Amazing experience for understanding Malta. Endless huge street market and good place to buy some souvenirs. Specially, pistachio spread and liquor of malta fruits are recommendable. And should have dinner or lunch with fresh fish dishes. You may feel the " fresh" literally.

Very well worth the visit. The Sunday market had a lot of stands and a diverse selection. Around 13:30 the fresh fish places pack their stuff, the other options will pack their stuff a bit later, tip: go early. To see it all you need a bit more then an hour.

The Sunday market in Marsaxlokk is lively and full of energy. You can find a bit of everything, especially fresh fish and seafood, local sweets, souvenirs, fruits and vegetables. It’s always bustling, but that’s part of its charm. Definitely worth a visit!

My favorite was the handmade pressed flower earrings. A big market with a variety of souvenirs, clothes, jewelry, souvenirs, handmade products, vegetables and of course fish. The traditional maltese sweets and pastries seemed overpriced, but for free they offer a taste of pistachio creme, bajtra (cactus liquor), and some sweets I don't even know the name of. It gets very busy and crowded, and it was also kind of hard to take photos because there were too many people, but beside that it was a really nice experience, the whole market has a lively atmosphere, and it's a must if you visit Marsaxlokk.

Nice market to spend Sunday morning. The only reason why I don't give 5 stars is because it was full and we did not find a good Place to sit down and drink something.

Marsaxlokk Open Market is a lively and colorful place, full of local products, fresh fish, handmade goods, and authentic Maltese charm. Walking along the waterfront with traditional boats and friendly vendors creates a unique atmosphere. A great spot to discover local culture and enjoy a vibrant seaside experience in Malta.

Nice fish market and added bazar like vendors on Sunday mornings, very alive and busy. Quaint fishing village.

Brief history Fort Delimara was built between 1876 and 1878 to defend Marsaxlokk Harbour. It is a typical example of a British Victorian fort when fortifications were constructed low lying and camouflaged as much as possible. Its original artillery comprised of six 38-ton Rifled Muzzle Loading guns, of which four still survive. New Breech Loading guns were installed in 1892, 1913 and 1939. The parade ground includes the soldiers' barracks and other ancillary structures. It was active during the Second World War but was decommissioned in 1956 when coastal defence was abolished..It is possible to visit the Fort just on open days organised by Heritage Malta.

Old fort preserved as world heritage, used to be a museum. Now, I am not sure if it is closed for visitors because the covid restrictions, or if they just close for keep more preserved, once that tourist activities can cause detritions. Located in a natural park, it is a very nice place for hiking, with a amazing and unique sea view, also a nice view for the port and the power plant.

It's cloces righ now but looks quite cool from outside. Great view of harbour.

A very nice day and a very nice walking.

Excellent walk in the nature, at the same time you are close to the beach but also surrounded with a nature, typical farm houses, green nature and vivid colours. Was a bit confusing with all the private lands and no possibility to walk freely but it is worth for another attempt.

A nature reserve that’s in one of the most beautiful areas in the south of malta. There is also an ancient Neolithic Site—mostly destroyed. A must visit! Do ignore the no entry signs and walk wherever you want—nature is public!

Xrobb l-Ghagin is in the South of Malta, further up than Marsaxlokk We went up there on a very fine day in January. The views there are astounding, as one can see from the shots.

The place is full of gravel and there are no public toilets. There are like abbandond rooms which spoil the place. At lease there are loads of bins but lack safe spaces for children to play and where to lay comfortably. No shade what so over.

One of the best country walks down south. Lovely county and sea views.

FIne quality, delectable, fresh Mediterranean seafood at its finest 10/10. Wide variety of fresh seafood to choose from - showed by the chef with recommendation on the preparation. Service was friendly, efficient and timely 10/10. Vibe is classy, but not stuffy. If you want to avoid the chaotic waterfront restaurants and yet still have the view of both the water and people, this is a great spot. We really enjoyed our dining experience. Please book in advance as this place is popular even in low season

The main course fish dishes are among the best in Malta but the starters are outstanding and it is easily possible to eat a whole meal of starters. Wonderful, particularly for a Sunday lunch! This is quite simply one of the best restaurants in Malta, and frankly one of the top restaurants anywhere I’ve been in Europe. I’ve been here a few times over the years when I’m in Malta and it only gets better. I was here last night with my aunt and the food was quite simply divine and the service, as usual, top.

It is easy to see how this place had a 2024 Michelin mention. The food was crafted with sophistication and thoughtfulness. The olive bites were an absolute revelation and the fish was fresh and savory. A definite must if you are in town. Prices were extremely competitive too

If you want a homestyle Maltese food experience that will stuff you to the brim, this is the place. Victor cooks as if each visitor is his personal guest. It is a set menu with 4-5 courses, and every course tasted fresh and delicious. You must make a booking before you dine here, but it’s definitely worth a stop.

We had such a great experience at Ta’ Victor! We both went for the 5-course platter. For the main course, we tried two different kinds of fish. The soup and fish options change daily depending on what’s fresh, so the menu stays interesting and seasonal. The service was super friendly and attentive. They explained every dish – what it was, what ingredients were used, and how it was prepared – which really added to the whole experience. Everything was absolutely delicious, a solid 10/10. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something special but still relaxed and welcoming! We paid 91,4€ for the 2 menu, 1 bottle of local wine and a bottle of sparkling water.

The best food experience during my two month stay in Malta. Victor offers 5 course menu only for 37€/pp and wide selection of local wines for very reasonable prices. Every day there are fresh meat and seafood options available based on what is fresh and available in the market. Make sure you arrive hungry because it is really too much food even. We really enjoyed every bite of this dinner. Highlights of course being the fish and the dessert! So simple, pure and delicious!

I've been sitting here for over an hour thinking of how to put this into words, but I fail every time. The food is devine, I felt nastalgia for the cooking of a Maltisian grandmaw I never ! The standout dish was the desert, probably the best thing I ever ate, I never knew food could taist that good.

Ta' Victor is a local treasure that truly deserves to be discovered by both foreigners and locals when it comes to its incredible dining experience. Emphasis on experience, because this restaurant took us back to our nostalgic roots, something that almost no other restaurant can accomplish as well as here, especially since it compliments with the location of the restaurant. Ta' Victor is a timeless masterpiece of local cuisine that deserves its prestige and welcomes anyone looking for a true taste of Malta with open arms.

Highlight of our vacation on Malta! This place is absolute jem and words can t really depict the service there. Position on little square litt 3 min from the waterfront and amazing , friendly and attentive service. Viktor and his mysterious right hand made us feel extremly welcomed .Food is traditional Maltese with all the flavours of the island and tradition in combination with local white Mdina wine .And it was amazing!Big portions and traditional desert were so deliscious ,it felt like home. Ta' Victor - Wow, just wow! The tables were reserved but Victor the owner and chef seated us in a prime spot overlooking the harbour. No menu required here! A - 4 course local Maltese dinner was served starting with a platter to share, a soup, a whole seabass and a lovely dessert. The service was excellent and the food was quality perfection. Thanks Victor - we will be back!

This small establishment is in the harbour at Marsaxlokk and is well worth a visit. On receipt of our drinks we were also given some complimentary slices of Maltese bread, a tomato dip and some olives. What a great welcome! For our main courses both myself and my wife enjoyed a filleted sea bass, as it was one of the fish of the day. The fish was well-presented and was cooked well so that it effectively melted in my mouth. Fantastic! The accompanying vegetables and fries were also a delight.

Tasty food and great location! Seafood was fresh and flavorful. Would have loved to see some fish included in the seafood platter. Prices are a bit higher than other coastal spots, but overall a nice dining experience by the water.

Excellent fresh seafood! We had an Octopus carpaccio. And a sea food platter: large enough to share! The sauce of the platter is worldclass! Loved every drop. Dry rosé wine fits perfectly with the food. A fabulous place to eat.

If you’re looking for an affordable yet quality sit down seafood restaurant this is it. The portions are actually quite generous: the octopus carpaccio was so fresh and the risotto despite the hot day out was so flavorful I would recommend this one big time! Despite not having a sea view terrace, nothing about this place felt overwhelmingly touristy and you can tell the owners care about the quality of the service.

We had an amazing meal (ordered two fresh fish specials of the day and octopus), served by very friendly staff! We were lucky enough that the town was having a celebration making it a perfect evening. 100% recommended

I know a thing or two about cocktails and I tell you what: this is a well stocked bar. Really, I was so impressed to see not only the essentials, but even obscure and not very known liquor and spirits that are used in one or maybe two cocktails. Barman really know what they are doing, I watched them prepare drinks with care and concentration. Result is delicious, refreshing and much needed drink. Food was great too, we took some dishes to share as a snack and I do not regret it one bit. Friendly staff, always on the lookout for extra round of drinks. Best cocktails in whole country.

The restaurant sits right by the waterfront, even though the view is not the prettiest, it is still and added plus. The staff are friendly, responsive and talkative. The food and drinks were very good and fresh, but the food is also on the upper side when it comes to prices. The portions could be a little bigger.

Such a lovely spot with a cozy atmosphere and an outstanding seaside view. We came just for drinks — no food this time — and honestly, these were the best cocktails we’ve had in Malta. 🍸 We also discovered Blue Label beer here — quite a nice local brand worth trying. The place might not always be open, so better check the opening hours before heading there. But if you’re around, it’s absolutely worth a visit — especially for the cocktails and the view.

Went for a lunch with family and was pleasantly surprised. The fish soup (Aljotta) was very nice and tasty.

Harbour Lights is hands down the best place to eat on the water in the village. Properly fresh seafood, as in, caught that morning and brought in from the bay, and you can absolutely taste the difference. It’s relaxed but still feels special, with unbeatable views right on the water. Come earlier in the day if you want the full range of fish. Perfect spot for a long lunch or sunset dinner. Feels like a local secret (but probably not for long).

Looking for somewhere for a drink then decided we would have lunch as well, didn't want a lot waiter recommend 2 swordfish steaks, salad & fries for €20. Not long to wait before food came everything was very good. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, there was even live music playing music from our era. The only thing that let the place down was the toilet you have to go behind the counter and nearly into the kitchen, it was in very poor state. Would we go back yes.

Despite the friendly, family-run atmosphere and the sweet staff, the coffee was disappointing—which is quite rare in Malta. The toasts were over-roasted, almost burnt. Also, the toilet was uncomfortably close to the kitchen, with a direct view into the kitchen space, which felt awkward🙈

We tried a lot of fish dishes, but this one is absolutely the BEST we ever had. Local wine, kind waitress, amazing chef and the owner is so kind also. The best thing (besides the food and staff) is that it's 100m away from big fancy restaurants with expensive prices and low quality food. Here you definitely get the real deal, straight from the Maltese heart. We'll highly recommend this restaurant!

Fabulous spot with a view of the harbor, colorful fishing boats, and fishermen fixing their nets. Exactly what we were hoping to find in Malta. We ate an excellent lunch here, with a "choose your own fresh fish" menu. Service, food, wine, and views all perfect.

this is the only place I visited multiple times during my stay in Malta. loved the food, highly highly recommend the grilled calamari and rising sun seafood pasta 🥺❤️ service was pretty decent too! I got some snacks on the house on my return visits, and the people working here are always friendly and nice to chat with 😌 waiting time can be a while, but the food is worth the wait imo 🤤 in fact I'm now still dreaming about the food even after leaving Malta (hence the review), hahaha. will defo return if I get the chance to visit Malta again! 😍

The hygiene is bad, there were so many flies. It literally doesn’t have any air-con. We ordered 2 dishes. The pasta was too hard to eat although the seasoning is so-so. The mix seafood seemed like bad quality frozen seafood, without any freshness. The seafood isn’t juicy and tender as well.
