Stately, 19th-century former county courthouse & museum featuring local history exhibits & tours.
A charming old historic jail built in the distinct Norman castellated style. The first floor has lots of information, artifacts, and history…the 2nd - 4th floors house the old cells - lots of peeling paint and rust for sure..but a great self-guided tour that allows you pretty much free access to every cell..every room…every nook and cranny. Reallly worth the 5.00 to wander around.

Hidden gem! Very interesting!

This should be called Historic Jail of Caldwell County. Although it is a museum, there are many artifacts just hanging around and jail in upper floors is mostly intact like the way it was when someone was last there. Very creepy but fun to see. This jail should be used today for those that are not scared of going to jail. The caretaker said that he here’s knocks here and there. Boo!!
Geo S — Google review
Not wheelchair or stroller accessible at all but my kids and family loved it, so worth it!

Very neat place to stop. Alot of items to look at. The only thing that was weird. Was that was told that they operate on donations only but was not allowed to enter until we paid a set price for a donation. I was not allowed to receive a receipt for my donation either and they only received cash.
Harvey D — Google review
Walking back in time, we loved all the old items to remind us history is always present in our lives.
Rho H — Google review
Closed weekdays so I didn't get to see it, but the building looks lovely and I deemed it worthy of a stop while I was in town on business. No reason to demote it, so it gets five stars to keep its rating.

This is an interesting old building, although hardly set up for tours, worth visiting.

Lone Star Gun Range

Fun & Games
Shooting range
As a foreigner visiting a gun range for the first time I had an wonderfull experience here. I specifically chose this gun range because it was outdoors and other reviewers led me to believe it was a gun range with supervision, but with some leeway to figure things out by yourself within the confines of the safety regulations. I learned a lot during the two days I was there while my brother in law and me worked ourselves up through the calibers with zero prior experience. We started out with a .22 pistol and ended up shooting the .50 Barrett at the end of our two day journey. (I would really recommend other foreigners to do the same for the shooting experience. It was awesome.) A special thanks goes out to Firearms Instructor Mike for showing us the ropes of firearm handling and for waiting with us until our ride home arrived, long after the range closed. He is a very friendly and knowledgeable man and this shows character and care. The cell phone reception is pretty bad at the range, so keep that in mind. This is not a gun range (in my inexperienced opinion) for people that are in need of close supervision watching your every move. Being able to figure things out on your own also means there are other people in your vicinity who could be doing that at the same time. In addition to the supervision of the instructors the other shooters in the range where friendly but firm in keeping everything safe for everyone. Next time I am in Texas I will visit again.

My bf & I came here to shoot some guns & we had a great time! The range is outdoors & they catered to all experience levels! I was personally nervous & Luke took great care in walking us through the machines & making sure we were comfortable. It was a very chill place with a lot of options & a lot of cute puppies!

In June '25 I traveled from The Netherlands to Texas for my first shooting experience, I absolutely loved my first time at Lone Star Gun Range! There are multiple outside gun lanes available. The staff is very professional, friendly and welcoming. Everything is explained very clearly to me as a first timer, which left me feeling very safe and secure here. Whenever I had a question I could just drop by and the staff was available to help me out right away. The shooting experience was great! I tried out shooting a Glock and an AR-15. Overall super positive experience. Best wishes from The Netherlands, and look forward to a future visit!
Leon — Google review
We had the best experience of our Texas vacation today! At the Lone Star Gun Range, after a thorough safety briefing, we were able to shoot with selected weapons. We chose a Glock 19, an AR15, and an AK-47. Under Luke's expert guidance, we had a lot of fun at the shooting range. It was a fantastic experience! Many thanks to Luke! We highly recommend the Lone Star Gun Range!
Sandra K — Google review
Super friendly and welcoming staff. Good range of rentals available. We are from Germany, so non US citizens, which wasn’t an issue at all. The team explained every pistol and rifle we used before we took them out to the range.
Hendrik W — Google review
I been to many ranges, but Lone Star offers freedom. They have many different Bays at the range. The people running the show are great. You can come and go with no problems. I have met many of kind shooters here. Also you are down the street from the BBQ capital of TX
Mario W — Google review
Fun experience at a great price! The range instructors are super approachable and always willing to share helpful tips to sharpen your skills. Definitely makes the time there more enjoyable.

Great staff that walk you through everything and make sure you are well educated before going to the firing range. Vast selection of pistols and rifles to choose from if hiring.

Bastrop State Park

Nature & Parks
Park
Bastrop State Park, located in a county of the same name, spans 7,400 acres and offers a wide range of outdoor activities such as biking, swimming, hiking, birding, fishing and geocaching. The park features 78 single-family campsites for tent camping as well as historic cabins from the 1930s available for rent. Visitors can enjoy fishing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding at the Colorado River.
Bastrop State Park, located about 30 miles east of Austin, is a beautiful and peaceful retreat in the unique Lost Pines ecosystem. The park is spacious and scenic, with over 6,600 acres of pine forest, trails, and wildlife. We stayed at Site 77 and had a great time — the site was clean, quiet, and conveniently located. The seasonal swimming pool was a great way to cool off, just note that it requires a separate reservation. Overall, a great spot for camping, hiking, and relaxing in nature!
ArcesAdventures — Google review
Did a lost pines loop on weekend. The north part of the trail goes deep into the forest. The South part is more on the open. A few CCC buildings on the route, a few people on the route. Very peaceful.
Aleksey T — Google review
Well run state park leas than 2 hours from Houston. Multiple campsites. Facility was excellent with climate controlled bathrooms and wash area. Some campsites are near to highway and you can hear traffic. Not too many trails. There is a YMCA pool inside the park but was closed when visiting in May. Campground caters for large groups and scouts.
Pog E — Google review
So many trails to choose from! We only had time to hike one trail but I wish we would've been able to stay the day. My son loved seeing all of the lizards. They were everywhere! We will definitely be coming back to see more of the park
Kelsie P — Google review
The pine trees there are amazing and the historical cabins are pretty cool! I definitely recommend going down the scenic view from Bastrop State Park to buescher State Park!

Really nice place to tent camp or RV at. We stayed in tents in the Deer Run area, although we never saw any deer, lol. Restroom facilities were cleaned every morning, big and spacious. The playground was next to the tent sites. They also have a pool in the park. This park has a lot of trails if you like hiking. During our hike, their were structures built from back in the day by the CCC Boys. A lot of them are still standing and in pretty good shape. Overall, this park is a great place to camp out at.
Steve B — Google review
This is a beautiful park with lots of great amenities, BUT a couple of things are helpful to know in advance. Be sure to check the alerts on the park’s website before your trip—I missed the temporary burn ban and wasn’t able to use a grill or campfire, which cut my stay short since I had brought meals that needed cooking. I’m totally to blame for overlooking it. If you’re tent camping, the "Deer Run" sites are close to Hwy 71, so you may notice traffic noise at night and the occasional headlight through the trees. Light sleepers might want to pack earplugs or look at other camping loops for a quieter experience. One feature I really loved was the dish-washing station—it’s such a convenient touch that made cleanup easy. Overall, the park is lovely, and with a little preparation, it’s a great place to enjoy the outdoors.
Keely L — Google review
We truly enjoyed the peace and quiet at Bastrop State Park. The trails were really nice for walking and taking in the natural beauty. One of the Rangers, Willie, was especially helpful—he took time to teach us about how the park manages tree clearing and prescribed burns. Very friendly and informative! Thanks for a great experience, Bastrop State Park! – Jason & Tracy

Love their pecans with different flavors. I love honey glazed and am trying a sweet and fire variety this time. They are located on the right side of the road when you drive from Houston to Austin. Remember to look on your right after the McKinney Roughs park. There is a large squirrel statue and a "Pecans" sign to take right. They have pecans, pecan pies, fresh peaches, tomatoes and a large variety of pickles.
Manikandan N — Google review
November 2024 It's always nice seeing Ms Pearl and her selections of pecans and other items. This is a great place to stop and shop for gifting. You will find lots of pecans here from in shell to shelled. The pecan pie is a hit here and so popular they have a pie vending machine outside. The owners are very nice and the staff very friendly. If wondering they do have restrooms to give another excuse to stop here.
Paul D — Google review
If you love pecans this is the spot. And their caramel pecan gold is the best chewy praline ever! It only comes in one size so have someone to share it with.
Quincy U — Google review
We were driving into Austin and saw this store off highway 71; with the big squirrel statue holding a piece of pecan, we had to stop to check it out. The moment you walk in, you’re hit with a wonderful aroma of all things fresh and sweet. Obviously pecans are the star of the show, but they have other items- T-shirts, souvenirs etc. The lady behind the counter spent some time talking to us about their pecan pie varieties- for example, they have a diabetic friendly pie that they make with Splenda. They had a whole section with more diabetic friendly treats. We are pecan pie lovers, so we picked one up to try. The pricing was pretty steep ($30) as were most of the pecan items. The large squirrel statue outside is super cute and we took some pics with it. Definitely worth checking out if you’re driving by!

What a fun store! I am so glad I decided to stop. They have just about everything pecan. I love their pecan pie. They also have a lot of other fun items. I must have spent 30 minutes in the store just browsing around and looking at all the cool fun things they sell.

This place is remarkable. They have nearly everything you can think of, and it all tastes wonderful. We were a bit undecided and we’re offered to sample so many different products. We felts the essence of southern hospitality during our visit. My biggest gripe is that the prices are pretty steep.

Hiking Trails
The Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail is a 10-mile multi-use path that runs along both sides of Lady Bird Lake in downtown Austin. It's a popular destination for hikers, bikers, and runners, offering scenic views of the Austin skyline and opportunities to relax in nearby parks like Auditorium Shores and Fiesta Garden. The trail also features a peaceful boardwalk on the south side of the lake, providing a serene escape from the city bustle.
One of Austin’s best places to walk and enjoy Town Lake. 12 miles of well kept trail. Bike or walk. Bikes can be a hazard sometimes when going too fast. Lots of places to sit and enjoy the natural beauty of the trail and lake and tons of wildlife.
Robert F — Google review
The trail/path is great. Easy, wide and well maintained. We rode our fat tire bikes and connected from the north end of Shoal creek trail. Overall it’s a great ride, walk or run, although it is super crowded especially on the weekends. The massive crowds are probably the only downside as you have to really pay attention and don’t have as much time to enjoy the scenery. You just need to be patient, and take your time. We made a stop at Ziker botanical gardens which was decent and they have a place to park your bike. We also stopped for lunch at Tumble 22 on the way back. There are plenty of spots to explore, pull off and enjoy the views or get food.

This trail was very well-kept and scenic along lady bird lake in downtown Austin! Great for all activities

Ann and Roy Butler park is lie in the Colorado river side. It’s good to run, walk and spend time with family in the park.
Netra N — Google review
Wonderful walking trail by the Colorado river, a portion of it is a boardwalk over the river by the south bank. Great view of downtown. We only walked 3.5 miles of the long trail but will be back to explore more of it once we find free/city parking close to the trail. We parked in a very expensive parking lot by the Congress St bridge (bat bridge) - $25 for an hour!
Malavika K — Google review
It's so beautiful and Majestic this time of year with the changing of the trees.

Great trail for walking and biking along and along the Colorado River with great views of Austin. You can rent a boat and ride along the river or just sit and admire the turtles, which are abundant on the river. Highly recommend this beautiful trail. Thank you for such an equipped and created trail!🤝👏❤️

Barton Springs Pool

Public swimming pool
Nature & Parks
Barton Springs Municipal Pool is a renowned natural spring area and a popular hangout spot in Austin. It is located within Zilker Metropolitan Park, which also houses other attractions like the Zilker Botanical Gardens and the UMLAUF Sculpture Garden & Museum. The pool, with its 68-degree waters, attracts locals and tourists alike for swimming and sunbathing.
🏊🏻‍♂️🧘‍♂️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A natural oasis in the heart of Austin! Barton Springs Municipal Pool is hands down one of the best spots to cool off during those hot Texas summers. Fed by natural spring water, the pool stays a refreshing 68–70°F year-round, which feels amazing when escaping Austin’s heat. Whether you’re swimming laps or lounging under the trees, it’s always relaxing and peaceful. Surrounded by lush greenery and located right next to the Barton Creek Greenbelt, this place is perfect for a full day outdoors. The natural setting gives it a serene, almost hidden gem vibe. It’s both family-friendly and ideal for solo swimmers looking for calm. Do note that the entrance can be a bit confusing for first-timers due to construction and limited signage. But once inside, you’re rewarded with a unique experience that strikes a beautiful balance between nature and community recreation. The spring is cold (brace yourself!), and since it’s a natural bottom, some areas get deep quickly—so keep an eye on kids or weaker swimmers. Admission is affordable ($9), and it opens early at 5 AM. Located at 2131 William Barton Dr, Austin, TX 78746, it’s easily accessible and well worth the visit. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Austin. Don’t forget to explore the upstream greenbelt trails for more hidden natural pools!
Ramin H — Google review
I was born and raised in Austin, and this place never gets old, in fact it just gets more beautiful. I worked here about 4 summers as a lifeguard around 2009, and I can tell you from behind the scenes, safety is of utmost importance, guards are trained often and rigorously tested physically and mentally, and scenarios with emergency response crews from the area (EMS, Police, etc) are done on occasion. Barton Springs in particular runs a tight ship- you have to with thousands of visitors daily during the summer. Over the years they have not only improved on the grounds, but continue to keep it's original Austin appeal, even when renovations occur. The water is a consistent chilly 68°-70° (some of the spring water comes up at the bottom of the drop off by the diving board where it's coldest), lots of work is done on Thursdays by guards and frequently by biologists to maintain the natural state and save the salamanders (more so in Eliza Springs attached) but also keep it safe for patrons. No food or drink is allowed as they cannot spray for bugs so as not to contaminate the water and grounds. There are two entrances (Southside and the main entrance through Zilker Park) and it does cost money in the summers but it is currently free until March (we're in November now). They also use to offer free swim from like 5-9am and 9-10pm but not sure if that's still a thing. Parking can be difficult but that's to show how popular it is being an oasis in the heart of Austin. You will see ALL different types of people in all different types of dress (including topless & thongs) but everyone is at the Springs to chill and have a good time (I've also heard the water is a great hangover cure). There are living animals in and around the "pool" such as turtles, ducks, cormorants, fish, salamanders, and at one point there was some sort of eel at the spillway end. There is also plenty of algae and plant growth but everything is harmless and visible in the clear refreshing water. The pool starts at zero depth and continues to on to maybe 6-7ft aside from the dicing area which I believe is 12-13+ feet (it's been awhile and I can't remember exactly anymore). You can see downtown Austin from the pool and sunsets are beautiful. It is wheelchair and stroller friendly, you just have to follow the ramp down to the deck. The bathrooms are large and clean (and cleaned regularly by the guards) with lots of changing areas and bathrooms. Barton Springs has a rich history that it strives to upkeep, especially by the S.O.S - Save Our Springs Alliance. I suggest you wear your swimsuit, pack a blanket, a towel, and some water bottles (no coolers allowed), and head on over with your friends to chill on the hill and watch some crazy people doing crazy tricks off the diving board; you won't be disappointed!
Ciara L — Google review
Such a great place! The pool was clean, nice cold and refreshing, super deep and filled with rocks and plants and tiny fishes, loved the nature and the entire experience! Really felt like a mermaid today!! Loved it! Definitely will be coming here again before summer ends! 🧜🏻‍♀️🙌🏻✨🪸💦
Laura — Google review
I will always take a plunge in Barton Springs pool when in the area. Cold but refreshing. South-side parking was challenging (-1 one star). Entrance fee is reasonable and easy peasy online ticket purchasing available. Nice crowd size in the pool.
MTT C — Google review
OMG this was our favorite stop in Austin. One side is a pay-to-enter swimming hole and there is another hidden free-to-enter entrance that serves as a much smaller swimming hole for the doggies. We had such a great time interacting with the locals and playing with the cute, energetic dogs we didn’t want to leave. Note that the doggie entrance is hidden amongst the trees and down a very steep hill (which is a bit tricky to get up and down). If you are a lover of animals the doggie side is a MUST. We didn’t pay to enter the other side but it is huge and looks soooo cool. If we had our swimming suits we def would’ve gone! What amazed me about the doggie side (and really Austin in general) is how welcome the locals made us. What was also cool is how everyone looked after everyone else’s dogs, taking turns throwing balls for them in the water. You don’t even need to take your own dog here to take part in the action and appreciate this place! ❤️
Ell T — Google review
Barton Springs Municipal Pool – A Classic Austin Experience Barton Springs is an absolute gem. We had no trouble grabbing tickets at the window with good old-fashioned cash (just a heads-up: cash only!). While we didn’t use the ticket kiosks, we saw plenty of people struggling with them—lots of confused faces and short lines of frustrated folks. Do yourself a favor and just head to the window. There’s a fair bit of construction going on right now, but it was super easy to navigate. Clear signs make the path to the pool straightforward. Once you’re in? Pure bliss. The water is cool, crisp, and refreshing—the perfect way to escape the Texas heat. It’s a true spring, so don’t expect bathwater temps, but once you’re in, it feels incredible. There’s a little something for everyone here—swimmers, floaters, jumpers, sunbathers, families, solo chillers. It’s also top-tier people watching. An authentic Austin spot that never disappoints.
Stephen B — Google review
This place was magnificent. It really was one of the highlights to my Austin adventure. It was comfortable and felt very safe. I will say the patrons were not as friendly as i would have expected but that is not the pools fault. The salamanders were soooo cute. I love it.
Weiner P — Google review
We went in October 2025 and the parking lot is at 1000 Azie Morton rd. We got there around 1230 pm On a monday and saw like 4 open spaces. No parking fee. 2 min walk to pool entry pay $9 cash or credit at machines. The pool area is huge. 6 lifeguards. No concessions inside. There is a changing trailer and bathrooms. Its pretty with trees and grass, cold water, squirrels all around, fluffy clouds, sunshine, overall real good vibe.

The Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge Observation Deck in Austin offers a unique family outing to witness an extraordinary natural phenomenon. The bridge is home to over 1.5 million bats, creating the largest urban bat colony in the world. From July to August, visitors can watch as the bats emerge at dusk to feed on millions of air-born insects, creating a spectacular sight as they take flight into the evening sky.
This was probably the coolest thing I’ve ever seen! home to the largest urban bat colony in the world. I got there just in time for the show! It was 5:45pm and it was perfect. Stand on the bridge facing the south for a better view

Considering the current south shore plant/tree overgrowth (April 2024) I think THIS is the best place to stand when waiting for the bats to come out from under the bridge. Yes the bats begin to emerge on the south side first, but you don't need to see the *first* bats to see an impressive display. As it turns out, we didn't see a large group of bats this evening (it rained and was generally too cool), but we did see (and hear) some bats, and the trip to the bridge was worthwhile. We waited from 30 minutes before until about 50 minutes after sunset, then left. Austin has a lovely skyline! We walked here from our hotel near the convention center, along the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail. It was a very pleasant walk with lots of tree cover.

If you’ve got bad eyes like me the best spot to see the bats is right above where the kayakers gather on the right side of the bridge. When the tour guides shine their red spotlights you can clearly see the bats taking off even after sunset.

Nice meeting spot, and iconic location of the largest Mexican free tail bat colony in North America. See them fly at dusk at the southeast end of the bridge, below looking up when nightly guides of kayak and boat tours shine their red lights to see the flying bats. Check out "Austin bat refuge" online for nightly bat forecast.

The bat watching was crazy cool! Am jealous of those in Austin who get to watch. Nice bridge to watch the sunset.

The Ann Richard bridge, also known as the bat bridge in Austin Texas, is a great place to people and bar watch. When you walk under during the day you can hear them chirping, and then they take off in the evening. Cool painting by the observation deck.
Adam R — Google review
One of the peculiar things to do while in Austin is waiting for sunset to see the famous bats come out in large groups as they make their nightly rounds. Unfortunately I wasn’t lucky enough to witness the large group but every night you at least see a few small groups underneath the bridge. Regardless though the walk along the river makes it worth it day or night. It is pretty hard to miss usually there will be a large group of people along the bridge waiting which gives you the feeling that you are in the right place. Even though I wasn’t as lucky I hope your trip to Austin gets you a glimpse of the bats.

Fun little place to see the Congress Bridge from below. You can definitely tell bats live there by the interesting smell as you approach.

Sights & Landmarks
The Driskill - The Unbound Collection by Hyatt is a luxurious hotel that has been an iconic landmark in Austin since 1886. Originally built by cattle baron Jesse Driskill, the hotel has a rich history and has hosted Texas elite and important political events over the years. The opulent property offers high-end accommodations with old-school Texas elegance, featuring vintage crown molding, desert gold and tan linens, and pearly white accents.
Guest services can get busy with multiple inbound calls. but they will answer when they get to your call every time. The rooms are spotless. The staff works hard and give 110%. Valet parking services were on time and do a great job. Don't be stingy with your tips. Not saying you need to go overboard. Just saying they are working hard to keep up with the guests request. The building is under restoration till October. But rooms and restaurant services are still on par. Breakfast has amazing croissants. I slept comfortably in their bed. The comforters are cool to lay on and just warm enough to sleep in under in a cool room. The curtains block out the light. Leaving the door open to the bathroom left the perfect amount of morning light in through the large frosted glass window over the tub. Very classy and comfortable.

The Driskill was such an amazing stay! I did not realize its historic ambiance but it was truly breathtaking. I enjoyed how close to downtown and all its attractions. It was either within walking distance or a short drive. We brought our 2 dogs and were delivered a dog bed for our pouches that arrived within 20 minutes of checking in. The valet parking was very convenient and was very speedy with getting our vehicle. I would definitely stay here again and actually planning another trip to the Driskill! Guiliana was at the front desk during most of our stay and she was always so helpful and kind!

The lobby smells like cheap air freshener. The floors on the upper floors are made of linoleum faux wood. The light fixtures on the upper floors are cheap and unattractive. Even though it is a 4 star hotel, the room has no vanity kit or robe. If you want a q-tip, shower cap or robe you must call guest services to have this brought to your room. The windows are small and dingy and the room is not pretty. The hotel overall feels dingy and cheesy. It took over a half an hour for room service to bring coffee to my room. There were no water bottles in my room on the first day. My interactions with the staff were all lovely but the hotel itself is not even near 4 star and cost a lot of money (close to $400 a night) for a “Holiday Inn” experience. I could have stayed at a significantly less expensive hotels that was new and fresh and in just as good a location. I don’t plan to return to this hotel.

My girlfriend and I stayed at The Driskill in Austin this past weekend, and once again, it was a wonderful experience. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the linens were first-class, and even the towels in the bathroom were top-notch. The room was quiet and peaceful — exactly what we needed for a relaxing stay. This wasn’t my first time staying at The Driskill, and I’m happy to say they’ve definitely not lost their touch over the years. The service and attention to detail remain just as impressive as I remember. The only small downside was that the bar was under remodeling during our visit, but that’s hardly a complaint — improvements are always a good thing, and I’m looking forward to seeing the finished result next time. Overall, another excellent stay. We’ll absolutely be returning in the future.

LIED TO BY MANAGER EMILY! 6.5 months ago, reserved 3 nights in one of two Lonestar Suites. Called a few times in the interim to request one particular Lonestar Suite - they noted it on our reservation. On September 26, one week prior to our visit, we received an email welcoming us to the Driskill, and confirming our Lonestar Suite reservation for 3 nights. Fast forward to Oct 3, 2025 after our flight from SEA to AUS when we checked in. Emily (who said she was a manager) told us we’d been “upgraded” to the Landmark Suite, which according to her, had an even BIGGER deck than our months prior reserved Lonestar Suite. Hubby was immediately skeptical, as he’d become extremely familiar with the room levels, and the Lonestar Suite was very important to him. We only wanted what we reserved and placed a deposit on - nothing more. Since the room was not ready, we waited in the lobby. Sitting there, we quickly went to Driskill’s website to verify room levels, and sure enough, the Landmark Suite is a DOWNGRADE. Hubby walked up to the check in desk to speak to Emily. After much back and forth, Emily FINALLY admitted we’d been downgraded because they gave our room to someone else. We decided to look at the Landmark room, in case it was near to what Emily claimed - but alas, it was tiny, with a tiny deck (we could see the massive deck of the Lonestar Suite when we peeked around the corner). It was NOT anywhere close to a suite, had an odd layout, no mini bar, and the toilet was in a glass shower enclosure - odd. We called downstairs from the tiny room, and were offered a discount. BUT, angry at having been LIED to, we quickly hopped online and were lucky enough to find the Presidential Suite at the Omni just a block away. We ended up having a wonderful anniversary weekend, despite how it started off with Emily’s lies. The Omni Presidential Suite included a hospitality lounge with hot food and drinks every evening, and an amazing hot breakfast every morning - the Driskill included none of that. The downgraded Landmark Suite MAY have been acceptable, and I would not be this upset, had Emily admitted immediately that they’d made a mistake. INSTEAD, she started off with a lie about an upgrade, likely hoping a couple of country bumpkins from Seattle wouldn’t notice. Sorry Emily, we’re a little smarter than you hoped, and now very angry. I’d say to verify your reservation should you choose to stay at the Driskill, but aparrently that does no good. DO NOT take comfort in your confirmation email you’ll receive one week prior - that also means nothing. My best advice - make your reservation and hope they don’t put you in the janitor’s closet. You’ll have no control or say so as to which room you THINK you’re getting - just throw caution to the wind and hope for the best.

The entire building is beautiful and keeps the traditional concept. Everyone (but the doorman and bar staff) at the Victorian was so kind and professional. Doorman has no people skills. If the guest has questions at the bar/restaurant, they need to be answered. The bar staff need more customer service training. 40 dollars for 2 small drinks require undivided attention from the bar staff.
Britney R — Google review
We enjoyed our stay, but the near $200 in taxes and $65 valet fee is a bit much. I was told the heritage balcony suite was $619 and valet parking (bc there is no parking except for on the street that we saw) would be $40 when I reserved the room. There was no mention of the excessive taxes and fees that would be tacked on so that it came out to $847. I also should have asked about where the room was located, because really...since it overlooked the back ally and a portion of 6th street, and wasnt the front facing balcony overlooking brazos and 6th, we barely even went out on it. It was halloween and we had hoped to be able to people watch so that was a disappointment, an expensive one at that. Also, it is very loud, which didnt bother us, but if you are looking for a quiet place to rest up, this is not it.
Renee — Google review
It's a historic hotel, so it has a charming interior, nice finishings in the rooms, high ceilings, etc. But if you're not too fussed about that kind of stuff, I'd suggest staying elsewhere. The hotel was very noisy. In all their wisdom, they choose to buff the floors between midnight and 2am. I also did not find the staff to be particularly courteous. It feels like the staff and management team you'd expect from a Holiday Inn were transplanted into this historic hotel.

The Texas Capitol, a stunning 1888 granite and marble structure, boasts a remarkable rotunda and dome along with House and Senate chambers. Adjacent to this historic site is the Bullock Texas State History Museum, named after Lieutenant Governor Bob Bullock. The museum offers interactive exhibits across three main themes: the founding of Texas, the state's history and name origins, and opportunities within the state.
We were not aware they had free tours! We made it on time for one and it made the experience way better. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. We loved walking around and exploring the installations. They had a small presentation of Ukrainians singing during our visit

I had a good time visiting the Texas State Capitol in Austin. The architecture is stunning, and the building is full of history. I enjoyed walking through the rotunda, seeing the portraits of past governors, and learning more about Texas’ unique political history. The provide a free tour with a guide of what seemed like every 15 minutes. The grounds were beautifully maintained, and the views of downtown Austin added to the experience. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!!!

Beautiful architecture especially inside the dome. You're not really allowed to go anywhere else other than the centre inside. Airport type security at the entrance with metal detectors. There are toilets inside, clean. Beautiful gardens and monuments outside.

The Texas Capitol is a must-see in Austin. It’s impressive from the outside, but definitely worth stepping inside too. The building is beautiful, full of history, and free to visit. Everything is well maintained, and the atmosphere is calm and welcoming. A great place to walk around, learn something new, and take some great photos. A solid stop if you’re exploring the city.

The Texas State Capitol in Austin is an absolute must-visit and one of the finest state capitols in the United States. Nestled in the heart of downtown, this historic landmark stands tall with its impressive architecture, rich history, and beautifully maintained grounds. From the moment you approach the building, you’re struck by its grandeur. The pink granite exterior gives it a unique character, and the rotunda is truly breathtaking once inside. The interior features intricate details, historic paintings, and sculptures that reflect the pride and legacy of Texas. The dome itself is higher than the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., which is quite impressive. The Capitol is open to the public and offers free guided tours throughout the day. These tours are very informative, covering everything from Texas history to the legislative process. The guides are knowledgeable and passionate, making the experience both educational and enjoyable. You can also choose to do a self-guided tour if you prefer to explore at your own pace. The Capitol grounds are expansive and beautifully landscaped, making it a great spot to walk around, relax, or take pictures. Statues and memorials throughout the grounds add to the experience, each telling a different part of Texas history. Whether you’re a history buff, architecture enthusiast, or just a curious visitor, the Texas State Capitol offers something for everyone. It’s a place where you can truly feel the pride Texans have for their state. And best of all — it’s free to visit! Highly recommend setting aside a few hours for this remarkable site. It’s a shining example of Texas history and government, and a highlight of any trip to Austin.

Today was a awesome day at the Texas State capitol, I initially went just to make a contribution to google maps cause a few of my friends asked if I could but then without any kind of notice a group of young mariachis, an Aztec dance group in full regalia out of Houston and a Mexican vaquera soldadera who too was from Houston,I apologize for not asking your name but I hope your picture alone gives you justice, you made a outstanding performance and I personally applaud you,,as for the eagle and Jaguar knights special shout out to conrado Acevedo and kind heart and the rest of the Houston Aztec dance group,, and last but not least id also like to give a shout out to the local mariachi group from Akins high school, there was plenty of singing and dancing and all kinds of Instruments keeping sync from each performing group at times your occasional grito can be heard, there are restrooms and water fountains and it is wheelchair accessible, the grounds are very well kept, with monuments and dedication plaques at different points of the capitol grounds and you already know there is always a large police presence, tours are free and there is one in English and also one in Spanish of course at different times and they start out of the southern foyer, there are plenty of benches in and outside the capitol bldg, so one can take a break and breathe in all the history and stare in awe as you look around and see how beautiful and spacious the inside of the capitol is,,it never got to crowded and please be respectful and take your hat off within the bldg, outside it's cool all day every day,if you have never done one thing outside the norm and your from Texas, please before you get any older take a trip and visit your state capitol,I strongly recommend you take your kids and/or grandkids,,I promise you will never forget the experience... enjoy

The Bullock Texas State History Museum, established in 2001, is dedicated to interpreting the ongoing narrative of Texas through engaging exhibits, IMAX films, and educational programs. The museum showcases a diverse collection of Texas artifacts from around the world and continuously introduces new displays. By exploring the state's history, visitors can gain a deeper understanding of personal and collective identity while acquiring essential skills.
Bullock Texas State history museum is a great place to visit for kids to learn about Texas and America history. The general admission is $15/adult. The museum makes a great summary of how Texas is becoming. I went through the museum for about an hour or so. It gave a flash back of the great prices Texas pays for today's prosperity. It also reveals the pride of being a texan. It is a great place to educate the youth to value their life and in some way encourage them to do better in the future. In short, I strongly recommend it for family visits, especially those with kids.

The Bullock Texas State History Museum is a great place to dive into the rich and complex history of Texas. The exhibits are well-curated, interactive, and engaging for all ages. The IMAX theater is a fun bonus, and the layout of the museum makes it easy to explore at your own pace. My only complaint is that the ticket prices feel a bit steep, especially for families or repeat visits. That said, the overall experience is definitely worth it if you're interested in Texas history. Would recommend, just be prepared for the cost!

Bullock Texas State History Museum ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The shipwreck exhibit is absolutely fascinating — beautifully presented with meticulous artifacts displayed around the vessel. It’s incredibly informative and unique, and I loved being able to view the shipwreck from above as I moved through the upper floors. One of the highlights is seeing the original Goddess of Liberty statue from the Texas Capitol dome. Standing before her gives you a whole new appreciation for the artistry and scale — it’s amazing to consider how she was designed to be seen from 300 feet away! The museum is a perfect size to explore in about 1.5–2 hours, and when I visited, there was a bonus exhibit on loan featuring a T. rex from New York — a fun surprise that added to the experience.

I had the absolute pleasure of visiting the Bullock Texas State History Museum for the first time—and wow, what an experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by two incredibly kind and welcoming gentlemen, Don and Joseph. They took the time to explain what was inside the museum, answered all my questions, and made me feel right at home even before I bought my ticket. Once inside, I was completely captivated. The museum takes you on a powerful journey through the rich and complex history of Texas—starting with Indigenous cultures and Mexican independence from Spain, all the way to the modern era. Every exhibit was thoughtfully curated and packed with fascinating artifacts. I left feeling inspired, informed, and eager to return. If you haven’t been yet, it’s a must-see—truly a Texas treasure!

I always have a lovely time here. Fantastic and informative exhibits, lovely staff, and typically quiet if you go early on a week day. The LBJ Presidential Library, located on a 30-acre site at The University of Texas in Austin, is dedicated to President Lyndon Baines Johnson. It houses an extensive collection of historical documents, photos, and recordings from his political career. Designed by architect Gordon Bunshaft, the iconic ten-story building features a Great Hall with a stunning four-story glass-encased view of the archives collection. The museum contains over fifty-four thousand objects donated by President and Mrs.
We had such a wonderful experience visiting the LBJ Presidential Library! Lots of exhibits of LBJ's presidency - we especially loved the smaller-scale oval office! The library is beautiful & the staff is very informative! They offer various discounts & I didn't fit into any of the criteria - my ticket was $16 and I definitely believe it was worth it. It took us about 1.5 - 2 hours to go through. 10/10

Cannot say enough positive things about this museum/library and its staff. We came in from a family recommendation on our trip to San Antonio-Austin, and it was really memorable. The staff welcome you upon entry, giving a detailed, knowledge overview of the exhibits and LBJ history. You can tell how passionate they are about the subject matter! When we went in Oct 2025, their library floors were under construction, but the first and top floors are still really interesting and impressive. I'm not a big history buff, but I left feeling really inspired and empowered. Speaks to the expertise of the team and how engaging the museum is. We also came in on a Tuesday, which happened to be half price!

OK, so upon checking in the person was so rude and mean and it felt like we were bugging them. It wasn’t busy so I don’t understand that however, the exhibit in the museum itself was amazing the hip-hop museum Museum, which is temporary loved it and the person who works in the gift shop was really nice. I will be back because the fourth floor was closed and I want to see what that is about.

As a foreign visitor, some of the content didn’t feel as close or personal to me—but I still found it engaging and very informative. The museum presents LBJ’s legacy with honesty, showing both the achievements and the controversies. Some exhibits feel a bit dated, but the architecture and certain spaces alone make it worth a visit. If you’re into politics, U.S. history, or just enjoy well-designed museums, it’s a solid stop.
JESUS P — Google review
Absolutely top-notch experience at the LBJ Presidential Library. This place is a must-visit for anyone interested in American history, politics, or just great storytelling through primary sources. The museum begins with a powerful timeline that tracks LBJ’s life alongside major events in U.S. and world history. It sets the tone perfectly and really grounds you in the era. The Vietnam 1968 exhibit was incredibly moving—thoughtfully curated and emotionally resonant, it gives a deep and nuanced view of such a complicated time. The next floor continues the journey with exhibits on JFK’s assassination, the Civil Rights Movement, and LBJ’s landmark Great Society programs. It’s informative, immersive, and at times deeply personal. Even though the actual archives aren’t open to the public, their towering presence between the museum levels adds a real sense of weight and importance to the space. And at the top? A stunning recreation of LBJ’s Oval Office—elegant, detailed, and incredibly cool to stand inside. Highly recommend making time for this if you’re in Austin. It’s not just a presidential library—it’s a powerful, well-crafted look at a transformative period in American life.

Lake Pflugerville, located just 30 minutes outside of Austin, is a man-made reservoir that offers a variety of outdoor activities for visitors. Originally built as a water-supply source, the lake now serves as a popular destination for locals and tourists. The area features hiking trails, swimming areas with small pebble beaches, fishing spots, and boat launches. Additionally, visitors can enjoy kayaking and windsurfing on the lake.
What a fantastic, well thought out lake! Walking path all around the lake, approximately 2 miles around. Besides docks and sitting benches and platforms to view and fish at, located on the other side is a small beach with two covered picnic benches and small grass area. You can rent kayaks (see pictures) and even get windsurfing lessons. A medium size larger covered area and playgrounds for the littles. This is definitely one to come back to again and again.

Dell Diamond is a renowned sports venue located in Round Rock, Texas. It serves as the home stadium for the Round Rock Express, a Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers baseball team. The stadium boasts a seating capacity of 11,631 and offers fantastic views from every seat, including premium areas like the Intel Club, pool and spa party area, Premium Seats behind home plate, and four Topps tables.
Minor league baseball stadium for Round Rock express. One of the few professional sports teams in the Austin area. Really nice stadium for the minor leagues, seemed to have a lot of restaurants and amenities. Tickets were reasonably priced (unlike a certain stadium in Austin proper): $31 for seats just left of home plate. The game was fairly well attended (we went on Friday) and it was a good fan experience. At the time of writing, they do a fireworks show after the game on Fridays. Recommended for a fun night out with family / friends.

I’ve been to Dell Diamond a bunch of times—it’s a great spot for baseball in Round Rock. The stadium is clean and family-friendly, with fun kids’ areas and a playground. Games are exciting, especially with fireworks on Fridays, and the food is delicious. Affordable tickets and friendly staff make it a top choice for a relaxing outing. Highly recommend!

I love to take my son here to watch games. We have the fireworks season membership which gives you 24 tickets( all firework nights plus additional games to mix it up!). We spent a little over $1,000 for the tickets for both us. They do have cheaper options and for those lucky enough they have more expensive options as well. We added the Intel Club and for about $25 per person they have a buffet set up with a rotating menu. This is gourmet food not hotdogs. It’s truly a good value. All of the staff are extremely nice! Shout to Aaron Verwald our sales rep! He provides great customer service all season long! I highly recommend that if you are interested in season membership you call them and ask for Aaron! We had a great experience here. I wish, though, that the food vendor prices could be less expensive. It cost $16 for my chicken bacon sandwich, and most burgers and sandwiches cost this. It's like airport food prices.

The Del diamond is a great AAA park, and also has a lot of other space useful for meetings and conventions. Inside the park, there are dozens of restaurants with excellent food at standard ballpark prices. Actually getting into the games is relatively inexpensive, and almost all of the seats have good views. The outfield is filled with kids running around like crazy and has a lot of kids activities. Once in a while, they have fireworks which are nice, but try to not leave the stadium before the fireworks begin because they use fireworks that go off at lower altitudes, probably as a concession for fires in the middle of a Round Rock neighborhood.

Georgetown Palace Theatre is a charming vintage art deco theater located in the historic downtown district of Georgetown. It offers a cozy and restored setting for a year-round season of live theater productions, including musicals, comedies, and dramas. The venue was formerly a movie house that underwent renovation to become a live theater in 2001. Visitors can enjoy delicious food and live music at nearby eateries like Sweet Lemon Kitchen before or after catching a show at the theatre.
Every seat has great sightlines, and the climate control works very well as I was neither too hot nor too cold. The staff was very friendly and the concession stand was well stocked and very fast. I was impressed with the number of actors and the stage sets. It is no match for full Broadway show but it is much better than some of the off Broadway shows I have attended. Bravo!

I have enjoyed coming to see shows here. Recently, I saw Beautiful, the musical about Carol King and I was beyond pleased. I appreciated the way they cast the show. The actors were not what I could consider a conventional approach for some of the roles and test they told the story so beautifully (no pun intended). It brought to light that theatre is meant to tell a story and gives us a glimpse into the past. It’s to educate us through song and dialogue combined with the skill of an actor. This cast was so spot on and I enjoyed every minute. As an actor who has worked with this company in the past, I appreciate the thoughtful way they stage and cast shows.

We saw a fantastic production of "In the Heights" there tonight. The cast and crew were so talented! It's amazing what they did on this quaint stage and older playhouse. Bravo! There isn't a bad seat in the house and there are adults beverages too.

Came here for opening night of the Sound of Music show. The staff was all friendly and the seating while, tight is better than most older theaters. The upstair was pretty warm though (to be fair it was 106° out). The cast did amazing and the show was great. Happy to have come and I’m sure I’ll be back again! Come check it int

Saw Fiddler on the Roof here the other night. It was a great show. The music was great, as was the performing cast. I was in the balcony seating and it was not bad at all. I saw and heard everything I needed to. They have a small concessions booth and they moved as fast as you would expect. They had sodas, snacks, and alcohol. It did get a bit warm inside towards the end of the show. Overall, a really great place to catch theater.

We saw The Beautiful: The Carol King Musical. The show and venue were both great.

I saw Beautiful and the actors and music were top notch. The restroom stalls are limited so due to the 95% of the movie goers are geriatric, need to expand the size f the restrooms. Interesting older people — a lady asked if I knew someone in the show since I was there……

Have had seasons tickets to the Palace for years. The Springer Stage is the larger venue with more elaborate/professional productions. Have enjoyed almost everything we’ve seen on the Springer Stage. The Playhouse, around the corner, is small and intimate. In years past they have put on some very good plays. This past season we’ve noticed a discernible decline in quality and actually walked out of two productions at intermission. Not sure what’s going on there, but will give it one more shot.

Blue Hole Park is a charming lagoon surrounded by limestone bluffs, creating a serene and picturesque setting. Located just a few blocks from downtown, it offers an ideal escape from the heat. The park features trails, picnic spots, and a wading area along the south fork of the San Gabriel River. Visitors can enjoy swimming in the natural pool or simply relax by the water's edge. Additionally, there are hiking trails that provide access to fishing in the river.
Fantastic and peaceful place, it is great for hiking and family-friendly atmosphere. Here, you can feel in contact with nature. It has endless green and fresh air with beautiful wildlife to be enjoyed. It is great for different ocations, hiking, running, photography session, picnic, family time, and much more. Highly recommended to visit in Georgetown!

Blue Hole Park is a wonderful place for walking, jogging, and spending quality time with friends and family. It’s also perfect for fishing enthusiasts! I went with my relatives and their kids, and we really enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere, greenery, and stunning scenery… and of course, the lovely faces 🤣🤩. My tip for visitors: Bring seating essentials like blankets or small chairs, and some snacks to make the most of your time. And don’t forget to keep the place clean!

Excellent retreat in this heat! Walk path leads to a small cemetery that was also interesting. Lots of shaded areas where you can seat. The mini falls was so refreshing. Free parking but limited.

This is a beautiful place to go spend the day with your family to swim and relax in the water. It has a deep area to swim in or float on behind the dam, and then where the water flows over the dam. There is a nice shallow part that is flowing where you can just set your chair in it and relax.Definitely recommend going.

Awsome place to go to. The environment is always friendly. The water is wonderful! There is no alcohol "allowed," but you can bring anything else as well as a Stanley cup.😉🤫 They have police to ensure rules are followed. you can bring your own grill. They provide trash cans for hot coals. Floats of all sizes are allowed prepare to walk them to the water😂 dogs swim at the bottom.

Fun park, especially after it’s rained a bit so there’s some water flowing down the little waterfalls. Parking is limited at the park entrance but there is plenty of street parking near by. Restrooms are available for public use. This park has a great little trail, Pickett Trail - a fun hike with a few rocky steps to climb and descend. You can bring your dogs, please keep them on leash. Our senior pup loves the park and all the fun smells/sights.

I had a blast here! It can get crowded but it's such a nice place to take family and friends to for a dip and a picnic! Definitely recommend wearing water shoes of some sort, bring a picnic blanket or a folding chair, some snacks and a drink and you're all set! I jumped off the bluff, it was great!!

I come here when I'm staying the weekend at my dad's (he has land in Granger). This parish has been renovated and they did such an amazing job. It is absolutely beautiful! The stations are detailed and large, plenty of saints in various places (my confirmation saint is there, I've never seen a statue of her in a parish before) and the alter!! The alter is so elegantly decorated! The parishioners are friendly, as are the deacon and priest and the organist played amazingly well, like a professional. I wish I didn't live in Killeen.. I would make this my home parish. I was truly surprised at how few people attended the 1000 Mass, especially seeing as they only have Masses at 8 and 10 on Sunday. I guess it's just a small town.

Stopped here on our way back to San Antonio and glad we did! Staff was super friendly and helpful. They had 57 different beers on tap and the folks there provided suggestions and answered any questions we had. Great variety and the food nextdoor was all super tasty so we will definitely make a plan to come back.

My friends and I did a wine tasting and really enjoyed it. Liz was so knowledgeable and gave us just what each of us liked. Wednesday is 25% off bottles too! Best experience we had in Texas Hill Country. Liz actually took the time to explain the wines to us.

We went in on trivia night, it was very crowded. We ordered our food Nextdoor and by the time it was done we had found seating. it took a while to get drinks ordered and to find someone to tell us how to join the trivia. The place is very cluttered with items they sell and lots of boxes! Once we figured it all out it was fun, just wish that could have been clearer to us new people. Anyways I’m sure we’ll return since we know how it all works.

First time here. Walked in and with 4 people standing behind the bar we were not greeted or acknowledged. As one of the bar tenders walked by us we asked if we just sit anywhere and he muttered “yep”. So we sat and waited. After about 10 minutes we were about to get up and leave when one of the girls saw us and came over to tell us we have to go next store to order food but they can bring it here. At least she made an effort which is why I gave 2 stars instead of just 1. I guess I missed the sign coming in. We got up and went next door then decided it wasn’t worth the effort and we went to the Shed instead.

Husband and I stopped in for a drink and this place was great, so great we came back again later in the evening for trivia. We enjoyed sitting at the bar having great conversations with the bartenders. This is definitely the place to come to whether visiting or staying in town. Thank you so much!!

Stumbled upon this place when passing through town. There are a lot more beer and wine options than what I was expecting from the outside. Just goes to show you can't always judge a book by it's cover. Chatted with the staff a bit. They were all friendly and knowledgeable. I can definitely imagine spending a lot of time here if I was a local. Thank you for making me feel welcomed as I was passing through

The Temple Railroad & Heritage Museum is a delightful destination for families and individuals alike, offering an engaging glimpse into the world of railroads. While it may be compact, this museum is thoughtfully organized with a variety of fascinating artifacts and exhibits that cater to both young children and adults. Visitors can explore interactive displays, climb aboard train cars including an engine and caboose, and enjoy outdoor views of an active rail yard. The museum also hosts monthly family days filled with fun activities like crafts and astronomy for kids.
Very nice museum with plenty of railroad artifacts inside. You can go on, in, and through some actual trains, caboose, and passenger cars. My family enjoyed it. It's next to a busy train yard to watch them slowly go by.

Fun family oriented museum. Scavenger hunt. Lots of cool things to view and you can even explore the trains cars out on the tracks. The interactive section of the museum was a little messed up from overzealous kids not being watched by their parents. The typewriter was actively being destroyed while we were there by a young child. Had to pick up typewriter keys off the ground and reattach them when they stepped away. Close to downtown Temple as well. Good place to walk when you are finished.

Love this place. It's so cool. They have seasonal events, too! Pretty neat. There's a room up top where you have a giant window and you can even see the trains departing. There's also rooms in the museum where you can type on a type writer and see other interesting old tech up close. I really love demonstrational museums.

Very nice museum. Be sure to go outside to go in the REAL train cars and especially the HUGE Old Steam Engine. Pull to ring the Bell also ! Plus it's close to the Temple rail yard so you get to see the real things, like working train engines moving cars around the yard, and maybe an Amtrak too.

History Museums
Nestled in the heart of Temple, Texas, the Czech Heritage Museum and Genealogy Center is a delightful gem that beautifully encapsulates the rich tapestry of Texan-Czech culture. This charming museum features stunning mosaic tiles and offers an engaging glimpse into Czech history through its well-curated exhibits, including traditional costumes and captivating stories.
Definitely a stop you shouldn't miss if you are in the area. My wife and I are from Czechoslovakia (it was that when we were born), but you don't have to be to thoroughly enjoy this small museum and its beautiful exhibits. Ken, the proprietor, will walk you through the history, enlighten you with cool stories of other visitors, and you'll definitely get a lot of recommendations for other Czech-and-Slovak-related sights and activities in the area, such as dance halls, or stores and restaurants with delicious Czech foods. I never knew Texas has such a rich Czech and Slovak history. The museum itself is very small, so if you only have an hour or two to spare, you can easily get through it, if you walk and read fast. The museum was not busy at all on Saturday around 1pm (there were only 2 other people there). It's definitely suitable and exciting for kids too, but keep in mind that there are things within reach they shouldn't touch and handle. The exhibits on 'loutky' (puppets), 'kroje' - the traditional clothing, and old farm and household equipment from the Old World is pretty neat to see (in great condition, too). They dedicated a few exhibits to the Sokol athletic movement, Tomáš Gariggue Masaryk, Václav Havel, Ján Hus and other statesmen, and influential figures.

Best tour guide around! A wealth of knowledge. So glad we stopped by this interesting place!
Gracie Z — Google review
This museum is beautiful with beautiful items. I truly enjoyed the items. The gentleman who was going to give us a tour was very nice and passionate about this museum which is a big plus....however very talkative.. just to get through the front part of the museum which should have taken 10 to 15 mins at most took almost 30 minutes. I kind of was bored after all these dates and facts. 2 people entered the museum after we started so we had to wait for him to catch them up and go through everything he just told us. Well then we were gonna go to the next part and watch a 9 minute video but the tour guide and the 2 other people got to talking and wouldn't stop. My mom and I walked around the entire museum. 30 to 45 minutes later he came and found us at the end of the museum and ushered us back to watch the video. We left after that. Kind of a waste to go back through the museum again. My guess is the complete tour takes 2 to 3 hrs so make sure you make enough time to visit

I loved learning about the Czech culture and how they got here in Texas, the owner, Im assuming thats who he was, was really helpful and informative. would highly recommend if you want to learn about Czech-Texan history

I had a lovely visit to the museum today. I ended up gabbing with the docent for a good 30 minutes, but we shared some interesting connections to the Czech culture (I am not Czech). One particularly impressive part of the collection was the assortment of marionettes that are a good 150 years old but still in great condition with intricate detailing. For the low admission fee, it's worth a visit.

Very well educated staff. Found out my family came over on a boat and ported in Galveston. It was very well put together with a lot of Czech paintings and art. I really enjoyed myself and plan on being back for another visit real soon.
Ryan J — Google review
Nice little museum. The elderly museum worker talked my ear off and wouldn't stop. I avoided him on the way out. Other than that it's worth a visit on a 'nothing to do' day. The video had an interesting fact. I always thought that traditional Mexican music sounded similar to the German Polka music my dad listen to when I was growing up. In the video it explains that Czech Polka and Mexican bands played together and influenced each other. So that explains the similarity. :-)

I’ve been out to the new location for this winery several times now. It is quiet and comfortable and perfect for me and a friend to just sit and enjoy some wine. Also great for groups as they have more seating in the back of the large building! The owner, Crystal was so friendly and very helpful and knowledgeable. There were even baby sheep out next to the building! So pretty out there, especially around sunset.

Found this winery during a road trip!! I said winery but in fact it’s more than that. It’s also a live concert venue, an artist sanctuary and former early 20th century bank remodeled into a winery. The service was awesome, I was so welcomed by the sommelier Rachel! My favorite was the Merlot!! Highly recommended!!

Let me start by saying this is not an expert opinion. In regards to visiting vineyards in the local area this i would have to say this is one vineyard you can overlook. I bought the bottle that is pictured and I knew somthing was not going to be good the second I started uncorking it as the the cork started to Crack and about 1/3 of the way the cork started spinning as the cork did not have a good seal to the bottle. Once uncorked you can tell the bottle has been kept in the upright postion since 2018 as the bottom of the cork had no discoloration to it. Now to the wine itself, the first smell was a reminder of nail polish remover and unfortunately the taste was not far behind that. I love the local wines and try to support them and I really wanted to like Kissing Tree. Maybe it was this batch and maybe there other wines are better. Unfortunately for $29 I feel robbed.

Mother Neff State Park

Nature & Parks
Park
Texas's first state park, with woodland trails, a limestone river basin & prairie, plus campsites.
Small but very clean and beautiful State Park. We had a full hookups pull through perfectly level on a concrete slab! Dang near perfect for a state park. Nina Bonifer was outstanding. The best state park employee I have ever interacted with! We hiked most of the trails and enjoyed our stay. My only negative would be that bikes are not allowed on the trails. . No big deal but my mountain bike sat chained to a tree for three days. I would definitely visit her again!

On the smaller side, this Texas State Park offers lots of history. It's arguably the oldest Texas State Park, and there is a lot of CCC history still preserved today as well. The park offers some short hikes that offer some mild rocky hiking, and not just flat dirt trails. The tower's view is nice, at least for the roughly Waco area. It made for a pleasant day trip.
Kaitlin B — Google review
Beautiful state park! We only had about an hour and a half to explore (part of the park was closed), but we managed to see quite a bit and really enjoyed it. It was a fun little stop before heading to our main destination. Main restrooms next to the entrance was very clean. Lots of sight seeing, terrain, and bugs and birds to see. Bonus points — we were out catching Pokémon and the park had tons of PokéStops, which made the visit even better. 🤣

Great park for RV camping with close proximity to Waco for tourist attractions. Full hook ups, very clean facilities and well maintained trail system. This is an awesome park. If you like stargazing there is very little light pollution. The only con is that the road noise is actually pretty intense at times but definitely shouldn’t deter you from staying.

Beautiful little park. Very well kept and quiet. Staff were super nice. Only 2 small ponds, but the road to the river was closed due to flooding so maybe there’s riverfront there, not sure. Lots of trees and shade! I think it was too hot for most wildlife, but saw lots of dragonflies though!

This is a beautiful state park. It's small, but don't let that discourage you from visiting. It has a rich history that's explained in the welcome center. You will not want to miss the informative exhibits that explain its backstory, including how it got its name. The staff were extremely friendly and made me feel welcomed instead of just a number. The cave was AMAZING, by far my favorite part. Make sure you don't touch the brown patches on the ceiling; it is daddy long leg SPIDERS huddled together.

I cannot say it’s the best state park in Texas but I really enjoyed and liked it. It’s a small park though. My favorite part was the rock tower and the cave reminded me of home. Definitely worth the visit.

Classic drive-in theater offering double features of first run movies & a snack bar.
A fantastic time for me and my son! We made it to town from Austin with just enough time to get a room and make it to the movie on time. His first double feature and his first drive-in experience. A thunderstorm rolled in and the box office lost power to the movie and sound but everything was re-established in a timely manner and backed up to a short time before the power went out. No harm - no foul. The storm added an additional touch to a fun time. Thanks for having this place!!

Run down, over grown with weeds by the bathrooms . Ugly . Feels like you are parked in a trashy run down abandoned parking lot . Obstructed views .Oh my goodness ! Stay at home and get a pizza from CiCis. Candy selection is scarce. There are these 2 small long buildings right in the center front of the screen that need to be moved . Dumbest ideal to put them right there. With a little tlc, this place would be so cool. The owners dont know what they could have. That long building with the projector needs to be cleaned and weeded around and shortened. Or Hint - tear it down ! Everything here is off. A diamond in the rough. $10 dollars for 2 movies is ok but really,no ones sitting through 2. And you dont have the choice to say I only want 1 . My kids wanted to leave time we got there because it didnt look safe at all but we endured. Turned out to be a goodish experience every kid should have at least once. Just find a better one to go to. .So bring your off mosquito spray because mosquitos are living large with these overgrown weeds right by the car. Help in the front are ok. They donot take debit cards. Only cash or venmo. The atm machine in their office is very hard to see and use. Be prepared to pony up $2.50 to get your cash out . Bring your own food and drinks...and sence of humor and you'll be just fine.

My boyfriend took me here to see the new Minions movie The rise of Gru. I don't like leaving my dog at home and we were able to bring her also. It cost $10 for a car load. We got a great parking spot up close to the screen. The food was very reasonably priced! I got a large soda, extra large buttery popcorn, and nachos with cheese and jalapenos and it only cost $9.00. They also have pizza, hot dogs, all sorts of candy and some other things that I can't remember. The bathroom are kinda outdated but don't really feel it's fair to rate them on that. We go to see the movie not the bathrooms. I feel it shouldn't matter if it's a five star bathroom as long as the viewing of the movie is. Also they do at least keep them clean. The only problem we had was the car in front of us was parked backwards so they could sit in the back part of their van. They couldn't figure out at first how to turn their auto-headlights off with the van running. But my boyfriend helped them and the movie was great after that. À lot of people go there and have tailgate barbecues and bring their chairs and everything. It's a great place to bring kids also.

Gee I wish there was a higher rating than 5 on Google Maps because I'd give JDH Iron Designs 100 stars without hesitation. While visiting Waco last week, I knew that I wanted to take a ride to Crawford, TX, to visit Jimmy Don's shop. So, Saturday, 7/30/2018. The drive was beautiful and once we arrived, we met a very sweet young lady behind the desk and a kind gentleman who was also working with her. We browsed the store and purchased a few in-stock items and also placed an order for two other custom items. We overheard another customer ask if Jimmy Don was there and apparently he was expected any minute. Since we began chatting with the other couple who had come in, we decided that we'd hang out for awhile as well. Sure enough, Jimmy Don arrived about 45 minutes after we had arrived. He apologized over and over that we had waited so long for him. Believe me, the pleasure of meeting Jimmy Don was well worth it. A nicer more humble gentleman we have NEVER met. He stood and talked with us and the other couple for about 20 minutes and was so kind to sign two pieces that we bought. The custom pieces will also be signed when they are completed. Jimmy Don shared freely about how he came to know and work with Joanna & Chip Gaines and Fixer Upper. I love the fact that their working relationship was sealed with a handshake. Also, he shared that Joanna & Chip are wonderful, honest and down-to-earth people and it's clear that they are friends as well. It was amazing to meet Jimmy Don and talk with him and take a few pictures. He clearly enjoys greeting and talking with people who come to the shop and find out where they are from. It is wonderful to know that true gentlemen do still exist and that Jimmy Don is an honorable man who's word is his bond and a handshake seals the deal. This man is a true blessing. Jimmy Don, if you and your family are ever in the Winchester, VA area again, our door is open and I will be happy to feed you. Feel free to call. God Bless you and your family.

Thank you JDH for the beautiful sign. My friend got all teary eyed when she opened it. It's going to be hung at her ranch that she calls the "Happy Place", a haven for her family and a place she generously shares with her friends. I am so impressed with the level of craftsmanship, detail, and professional/courteous service at JDH. Thank you for making this gift extra special and correcting the proofs to make it 100% perfect. I was so thrilled to speak with JDH himself as I have admired his work throughout the years on Fixer Upper. This sign is made to last and surely will!

What a great experience! It was about 20 minutes outside of Waco, but well worth it! The land was beautiful. It's a big place with more than enough parking. The shop inside was fairly small but had a wide variety of items ranging from $20ish and up. Items can be shipped or custom ordered. The viewing window in the back was neat. Jimmy Don came out to meet the customers. Never met such a humble and down to earth kind of guy. He stood and talked with us for about 20 mins. If your anywhere near Waco this is definitely worth the trip.

I ordered my custom design on 10/21/23 during Silobration. I approved the proof on 12/1/23 since the paperwork stated it takes 2-4 weeks for JDH Iron Designs to turn around proofs. After waiting over 9 weeks since approving my design, I received my custom sign on 2/6/24. Unfortunately, I did not receive the design I approved. I immediately emailed JDH Iron Designs and included photo documentation of the error. I also followed up with a phone call. I expressed in my email and in my phone conversation with the individual who answered my call, that not only did I want the sign corrected, but I requested a partial refund due to the error and excessive wait time of nearly 4 months. The individual shared that he would speak to his manager and follow up with me. It has been over a week and the only resolution I have received is today I was emailed that another sign is on the way. JDH Iron Designs' customer service leaves a lot to be desired. The difference between good and bad customer service is simply letting customers know they matter by responding in a timely matter with empathy and kindness, especially when your business fails at providing the design that was ordered.

Always a great experience, and we spend too much money every single time. We have been lucky enough that each time we have shopped at the store or the trailer, Jimmy Don was there, he is very friendly and can really tell a story. I can't imagine you entering this place and not finding something that you "need", the trick is getting out of the shop without needing too much. The drive out is always nice and relaxing, I recommend making a couple of wrong turns to make it last a little longer. Thank you JDH, you have a great staff.

We drove all the way from Florida to pick up my custom made sign. Communicated vis email with Chris for months with the design and timing for when we would make our trip there. Chris was very helpful and responsive the entire time. The sign is beautiful and Jimmy Don was very gracious to sign it for us. Great experience, great people, worth the trip!!

Just left JDH Iron Designs. It's a little bit of a drive from waco but so worth it. Got there and did some shopping. Bought a couple beautiful pieces and getting ready to order a couple of custom orders. Jimmy Don came out to say hello and spent 15 minutes with us and took pictures. What a humble, kind and genuinely sweet man. Told us his story. This kind of success couldn't have happened to a nicer man. Thank you for making our trip a memorable one!!

The Dr Pepper Museum, located in a 1906 bottling plant, is a nonprofit gallery dedicated to exploring the history and memorabilia of soft drinks. It showcases the legacy of Dr. Pepper, one of the oldest and most iconic soft drinks globally, created before Coca-Cola. The museum offers visitors an opportunity to delve into the brand's history through various activities such as making soda, tasting different flavors, and exploring paranormal encounters.
I had an amazing experience at the Dr Pepper Museum, thank y’all so much for making this Birthday another amazing, very special day. To me that means a lot, y’all had an awesome, friendly staff, great flavor selection for the Soda Laboratory/Make-A-Soda. The Staff Gave Me A Birthday Pin To Go and I absolutely love it! I’m all here for it! Thank y’all again! Oh! And if y’all need an extra face or spokes person for Dr Pepper, well I’m the man!

We visited as part of a conference held at the Waco Convention Center so we were not charged admission. But if we were charged admission, I would say that it is worth it. The museum tells the history of Dr. Pepper, including the original artesian well that provided the water for a time. Be sure to check out the gift shop for some really clever souvenirs. The soda shop has Dr. Pepper drinks for sale as well as U.S. history. Specifically, the shop has exhibits on the civil rights movement and sit-ins at lunch counters, as well as the history of women in the workplace. Both museums are really well done.

We had a great time visiting the Dr Pepper Museum! It was both fun and educational with lots of interesting history about one of America’s most iconic sodas. The exhibits were well put together and easy to follow with a nice mix of artifacts, photos, and interactive features. One of the best parts? We got a free soda at the end and it was delicious, ice cold, and made the experience even sweeter. If you’re a fan of soda history or just looking for a unique activity, this museum is definitely worth the visit.

It was fascinating to learn interesting facts about Dr Pepper. The experience was enjoyable for all ages, evoking nostalgia and featuring captivating vintage ads and bottles. As Dr Pepper enthusiasts, we found this experience to be highly engaging and culminating in an amazing Dr Pepper float.

Ok so before you go realize that it is a museum about the local Waco culture and is not directly about the soda brand lol. We thought it was like still active but that's on us. It's really good and not super busy. Some of their things I highly highly recommend a week in advance get reservations because you can't do it with walking up.

You can't beat the price for this cute museum. It was totally fun to check out the history of the Dr. PEPPER- Alot of history... almost too much but, with a quick one hour experience- we didn't make our own soda, but we definitely got a float at the end and it free cup of Dr. Pepper. So it was a fun way to wrap up the experience and tons of picture opportunities between the 2 buildings.

My family and I absolutely loved it! We learned so much cool history, and getting to make our own sodas was such a fun experience. My husband is a huge Dr Pepper fan, and it was awesome to finally understand why 👀😂 everything just clicked!! definitely recommend a visit!

The museum, established in 1968, showcases over 20,000 artifacts including firearms, badges, saddles and uniforms used by the rangers throughout history. This is the perfect spot to explore their storied past, with well-curated exhibits that bring their legacy to life. A must-visit for every cowboy at heart!

I’ve been wanting to come here for many years to check it out, and never had been able to until today! The many exhibits of firearms from past and present Rangers are a big part of the Rangers history. They also had several items from the old Lone Ranger TV show , and even a few from Walker, Texas Ranger on display. If you are a fan of history, it’s a great place to come visit!

I loved it. I haven't visited in 20 years and was excited to take my grandchildren this time. It has expanded so much and the exhibits were really nice. The scavenger hunt was fun and kept the kids engaged.

We visited the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame as part of a homeschool outing and were truly impressed! The museum is much larger than it looks from the outside, with so much to see and learn. The exhibits are fascinating, and the introductory video was excellent—very informative and engaging. While we were part of a larger group (mostly from Fort Worth), we want to sincerely apologize for the rowdy and disrespectful behavior from many in that group. They were not part of our personal homeschool circle, and we were honestly embarrassed by the noise and lack of manners. Despite the challenges, our tour guide was incredibly patient and kind the entire time. She handled the situation with grace and continued the tour with professionalism and warmth. We really appreciated her and the whole experience. We also enjoyed browsing the gift shop and picked up some great items. We’re already planning to come back again next year on our own. Highly recommend for anyone interested in Texas history!

The Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum in Waco is a must-visit! The video presentation was outstanding—it didn’t shy away from sharing the good, bad, and ugly of Texas Ranger history, which made for an informative and engaging experience. The entire museum is exceptionally clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate. The exhibits are well done and packed with fascinating artifacts that bring history to life. It’s a fun and educational experience for the whole family. Whether you’re a history buff or just looking for something unique to do in Waco, I highly recommend stopping by!

Sights & Landmarks
The Waco Suspension Bridge, a historic landmark in Texas, was built in 1870 and was the longest of its kind west of the Mississippi at that time. It spans the Brazos River and consists of over 3 million bricks. The bridge offers picturesque views during both day and night, with the river reflecting moonlight after dark. Originally constructed for cattle, travelers, soldiers, and settlers, it now only allows pedestrian traffic.
We really enjoyed spending time at the suspension bridge. It's handicap accessible. The bronze statues were so real looking. They almost take you back in time. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting this place.
William J — Google review
Great bridge to visit when in Waco. So much history in one single place. One can only imagine how it was crossing the river before the bridge was build. Today the bridge is well maintained and easy to walk. There are great views to the west and east, and you can walk the nearby parks along both sides of the river. We walked it a Saturday near lunch. Not to many people. And when you walk it from south to north you end up at a farmer’s market.
Dan M — Google review
The kind of bridge that is reminiscent of something from the East Coast. To which, the builder was from New York. Spanning the Brazos and near to Baylor University and nice hotels, the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and much more, this is a sweet suspension bridge featured in a clean and nice little city.
S F — Google review
A great place to go at night and enjoy some history of the bridge and the beautiful view night time view is way better than daytime
Kenneth B — Google review
The Waco Suspension Bridge, completed 155 years ago in 1870 using cables from the builders of the Brooklyn Bridge, was the first major suspension bridge in Texas. Spanning 475 feet across the Brazos River, it served the public for over 100 years—carrying cattle, wagons, and pedestrians—until it closed to vehicles in 1971 and now stands as a scenic pedestrian landmark.

Cameron Park Zoo is a sprawling 52-acre zoo located within Cameron Park along the Brazos River. It is home to over 1,700 animals from 300 different species. The zoo offers various attractions for visitors, including a clear slide through the river otter habitat and a 50,000-gallon aquarium. Children can enjoy activities at Grammy Nells playground area and witness live animal presentations.
Visited this zoo on a spontaneous Friday afternoon trip from Austin and it was very quiet (only saw a few other visitors) which made for a more enjoyable experience! Arrived at 3:30 and the park closes at 5 but still had enough time to see everything! Although some exhibits are under construction like the gibbon lake right when you walk in. Clean, walkable, lots of shade and places to sit, if neeeded. It’s a well-designed zoo with a wide arrange of animals. I especially liked the indoor exhibit with all the snakes, as well as the giraffes and penguins.

My husband and I have went to Austin Zoo and San Antonio Zoo, and although those 2 are good, the Waco zoo is BEST. The staff is nice, the atmosphere is great, clean and family friendly especially for kids. We saw animals we have never seen, and the bathrooms were clean and smelled great. We will definitely come back!
Paola S — Google review
Not sure if it’s because it’s the dead of summer or if it’s because places like this aren’t frequented like they used to be but I was a little sad seeing all the animals hiding from the heat with little fresh water to be seen. Some of the enclosures were cleaner and well kept than others. With that being said the grounds are clean and the facilities are well kept. Staff seemed friendly but didn’t see many people working and staff was very minimal. The zoo is a decent size and is under renovation in many areas. Maybe when these are all done and things reopen it will be a better experience.
Wil T — Google review
Éxcellent zoo experience! The zoo is a great size, we strolled the exhibits for about 3 hours with plenty of time to stop and look. Not too busy either on a Friday afternoon. The animals looked well kept and moderately active, the staff was kind and not invasive at all, and the layout has plenty of restrooms and indoor stops to take a break from the heat if the day. You can pay at the gate ($18/person) and bring your own food and drinks. I really don't have anything bad to say at all. Will be back again!

My primary reason for going to the Cameron Park Zoo was for the Penguin Encounter. It was super cute and our guide, Candice, was awesome. The zoo had some wonderful animals on display 😍 including a 49-year-old elephant in addition to a 31-year-old penguin. Plenty of places to sit & a small hiking trail. You could easily spend a couple hours at this gem.

Cameron Park Zoo is such a great place to visit! Super easy to walk through with tons of amazing animals and a wide variety of exhibits. It’s really toddler-friendly — smooth paths, shaded areas, and plenty to keep little ones entertained. We spent about 2–3 hours walking at a faster pace, and it was the perfect size — not huge, but big enough to wear out my 1.5-year-old! Easily one of my favorite zoos we’ve visited across the country.
Caitlin M — Google review
The workers were super nice and very helpful! The only animals that weren’t there were the otters, or atleast they weren’t out at that time. All the animals look taken care of and healthy! The gift shop was kinda expensive considering the tickets were only $18. A magnet was $15..

This is one of my favorite zoos ever. The enrichment in the enclosures is great, and the keepers are always so kind and educational. Side note: The chicken tender combo from the cafe is fantastic! I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. Large portions, made fresh, and great quality.

Waco Mammoth National Monument

Waco Mammoth National Monument is a significant paleontological site that showcases the in-situ fossils of a herd of Ice Age mammoths and other animals. This national monument, established in 2009 and covering 100 acres, offers guided tours through wooded parkland along the Brazos River to the dig shelter. Visitors can experience the terrain and life during the Ice Age while learning about the discovery of these fossils.
My boyfriend and I stopped here on our way down to Galveston and had a really great time. It only cost a few dollars to get in and we got to take the guided tour and learn all about how these mammoths and other fossils were discovered in this area. We headed to the gift shop and purchased the usual souvenirs (shot glass, magnet) as well as some matching T-shirts and some super cool minerals! Then after that, we hiked on one of the trails and the Rangers weren’t even mad when we came back late because we got lost. 😆 it was a great time, we would recommend for both kids and adult adults alike!
Gina M — Google review
Waco Mammoth National Monument was a really cool and unexpected find. It’s not every day you get to see actual mammoth fossils still in the ground where they were discovered! The covered dig site is the highlight—climate-controlled and well laid out, with elevated walkways so you get a great view of the fossils without disturbing anything. We took the guided tour, which I highly recommend. Our guide was knowledgeable and made the history feel very alive, explaining how the mammoths likely ended up there and what makes the site so special. There's also a short nature trail and a small visitor center with some interesting displays and a gift shop. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is the price. For a National Park Service site, it felt a little pricey, especially since the visit is on the shorter side—maybe an hour to 90 minutes total unless you linger. Still, it's a unique and educational stop that’s well worth it if you're in the Waco area. Great for families, history buffs, or anyone who just thinks mammoths are awesome (because they are!).
Jeffery R — Google review
We stopped in with only 45 minutes of time available and managed to get in the full tour. The tour guide (John Proctor) did an outstanding job- much better than I was expecting. He was informative while also being entertaining. I appreciated his passion. The walk to the dig site is paved and smooth, mildly hilly. The dig site itself is inside an air conditioned building and is comfortable. There are no restrooms except at the welcome center. They do have a national park passport stamp station and a reasonably priced gift shop. Parking is free and the tour is only $6 for adults. Absolutely worth the stop! No need to buy tickets in advance.
Belynda W — Google review
This was such a neat experience. Until I visited, I never knew some of the animals I discovered lived in Texas. Staff were extremely knowledgeable. The tour, itself, took about 30 minutes. There are other small trails in the area but we didn't get to experience them because it had just rained, so in total, we spent about an hour there. Tours run about every 30 minutes to this active (covered and with ac) dig and preservation site. The best part is that because it's an active site, when you go, it might look a little different than when I went. You learn a little bit about what paleontologists believe happened to the creatures buried for thousands of years and how those thoughts have changed over the years. Places like this are why having national parks and monuments are so important and should be supported, not dismantled.
Tammy M — Google review
Super cool spot in Waco! The mammoth fossils are still in the ground, which makes it way more interesting than just looking at bones in a museum. The place isn’t huge, but the tour guides keep it fun and you actually learn a lot. Trails are easy, kid-friendly, and the whole site feels peaceful. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in Waco.
Jenny N — Google review
This place is very cool and one of a kind experience. You don't ever get to see an active dig site, so this was a very unique experience. The walk down is pleasent, the tour guides are very engaging, and the cost is very low to get in.

$6 for the tour. Really nice park. The female park ranger who gave the tour was amazing and I loved her little jokes. I'd love to come back in a couple years and see what more they have discovered. I loved that this was an active dig site and they have a full-time paleontologist.

It was a neat place to go. They have a guide talk to you about what they have found and they let you ask questions through out it. I just wait it was a little bit bigger. My kids loved it.
