Lakeview Hills Golf Resort & Wedding Venue

Wedding venue
Outdoor Activities
Resort with traditional accommodations, plus casual dining, 18-hole golf courses & a bowling alley.
We have been to the Thanksgiving Day buffet in the past and it was good but this year they really upped their game!! The food was great and so many choices!! Our server, Kaitlyn, was awesome! And they used their banquet venue, which is beautiful!! Thanks for bringing in a tv to watch the Lions!! Perfect!!

Very nice resort. Has 2 full 18 hole golf courses, spa services, 2 on site restaurants. Only a few minutes down the road to MI east coast. I do wish on the website it was emphasized that everything needs reservations. Courses were very well maintained even being early in the year and wet. We had dinner at Emilios and it was phenomenal.

An Unforgettable Celebration of Life at Emilio’s Prime Steakhouse – A Beautiful Tribute to My Dad We recently held a celebration of life for my dad at Emilio’s Prime, and I can’t begin to describe how grateful we are for the incredible experience they created for our family and friends. From the moment we arrived, it was handled with care, grace, and exceptional attention to every detail. The venue itself was absolutely stunning—elegant, warm, and immaculately clean. It provided the perfect setting for both reflection and celebration. The service was extraordinary. The team at Emilio’s went above and beyond in every way. Their compassion, professionalism, and attentiveness made the day feel seamless and stress-free. They were always one step ahead, anticipating needs we hadn’t even thought of, and ensuring every guest felt welcomed and cared for. And the food—awesome. Everything was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The guests commented on how beautiful and clean the rooms were - one was even given an extremely late check out to attend the event. Hosting my dad’s celebration of life at Emilio’s Prime was one of the best decisions we could have made. They turned a difficult moment into a day of love, remembrance, and fun. We will never forget the kindness and excellence they showed us. I wholeheartedly recommend Emilio’s Prime for anyone looking to honor a loved one with dignity, beauty, and care. From the bottom of our hearts—thank you.

Recently discovered their Happy Hour, and would recommend anyone with time to kill to go and check it out, and tip well (the drinks are cheap, doesn’t mean y’all have to be). We live locally, so I cannot comment on any of the rooms or the hotel side of things, but Tyler (Bartender at San Marino) and Savanah (Apologies on spelling) provided excellent conversation, are knowledgeable about what they do (for the people that care about that sort of thing), and just genuinely seem like good people. We will be returning in the future, and are eagerly awaiting the return of the chef’s (A+ Hummus. The Garlic Truffle Fries are also good, and I generally detest any fungus that doesn’t contain Psilocybin.) Mediterranean Cooking Class as we missed it the first time. Also, I don’t give two shakes about golf, but people say nice things.

We enjoyed the junior suite, which was large with a separate sitting room - perfect to prepare for our family wedding. The staff went far above and beyond to ensure our comfort. My son and now daughter-in-law were married April 26, 2025 in the chapel. The grounds are absolutely stunning with lots of photo opportunities. Hope to stay at this resort again when visiting family.

Recently returned home from an annual golf weekend at Lakeview Hills. Both courses were in great shape, and the greens were excellent across all 36 holes. As always, our group enjoyed another great weekend. Rooms, food, and customer service were all first class. Enjoyed seeing the recent renovations to the property after following along on social media. A lot to be excited about going forward. If you’ve not been by in a while you’re missing out!

We just played the North 18. The course was very nice from the tee box to the green ⛳️ , with nice informational signs for the hole. However, I did. Not rate a 5 because I expected a little more for $ 70. The carts were slow, didn't have any covers, or any technology providing hole information, like they do at Solitude Links for the same price.
Backyard D — Google review
Obvious attention has been put on the new buildings. They're very nice, north golf course...not so much. Cant bring your own drinks yet no drink cart or water on course. Ridiculous.

We cannot say enough good things about Solitude Links and the amazing staff there. Jenn, Dakota, Chef Jordan, and everyone on the team were a dream to work with from start to finish. From selecting the venue to our clean up at the end of the wedding, everyone was there to help us through it all. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. The windows, wraparound porch, and views are stunning. Solitude Links is the perfect combination of an outdoor and indoor wedding venue. The food and service were phenomenal. Not only did everything taste delicious, but they also accommodated a multitude of food allergies and intolerances with grace, ensuring everyone had a meal that fit their needs. - the couple is also able to go to multiple tasting to try all the different items on their menu which is a huge plus in deciding which options to go with. Wedding planning is extremely stress but having Jenn, Dakota, and Chef Jordan to help us through it made everything easier. They truly care and it shows in their interactions and assistance they provide. We are so grateful to have gotten married at Solitude Links, everything it provided went above and beyond not just our expectations but also our guests’ expectations as they haven’t stopped raving about the views and the food.

It's wild to me you guys have a 4.3 rating (at this time of this review). I got married there around 8 years ago, played the course, was pretty decent. Nice place for a wedding as well, but let's focus here on what's important: Fast forward to now, we went yesterday, and it's just beautiful. Painful if you're having a bad day though let me tell you. The conditions I'd put against ripoff Cherry Creek/Shepherd's any day and the price was (please don't use this as a reason to jack them up) competitive to ANY course around here within 50 miles as I've golfed them all. I wish I lived closer. Keep up the good work, I plan on visiting again soon. Staff seemed kind of thin, but if it helps keep prices down and keeps the course in this good of a shape, you do you.

We LOVED everything about our wedding at solitude! Jenn and Dakota are AMAZING to work with and everything was a dream come true. The staff is incredible, the food was amazing, and it is a stunning venue!! The planning process was great and it was very in our budget. Could not recommend a better place or group of people!

Me and my husband got married here in late August 2024. We had looked at a handful of places before even contacting Jenn (the event director) and scheduling a tour. Every other venue left us feeling underwhelmed but as soon we walked in at Solitude we were blown away. It is Gorgeous and has the "wow" factor we were looking for. From the big open interior with windows galore, letting in so much natural light, to the huge wrap-around balcony, the bridal/groom suites, and the gorgeous gazebo next to the lake. It's truly a hidden gem. The main highlights for us were: 1) The Price -- Solitudes is pretty much all inclusive. You get the ceremony site, reception (aka indoor/outdoor areas), gorgeous sunsets, the balcony was a huge hit with our guests, linens and chairs included with lots of color options, lots of decor that can be borrowed like table numbers, food, bar, etc. Jenn is your coordinator and go to for everything. She is meticulous and detailed and will do everything in her power to make your dream a reality. And then still the kindest, most fun and easy-going person at the same time! All of this for a very reasonable price (as far as weddings go these days). Any other venue would have been easy an extra $10k for what we got at Solitude. Bonus: they have a list of preferred vendors and we ended up using 4 of them! 2) Food and Bar --The food was amazing. Everyone of our guests raved about the food, including the vegetarian option. We did the plated option but they have family style and buffet style too. The staff were super efficient. Plus they set aside some of hor d' oeuvres just for us and brought the wedding party drinks directly after the ceremony -- they all loved that and said they felt like VIPs. 3) Solitude Inn -- There is a huge house on site (just down the road from the venue) that you can rent. It sleeps up to 24 with 4 bathrooms, and was perfect for our immediate family members (some were elderly, some had kids, etc.). It was so much easier than trying to get them all to/from vs. using the shuttles at the hotel. Plus the kids got to chill and run around and not be confined like in a hotel. Bonus is that because it is so big and spacious and has a kick-a*s game area in the basement and a huge (seats probably 20?) outdoor dining table and firepit so we just hosted our rehearsal dinner there! Was nice to have space to mingle and chill. Overall, we cannot say enough amazing things about this venue and would recommend it to anyone! We had the perfect day and the venue was a huge role in that.

Our wedding at Solitude Links was absolutely beautiful!!! Jennifer and Dakota were extremely helpful during the entire planning process and were always available to answer all of our questions by phone, email, or in person, and they even gave me a lot of suggestions to help my day go as smooth as possible! They were very flexible with last minute changes and were so great to work with!! They were AMAZING!! We were so grateful our dog was able to be included in our wedding ceremony and besides the incredible location, this was one of the other reasons we chose this venue. Jennifer, Dakota, and the entire team made it such a fun day for us and loved that we could include our dog! Additionally, the entire staff including the servers, bartenders, and management was absolutely PHENOMENAL and could not have been any better! They made everything run so smoothly and were there to help coordinate extra little things including our sparkler exit photo! The food was a 10/10 and so glad to hear the same from all of our guests!! Over a week later and we are still hearing amazing feedback! The service to myself and my husband, our bridal party, and our parents tables was exceptional and the staff went above and beyond for not only us but all of our guests. We can’t say enough good things about this venue and everyone who works here!!!!! It’s an absolutely beautiful wedding location with all of the trees, gazebo, and awesome reception location overlooking the golf course with all of the windows. We had an option of an indoor or outdoor ceremony - even in November we chose the outdoor and it turned out to be perfect!! If you’re considering this venue, I’d say look no further!!😊
Stephanie F — Google review
The environment was great, was at a wedding here and everything ran as smoothly as it could. The food service just wasn't the best. I think it was a short handed issue but tables we getting up and getting dessert before other tables were even getting their salads. Bring your sunglasses, because they dont have blinds on the west side of the building.... the one full of windows...
Tyler M — Google review
I was there for a special event. The staff was more than helpful, as well as thoughtful and kind. Food was amazing.
Jeanne M — Google review
A great place for a weeding. Food was excellent, atmosphere and venue are unbeatable. I personally liked the huge deck with fire pits looking over the course. I highly recommend Solitude Links and Banquet Hall.

Lake Saint Clair Metropark

Park
Nature & Parks
This multi-use park has a lake for boating activities, a large pool with waterslides, trails & golf.
What a beautiful park for locals. I took advantage of all the trails and put my feet in the lake. This is a place you can easily spend hours. Nice variety of people. There is a convenience store that sells ice cream, sunscreen, clothing.
Rain L — Google review
We were just here last week ( oct.2025) for our mini getaway and we love the place, you really have to pay entrance $10 to get in but once you're in there park is clean and wonderfully beautiful. They have mini beach and walkways and lots of picnic areas and playground for kids. Our first time and my daughter loved the place.

This place is amazing. I have been to the other metro Parks but this one is by far my favourite. Being on Lake St. Clair is gives me the illusion of being on a ocean. The beach is so big and sandy. There is a lot of space for everyone. I also enjoy the playground for the kids and also the splash pad and pool area. If you are looking for a park this is it! Do be aware that sometimes they do close the beach due to testing the water for e-colei. But most times it's clear.

Lake St. Clair Metropark in Harrison Township, Michigan, is a well-maintained destination offering a variety of activities for visitors. The park features clean restrooms and is pet-friendly, making it suitable for families and pet owners alike. Resting areas and picnic spots are available throughout the park, providing ample space for relaxation. The 600-foot sandy beach along Lake St. Clair is a highlight, offering scenic views and a pleasant environment for swimming and sunbathing. For sports enthusiasts, the park includes facilities for basketball, volleyball, tennis, and pickleball. An 18-hole par-3 golf course and a miniature golf course with waterfalls and rivers cater to both serious golfers and casual players. Bicycle trails, including a 3-mile paved Hike-Bike Trail with panoramic lake views, are also available for cyclists. Additional amenities include a nature center, marina, and various court game facilities. The park’s well-maintained environment and diverse offerings make it a recommended spot for a day of recreation and relaxation.

Absolutely fantastic beach area I was blown away. The nature center, nature trail (swampy, lot of bugs though!), beach and activities were simply beautiful, I had a great time and we’ll be back multiple times for sure
GLTheGameMaster ( — Google review
Great park with a nice mix of trails by the water and within the woods. Nature center trails have awesome bird watching opportunities.
Arthur H — Google review
I love the nature trails here but I unfortunately found out today people can hunt here as long as they’re in the water. I was watching a beautiful family of geese fly over from the boardwalk and then witnessed 2 being shot out the air. As someone who goes there for bird watching, this was shocking to see. At a bare minimum there should be signs making you aware the wildlife you’ve gone there to see may be shot in clear view. There’s an observation deck to view the wildlife and that’s exactly where they were hunting. Multiple groups of them, just shocking. I would avoid the Bay Area / boardwalk completely if this is something you don’t want to see, I wish I had known before going so I didn’t have to witness it myself.

The Mall at Partridge Creek

Shopping mall
Shopping
Relaxed, open-air shopping center featuring brand-name retailers, restaurants & a multiplex cinema.
I had a fantastic experience at the B12 Store in Partridge Creek. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain the benefits of their products, making me feel comfortable and informed. The store was clean, well-organized, and had a welcoming atmosphere. I appreciated the professional service and the quality of the supplements offered. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area and looking to boost your wellness routine!
Hanan J — Google review
I don’t really like going here, and im convinced most other residents of Clinton Township don’t like going here either, and you probably like it more because you aren’t from here. But now with Lakeside gone, this is like the only option and so now it’s 10% better than it was before. My complaints come largely from the fact that this is an outdoor mall in a state which should not have an outdoor mall. Coming to this mall in the winter or fall isn’t a very fun experience the way it is during the summer. I think it’s unnecessary to have an outdoor version of sommerset in what I call a “workers town” because, we are mostly working class residents that commute to surrounding cities. Very few of us actually afford to shop here regularly. Beautiful mall, I enjoy coming here to eat and go to the movies but that’s really about it. I suppose that’s the con when it comes to living in a township that props up big business and punishes the small ones that do exist here.
Christian P — Google review
Beautiful, and well kept. A unique mall experience. Highly recommend if you’re looking for year-round entertainment, great shopping and dining. Sola Salons is beautiful. A one stop shop for all of your hair/beauty needs. This mall is safe and secure 24/7.
Rahnda L — Google review
I love coming here. Always a calm vibe and plenty of variety of shops. I also love that the mall is dog friendly. Mostly a fashion mall, but there are some other cool stores here as well
Julie M — Google review
Very nice place for shopping! 🛍 Plus they have a few restaurants, and a movie theater for entertainment. Nice place to spend a day out with family or friends 🧡.

Great atmosphere! Pet friendly! Amazing atmosphere especially around Christmas. They are just lacking better stores. At lot of wasted space

Partridge Creek Mall is the most beautiful mall I’ve had the pleasure to shop, go to the movies and take in to excellent restaurants. I hope it lives forever for future generations to enjoy!

Emagine Macomb

Movie theater
Concerts & Shows
Theaters
Small multiscreen theater for new releases features roomy, reserved seats & alcoholic drinks.
I love the Emagine theaters! Best seating, epic sound system, lots of food options, great popcorn, and even a few games in the entryway. Not to mention the ghost piano in the bar that plays music all day. Great location for a movie!
Samantha K — Google review
First time here for the throwback of movie clue. Alot of staff standing around talking and took a minute to get my food i ordered but overall not bad. Seats recline, sound is decent. Loud movie next door you could hear during the quiet times of our movie.... but not bad. I'd check out the show times and come back sometime. If you are in the area I'd say stop in and check out the movies.
Jason B — Google review
Great movie theater, very classes for a movie spot . Pretty decent food selection. They also have a very nice sit down area with a piano and nice leather furniture. Only thing I didn't like was I couldn't get my hot food right away they said they would. Bring it to my seat in the theater. I never did get my food and had to get a refund after the movie was over .
Danny S — Google review
Emagine has always been my favorite movie theatre but this location in specific is great. It’s always clean and well kept. Absolutely love the comfy seats that have a heating option as well!! emagines food selection is so large and their popcorn is delicious
RP — Google review
I came here with my family for a movie, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst theater experiences I’ve had. When we arrived, I noticed a group of employees standing around the bar, talking with each other instead of helping guests. When I asked for a drink, I was met with a dirty look. After waiting, I asked someone directly for assistance, and was told they weren’t trained to serve drinks and were “just talking to friends.” The tone and attitude felt unprofessional and dismissive. I then asked to speak with a manager, but after waiting a considerable amount of time, no one ever came to address my concerns. For a family outing, I expect staff to be welcoming and attentive. Sadly, that was not the case here.
Chris L — Google review
Me and my friends are 14, and we came to this theater just to have a fun night out. Instead, we ended up getting kicked out for something that really didn’t feel fair at all. Before the movie started, we were talking quietly—nothing loud or disrespectful, just whispering like anyone would while waiting. A man sitting near us turned around and looked annoyed. Then he did it again, even though we weren’t even being loud. Once the movie started, we did get a warning from a staff member. After that, we took it seriously and stayed completely quiet. We didn’t talk, didn’t whisper—just sat and watched the movie like everyone else. We followed the rules and were being respectful. But even after we stopped talking, the same man kept turning around and staring at us like we were still doing something wrong. It felt like he just had a problem with us no matter what. Eventually, someone from the theater came back and told us we had to leave. We were confused and upset because we had listened to the warning and weren’t doing anything anymore. It didn’t matter—we still got kicked out because one guy kept complaining. Nobody else in the theater seemed to care or notice us at all. It was just that one man who kept reacting, and even though we had stopped talking completely, his complaints were still taken more seriously than the fact that we were actually behaving. It honestly felt like we were being treated unfairly just because we were a group of teens. We weren’t causing problems, we weren’t being loud, and we listened when we were told to be quiet. What else were we supposed to do? Getting kicked out like that in front of everyone was embarrassing, and it made us feel like we didn’t belong there—even though we paid for our tickets and followed the rules. This whole situation could’ve been avoided if the staff had taken a moment to see what was actually happening instead of just reacting to one person’s repeated complaints. We’re definitely not coming back to this theater. Nobody deserves to be treated like that, especially when they’re doing everything right.
Dany J — Google review
I recently visited Emagine Theaters for the first time after moving to the area, and the experience was unacceptable. Several staff members were on their phones instead of assisting guests, and one employee in the kitchen even appeared to be watching something on their device. When I went to order food at the concession stand, the person working the popcorn counter gave me a dirty look, as if I was inconveniencing them. The worst part was when I asked to speak with a manager. The employee at the bar literally told me, “the managers don’t have time to deal with this annoying customer.” Like… excuse me? To be called “annoying” just for asking to speak with a manager is beyond unprofessional—it’s flat-out disrespectful. My family and I recently moved here from Kansas, where we regularly went to AMC, and we were hoping Emagine could be our new theater of choice. Instead, our first visit was so negative that we left with the entire night ruined. Emagine, do better. If this is the standard of service you allow, we will be taking our business elsewhere. Another thing. Judging by the reviews I have read about this theater and the response. It basically just sounds like a copy and paste response from this location almost like an Bot. When an normal company would take the time to respond normal to the problems I received at Emagine Macomb.
Tom C — Google review
This used to be my favorite theatre because of it was well maintained and has all the nice perks. But over the past couple years, more so the past year. There's certain movies they don't show and if they do, they don't leave it up long enough. There's limited to no good variety/DIVERSE movies anymore. I had to switch to MJR.

SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium, located inside the Great Lakes Crossing Mall in Auburn Hills, is a popular family-friendly attraction featuring over 250 marine species. Visitors can explore various exhibits and even walk through an underwater Tropical Ocean Exhibit tunnel to see sharks and sea turtles up close. Additionally, the aquarium offers play areas for kids and group packages. Adjacent to the aquarium are other attractions such as the Rainforest Cafe, AMC theater, and LEGOLAND Discovery Center, providing a full day of entertainment for visitors.
Great aquarium. I'm 39 years old I crawled through the tunnels... Loved it.. I have been in fish keeping for 17 years now.. I have salt.. fresh and corals... And I will say I wasn't expecting much from this place . But instead I was pleasantly surprised everything I was healthy, clean and looked really well taken care of.. Deff a place to visit

For it being in a mall its oretty decent size. They have an area you can feel starfish and other creatures which is pretty cool. Then you can go around seeing all the different sea life exhibits they have which includes a nursery. My favorite was finding the ginormous eel that likes to hide. I absolutely recommend going its great for everyone but especially children.
Alexis K — Google review
Sea Life was a great experience!! So many different variety of fish to see. Its great for kids, especially the different little places for the kids to climb in so they can see some 9f the fish up close. We hade the behind the scenes tour and it was so informative.. Definitely go if you can!
Denise — Google review
We enjoy walking our littles through the aquarium. The play structure and various activities are pretty engaging too. We had fun trying to find all of the eels the last time we visited.
Amber F — Google review
This was my first time visiting SEA LIFE Aquarium, and it was such a nice experience. My nephew really enjoyed it, and I loved that they offered a touch pool where you could feel sea urchins, stingrays, and starfish. It's definitely a fun place for kids. I recommend adults buy tickets online the day before because it's cheaper instead of buying tickets the day of or buying in person.
Mia — Google review
We love this aquarium! We've been here about 4 times, most recently at the request of my 8 year old for her birthday. We love all of the creatures, but the sharks, turtles, stingrays, and of course NUGGET are our favorites! We really like the area where you can touch the starfish and anemone, and the jellyfish with the color changing light is another super fun thing for the kiddos. The gift shop also has lots of cool stuff. We love it here! 🐠🪸
Raechel U — Google review
Cool experience and the sea life appeared comfortable and interactive with visitors. A bit pricey however for how short the walk through is. Well maintained tanks and unique opportunity for those loving aquatic life.
Laura R — Google review
Such a cute experience and well worth the money; even my 16-year-old daughter loved it. The young lady who took the photos was so patient , and all the other staff was super sweet as well, which I liked a lot. Their tanks are so clean, and the fish literally try and interact with you. I look forward to going back again.

It's an enclosed space where you can enjoy window shopping and people-watching for free.
Great Lakes Crossing Outlets is a fantastic shopping destination that offers a wide variety of stores and experiences. During my recent visit, I was thoroughly impressed by the vast selection of retail options, ranging from popular brands to unique specialty shops. The layout of the outlets is very convenient, making it easy to navigate between stores and find exactly what you're looking for. One of my favorite stores was [Favorite Stores], where I found incredible deals and a friendly staff ready to assist. The entire atmosphere of the outlets is vibrant and lively, with plenty of dining options to take a break and refuel during your shopping spree. The customer service was exceptional, and the cleanliness of the facilities added to the overall pleasant experience. I would highly recommend Great Lakes Crossing Outlets to anyone looking for a comprehensive shopping experience. I rate this outlet mall [Rating Out of 5 Stars] stars out of 5 for its impressive selection, deals, and overall enjoyable environment. I can't wait for my next shopping trip here!

Amazing outlet mall!! Passing thru (NH resident here) brought my nephew to his 1st mall!! Got school clothes& shoes. Very impressed with the prices in multiple stores

While I was in the Detroit area, decided to visit this mall and was very pleasantly surprised. The mall has a large variety of different stores, many being discount outlets with good deals on their products. There was a large food court with a variety of restaurants and there are even some snack and food stores scattered throughout. Plenty of parking and very clean too. Seems to be a thriving mall and is great compared to others these days.

Wow!! This mall is very much thriving and packed full of great stores! This mall is what every mall in America should strive to be. The mall is very modern and architecturally fascinating inside, has a huge food court with a carousel, and the layout is very easy to follow along to see all the stores. We walked the entire mall and stopped into many stores, I dont think I saw any empty storefronts and if I did it wasn't many at all. Every mall store you expect to see is located here, and more! There were lots of stores I haven't heard of before and they were all very clean, bright, and modern. Nothing was run down here, way to go!! Highly recommend shopping here, especially since its full of outlet stores where deals can be had!

Visited this outlet mall recently and was pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of stores and solid discounts. From big-name brands to smaller specialty shops, there’s something for everyone.

Great outlet mall, has the best stores very big and just out right amazing. Loved all the things to do for the family while still having amazing shopping options for everyone. Food choices were pretty good from what I can see but didn't eat there to give a true review. Will I go back, absolutely and live almost 4 hours away.

This mall was the biggest mall I’ve been to yet! There were so many different stores, restaurants, and other places to visit! Me and my family went to Sea Life, and it was an experience we’ll never forget!

Great Lakes Crossing Outlets stores are not all bargains but you can definitely cash in on great deals. The food court was not good at least Popeye chicken was horrible and they didn't really speak English so they didn't honor their own coupon.

This was a very nice campground and beach area. Clean and well maintained. The camp store has a lot of stuff in case you forgot anything! Highly recommend for camping or even a day trip to the beach!

Beautiful, well-maintained campground. We spent two nights camping in the smaller loop campground. Dog-friendly, quiet and the roads were in very good condition. The bathroom/shower area is very old/outdated and the "hot" water for showers (taken in the later evening) was not to be found. The camp store is a nice plus. The hiking trails were excellent. We wish there was a spot at the lake where our dog was able to swim (if there was, we did not find it). Overall, very enjoyable.

I have been coming here for the past 30 years... since I was a kid. my brother and me grew up riding our bikes around and running through the trails. Now I take my family here and it is just so peaceful. I do wish they would check the bathrooms since other people don't clean up their own messes...but still one of the nicest kept.

Great place to camp w little traffic. There are camp sites right on the lake that allowed campers to tie up a fishing boat easily near. There is a camp store that probably has evey you forgot to bring. Including hand scooped ice cream. The beach is on the opposite side from camping so we had to drive around but it could be an easy bike ride if you'd like.

36 years going here. Last weekend was my last. DNR is more worried about a handicap man fishing, not bothering anyone. Then the drugs, yelling, music so loud i can't sleep. Fishing is part of camping. Cars parked in road couldn't get camper down the road. The lake has just turned into a nightmare with weeds. Can't even float on the water as weeds stop you. The bathroom is not cleaned. There is no place for a handicap person to sit in a shower. Filling up a camper 1.9 gpm is the worst. The water system was not updated as that has been pressure for years. The fill station is so small i couldn't get out without hitting the curb. Poor design. How do you put brand new black top and not level it on an ada site? The list goes on. Our tax dollars wasted, and employees are running people away.

it was a very nice camping trip.. little crowded but was very nice.took a hiking trip, went to the beach,, didn't swim, water don't get tested so I wasn't feeling safe going in.. other than that it was very nice

We spent a weekend, Thursday through Sunday, camping at Metamora-Hadley Recreation Area with our family and had a very enjoyable experience. We used a 30 amp site with a two vehicle limit, which suited our needs well. The campsites are family-friendly and accommodate biking activities for children. The beach was pleasant, with a sandy surface over a firm bottom, and featured a mobi mat near the center for enhanced accessibility. Fishing was excellent. Park staff and DNR personnel were present throughout the weekend but did not intrude on our experience.

Park West Gallery

Art gallery
Shopping
Art museum
Show, sale & auction art gallery in a Greco-Roman space displays contemporary & established works.
I recently attended an event at Park West Gallery, and I was completely mesmerized by the stunning artwork that took center stage. This gallery is truly a hidden gem! I had no idea such an incredible place existed until now. The museum is expansive and houses the largest collection of art I’ve ever seen under one roof. Every corner was breathtaking, with pieces that spoke to the heart and soul. It’s a paradise for any art lover. The venue itself was the perfect spot for the event, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication to the entire experience. Every piece was beautifully preserved and thoughtfully displayed, making it a paradise for art lovers. There’s so much to admire that it’s impossible to take it all in during one visit—you’ll definitely want to come back. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, enhancing the overall experience. I appreciated the secure gate at the entrance and the convenience of leaving jackets at the front. The entire space was impeccably clean and well-maintained, which added to the gallery’s charm. Practical details like parking were well thought out too, plenty of space and very convenient. I’m already planning to bring an art-loving friend back here to explore and enjoy this incredible space. Park West Gallery is not just a museum but an experience that stays with you. Highly recommended!

Just returned from a VIP event at the Grove Park Inn. What a phenomenal weekend. The art, artists, and entire Park West team were the best. The event was fun, educational, and more than I could ask for! I can’t wait to hopefully have the opportunity to go again. We even got a visit from a mama bear and her cub as we left. Thank you Park West for an exceptional experience.

I love Park West Gallery. We first were introduced to this company on a cruise ship. We participated in an auction and bought some very reasonably priced art. We were then invited to a VIP event which was fabulous. We purchased more art that we absolutely love. We have subsequently participated in an online auction. We had a ton of fun and got some great deals on some absolutely stunning artwork. The customer service has been exemplary. All of our artwork has been shipped within a reasonable timeframe and has been in perfect condition. The artwork is exactly as described. The reproductions were clearly sold as reproduction, and the original art clearly sold as original and unique art. There were no high pressure sales, and I learned a great deal about new artists that I never would have discovered had I not participated in the educational sessions during the VIP event. if you are looking for high-quality art to make your home look beautiful then I would highly recommend working with Park West Gallery. I am by no means under any assumptions that I am purchasing artwork that is going to drastically increase in price or be a long-term investment. If you are purchasing art from Park West gallery with that assumption then I do not think you are purchasing for the right reasons. If you want to purchase the art because you think it’s beautiful and it’s going to make you happy then this is a company that will help you accomplish that goal.

I could not be more displeased with this company! I commissioned a painting from Michael Goddard, I understood when I purchased this painting that it was coming in a certain frame. But when I received my artwork the frame was broken in all four corners and come to find out it was a extremely cheap plastic framing, along with only a piece of plexiglass. I tried to get the company to help me reconcile my framing issue, my only options were to have them send me the exact same cheap frame take it to a local framer and have them reframe it but they would only reimburse me up to $100! Or they would send me a FedEx label to send the painting back to them they would reframe it and send it back to me. When I asked if I could purchase a new frame they said it would cost me at least $799! This company had invited me on an all-paid trip to Asheville North Carolina to see more of the artist work that did this painting for me. I canceled the trip and I absolutely refused to ever do business with part Gallery West again. Not one person from that company has called me in regards to my disappointment and have certainly let them know how disappointed I am with their company. I went to reframe the painting myself when I did I found out that their company had actually taped my painting to the backboard, the framer was afraid to remove the tape because it might destroy the painting. I cannot believe that this is the type of product they are producing for Michael Goddard! Never again Park Gallery West! The first picture is the new framing the rest of the pictures are of the cheap plastic framing and the damage.

Edited to let everyone know that their reply below with any email to contact means nothing as they just wouldn't reply to your email! If I could give zero stars I would. I purchased a very expensive painting from a Park West art auction on a cruise, which was supposed to include several free prints and EU shipping to avoid taxes and fees. None of that turned out to be true. I was hit with unexpected customs charges and spent weeks dealing with FedEx because of incorrect paperwork Park West provided. The free prints, which were promised as part of the same shipment, were sent separately with errors in the documentation, and they ended up being confiscated. I’ve spent countless hours emailing FedEx and Park West, and Park West’s customer service has been utterly useless. Emails go ignored, staff don’t seem to read what you’ve written, and basic requests are either misunderstood or ignored entirely. For a company dealing in high-value artwork, their aftercare is shockingly bad. What should have been a joyful experience purchasing my first major art piece has become a stressful, drawn-out ordeal. I would strongly advise others not to purchase from Park West

I've bought several pieces of artwork by Michael Cheval and their amazing. Plus, they'll finance the artwork. Their framing department is First Rate. Give them a shout if you wish to invest in artwork.

I had the opportunity to enjoy several activities of Park West Gallery on the Celebrity / Constellations cruise. I liked them. Tao was very friendly and professional. I loved his presentation at the Salvador Dali exhibition. Thank you, Tao. Keep shining. 😊

This company is unethical and has deceptive practices. Beware. Was told I was getting an original, which was not the case. Was later informed the artist would be preparing a piece for me that would slightly differ from what I purchased. Was later informed that it would possibly take longer than the 12 weeks they indicated for shipping and delivery. Nothing about my experience with PWG has been positive. Not to mention, they are horrible with follow up. Thanks for your quick reply. However, you’re not going to take the appropriate action necessary. Your senior reps are the ones I reached out to initially and they never replied until I disputed the credit card. Again, poor business practices, and what is being offered is not acceptable.

Pine Knob Music Theatre

Amphitheater featuring a 15,000-seat pavilion with lawn seating, expansive beer garden & BBQ eatery.
Great place for an outdoor concert! The staff is always fantastic, professional, helpful and attentive. We have attended several concerts here and always have a great time before, during and after the events. Several locations for drinks, food and show memorabilia. Nice big venue with plenty of restrooms close to the seating. They do an awesome job of getting cars in and out in a timely manner. No complaints, definitely recommend Pine Knob for quality entertainment!
Rob V — Google review
Drove 3 hours to Pine Knob to see Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin here. For whatever reason, the tickets we bought from ticketmaster showed the show starting at 02:30pm. And the main reader board along the road also showed 02:30pm. So we showed up at 02:15pm only to find out the show didnt start until 07:00pm for the opener. 4.5 HOURS LATER. And they do not allow you to leave and go back to your vehicle once you enter. There were thousands of us sitting around anywhere we could just to pass the time. We heard many people complaining while we sat around because their tickets were exactly the same. The show itself? Phenomenal. One of the best I've seen. Our view was great, the sound was great, and the seat was decently padded when we were sitting. The food overall is expensive, about $15 for a beer, $15 for chicken tenders and fries, and $10 for a Little Caesars slice.

I’ve been here twice and it’s def my favourite concert venue I’ve been to. Parking is included and fairly efficient getting in/out. Lots of amenities and areas to hang out. Prices are outrageous for drinks and food but you can bring a sealed/clear water bottle that you can refill if you want to save money there (would be nice if they had an actual water refill station rather than just a water fountain). Bathrooms have always been pretty clean. I’ve only sat under the pavilion but I found the sound and view to be great for the price.

Recently went and saw Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin here, we had great seats in the band shell! But all around this venue is absolutely beautiful!!! It was the first time I had ever been there, and I just loved evey5hing about it. There's beverage and food options everywhere, I love that they have people walking around selling cold beverages, and to be honest the prices weren't THAT bad. I loved the venue and the show! I cant wait to see another show here soon!

Great venue. Lots of vendors for food and drink. And not super expensive. 😉 Sound was clear and not excessively loud. Lawn area was comfortable with great stage visibility. Pay attention to entry rules before going and smooth sailing. Bring that one bottle of water per person. It's 6 bucks there.

Wonderful spot hidden in thre middle of know where! Easy access getting into venue. Parking was free and easy. Bathrooms were clean and no line!!!!! Hill seating/standing was perfect spot. Could use more screens to help with better viewing of concerts in grass area....only had 3 screens and really not large enough.
Kelly E — Google review
The best venue to watch a concert! Parking lot is great for tailgating. Not a bad seat in the place. But my favorite is how fast they move the traffic out ! 3 lanes of continuous movement means you are out of the place honestly within 10 minutes!
Sheryl B — Google review
First time I have been here to see a concert and I read reviews about how to park at the end of a row to get out quickly, get there somewhat early as well and I was glad I listened to that. The seats we had were at the very top for pantera but were great seats and we had a great view. Huge drawback were the prices for food and alcoholic drinks. They wanted $22 dollars for a frozen drink, $6 for a basic bottle of water, $7 for a small bag of popcorn that is not even popped fresh. Plan to eat before you get into the venue unless you don't mind spending a fortune on food and drinks. Also if you want concert tee shirts look for the guys walking the parking lot and selling shirts for $20 instead of $40 at the tee shirt stand. All in all good experience.

Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum is a delightful gem that combines the charm of an arcade with the nostalgia of a museum. Opened in 1990, this snug space showcases an impressive collection of vintage coin-operated machines dating back to 1960. Visitors can enjoy everything from modern arcade games to retro fortune-tellers, all while collecting physical tickets for their gameplay. The atmosphere is vibrant and bustling, especially on weekends when families flock to experience its unique offerings.
I wish there was a 10 stars 🌟 This is one of the greatest attractions in the entire Midwest! I've been coming here my entire life. From brand new pinball games to antique automatons! It's truly incredible. Great for kids, adults, birthday parties and fantastic for a date night! You can't go wrong with a visit to Marvin's! Great popcorn and stack up your tickets to get a fun prize!

It was a really fun place! Me and my mom went here for a day trip last summer. It was one of the most fun days I've ever had. There is so much to do, cool prises, fortunate telling, arcade games, and much more! 10/10, would recommend

Eclectic, fascinating, pocket book friendly, and fun for EVERYONE! We spent 4 hours taking it all in. It's an antique enthusiast dream, so much to see! Great mix of retro/modern games and a snack bar! Even the prize station was good! We can't wait to come back!!

We traveled up from Nashville to visit Marvin's. Such a cool eclectic collection of vintage games, animatronics, signs, oddities, etc. I could spend hours there. Most games are either 25 or 50 cents to play. How cool is that? Very!! There are no words or photos that could share the coolness of Marvin's.

Great arcade with the twist of also being a museum. All the machines are coin operated with physical tickets, excellent for nostalgia. The luck struck us a few times with jackpots and bonuses, but also with malfunctioning machines. Employees were quick to fix the ones they could and make it right. Tons of machines, and a bit cramped. Glad I didn’t need any of my mobility aids or else it may have been tricky to move around. Wish the redemption center had a better exchange rate or a few more adult aimed items. We still had fun though and can’t wait to come back when it’s in the new location.

This place is awesome!! You can go in for free and look at all the vintage and newer games, exhibits and concession stand. All classic games are still only a quarter!! Pinball is $1 a game but this place is worth stopping by and I hope they don't tear it down. I'm so glad I went and you should too!!
Melissa M — Google review
Very unique to say the least. We didn’t realize it was a fully functioning arcade but very cool. We saw games from as early as 1930’s from all over the world. I wish there was some literature or QR codes giving more info.

A wonderful little place full of wholesome/vintage arcade games for all levels and ages, including classics like Dance Dance Revolution and Guitar Hero! There are so many oddities and fun things to see. It definitely feels like a relic from time gone by, but I can see why the locals love it for sure. If I lived here, I would be there every weekend playing the drum game! I got zero tickets, but I didn't want to leave.

The Zekelman Holocaust Center

Sobering museum featuring a WWII-era boxcar & other local & global stories of the Nazi regime.
One of the best in person educational experiences for retaining and learning the history of the holocaust so much visual and authentic historical videos and writings from families and survivors. State of the art facility, handicap accessible. I got a picture of an actual rail car used to transport Jews from the ghetto to other places. Reference size I'm 6 foot and the car would be packed with up to 100 people at a time.

I haven't been to this museum since grade school, and some aspects are just as I remember them. This is an invaluable experience for anyone who has an interest in WWII and The Holocaust, also for anyone who had families that lived through it, or lost loved ones. The artifacts and exhibits are humbling and devastating, but the spirit of perseverance carries through. It happened before, it is our responsibility to make sure it never happens again.

The staff is knowledgeable, patient and kind. It offers unique opportunities to hear survivors or the children of survivors speak and answer questions. It is an excellent place to learn and reflect.

Quite an eye opening experience on the holocaust. We liked all the details that were on display. I think the lights could have been better placed so as to eliminate reflection on the wall artifacts. Additionally, the font colors and sizes made the texts a bit difficult to read due to dim lighting.

Jim W — Google review
My wife & I went visit here in 2017. From we the beginning we had an kind of idea of what to expect, yet we weren't quite sure what to expect. But upon entering we soon realized this wasn't just an average museum. One of the first things you see as you walk in is one of the actual rail cars used in the transport of thousands to their final destination. The whole place is fascinating, educational, yet very sombering. The items on display were from both sides in story line fashion from the time it began, to end, & how things have progressed since. A picture frame display of an actual tree like the one Ann Frank seen upon her last days is seen at the Museum. The tree is from a seed that came from the tree that provided her the only view of the world outside. The highlight of the trip was story telling from an actual survivor of the Holocaust. He did a very good job, drawing the audience in, as he explained the real story of how his life was during the early years of his life. Folks you can't get more real then that. If you get a chance to hear one of these stories from these folks who lived it I would HIGHLY recommend attending as their numbers are dwindling. The only thing that was very disheartening that was seen, & over heard was from some of the other visitors themselves. Youth groups, & young people in general that displayed a lack of interest in history, & showed a lack respect to those that have come before, & the elder adults with them weren't that much better. Very sad to see. Apparently there's still a battle going on. My only hope is that the battle with the Jewish people, & the unfair treatment of them will one day end.

We started building an HO scale railroad layout and thought it might be a good idea to do some research on railroads and older buildings. So off we went to Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad in Genesee County. We purchased our tickets in advance on line. Before entering we walked by 2 beautiful gardens. One was a Monarch way station and the other was by Michigan State University Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Program. The day we went was the 43rd Annual Railfans weekend. What a fun place to visit 😃. All of the people working there were very friendly and helpful. We walked around and looked inside many of the buildings and were able to obtain lots of information for the model train layout. We also did a scavenger hunt and a little village tour. There were model railroad layout presented by several model railroad clubs. If you get an opportunity to visit, do it! We plan on going back and spending more time in the village and will definitely be taking another train ride on Engine #152.

I had a lot of fun here at Crossroads. It was cool and interesting to see all the different shops and exhibits scattered around the place. I espicaly enjoyed the school and the sawmill so I would definitely advise going there. In general, I found it really cool to explore some of the methods of doing things in the past that are just completely different nowadays.

The town is cute, but let’s be honest, we came for the train ride. We arrived over an hour early to get the caboose for the kids and were told the limit was 10 to 11 people. We even split our group so they could have that magical experience. But the conductor added 12 extra people, cramming the caboose so full that kids were sitting on the floor and standing while the train was moving. It didn’t feel safe, and it definitely wasn’t special anymore. The magic, the joy, and the excitement we came for were completely taken away. Our kids were heartbroken while the conductor focused only on the people he added. What’s the point of giving out caboose passes if they don’t mean anything? The magic was gone the moment that train left the station.

Beautiful place. If you live history this is the place. Every single place inside has a lot of tell you, you will find a host waiting in each one and in a very kind way, They will give you a lot of details of everything there, the older that is the person the better that si the story and kindness. My favorites places were the barber shop, the school, lumber, doctor’s office … anyways you need to see by yourself everything there. People extremely kind.

I love this movie theater! It's great for going with friends or family, or just hanging out. One of the things I like most is that it has reclining seats that you can lie down in, making it perfect for a relaxed and comfortable movie experience. The screen and sound quality are also excellent, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the film. Plus, the atmosphere is cozy and modern, making it an ideal spot for a night out with loved ones. Definitely one of my favorite movie theaters!

Caught a Monday matinee showing of the new Superman movie in IMAX at NCG Cinema in Grand Blanc, and overall it was a great experience. The theater was very clean and pleasantly quiet—definitely a perk of seeing an early-week movie. The popcorn was fresh (no stale kernels here), and the ICEE machines were working perfectly, which isn’t always a given these days. The staff seemed on top of their game, and everything felt well-maintained. That said, the cost is getting steep. One ticket, a small popcorn, and a large ICEE ran me about $30. It’s a bit of a hit to the wallet for a solo movie trip, even for a matinee. The film itself was solid—great visuals and action—and the IMAX screen really did it justice. Between the spotless theater and the quality snacks, I left feeling like it was worth the outing, but definitely something I’ll treat as an occasional splurge.

overall, a nice place. employees are nice, not so much when it comes to other customers. popcorn is always good and i like that they have butter machines that you can add more if you would like.

It's a nice theater. But they need more staff at the ticket counter. The staff was friendly. Could be kept cleaner around the beverage table, but it wasn't anything horrible. Seating isn't the most comfortable, but there is plenty of it. And it's nice that the arm of the chair can be put up.

The best movie theater in the area. We saw an IMAX movie here, and they did a great job making the entrance more grand than ever before. By this, I mean that they significantly improved the look of the entrance to the IMAX theater. The staff is always friendly, the theaters are nice, and the restrooms are always clean.

Military Museums
The Michigan Heroes Museum, established in 1987, is located in Frankenmuth and is dedicated to honoring the military and space heroes of Michigan. The museum showcases individual displays for celebrated heroes and astronauts who have represented the state in space exploration. It also pays homage to the Polar Bears, a group of soldiers sent to combat with the Bolshevik Red Army in Russia during 1918-1919.
Went here many years ago, and I wish i was a local guide sooner; so I could have given this review and posted the pictures then. For starters, this is not a huge museum, but it is filled with memorabilia from several wars. And helps tell the story of my veteran that came from Michigan. As well as astronauts. I would highly recommend this to anyone In the area! Frankenmuth Michigan as a whole was just a really neat place!

This place is a hidden gem of frankenmuth. We traveled here with a group of high schoolers on a field trip to film them for an upcoming documentary, and we were all extremely impressed. On display where artifacts, pictures, and most importantly stories of Michiganders, who fought in wars from our nations history. The tour guides there were extremely knowledgeable, and the array of items on display are very cool. In fact, they have an entire display of German and Japanese artifacts which were confiscated by World War II veterans. I highly a recommend spending time here. It’s off the beaten path of the main downtown area, but whether you’re a war buff or not, you will find it, inspiring and informative.

An outstanding venue to cover the military heroes of all the services...for the state of Michigan. Descriptive and informative presentations. Worth the visit. Engaging and informative docents.

Great place to learn about the Michigan military. Presented very well. Guide is very knowledgeable, and you can tell he enjoys his job.

The young man there that runs the place was very knowledgeable and available for questions. Museum is well kept and interesting. Pay attention to the top of the shelves!

This was very cool! Our boys are all in WWII right now and this place honored all who served from MI in all wars and space. Mark, who was working today was very knowledgeable and he had a scavenger hunt the boys could do which made them look through and at everything multiple times trying to find their objects on their sheets. It helped them to stop and really appreciate everything while learning new cool things about history and humbling them for own fallen soldiers. I recommend this place!

Absolutely fantastic hidden Michigan gem! This museum has an amazing collection of military history, Michigan soldiers' stories, and artifacts and memorabilia. For me it's an absolutely essential stop on a Frankenmuth visit, and well worth a trip on its own merit! The staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and the museum itself is well organized and well cared for. A fantastic place for researching a school project, brushing up on military history, or just spending a day learning more about the amazing things people from Michigan have accomplished.
Heather C — Google review
Absolutely wonderful, informative and interesting museum. The staff told us about many of the displays and we didn't even have a tour scheduled. I would highly recommend this as a stop if you are in the area. There is displays for many various past and present wars and we learned about the Polar Bears unit. They also have Bingo cards available for young children to search for objects as they go through the museum.

Frankenmuth River Place Shops is a charming shopping center designed to resemble a traditional Bavarian village. With over 40 unique storefronts, visitors can explore the Alpine-inspired architecture and enjoy activities like old-time photos, gourmet cupcakes, and wine tastings at Modern Craft Winery. The shops offer a variety of experiences for families to enjoy while immersing themselves in Frankenmuth's European village theme.
This is a great place to stop and get a small taste of Bavarian culture. There is a covered bridge here which you can walk or drive over. There was also a restaurant near the lodge and the food there is INCREDIBLE! They can serve it in courses or you can get some of it All You Can Eat. Almost everyone has to take a to-go box with them when they leave

The city is charming, beautiful, and magical, with an atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in a dream. There are events and activities for all tastes and ages, making it ideal to visit with family or friends. The views are breathtaking, the strolls are pleasant, and the journey feels like you're inside a movie. The city has a special charm that makes you want to come back again and again.

Enjoyed a delicious fried chicken dinner. Came with all the sides of course. The coleslaw was tangy and delicious. The gravy, amazing. All the cheeses and breads and cottage cheese hit the spot. I’ve listed the menu here with the prices. It’s not for everyone. There’s is a lot of shopping in the walking area around the two main restaurants that serve the all you can eat chicken dinners. Great hotels to spend the night. Water park attached to the hotel. I’ve stayed in the past. Very nice and fun. Overall great for a weekend getaway or an afternoon.

I absolutely love the Frankenmuth River Shops! I make it a point to visit at least once a year, and each time is a delightful experience. This year, I'm especially excited for our trip; it’s the perfect small getaway for the family, filled with charm and activities to enjoy together. The atmosphere at the River Shops is incredibly inviting, set within the enchanting Bavarian-style town of Frankenmuth. Strolling along the picturesque pathways lined with vibrant shops is a joy in itself. There’s a fantastic variety of stores, each offering unique items, from handmade crafts to stylish clothing and local artwork. I always find something special to take home! If you're looking to indulge, the array of treats is impressive. From delectable fudge and homemade ice cream to gourmet popcorn and artisanal chocolates, there’s something to satisfy every sweet tooth. The flavors are rich and wonderful, making it hard to choose just one! What I love most is that Frankenmuth caters to both families and couples. Whether you’re enjoying quality time with your kids or seeking a romantic escape with your spouse, there’s no shortage of activities. You can explore quaint cafes, indulge in wine tastings, or relax by the river and take in the beautiful scenery. Prices at the shops are comparable to what you’d expect in a popular vacation town, but the quality and experience are well worth it. Frankenmuth River Shops consistently deliver joy, relaxation, and a sense of community that keeps us coming back year after year. Without a doubt, this place deserves a five-star rating!

20250711 A very dogfriendly shopping area with Bavarian theme. Some of the stores like the jerky shop and hot pepper shop can be found in other shipping centers. I came here specifically for cherry republic. I did find something in the cats and dogs shop. Otherwise, I pretty much enjoyed the Bavarian storefront. I wish this was similar to the Nelis' Dutch Village with German merchandise and German feel to it.

Located in the heart of downtown Flint, the Flint Farmers' Market has a rich history dating back to the early 1900s. With over fifty local vendors offering a diverse range of goods including arts and crafts, baked goods, fruits and vegetables, dairy products, meat and seafood, herbs and spices, beer and wine, flowers and plants. The market is also a popular venue for community events such as yoga sessions, festivals, concerts and entertainment.
Fresh food, local art, and small business love. Each stall is unique, the food has heart, and everything is so affordable! A festival of Flint but indoors.

Went to Sweet Peaces for some vegan eats. Had the lentil soup and the vegan snickers! They were both amazing! The woman who helped us - great customer service! The rest of the Market was busy, and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. Many of the kiosk-keepers made eye contact and greeted us as we passed by. A very welcoming experience for us 'out-of-towners'.

Birch Run Premium Outlets is the largest outlet mall in the Midwest, offering a wide variety of stores including The North Face, Adidas, Aerie, and more. It's a great place for families with its family-friendly atmosphere and over 100 stores to explore. Visitors can find everything from apparel to cosmetics and even specialty items like barbecue sauces and hot sauces. Whether you're shopping for specific brands or just browsing around, Birch Run Premium Outlets has something for everyone at good prices.
My wife and I have found our way to the Birch Run Outlets for over 25 years now. You can find some great bargains if you have the time to look. Men, you won't be board because there's a lot for us too. A nice change I've seen over the years. One nice change is more 2nd hand and antique places to shop. One of my favorites is Flashback Vintage, you need to check them out.
Bill B — Google review
This outlet mall has the potential to be a top-tier shopping destination—if more stores were added and closures were minimized. Its location is ideal, situated right off Interstate 75, making it a perfect stop for travelers looking to take a break, shop, and enjoy their journey. The surrounding area already offers excellent amenities, including a variety of restaurants and nearby hotels, making it convenient for overnight stays. As someone who frequently travels, I often look for outlet malls to stretch my legs, find great deals, grab a meal, and even spend the night. I genuinely enjoy the stores currently at this mall, but expanding the selection would significantly enhance the experience—not just for me, but for countless others traveling this major corridor. With just a few strategic additions, this outlet mall could truly thrive and become a must-visit stop along I-75. Please consider investing in its growth. The potential is already here—it just needs to be unlocked.
Jb F — Google review
Lots of choices all in one area. Good place to get your excercise in while you shop. Most stores are walkable down the main sidewalk with crossing the parking lot. Some you will need to drive to next set of buildings over. This is a place you could easily spend the entire day.
R.A. M — Google review
This place is going downhill fast. We come here every year and each time we come here, it takes us less and less time to go through it. They no longer have a Spirit Halloween or Coleman store. The book store and retro store that were here are gone as well. I believe the Bose store is also gone. The only stores left are the Pepperidge farms and Sleeping Tiger as unique stores. Otherwise they have some other basic stores left that other outlet malls have like Nike, Under Amour, and Sketchers. So much of this mall has just been replaced with basic, boring, and very common stores. Not to mention one entire section has been replaced by a Goodwill, antique stores, and a small market. Who is going to a "premium" outlet mall for that? We spent only about an hour here this last time we were there, compared to previous years, we spent half a day here. It's still worth going for some of the unique stores but that's it. I would only recommend going on the way to Frankenmuth but absolutely not as a solo trip unless you are super into expensive clothes.

Kensington Metropark is a sprawling green oasis that offers an array of outdoor activities for nature lovers and families alike. With two inviting beaches, a well-maintained golf course, and a nature center featuring engaging exhibits and guided hikes, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The trails surrounding the nature center are particularly delightful; you might even find birds eating from your hand! These scenic paths are perfect for family hikes, complete with benches and informative signs along the way.
We live 50 minutes away but we LOVE this park! It’s $10 for a day pass. The water slides and splash pad is $7 per person for all day. The Swan paddle boat rental is $17 for an hour. And, feeding the birds and chipmunks from your hand is free! Just bring bird seed and nuts. We also love visiting the farm and their maple program is really interesting and fun! We’ve never been in the winter but they do have a sledding hill.

Very peaceful! The bathroom and shower area is clean. You will see staff throughout that goes over and beyond keep the area clean. Splash pad was really nice our family loves it. Food court reasonably priced and food tastes good too. Few trails for to walk/bike off the food. They even have bike rentals. We set in the parking lot and had a picnic so we had lots of fun.

Beautiful park with so much to do. We love the little farm and all the different playgrounds. Can't wait for the weather to warm up so we can check out the beach and splash pad. Great place to take family pictures too.
Paige T — Google review
Nice park, but I am very annoyed with how fast people drive through here. They tailgate you in 25mph zones and zoom around like they own the place. Unfortunately, this place has a shortage of police officers. I know this problem can be fixed if they were able to hire more bodies.
S G — Google review
Excellent metropark! I grew up in Milford so I know this one well. Tons of amazing walking/biking lanes and trails, lots of good fishing areas, and there's no lack of excellent picnic spots. The nature center is great. Make sure to say hi to Ranger the falcon while there! He's just the best. The farm area is awesome as well. Seeing all the animals is a blast. Sometimes they'll be out to pasture though so be prepared to have some unavailable for viewing haha. Autumn is a glorious time to visit. The colors that you'll see throughout the park are insane. Nice to just kayak out and fish, lay back and enjoy the scenery. Have fun!

Kensington Metropark is a fantastic place to spend the day with friends and family! The beach is clean and enjoyable, perfect for cooling off on a sunny day. Kids will absolutely love the splash pad—it’s fun, safe, and very well-kept. Just note that there’s a small entry fee for both kids and adults at the splash area. Boating is another highlight here. Whether you’re into kayaking, paddle boating, or just enjoying the views from the water, it’s a relaxing experience. The park charges a $10 entrance fee per vehicle, which is very reasonable considering the facilities and scenery. The restrooms are well maintained and clean, which is always a big plus. Overall, it’s a great spot for picnics, outdoor activities, and simply spending quality time outdoors. Highly recommend for a day trip or weekend outing!

Spicer Orchards Farm Market, Cider Mill, Fudge, Bakery

Cider mill
Fun & Games
Family-run farm with pick-your-own apples, hay wagon rides & a huge corn maze, plus a winery.
Stopped by for tart cherries picking. Didn't have time for anything else due to early closing time in my opinion, 7 pm. But it's what it is, owner knows best. Make sure to bring a hat and sunscreen if you are here on a sunny day for berry picking. Store is amazing too, lots of goodies or tasty items to choose from! The best farm in the area!
Nina T — Google review
We had a great time apple picking at Spicer’s! Lots of fun activities for the kids, good cider and the best donuts ever! The orchard trees are all short which allowed even our 4 year old to enjoy picking.
Greg F — Google review
I had such a fantastic experience at this apple orchard! From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. Everyone was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed for a great visit. The prices are very reasonable — much better than other orchards I've been to. Whether you're picking your own apples or buying them from their market, you definitely get great value for your money. They do a wristband system for pick your own, one person free and then $5 per person after. When you finish picking they weigh your berries and it’s $3.95 per pound. The absolute highlight of our visit were the fresh, hot donuts and cold Apple cider! They had options to please everyone’s sweet tooth whether you want a classic cinnamon sugar, powered sugar or just plain. They even had glazed strawberry donuts during strawberry season. Great prices and helpful staff, we purchased a half gallon of cider for for $8.95 and a dozen donuts for $12.95. What really stood out was how knowledgeable and helpful the staff were. They gave us great tips on the best apple varieties for baking versus snacking, we were even given an apple to try when we couldn’t make up our minds on what to get. You can tell they love what they do and want to make sure every guest leaves happy. Highly recommend this orchard for families, couples, or anyone looking for a fun and affordable day outdoors. We’ll definitely be coming back in the fall!

They have 4 different tastes 🍩. Actually you can get half dozen bags or you can ask custom orders like me. I loved cinnamon one the best. And also plain one was very crispy I loved it!!!
A A — Google review
DISAPPOINTING AND RUDE STAFF Prices are kind of high on a bunch of stuff, especially their fresh baked apples. They want $18.95 for a small bag. Not a 5 lb bag or anything like that. Like a 2 lb bag of apples so that's a first turn off Very overpriced on everything We get to the donuts and the donuts smell really good. They look really good. They're fairly priced-ish. I will say just for a very small strawberry donut you know $6 for a half dozen 1295 for a dozen. Something like that. The donuts do not have any flavor at all. They are just like eating paper I got a six pack of strawberry donuts and a six pack of defrosted strawberry donuts. The frosted ones are pretty good but all you can taste is the frosting. There is no strawberry flavor at all The regular unfrosted strawberry donuts have literally no flavor at all. There's no strawberry. There's no donut flavor. They're not sweet. They're just paper dough . Not one person said anything to us walking into the store or by the donut area. We got to the ice cream area. Once again nobody we went to the fudge area once again. Nobody around one employee came walking by didn't even acknowledge us We got to the barbecue sausage and stuff like that and I had to ask a lady at the front. Does the barbecue sauces have mustard because I am highly allergic to mustard on their ingredients list. All they have is some of the ingredients and then a category of spices, which in most cases means they use mustard But when you ask somebody they have no clue. So she basically told me in her opinion she would not buy any because it could have mustard in it because they don't specifically say it does or not So when you're told by an employee not to buy something then you just don't so I avoided that We asked that same employee did it cost anything to go pick strawberries She said no. You paid $2 for a cardboard box you go out you pick the strawberries and you come back and they weigh the strawberries and you pay them then We go out. I use a cane and a walker to get around and I tell you what if you are disabled or have a hard time walking or getting around in rough terrain. Avoid this it's hard for disabled people to do We get up to the front to pay and we are charged $5 for the wristbands that we were not told about. We were told they were free $2 for the box and $4 a pound for the strawberries which we were told about the $2 box and the $4 a pound for strawberries but not told about the $5 for the wristbands we were told they were free We go over to the winery and I will tell you this. I will never walk back into that winery again. Customer service was non- existent we were not greeted. We were completely ignored There were two gentlemen at the bar who apparently had been drinking for a while. There were two ladies at the other end of the bar who had like 10 bottles of wine and the one customer service lady there stuck with them the whole time. She did not check on anybody else. She didn't say anything to us until about 10 minutes of us sitting there in silence The older lady was extremely rude and snippy and stuck up. You can tell she did not want us there. She didn't care about us. She walked over in front of us three or four different times. Never even lifted her eyes to look at us We were going to get a couple samples of wine because we had never been there. So I asked for a sample of the honey white and she had to go get little plastic cups. She didn't say anything about hold on We asked for a sample of wine and the older lady was very rude about saying you can only have two She was very snotty and rude about it when she came back over after we had our two sips of wine and didn't even ask us if we wanted anything else. Just stared at us awkwardly I said we're good. I said my wife was going to ask about the mojito apple cider But doesn't want to spend that kind of money if it isn't any good. And she just looked at us and said it's just minty and then walked away from us We walked out and will never walk into the winery part again

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Spicer Orchards Farm Market, Cider Mill, Fudge & Bakery is hands-down one of the most vibrant and delightful places to spend a day in Michigan. Whether you're there to pick your own seasonal fruit—blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, cherries, peaches, and of course apples—straight off the vine or tree, or just to soak up the sights, it delivers an experience that feels both refreshing and wholesome. 🧺 The pick-your-own experience is top-notch. With a fun wagon ride to the fields, it’s easy to access the freshest fruits imaginable—nothing beats the flavor of something that’s just been picked. They even offer lavender cutting, adding a fragrant, colorful touch to the adventure. 🍩 After picking, the farm store is an absolute must-visit. Fresh doughnuts made all day, creamy fudge, ice cream, homemade jams and fruit salsas, cider slushies, honey sticks—you’ll want one of everything. And for those 21+, the winery offers a rich selection of wines and cider beers. If you're unsure what to try, a flight and a few appetizers is the perfect intro. 🎡 In the fall, Spicer Orchards transforms into a festive playground of joy. Food vendors dish up favorites like BBQ, corn dogs, elephant ears, street corn, popcorn, and fresh lemonade. Kids (and grownups alike!) can explore the playground, get lost in the corn maze, or hop on amusement rides. This is a true one-stop destination for family fun, seasonal delights, and homemade treats. Whether you stay for an hour or the whole day, you’ll leave smiling—and probably with a bag full of goodies. Don’t miss it!

We visited Spicer Orchards for the first time yesterday. My husband and I took our two young kids and met my mom here since it was so nice outside. Some people on here complain about the $5 wristbands, but I personally think it's not a bad price for what you get if you take advantage of what they offer. My son had a wonderful time playing on the playground for a long time and especially loved the sand/dirt area. The animals were very cute and friendly, and my son lovingly referred to the cow as "big fella", haha. Everywhere we went seemed to be well maintained and clean. The gentleman doing the tractor rides was so nice and offered to take our pictures after the hay ride and chat with us. The store was a little narrow for strollers, but we were able to manage fine since it wasn't packed (but still had a lot of people for a weekday, in my opinion). It was all very organized and they really make sure to take advantage of the space that they have. We got to try samples of fudge, and the watermelon and maple bacon flavors I felt were very unique and delicious. They have fresh donuts in bags on the back counter, and we could tell that the pumpkin cinnamon were very popular. We had no problem waiting a few minutes for those, and they were very tasty and fresh, along with the cider. Now, we picked up a blueberry pie to take home, and this is what prompted me to write this long winded review. The pies were still warm when we picked them off the table, so they were fresh. I don't normally like fruit pies, but I've now come to realize that is because I never had good fruit pies. This is hands down the best one I've had, and my mom who got an apple pie said the same thing. Wow! My dad was bummed he couldn't come with us this time, but we will for sure be back when the food trucks are here, to do more wagon rides and u pick, and to pick out pumpkins. Spicers is definitely a new favorite cider mill for us. 🙂

Went there today. It was fun for the kids. BEAUTIFUL PLACE. They really did a great job with all the activities, and you never had to wait too long for a tractor ride to pick you up. However, I know that this is the big season for the local farmers and orchards right now. I get that the prices are high for the season. This is when they make most of their money for the year. I love supporting family-owned businesses like this. What I didn't like was the price the food vendors were charging. A walking taco was $14, and a 16-oz drink was $4.00. Make sure to eat before you go. It's crazy getting three drinks and two walking tacos, and it came out to $44. Bubble Tea for one drink was $9, and the funnel cake was $10.00. Get a big purse and bring your own food. I won't be price gouged like that again.

Saginaw Children's Zoo

Zoo
Zoos & Aquariums
Saginaw Children's Zoo is a regional destination offering interactive exhibits with 150 animals, 80 gardens, and a hand-painted carousel. The zoo celebrates nature, wildlife, and lifelong discovery through affordable and engaging experiences. Visitors can also enjoy events for children at the Dow Event Center such as Baby Shark Live! and popular children's plays. Additionally, the zoo offers an opportunity to learn about the history of Saginaw through its three levels of exhibits.
Such a great little version of a zoo for younger kids who don't have a great attention span yet. They had such a blast being able to switch from animal watching to playing on the playground and then getting a snack. Everything is very reasonably priced for an "attraction" style activity. Definitely would recommend if you're in the area.

This zoo is small in size but had a great variety of animals! Perfect to take smaller kids and get to see everything in one day! Zoo was clean and well kept, staff were friendly and helpful! They have a restaurant, gift shop, carousel, and train ride! Lots of hand washing stations that were nice to have and bathrooms were clean! Would recommend for any age! All the different gardens that people or places sponsor were cool to check out also!

They have crockigators lol 😆 the habitats were clean. The main pond was drained like a mosh pit or lagoon 😇 we got to pet the goats for free 🐐 it was a fun experience. Would go again!

Well maintained zoo in Saginaw that has a nice variety of animals. Caretakers keeps the facilities clean and the animals seem to be happy and enjoying the visitors. Nice train for little kids to to see the entire zoo. Has concessions for a lunch if you did not bring your own. Enjoyed my time there.

Super cheap (got in for $6 a person!), cute little place to take your kids to explore, and even have a park and sand pit. Their gardeners need applause as well its so beautiful everywhere you look! They dont have things on display to buy so you dont spend money like other places (unless you go into the store). Loved it will def come again.
Charlotte T — Google review
Very cute little zoo! I was shocked at how pretty it was and how close up you got to the animals. Plus its only $8 to get in if you're not a local resident. The train ride was cute and there was a nice pond in the middle. Definitely would revisit in the future

It's a small zoo but I love this one. I took my kids there for years. The train is the best part.

I've been coming here since I was a baby and it was grown right along with me 💞 I really enjoy the zoo and can't wait for the new additions so definitely go check it out

First time checking this place out. Had 3 kids with a rained out camping trip. Purchased the "pick 3" option (see pictures with prices) . Kids had fun for hours. Ninja course was new, awesome, and we were the only ones there on a Friday afternoon. Pizza was great. The 2 hours for bounce houses and play structure were actually unlimited, so they were well entertained for over 3 hours. I thought the facility was clean, workers were friendly. They have help wanted signs up, they are doing all they can, and I would say doing a good job at it. I would come back if we get rained out again :-) Also, a great place for the kids to hang out if parents want to go shopping at the outlets!
Danielle L — Google review
Such a fun place for kids. My little one loves the play structure and bounce houses. So far we've been on the weekend and weekday; both experiences were very positive, but as expected the weekend was way busier (still very much enjoyed our time though). We came on a weeknight also and it was very quiet, which was a pleasant change from the weekend crowd. Any staff we have interacted with have been very pleasant as well. We'll definitely make more visits here!

Great time for our sons birthday party. A huge jungle gym, laser tag & arcade games. Our room was clean & the staff was attentive. Our birthday package came with pizza, drinks, goodie bags for each guest, $10 game cards for each kid & a build a bear for the birthday boy. Highly recommend for a birthday party or for some time out with your kids.
Clark B — Google review
Great value for hours of burning energy. We brought an 8 and 3 year old here on a Friday afternoon and had a blast! All they did was run up stairs and slide down things for hours. I overheard another kid say "I am exhausted" and my kids were the same. We stretched out the 5 level play place and the inflatable slides/houses for 3 hours before they just couldn't play anymore. Obviously they said they could and cried not wanting to leave because it was so much fun. Adults were free which is awesome, they could charge us to watch or hardly participate like others do. I still climbed the playplace and went down the inflatable slide a few times. Nostalgic and fun for us too.

Celebrated my son’s 6th birthday party on dec 8th. I can’t express how perfectly smooth the entire party went. Hostess (I forgot her name) was on point with everything and kept me updated and informed. The manager Kim was amazing!! She went above and beyond for my children and I. She was so kind and didnt treat us like just customers. She gave us more memories on his special day and I couldn’t be more thankful and appreciated!!! ❤️

Castaway Play Cafe was a blast—our five kids ran, climbed, and played their hearts out in a clean and well-maintained space. They were having the time of their lives... until about an hour after we left. That’s when the real adventure began—five kids, five slushies, and an unexpected race to the nearest bathroom. Let’s just say, the experience was memorable in ways we hadn’t planned. All jokes aside, the place itself is great, but maybe approach the slushies with caution (or pack some extra wet wipes). Would we come back? Absolutely. Would we get the slushies again? That’s a hard maybe.
Andrea J — Google review
Food was poor quality, high prices. Nachos were stale and did not taste good. Pizza was also very unappetizing. Play structures were fun for the kids, but they kept playing the same 4 songs on repeat for hours on end. Everyone in my group was getting annoyed with that. Overall seemed like a fairly clean place.
R F — Google review
I absolutely love this place! There's something for all ages and even an arcade area. There are so many options and not too bad on prices to unlock it all. My oldest loved the ninja thing they put in their cause he was able to rock climb for the first time. I will most definitely be back, and hopefully soon!!

Kensington Valley Outlets

Shopping mall
Shopping
Shopping-mall chain featuring a variety of brand-name & designer outlet stores.
Like most outlets shopping malls are Kensington Valley Outlets has all the brands that you will find across America’s outlets BUT at a discounted price and special offered rate that is most reasonable. Well this items will not be the latest season merchandise ! But i would like to highlight its common area and washroom facilities that is really user friendly and has huge resting area for all. The Women’s washroom includes a nursing area and playroom. The toilet has a large space to keep all your shopping bags & goods. But i will suggest to put the Nursing Room & Playroom outside at the hall so its easily access by fathers / male too !

My husband liked to come up here, usually at night when it was quiet to do laps around the mall. Their new security shined a flashlight in my car and questioned what I was doing. I was told we cannot be here at this time anymore. Really??? We never had an issue running here at night when it was owned by tanger. It was a safe, lit up area to do something as simple as run. We have shopped here for 25+ years. You won’t be getting my business anymore.
Anna — Google review
Don't let your Wife or significant other drag you here. Endless amount of stores and deals to be had. You will have hours upon hours of every store telling you what percent off they have. I think they always have items discounted year round. I didn't see anywhere to eat or just get a snack. I would watch your belongings. It seemed to me that there were several people casing places and acting weird in the stores like they were trying to get a five finger discount. Not worth going to if you have a long drive.
SPAT F — Google review
This Outlet mall is conveniently located off Interstate 96 between Detroit and Lansing. It has the usual clothing and shoe stores, but also some resale shops - IMO very important during these days when prices are so high elsewhere. They used to be part of the Tanger Outlet group, but they’re working to make it even better.
Mike D — Google review
They have a good amount of stores. I do love visiting this outlet, but I’m disappointed that the Tommy Hilfiger stores is permanently closed. I’m not sure if this is due to the retailer choosing to close the store or if the buy out of the outlets caused them to close due to certain factors.
Jessica B — Google review
Great Outlet Mall. (Ised yo be Tanger Outlet) Love the layout, there is lots of parking if you prefer to park at a specific store ... OR for those who enjoy walking its a fabulous way to get some exercise as you visit the stores!

Several fishing lakes plus biking & hiking trails galore adorn this 11,000-acre park with camping.

I love this place so much. Michigan magic. Started trail running/ultra training on this trail in 2019. I’ve now run all over the mountains and most incredible places in the western US. This place is still home and strikes sweet nostalgia and is a special piece of me. Stunning nature and rich ecosystems with our wetlands. I was sad that it was closed when I returned to visit (for parking lot construction) but I’m glad I still found a way to access the trails. Thank you to the state park employees. Especially the lady who chatted with me for a half an hour about the construction and trail access and camping. Keep doing what you’re doing. 🩷

Silver lake state park was gorgeous, nice lawn, well kept extensive network of trails, plenty of parking and bathrooms. Nice clean beach, dogs restricted to area of lawn away from swimming beach, although there other areas where dogs can access water on leash.

Had a super great time tent camping here! Stayed at site H7 and got to hear the frogs croaking through the night, which I loved!! Also, found some good hiking not too far away and found a lot of cool critters (frogs, snakes, woodpeckers, butterfly’s). Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to get out and see some nature

It is one of my favorite hiking and trail running spots in Michigan, with an easy 30 min drive from where I live Ann Arbor. Lots of parking and flexibility for distance, with small loops like 4 miles, 8 miles if you include some parts, and up to ~18 miles for the full Potawatomi trail, which I ran once while training for a marathon, it was a great experience, though definitely bring lots of water especially if it's hot, just a couple of spots with fresh water pumps. There's also a great picnic area next to a lake people like to boat in.

Steam Railroading Institute

Rail museum
Museums
This museum focused on steam-era railroad technology offers visitors a variety of train excursions.
So my family was in from Florida and we stopped and checked this out. My mom loved it! We had a guide who told us the history of the express and the history of all the cars taught us about steam engines we got lots of pictures. It was truly a lot of fun. I live right down the road and I had no idea that they did all that I thought it was just a train stop lol. Very happy that we went there. It was a lot of fun.

This was my first time going and my first time ever trying to get tickets. Let’s start with the good things. The staff is super friendly and organized at the station, everyone really enjoys working there, even the conductors and the staff that goes in every single carriage. I had the “cheapest” tickets and still it was pricey. They did gave me hot cocoa which I thought it was extra. The negative of this experience or things that I would have done different. - the train was behind an hour, people were waiting in the cold for an hour…I wish they told people before - they only have two restrooms inside!!! It took me 20 min. And they have portal potty’s outside, but still with the people they get I’m shock only two. - if you have small children I’ll call ahead and ask for a 4 seater. I wish I did this! - Ashley was so so so disappointed, the food was terrible and I agree with the vendors, not enough vendors that were about Polar express theme, which was disappointed. - The line for Santa was so long that when we went he wasn’t “available” anymore! -I’ll bring my own water and my own food - again not enough bathrooms and the portal potties are dirty. - they don’t have enough small children activities, and they have a slide and a carrousel but it’s 3 dolls for each time they go, even the slide which is pricey. I get that this what mostly people depend on their income but it needs a major improve, specially for the price you pay. Again, it’s so disappointed for families with small children about the quality of food, the activities and the environment. It’s sad that I didn’t feel like it was Christmasy or “North Pole”.

This was a great event for the family! Roger made it such a special event for us. Very hard to get tickets, but very much worth it. Best to have one person purchase all the tickets for a group. Thanks for making my sons wishes come true.

It was quite an experience here I've been wanting to go here for years. Not sure why but I finally made it only to see The polar Express was getting maintenance done so sorry to say this year I don't think there's going to be rides with this train pulling anyone. The wheels were completely off the train. Our tour guide that we had which is very informative about everything. I really enjoyed all he was telling me. I wish I could remember his name but he said that in my lifetime I'll never see this happen again to The polar Express train that was the train that featured in The polar Express movie. So next year I will have to go for a ride.
Cassondra K — Google review
We attended the Christmas in July event and had so much fun exploring the trains and riding the mini train. We came early and so we didn't get to watch the movie. But the tour, mini trains and train musuem was totally worth it!! This was a free event when we went unless you wanted to ride the big train that was $5 a person.

This was our first trip on the Pere Marquette. We choose the swivel chairs which turned out to be an excellent choice for comfort and viewing. The staff in our car and elsewhere were incredibly friendly and made the trip fun. The town of Ashley is definitely geared towards children but it's fun to check out the small stores. Overall, it was a fun experience.

The North Pole Express was a magical experience. We went with a group of my Mom-Friends and our kids. We got the seats in the dining cars. The kids sipped on hot cocoa, had delicious treats brought to us on the on the way there and back. The staff in our car (Holly) lead Christmas songs and shared historical information about the train. The conductor came around on the way home and signed the Polar Express book that we bought in Ashley. Ashley completely transformed into the North Pole. All of the staff and vendors there were so incredibly joyful and in character! I was so impressed, it was Disney level commitment. There was a free magic show there, the Grinch, shops, rides, a toy shop where kids could make a toy and so many nods to the Polar Express movie. We loved it! Worth every penny and we will definitely do this again. Also making a trip back to Ashley because we didn’t get to do everything. If you go, definitely wear your pajamas like in the movie! Lots of people do this or wear matching shirts and holiday hats, necklaces, etc. You can bring snacks on the train, so that is great. Water bottles and non-sugary snacks are a good idea for the kiddos.

November 2021 - family of 5 went on the Polar express. We went on a Saturday night and had a blast. My 3 daughters are under 10. We went on Vixen and the 2 young ladies did a great job keep us entertained. We go to Ashley, MI. Its a small town and we went right to Santa. Didn't wait long. A lot of things for the kids to do. The volunteers are wonderful. You can make or buy items there. You can get food. We plan on doing this again next year with more family and friends. Tickets normally go on sale in the spring.

Riverfront castle with watch tower built in 1922 as novelist James Oliver Curwood's writing studio.
This was a cool place to see! grew up in the Grand Rapids area and never knew that there was a castle just a little over an hour from us. We had a great afternoon checking out the park and the castle is neat as heck. the worker on site was very nice. Very cool and rare to find a castle like this in Michigan. Sleepy Hollow State Park

Nature & Parks
State Parks
Popular snowshoeing park offers all-year activities on 2,600+ acres of woods, fields & river lands.
I can't speak highly enough of this place. If I could stay all season long I would. Every rustic sote we've been at is so amazing. Places for hammocks, large fire pits, and grounds always kept nice. There are so many trails to explore, akd even an island you can ride your horses onto if you wish. An absolute treasure of a place, 10/10 all day.
Melissa R — Google review
We did a day hike and really enjoyed the experience. Trails are wide and well maintained, but stay alert as the equestrian community uses the trails so there's a lot of 💩 on the trail and with a number of blind corners, it's easy to startle a horse and rider. The island feels like an entirely different ecosystem, don't miss it if you're hiking. Note: there is virtually no cell service so if you are hiking and use a map or trail app, download it before you get there. It is a black hole on the coverage maps.
Julie P — Google review
There are no attendants at the front so make sure you have your Recreation Passport! The park is so beautiful right now but we came to walk the Sleepy Hollow Trail and we were soooo confused trying to find it. There are NO signs for it. When you enter the park take a right at the sign that says “Cabins/Hike-in Campsites” and go all the way down to the end of the road to park. You’re basically walking towards the hike in sites to walk the trail. When you get to the dirt road you can cross or go down the dirt road. We took the road because we wanted to walk the island loop. We ended up walking 4 miles here. There were a lot of cars but we didn’t run into a lot of people. BEWARE OF TICKS. We found one on our dog when we got home.

Sleepy Hollow State Park is a beautiful natural space with great potential to become a top-tier outdoor destination. The trails and lake offer a peaceful setting, but the facilities could use meaningful upgrades. Wishlist for improvement: • Better trail maintenance for year-round use • Upgraded restrooms and showers • Water refill stations near trailheads and common areas • Bike and kayak rentals to enhance accessibility • More shaded picnic areas and seating • Play areas and educational signs for families • Improved lighting and safety measures • Updated trail maps and digital navigation tools With these enhancements, Sleepy Hollow could truly shine as one of Michigan’s premier state parks.

Almost every site has trees for added privacy. The dog Beach is next to the human Beach, our dogs had a blast! The showers were clean with warm water and great pressure. They do have vending machines at the showers if you need a snack or small items you may forget to bring. All of the staff are very friendly. The trails are amazing and there are plenty of them, both walking and biking. The playground is nice. It has a basketball court(including balls), horse shoes(including horseshoes), pavilion, swings, slides, sandbox(with toys) and other games. The dump/fill station is very convenient. The dumpster area has recycling (including; Styrofoam, metal milk jugs and more)and returnable bottle donation area. The beach has some shade trees, picnic tables and pavilions. It's close to a mile to walk to the beach but you can drive to it and park in the beach parking lot. The park has kayak rentals. They have a butterfly garden that attracts many butterflies. This park has more butterflies than any other I've seen previously. Quiet time at night is nicely enforced, They were always very polite. I plan on coming to this park again, it checked all of the boxes on my list.

The Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, located on the campus of Michigan State University, is a striking contemporary art museum designed by Zaha Hadid. Named after local philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad, the museum features international contemporary art exhibits in a visually stunning venue. The building's unique design includes glass and stainless steel elements that create an eye-catching architectural spectacle. With regularly rotated exhibits, visitors can always expect a fresh experience.
A great FREE experience! If you are looking for something to do in the area this is a great one time stop. It is free for the general public and there are always events for MSU students. A very organized well thought exhibit layout also adds to the experience. There are also so many hands on experiences there is always something to do!

The museum has a unique collection of art that really catches my eye. A lot of creativity is clearly shown in each piece I walk by. I recommend coming here in your free time just to enjoy what this place has to offer. It really clears the mind and makes you just appreciate the little things through looking at the art. It is a calm and interesting experience that I would like more people to do.

The Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, located on the campus of Michigan State University, is a striking architectural and cultural gem. Designed by the renowned architect Zaha Hadid, the building itself is a work of contemporary art, featuring sharp angles, dramatic lines, and a dynamic façade that captures attention before one even steps inside. Its futuristic design contrasts with the traditional architecture found elsewhere on campus, making it a destination for design enthusiasts and art lovers alike. Inside, the museum offers a thoughtfully curated mix of contemporary art and rotating exhibitions that span various media and cultural perspectives. The galleries are open and flexible, allowing for an immersive experience that challenges and engages visitors. The museum emphasizes global contemporary art, showcasing works that address timely and provocative social, political, and cultural issues. The Broad also serves as a hub for education and community engagement. It offers programs for students, artists, and the public, fostering dialogue and creative exploration. Admission is free, which enhances its accessibility and encourages repeat visits. Overall, the Eli Broad Museum is not only an architectural landmark but also a vital cultural institution. It successfully bridges the local and the global, making it a must-visit for anyone in East Lansing or the surrounding area.

Parked at the MSU parking garage just five minutes away. To my surprise there was a lot of attention for spirituality in the digital age. To me it seems we are reinventing the wheel once again. If we go for horoscopes to understand ourselves and others around us, showcase a person that resembles the pagan priests of old and interweave that with an image of the fright of a calamitous god - it leads us to think about our self fulfillment and self direction. What is lacking in my opinion is an image or representation of an adventurous Christian life with God. To live in partnership with Him Who created us as his servants. What does all this means in the world today. Maybe this representation can be added to the exhibitions. The architecture of the building is creating a great atmosphere. I like the way glass was used, maybe the concrete a bit less. To me the building resembles a boat cutting through the waves of the sea, exploring new territories. But do not forget where we are coming from.

I’ve been driving back and forth since they have top level animal care and emergency room and every visit the entire premise is being kept as clean as I could ever ask for. It’s a peaceful environment with people upholding the speed limit and folks walking along the striped lines. I’m shocked by how many departments they have and how beautifully the staff presents themselves with high level respect and demeanor. Thank you for the top level skills and knowledge!

The botanical gardens at MSU are definitely a great place to visit with the family, kids included! Hundreds of plant varieties and lots of knowledgeable staff. The elementary school program my kids and I have been attending is awesome. It has been super fun for all ages, and very educational. Our lettuce is growing well and We all can't wait until our next visit!

MSU is such a beautiful campus, especially in the fall!

The campus is beautiful! Watch out closely when driving, students are everywhere and they don't pay attention to cars. You might want to pre-download the "Pay by Plate" app, so it's ready when you find a spot to park. Parking is difficult to find, or even to know where it's okay to park. Do your research ahead of time. The walk down the Red Cedar is gorgeous, especially in the fall. Go green! 💚

It's fun to go to Spartan Stadium to see the flood of Maize and Blue and watch our guys dominate little brother. The drone show was super cool, as was the band performance at half time.

I loved the front row seats where I was able to see it all! Although we lost the game my family enjoyed our time there. The parking lot where we tailgated was not to far from the Stadium.

Potter Park Zoo is a diverse animal sanctuary in Michigan, housing 350 creatures from around the world. From African lions to Alaskan moose, Amur tigers to Arctic foxes, and Bactrian camels to North American bald eagles, the zoo offers an array of wildlife experiences. Visitors can also observe red pandas and snow leopards while learning about their training through the zoo's YouTube channel.
I am absolutely impressed with this little gem! We drove up from Indy just to visit and I can say we absolutely loved it! The grounds are well kept and maintained which was an absolute pleasure, it felt like both the animals and the staff were treated well. The park itself is a little bit small but do NOT let that sway you, there are so many fun things to enjoy at every turn! I think my favorite part was the sensory garden, I loved the herb tasting area. Maybe my second favorite part was the quiet zone lol, we were there the same day as an elementary school and having a little area deep in the foliage was such a nice break, it 100% gave me my second wind I needed to get the last few animals in!! Overall I think this trip was absolutely worth it, from start to finish this entire process was a very easy and enjoyable experience!

The zoo is clean and easily marked to follow on the path but is very small. After taking our time with the exhibits, from start to finish it took just over an hour to get through. So I’d consider it a little pricey for what you all see, considering you have to pay for parking AND admission. It is definitely geared more toward younger children as well, 5 and under it seems. Decent little outing though.

We love this zoo. All the animals was out being active. We even watched a turtle get weighed. We enjoyed The Boo at the Zoo. It was a great experience and very nice volunteers. I wish the hay ride was operating during our visit but we can't control the weather. We still had a great time

I love this zoo! The exhibits are large and clean, the walkways spacious. There are very cool animals here and you can tell they're well loved. The Zookeeper Notes signage is great-names, dates, special facts, etc. I think Doppsee and Phineas (Rhinos) are my favorite non-cat animals, but I love every animal here! I love that you can buy art created by the animals in the gift shop! I got rhino art, bat-eared fox art on magnets and feather ornaments!

My daughter, my husband and myself went on a school field trip to Potter Park Zoo. We had an amazing time!!! We waited less than 1 minute to buy an extra entrance ticket and we were on our way. We started at about 10 am and left about 1 pm. We also visited the gift shop to look around and get a bracelet where she can track a certain animal. She has multiple animals that she tracks, like the whale shark, and a hammerhead shark. There a lot of different animals than at other zoo's, like the Tamarin, which followed my daughters movements and wanted to be close to her. There were exotic animals like a tiger and a lion, as well as barnyard animals, like the goats and cows. There numerous species of birds, including my favorite, the Bald Eagle.

Purchased a Deluxe Family Membership for my partner and I (2 adults). Since we purchased for the 2025 season, we have frequented Potter Park Zoo at least weekly. As part of the membership, discounts for purchases in the Zoo as well as Zoo events have provided a ton of value, as we have attended numerous after-hours events--which we love because they are adults-only often. From the Snow Foxes and Otters where your "adventure begins" to the Ravens Rocky (listen closely, sometimes Rocky will tell you to "come here" to beckon you in to check them out as Corvids are capable of imitation of human speech) and Lily, Potter Park Zoo offers a wide variety of wildlife to view as well as events like the "After Dark," Halloween, and holiday lights. Stop by and pack a lunch to eat while you watch the Otters play, or the Elk run around. Go to the farmyard and hang out with the goats, or check out Ralph the Emu. Spend some time watching the absolute unit of a giant anteater cruise around his enclosure, or check out the BABY BONGO! A membership also includes discounts to other zoos (and aquariums) and free entry to John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids! Almost forgot to mention; the zoo membership includes parking for the park itself!

Fantastic zoo! I am sorry I waited so long to finally visit. It is clean and the animals were very active, despite the heat.

I’ve visited twice in the past couple of years. It’s a nice, quiet, small zoo great for families. Our most recent visit was a Saturday during the summer and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. Of course, with a zoo, you are not guaranteed that you’ll see all the animals, but we saw just about every single one. Prices for admission, gift shop, and food are reasonable. Bring a water bottle and take advantage of the bottle refill stations. There’s lots of shade and benches to take a break. If you time it just right, you can catch the zookeepers talking about the animals.
