend this beach to all my family and friends!!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Whether you're staying in Lorne or just passing through on the the great ocean road the Erskine falls is a must. There are two views of the fall, and upper and lower. The upper is a fairly easy walk and it's all concrete stairs. The lower falls again is an all concrete step path but it's a good climb down and up. There are 2 benches along away if you need to stop. The lower falls viewing area is well worth it. The day we walked it it had rain and was drizzling but didn't make it bad walking. Overall this is a great shirt hike with beautiful views. Highly recommended

Erskine Falls inland from Lorne is a GEM :) Yes, well recommended. It is a about 12 km out of town, follow the signs. The road is through beautiful forest. There is parking at the start of the walk. The walk is down many stairs. The stairs to the first lookout is not too bad (80m). Allow 5 minutes down. The second lookout is down about 200 more steep stairs (200m). Allow another 15 minutes down. Then allow 30 minutes back up. Need about an hour all up. Need rest on the way down, and take your time coming back up. The walk was quite busy with people, considering the remoteness and fitness level required. No tour busses, mostly "locals". The view of the Erskine Falls is well worth the effort. Yes, well recommended.

Easy 80 meter walk to top lookout. Quite a few (concreted) steps. 220 m (lot more steps) to bottom view. No toilets here. The 2× other walks were closed as at Sept 2025.

Worth the visit, about a 15 minute drive from Lorne (solid road) with quite a big parking in front. The upper falls are a 2 minute walk with some stairs from the parking lot. Very minimal. The lower part of the falls is 200 meters down and about 100 stairs. Big waterfall with two view points.

Amazing!!! So pretty. Walked to the main falls and also the next falls down. It was very slippery after the rain and the steps down to the lower lookout are steep (keep in mind for kids or elderly people) but the upper lookout is great too!

Stunning falls! Such a beautiful place with 2 views upper and then lower. Lot more steps to lower but worth the effort if you are able.

Park spots are limited here. Two look outs down there. First very easy fron the top just couple of minutes. Second you nedd to walk down the stairs not too many and two benches on the way for rest. Put one hour to visit around. Very beautiful.

Brilliant... Richard the tour guide really brought the place to life, fairly pulsating with enthusiasm as he delivered fascinating historical details and anecdotes about the shady past of this icon of the shipwreck coast. A must stop if you're passing, and we'll worth the drive even if you aren't. Rumour has it that the accommodation is blessed with some magical fertility energy too, as apparently those lighthouse keepers had 9 or 10 kids each!.. great fun!

We stayed in the Lighthouse Keepers Cottage and it was amazing to be able to wander around the grounds at sunset. Despite the cold and the wind. The lighthouse itself is closed at the moment, but entry price reflects this. The Telegraph Station on site is well worth a visit.

The history of this light house was amazing. We started with a history lesson from Graham who was engaging and extremely knowledgeable. After listening to Graham’s talk, it gave you an insight into how hard life would have been on this station as we walked through the rest of the buildings. Graham also suggested we check out the cemetery at Loch Ard Gorge. It was humbling. He also suggested we have dinner at the Port Campbell Hotel. We listened!! Thanks Graham!

It is 22 dollars per person to see a lighthouse, I can see ones for free from the outside… for free. You’re being charged to look at a lighthouse. Okay, 11 dollars to due to a mercury leak so generous to pay 11 dollars to see a lighthouse that has all hazard precautions around it. Some run down old buildings and don’t forget to see a closed cafe. It’s worth the 11 dollars to see that. Some, say a Ponzi scheme is one of the greatest rip offs in history. 22 dollars to see a lighthouse is more of a rip off avoid like plague. Especially, during a cost of living crisis where cash is tight for young families avoid it. Go to Port Fairy light house, nice walk and it’s free or split point where a tour is half as much and the lighthouse is more culturally relevant to those with younger families. Edit so I can reply to the comment by the owner: No you’re a rip off merchant and you are charging for something that should either be free or a separate tour from the lighthouse. But no, you would rather charge people to look at a lighthouse and instead of letting people see a landmark you have to walk 3-4 miles up the road to see a miniature lighthouse . Take the hint from the reviews you’re a rip off merchant pretending this is legit and everywhere does it. No, your excuse is as believable as a 3 dollar bill. You’re ripping people off and quite frankly you should be ashamed not proud.

We visited on Sunday, 5th October 2025, and although the lighthouse itself was closed (which was a bit disappointing), the woman working at the ticket counter completely turned our visit around. She took the time to show us a map and explained the safest and best route to the nearby caravan park — advising against stopping in Kennett River or Wye River for koala spotting due to safety. Thanks to her local insight, we ended up seeing five koalas along the way! She was genuinely helpful and clearly passionate about the area — not just focused on selling tickets. She did kindly explain what we’d be missing other than the lighthouse, but there was zero pressure. A true local guide at heart! Highly recommend stopping by — even if the lighthouse is closed, the staff alone make it worth the visit.

Love visiting here. Pay to go in. Lots to see. Tour times available. Short ascent to the top of the lighthouse with a great view .. even whales in the right season! Historical buildings, war bunker. Small Cafe. We had Soup of the Day .. Tomato & Lentil with warm bread roll. Scones are great too!

Cape Otway Lightstation is a nice place to visit, full of history and stunning views. Entry is $22 for adults, and you get access to the whole area, including the top of the lighthouse. It’s located quite far from the main road, but the drive is scenic and filled with wildlife caz we spotted animals along the way, which made the trip more exciting. When we visited, our experience was a bit intense because it started raining while we were there! Being on top of the lighthouse during the rain felt a little scary, especially with the strong wind.

We arrived at this place at first it felt like stepping into a different world. It was beautiful, peaceful, serene, and even seen wildlife, and then sadly, not too long into going in, other humans came in talking and laughing so very loudly, screaming kids running around. And the beauty just kinda went away. There were signs up saying to keep noise levels down, but most humans have no respect for anyone or anything anymore. It was also school holiday time, so that probably didn't help, but when that's the only time you can go, it makes it hard. It was still beautiful, despite the extreme loudness of adults and children 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ We got up to the walk way part and I'm scared of heights, but I pushed myself to do it all, as it was beautiful. But the number of adults and children repeatedly making it bounce was not pleasent. I don't mind people doing it once as a bit of fun, but repeatedly, grow up. Despite other humans peeing me off and somewhat ruining this experience, I did enjoy myself, and I will try to go back during non school holiday time, when hopefully it won't be as busy. A wonderful experience. Try to go when it's not so busy and try to be mindful of noise levels and other people. If people were quiet, I reckon we would have gotten to see more wildlife.

We had a great time at Otway Fly Treetop adventures. It wasn't the greatest weather but that kept the crowds away and really left the whole park to us. It's a little bit of a walk from the car park but the disabled parking is much closer. Once you start your adventure it's a nice down hill trek, climbing up to the tree tops isn't terrible. It's a nice walk through the tree tops and super safe. Once you get to the end of the tree tops walk way you start your trek back up hill and it gets to be a climb. If it gets too much you can call the desk and they will send a buggy to get you. Overall we really enjoyed our time doing the walk. If you're super adventurous you can do their zip line adventure as well.

We have been here multiple times before and we were excited to return but a little disappointed. As a family of 5 with young kids, we can confidently advise that the experience was negatively impacted by the addition of cheap fairies, gnomes and dragons which seems to be purchased from the local $2 shop. Without this sideshow, we would have given Otway Fly another star. As owners or visitors please focus on the breathtaking rainforest and the impressive canopy walk. The attraction speaks for itself with the added cheap plastic mythical creatures. Staff were lovely and facilities/visitor centre well maintained and clean. Hidden gem of South Eastern Australia, minus the unicorns.

Put on your walking shoes. It is lovely to walk among the treetops and the canopy. Its approx 1km to the tower. To start, there is a 20 min down-hill walk (and 30+ mins back. Lol) to the start of the treetop walk. Then the walk. Then scores of steps down. Then a 1 km uphill walk back. There is a cafe at the Visitors Centre. Also meet here for the 'fly'. Lockers, loos, and playground here too. And a gift shop... 🎁

We went on the Tree Top and Rain Forest walks. Just stunning! So unique to see the rain forest from above. The walk was a bit challenging (especially on the return) but quite achievable for most people. The drive to the venue was worth the journey. Great value for money. Recommend this as an activity. We didn’t do the aerial run. But it looks exciting. Would recommend to book in advance if you want to do this as it was booked out.

Very cool place, beautifully looked after you can tell the groundskeepers love their work. The flying fox was so much fun and the people are so kind and professional! I was a bit scared but felt at ease quickly. The cafe staff and reception staff are also very lovely 100% recommend this place! Thank you so much! As I was typing this an employee checked on me to make sure I was alright (I’m by myself sitting on the swing) everyone here is so so sweet!

We did the Zipline package, and recommend that you give yourself at least 5 hours to see everything - it is a lot of walking. Well worth it, but more walking than we expected. To reduce the amount of walking, you should do an early zipline, as you end near the bottom and you can do the tree top walk on the way up. No need to walk it 2X. Staff were very knowledgeable and fun. I felt safe, the equipment was well maintained and the staff ensured we were properly fitted, etc. I would do it again!

The best place in Australia with the rocks on water and here's some of my photos the sunset clouds chills and moves and I'm not sure is there tickets or not and then there's like a footpath and it says watch out for snakes in there kept walking for 8 or 7 minutes and then I arrived in the twelve rock apostles so lucky and near the rocks there's like a beach to make sandcastles and swimming but when are you swimming watch out for the rock or it will bump your head. Nice rocks for the best trip but one more thing, Directions from Melbourne to twelve apostles is a very VERY LONG TRIP 3 HOURS AND 23 MINUTES and when I get back at Melbourne I didn't drive the car my husband did so I slept in the car. Nice rocks but long trip.

The Twelve Apostles is the main highlight along the Great Ocean Road and a must-see stop for any visitor. It can get very busy, but there is a large parking area and a well-organised visitor centre with toilets and facilities. During my visit, the weather was cloudy, and although the view was still impressive, I believe it would be even more breathtaking on a sunny day or during sunrise or sunset when the limestone stacks glow in golden hues. There is a bit of walking required from the car park to the viewing platform, but it is well-paved and manageable, even my elderly companion handled it comfortably.

The twelve apostles are no longer twelve, so it wasn't really special and I'm quite happy with another scenery spot sighting around Great Ocean Road because it was the same rocks, beach and cliffs. It is still a must visit to check your traveling bucket list. Because it's a famous landmark, this spot is more hectic than other photography spots around. But there are buses and helicopter service available. There are restrooms and refill water taps. Two trekking paths to choose from, and spots for taking pictures.

Twelve Apostles is one of the best tourist spots to experience in Australia. Utmost safety and security is ensured, and the tourists are well taken care of. Even the nearby roads are well maintained, ensuring a smooth journey for all. Entire coastline is as clean as it gets, with neither human activity nor any kind of disturbance to the nature. On a clear weather day, the tourists are lucky enough to witness a unique bluish green tinge of the ocean and a cool breeze getting along with it. I would definitely recommend this place to all. Really worth it!

Fantastic even though it was bust (as to be expected) easy parking and navigation. Great little kiosk with hot and cold foods. Amenities in the same building. Insufficient seating with none indoors. Staff were great. Path was easy and accessible.

It’s nice, but unfortunately not wow. For such a long drive to get to, it didn’t knock my socks off. Hold on to your hats, it get very windy there. I much preferred the blue mountain lookout in NSW to be honest.

We recently visited the breathtaking Twelve Apostles along the Great Ocean Road — a truly magnificent natural wonder. These towering limestone stacks rising from the Southern Ocean are a reminder of nature’s power and beauty. The drive itself was a real treat, winding along stunning coastal cliffs and charming seaside towns. On the way back, we took the inland route via the M1, which offered equally beautiful landscapes and made for a much quicker return. An unforgettable experience all around.

Loch Ard Gorge is located just a bit further along the road from the 12 Apostles and is definitely worth a stop. The views from the lookouts are breathtaking, with dramatic cliffs and powerful waves crashing against massive rock formations. Even on a cloudy day, the scenery is stunning and full of raw natural beauty. The walk to the viewpoints is short and easy, and there’s convenient parking available nearby, making it a great stop along the Great Ocean Road.

Came early in the morning and there was no one around, enjoyed some peace & quiet with the whole view to myself. Probably would've been a decent spot for sunrise with the sun coming up a bit to the left of the view.

Great visit to the gorge, the weather was stunning, light wind and great temps. I know Google says it's closed but that only the beach access, the entire park is open. That being said there was to see even without the beach access. Make sure to stop if your traveling the great ocean road.

Really beautiful place a must see for a great ocean rd trip, plenty of parking and different walk tracks out just to note the stair case to go down the the beach is closed due to a rock fall and they need to get tech to come out and safely fix or replace the existing steps and the beach is absolutely gorgeous so I was bit disappointed to not get down there but overall it's just so stunning and the beach access is open further along at Sherbrooke River ** caution the water is extremely dangerous there so swimming is just a no go but the beach there once you cross the river is stunning the cliffs the sand there's no where that can compare the cliff side and the drama of the ocean ...treacherously stunning

Less crowded than the 12 Apostles Visitors Centre and offers more of an opportunity to have a light hike. There are two separate car parks but you can easily walk between each one.

Nice spot to visit. Currently unable to walk down the stairs to the beach. But the views from the top are awesome.

Husband and I loved our visit on Wednesday! We were there for roughly 5 hours and there was plenty to see and do that we didn't have much down time or waiting around. Wasn't too busy which was a bonus, so we got to quietly enjoy a lot of the experiences and shops minus the 2-3 school excursions running around, but we didn't cross paths often. The staff did a wonderful job at making the experience feel immersive and authentic, and we loved that there were things to enjoy as adults. Definitely recommend buying the mine tour or the photo time slot in advance!

A fantastic day or 2 out for the whole family. Step back in time and explore Australia's gold rush history. Cute shops, delicious food from a bakery to a Cafe. We live how the staff are not only in costumes but character too. The displays, tours are really well done.

While visiting Vic/Ballarat area thought I'd pop into here for something to do. Allocated a few hours. Ended up staying all day. It was incredible. Best way to describe it was a living museum. The staff there (mostly volunteer) were all in character and dressed up and so amazingly friendly. Themed so well and had a fantastic time. Highly recommended this place and I'll certainly go back. Did a mine tour as well and found that fascinating.

Visiting Sovereign Hill felt like stepping straight into the 1850s. The whole place brings the gold rush era to life with incredible detail, from the mining demonstrations to the dusty streets and costumed characters. We tried our hand at gold panning and, to our surprise, actually found gold! It was such a fun, hands‑on moment that made the day unforgettable. A brilliant experience for anyone wanting history with a bit of adventure.

We attended Aura at Sovereign hill and it was a fantastic experience. The 3 elements of the show were great, breaking up the story telling and the way it was showcased was a great way to see and hear the story. There was a school attending the same night we did (roughly 60ish students) but the team did a great job of moving everyone around through the 3 different experiences. Really worth the visit.

Solid gold. Sovereign Hill is a family friendly romp through early gold mining in Victoria, historical town with a unique blend of hand tools and functioning Industrial Revolution technologies make this a prize in Victoria. From the shops to the Poppet head frame a variety of interesting artifacts and a knowledgeable period attired staff that are eager to explain the town. This will take 4-6 hours to get a good self-guided tour. The gardens on the hill are a pleasant diversion from the rustic backdrop, don’t miss it!!

Even as adults we had a lovely day there, even with a sprinkle of rain. Still have the same memories of the place from 20+ years ago, which speaks to their upholding of the heritage component of the place. Underground tour was great, candy shop was delicious. Red Coats March is a must attend.

Some claimed the same or better than the famous of Twelve Apostles, but just as impressive in our view, the Bay of Islands is a collection of pale limestone stacks buffeted by the heavy waves of the Southern Ocean. The Bay of Islands is about 25 minutes past the Twelve Apostles, near Peterborough. Let’s known and more peaceful to enjoy the view as less tourist known. They're particularly beautiful at sunset, and there’s a short boardwalk along the coastline where you can take in the best views. With similar scenery to the Apostles yet half the crowds, this is definitely one of the more underrated places to visit along the Great Ocean Road.

Such an amazing lookout with amazing views of the rock formations along the Great Ocean Road. On a nice day you would be able to have some great views of the expanse.
