We had a blast! This trail is fantastic! Thanks for the team for imagining and making this magical land! Our kid couldn’t believe it for a minute and we’ll come back for sure! Even the mushrooms growing around looked like cartoons , so adorable.
D. D — Google review
I'm guessing it's not always 30°C, but when we did the trail it was. I was hoping to cool down a little in the forest, turns out there's not much forest left. The trail contains many spots where a large number of trees has been cut down. I was kind of expecting some kind of mystical/magical adventure. Instead, there were a lot of tree stumps.
Eve W — Google review
Great litlle trail for kids. Got an English translation version of the story at the start.
Frank P — Google review
Well, suffice to say that we've been there several times already with our 4-year old son despite having to drive for 90 minutes each way to get there. Gnomes and their houses are very cute with all sorts of funny details to be discovered. For young kids it's a fantastic walk. For older kids and adults alike there is a line park close to the trail entrance. So there is something to do for the whole family. Highly recommended!
Voi S — Google review
Though located somewhat out of the way in terms of how to get there, a wonderful place to visit with young children. They've really succeeded in inspiring children to go look for the next part of the storyline, which means that even the young ones (our son is 19 months old, his cousin just turned two) are not only motivated to walk along, but moreover experience the whole walk as one big playground activity. The little scenes set along the path are simply magical, and the whole path itself is, of course, set within a beautiful forest environment. An ideal place to make an outdoor walk with children both young and old.
Alexander M — Google review
Nice walk. Quite busy. Very nice for young kids. Take some schwarzwalder schinken for a nice snack
Koen B — Google review
The hike takes about 30-60 minutes depending how long you spend in each station. The story is in German language so it’s recommended to have the translated story if you speak a different language. At the end of the trail there’s a nice playground.

Feldbergbahn

Mentioned on
1 list
Gondola lift station
Transportation
The Feldbergbahn is a fantastic gateway to the stunning Feldberg ski region, which boasts an impressive network of 14 lifts and approximately 25 kilometers of ski runs. This area is complemented by additional lifts in nearby locations such as Altglashutten and Menzenschwand, bringing the total to around 35 lifts and 61 kilometers of trails for winter sports enthusiasts.
It was very good. The tickets to ride the cable car is 18€ for each adult includes entry to go up and down, to the viewpoint tower and to the museum down.
Diego O — Google review
Easy access, well organized, great view and free parking on site. Make sure to use the black forest card to ride this without paying.
Moran P — Google review
Regardless of the poor weather (they can’t control that) the management of the mountain was atrocious. Leaving trails open that had no right to be, and not taking a shovel and relocating some of the snow onto the tow lift tracks- so your skis have to go across rocks… in a fair world, they would be charging off peak prices. Save your money.
Richard P — Google review
Ridiculous. I’ll be ashamed to manage the biggest ski area of Baden-Württemberg like this. This is the worst ski resort I’ve ever been. I came last Friday (20.01.2023) and after 10 days of perfect conditions, minus temperature also during the day and fresh snow, the slopes were full holes (not even well signaled: very dangerous) and stones. There were snow groomers at work while the slopes were open with people, never seen in over 20 years of skiing and really dangerous. Moreover, over half of the lifts were closed (6 open over 15) and several slopes as well (what was open was only partially groomed anyway) but the price of the ski pass was full: 49 euros is robbery for what’s offered. Today (23.01.2023) I came back hoping for a different situation but well, things were even worse. Not groomed slopes and same situation as Friday but due to “wind” the chairlifts were closed. Of course online everything looks open but well, we’re in 1993, who can pretend to have live informations on the openings of the lifts right? I’ll never step in this ski resort again and I highly recommend everyone to save their money and spend them elsewhere. There are 3 weeks of snow per year in the Black Forest and the “managers” of the Feldbergbahn should be ashamed to offer such a “service”.

Beautiful place
Ken M — Google review
There was no wait when visited on Saturday. 14€ for return trip is expensive than it's worth considering the short distance it's covering.. Views once at top is amazing though.

Great hike, crude natural spot and easy to reach spot!

Markthalle

Mentioned on

$$$$affordable
Food court
Markthalle in Freiburg is a vibrant food market located just a few steps away from Martinstor. It offers a diverse culinary experience with options ranging from Italian, Middle Eastern, and Asian cuisines to French, Indian, Brazilian, and German specialties. Housed in the halls of a former printing press, this gastronomic hub features over 20 stalls resembling a culinary bazaar. In the evening, the atmosphere comes alive with live music at various bars and restaurants within the market.
I have come home from my travels over a week ago still thinking about the food from the Afghan food stall called Kabul. It felt like a warm hug from a grandma. I have only tried Afghan food once before when I was a child, so as soon as I saw the rice on display, it was like I was being drawn to it. I tried to use google translate but no luck so I just looked at the pictures and ordered the beef with rice and salad. It was so good I could fly back just to eat it again. It cost €14 for a plate and it’s a food hall so you just sit anywhere to eat. They had this amazingggg red chili sauce on the top of their counter which just elevated the dish. I was with friends and they got the Brazilian dish and they couldn’t finish their food because they said it was quite bland 😂 but ended up sharing my plate with me (even though I really didn’t want to share because it was so good) And then another friend of mine got the mixed bowl and they said the okra was really good. The servers spoke English and it was super quick service, very simple and although I was thinking I’d try some German food on my quick visit to the town, I will now always bang on about the Afghan food 😂
S A — Google review
A small food hall with good selection of cuisines, we ordered the German & Puerto Rico food, they were big portion and very flavorful. If you ran out of food options, come here and you will be happy you do.
Hong L — Google review
It’s not a regular food court! They have live DJ and cute disco ball on the weekend evening. But everyone needs to go to the asian food stall at the corner , close to the stage. I went there everyday along 3 days in Freiburg. As an Asian coming from Asia, i could tell that they serve really good quality of food and flavor bomb!
Angelia M — Google review
Dogs not allowed, saw the sign outside! Just walked inside to have a look alone but couldn’t buy anything. As I was in there during lunch time it was very busy. Lots of choices. Indian, Afghan, Badische, Spanish, Chinese etc. yes there were seating options. Pity, dogs were not permitted!
T. K — Google review
The Markthalle in Freiburg has something to suit every taste. I went for Afghan food and wasn’t disappointed. The prices were absolutely fair – overall Freiburg turned out to be surprisingly affordable. I’d definitely come back here on my next visit to Freiburg.
Thomas M — Google review
Nice place with different kind of food from the world 🌎. I tasted the Viet food pho and it was good enough. I appreciated more the ambiance than the food there. You can easily find tables and also discuss with other people if you want.
Caféchat M — Google review
Not very big, but it offers different food options from different parts of the world. Also, you can buy fruits, sweets, fish and seafood. There is also a bar. An interesting place, where I would gladly return!
Paul C — Google review
A relatively small markthalle, very overcrowded and very diverse food. I tried from Thailand sushi and green Thai curry. Sushi were freshly made. Absolutely delicious and the Thai curry was very good with crunchy vegetables.

Freiburg Cathedral

Catholic cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
The Freiburg Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Our Lady, is a stunning example of Gothic architecture located in the heart of Freiburg's old town. The cathedral features a square tower that offers panoramic views of the picturesque Black Forest.
The market was absolutely perfect! The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, filled with lively stalls and an amazing variety of products. It was a pleasure just to walk around, surrounded by wonderful scents and the energy of a bustling market. What really stood out to me was the friendliness of the vendors – every interaction was warm and pleasant, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. It’s the kind of place where you can spend hours exploring, tasting, and soaking up the local culture. Truly a must-visit!
Barak W — Google review
A large and very impressive place, with beautiful interior architecture. The main hall is stunning and worth the visit. However, the climb to the top is not particularly special. Once you reach the upper level, you can pay extra to go a bit higher, but it’s unnecessary and not worth the money. The stairs are narrow, making it extremely difficult to pass when people are coming in the opposite direction — the same problem on the way down. You can also see the bell up close, but be aware that the sound is deafening.
Yoav A — Google review
Freiburg Cathedral is absolutely beautiful, full of incredible details everywhere you look. The architecture is stunning. Every corner of the cathedral shows amazing craftsmanship. It’s truly a must-see! ✨
Jessica — Google review
It's free to visit no entry fee needed. Loved the tinted glasswork and the atmosphere. Very peaceful as other churches around. What catches the eye is the architecture. Worth a visit.
Siddhartha A — Google review
Cathedral’s history started being Romanesque church around 1200, transitioned to Gothic structure in 1250s (inspired by nearby Strasbourg cathedral) with West Tower being completed in 1330. While the city was heavily bombed in WW2, cathedral survived with minor damage (likely due to being notable landmark for Allied Bombers).
Mike Z — Google review
I love visiting Cathedrals! Each city has their own unique church and style and I just love the architectural designs on them! This one was one of my favorites! The interior was just breathtaking and you can tell how much effort went into the design because each statue is so intricate!
Ms. K — Google review
I became aware of Freiburger Münster on my first day in Freiburg. It's really hard to miss the sight of it. I visited it on my first night when it was lit up. The enormous size of it and amount of decorative detail left me speechless. One day I noticed that the front entrance was open for visitors, so I took the opportunity. I wasn't prepared for the grandure that awaited me inside. The vast volume of the interior left my mouth hanging open many times as I analyzed the columns and ceilings. I spent alot of time studying the stained glass windows which depict many vivid stories. What's great about the windows is that you absolutely can't experience them the same way from outside. The quality of light inside the cathedral, from the outside light when it hits the windows, is only fit for a structure this caliber. Please, out of respect, obey the signs and dont walk over or through the areas which are clearly marked off. Also, please dont take videos and photo's of the inside, just enjoy the experience of the moment.

A stunning gothic cathedral with beautiful stained glass windows. Definitely worth a visit from outside and inside. Would suggest going at night to enjoy the views.

Bachle is a coffee shop with a special focus on the preparation of perfect cups of coffee. It has a rustic interior, green plants, and the focus is squarely on making excellent coffee. The baristas are happy to share information about the beans, grind, roasting and flavor. It's an ideal spot for true coffee nerds. Since May 2020, Juliane Konig and her experienced team have been welcoming visitors with specialty coffee and homemade delicacies.
Excellent staff, absolutely amazing food and wonderful atmosphere, very cute and cozy. Our coffee was so good we didn't go anywhere else for the rest of our trip. Everything was fast and easy!
Suzy S — Google review
Amazing coffee here! One of the best specialty coffee I’ve had in Germany. The flat white was smooth and balanced, and the cascara soda was such a refreshing surprise on a sunny day. What a gem. The café is super cozy with a relaxed vibe. There’s plenty of working space and lots of plugs, so it’s great for working or studying. The staff are welcoming and make the place feel inviting. Definitely worth visiting, both for the coffee and the atmosphere.
Theresa L — Google review
We went there for breakfast in Sunday, and we didn't get disappointed. Everything was perfect and the food was delicious. Everyone there were super friendly, and they serve excellent coffee 👌🏻
Abdullah A — Google review
It is always good when the person serving you recommends the best coffee blend for a flat white. Exceptionally friendly service and the flat white was excellent (as was the cake)
Michael M — Google review
What an amazing gem hidden in Freiburg. If slow and authentic is how you like your coffee than you have a great place to visit. Extra plus for the kind owner I had a chat with. Just go and visit it already!
Karolina S — Google review
After searching and searching for a decent specialty coffee place in Freiburg, we finally found a good one. Baechle Baristas are pretty knowledgeable, espresso-based drinks have a good balance of bold/fruity/acidity taste, and space quite intimate. Weekend brunch is highly recommended and a must try are the tomatoe brioche and shakshouka, super tasty and beautiful dishes. Coffee presentation is pretty plain (see pic) in a mug, it can be pimped by including a small wooden coaster and spoon on the side for better presentation. But here you’ll find one of the best tasting coffee blends for sure! Pastries are also yummy!
LAAL — Google review
To be honest, we didn't try the coffee or any other drinks, but we did order cakes, and unfortunately, all of them were dry. The coffee roll, in particular, was quite disappointing, and we were expecting a much better dessert experience. Sadly, every cake we tried was equally underwhelming.
Asalita — Google review
Best coffee I’ve had in Freiburg and one of the best in general. Love the flat white and you get to choose your own beans. The shop was cosy and had great cinnamon buns too. Loved it!

German Clock Museum

Specialty Museums
Museum featuring thousands of antique clocks & watches from the Black Forest & around the world.
Very informative and complete history and displays of the first time keeping machines to current atomic clocks. Displays and museum are setup on multiple floors easily navigated with wide staircases and an elevator if needed. They do have a tour but are easily managed on your own. Has book guides in different languages
Ed E — Google review
Beautiful Museum with many interesting watches, included in the black card. but.. It won't suit everyone. As an adult I was very interested but my 13 year old nephew wasn't very engaged. If it was more interactive or if there were cleared English explanations, maybe he would appreciate it more. So, if this place is on your path anyone and it's free for you (with the card) - do come! Otherwise and if you have other places to be, it's ok 😉 As mentioned in other reviews, the staff is indeed very nice and welcoming ☺️
Oh G — Google review
The guided tour was very interesting, much more informative than going around alone would be. The guide showed how the clocks worked, and the concept of time that developed from the Middle Ages, where clocks were out by approximately a minute a day, to today. The need for a constant time within a town, to the railway which brought the need for shared time. Why a cuckoo (cuckcuck)? What about an orchestra clock?
Philippa L — Google review
Nice place to visit to see the evolution of clocks in general. It also has a special section about Cockoo clocks. There are some exhibits where we can press a button and get a feel of how the clock used to work. The demonstration of the very old musicals and clocks by the people working there was just amazing. The sun clock outside the museum was surprisingly very accurate to the minute ! You can easily spend a couple of hours here.
Ananth K — Google review
A mid size museum where you can see a lot of beautiful clocks, watches (and there were some ugly ones 😏). The service was also very kind. There was a short interactive session about mechanical musical instruments. I recommend for families.
Andras F — Google review
Really interesting museum. Descriptions were mostly in German but the counter lent us a booklet with English descriptions that covers most of the museum. There is also a short demonstration of the musical clocks in German and English which we enjoyed very much. Overall we had a good time and a great place to visit especially so when the weather is not ideal. We spent about 2.5hrs there.
Jon — Google review
Very interesting museum, covering all the history of clocks, from the sun "clock" to nowadays. Old and new, large and small, you will find a wide variety of clocks.

Triberg Waterfalls

Waterfalls
Triberg Waterfalls, touted as one of Germany's highest waterfalls, is a must-visit attraction in Triberg. Although it may not hold the title for the absolute highest waterfall in Germany, standing at 162 meters tall and cascading down 7 steps into the valley below, it certainly offers an impressive sight. Accessible via a hiking trail, this paid attraction has managed to preserve its natural beauty.
A must-visit in the heart of the Black Forest! Triberg Waterfall impresses with its seven-tiered cascades and lush forest setting. The trails are well-marked, family-friendly, and offer stunning photo spots. While it’s not a single dramatic drop, the natural charm, fresh mountain air, and occasional squirrel sightings make it a memorable stop. 🎒📸 💡 Tip: Go early or during off-peak hours for a peaceful experience. Don’t miss the night illumination if you’re around in the evening!
Prasanna B — Google review
The student ticket costs 0.50€ less than the usual adult tickets The waterfalls is absolutely beautiful and you can hike all the way to the top for different views. There are various hiking trails to explore the entire area. Sometimes you'll get to see the endemic red squirrel.
Manidip M — Google review
An easy nature trail accessible with asphalt, but its elevation is not easy for those who have difficulty walking or strollers. Relatively reasonable entrance prices. Most of it is shaded and pleasant. The entire trail and the beauty you see in the waterfall of the humpbacked trees are very beautiful and a highly recommended place.
איל א — Google review
Amazing waterfall. Entry fee - 8€ per adult. Card payment accepted. WC facility is there. Easy and steep paths are there to go to the top of waterfall.
Renjith M — Google review
Stunning, the immediate walk to the waterfall is 8 min max. You can walk more at different hiking intensities higher up the waterfall. Great pathways up the trail
Safiya — Google review
The Triberg Waterfalls are really beautiful and worth seeing! The views are amazing, and the walk through the forest feels fresh and peaceful. You can take great photos and enjoy nature all around. However, the entry fee felt a bit high for such a short walk, and the place can get quite crowded, especially on weekends. Parking can also be tricky if you come late. Overall, it’s a lovely place to visit once — great for nature lovers, but be ready for a bit of a crowd and some walking uphill.
Abhishek T — Google review
The ticket (8€ per adult) also gives you access to a few other museums (so do this one first!). Dog friendly. Pretty waterfall. A bit of a slow and steady hike up to the top. Lots of people with camera tripods capturing the perfect pics.
Adele P — Google review
Visited the waterfalls for free. Get on the path to the Froschbrunnen (Frog Fountain), ignoring all signs saying no path to the waterfalls. Once at the Frog Fountain take the right-most path from it & stay on this as it curves left around the hill & you will eventually see the swarms of tourists down below you on the lower waterfall paths. Take the first available path down to join the path around the waterfalls. You can either exit back the way you came, or go out through the turnstile that the paying tourists come through at the bottom of the waterfalls.

Château du Haut-Kœnigsbourg is a 12th-century mountain fortress that has been fully restored and offers stunning views of the Alsatian landscape. Situated at an altitude of 757 meters in the Vosges forest, it provides a breathtaking panorama of Alsace's plain, Vosges valleys, Black Forest, and even the Alps on clear days. The castle's interior features medieval elements such as towers, bastions, dungeons, and drawbridges.
Château du Haut-Kœnigsbourg is one of the most complete castle I've ever visited in Germany, not just the 900 years of history it carries, also the fact that it's a German castle in France. You'll learn lots of things, to me, one of the most special thing here is how they demonstrate all those medieval period armour and swords ⚔️, you realize that how the knights fought back to hundreds years ago. Château du Haut-Kœnigsbourg is also a perfect spot to enjoy the view of the territory of kingdom used to be.

Great View from the mountain top, also nicely restored castle. Kind of shows the common French-German history quite well. Nice place to visit. Not the cheapest visit, but definitely worth it.

An amazing place. As an English visitor I was greeted with kindness and plenty of English signs to read. The staff were lovely and the cafe was fantastique!! Well worth the trip and would visit again!! ** Just beware, lots of steps!! ;)

True travel through time as you enter the castle doors. You can feel the deep connection with the Middle Ages and the ways of life in that castle. There is a rich presentation of the rooms and l their decors based on the era. In addition to the unbelievable gorgeous view of the hills around since you are on top of the mountain. A fantastic must-see, in my opinion

As it seems with all restored castles, this one looks real and authentic with reconstruction finished in 1908. I wish the weather was more accommodating at the time of my visit to check out the views of surroundings from the castle walls, but, alas, fog was just getting denser. That added eerie feeling moving the floors and entryways of the castle. Genuinely liked the visit, kind of scored all the marks visiting European castle. Castle has started as a watchtower for Rhine surveillance in 1147 and expanded in to a fortress at the end of 12th century. Fell into disrepair and neglect in 17th century and had its lucky break in 1899 when Kaiser Wilhelm II decided to restore it.

Very cool storybook castle on a hill. It was burned and looted in 1633 rebuilt in 1908 by Wilhelm II. There are W's everywhere for Wilhelm. Many of the weapons in the armory are authentic from the middle ages. The view alone is worth the visit. Rumor has it the art director for Game of Thrones visited for inspiration.

I think it's one of the best preserved castles I have ever seen. Absolutely worth a visit! The mountain ridge is 757m and the castles defense towers are 65m high. Fantastic panoramic views over Alsace.

Located in Triberg, Germany, the House of 1000 Clocks is a must-visit attraction known for its eccentricity and impressive collection of cuckoo clocks. The shop features a giant cuckoo clock and oversized bears on its exterior, making it hard to miss. Despite being considered a tourist trap, the store offers a wide range of clocks in various styles and prices. Visitors can admire the craftsmanship displayed on the jam-packed walls while exploring traditional and kitsch masterpieces.
We happened to pass by this store on our way to Baden-Baden. Although it wasn’t part of our original plan, we were drawn in by its charming exterior, so we pulled over to take a look. Inside we discovered a stunning shop that mainly sells a wide variety of cuckoo clocks, along with some souvenirs.

Big store with a lot of clocks to choose from, price range from very affordable to very steep. Also very nice staff. It even has a nice little terrass outside to enjoy a coffee while hearing and seeing the small stream below.

House of 1000 Clocks was a great experience from start to finish. The owner handled everything perfectly, from the purchase to the shipping. The package was packed really well and shipped by UPS, and it actually arrived in the U.S. even before we got back home. The clock works like a charm so far, and I couldn’t be more excited about buying it. It feels special knowing we got it from one of the clock-making shops right in the heart of the Black Forest. I’m sure both me and my wife will enjoy this clock for years, and hopefully it’ll last long enough for my kids to enjoy it too. Overall, amazing experience, I highly recommend this place. Big thanks to the management for the fast shipping and for taking such good care of the package.

An amazing cuckoo clock and souvenir shop in Triberg, Germany. The complete collection of clocks is mind blowing to say the least. Price is on the expensive side, for handcrafted clocks in traditional craftsmanship is sure to bore a hole on your purse. The shop caters to small souvenirs for tourists to collectors of rare artefacts. Must visit location in Triberg.
Nayanjyoti K — Google review
The perfect place to buy cuckoo clock, I will definitely recommend. They have plenty of options to choose from and the staffs are amazing. Very helpful and patience.
Johny W — Google review
If you’re looking for authentic German cuckoo clocks, this is the perfect place! They offer a wide variety— with different makers, sizes, and price points—so there’s truly something for everyone. Walking in can feel a bit overwhelming at first, but the staff are incredibly knowledgeable. Rebecca was especially helpful—she shared interesting details about the history of the clocks, the craftsmanship behind different makers, and how the mechanisms work. While the shop also carries other knickknacks, the cuckoo clocks are definitely the star of the show. Whether you’re shopping on a large or small budget, this place is incredible!
Maeve K — Google review
I contacted Customer Service of House of 1000 Clocks by email to get some information on a clock purchased from them in the late 70s, brought back to the U.S. but never used. I did get an auto response saying I would be contacted in 3 to 4 business days. A month went by and nothing, so I reached out again and was emailed a short list of U.S. based clock repair shops? I would have thought that they might have been intrigued by this, a clock of theirs, nearly 50 years old a time capsule. Yeah, think about it, which former employee may have made it in the old "Cold War" days when they were in West Germany. Its a shame there isn't pride in the workplace anymore.

Black Forest Open Air Museum

Mentioned on
3 lists
Open air museum
Museums
The Black Forest Open Air Museum is a recreated village farm from the 16th-18th centuries, featuring authentic buildings such as a storehouse, bakery, mills, and crafts. The museum also includes the Castle of Wolfach, one of the oldest in the region with exhibits on local history and rafting. Visitors can explore historic farm buildings and learn about life in past centuries. The museum offers workshops demonstrating activities like laundry washing and pottery making.
We stopped at the Black Forest Open Air Museum in Gutach late one afternoon during our Black Forest road trip, and even though we didn’t have time to go inside and explore all the exhibits, we still really enjoyed the atmosphere around the entrance. We drove there by car and had no problem finding parking right near the entrance, which was super convenient. The museum is set in beautiful surroundings with green hills and old farmhouses scattered around the property, giving you a glimpse of what’s waiting inside. Since we arrived too late to make the most of the full experience—the museum closes at 6 PM with last entry at 5 PM—we decided to slow down and enjoy what was still open. We browsed the souvenir shop, which had plenty of local handmade items, traditional gifts, and a few quirky finds that made us smile. After that, we grabbed a cold beer and some proper German currywurst at the kiosk right next to the beer garden seating area. Sitting there under the trees, enjoying the food and the relaxed vibe, actually turned out to be a great little memory from our trip. The setting is beautiful, and even without entering the museum itself, it felt like a worthwhile stop. Next time, we’d definitely plan to arrive much earlier to explore the historic farmhouses and exhibitions in full. So if you’re planning a visit, make sure to give yourself a good couple of hours to enjoy everything this place has to offer.

Great place to see how people lived and worked in previous years. I enjoyed seeing building construction, live demonstrations, and local animals. It was amazing how hard people worked just to live and possibly use extra products for sale and income. There is a nice relaxing restaurant in the entrance area with tasty food and drinks, served by excellent friendly staff. Plenty of parking. This facility is appropriate for adults, kids, and groups. This is a large, hilly facility but with nice views. If you have a few hours, this is a good experience.

A fascinating look at rural life in the Black Forest. A huge area with a number of farmhouses, all set up with very interesting displays and information boards, with German, French and English versions. Amazing to walk through farmhouses built in the 1500's and get a real sense of what it would have been like to live and work here hundreds of years ago. We spent 4 hours and could have spent much longer.
Malcolm D — Google review
Loads to find out about from Farmhouses in use since the C17th, through to places last used in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Spent about 4.5hrs wandering around on a changeable day of weather. Excellent wine, especially the young wine. Superb restaurant food. I had the Pumpkin soup, which was really good.

This open air museum is like stepping back in time! It's a large museum located in the Black Forest where you can wander around freely to see how they used to live in the region during different eras. You can enter each building and see inside homes. It is like stepping inside someone's house which is very unusual! I really like how they made it so real. It's fascinating! Everything is translated in French, English and Spanish I think. So you can learn more about how they used to live and the history of the region. There's also some animals around the museum like bunnies, cows, donkeys or chickens. Some of them could use a bigger space though like the bunnies and the cows. But other than that, it seems they're taking a good care of them which is important.
Melanie M — Google review
Beautiful setting with many historic buildings and traditional furnishings. The demonstration of bobbing lacing and shoe making were very informative.
Elke B — Google review
Interesting historical displays in original farm houses from around the Black Forest. I particularly enjoyed meeting the pigs and sampling traditionally brewed schnapps.
Amy T — Google review
The museum contains historic buildings in their original locations and relocated from their original sites. The learning experience was engaging as we walked through the simulated environments and imagined life in the time period. Exhibit captions in multiple languages provided insights and details into the design and use of the buildings. I wanted to spend more time reviewing the museum exhibits.

Le Palais Du Pain D'épices is a delightful destination that immerses visitors in the enchanting world of gingerbread. Nestled at over 800 meters, this charming museum invites you to explore the rich history and production secrets of this beloved treat. As you stroll along a guided path, you'll encounter captivating displays, including a festive Christmas-themed room that adds to the magic. Families will particularly enjoy the interactive experience where children can decorate their own Gingerbread Man, creating lasting memories.
Great museum, would advise to visit in the morning while bakers are still working… Take time to ask for a combined ticket to decorate your own “Männele” or wee man of cake…

A fun and cute place to visit when you’re in the Alsace if you want to know more of the regional delicacy pain d’epice. Friendly staff. The shop is impossible to resist.
Tommelot — Google review
Small but interesting little museum on the history of the production of ginger bread in the region. Guided along a single path you'll be taken past a number of charming displays, culminating in a Christmas-themed room, before leading on to the bakery hall. Especially this latter room appeals from kids, although our 4yo got a bit scared from the scenery. This was a pity, as apart from the history of ginger bread, the museum seems to be mostly targeted at children... Be sure to come during a working day, by the way, as otherwise baking activities are halted and beef won't be much to see in the production hall. The tour through the museum ends up in the factory's shop, where you'll have the opportunity to buy any of the great variety of locally produced ginger breads and related trinkets. At €4 per adult, entrance is not terribly expensive, but don't expect to spend too much time here either...

Mont Sainte-Odile is a truly magical and spiritual place in Alsace. Perched high on a mountain, the monastery offers breathtaking views across the Rhine plain, the Black Forest, and even to the Vosges peaks. The site is filled with history and serenity — from the beautiful chapels and peaceful cloisters to the mysterious Pagan Wall that surrounds the mountain. Walking around the grounds, you feel a unique sense of calm and connection, as if time slows down. It’s a perfect blend of nature, culture, and spirituality, making it one of the most unforgettable spots in Alsace. Alternative Wolf and Bear Park Black Forest

Animal protection organization
Nature & Parks
Open-air animal park with a pedestrian loop, featuring bears, wolves & lynxes in a forested habitat.
As long as you remember that this is not a zoo, but a caretaking place for neglected animals, you’ll have a great time for a reasonable price. Don’t expect to be entertained, or spend hours here. Don’t expect a guarantee to see all the animals either. It’s NOT a zoo. All the happier you’ll be when you, like me, get lucky and spot the animals at their ‘curious’ moments. Great value, worth a little detour. I loved it and the wonderful work these people do. I’d recommend considering a visit of roughly 2 hours for most people. Families with children maybe slight longer because of the facilities (playground, restaurant). Photographers might even spend a whole day here, depending on their patience for an animal to strike a pose.
Mavic T — Google review
A special place to visit to see all the bears, wolves, and other rescued animals. The bears were out and about, but all the other animals were in hiding. The place has a nice cafe/restaurant at the entrance. It's worth the drive if you love bears (animals).
אדי ל — Google review
Wonderfully managed and do fulfil a great purpose - bears, wolves and lynx rescued from zoos, circus and private ownership, and allowing them to live cared for in a natural habit. Not a huge site, and won't take more than 1-2 hours to look around it all, but still worth a visit to see their great work.
Ken F — Google review
We visited on a weekend arrived not long after opening and got straight in paid with card on arrival. It is not very well signposted of their os a particular route to take around the park and it seemed some enclosures were under maintanence. The welfare of the animals seemed good and they have space to remain hidden so will not always be possible to see them. A nice place for a walk around onsite cafe is reasonable for snacks. Organic options is good too.
Nicola — Google review
A park for bears, wolves and lynxes rescued from despicable circumstances. Thus, do not expect the typical feed-till-they drop wild animal park here, but large areas for animals that can hide well from visitors and the expectation of absolute silence from visitors. Smoking is also prohibited, which makes the visit much much pleasurable.
Lars L — Google review
a very beautiful park with bears, wolves and lynx. the animals have a lot of space and cover, but it's still possible to see them from the path. signs along the route give you information about each individual animal. when you're in the area, go take a look!

Barrage Vauban, a 17th-century pink sandstone weir and bridge in Strasbourg, was originally constructed as a defensive structure to protect the city from potential attacks. Today, it stands as a historic site housing sculptures and artwork. The panoramic viewpoint at the tip of the dam offers stunning views of the city, including Le Petite France and the Ponts Couverts.
It is a wonderful place, especially walking up to have a view of the entire place and the Cathedral was an amazing sight also. Great place for photography. Within the tunnels are also some great sculptures / statues

Really nice place to either walk through and look at some of the stone sculptures that came from other places or to go to the top and enjoy the view. We came there at dawn when the purple lights were just switched on which was really nice.
Annabella W — Google review
Barrage Vauban in Strasbourg is a compact masterpiece of stone, strategy, and quiet beauty. Built in the late 1600s as a military defense structure, this fortified dam was once capable of flooding entire plains to protect the city. Today, it stands as a peaceful reminder of that past—welcoming visitors to climb up its stone stairs or take the elevator to a panoramic rooftop terrace. From the top, the view is breathtaking: the Ponts Couverts with their ancient towers, the gentle flow of the canal below, the half-timbered houses of Petite France, and the spire of the Strasbourg Cathedral rising like a stone sentinel in the distance. Down below, the cool, echoing corridor of the dam holds a quiet gallery of sculptures and cast figures—many rescued from the Cathedral and other monuments. The arches hum softly with the sound of running water, and the whole space feels like a walk through time. Though unassuming at first glance, the Barrage is deeply atmospheric. It invites lingering—people sketch, take photos, or simply sit and watch the light shift across the rooftops. Entry is free, the experience is rich, and despite its historical weight, it feels surprisingly serene. A brief visit here leaves a lasting impression, especially if you enjoy subtle places that blend history, architecture, and stillness so effortlessly.

The Barrage Vauban was constructed in the 17th century on the River Ill, so it is one of the main historic attractions in Strasbourg. The Alsatian Museum is a captivating collection housed in interconnected 16th- and 17th-century mansions, offering a glimpse into the history of Alsace. With over 5,000 artifacts and artworks, the museum paints a vivid picture of daily life in the region during the 18th and 19th centuries. Visitors can explore traditional clothing, homeware, tools, toys, furniture, religious artifacts across its 30 rooms.
A small exposition with interesting and simple descriptions in English German and French. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly. There are a few souvenirs to buy at the shop store. the toilets are a mess but they have luggage deposit boxes. all in all a great visit

An interesting museum that presents the way of life of the old inhabitants of the Alsace area. Hosted by a group of old, interconnected houses. Beautiful inner courtyard! You need approximately one hour to visit it.
Paul C — Google review
It is what I can call "a cozy museum." You would not like it if you are waiting for a huge museum with really old things and detailed information. It contains that, of course, but not to the extent of similar museums. Instead, and that is why I am giving it 5 stars, is the whole environment, it makes you feel like you are in a late medival house (till early moden) where you get to see how the people lived, and that is really cool
Ragui F — Google review
I visited this museum on the first Sunday of April—my second time here. Though it’s relatively small, the museum is thoughtfully curated, offering an engaging and informative look into the livelihood, beliefs, and culture of the Alsatian people from the 16th to 19th centuries.

A wonderful experience! One can see how people in Elsass have lived throughout the years. One learns about history and visits one amazing house which has been turned to the museum.
Christina R — Google review
Such an interesting collection of exhibits in a beautifully restored building. The artifacts and scenes of daily life that have been reconstructed are well done and help to show what life was like in the area hundreds of years ago. The museum is right next to the river and only a few minutes walk from the other sites in old town. We arrived without tickets on a weekend and had no problem getting in immediately.

Sights & Landmarks
The Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-Strasbourg is a stunning Gothic edifice that dates back to the 1200s and features a remarkable 16th-century astronomical clock and a beautiful rose window. Its iconic 142-meter spire can be seen towering over the city's rooftops, making it an unmissable landmark.
I visited the cathedral on a schools trip and it was amazing. The fog on that day made the spire disappear into the clouds which was very cool. The inside was also beautiful, and the large clock was meant to have an animated show happen at 2:00 but it was a little disappointing, with the bell just ringing twice, and that was it. But everything else was spectacular. 👍
Frederik — Google review
Strasbourg Cathedral is an awe-inspiring masterpiece of Gothic art. Its soaring spire and intricate facade leave you speechless before you even step inside. The stained glass glows with breathtaking color and detail. The atmosphere inside is both grand and deeply spiritual. A visit here is unforgettable—a true jewel of Europe.
Roberto S — Google review
Architectural wonders. I really surprised and wondered on this cathedral architecture. It amazing and look very nice. There is no entrance fee. But there is security and he will check your bags. Inside of the cathedral is also great. You will enjoy it. Everything about this cathedral is displayed on the screen inside the cathedral that really valuable. Not too crowded if you have patience you may get nice photos of the cathedral. In side there is clock and its make bell on specific time.
Jolly J — Google review
The overall experience is good but was busy. So many people always in the way. The history of it being built was very interesting. It's amazing that structures can remain in the same location basically untouched for such a long time. The clock in the back is a highlight that you don't see in any other churches.

The Strasbourg Cathedral is an absolute masterpiece of Gothic architecture and one of the most stunning landmarks in Europe. Its intricate stone façade, towering spire, and detailed sculptures leave you in awe from the moment you see it. Inside, the soaring nave, beautiful stained-glass windows, and the famous astronomical clock are simply breathtaking. You can climb to the top for a panoramic view of Strasbourg and the surrounding Alsace region — the climb is worth it, though there are sometimes long queues, especially on weekends and holidays. The cathedral is surrounded by charming squares and streets, making it a perfect spot to explore, take photos, and enjoy the city’s historic atmosphere. A must-visit for anyone in Strasbourg — whether you’re a history buff, architecture lover, or just looking for a spectacular view!
Niroshan — Google review
On a foggy morning in November we o pop aid a visit to the Notre Dame Cathedral in Strasbourg. We missed the morning opening time so we made sure we were standing in line for the afternoon opening hours. The queue, although long, moved quickly, and once inside we could see all of the stained glass windows and the mechanical clock in the far corner. We were there when the clock struck one o’clock - so not much movement on the animated figures at the top of the clock! The cathedral is worth a visit - even in winter!
Annette K — Google review
Strasbourg’s iconic cathedral is truly breathtaking. From the outside, you can admire the magnificence of Gothic architecture in every detail. The massive towers and finely carved stone decorations are mesmerizing. Once inside, the peaceful atmosphere immediately surrounds you; the colorful light filtering through the stained-glass windows gives the cathedral a mystical feeling. Climbing up the tower is a bit challenging, but the view makes it absolutely worth it. You can see the rooftops of the city, the Rhine River, and the Alsace landscape stretching far into the distance. The astronomical clock inside the cathedral is also a must-see – both historically and technically fascinating. Whether during the day or illuminated at night, the cathedral offers a unique beauty in every moment. It’s not only a religious site but also a cultural and historical treasure. Anyone visiting Strasbourg should definitely make time to see it

We came for the Luminous exhibition in the evening. It was very beautiful, colorful and joyful with the show and the music in the background also was so beautiful. If you come for the show better come at least 20 minutes early to pick up the good seat. Totally recommend the show !

Bad experience! They close the station at night and make you sit outside
Prateek S — Google review
We just bought two tickets for the train from the Gare Centrale to Innsbruck with two bikes, in total 232 euro. In the train in Basel it appears the two tickets we recieved are onle for persons and not for the bikes. So we had to pay an extra amount of 28,- euro for the bikes. We do have another transfer, so therefore we have to buy another ticket for the bike. The woman behind the counter didn't speak good English and she was very impatiant. She was also rude to my girlfriend.

This is where the advantages end, there are few machines for buying tickets, the screens do not show the track number, only shortly before the train arrives. They came to ask me for money no less than 4 times each in 1 hour of waiting, the SNCF agents came once, we had peace for 5 minutes max, then again. Little advice: don't plan to wait for your train in the station when you're early. Very negative point of my weekend in Strasbourg. Petit conseil, ne pas prevoir d'attendre son train dans la gare quand on est en avance. Point très negatif de mon week-end à Strasbourg.

(Translated by Google) The very pretty station, well, the old part, is hidden behind a horrendous modernist façade... The connections between tracks are well marked and signposted, and the trains are generally accessible. There are tables and chargers, shops of all kinds and fast food. The 3 stars comes from the fact that, at night they close the station, it is filled with drunk beggars (this is the fault of security, but above all of the city itself). It is the second time that we have to spend the night there, and it is impossible, we have to walk around the city at dawn.

Parc de l'Orangerie is a charming park located in Strasbourg, dating back to the 17th century. Situated near the European Parliament and the Court of Human Rights, it boasts a rich history that dates back to the French Revolution. Originally home to 140 orange trees confiscated from Chateau de Bouxwiller, only three of these trees remain today and can be seen in the park's greenhouses on certain days.
A lovely park and formal gardens. Great to wander about and do bird spotting. Check out the huge nests on the building's chimneys! Just a short walk from EU parliament which makes it a great stopping point before walking down road to catch no.2 bus back towards the central station.

The park is beautiful and peaceful. There is a nice lake with ducks and a small white temple that looks very pretty. The grass is green and there are many trees for shade. It is a great place for a walk, a picnic, or to relax. The atmosphere is calm, and it is perfect for sunny days.

The Royal Palace is a must-visit event that offers an impressive show, likened to the grandeur of the Moulin Rouge in Paris but with a larger stage and more affordable prices. The performances are captivating, featuring fantastic artists that provide top-notch entertainment. While some visitors found the food to be good but not exceptional, the overall experience of the show is highly recommended. Guests have expressed their enjoyment and satisfaction with the incredible performances and great value for money at this amazing venue.
Close to Strasbourg, 30km drive, surprisingly a real international class cabaret, outstanding spectacle! I recommend to have dinner before at Le Versailles Restaurant, one of their 2 located in the complex, nice menu. And the last part of the night, joining the final party at The Lounge, night club dedicated only to the guests of the cabaret! A real outstanding evening!!

A parisian cabaret at la campagne. We went with family and friends to spend some time together. We had a wonderful dinner. The show and the artists were amazing. It is really incredible to find and to believe a such place exists, especially in the countryside.

Famous cabaret show, offers a complete evening and night of entertainment. We had a great dinner in the restaurant Versailles, very kitch decorations but good food and decent wines. Don't go there for a quiet dinner for 2 though, everybody is cramped on large tables. There is live music and possibilities to dance. The show was amazing (Flamboyant) with the acrobatic tours, the dancing nice and the singing ok. The lounge club is a very nice way to finish the evening since there is nothing else to do in the region. Service is quick and friendly, music is not too loud, still possible to have a conversation, and the dance floor was quickly filled with hits from seventies up to today.

Museum Frieder Burda, located in the Lichtentaler Allee Park, is a modern art museum designed by architect Richard Meier. The museum's collection of about 1,000 paintings, sculptures, photographs, and works on paper focuses on Classical Modernism and contemporary art. It was established in 1998 to preserve and make accessible the personal collection of Frieder Burda.
I got to witness the Yoshitomo Nara exhibition in first person. It was a magnificent experience. I really liked the art's arrangements within the gallery and there was a lot of space to just be and take in the art. Also there was music playing, matching the artist's inspiration, and that was really great along the side. The staff was also really nice, I don't usually talk much to personnel, but here I felt very welcome. Will be back very, very soon.

Great exhibition of German Impressionism with Liebermann in main focus. We enjoyed it very much, even though usually we are drawn more to abstract, surrealist and post-impressionistic pieces
Greg L — Google review
The museum is immersed in nature and it has been an amazing setting to discover the work of Nicolas Party, which is pretty much rooted in nature. The synergy with his natural landscapes and the contrast with the apocalypse and the decay of things that is a focal point of the artist has been quite magnificent. I did feel that the exhibition is rather small and restricted for the price of the ticket - although admittedly Nicolas Party created a lot of murals specifically for this museum, and I didn’t love the museum shop. I wish there were items on sale that matched the exhibition and the modern spirit of it, there were classic things on sale that you could find in any store out of this museum. I didn’t have coins with me and I couldn’t leave my jacket in the garderobe for 1 euro. I wish in the future this kind of details will be modernized. All in all a pleasant Sunday experience and I would recommend visiting if you have the chance.
Nina T — Google review

The Pousette exhibition didn’t resonate with me. Feels like a market driven exhibition. The museum building’s design appears to be aging quickly and does not embody a timeless character.

Great contemporary art museum. At the time of my visit you could reserve a spot to be taken a portait by a robot arm. There were also audioguides available for 5 eur. There is not much information, and we did not take them but they could be worth it. We went with the Museumspass.

Beautiful casino. We had such a good time playing roulette. There is a dress code to enter so be sure to check the website for the rules. The dealers and other employees were quite friendly and made for an enjoyable experience. It is fully wheelchair accessible with an accessible bathroom as well.

NOT GOING BACK. SERVICE NOT SO GOOD, ONLY 1-2 Tables (Roulette & something else). Didn’t see BlackJack and above all, no one there to provide any material gestures of guidance or hospitality. Actually saw the 2 tables at about 3-4PM, and was totally unimpressed. Baden-Baden yes, Casino pass it. The architecture is fantastic, and the inside quite clean. The coat-check lady was nice; but the Admissions lady was definitely not nice. I was well-dressed in a black-leather jacket, tux-white shirt and a gold-laced bow tie. The B forced me to drop €10-20 on an unnecessary jacket rental; and was a snot about it. Reminded me of my first encounters in East Germany when The Wall was coming down. They thought of everything, but the people and what they might need. Walking away, I saw the Illuminati of the Casio Bar. What could go wrong here? They had everything, but a bartender; because the 3 or 4 of them were kind of in the back corner talking. No attention whatsoever to customers. As an afterthought, a bartender appeared. WOW. For the $$$$ they were charging I worried about buying dinner. Service = 5/10. Real nice place if you want to hold your mouth open, but if you came to play Blackjack or another game—you’d have more fun by a long shot at the Tampa Seminole Hard Rock Cafe (at half the cost). Not so cool. They have a lot to learn about taking care of the client. When I turned in my Jacket, Ms. N. Admissions was supervising the coat check lady with a specious, down-the-nose look. Really Surprised as was my darling. The surrounding promenade OUTSIDE OF THE CASINO was filled with Baden-Baden interest, history, and adventure.
Adam J — Google review
The Baden-Baden casino is truly stunning: an elegant, refined place full of history, definitely worth a visit. However, what a strange idea to force men to wear a jacket in the middle of summer, with the heat unbearable and the air conditioning not really up to the task. In the end, you end up sweating more than betting… A shame that such an outdated rule slightly spoils the experience in such a prestigious venue!

The Merkur Funicular Railway is a popular attraction near Baden-Baden, Germany. It is the longest funicular railway in the country and takes visitors to the summit of Merkur Mountain, which stands at 668 meters high. At the top, there are hiking paths, a restaurant with local dishes, paragliding opportunities, and a 23-meter elevator that provides stunning views from Merkur Tower. A wonderful funicular at the edge of town. Well worth finding. €14 for a return trip for two adults was very good value compared to other funicular railways we have been on.

A nice funicular (railway cable-car) leading to a lovely mountain top with amazing view and nice spots for a picnic. Theres ride takes a few minutes. The tower at the top offers stairs or an elevator (however even with an elevator there are a few steps to climb). There’s also a restaurant there.

Definitely a must visit. Very cool down there so bring a jacket and be prepared to walk a lot since its very big. The museum is without a guide, you have to follow the arrows 1 to 10 and it takes about 2 hours but its definitely worth it to see everything and take your time.

Fort Schoenenbourg is the largest and best-preserved part of the Maginot Line in Alsace. You can walk through several kilometers of underground tunnels, artillery blocks, and soldier living quarters, all still in excellent condition. The fort actually saw combat during WWII, and the traces of bombardments remain visible, giving the visit a very authentic feel. With guided tours, exhibitions, and restored equipment, it offers a unique chance to understand both the engineering and the daily life inside these fortifications. A must-see destination for history lovers and curious travelers alike
Óliver J — Google review
A truly massive underground fortress, be prepared for a VERY long walk, you will be walking 1 kilometre to the last gun emplacement. Fantastic achievement by the French. So much to see and all perfectly preserved, even more tunnels not yet prepared for visiting. Easily a half day to see it all, go by guided tours or, as I did, explore it all yourself. Lots of parking.
Ewan B — Google review
For the history and time it represents it tells the story. There is some long walking but information at almost every turn. It is far from an empty shell with displays, explanations and speaking’s with realistic sounds. The feel is that the fort is ready for action at a moments notice…very well done!!
ARBBFamily — Google review
Great experience of life fighting underground in the second world War and an insight into its astonishing construction. Able to see the dormitories the kitchens and the infirmary. My husband loved the visit to the gun turret that went up and down. We liked it especially as it is self guided and all the other forts are tour only .
Debbie S — Google review
If you are interested in military history you must visit. Self guided and the fort is huge. Give yourself more than two hours and there is a lot of walking. Fascinating structure and so well designed. Just brilliant, also wear something warm and good tread on your shoes / boots.
Marki A — Google review
The Schoenenbourg Fortress, one of many sections of the Maginot Line, impresses everyone! Its size, grandeur, engineering, and organization. I use the term "fortress" wisely, as it is a huge, fortified defensive structure capable of functioning independently. We are not experts or military enthusiasts, and our visit to Schoenenbourg was intended to confirm and expand our knowledge of the Maginot Line. We fully answered these questions thanks to the fact that we were able to move freely around the fortress at our own pace. The tour trails are well-described, clearly marked to which bastion they lead. Along the way, there are numerous information boards, descriptions, historical posters, rooms, and equipment necessary for life and defense. Life-support equipment, military equipment, and transportation were important elements of the fortress. The infrastructure is incredibly impressive. I cannot help but express my respect and admiration for the people who conceived, designed, built, and served there. It's not important to us whether the building fulfilled its purpose, what matters is that it's a brilliant design. Seeing the rooms where soldiers served, the rooms where they rested and slept, and the everyday equipment, we realized how difficult service was in these conditions. After a four-hour walk, the lack of sunlight and blue sky was already taking its toll, sparking our imaginations of how difficult such service was. And if we add to this the sounds echoing across the concrete, bullets striking concrete, explosions, gunfire, ricochets, the smell of gunpowder and poison gases... it becomes an unimaginable nightmare.

Interesting historical WW2 moment, visited the outside first and then the inside. Then we had an idea about what it was. Remember a jacket as there is around 13 degrees celcius inside permanently.

Impressive piece of history with a very competent tour guide. We spent approximately 2 hours on the tour, seeing a great deal of the bunker and learning a lot about the history of the Maginot Line overall, but also a great deal about this specific facility, of course. If you want a tour in English, you must contact the bunker in advance, as they currently don’t offer tours daily in English. We participated in the tour offered in German, and it was absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in history.

One of my favorite visits ever! I was the only one for the tour on a Friday at 16h but the guide still gave an in depth tour and was so knowledgeable and pationate about the history. The bunker itself is an astonishing piece of history and wonderfully kept. The moving mechanism of one of the guns is still functional and a demonstration is given! Really a mist when visiting the region.

Great trip! And the he mechanics of the canon still work. Funny how the turtle like 80T turret could be handled by a single man. Only German or French guides are available at the weekend. Question: what was the abandoned buildings next to this bunker, on the other side of the river, were build for?

Awesome Maginot Line fortification. 8 Euro for adults, 5 for kids over 5. After the first point of interest you head down into the old tunnels. A bit spooky, but really great to see. You can walk underground for over 1 KM to see an old turret. Other interesting points like the kitchens and command center along the way.

Fantastic bunker, 25m under the groung, super modern technology used even in 100 years ago, it took us to see every part 2hours 15 mins. Our guide was also amazing, explainedus all the details. So much impressed.

It is definitely worth a visit. The entire fortification and the engineering behind ist are truly impressive. You get a picture on how the soldiers in the fort lived, how the chain of command worked and how the entire line of defense was organized. About the end you get to see first hand how a combat tower gets lifted, rotates and how it gets charged with munition. The entire tour takes around 2 hours and it's guided, so keep in mind that the entrance takes place only at specific hours. One more thing: the temperature inside is only 13 Celsius, so wearing a jacket is strongly recommended

Extremely interesting historically, they only do French and German speaking tours. There are some signs and you understand most of it. The turret still go up and down and around. The total complex is huge.
