One of the best beaches in Malta and Gozo everall. I visited this beach on a very windy day with big waves and even the red flag raised. Still, some people were swimming. The beach was a bit crowded but very clean, and the sand felt incredibly soft.

Beautiful and also imaculately clean beach. We spent only 2 hours here but enjoyed every moment. Two bars near the beach are okay and offer variety of food as well as drinks.

The beach itself is okay, but unfortunately there's a lot of algae and other similar plants. Near the beach, there's a mountain with a cave.

A very picturesque beach with an unusual sand color, almost like clay. There are umbrellas and sunbeds for €7 each. At the entrance, there is a toilet. You can also find a café to grab a snack or buy water. There are no changing facilities. The entrance to the sea is over rocks, but it’s very shallow and gradual, making it great for snorkeling.

The sand is red-orange in color There are stones on the beach, as well as near the water.Be very careful not to hit yourself. The beach has sun loungers and umbrellas; for two sun loungers and one umbrella you will pay 21€.We didn't like it. It would be better to go to the blue lagoon.The beach is not for everyone.

Super friendly. Very competent, tips on many dive sites that cannot be found in the book. Perfectly maintained equipment, filling station for air, nitrox, trimix and even CCR support. Well equipped workshop. Perfect for Beginners and Advanced Divers. But the best thing is the easy accessibility and the possibility to park the car legally in front of or opposite the base.

With only a few days to spend on Gozo and a bit of experience diving previously, Gozo Aqua Sports was the perfect dive centre for myself and my girlfriend. Run by Patrick; who is incredibly knowledgable, and happy to impart that knowledge, you immediately feel in good hands. Patrick is supremely precise too and practises what he preaches, to the extent of showing us the best way to pack and clean our kit. That was very useful. The team is then completed by John, who we felt at home with from the first minute. He was incredibly accommodating on our dives and rather than simply instruct us, he explained everything he was asking us to do so as to make the dives as safe and as comfortable as possible. I wish we had time to explore more dive sites in Gozo and when we return we will be straight back to GAS. Thank you John and Patrick, we both had a blast.

I’ve just returned from a 12 day trip to Gozo and dived with Barry and Sophie who were superb guides and a credit to Patrick and the rest of the GAS team. I first dived with GAS 16 years ago and find them every bit as professional as they always were, and am delighted that they have come through the other side of the pandemic when many other dive centres haven’t. Stunningly good dive centre. Every piece of equipment is maintained to the highest level, and owner Patrick is determined that everything shall be done the correct way, down to spare mask, reg and O2 cylinder on every trip. The dive guides are all thoughtful and knowledgeable experts on Gozo diving, and every dive we did brought big smiles. We used Gozo Aqua sports recently on our holiday. Having been certified divers already we were looking to rent some tanks for a couple of days. Out of all the dive centres we spoke to, Gozo Aqua sports was by far the best. The process was easy and fuss free. Highly recommended.

Definitely recommend!! I dropped in spontaneously due to a miscommunication with another dive center, but I'm so glad I found The Scuba Kings. They have a very welcoming and easygoing vibe—relaxed, but never careless. They really take responsibility: the briefings were helpful, and the equipment was safe and well-maintained. Mic, the owner, can come across a bit strict in situations where safety rules aren’t followed—which is totally understandable. For me, it’s actually a good sign: it shows that I can feel secure and rely on his 40+ years of diving experience. It was great to have the chance to learn from him during my Deep Diver specialty course—which I can definitely recommend! It only took four dives and allowed me to go down to 40 meters and even into some wrecks. I'm really thankful for four amazing days of diving full of fun (even though I’m a serious German 😉) with Mic, Katja, Dan, Marco, and Andy. Just got back from an incredible dive trip to Gozo with this great group of twelve divers. The service we received was outstanding — the team went above and beyond to accommodate our needs every step of the way. Some of our club members needed a guide, and we were lucky to have Groover. He was fantastic — not only extremely knowledgeable but also great fun to be around. Even our more experienced divers picked up a few new tips from him! Surface cover was provided by Katiana, who was equally impressive. She gave excellent dive briefings and was always available to support the team when needed. did my deep and wreck dive course with bubbles on Tuesday & Wednesday with Reese as my instructor who was lovely!! Sadly got a bit of Decompression sickness on my guided dive (due to no fault of the instructor) and Gemma and lee were absolutely fantastic! knew what to do right away and offered to stay while I got treated and constantly checking in and seeing if I needed anything! 1000/10 can't wait to be fit to dive so I can come back!

Had the best experience doing our open water diver course. 🤿 everyone was so nice, welcoming - from the owners, to instructors and dive masters. Appreciate the small group setting of the course (it was just 3 of us plus the instructor). After completion of the basic training we decided to continue to better our skills and gain some more experience with advanced adventure course and some more fun dives on top. If you are looking for a good place to start your diving journey or just want to gain more experience I could not think of a better place on Gozo. Absolutely outstanding service. Lee runs an awesome enthusiastic team for diving. The 200 bar has the most delicious sandwiches and super friendly staff. Ordered a beer on one of the days I wasn’t diving and they asked to see if I was diving. Great health and safety measures. Beautiful secluded beach suitable for relaxing and eating great food

One of the best beaches I ever set foot on. There are many "lidi" way overpriced. €50 for a third row beach umbrella with a half empty place is kind of a shame because the rest is nice.

Just arrived here,45 euro for 2 beda and parasol,no even small table, shower 0,50 cent euro, terrible! Looks really old! The beach is nice,clear water , I would not to take a risk to eat here.

Friendly enough staff but way overpriced for what they propose (both beach and restaurant) Setting is ok on the beach. We never got our meal because they forgot due to a 'busy service' but did not bother compensating or making an effort to apologise. Showers need to be paid extra. Toilets are not the cleanest.

Nice, this quiet beach was a bit windy. For laying sunbathing and reading a book . But had a lovely walk. When walking back towards the wind, stay right on the beach where the Sands damp so you don't get sand in your eyes.

Vendicari is beautiful. With the ticket you get access to 5 beaches. Walking to each take plenty of time so decide on one or two to visit if you really want to walk. Otherwise go by car. Note. Otherwise the beach is beautiful.

Absolutely beautiful reserve. Amazing bird life and very hot in summer bring water and be prepared bathrooms are more of a bush wee !! There is however along the trail the most incredible beach for swimming and just the most unbelievable beautiful clear water. Take a cozzie. And definitely wear it because there are no changing rooms.

It was a great decision to go there. We saw flamingos on the distance but also it was a nice walk around. We were at the beginning of December and it was nice weather so we could see the birds. Amazing experience.

The walk to the beach is no more than 20 minutes and is easy to do with sandals. Only problem is that the beach was windy. The beach itself is really beautiful, with clear waters that are warm in some places and colder in others. There are rocks that we really enjoyed diving from. Luckily, the day we were there, there was no wind and the water was not too dirty. As for parking, you can leave your car for free about a 10-15 minute walk from the beach or there are paid parking lots. The main problem, however, is the management of the space: practically 90% of the beach is taken up by private beaches, leaving only a small 10% of the beach free. Imagine how many people crowded into this small space, with umbrellas stacked on top of each other and people carrying speakers, making a huge racket. We also noticed illegal beach clubs, literally setting up umbrellas and occupying the free beach without any rights. It is really annoying and chaotic. Many people arrived, saw the situation and immediately left. It is a shame, because by law the space occupied by beach clubs should not be that big. I was there Oct 17, 2025 and it was 24 C sunny. The water was not calm on this day and waves were coming in 2 feet (just less than 1 metre) high. Not ideal for kids/babies. Beautiful beach with real sand! Decent amount of surfers there as well. There was tons of garage can, a shower and amenities. I had a great time there with my wife and no issues.

My wife and I almost didn't go here because of the misleading reviews. I believe that locals intentionally review this place as dirty to keep the tourists away. It was clean. Water was pristine. This has been our favourite beach in Sicily so far. Ignorantly bad reviews and Prego!

There are parts where the water is clear but not all of it, also there is only a small part free for use, most of it are private bar/hotel beaches. I think a saw beach near this one, better hidden and i eould reccomend you to look for it

Fontane Bianche is a great and definitely worth visiting. We parked for free in one of the parkings, but unsure if it was indeed free or free due to low season as it was end of may. The only downside is that a great por of the beach is taken by Lidos, meaning a lot of paid areas, but a short walk can take you to a good spot at the sand. The water is crystal clear, and nature around is beautiful.

A very nice beach with a very clear water and fine white sand. There are some good parkings too and some bars and restaurants.

Beautiful blue pools and plenty of space to swim or sit on the edge. Be ready for the hike down and the hike back up is intense. Bring plenty of water even if it’s not a hot day. Wouldn’t recommend if you have injuries due to the long hike.

Great place. The drive there is already nice, especially the last few hundred meters. The walk down was nice and once arrived stunning place. Great swimming and views. Don’t forget to take enough water, some food and wear good walking shoes. The walk up is pretty tough, especially in full sun.

We arrived late morning. Originally tried using Apple Maps to get here, but it took us to the wrong spot. It’s beautiful hike down, make sure you have hiking boots. Bring a towel and swim suet as well. The pools at the bottom are beautiful. The climb back up is hard and you will need lots of water and rests.

This place is wonderful! One have to go down hill for 1.3km, and another 1.3km up hill so it is exhausting but worth it !

The Duomo di San Giorgio in Modica is absolutely stunning! It’s a beautiful example of Sicilian Baroque style and sits high up on a massive staircase with 250 steps, giving you amazing views of the city. The church itself has this grand, three-tiered façade and a really intricate interior, full of details that show off Modica’s rich history and artistic flair. It’s also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is pretty cool. If you’re fit enough to tackle the steep stairs, you’ll be rewarded with magnificent views of Modica’s terracotta rooftops. Definitely a must-see if you’re ever in the area!

To go place when visiting Ragusa. You can park on nearby parking places. Be sure to pay the parking as there is lady comming regularly checking license numbers for valid ticket. You can see the whole park and go by walk to old city which is just next to it. Lot of cafeteria and restaurant and shops. This is the nicest park of Ragusa.

Superb monument. Looks great from all nearby streets. Wonderful backdrop to the town of Ibla. Do yourself a favour and go visit this church even if to only stick your head inside for a few minutes.

A truly imposing church in Ragusa. It can be seen from the lower side of the square and gives you a sense of superiority. I visited it during Holy Week and also attended the rehearsals for the church organ. It is worth seeing. The place does not have a ticket.

Absolutely idyllic place to stay. Breakfast on the gorgeous terrace provided by the wonderful Vanessa and her delicious cakes couldn't be better. Our room was bright and spotlessly clean with everything you need for a few days holiday. Pefect location.

Great location direct access to a beach. Very clean and tidy, facilities are good, cooking facilities, fridge/freezer, utensils etc. Lovely shower room and wc area. Plenty of wardrobe space and hangers shelves and drawers.

One of the undoubted highlights of my life. The location, the views, and the sunsets are outstanding. The rooms and use of the living room, dining room and terrace make this an immense joy to stay here. Ivana and her colleagues make you feel very much at home. Punta Secca is a small but perfectly formed place, may it and Casa Montalbano never change.

La Casa Di Montalbano was an absolutely charming little BnB! Ivana and her team—Simone and Agata—were so warm and welcoming, and extremely available for our every need. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the breakfast was delicious. We took our mom here for her 70th birthday, as she is a big Montalbano fan, and it was so fun to stay in the house and get the full Montalbano experience. There are also some AMAZING restaurants in Punta Secca. But that wasn't all there is! Punta Secca is very well connected to the southeast part of Sicily. We took day trips to Siracusa, Noto, Ragusa, Modica, Piazza Arminaria (to see the Villa del Casale Romano), and we also managed to squeeze in a beach day at Marina di Ragusa. Simply the best place on earth ! Very welcomed team, very clean, apartment equipped of beach front umbrellas and chairs, fully equipped kitchen and given sea towels too ... I cannot recommend this place more than ever. With the best view and located ON THE BEACH, you will have a dream coming true time ... The location is good and interesting, the scenery is great. But you have to figure out some things on your own. First, you can't go into the area by car anymore. At the entrance you have to leave the car (free parking, not too spacious), register your name with the ranger and take a free shuttle bus that keeps going up to the end of the road to the Necropolis North and then back to the entrance. They will pick you up on the way. So far so good. Wish someone had told me in this clarity because the map they give you is useless, but you can go either 1 km by the shuttle to the start of the walking trail and the walk a few km to the end point, or do it the other way round. From the end point you can go down the river and up the other side or simply go back. There are many signposts along the way. Unfortunately, there are no maps showing you exactly where you are. I saw some confusion along the trail. Just bring enough water when it's hot cause you walk a lot and going this and that direction adds up. As long as you end up on either end of the road, you're fine. And it's all free of charge. If organization and information was better, I would have give 5 stars. But it's Sicily after all.

Quite the adventure finding the right paths, definitely recommend downloading Komoot to not get lost. Other than that absolutely beautiful, amazing experience, it really feels like a mystic place, has some Pandora vibes and the guys at the ranger station are extremely friendly.

Lovely valley - great views - perfect escape into nature. I would be cautious when it's raining, the stone in the valley tends to be quite slippery. The official parking was on one side of the road just before the entrance, it was free. Bring enough water!!!

Amazing walk around the valley with more than 3000 years of history. We did a tour of 6km, which took us almost two hours.

Incredible place - very beautiful for a hike!!! A must visit for anyone who likes nature / adventure / hiking / history! Parking wise there was no car park but we just parked near the info point entrance having drive in from Sortino direction. Was easy enough to just park at side of road which goes to a dead end at the entrance. The chaps at the entrance info point were friendly and helpful.

Hot in June/July but such a special experience. Worth going out of your way for if you’re a hiking and/or history buff.

If some moderate hiking and ancient history is your thing (and you have a car or bike), definitely make time for this place when near Syracusa. The scenery is stunning, the burial sites look like they were carved out of the rock yesterday, and you will have a cool place to splash around when you get down to the river. Entrance is free, you just have to register in the book. Bring water. Much of the hiking is exposed with only limited shade. Easily in my top 10 of outdoor things to do in Sicily.

This location is very beautiful and unique. Regrettably, the area is littered with plastic waste from the sea. It's disheartening to observe such a unique place squandered due to a lack of proper protection and conservation for future generations. It's essential to raise awareness about environmental protection and encourage responsible waste management to preserve this beautiful place for future generations to enjoy.

At the end of April the place is very calm and quiet. There is a lot of space with tiny sand. There was some rubbish, though.

Beautiful sandy beach, clear, blue water. We were there on a weekday and met only a few people by the sea. However, there is a lot of garbage around, the showers were not working (maybe they were elsewhere too), there are no tracks, so after crossing the dunes, look for a way to get back.

very pleasant beach, clean, calm and warm waters. it is just a pity that even though it is inside a reserve, you can still find some rubbish around. but unfortunately i guess that this seems to be the case for most beaches i visited in sicily so far

A spectacular sandy beach greets you after a pleasant stroll through a forest with plenty of well-placed picnic benches. But beware the strong tide - stay in the shallows unless you're a very able swimmer. Free entry, and we weren't stopped from bringing our little dog with us.

Secluded, sandy beach that you reach by walking through a beautiful pine tree forest! So perfect. Excellent for kids and calm water to play in. No amenities so bring a picnic

Let's start from the premise that I do not like doing these sort of activities - hence saying that I enjoyed it is no overstatement but rather a confirmation of how much fun one can have at this park. It's very well organised, very well kept and safe also. One thing However - the person who explained how things work should dedicate more time to novices like me rather than a brief 2 minutes and a good luck. Hence my only advice would be - please prepare rookies better

Excellent, a lot of fun and adrenaline. Very well maintained and organized, plenty of friendly helpful staff, and even pizza and grilled local salsiccia and veggies. Ideal place for a family with kids, there are attractions for the youngest (3 to 7 yo), the rest is for the brave who dare

Our son loved it. He is 5 years old. The activities were really safe and staff patiently helps and assists. Nice park, average price and lots of fun for the youn ones, worth a visit!

This park is organized, safe, and a good place to have a break after a long drive. There is a place to eat under a canopy, and toilet break. It is an adventure park.

So amazing, go for a picnic, awesome tree top courses (from child friendly to difficult levels). So much fun. Get there early to get parking and a picnic table

Lovely park and place in general , good range of zip lines, would recommend the superzip if you are up for it (it goes across a gully)

Second visit and was sure worthwhile. My son is a teenager now are really enjoyed it. Lunch at the restaurant was also great.

Only half of the exhibition is visible .The rest is because of damage by rainwater or construction work for visitors not reachable. A lttle bit disapointing for visitors.

Greek civilization artefacts in very good condition. The island was a Greek colony. I’m not giving 5 stars for the lack of english language and lack of an english guide tour. No AC. Crazy hit in the summer. Maybe it’s just temporary.

More than expected, the archeological museum showcases a good collection of ancient objects. The terrace offers a good view of the Greek acropolis just beside.

The whole place was set up for walking in a certain direction. Best part was the wing with all the coins. Two gentleman did not allow our group to see the column because one of the men had to unlock the gate but neither would. Our group was told to take photos from the balcony almost 100 yards from the item we came to see.

Employees who really don't care , flickering lights that don't let you see the exhibits , an image of abandonment which the great treasures that are stored in do not deserve. Shame on the local authorities for not preserving their ancient heritage.

Regional Archaeological Museum of Gela can be considered together with Siracusa, Palermo, Agrigento, Catania among the most important in southern Italy and in the Mediterranean. There are contents, archaeological finds, inscriptions, coins, architectural elements and much more from various periods from prehistory to the Middle Ages. However, the collection of the classical and Greek era is impressive. Unmissable visit for tourists who want to discover Sicily and relive some of its most significant testimonies. Welcome, I recommend to visit the museum with a local guide. :)

one of the things to visit in Gela together with the Acropolis! the doric column left brings back all the idea of where the temple of demetra/ceres was before. Walking around the acropolis is very suggestive especially during events inside.

These people need an actual museum professional to run this place. Some amazing stuff but no descriptions on a majority of items. No history really and no details. Everything in Italian only. Not *nearly* as much stuff as you would expect. Very little really. I'd say it's not worth the 5 euros, but let the buyer be 'ware.

I felt like the exposition could be much more! Feels like the best pieces are not on display. The structure needs immediate attention, parts look like they have serious structural damages! Ladies at the biglietteria were extra nice, complimenti! The price of 4€ is reasonable.

This museum is in an old theatre and is a bit unloved. It's old fashioned with a confusing layout, but looks like it's being slowly renovated. Some fabulous exhibits of ceramics through the ages in Sicily (could be labelled better though). Well worth a visit and a must for ceramic lovers. Only €4 entry.

Visited with a group of nine. Could not change 50 euros for first person. We could make the 8 euros entrance for 2 with small change but apparently this is not legal tender in Italy because it was refused and virtually thrown back at us. So none of us went in! Very rude and poor for tourism.

Found some interesting and very elaborate ceramic artefacts in the museum. The nearby public park surrounded by hundreds of different vases, one different from the other, was intriguing. Catch the little train in the main square and make the 20 minute ride through the narrow streets. Some amazing elaborate buildings. And plenty of shops to buy this very unique ceramics artwork.

Gorgeous and unique staircase with beautiful ceramics! The photos don't make it justice! It is lovely! We adventured ourselves to go all the way up and then down.

We actually planned our visit to coincide with the St. James Festival as part of our Youth Jubilee program. Being right at the front row for the St. James procession was something I’ll never forget. The energy, the devotion, the scene, it was really something special. The area was packed with people, both locals and tourists, all celebrating together. Shops stayed open late and there was this beautiful sense of unity. Honestly, I just feel incredibly blessed to have been part of it. It was one of those rare, meaningful moments where everything comes together.

This is in Caltagirone. The famous Scalinata. It is thrilling to watch. Every step is decorated with ceramics. It was quiet in early July. On the 25th July it is decorated with lanterns for the feast.

Unfortunately, we visited on a Sunday, when nearly all the artisan workshops and shops were closed, leaving us without the chance to experience the vibrant craftsmanship that usually brings the staircase to life

Charming place, great view from the top, almost no turists in the evening.

Great place to walk on the streets and sit on the steps of where the ancients did thousands of years ago. Also, the area has been reasonably well-maintained. The signage looks great, there are benches for resting under the trees in certain areas, and they tall weeds have all been knocked down around the ruins. Amazing views as well.

Close to the town of Aidone in the central part of Sicily lies the ancient city of Morgantina. It is certainly worth a visit even though it lies outside of the usual tourist attractions. Besides the Greek amphitheater one can still see the remains of the thermal baths, the sanctuary of Demeter and Kore, a well preserved furnace, Roman shops and other interesting and important sites. However, besides the Roman and Greek buildings and artifacts much older historical traces can be found that date back to the first bronze age (2100 - 1600 BC). Before reaching the archaeological site a nicely build road leads to the entrance where a large parking lot has ample room for visitors. I would recommend that visitors bring their own water bottles as no drinks or snacks are sold and in the summer it can get rather hot. Unfortunately the archaeological site is not well kept. High grass is covering most of the ruins, which can make it hard to appreciate the particular sites. It appears that the site is cleaned up only during a short period of the year. In addition all the panels that used to provide ample descriptions are now faded and mostly unreadable. This is a real shame, as this is a tremendously important historical site that covers more than three millennia. It is quite inconceivable how little care is taken and important artifacts might be lost forever. This site would deserve 10 stars for it's historical value alone, however the apparent abondoned state of this tremendously important historical area lessen the cultural and educational experience. For those who like a nice hike and like to dare the sun, I would recommend to leave the car in Aidone and take a nice walk, enjoying the landscapes coming down from the ancient ruins of the Norman Castle, following the Via Erbitea passing by the medival church of Chiesa Madonna delle Grazie and the even older church Chiesa di Sant`Antonio. The hike should take 45 minutes. However, more time should be planned as there will be ample opportunities to stop and take pictures.

Morgantina seems to be one of those amazing places that still has yet to really be discovered. I say that because this place is like a whole history lesson of pre-Roman times with so much to see, but doesn’t seem to get much tourist traffic. Admittedly, it is a drive from the more regular tourist spots on Sicily, and it is a bit difficult to find, but well worth an afternoon to visit if you have the time. I can see here that others have mentioned problems with faded information signs and unclear visiting hours, but I didn’t have a problem getting in during an afternoon, and I found the signs to be sufficient for reading. The really amazing thing about this site is that the whole layout of the pre-Roman village is still preserved to the point that you can make out the layout of the city and get a very good idea (from the layout, topography, and information signs) of what day-to-day life was like for these people. The ruins are beautiful and definitely make a great challenge with easy subjects for any novice to professional photographers out there. (The fact that there aren’t many visitors certainly helps as well.) The parking is great and the fee is minimal. Bring water and prepare to be educated.

The site is generally super interesting amd worth a visit! Unfortunately, all the info signs are totally sun-bleached (I'd guess) and you can't read them (see photo). But, we had our own cultural guide for Sicily which provided more info than we could take in. The entry price may seem a bit high, but with us choosing the combined ticket, valid also for archeological museum and Villa Romana, it seemed fair. It's 10€ for grown-ups, 5€ for under 25s (EU pass required) and free for minors. I would recommend going there, though with an own guide book.

The site is large and impressive with many (ca 40) info boarda explaining the use of the buildings etc Good view of the site and Etna.. We went in january and we were the only guests there. it's worth a trip!

Definitely worth it to see how these old ruins laid preserved for so long. Not much of an explaination and beware that hours are not well listed. We were told they closed at 130pm in the middle of September.

An incredible archeological site: an entire city from the 3rd century BC with a wonderful view over the countryside up to the Etna. The past history of the site is very interesting, entangled as it is in the ancient history of Sicily during the Greek/Roman period. It is clearly worth a visit or would even deserve a special travel. However, there are virtually no explanations for the visitors: no map of the site available, posted boards completely whitened, high grass throughout covering the paths, etc. It is really a pity that such an amazing place is abandoned!!!

Some astounding pieces from the site of Morgantina, with fascinating information about the international collaboration that took place between archeologists and curators to identify and return pieces stolen and sold to collectors decades ago. The story of the head of Hades (nicknamed 'Bluebeard') is particularly interesting!

A visit of the archeological Museum of Aidone is a must for all those that take a tour to Morgantina, as it provides much needed context and important information im regards to the life and socio-cultural context of the ancient city of Morgsntins at the archeological park. The museum is housed in the former monastery of the Cappucini which was build between 1611 and 1613 AD and was dedicated to Saint Francis. The entrance is located in the former church that is now also used as a meeting room. The museum hosts numerous artifacts from the Greko-Roman city of Morgantina that was founded around 1000 BC and from the Citatell that is the ancient site of a prehistoric town of the bronze age that dates back to around 2100 to 1800 BC. The most famous artefact exhibited is the Dea di Morgantina. A female statue that probably depicts the goddess Demeter and was sculptured between 425 and 400 BC. The statue was discovered by tombraiders and secretely removed and later sold to the Getty Museum and exhibited in the Getty Villa at Malibu in southern California. It was not until 2011 that this important and wonderful artefact was returned to Aidone, where it is now exhibited close to the place where it was originally located. The museum is usually open every day. However, on certain holidays it might be closed and it should be checked beforehand if it is indeed open. There is a combination ticket that costs €14.00 and includes a visit to the Museum in Aidone, the archeological park of Morgantina and the Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armerina. This is the package that I would recommend as it gives access to three very important and locally close venues that one does not want to miss. Discounts are given to those between 18 and 25 years of age and teachers. For those younger than 18, the entrance is free. One should plan at the very least one hour to examine the exhibitions and appreciate the significance of the displayed artefacts that reach back to the early bronze age.

The museum is well laid out, but it does not have a lot of artifacts. If one is visiting Morgantina site then it's probably worth it, otherwise it is not.

Cannot miss the goddess statue!

Nice small museum that shows what was excavated in the near Morgantina archaeological site. The most famous feature is the "Venus", that was for years in the Paul Getty Museum in LA and was recently given back. The silvers are now back, but they have to "travel" the world every 4 years because of an international agreement. Ask for the joint ticket that allows to also enter Morgantina site and Piazza Armerina Villa del casale. The three sites are very close.

Nice little museum with some great artifacts from Morgantina. Well worth a visit, especially if you get the combined ticket with Morgantina and Villa Romana del Casale. There is some spectacular gold jewelry and I was interested to see the painted busts. The only downside was that over half of the display notices were only in Italian.

Absolutely worth a visit — one of the true highlights of my trip to Sicily. The site is easy to walk through and very well signposted, with plenty of information to help you appreciate its history. I read about the place beforehand, which I highly recommend unless you plan to rent an audio guide. As in other historic landmarks, you may find guides offering their services at the entrance. Most of the site is covered, making it comfortable to explore even on a hot, sunny day. A fascinating journey into Roman history that you shouldn’t miss.

A remarkable place, not to be missed. We read the warnings about tour groups getting in the way but had no problems arriving at about 10.30am when there were already ten tour buses in the car park. Everyone has to take the same narrow route on platforms above the mosaics. You can wait for others to move on or you can push your way ahead, but it is best just to "go with the flow". We completed our day with a visit to Caltagirone, interesting to see the ceramics everywhere around the town.

Fantastic place with the most incredible collection of mosaics. If you don’t like mosaics or you’re not interested in Roman history it would be boring but for the quality and quantity of mosaics it is absolutely worth a visit. It was a long drive from Siracusa and quite long from Catania with some narrow roads but it was worth it in my view. Good parking on site and a decent enough sandwich at the shops near the car park.

Outstandingly well preserved, beautiful, intricate mosaics. The layout of the villa is fascinating, showing the lifestyle of a wealthy Roman. A really great place to visit in the early morning because it gets very crowded, very quickly.

I hadn't heard of this villa before, but I am very glad to have visited this gem 💎 as part of a day trip. From the outside I was not expecting much, but inside.. wow! Some of the most beautiful and well-preserved mosaics I've ever seen. As well as a great example of the ingenious Roman underfloor heating. Not very busy, and we walked around slowly but still managed to see it all within an hour - but I don't know if that was just down to it being a weekday. We also didn't need to book in advance. It is definitely worth a trip.

Magnificient! The amount of mosaics and the level of preservation is staggering. Nothing like it anywhere else and it blows my mind someone was able to enjoy it in all its glory in ancient times. Audio guide while not amazing does a good job explaining the mosaics. It takes 2 to 2.5h to leisurely go through the site with an audio guide. There is a shuttle (sado) that can take you here from the town.

Many people said that this is a must do in Sicily and I have to agree. A lot of history and culture preserved and presented in such an interesting and meaningful way. Although we were lucky that we visited just before the peak hours and before large school groups arrived. The paths are so small that any slightly big amount of people would make the experience miserable. Plan carefully if you want to visit peacefully.

Visited on a rainy day in September. Entry fee of €4 is reasonable, although there wasn’t much information and most of the castle was cordoned off. Climbed up the tower for a fascinating view of the city. Worth the visit.

Open now (April 2025) and a very nice walk about the restored inside and the gorgeous outside sidewalk! Really enjoyed it. Price was €6 per person I think.

Didn't manage to enter the castle as we were late, but looks beautiful from the outside and has spectacular views all around.

Lovely walk around the castle and the views are amazing - we don’t go inside on this occasion as we spent most of the time exploring around about it. Well worth a visit just for the views and walk.

This was a unplanned stop over driving from Syracusa to Palermo. And it was worth it . The castle history and structure was impressive. The view from the tower is the icing on the cake . Entry ticket of 4euro is worth it. Rocca di Cerere is just close by.

If Sicily is Westeros then this must be what it feels like to be in Highgarden. Breathtaking view over the island. We were even able to see as far as Etna. It’s a bit challenging to climb to the top but nothing too difficult.

The scenery from Rocca di Cerere is absolutely stunning, and honestly, the view is reason enough to visit Enna. It’s an unforgettable landscape that makes the entire trip worthwhile.

Very beautiful spot, panoramic, quiet and relaxing. Must stop if you pass near Enna and enjoy for some moments the 360 view from above.
