Gira Waterfalls

Mentioned on

Nature & Parks
Waterfalls
Gira Waterfalls is a stunning natural wonder located in Gujarat's hill station. This picturesque waterfall is most active during monsoon season, with a large flow of water that attracts visitors from all over. However, it is advisable to visit after monsoon season, preferably in October when the rain has subsided and the waterfall can be enjoyed fully. The area also boasts a shopping market where visitors can purchase unique local crafts and artifacts made of wood.
Gira Waterfalls is a gem in Dang region, dramatic during monsoons, serene post‑rain, and surrounded by verdant hills. It’s ideal for a nature getaway, family picnic, or photography trip. Just pack comfy shoes, timing awareness, and a mindset open to simple rural charm. Don’t forget your camera and maybe take home a handcrafted bamboo souvenir.
Nilkanth D — Google review
I visited Gira Dhodh Waterfall again in 2025 on a weekend with my family. The place is always beautiful, but this time the water flow was less compared to my visit in 2024, when it was truly majestic and full of force. Since I went on a weekend, the crowd was quite heavy, which is common at such popular spots. The overall experience was still enjoyable. Around the waterfall area, there are many small stalls and shops selling souvenirs, handicrafts, and local gift items, which add to the charm of the visit. There is also a restaurant and stay facility nearby. The food was fine, but the rooms were not very impressive – okay for a short stay but not something to expect high comfort from. In short, Gira Dhodh is a nice place for a family outing or nature trip, especially during monsoon when the waterfall is at its best. If you want to enjoy it with fewer crowds, visiting on a weekday would be a better choice.

Giradodh Waterfall is a wonderful place to visit, especially during the monsoon season when nature is at its best 🌧️. The experience begins right from the parking area — you have to leave your vehicle outside and walk inside to reach the waterfall. This short walk through the greenery feels peaceful and refreshing, with the sound of birds and flowing water growing louder as you approach 🌿. It’s a simple yet beautiful experience that lets you disconnect from the usual noise of city life and step into pure calmness surrounded by lush forest and fresh air. When you finally reach the waterfall, the view is breathtaking 💦. The water gushes down powerfully, creating a cool mist all around, and the whole area looks alive with greenery and natural beauty 🌈. The atmosphere is quiet and soothing, perfect for nature lovers, photographers, or anyone looking for a peaceful escape. Parking outside and walking in actually makes the place cleaner and more preserved, which is a really good idea. Giradodh Waterfall is truly worth visiting — a hidden gem that feels magical in the monsoon and leaves you refreshed every time.

Breathtaking view of the waterfall!Add it in your saputara itinerary for sure. Very vast in width..you can park car and there will be some walking distance to the fall...in between there are many shops which sells bamboo handicrafts and other decorative items.

Beautiful Waterfall specially During Monsoon. You need to walk for 3 to 5 minutes from parking place to see this. Looks sunning from a distance and panoramic view is awesome. Approach road is narrow and Parking is a issue on crowded day. So take care of these situations during monsoon weekends.

Tithal Beach

Public beach
Outdoor Activities
Beaches
Tranquil shoreline on the Arabian Sea offering a concrete boardwalk & dark sand.
Tithal Beach is a clean and calm place with its unique black, shining sand and plenty of sea shells to collect. I visited this beach with my family last weekend, but unfortunately, I didn’t get much time to spend here as we had to head to another place. The beach has good parking facilities, with a nominal charge of around ₹10-₹20. There’s also a small bazaar on the beach offering a variety of food options. A must-try is the star fruit served with spicy chaat masala—it’s a perfect balance of sweet and sour! You can also find boiled coconut and corn, which are great local snacks. For children, there are vendors with small toy cars, and for those looking for more adventure, camel and horse rides are available. One of the highlights of my visit was a massive sand drawing of Lord Shiva on the beach, which was truly impressive! Overall, Tithal Beach is a great spot to relax and enjoy some local flavors. Would love to visit again with more time to explore!

Very good, and clean beach. Sand is black and is very fine. Good to build sand castles. Very little undercurrent on the beach makes it very safe. Place can be a bot better lit. Become too dark, as soon as sun is set. There can be better food and beverage options, other than small tea and snacks shops.

Tithal Beach offers the perfect setting to unwind and enjoy a peaceful evening. The soothing sound of the waves crashing against the shore creates a calming atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to relax and clear your mind. If you're a photography enthusiast, the sunset here is nothing short of spectacular, with vibrant hues painting the sky and reflecting on the water. The scene is truly eye-catching and a treat for both the eyes and the soul. Whether you're looking to capture stunning photographs or simply enjoy nature’s beauty, Tithal Beach is the place to be for an unforgettable evening.

A very good place for a one day outing. Amenities: Some snacks stores, toys stores, 🌽 shops, battery operated car bike rides for kids. It has paid car parking at a cost of ₹20 as of June 2025. There are paid wash/shower/changing rooms available besides the parking lot where you can get fresh water shower after being into the salty sea water.

We visited Tithal Beach in Valsad during the summer holidays in May 2025, and it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable experiences for our entire family. Despite the summer heat, the cool sea breeze, the soothing sound of waves, and the scenic beauty made the trip extremely refreshing and memorable. Tithal Beach is located just a few kilometers from Valsad city and is easily accessible by road. We reached in the early morning, which gave us the perfect opportunity to enjoy the sunrise over the black sand beach. The morning sunlight reflecting on the gentle waves created a magical atmosphere. We had a lot of fun at the beach – playing in the water, splashing with the waves, and building sandcastles with the kids. The unique black sand added a special charm to the whole experience. Children were especially thrilled and didn’t want to leave the water. Everyone in the family thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful and fun-filled time at the shore. There were many local food stalls near the beach offering delicious snacks like bhajiyas, sweet waffles, coconut water, bhel, and batata vadas, which kept us refreshed throughout the day. The cleanliness of the beach and the maintenance by the local authorities is commendable. Parking space was easily available, and basic facilities like washrooms were also present, making the experience comfortable. We clicked many beautiful pictures and created lasting memories. The calm and natural setting of Tithal Beach provided not just fun but also peace of mind. Even with the weekend crowd, the beach had enough space to relax and enjoy without feeling too busy. Overall, our trip to Tithal Beach was a perfect combination of nature, relaxation, and enjoyment. Whether you're looking for a short picnic, some quality family time, or just a peaceful walk by the sea, Tithal Beach offers it all. We’ve already decided to visit again soon, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a refreshing beachside getaway in South Gujarat.

🌿 Review: Visit to Neelkanth Dham, Poicha — A Divine Spiritual Retreat Date of visit 24 10 2025 Located about 80 kilometers from Vadodara, Neelkanth Dham in Poicha is one of the most serene and spiritually uplifting destinations in Gujarat. The moment you step into the premises, a sense of peace and devotion fills the air. The Swaminarayan Temple at Neelkanth Dham is a stunning example of traditional architecture combined with divine artistry. The temple’s intricate carvings, beautifully sculpted idols, and the serene Narmada river flowing nearby create an atmosphere of deep spirituality and calm. The grandeur of the temple complex, especially when illuminated in the evening, leaves every visitor in awe. One of the highlights of the visit is the Sahajanand Universe, an expansive spiritual theme park that beautifully showcases the life, teachings, and values of Lord Swaminarayan through creative exhibits, sculptures, and audio-visual displays. It is both educational and inspiring, making it enjoyable for devotees as well as families with children. If you are visiting the statue of unity then plan one day for this temple. It's approximately 40 kms from ekta nagar railway station and takes 2 hrs to reach the location. This temple is very huge and mainly for Swaminarayan. However, there are other deities as well. The temple is at the bank of Narmada river. The temple has serene vibes and is very peaceful. The architectural design of the temple is marvelous. There is Kuber temple at the other side of the Narmada river which can be reached by boat. There is shoe locker facility. Also, many shops for buying worship items. Big food court is available and having many varieties. There are kids play zone area on the other side of the temple which is also big. At the entrance of the premises, a huge gaushala is located. You can buy pure cow ghee and other products there. Overall it's worth visiting the temple.

Its grandeur is awe-inspiring, and the intricate details of its architecture are simply breathtaking. We highly recommend visiting this sacred place, and if your schedule allows, spending a night here would be an unforgettable experience. The culinary offerings at the temple are also exceptional, providing delicious and nourishing meals. It is a destination that nourishes both the soul and the senses.

Nilkanthdham at Poicha is a spiritual and architectural gem. Nestled on the banks of the holy Narmada river, the temple complex feels serene the moment you step in. The detailed carvings, beautiful landscaping, water bodies, and gardens are immaculately maintained and offer a peaceful escape from city life. The food plaza & prasadalay serve good, affordable vegetarian meals; the shops and rest areas are clean & convenient. Even the walking paths and fountains add to the calm vibe, especially during sunset and night when the lights make the place truly magical. If you plan your visit early or later in the day (to avoid the intense midday sun), Nilkanthdham becomes even more enjoyable. Parking is well organised, and there’s a strong sense of spiritual energy that refreshes the soul. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a peaceful spiritual retreat or a family outing

Dandi Beach

Beach
Outdoor Activities
Expansive, landmark beach featuring 2 monuments to Gandhi, picnicking & scenic sunset views.
Dandi Beach is one of the cleanest beach in the Arabian sea. This beach is prominent as Mahatma Gandhi led the salt Satyagraha from Sabarmati ashram to Dandi. This is the beach where Bapu broke the salt tax law of the British after the Salt March. The beach is huge, clean and great for picnics. There are horse and camel rides available here and also Thar ride.
Husain — Google review
We visited this place after hearing about it from many people. They have developed this beach, it is much much cleaner when compared to other nearby like tithal. Kids love to play here. The best part is they have changing rooms, shower rooms & public washrooms. This is a good beach to spend 3 to 4 hrs together with family.
Arpit P — Google review
The beach is ok with nice sunset views but they do need to place some rubbish bins and encourage people to use them To help keep clean and tidy. Also if would be nice if they could place more of them parasols and more shade so that people can sit under them and relax.

**Dandi Beach (Near Navsari): ★★★★☆ for Peace, ✘ for Swimming** Craving profound coastal tranquility? **Dandi Beach is a must-visit sanctuary.** Experience vast, uncrowded sands, soothing waves, and breathtaking sunrises/sunsets perfect for long walks, meditation, or quiet contemplation. Its powerful historical significance as the **endpoint of Gandhi's Salt March** adds deep resonance. **However, heed this crucial warning: Bathing is NOT SAFE.** Strong currents and unpredictable waves make swimming dangerous – **seek other beaches for a dip.** Ideal for solitude seekers, history buffs, and peace lovers. Bring water, sunscreen, repellent, and respect the sea.

One of the finest and clean beach. Also having proper parking area and eating area. Best place to photoshoot, family outing and beach sports.

The water was kind of muddy, but you can chill under the tree, which are at the shore, there were also other activities to do like camel or horse riding, trampoline for children, small four wheel ride, and many more... But after swimming in sea, we didn't find normal water to bathe anywhere, they should provide it for some money atleast...
Suyash B — Google review
Dandi Beach is a peaceful and historically significant place that beautifully blends nature and legacy. Known for the iconic Salt March led by Mahatma Gandhi, the beach still carries that powerful aura of simplicity and resistance. The shoreline is calm and clean, making it a nice spot for a quiet walk or just to sit and watch the waves. There’s a gentle breeze and not too much crowd, which adds to its charm. The nearby Gandhi Smarak (memorial) is also worth visiting for a deeper connection to India’s freedom struggle. It’s a quiet retreat with a strong story — perfect for both reflection and relaxation.
Prajyot K — Google review
Dandi Beach during sunset is a truly peaceful and mesmerizing experience. As the sun slowly sets over the Arabian Sea, the sky turns shades of orange, pink, and gold, creating a beautiful reflection on the calm waters. The cool breeze, soft sand, and soothing sound of waves make the atmosphere calm and refreshing. The beach is not only scenic but also holds great historical importance, adding to the sense of connection and peace. Watching the sunset here feels like a perfect blend of nature and history. It’s an ideal place to relax, reflect, and enjoy the beauty of the moment.

Jai Shree Mahakali Mataji! 🙏 This place is like a heaven. During raining 🌧️ the surrounding nature is looks very beautiful. 🚫 Some devotees do not pay attention on cleaness and they throw different types of polythene bags, plastic bottles, papers etc. on foot steps. There is not too many wastage basket for waste storage. Temple authority and Gujarat government should pay attention on cleaness and waste management issues on this place. There should be cleaness awareness poster on some places.

✨ Beautiful Temple Visit ✨ This temple is a wonderful place to visit with your family. You can reach the temple in two ways: 🚠 Cable Car Ride – Available for visitors, but tickets should be booked online at least one day in advance, especially during Navratri, as it gets very crowded. 🚶 On Foot – For those who enjoy trekking, you can also reach the temple by climbing on foot. 🚗 Reaching the Temple: On weekdays, you can drive your own vehicle directly up to the temple parking area. On weekends, private vehicles are not allowed beyond Pavagarh bus stop. You’ll need to take a bus from there to the temple base. It’s a blend of spiritual vibes and scenic beauty—perfect for a family outing! 🌸
Sandeep V — Google review
Excellent experience - both spiritual and for the view. Current one has to climb about 300-400 steps to reach the temple despite taking the ropeway. But it appears that this ropeway is being extended to almost the top just near the temple and only a few steps will remain to be climbed. The darshan was easy, the view mesmerising and the experience elevating.

Rang Avadhoot Maharaj Mandir, located on the banks of the Narmada River, is a serene and underrated spiritual destination. The mandir's tranquil surroundings and clean ghat for pujan offer a peaceful place for worship. The divine energy and harmonious atmosphere make it a unique haven for devotees seeking spiritual solace.
Avadhoot Chintan Shree Gurudev Datta. Very nice worship of Lord Dattatreya and Rang Avadhoot at this peaceful sanctuary and mandir. Make sure you visit the banks of the Narmada river as well for a heightened spiritual experience. Visited on Guruvar expecting a lot of people but it was not crowded. If you buy Prasad or flowers, make sure you hold on to it tight as monkeys are aggressive and will snatch it away if you let your guard down.

Rang Avdhoot Maharaj Mandir in Nareshwar is a peaceful and spiritually rich temple located by the Narmada River. The calm atmosphere and serene surroundings make it an ideal place for meditation and quiet reflection. The temple holds deep significance as it is the samadhi of Shri Rang Avdhoot Maharaj, and many devotees feel a special spiritual vibration here. The temple complex is clean and well-maintained, though some visitors mention that the riverbank could be better cared for. Basic lodging and food are available, but facilities are simple. The best time to visit is early morning or during sunset for a truly tranquil to experience. Festivals attract large crowds, so visiting on regular days offers a more peaceful atmosphere. Overall, this is a must-visit for those seeking inner peace and spiritual connection.

Very aesthetic place. Nice view of Narmada river. Vadodara about 50 kilometers. With parking facility. Best place to relax and meditate. But to reach near the river, we need to go downhill which is difficult for senior citizens. Same while going upwards. Excellent view. Camel and horse rides also there.

The mall spans several floors with brands like Zara, H&M, Forever 21, Levi’s, and more. I watched a movie at PVR (PXL format) — crisp visuals, powerful audio, and comfortable seats. The gaming zone had over 50 arcade games and the dedicated kids’ play area was clean and secure. Dining options were plentiful, with both local and global cuisines, and a food court that catered to diverse tastes. The Golden Bridge, an architectural gem connecting Ankleshwar and Bharuch, is a remarkable feat of engineering that dates back to 1881. Constructed by the British to facilitate trade and administration across the Narmada River, this bridge stands out not only for its historical significance but also for its unique design resembling a beautiful maze. The iron used in its construction is both rugged and resistant to rust, making it more valuable than modern steel.

The beach has potential but falls short in cleanliness and proper maintenance. The area feels quite dirty, and the development seems haphazard and unplanned. It lacks the organized infrastructure you'd expect at a popular tourist spot. Overall, an average experience—worth a quick visit if you're nearby, but not a destination to prioritize.

Dumas Beach offers a vast, windswept shoreline perfect for early morning walks and distant photography. While not ideal for swimming, its eerie charm and local snacks make it a memorable coastal stop.

Dumas Beach, located near Surat, Gujarat, is known for its distinctive black sand, attributed to the presence of high iron content. While it has a reputation as a haunted location, it is also a popular spot for families and children to enjoy a day out.

Dumas Beach has its own charm. The black sand, open sky, and lively atmosphere with food stalls make it a memorable place to visit.

Beach was good but I couldn't exploreore because we were late, remember to visit it before sun goes down because they don't allow being there after light. In dark, they don't like people there so police will throw you out. I hope they make the place safe and allow access for longer time.

⸻ Dumas Beach is one of the go-to weekend spots for Surti people. Whether it’s locals or guests visiting from outside Surat, this beach is always on the list. It’s usually crowded on weekends since everyone comes here to relax, rewind, and chill by the sea. Sometimes the water is far away from the main shore, but it’s still a great place to hang out. There’s also a Mahadev temple nearby where many people go to pray. The beach has a bunch of fun activities like ATV rides, jeep rides, camel rides, etc. You’ll also find photographers who click your pics with a DSLR and give instant digital prints—which is fun and pretty cool! There are lots of small stalls and vendors selling boiled corn, Maggi, and other snacks, making it a typical beach-y food experience. A little ahead of the beach, there’s a super famous spot for Gujarati bhajiyas (fritters), especially during monsoons and winters. You’ll find bhajiyas made of rataru (yam), tomatoes, onions, and even mixed ones. People even visit on Sunday mornings just for bhajiya breakfast! Apart from all this, Dumas is also a popular long-drive spot for Surti folks who just want to escape the city’s hustle for a bit. Lately, a bunch of cute cafes have also opened nearby like Nomads, Social Blend, Kissa, Deiro, Petra, etc. with chill vibes and good ambience. Overall, a must-visit place for a short getaway or beach day with friends and family!
Swaad S — Google review
About 20 km southwest of Surat city, on the Arabian Sea coast. Lies along the Tapi River’s mouth, where it meets the sea. Main Attractions 1. Black Sand – The sand is slightly blackish-grey because of high iron and magnetic mineral content. It gives the beach a very unique look, especially during sunrise and sunset. 2. Sea View & Breeze – The beach is wide and open — perfect for evening walks, photography, or just relaxing with the sea breeze. 3. Street Food Heaven – You’ll find many stalls selling Gujarati snacks like: Bhel puri, pav bhaji, bhajiya, gola, sweet corn, and coconut water. 🍴 4. Sunset Point – The sunset at Dumas Beach is one of the most beautiful in Gujarat — orange sky over the Arabian Sea. Love 💕

Visit Vadodara and don't visit Lakshmi Vilas Palace, your trip will be incomplete! This is not just a palace, but a living history of the amazing art, heritage and splendor of the Gaekwad rulers of Gujarat. In my opinion, this palace is one of the most magnificent and well-maintained royal residences in India. Architecture and grandeur: This palace was built in 1890 in the Indo-Saracenic style. It is said that this palace is four times larger than Buckingham Palace! Its huge doors, beautiful windows and intricate carvings will amaze you. Interior splendor: The interior work of the palace is truly amazing. The flooring, exotic tiles, murals and colorful glass windows of the 'Darbar Hall' are a sight to behold. The museum section houses a collection of rare items and weapons of the Gaekwad family, which will take you back in time. Vast grounds: The vast and lush garden of the palace gives immense peace. The small golf course behind the palace adds to its grandeur. The atmosphere here is very peaceful and beautiful in the evening. My experience: I have visited this palace many times, and every time I am happy to see the maintenance here. An audio guide facility is also available to explain the art and history inside to the tourists, which is very helpful. This is a special place for families, history lovers and architecture students. Tip: Photography enthusiasts should visit here early in the morning or before sunset.

It was the best experience ever.. such a nice palace Laxmi Vilas Palace, Vadodara..A good, nice palace with equally huge gardens and its own golf course.. they have cricket academy also.. and LVP garba is most famous in here.. Though only a very very small part of the entire palace is open for public display. They have good AV and give you the Device with earphones to listen to the entire history & details about the Palace, its history, Royal Family and many things. It goes on and on for more than 2 hrs. However, we took 1 hour to explore whole palace.. They have a nice small cafe inside..

Visiting Laxmi Vilas Palace is truly a royal experience. The sheer grandeur of the architecture, the beautifully manicured gardens, and the rich history reflected in every corner make it a must-visit. The palace interiors showcase exquisite artwork, ornate halls, and royal collections that transport you back in time. We visited during the weekend so it was a bit crowded. We didn't have to wait in a queue. The security at the entrance n exit guide you with the needed information. The museum inside offers fascinating insights into the Gaekwad dynasty, with displays of weapons, paintings, and artifacts. The Darbar Hall, with its stunning chandeliers and Venetian mosaic flooring, is breathtaking. The audio guide is well-curated and helps you appreciate the heritage even more. The sprawling lawns and golf course add to the charm, and the upkeep of the property is commendable. Entry is well-organized, though prior permission is required for certain areas. Overall, Laxmi Vilas Palace is not just a monument but an experience that blends culture, history, and elegance. A must-see gem of Vadodara. There are some places in the premises that needs a lot of restoration and the exterior needs some renovation work and painting. It rained a lot that day so we had to rush back from the lawn area. Overall a well spent outing which can be completed in an hour or a little more. Photography is prohibited inside the palace

Beautiful place to visit. No regrets. It takes 2 hours to fully explore the palace. The audio guide is included in the ticket. So keep your tickets safely and don't lose them. To collect the audio guide show your ticket in the office administration and tell them the preferred language. The first point of the start of the palace is the statue near the Golf lawn. Don't miss the painting which is at the exit, before that you have to submit the audio guide and take sign.

The palace museum houses a fine collection of royal artifacts, weapons, paintings, and sculptures that offer a glimpse into the glorious past. The lush green golf course and the huge palace grounds make the experience even more delightful. The audio-guided tour is very informative, giving visitors deep insights into the royal family’s lifestyle and the palace’s history. The maintenance of the property is excellent, and the staff are polite and helpful. Photography is allowed in certain areas, so don’t forget to capture the stunning views. Visiting Lukshmi Vilas Palace feels like stepping into a chapter of royal history — majestic, elegant, and unforgettable. A must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Vadodara!

On asking how many minutes, counter lady told 15/18 minutes and once we sat on buggy, in exactly 9 minutes he got us back. We felt cheated but they didn’t bother. The EME Temple in Vadodara is one of the most unique and peaceful places you can visit in the city. The temple has a very serene atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for anyone seeking peace and spiritual calm. What makes the temple truly special is its modern design and architecture. Unlike traditional temples, this one has a distinct structure with symbolic elements representing different religions, which beautifully reflects the message of unity and harmony. The surroundings are very well-kept, with greenery and a calm environment that instantly makes you feel relaxed. Whether you come here for prayer, meditation, or just to spend a few quiet moments, the temple offers a refreshing break from the busy city. If you are visiting Vadodara, the EME Temple is a must-visit—not just for its spiritual significance but also for its architectural uniqueness and peaceful ambience.

The Dakshinamoorthy and Navgraha EME Temple is very Unique in design, very peaceful and Amazing Hindu temple dedicated to Devo ke Dev Mahadev 🔱. The EME Temple was built in 1966 by the Electronics & Mechanical Engineers (EME) School of Indian Army and is maintained and run by the Army in Vadodara city of Gujarat. Temple has 108 major archaeological stone statues circa 600-1600 CE of various Hindu deities. The statues are placed in various open spaces of the temple and attract a large number of students of architecture and archaeological studies.

Out of respect, we didn't click any pics instead of the temple. 1. The guards were very polite and humble to talk to. 2. There are many sculptures, and I request people not to touch them. 3. The gurudwara is one of its kind. Do not miss it. 4. Peaceful and very well maintained place. 5. You have to submit your identity proof. They will return it once you are done with your exit. There is no charge or fees.

The place is one of the unique temples located within the city of Vadodara! You can tell “ Hidden Gem” , the tranquil environment and beautifully managed premises that attract you lot more !! You can enter this place by giving your identity card to reception ( it’s mandatory)
Ankit P — Google review
The temple is unique with main deity as Dakshineshwar Shiva in form of Shiv Murti (rather than linga). The temple is located within the premises maintained by Indian Army and hence entry is regulated where you need to carry an Identity Card (License, PAN, Aadhar or such). Needless to mention that being maintained by Army it is very clean and crowd is managed well. The temple premises have various small shrines of multiple gods, Navgraha, Ganpati, Sai Baba, Buddha, etc.

I am visiting it since my childhood. In the heart of the city, one of the oldest temple yet so esthetic, peaceful, calm and positive vibes around. EME (Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Temple) or also known as Dakshinamurthy temple is under the preservense of EME. Hence one of the groupember must submit Photo ID proof with number of person taking entry and vehicle details. After that they'll allow you to take your vehicle in. If you are riding 2 wheeler, helmet is cumpolsary for all travellers otherwise you need to park outside the entry point and go by walk. Temple timing: 5:30 am to 08:30 pm. Dress code: Modest clothing that covers the shoulders, chest, and knees.
Sunny P — Google review
The EME Temple in Baroda is a stunning symbol of secularism and unity. Built and maintained by the Indian Army, the temple’s unique architecture incorporates elements from Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Jainism, and Zoroastrianism, reflecting India’s rich spiritual diversity. Each design detail, from the dome to the tower, represents different faiths, making it a place of universal reverence You need to show and deposit your id card at the entrance. No fees- free visit. Collect your ID back when you leave.

Manek Chowk Rd, located in the heart of Old Ahmedabad, is a bustling market that offers a unique experience throughout the day. In the morning, it serves as a lively vegetable market with an array of colorful produce. As the day unfolds, it transforms into a vibrant jewelry market where visitors can explore exquisite treasures. By nightfall, the street comes alive with an enticing array of street food stalls offering delicious local cuisine.
An amazing experience! The 9898 Jamun shot and Ghughra sandwich are a must-try.

Vijay P — Google review
I visited Manek Chowk in Ahmedabad during a corporate trip. It’s near Jama Masjid and Delhi Gate and famous as a late-night food market open until 1 or 2 a.m. We went there because most of Ahmedabad closes by 8–9 p.m., unlike Delhi which stays lively late. Honestly, the experience was underwhelming. The area is crowded, but there are only 8–10 food carts, mostly selling the same items like bhaji pav, pulao, kaju pulao, small pizzas, and some South Indian snacks. Everything is served on plastic chairs and tables in open air, and hygiene seemed low. The only highlight for us was the jamun fruit shots they were really fresh and tasty. Overall, if you want a full dining experience, I wouldn’t recommend it. But if you just want to experience the local late-night food vibe in Ahmedabad, it’s worth a quick visit.

Rating: 1/5(As can't give zero stars) Tried Mysore Masala Dosa, Manchurian Noodles, and Cold Coco — would rate them 1/5, 1/5, and 3/5 respectively. The dosa was a disaster — dripping with oil, almost fried. Someone, a decade ago, probably decided to fuse sweet curd/lassi with masala dosa, and people just went along. It’s honestly the murder of authentic South Indian food. Sambhar was just average. The noodles tasted like ₹10 roadside fare — overly salty, with small-length noodles. The Manchurian was extremely dry, halved pieces resembling soy chunks. Every food outlet seemed to serve the same mediocre stuff, just under different names. And the crowd — chaotic, overcrowded, barely space to stand.Even Fish Market is less noisy then this place. Prices are also overhyped and unjustified for the quality offered. For a tourist, I’d strongly recommend skipping this so-called “iconic” Manek Chowk. Ahmedabad has better and cleaner places to enjoy local flavours.

Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad is a must-visit destination, offering a variety of attractions and activities. The iconic Sabarmati Ashram, located on the river's shores, is a significant historical site where Mahatma Gandhi spent several years. It now serves as a museum showcasing objects related to India's fight for independence. The riverfront promenade features parks, boating facilities, zip-line amusements, and markets.
Narmada river front is an absolute beauty. It seems like we are in a European country. Best time is to visit in evening or after sunset and take a stroll here. They are provide rented bicycle, scooter and even stakes to enjoy with friends and family. Amazing place and a must visit for everyone coming to visit Ahmedabad.
Sourabh C — Google review
I went to Sabarmati Riverfront early in the morning during my exam days, and it turned out to be a very relaxing experience. The place is calm, the sound of the river waves is very soothing, and the cool morning breeze makes it even better. Ahmedabad can be quite hot, so visiting this place in the morning felt really peaceful. There’s a metro station around 2 km away, so it’s also easy to reach. The main riverfront area is open 24/7, but if you want to visit the Atal Bridge or garden area, they open after 9 AM. There are trees all around, and you can even find bicycles nearby to ride, though they are a bit costly. Still, it’s a good experience, especially for visitors from outside the city. Overall, a great spot for a quiet walk or just to sit and relax in the fresh air.
Ansh R — Google review
The riverfront is very beautiful and it is very peaceful during non-peak hours. I visited during early morning hours and I saw people cycling and jogging on the promenade. The river was very calm and greenery was lush. The infrastructure developed by the government there is very well maintained. The walking space is huge and very picturesque. The long riverfront offers ample space to exercise, cycle, run and walk. The place is also clean and not littered by plastic. I also saw a river cleaning boat gathering trash that was thrown in river during early hours.

e Sabarmati Riverfront is a major urban revitalization project in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, that transformed a neglected riverfront into a public recreational space with parks, gardens, promenades, event venues, and improved infrastructure. The project, which began in 2005, created public riverfront land by channeling the river, enabling year-round water management, reducing pollution, and providing a space for recreation, public events, and improved traffic flow. It features a two-level promenade, cycling paths, and public seating, and has become a venue for events like the International Kite Festival.

Lothal, Archaeological Remains Of A Harappa Port-Town

Mentioned on
1 list
Sights & Landmarks
Archaeological museum
Lothal, located in Gujarat, India, is an ancient city dating back to 2400 BCE and was a significant center of the Indus Valley Civilization. The name 'Lothal' means 'Mound of the Dead' in Gujarati. It was known for its advanced urban planning, dockyards, and drainage system. Situated along trade routes connecting Mesopotamia and the Indus Valley, it played a crucial role in trade and commerce.
For history enthusiasts, Lothal offers a unique chance to walk through a city that was once a thriving port and trade center. It's a must-visit for history buffs, offering a rare glimpse into the ancient Indus Valley Civilization. While the site itself is impressive, visitor facilities and information are limited, so manage your expectations and prepare for a largely self-guided tour.
Amit V — Google review
Slightly remote place, on the way to bhavnagar from ahmedabad. There is less public transportation means. Very nice place to feel the ancient history, no entry fees for visiting the site. Lothal museum is under construction about 5 km from the site.

A must-visit place for history lovers! Lothal is one of the most fascinating sites of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization. It’s amazing to see how advanced people were thousands of years ago — with a proper dockyard, drainage system, and town planning. The museum nearby showcases pottery, seals, and artifacts that give you a real sense of life during that time. The place is peaceful, surrounded by nature, and perfect for a day trip from Ahmedabad. If you love history, archaeology, or just want to explore India’s ancient roots, Lothal is definitely worth visiting.
Darshan K — Google review
Not much in terms of excavation, but a lovely place teeming with birds! Though a huge museum is coming up nearby. Worth a visit only if passing through nearby.
Mehul J — Google review
The Harappa civilization site at Lothal is a very beautiful place. It exudes a sense of peace, and the cool breeze makes you wonder why the people of Lothal chose to live here—perhaps it was because of this serene environment and pleasant climate. Although the structures are very old, their condition is gradually deteriorating because visitors enter the ruins, causing damage. In its current open state, it seems like the Archaeological Survey of India is not actively preserving it. The cemetery appears almost lost, with no accessible path to reach it. Overall, the site is very enriching for history enthusiasts, while others may see it as just a casual visit. However, you can truly appreciate that the people of that era had knowledge of science and mathematics. The government should take action to protect and preserve this heritage site.
Rajveer P — Google review
Visiting lothal on weekends specially on early morning drives is recommended. I have visited yhe site at post monsoon so the dockyard is full of water giving real vibe. The location shows there is a museum is permenent closed. If you have prior knowledge of this site then this visit could be the most interesting. Otherwise you real roam around and exit.
Devashree P — Google review
Best time to visit this place is during winters. You will be able to sit and experience the thousands of years of history here. A must visit for history enthusiast. Currently the archeological musuem is under construction. There is no information when it will open again, therefore you won't be able see the artifacts that have been found here. But the site is open and you can definitely visit it.
Srijeeta S — Google review
Visited Lothal with family and really enjoyed the experience. The place gives a simple but amazing glimpse into one of the world’s oldest civilizations. Seeing the ancient dockyard and town layout felt like stepping back in time. Display photos of interesting artifacts explains things nicely. The area is peaceful, clean, and easy to explore. Carry water and a cap because the sun likes to attend the tour too. Great spot for a short, educational family trip. Perfect for anyone curious about old Indian history in a calm setting.

The temple is truly a beautiful and peaceful place. It is very well maintained, and you can clearly see the efforts of the management and staff in keeping everything clean and organized. The surroundings are calm, the atmosphere is divine, and the entire place gives a sense of peace and positivity. However, visitors should also understand that it’s our shared responsibility to keep the temple clean. The staff and volunteers work hard every day to maintain the beauty and purity of this sacred place, but public cooperation is equally important. Please avoid littering, follow the temple rules, and help maintain the cleanliness and serenity of this divine place. I have been visiting Salangpur Hanumanji Mandir for almost 25 years now and have witnessed its amazing transformation — from a small temple to a grand tirtha sthaan. The growth in the last 5–7 years is truly remarkable. The new dharamshala, with 952 rooms, is incredible — it feels like a 5-star hotel with all modern amenities. The new bhojanshala is outstanding too, with an impressive capacity and excellent management. As for the temple, there are no words — simply divine. Every visit feels special, and the murti of Hanumanji astonishes me every single time. All this is possible only because of Hanumanji’s grace and blessings on everyone who visits. Jai Shree Ram! 🙏

A Truly Divine and Transformative Experience at Sarangpur Hanuman Temple ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Stars: A Must-Visit Pilgrimage Site in Gujarat The Kashtbhanjan Hanuman Temple in Sarangpur is not just a place of worship; it is an experience that touches the soul. My visit here was profoundly peaceful and spiritually uplifting. Atmosphere and Environment: The moment you step into the sprawling temple complex, you are struck by a sense of calm and divinity. The air resonates with chants and devotion. Despite the crowds (especially on Saturdays and Tuesdays), the management is incredibly efficient, ensuring a smooth darshan (viewing) process. The temple itself is stunning, showcasing the signature, intricate architecture associated with the Swaminarayan tradition. The cleanliness of the entire premises is commendable. Spiritual Significance & the Deity: The central belief that Lord Hanuman here alleviates all sufferings (kasht) and evil influences is powerful, and the atmosphere reinforces this faith. The murti (idol) of Hanuman Ji is majestic and vibrant, inspiring instant reverence. Facilities and Hospitality: The temple trust does a fantastic job of managing facilities. Clean and affordable accommodation options are available, making it feasible for multi-day visits. The food at the canteen/dining hall is simple, hygienic, and satisfying. Overall Impression: My time at Sarangpur provided immense mental peace and a powerful spiritual recharge. It's a place where faith is visibly tangible. If you are seeking solace, a highly organized pilgrimage experience, or simply a magnificent architectural marvel, make sure to visit this divine abode. It is truly one of the most powerful and well-managed temples I have ever visited in India

Established in 2001 by Deepak Agrawal, the museum aims to educate children about global cultures through an entertaining experience. It is a must visit and best place for kids to see different cultures around the world and that too under one roof. The Dolls Museum is one of it's kind with amazing dolls from around the world. A must visit place in Rajkot. The cultures of different countries are being reflected with the eye catchy doll setups. The place reflects different cultures from around 102+ country with 1600+ Dolls in museum. It's on 2nd and 3rd floor. There is a lift available. Monday is closed. The staff is also very well informed and they narrated us the complete story behind the set up of this museum. The main thing is no doll being purchased, but all dolls are being gifted by all rotary clubs around the world… The entry fee is Rs. 30 per person. There is extra Rs. 30 charge per camera if you want to take photographs. Cool place....

It's is one of the best museum of Gujarat, to understand the global culture. However its in narrow area, parking is also little problem. Worth to visit. Spare 1-2 hours.

A unique museum!! It's a rare opportunity to see a Dolls museum, here in Rajkot. Good to visit with children. The museum is situated on 2&3 rd floors. The lift was not working when we reached there. We had to climb steps. It was built by an ex Rotary president of Rajkot for his daughter. He wrote mails to Rotary branches of the world and hence many international branches sent dolls representing their country and regions. It takes around 1 hour to see all the exhibits. The rooms are air conditioned. The tickets cost ₹30 per adult and ₹15 per child. It costs another ₹125 if you want to click photos. The dolls represent their country's costume and culture. Children can spend good time there. However make sure they have emptied their bladder before. Because the toilet here is a medieval era one, on the ground floor. I wish the Rotary club would pay attention and renovate the toilet as kids come to this place.

In one word it is simply A Magical Journey Through Cultures! The Rotary International Dolls Museum in Rajkot is a fascinating wonderland for children of all ages: Over 1,600 dolls from 102+ countries, each showcased in traditional attire and set up with miniature scenes that let kids explore global cultures at a glance. Recognized in the Limca Book of Records for its unique and expansive collection. The displays include everything from folk dance dolls (like Bhangra and Dandiya) to Barbie and Einstein figurines, string/glove puppets, and even a rare Rocking Zebra—only one of five in the world! The themed showcases are beautifully lit and educational, with info about the country, culture, music, and costumes for each doll. Friendly and helpful staff guide visitors through the exhibits and share the fascinating stories behind many dolls. Includes interactive spaces like a cinema hall showing documentaries and cultural films, a Foreign Language Learning Centre, and a souvenir shop with stickers, postcards, and miniature flags. The Rotary International Dolls Museum is a safe, clean, and well‑maintained spot with plenty of visual stimulation and educational value. It’s perfect for a fun and cultural outing with kids. Every visit feels like a mini‑world tour where curious children can learn about cultures around the globe through beautiful doll displays. Note: Highly recommended Mainly for Kids.

A total different experience. Must visit, just 30₹ pp entry fees. This museum is surely made due to low and attraction towards dolls by rotary club. Definitely not a commercial thought process. Much appreciate the concept. They have 2 floors of museum, soveniour shop inside and collection of 1800+ different dolls from approx. 108 countries. Totally different and unique experience. Worth visiting. Please note its closed on Monday.

It’s been great to see a father’s commitment to her daughter for building such a dolls museum because he wasn’t able to make her daughter saw museum in Delhi. Many activities are going on here with just deposit and if full attendance then they refund full amount. Really well preserved all dolls in museum and one Zebra ride kind of activity is great for kids.

Perfect place for kids to enjoy. This place has many rides which kids like a lot and many of these are suitable for adults as well. There are rides packages available at entrance at nominal cost like Rs 200 or so for 10-12 rides else one can also pay for individual rides at multiple counters present inside the premises as well. The place is majorly clean and toilet and water facility are available. Some options for Snacks icecreams etc are also available. One can find free Parking on main road outside. During late evening times the crowd is too much so one has to wait in long queues for his/ her turn for each ride. Overall nice breakout place for couple of hours.

I recently had the most calming and soul-soothing experience at the Dwarkadhish Temple. It is truly one of the most magnificent and spiritually enriching temples I’ve ever visited. Mobile phones are not allowed inside the temple, which only added to the sense of peace and presence. I was fortunate to visit last weekend when there was no crowd at all. I even had the rare opportunity to sit quietly inside for 15–20 minutes, completely immersed in the serenity and the sound of prayers. The temple is beautifully surrounded by the Arabian Sea, which adds to its divine charm. After stepping out, I spent hours by the shore, watching the waves and soaking in the tranquil energy. It was a deeply blissful and unforgettable experience.

If you ever find yourself in Jamnagar, Shri Bala Hanuman Sankirtan Temple is a place you simply cannot miss. Located right by the peaceful Ranmal Lake, the temple has a divine charm that touches your heart the moment you step in. What makes this temple truly special is the never-ending chanting of "Shri Ram, Jai Ram, Jai Jai Ram” that has been going on continuously for more than six decades. Devotees take turns in shifts to keep the chanting alive, and being in that atmosphere feels both powerful and calming at the same time. It's no surprise that this tradition has even earned recognition in the Guinness Book of World Records. The temple is very well maintained, clean, and welcoming, with the serene lake adding even more beauty to the surroundings. Whether you go for darshan, to sit in peace, or just to soak in the spiritual energy, you will surely leave with a sense of inner calm.

Although just a casual temple but the best part is that from last 60 years there have been jap going on of "Shree Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram" non stop 24x7x365 and that too not by recording audio it is done by people. The temple trust has appointed people who works in shifts and common people can also join them. But being such a famous temple the washroom were filthy. The campus was not well maintained and cleaned.

Narara Reef The only drawback is that the road leading towards Narara Reef is poorly maintained, so reaching the site is abit difficult. But once we reach the experience is totally worth it. A wonderful experience exploring the marine life at Narara Reef. We were amazed to see starfish, octopus, crabs, puffer fish, and beautiful sea grapes during the low tide walk. The place is a paradise for nature and sea lovers. Our guide Sabir explained everything very well and made the visit truly informative and enjoyable. A must-visit spot for anyone who loves marine adventures and wants to witness the beauty of nature up close! 🐙🐠🌾

Narara reef is a quite, peaceful and uncommon. You can see live sea life during low tide period such as aquatic organisms, plants and colourful sponges and corals, sea cucumber, sea grapes, sea brittle star fish, octopuses, Puffer fish, etc. It is a different type of experience to go walking inside the sea during low tide.

It was an amazing experience to see a ocean animals like puffer fish, octopus, corals, sea cucumber and crabs live. You may hold them in your hands, feel them how beautiful they are. This place is worth visiting with your family & friends. But you must know the timing of low tide then only u can see these ocean creatures. In high tide they are not visible. U have to walk up to 3 to 4 km in water. Best time is morning 7 o'clock at that time u can explore more. U can have picnic there with your friends & family.Water level just above your ankle. Must carry ur shoes to walk in the water. Kids have enjoyed a lot. For us also it was very new experience, never thought before of holding these creatures in our hands. It was just Wow....... Nature is Beautiful😍❤😍 love it.
SHIKHA S — Google review
OMG!! Where do I begin, it felt like the most underrated place in India! Had it been in some other country people would be going crazy. Please ensure you reach the place during low tide & have at least 2-3 hrs to explore. So we reached the counter, got our tickets & a guide (taking a local guide is must they charged us Rs 500 but rates are from Rs 300) & began our walk towards the reef, (do wear waterproof shoes as the path is slippery & you have to walk in water. They also provide shoes at ₹30), we saw so many marine life that we never knew existed like transparent prawns, joint animal, flatworm, octopus, puffer fish, oysters, crabs, live corals like moon coral, pineapple coral! It is an out of the world experience. This place is a must visit.

Gopi Talav Theertham

Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Gopi Talav Theertham, an ancient talav in Dwaraka, India, has a history dating back over 5000 years. It is believed to be the place where Lord Krishna performed the ras Leela and rescued 16000 royal princesses from the demon Narkasura. After promising to marry all of them and give them a respectful position in society, he met his 16000 wives at this location before leaving the earth.
Gopi Talaw ,Dwarka Gopi Talav is a medium size lake located around 19 km from Dwarka and near Nageswar Jyotirlinga Temple. When Lord Krishna shifted his capital to Dwarka, the gopis of Vrindavan couldn’t bear this separation. They came to meet him in Dwarka and performed Raas on the day of Sharad Poornima. After the Raas, they decided to give up their lives to the soil of this land and merged with Lord Krishna. The soil here is very fine and smooth having a yellow hue and the local people say, to have divine properties that can cure many diseases, especially those related to skin diseases. Today, many tourists purchase this soil, popularly known as Gopi Chandan, as a token of their visit to this pond. I purchased the same yellow soil from this place, what the villagers mentioned as Multani Mitti. It was very cheap compared to that available in shops. The whole area around Gopi Talav is made up of ghats for bathing with many shrines built around them. Many species of fishes and birds are found here thus contributing to a great atmosphere for photography too. Gopi Talav is an important component of Dwarka’s sightseeing tour. There are a lot of temples around this pond. But, it's not clear why those are built! ****

Recently I visited this place. Here is my review: - Roads to reach here was in bad condition. - People were feeding fishes of this pond and cows nearby pond. - No cleanliness. - I couldn't find washroom in this place. - Food was not so good.
Mayank S — Google review
The history of tourism at Gopi Talav is tied to the larger history of Dwarka as a pilgrimage site. Dwarka is considered to be the ancient kingdom of Lord Krishna, and Gopi Talav is intimately connected to Krishna divine play with the Gopis (milkmaids) of Vrindavan. According to legend, it is here that the Gopis came to see Lord Krishna in Dwarka, and their love and devotion turned the soil into yellow clay, known as Gopi Chandan. Pilgrims often collect this clay as a sacred memento.
SACHIN R — Google review
This is a pond and not a lake. This pond has a historical dimension dating back to 5000 BC. As per the legend, the gopis sacrificed themselves by entering in this pond in order to prevent themselves from attacking forces. They turned into chandan (sandal). Many vendors selling chandan near this pond. Pls check for originality before buying because sometimes it's fake. This lake is also known as Amrit Sarovar and the small footpath around it is maintained by Tata Chemicals as a part of CSR initiatives. You can get to see many peacocks and peahens around.

Nice Temple with Beautiful Surroundings – Some Care Needed The temple is really nice and peaceful, a great place to visit. There’s also a small *talab* (pond) nearby which adds to the beauty—but it needs a bit more care. Planting some small plants or flowers around it would make the area even more beautiful and refreshing. One good thing is that there are small food stalls nearby. You can enjoy a variety of local snacks like **dhokla, khaman, bhaji**, and even fresh **nariyal pani** (coconut water). The **dahi chhaas** (buttermilk) is really tasty, and it’s only ₹20 per glass! You can also get **Multani mitti sticks** for just ₹10. Tip: If you're visiting, take some time to enjoy the local snacks and relax near the pond. Also, do your part to keep the area clean and green!

Bet Dwarka is a serene and sandy island that is considered part of the historic sacred city. It features temples, shrines, and offers a peaceful getaway for travelers. To reach Bet Dwarka, visitors can take a boat organized by Rahemat Cruise Seva from the Okha Jetty. The boat journey provides serene views of shore birds at the sandbars and the Arabian Sea on one side, with the Gulf of Kutch to the east.
One of the most beautiful and must visited place of Dwarka. On December 2022 the Bridge contraction on ongoing. So, we take the ferry from there. It was a lifetime experience for me to travel through blue water.

Visiting the temple is a great experience as we need to reach the temple via boat. There is a new bridge constructed however it’s not open for public yet. The temple is good. The boat experience even though it’s just 10 minutes each way is really good.

Its located about 30 kms from Dwarkadheesh. Nearest train station is Okha. After reaching there you have to travel by boat. They charge Rs 20 per head one way. Most of time boat is kind of overloaded and not at all comfortable. Putting life jacket is mandatory else you may be fines rs 500 as fine. After about 20 minutes ride once you reach bank, you have to walk about 700 meters. That area is untidy. Temple is good. It remains closed between 1pm to 5pm. So when planning to go there, plan accordingly as journey to bet dwarka from dwarkadheesh takes about 1 hr 30 minutes including boat time.

This ranks among the best places I've visited, and like every spiritual site, it unfolds a story – the tale of friendship. Lord Krishna, the king of Dwarka, shared a bond with a less affluent friend, emphasizing that true richness lies in the heart. In Beyt Dwarka, the pandits and locals have been narrating this timeless friendship tale, serving as a reminder that bonds should be nurtured from the heart, regardless of worldly matters. This place, unlike a bustling city, experiences limited electricity, and darkness descends with the setting sun. It's advisable to leave before sunset for safety reasons. Having visited approximately two years ago, I must highlight the potential risks of traveling by boat on the sea route. Exercise caution to ensure boats don't overload, as there are no life jackets provided. Wishing all travelers a safe and enriching journey, may you receive abundant blessings from the divine.

Bet Dwarka, located off the coast of Gujarat, is a tranquil island steeped in history and mythology. Accessible via a short boat ride or via Sudarshan Setu from Dwarka, it offers visitors a glimpse into ancient Indian civilization. The island is home to temples, archaeological sites, and pristine beaches. The renowned Bet Dwarka temple, dedicated to Lord Krishna, stands as a testament to the region's cultural and religious significance. The serene surroundings and spiritual ambiance make it a must-visit destination for those seeking a peaceful retreat or a deeper connection with Indian heritage. However, visitors should be prepared for basic amenities and limited infrastructure on the island. Overall, Bet Dwarka offers a unique blend of history, spirituality, and natural beauty that leaves a lasting impression on every traveler.
