Sandra Farms Coffee is a boutique coffee grower located in the mountains of Adjuntas, Puerto Rico. They are known for their dedication to sustainable farming practices and traditional roasting methods. Visitors can enjoy lively tours guided by passionate individuals and indulge in artisan chocolate, creating a perfect pairing with their flavorful coffee. My husband and I had a great time with the coffee tour at Sandra Farm. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. He kept the tour fun and interesting. We learned a lot of cool facts about coffee. The tour ended at Sandra’s house on top of the hill, and it was such a beautiful place. The mountain views are perfect. Very green and peaceful. We just sat back, relaxed and enjoyed the coffee and mountain views. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Puerto Rico and love to learn more about local coffee cultures. The last mile getting up to the farm can be a little tricky as you will be driving through dust road but don’t let that discourage you. It’s not that bad ☺️
NANCY P — Google review
We arrived at 11 am and was treated to a wonderful, informative tour of Sandra Farm by Carmelo. The first part of the drive from Ponce, PR, was normal. The last part was on narrow mountain roads (mostly paved). It was a fun adventure and well worth our time! And, the coffee and chocolate were amazing!
Colette K — Google review
If you dare take the road…it is lovely! Tal I believe was our guide. She was great with the kids and adults alike. It was quite the experience to see the variety grown, hear the history of coffee on the island, and taste the freshest coffee found. An experience not to be missed, if you dare take the road.
Kayla K — Google review
Wow. What an experience. The drive was very crazy and the road is extremely narrow (make sure you have a truck). However, I learned so much through this experience. The guided tour throughout the grounds was amazing, with so many scenic views. Learning the process from growing coffee berries to properly roasting them was an experience of a lifetime. Our tour guide, once we made it to the house, he prepped and demonstrated the process of making coffee. The coffee didn't leave an irritating sensation in my stomach. The chocolates were different, I brought a couple back, different reviews, based on what you favor. There's just so many positives to this experience, but one thing is for sure, I truly understand and now know what good quality coffee is. It's really a process. Love this place.
TC C — Google review
Absolutely incredible experience, totally worth the drive up into the mountains. Once you arrive to the property you are greeted with spectacular views and botanical beauty. We did the coffee tour with Tal and couldn’t have ask for a better guide. Tal offered a wealth of wisdom for all things coffee (agriculture, history & coffee production). Also another surprise, we found out that the farm offers / makes delicious chocolate and will be offering tours soon. FYI the drive up might feel a bit intimidating, but rest assured, it’s completely safe and manageable.
Heavii H — Google review
Great experience! I will say the drive getting there is kinda sketchy so would definitely recommend an SUV. The Tour was very nice and educational. Our tour guide Tal was great and you could tell she was very passionate about what she does. At the end she made coffee and gave us a lot of samples of the delicious chocolate that they make there too. Overall would highly recommend.
Tyler D — Google review
So glad I found this coffee farm on google maps while driving from Manatì to Ponce. We got same-day tour tickets through their website (links to airbnb experiences to easily buy). Don’t be discouraged by the drive lol it was crazy but safe (we came from the north). We were there during growing season, and were told it looks a little different during harvest season! This is a local, eco-friendly, vertically integrated coffee farm run by true coffee lovers. Actual coffee from puerto rico, not just roasted here. They grow lots of other things too and will tell you about everything you see. Carmelo is very knowledgeable and will answer all of your questions! We sampled coffee and chocolate at the end and of course had to buy some of both 👍🏻
Taryn T — Google review
This might be my favorite place in all of Puerto Rico. We took of the tour of the farm and it was life changing. Carmelo was our tour guide, and he might be my favorite person ever. He knew so much about coffee and farming in PR, he let us try different fruits and plants and even showing us how to chew the sugar cane. The tour ended with a coffee tasting and let me tell you. They sell some of the best coffee in the entire world here. Absolutely amazing. Don’t even get me started on the chocolates and jerky that they sell. AMAZING! I would love to Puerto Rico just to keep visiting this place.

Tours
Tanama River Adventures is a top choice for families seeking an unconventional adventure in Puerto Rico. This renowned tour company offers a range of activities, including invigorating hikes and thrilling river rafting experiences. The river itself originates in the central region of Puerto Rico and provides a significant portion of the island's water supply. Visitors can expect breathtaking views as they journey through forests, rivers, and fields of coffee, banana, and plantains.
Just did this excursion on 3/11/25. We had an amazing time. Went with my husband, my 16 year old daughter, 8 year old son. The hike is kinda long, but my 8 year old did not complain at all. The guide was fun and informative. There are slippery areas but if you wear good shoes and walk carefully you will be fine. Although, our gps took us somewhere else first, I called the number and someone answered the phone right away and gave me directions, make sure you follow the directions on the website. This was the highlight of our trip.

We had an amazing experience on the Mukaro Cave tour. It rained the day before, which made the river current strong enough for us to enjoy body floating. Exploring the cave and spotting bats was also thrilling. The tour guides shared fascinating information about the local flora and fauna and were very helpful throughout the entire experience. I would definitely recommend this tour!
Haitisha M — Google review
We had a great time with our guide, Marcos. It wasn’t easy but also not terribly difficult, the caves and landscape were amazing. Plenty of time to rest and take it all in. Marcos was also extremely accommodating with various route options for those who didn’t want to swim. Prepare to get completely wet regardless though. Would greatly recommend a tour through these guys, they know what they’re doing!
Sana N — Google review
The team that gave us the tour was quite refreshing in how I tune they are to nature and the appreciation of nature. They are kind, gentle, and socially aware of the dangers in sliding while climbing. Which means they are about safety, yours and theirs. If you have a mindset to enjoy every view and new sight from being in the water to moving up and down... absolutely amazing. Enjoy any moment to take a video or picture. Listen to the guide and enjoy whatever may happen. Make the most of it whether it's hot or cold outside.
Frank L — Google review
The scenery and nature is wonderful. The guides are always helping and have a lot of knowledge about the area. Bring good shoes, lots of clay, mud and slippery surfaces.
Emmanuel R — Google review
This tour was absolutely amazing I totally recommend it. We were running a couple minutes late and they were able to allow us on the tour still. Yama was so sweet and led the way during our hike and was more than willing to take pictures of us! The experience was amazing and everything was gorgeous!
Tanyia C — Google review
Great experience! Jama (hope I spelled it right) made the tour absolutely amazing. Allowed us to explore on our own at certain stopping points, educated us and was patient with the group's pace. I definitely recommend only hiking shoes and not water shoes. All the girls & guys hated life with there water shoes. If you bring a small bag, make sure it's waterproof. We brought small snacks and water which was definitely needed. They let you wash your stuff with a hose at the end, so I recommend bringing dry clothes to change into after.
Kevin B — Google review
Wow this is my top 3 places in Puerto Rico what a beautiful place. You have to go it feels like Avatar 😂🤣❤️🇵🇷. The service was excellent, it was like 3-4 hours tour. Amazing experience. I want to do it again but with more people 😀✌️.

Visitors rave about the beauty of the mountains, river, caves, and suspension bridge during the tour. Denise and Edwin were awesome. We learned a lot about the plants as well as the history of the area. The hike down to the river was really beautiful and the cave and tubing was really cool. We had a great time. Wear water shoes, swimsuit and workout clothes. You’ll have a great time. Eat at the restaurant next door afterwards. It was so delicious! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Carey S — Google review
Absolutely incredible tour- we are so glad we rented a car and made the 1.5hr trip from San Juan! Edwin was so knowledgeable so caring, a few people were very inexperienced kayakers and they had no problem- I’d recommend this excursion to anyone and everyone. There was some physical aspects but nothing too intense! Do a Batey Cave Kayak Tour when you are in Puerto Rico and you get a partial spa day as well!
Cydney F — Google review
Oh my goodness, this was my favorite adventure of our Puerto Rico trip and should be a must-do on everyone’s list! Beautiful caves and lush surroundings in a place that feels untouched and serene. Our guide, Edwin, who grew up exploring the area and playing in the Tanama River, was so friendly and knowledgeable. He even stopped and made us face masks out of volcanic clay. I was not expecting a spa treatment in the middle! Lol The tour was just the right amount of activity to make us feel like we worked for the experience but not so much that we were exhausted after.
Kristen C — Google review
Our group had such a good time with our guide Pito. He was professional and hands down the most down to earth and friendly guide I have ever had an experience with. He was knowledgeable about the local flora, fauna, and history, and he shared his insights in a way that was both engaging and entertaining. He really made the experience one we will never forget!! Thank you Pito!!
Nichole K — Google review
We had an incredible time on this excursion. It was perhaps one of the best excursions we’ve ever been on. Edwin was a fantastic guide. The cave tubing was awesome, also the swimming and cliff jump afterwards was really cool. We really loved it and would recommend it.
Doug B — Google review
What an amazing trip. Great for tweens, teens and families. Edwin was a great guide. And Matias cafe was delish. They sell out everyday before 2 it’s so good.
James T — Google review
I was incredibly impressed with the information and tour I was given at Batey Adventures. Edgar is an amazing, kind and knowledgeable guide. Be sure to know that if you're not mildly fit, it's a lot of physical activity and you walk down and up an actual mountain. Beautiful experience and place. Guaranteed. 5 stars.
Jessica D — Google review
Our reservation was cancelled due to heavy rain prior to our tour; they called us the day before to notified and gave us the option to either reschedule or full refund. We rescheduled end enjoyed the River Cave Kayaking Tour with Edwin as the tour guide. He did an awesome job with my 8 yo girl, who was very nervous about kayaking, going into a cave and much more. Edwin welcomed us, oriented us about what to expect, and kept us informed from start to finish. Also, he recommended a great place to eat like a local, and that was also great food.

History Museums
Located in the heart of the city, Museo de Arte de Ponce is a prominent destination for art enthusiasts. Boasting an extensive collection of over 4,500 pieces, including paintings, sculptures, decorative arts, and more from Europe, Latin America, and Puerto Rico spanning from the 14th to the 20th century. The museum also features a notable assortment of 19th-century European art. Visitors can explore this renowned institution through guided tours offered daily except Tuesdays.
It's not the full museum experience you would expect but they have a couple of puertorrican paintings up for exhibition. I thought it was nice and loved the works they had on display!
Tania S — Google review
I haven't been here in years due to it being closed. Now only open on Fridays, and they are still renovating the first floor. There are 70 pieces from the museum in Dallas, Texas. I'll need to make a trip soon.
Gladys C — Google review
The museum is partially closed due to damage from the earthquake two years ago. They have a small exhibit of artworks that were very beautiful and interesting. Our tour guide was very thorough and informed. I would love to visit when the entire museum is open again.
Marc — Google review
Great museum art center therefore it is partially closed due to remodelation. Ticket was half price $6.00 but worthy
Pedro H — Google review
Definitely a few hours is not enough to enjoy this museum! It is gorgeous!!! From the architecture of the building itself to the art inside! The souvenir shop is slightly expensive but don't miss it!!!! I would recomend you to call prior so you can get a tour guide. Also: if you're a student with a valid ID you get a discount! If you're going to Ponce don't miss the museum!!! P.S all the paintings, particularly scenery ones look way better live!
Suaih M — Google review
A real gem for art lovers. European masters and Puerto Rican artists prominently featured. From the front desk representatives to the tour guides, guards and gift shop staff you will encounter pure professionalism and pride in their beautiful museum. Definitely worth the trip from San Juan.
Giselle L — Google review
We arrived an hour before closing, but as it was going to be our obl chance to see the collection we bought tickets to see the permanent collection only. I guess you can buy a more expensive ticket to see visiting exhibits. We spent the majority of the hour viewing only one small section of the collection. With 10 minutes left we went upstairs to be informed there was another ENTIRE floor of art work. Most of the second floor was older religious related works. Which were amazing, as I raced around and saw them... When we return to PR we will set an entire day to visit.
John B — Google review
One of the best experience related to art. You can see some of the best Puerto Rican art with a tuch of peace and quite. They have special section every now and then you need to pay for that part of the museum extra. In my opinion its worth the money because they have usually intresting activities related to that art section.

Attraction
Parque de Bombas is a historic structure in Ponce, Puerto Rico, which was the island's first firehouse and later transformed into a museum in 1990. Located in the downtown area, it is part of the main hub of activity and surrounded by popular tourist destinations such as Plaza Las Delicias and Catedral Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe.
Fun place to visit with family. It’s a good history lesson but also there are places to get authentic frituras, ice cream, drinks, quenepas etc. There is also a big souvenir shop across the street. The plaza is shaded and lots of benches to sit and relax.

BOMBAS PARK MUSEUM This historic former fire station is located in the charming town square, Plaza las Delicias, in the city of San Juan, directly behind the town's cathedral. This former fire station is famous for its history and has long been recognized for its historical and architectural role in Puerto Rican society. It is one of the most photographed places on the island of Puerto Rico.
Odaliz A — Google review
Beautiful, well kept plaza in the heart of one of the most historic towns of the island. The area is super clean. Lots of stores to visit for souvenirs, but our favorite is Utopia. The workers are very friendly and welcoming. The area has many restaurants also and a beautiful water fountain fur pictures and admire while having a delicious Piragua. They also have an amazing vegan ice cream parlor.

Perfecto 🔥 Aquí tienes un review completo en inglés, positivo y descriptivo, ideal para publicar en Google Maps sobre tu visita al Parque de Bombas en Ponce, Puerto Rico 👇 ⸻ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Must-See Icon of Ponce — Full of History and Charm! Visiting the Parque de Bombas in Ponce was an unforgettable experience. This striking red-and-black building isn’t just one of Puerto Rico’s most famous landmarks — it’s a proud symbol of Ponce’s history, culture, and resilience. From the moment you see it, the unique architecture immediately catches your eye. Originally built in 1882 as the main pavilion for an exhibition, it later became the city’s first fire station — and today it serves as a beautifully preserved museum honoring the brave firefighters who once protected Ponce. Inside, you’ll find vintage fire engines, historical photos, uniforms, helmets, and fascinating exhibits that tell the story of how the station became part of the city’s soul. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always happy to share stories and answer questions. Entrance is free, but donations are appreciated — and it’s absolutely worth visiting. It doesn’t take long to explore, but it leaves a lasting impression. The location couldn’t be better — right next to the Plaza Las Delicias and the Catedral Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, making it easy to explore all three in one stop. The surrounding area is lively, with cafés, local shops, and the warm, welcoming vibe that makes Ponce so special. If you love history, photography, or simply discovering unique cultural sites, Parque de Bombas is a must-visit. It perfectly captures the heart and pride of Ponce. 🇵🇷🚒✨ #ParquedeBombas #Ponce #PuertoRico #HistoricLandmark #PuertoRicoVibes #CulturaBoricua #TravelPuertoRico #OldTownPonce #FirefightersMuseum #CaribbeanCharm

Isla Caja De Muertos

Island
Nature & Parks
Isla Caja De Muertos, also known as Coffin Island, is a small uninhabited paradise off the coast of Ponce. Accessible by boat or kayak, this protected wilderness area boasts clear-water beaches and hiking trails. The island's distinct coffin-like shape adds an air of intrigue to its allure. Visitors can enjoy a day trip exploring crystal waters and rocky terrain before unwinding on the beautiful white sand beach called Playa Pelicano, recipient of the prestigious Blue Flag award.
I grew up in PR. I’m ashamed to say I never visited this island until Last October. This island has one of the best beaches of PR. I’ve snorkeled all over Hawaii. The turquoise waters of this island are comparable to some of the beaches in Maui, Hawaii. I saw under the dock the bigger at boxer fix ever!!!! It was enormous. The eyes were bigger than the size of a cow’s eye!!! Getting to caja de muerto: Call island ventures They usually only make 1 trip per day — departing from La Guancha Marina at 8:30am sharp and departing from the island at 3:30pm. The boat trip takes 30 minutes. They no longer allow you to bring beach chairs, umbrellas or coolers on the boat, but they have chairs, umbrellas, kayaks and SUP’s for rent now also. And food/drinks are included in the trip. The crew was great. I was amazed to see cactuses were as high as some of the cactuses I saw in Tucson, Az. There’s a good hike to the light house. Bring comfortable tennis shoes. The hike can get steep in some areas. Caja de Muertos is one of Puerto Rico’s Nature Reserves, a municipality of Ponce. The island is a wonderful destination for beach and nature lovers seeking to experience the pleasures of an uninhabited island free of development. The island was voted as as one of the “The Ten Enchanting Natural Attractions of Puerto Rico I regret I didn’t make an effort to visit it before. It’s only 8 miles from the mainland. I only paid $60 to get ther by ferry and included food. This is a must see destination.
Myriam H — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous but the structures are falling apart due to frequent earthquakes and hurricanes. Do to this there’s, currently, no tours to the island.
Suaih M — Google review
This is a very nice Island off the coast of the main land. This is one of many small islands close to Puerto Rico. This one is by Ponce. You can catch a ferry/Catamaran/boat ride from La Guancha Marina in Ponce. This should be a must visit location, in my opinion. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. If your ok with a walk to see a breath taking view, then please take the hike to the abandon Light House/El Faro. It's about 1/2 hour walk to get there and 1/2 hour back. Please do go early in the day and with proper foot wear, no flip flops/slippers. Take a water bottle and a small wet towel because on hot days, you'll need it. Also try wearing a hat, it helps out somewhat. Don't forget your phone or camera to take pictures and selfies.
Jose L — Google review
Beautiful Island to have an amazing day at the beach. You have to bring your food and drinks. No bathroom available.
Yesenia P — Google review
Not that much to do here but relax and enjoy yourself. Southern Puerto Rico is special ✨. I swam almost the length of the island. The off shore currents weren't a problem the day I was there and there were only a few other boats to be seen passing by. The conditions did seem harsh, in a beautiful to look at natural way, and there was one nice sandy beach. Hiking the middle of the island is prohibited by the government after earthquake damage. I thoroughly enjoyed the boat tour I took there with Island Ventures; everyone was so friendly. After my captain became concerned with my open water swimming; I was offered a ride in the tender by the Captain of the Pina Records yacht. I was insulted and declined, but next time I will gladly take the ride if I can go on the yacht 😂.

My first time to PR. The hubby is from Ponce so of course he took me out here. Even though we came after all the hurricanes and the earthquake and it was in a way deserted because it didn't look anything like what everyone has posted. We still had an awesome time. The water was so beautiful it was so peaceful. There was maybe one other boat that came out but for the most part we were the only ones. I was totally in love with it.

Nestled along Puerto Rico's stunning north coast, Mar Chiquita Beach is a hidden gem that offers a unique blend of natural beauty and adventure. This horseshoe-shaped cove, located about 40 kilometers west of San Juan in the charming town of Manati, is almost entirely encircled by rugged rocks. While swimming can be tricky due to strong currents and underwater cliffs, the breathtaking views make it worth the visit.
Beautiful smaller beach. Lots of free parking. Rough currents and slippery rocks. Good if you can swim confidently if not it’s still a beautiful place to lay in the sand. The circular rock pool is breathtaking to see in person!!! Locals have snacks and drinks you can purchase with cash. There was a business renting chairs and umbrellas but they were packing up to leave when we arrived (4pm)

Absolutely a beautiful landlocked beach. The waves do crash over the lock and create a little wave pool. Crystal clear waters and some sea life living in the lock. No, there are no sharks so bring some goggles and a snorkel and enjoy the little fish.

Great are with lots of rocks to hike if you are experienced enough. The views are incredible and the water is clear. The have vendors selling whatever you need and nice little umbrella areas. A lot of parking.

This beach was so beautiful, so relaxing. We went on a Friday afternoon, we got there around 1:30pm the sun was pretty high and the sand was hot, we wanted to rent beach chairs and an umbrella for shade and the gentleman there greeted us and said that’s what he had to offer so we paid about $30 for that. The waves were high but we stayed on the edge. It was such a relaxing, enjoyable beach to visit. I recommend this beach to anyone trying to take in the beauty of Puerto Rico. We ended up leaving by 6pm due to us being scared to drive in the narrow roads on the way there and back. But def recommend also there is a good truck selling drinks and Alcapurriaa which were so good! 10/10 recommend!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely stunning — our favorite beach in Puerto Rico! We visited Mar Chiquita Beach in Tierras Nuevas Poniente, Manatí to celebrate Kim’s birthday, and it was absolutely perfect. The drive from our VRBO in the Carolina area took about 45 minutes and was completely worth it. The winding road and the view as we crested the last hill down toward the beach were breathtaking. Parking is free (though sandy), and even on a Tuesday in the off-season, a few food trucks were open. We brought our own food and drinks and immediately wished we’d brought snorkel gear — the moment we saw the crystal-clear water inside the seashell-shaped bay, we knew it was a snorkeler’s paradise. The bay is surrounded by towering, jagged reef cliffs, creating a sheltered, magical lagoon. We found a shaded spot on the far side where we could easily access the water but still enjoy both sun and shade. The water was refreshingly cool, not too warm, and the waves were big but gentle. Inside the reef, we spotted lots of colorful fish, sea urchins, and chitons, plus crabs and anoles along the rocks. We even watched a hawk swoop down to catch a fish — a total National Geographic moment! My drone footage from here was incredible — the turquoise water against the golden cliffs is unreal. Even as the day got busier, we never felt crowded. One couple’s barking dog broke the peace for a bit, but they didn’t stay long. Unfortunately, we did notice some litter despite plenty of trash bins, which is disappointing. Before we left, we explored the cool caves near the exit — a must-see if you visit! We even had to tie up our cooler after a friendly stray dog tried to snag a snack (probably feeding puppies nearby). This beach is safe for swimming — no rip currents, calm surf inside the cove, and incredible scenery. It was our favorite beach of the entire trip, hands down. If you’re visiting Puerto Rico, make a day of it here — you won’t regret it. 🌊🐠☀️

Absolutely a beautiful landlocked beach. The waves do crash over the lock and create a little wave pool. Crystal clear waters and some sea life living in the lock. No, there are no sharks so bring some goggles and a snorkel and enjoy the little fish. Food trucks on site, souvenirs and you can even get a massage if you catch the young lady there Thursday to Sunday. 1 down side, no public restrooms. The portapotties are owned by the guys who rent the beach umbrellas and chairs so you have to pay to use them.

We did the ‘regular’ zip lines and had a lot of fun! There were 8 runs and the views were spectacular. We also watched several people do the ‘Monster’ run and it looked wild! Also the drive up the mountain was scenic and fun!

Best/only way to experience Toro Verde Park from San Juan with transportation. Park is a couple hours outside of San Juan and if you don't rent a car, there's no way there. Tour went well - the bus driver/guide was pleasant enough and got us to the park safely. The park itself isn't really a tour, it's more like you've paid for transportation to the park and for the tickets for the ziplines which worked perfectly for us. The bus doesn't play around with people not being at their designated spot on time - be there or you'll be left. Toro Verde is amazing and the ziplines are beautiful. Lots of places to sit and relax if you're not into Ziplining.
Brandy M — Google review
Do not recommend. Worst experience ever. This place is not well managed, we made a reservation for 12:00 PM, however no one show up until 1:00PM. After tour guide showed up, we were told that we need to wait at least one more hour, and there is no guarantee. Also they do not have enough equipment to be able to take the ride, the reservation means nothing. After we got to the departure station, people there said all of them are waiting for more than an hour. So including driving, we wasted at least 5 hours.

Toro Verde Adventure Park, located in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, is an adrenaline-seeker's paradise. The park boasts the longest zipline in America, 'The Monster,' which spans over 1.5 miles and reaches speeds of up to 95mph. Additionally, visitors can experience 'The Beast,' one of the world's longest single-run ziplines at 4,745 feet.
My wife and I visited Toro Verde in Puerto Rico and purchased the couples package — and it was truly an unforgettable experience! From start to finish, everything was well-organized, safe, and full of excitement. The ziplining was absolutely thrilling, and the views were out of this world. What really surprised us was how amazing the food was — delicious, fresh, and the perfect way to end an adventurous day. The staff was friendly and made us feel comfortable the entire time. If you’re looking for a mix of adrenaline, beauty, and quality time with a loved one, Toro Verde is a must-visit !

I went here to celebrate my birthday and do el monstro zip line. The longest fastest zip line in the world! What an amazing and beautiful experience. This was the fist time I’d zip lined in the Superman position but seeing the beauty beneath you makes the ride beautiful and worth it! This made me appreciate nature and the world! You have to do it to understand. I want to go back once I return to PR! The ride up there is also beautiful you will pass a few waterfalls on the way up take your time and have your camera ready!

This was one of the most recommended places to go while visiting for our honeymoon and it did not disappoint! We did the Zipline tour and also the Monster. The views were absolutely breathtaking. The entire experience was amazing and the tour guides were humorous, friendly, encouraging, and kind which made the experience even better. The road to get there is quite curvy if you’re prone to motion sickness but the zip-lining itself didn’t affect that for me at all. For the monster, the scariest part is getting into a plank position and lifting your arms. After that, it’s easy. Totally worth it! 9/18/25 Zipline- Angelica, Isaac, Eric 12pm Tour Tour guides were amazing, especially Angelica!

ToroVerde was awesome!! What a real zip line experience is supposed to be like. We had fun going thru all 8 ziplines including The Monstrou! I purchased our package deal thru our hotel stay for an affordable price which included transportation to & from the park. Our driver was Jerry Laguna & he was the best!! He was so helpful & very wise to the history of San Juan & the island of PR. All the ziplines were so fun & the staff there are very professional. Everyone is knowledgeable to attention to detail. Our guides on 10/30 were Julio & Angelica. They made us feel comfortable every step of the way. When we were finished we had a lunch waiting for us & our bus was ready to return us to our hotel. We visited the novelty shop w/reasonably priced items. This was a def must see & explore moment. I’ll recommend all my friends to give Toro Verde & The Monster a Go!!

AMAZING!!!! Cannot believe it’s not talked about enough. Claudia & Christian service just added to the experience for the seven zip lines. Made us laugh & confident the whole tour, added music & were super friendly the whole time. Felt like I was in a private tour because it was very slow so we were just 4 people. Guess we might’ve gotten lucky with that, so might not be the same for everybody. But worth every single CENT! Paid $115 per person for all you can do & wow an experience u HAVE to do if u come to Puerto Rico.

We had a wonderful experience. I do think a little more information could have been communicated while waiting for the 1st tour at 9am to start. Got there at 8 & waited around to do the zipline bikes at 9am. Great experience! Do the Monster! It was amazingly terrifyingly fun!

Puerto Nuevo Playa de Vega Baja Beach is a stunning destination with crystal-clear waters and picturesque rocks. The shallow, protected area makes it ideal for families with young children, but wearing water shoes is recommended due to the presence of sharp shell bits in some areas. The beach offers amenities such as showers, bathrooms, and ample trash cans, along with convenient parking for a small fee. Visitors can also enjoy food trucks nearby.
Very cool, underrated beach. There is an area protected by the rocks thats great for first time snorkeling. The big waves get broken up by the rocks and cascade down into the pool. It's very beautiful. The wind picked up later in the day though.

First time visiting, and I was really impressed. The beach is beautiful, clean, and the water is crystal clear, making it an ideal spot for families. One side of the beach offers shade, while the other has small, gentle waves, perfect for kids to play in. Parking is affordable at $5, and you can rent chairs and umbrellas for extra comfort. There are also outdoor showers, which is a nice touch after a day in the sand. The views are stunning, and it’s definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. However, one downside I noticed was a vacant building nearby that isn’t boarded up, which could be a safety concern. It seems like a place where homeless individuals might hang out, and there’s potential for it to be used for drugs. Keep an eye on your kids, especially in that area. Other than that, it's a great spot to spend the day!
MIMI C — Google review
Excellent beach area, soft sand entry gradually reaching depth of approx 15 ft at swimming rope on the west side, biggest beach area. There is a smaller pool area where flows over rocks that is shallow reaching 10 to 15 feet near rocks. Water is generally very clear. There are many food trucks and plenty of trash bins to keep beach clean. Beach is cleaned every morning, the best time to go! Parking is $5 and worth it, else parking is very difficult outside parking lot. There appear to be bathrooms but I am not certain they are usable.

Puerto Nuevo Beach is the #1 beach for the public in the north side of PR in my opinion. It has everything you need / are looking for: long stretches of beach with one being a swimming wave side for adults and a cove area or “pocita” for children. This beach is very much family friendly with both shower and restrooms facilities that are free of charge and in good condition. Amo a mi Isla!

A “Blue Flag” beach in PR. Been coming here for years and very popular with locals & tourists and family friendly. A beautiful beach. Some entrepreneurs on the beach selling mixed drinks and ice cream. $5 parking (8am-5pm) with decent bathroom facilities. Chair / umbrella rentals on the beach but no food or drink establishments /amenities on the beach although you will find small business operations (food and alcohol) on the perimeter of the beach. Today I didn’t bring any food / snacks and found the perimeter businesses sufficient in fulfilling my needs so I will support the local economy going forward. Gets packed on weekends and holidays so take note, today is a Wednesday and there’s a good size crowd here. Be back in a couple of days.

It serves as an ideal training and rehabilitation area for athletes, offering a tranquil atmosphere particularly in the mornings. This family-friendly destination provides a safe and enjoyable environment for children to have fun while visiting.
Amazing place to visit. Discounts if tour from the south, or a veteran. The scenery is beautiful. Mountains as a back drop. Everyone that worked there was pleasant and helpful. Food was great. Affordable. You can plan a whole day trip there. Stay on the kids side for half the day then bring them over to the wave pool and other kids stations for the other half. Don't forget to visit the museum and the obstacle course. .

Do not visit the water park during the summer on weekends. They over sell tickets and use the green areas to park the extra people. Since every gazebo and table with umbrella are for purchase it just leaves a small amount of sitting and tables for regular admission. So every body from regular admission ends up sitting on the floor or green areas. I went in at 10:00am and there was already nothing left. It was just too crowded to enjoy. Lines for the rides will be 45 to more than an hour long. Kids were already exhausted after the first line. The wave pool was so crowded that when the wave started you were going to get bumped and stepped on by other swimmers. The shortest line for food was 15 to 20 minutes and that was the pizza kiosk. The rest of the kiosk, the wait for food was 30 minute or more, and that included the purchase of water. They have no water fountains, no vending machines, so if you need a water bottle, you will have to wait with luck 15 minutes in the pizza kiosk. My father is a diabetic and had a sugar deficit, we needed sugar and the line to purchase soda was just too long. Thanks to a visiting neighbor who observe the situation and already had her husband in the line for one of the food kiosk asked him for the favor. Her husband ended up purchasing the soda for my fathers sugar deficit situation. I am not going to criticize the no food policy. Almost every water park has it, and at least this one has re-entry, so you can go to your car for food and snacks. How ever they need to have better access to food and water. Someone with a low blood sugar, or suffering from dehydration that will require quick access to water or food would be in a serious pickle since there is nothing quick when it comes to purchasing food or beverages. Last, 3 of the water slides from isla chiquitines were not working.

I came a few years ago and loved it. I came again today with some family from the states, and I have to say what a disappointment. It has a lot of attractions closed "still" because of Hurricane Maria. What about the government??? Why can't they do something and fix it up. It's a beautiful family place to go and have a blast. It's also a wonderful attraction for tourists. Please GOVERNMENT do something about this great place. Thank you

Nestled just outside San Juan in Catano, Casa BACARDÍ is a must-visit for anyone exploring Puerto Rico. This iconic rum distillery offers an engaging experience that combines history and mixology. Visitors can embark on a fascinating tour through the new visitor center, where stunning views of the harbor and Old San Juan await. The journey delves into the rich heritage of sugar cane cultivation in the Caribbean and reveals how rum production began on these vibrant islands.
I've been wanting to come here for years but other priorities always came up. I decided on the Mixology class and it was truly worth it . The instructor was informative and entertaining and the class lasted around 45 minutes but the tour itself was about an hour and a half. The grounds are beautiful and you can order different delicious dishes from the food station, however they don't accept cash or Amex for food purchases and I'm not for certain inside the merchandise store. Also it's best to purchase your tickets in advance due to them selling out.

This was a nice excursion. We bought (a month in advance) a combination of the Legacy tour and the fast ferry from Old San Juan. The boat doesn't run very often, so even though our Bacardi tour was supposed to start at 5:15 PM, we had to take the boat at 3:00 PM. Please be aware of this, we met a couple onboard that had booked the 3:30 PM Bacardi tour, and as they took the 3 p.m.-boat, they were late for their tour. The boat takes about 12 minutes. On the other side, there is a shuttle bus waiting, which is supposed to take 10 minutes to Casa Bacardi, however, it used 20 minutes due to the traffic. Arriving Casa Bacardi, we "checked in", and were given a token that could be exchanged for a Bacardi drink at the bar. It was also possible to buy some food (tacos, chips, etc.), and we relaxed in the shade while we waited for our tour. You are called out when the tour is going to start, and then you have to pay attention. All tours are fully booked weeks ahead, and if you are late, you will not be able to join another group that day, even now in the low season. The tour was interesting. First a short "bus" tour of a few minutes, and then a short tour inside an exhibition room. On this Legacy tour you do not see the actual production, but hear about the history, and our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. At the end of the tour we got to taste a 10 year old Bacardi. Afterwards we took the shuttle bus back to the fast ferry. This was the only bad thing about this excursion, because the bus only runs once an hour, and is not coordinated with the fast ferry, which also only departs once an hour. Thus we had to wait for almost 45 minutes at the ferry terminal. But all in all a great excursion
Anne L — Google review
Our tour guide was so entertaining. You get a complimentary drink and a tasting for $40. The foodstand was surprisingly pretty good. The trip over on the ferry from San Juan was 25 cents round trip for seniors. As soon as we got off the ferry the shuttle for casa BACARDÍ was right there to pick us up even though we didn’t reserve ahead of time. After the tour the shuttle was waiting to bring us back to the ferry. Such a smooth and organized event.

We took the historic tour and Alexandra was amazing. She was full of enthusiasm, energy and captured the audience. Her personality made all the difference. We received a coin for a free drink and the Piña colada was better than the Barra china. Her recommendation of making the 8 year BACARDÍ mix w coconut ice cubes is our new and improved mix. We also have a taste of the Reserve special Rum , a great treat! Thank you Alexandra! ☺️

Tour guide was great. There is plenty of parking and the facility are beautiful. Staff is very friendly. They give you a coin for an included drink if you choose to do the mixology class. Highly recommend the mixology class. Super fun. Not as long as I thought given we only did 2 drinks. But still very fun and worth the experience. The tour itself is also short. Not a lot to show. And I thought we would see the inside of the factory but no. Is only the outside

Sights & Landmarks
Castillo San Felipe del Morro, also known as El Morro, is a 16th-century Spanish fortification located on a promontory in Old San Juan. The fort features cannons pointing seaward and boasts an impressive display of military defense with four levels of cannon-bearing batteries rising 140 feet from the sea. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the shore and explore the expansive grassy lawn surrounding the fort.
An Unforgettable Visit to Castillo San Felipe del Morro Visiting El Morro was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Puerto Rico. The moment you arrive, you can feel the history and pride that this fortress represents. Built in the 16th century by the Spanish, the structure stands majestically overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, offering breathtaking views and a deep sense of connection to the island’s past. The site is beautifully maintained — the grounds are clean, the pathways are easy to follow, and the walls and cannons have been wonderfully preserved. The staff members were not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating facts and stories that helped bring the history of the fort to life. We spent a good amount of time exploring the tunnels, ramps, and lookout points, each one revealing another layer of the fort’s impressive design and purpose. It’s a great spot for both history lovers and families, with plenty of open space for walking and taking photos. Parking was convenient, with a nearby lot just a short walk away. I highly recommend adding Castillo San Felipe del Morro to your list when visiting Old San Juan — it’s more than just a landmark, it’s a journey back in time that leaves you proud and inspired.

The views of the ocean and city are unreal — you can truly feel the history in every corner. Standing on those walls with the sea breeze and sound of the waves was such a peaceful, magical moment. A place you can’t miss when visiting Puerto Rico! 🇵🇷✨

Absolutely Divine and Super Fun Experience! Visiting Castillo San Felipe del Morro in San Juan, Puerto Rico, was an absolutely divine and unforgettable experience. From the moment you walk toward the massive fortress, you can feel the weight of history and the pride of Puerto Rico’s past. The thick stone walls, ancient cannons, and winding tunnels tell stories of centuries gone by — and yet the place feels so alive, filled with light, breeze, and joy. The views are breathtaking. Standing at the top of the fortress, looking out at the endless Atlantic Ocean, you truly understand why El Morro is one of Puerto Rico’s most iconic landmarks. The vast green lawn in front of the fort is perfect for relaxing, having a picnic, or flying kites with family and friends — something you’ll see locals and visitors enjoying all day long. Walking through the different levels of the fortress feels like stepping back in time. Every corner offers something unique — stunning views, photo opportunities, and a sense of peace that’s hard to describe. The site is beautifully preserved and very clean, and the park rangers are friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to share stories about the history of the fort. If you can, visit in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat and enjoy the soft ocean breeze. And don’t miss the sunset — the golden light reflecting off the stone walls and the ocean waves creates a magical scene you’ll never forget. Overall, El Morro is an absolute must-see when visiting San Juan. It combines history, natural beauty, and fun in a way that perfectly captures the spirit of Puerto Rico. From the moment you walk across the big green lawn toward the fort, you get why this place is on postcards and license plates. Inside, it’s a maze of ramps, tunnels, cannons, and lookout towers, all built to guard San Juan from attacks coming in by sea. You can wander through multiple levels, peek out from the garitas, and look back at the city framed by the Atlantic—every turn feels like a new photo angle. What I liked most: • Views for days – panoramic shots of the ocean, city walls, and Old San Juan. You could happily burn half your phone battery just on photos. • History you can feel – clear signage, restored spaces, and enough detail to keep history buffs happy without overwhelming casual visitors. • Space to slow down – you can explore at your own pace instead of being herded in a big tour group. Good to know: • There are lots of stairs, ramps, and uneven stone floors—wear real shoes, not flimsy sandals. • The sun and heat are no joke on the upper levels and open areas. Bring water, a hat, and sunscreen. • Your ticket/pass also covers the other major fort in Old San Juan, which makes it an even better value if you want to make a half-day of it. If you’re visiting Old San Juan and skip El Morro, you’re basically skipping the island’s headline chapter. It’s a must-do—whether you’re into history, photography, or just want to stand somewhere that makes you feel very small in the best way.

This place is massive. If you attempt to walk the entire grounds definitely wear great walking shoes. Additionally you should have sunscreen, water, and snacks as this place took 4 hours to walk the entire property. Watch out for pickpockets as a member of our group was targeted. Overall even with the theft the whole place was a great adventure.

Such an incredible place to visit! A unique piece of OLD history right here in "the New World". A must-see in PR! The sites (the Castillo de San Felipe fort as well as Castillo San Cristobal) are well marked with interesting historical and educational information in Spanish and English. The National Park visitor center was informative. We happened to visit during the Government shutdown Oct. 2025 but the local government and good people of PR made sure to keep the site open to visitors and all of the staff that interacted with was so friendly and helpful. The sites are well kept, and visitors have many options of places to explore (tunnels, rooms, etc). There are clean bathroom facilities at each as well as drinking fountains, but it's still a good idea to bring a water bottle.

My opinion, it was an experience of a lifetime. Being of Puerto Rican decent, it was amazing to see and experience what it was like to be at the fortress. Reading about the fortress and seeing the artifacts was amazing. If in Puerto Rico, I recommend going. I'll be going again on my next trip there.

It's a beautiful fortress. It's sad to hear that so many soldiers died here, but the fort itself feels beautifully constructed, taking advantage of the natural beauty. The $10 admission fee feels a bit steep.

San Juan National Historic Site, established in 1949, is a combination of El Morro and San Cristobal forts operated by the National Park Service. The site played a crucial role in Spanish defense efforts and control of the Caribbean route for over 250 years. Visitors can explore the forts' tunnels, dungeons, ramps, and barracks while learning about their rich history.
Beautiful, historic fort overlooking the harbor. Many areas are in direct sun so use sunscreen if necessary. There are quite a few stairs to the water level. You will have to pay admission but it's good for both forts in a 24 hour period. San Felipe is really close to the old town historic area. Worth a visit if you like history and learning new things about San Juan.

This is a great place to learn about Puerto Rico's 's history and colonial past. There is plenty to see throughout the whole historian site. I will warn that four-wheelter as he could be a little difficult getting around as this building is from the 1500s. Considering this is a story site, you would think that the United States would do a better job at making it a little more accessible. We used to be able to go down to the lower parts but now those are blocked off. You can still reach the top through A ramp. You are in a wheelchair. If you have issues with heat, make sure you bring plenty of water because it's just gets very hot in there really is no air conditioner. Is a great place for pictures, kite flying, I'm just hanging out on the grass. If you are someone who has a national parks pass, you can get into this place for free. If you have a disability you can apply for one on their website.

The fortress is MASSIVE and so well-preserved. You can really imagine what life was like when soldiers were stationed here hundreds of years ago. The views of the ocean are absolutely stunning - bring your camera! I could have spent hours just taking photos from the different levels. There are so many rooms, tunnels and lookout spots to explore. The staff was friendly and they have these little exhibits explaining the history. I had no idea the fort was attacked so many times throughout history! If you're in San Juan, this is absolutely a must-see. Give yourself at least 2 hours to really explore it properly.

It's a special and magical place, because you can enjoy it with your family. The oldest remember their childhood while teaching their children about the island history and how to fly a homemade kite or "chiringa". You can enjoy a sunny and breezy day around the sea! Also, the pets enjoying a funny day with the family.

Beautiful place with a lot of history but be prepared to walk up/down stairs and inclines to see each section

Just WOW! The history that I was able to experience here was just out of this world. We were able to walk around in all sorts of areas where there were bunkers, jail cells, hidden passageways, and gorgeous 360 views. Afterwards, you can walk the long way around close to the water, but be aware that you must walk all the way around, there are no ways to veer off! Going here is definitely a must do when visiting San Juan! Also be sure to bring your Passport to Your National Parks so you can get your cancellation stamp!!!!

Absolutely gorgeous and very humbling. A must-see! We did not go inside but the outside views alone were worth the trip!

Worth the walking and reasonable walk from the square. A bit of uphill walking and recommend walking on right side then going left as the walk would be a bit easier. If you buy a ticket for Historic Site, you can visit the other location with receipt.

The Gothic-style cathedral can be accessed through the San Juan Gate and features beautiful stained glass windows, domes, and ceiling architecture. It offers a serene atmosphere for quiet contemplation or prayer.
The oldest cathedral in the United States! Such a beautiful historic site. The stained glass and the statues are incredible to admire. The cathedral itself is peaceful, a nice change from the rest of busy Old San Juan. Also, it is free to enter although donations are encouraged.

Catedral de San Juan Bautista is a must-see while in Old San Juan. The tranquill atmosphere and stunning architecture are captivating. It's a serene place to both admire the beautiful stained glass windows and feel the weight of its long history, particularly when visiting the tomb of Juan Ponce de León. The cathedral is an active place of worship but is very welcoming to visitors, making it a perfect, quick stop during a walk through the city.

Begin your exploration of Old San Juan at the impressive Castillo San Cristóbal, a heavily fortified citadel constructed between 1765 and 1785. This historic fort, which is the largest among the Spanish-built forts in the Americas, played a significant role in Puerto Rico's history. It offers panoramic views of the coastline, Condado, and Old San Juan.
It's a place where you can learn about history and enjoy stunning views. The admission fee is $10, but since my husband is in the military, we were able to enter for free. The weather can be unpredictable, so I recommend bringing a raincoat.

We really did enjoy visiting this location and the tour of the facility. This excursion was part of our cruise visit to San Juan, and we are glad that we selected the fort for our activity during the trip. The fort's historical and paranormal aspects motivated us to include it on our list of places to visit, and we are pleased to have checked it off our bucket list. Highly recommended if you find yourself in the San Juan area.

This place is breathtaking. The views are stunning. Definitely a must visit in PR. It’s within the beautiful Old San Juan so a lot to see around. Their gift shop is really nice and has interesting books about Taino culture, Puerto Rico, and US Parks. You can get your park passport stamp here as well.

So I was here in port on the Carnival Venezia 11/4/25. We had a rainforest tour , San Cristobal Castle tour and Old San Juan Walking Tour from 7am to 3pm. It was a pretty good deal. We only had 45 minutes in the castle and we needed about three hours to see the whole thing. It was built in 1634 and it took 150 years to build . If you are here , it’s a must see !! With your pass , you also get access to the castle down the road (1mile) because it is all owed and run by the federal government (USA) as a national historic site . Please go , you won’t be disappointed !!

A Truly Amazing and Historic Experience! Visiting Castillo San Cristóbal in San Juan, Puerto Rico, was an incredible, fun, and deeply memorable experience. This massive fortress, built by the Spanish to protect the city from attacks, is one of the most impressive historical sites on the island. Walking through its tunnels, climbing its walls, and looking out over the ocean and Old San Juan feels like stepping back in time. The fort is beautifully preserved, and every corner tells a story. You can explore underground passages, dungeons, and lookout towers that once defended the city. The views are absolutely breathtaking — from the top, you can see El Morro, the blue ocean stretching endlessly, and the colorful houses of Old San Juan. It’s open every day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and I recommend arriving early to enjoy the peaceful morning breeze and take amazing photos before it gets crowded. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to explain the fascinating history behind each section of the fort. What I loved most was the mix of history, architecture, and nature. The sound of the waves crashing against the walls, the salty air, and the warmth of the sun make this place truly special. Whether you’re a history lover, a photographer, or simply someone who enjoys beautiful places, Castillo San Cristóbal is a must-visit! I left with a deep appreciation for Puerto Rico’s rich culture and resilience. A divine experience from start to finish — highly recommended! 🇵🇷💙 #CastilloSanCristobal #SanJuan #PuertoRico #OldSanJuan #HistoricFort #TravelParadise #PuertoRicoMagic #IslandVibes #CaribbeanAdventure #UnforgettableViews

$10 for adults. Free for those under 15. Definitely worth checking out. Expect to walk a lot. Nice bathrooms. Bring bottled water and snacks. Credit card only! Yes AMEX accepted. But no cash ... Side note, pay for entry here, and you also get in free to the other castle that's about 15 min walk away. Great idea to come here, and expect to stay two hours in my opinion. Would love to have done a guided tour but did a self tour.

A Must-See Piece of Puerto Rican History! Visiting San Cristóbal Castle was one of the highlights of my trip to Old San Juan. The views alone are worth the visit—panoramic sights of the Atlantic Ocean and the colorful city below. You can really feel the history walking through the tunnels, dungeons, and massive stone walls. The fortress is incredibly well-preserved, and the info plaques throughout make it easy to understand how it was used to defend the island. I recommend going early in the day to beat the heat and crowds. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water—it’s a lot of walking, but so worth it. Whether you're into history, photography, or just taking in some of the best views on the island, San Cristóbal is a must-visit in Puerto Rico.

Went here with my family Halloween night for the Soul Screams Halloween event. It was a fun time even though it was raining. I definitely recommend it if you’re looking for something fun to do during the Halloween season. Couldn’t use the camera once inside, but while walking in line and waiting to get in we were able to. They had a stage set up where they kept us entertained with music and little dance off competitions. They did a pretty good job keeping us engaged throughout the wait, some of the characters walked through the line and chatted w you and even posed for pictures and videos. Thank you team Soul Screams. I forget how many houses they had but I believe it was between 6 and 8. So not bad at all.

Cute place for a walk, but definitely needs some TLC and upkeep. Needs to be supported by more tourism, great place to learn about local culture and history but needs to be maintained. Would be a great place for a date, picnic, live music, movie night, etc. it has so much space!!! Needs more flowers too. Lots of turtles

It was a great walk through lots of native plants, from beautiful flowers to fruiting trees. Plenty of wildlife around from birds to iguanas and egrets. They have the jurassic theme throughout for the kids too. Animated dinosaurs that are motion activated. We walked over a mile.

Such a beautiful location! There is so much to see, there is a koi pond with lillies and turtles, there are birds and iguanas that hang out by the water, and there is so much natural plant life to see. There are places to sit for a snack, and a lot of natural sensory stimulation can for kids. What I liked most is that you can roam freely. There aren’t people following you around and you can really explore in a natural way. Kids under 2 enter free and it was only $6 for me and my mom to enter with my 1yo ☺️

The gardens have a nice layout but we were visiting in July and there were almost no flowers. While it is expected that there would be limited flowers due to the season, most gardens like this plant a range of flowering plants to provide something for the whole season. The property also felt like it needed lits of maintenance. Wooden boardwalks were showing visible signs of rot and other sections definitely needed some attention. It made for a nice walk but had I known what it was like, wouldn’t have spent the money and time to visit.

My town throughout the years this Plaza has changed my Grandmother use to tell me in her years it was full of easy women. Then for my Mom's years it was the meeting place for the young and the men will walk one way and the women the other day so they can look at each other and meet....the in my times there were a lot of stores and was always full of people mostly dirty. I also remember there were turtles in an enclosure and I think there was a monkey. In all now is a nice place to walk with the family....

The area is rich in biodiversity, with Punta Tuna Wetlands Nature Reserve showcasing vibrant mangroves and wetlands teeming with birds and sea turtles.
This was such a beautiful Lighthouse😀 The scenery around it was BEAUTIFUL because you have the ocean all around. There is also a secret pathway before the gate to the left, go down and follow the path (3 minute walk) and it takes you to the beach. Look to the right and you will see the turtle rock formation 👍👍😀🤩

Disappointing, such a beautiful place not being taken care of. If mowing the lawn is enough to be considered as maintaining I’m not in agreement!!!! It’s a tourist spot with such vibrant and lush history that needs to be displayed. If I was in charge I would hire professional to restore the building back to its glory!!! Allowing walk about for free but light house tours with a fee, fees will then go back into maintaining the historical building.
Ethan S — Google review
Lost a star because it's closed to the public. There is an easy way to get to it but you need to go down a path that runs along the perimeter of the fence and property and then all is good. The path is not good for elderly or disabled. The views are 5 stars and well and worth the small walk on the path. It's an amazing place and it's sad to see it abandoned. Major fail on the gov. part. I highly recommend taking a few extra moments to walk down onto Playa Largo, I shared images there also so you can see. There's a natural window that makes for some amazing photos. Enjoy!

Absolutely Beautiful Park. We drove from San Juan and the views getting here were good, but once we made it to the property we were blown away. Kayak Monkey Island is a unique adventure located off the eastern coast of Puerto Rico near Humacao. In the 1930s, rhesus macaques were brought to the island for a primate study and they continue to thrive there today. While visitors are not allowed on the island itself, kayak rentals are available for a 0.5-mile trip to observe the monkeys from the water. Boat trips are also an option for those who prefer not to kayak.
This is a once in a lifetime experience! Our guide, Keishya, was incredibly knowledgeable about the island’s history and the lives of the monkeys that live there. She is diligent about safety and making sure all participants felt comfortable ocean kayaking (it was our first time). If you’re lucky enough to get a booking with Keishya, do not hesitate!

This experience topped them all!!! Want to observe monkeys from a safe distance? Want to have amazing views along the way of Vieques, Humacao, Punta Santiago and the windmill farm? Want to do it with the most experienced and well versed person in this area that I ever had the pleasure of encountering? Then quit reading my post and give them a call :)! Best decision I ever made for a tour. The knowledge and insight you will gain while also feeling safe and getting to observe monkeys in their natural habitat. I don’t know what more you could ask for. I rarellyyy right reviews but I was so impressed with this tour that I wanted to let everyone know how truly amazing it is.

Oh what an AMAZING kayaking tour of Monkey Island led by Keishya! I’ve lived in Puerto Rico for almost four years and this adventure is definitely in my top ten! We got to observe tribes of monkeys in their “natural” habitat - a surreal other worldly experience. Nothing like seeing the beauty of Puerto Rico while sitting atop the water. Keishya is a wonderful guide, she has high vibe energy and passion that is contagious. I highly recommend Keishya’s tour to locals and visitors of our enchanted island! 5 plus stars!

Such a unique experience in Puerto Rico and a great way to see something off the beaten path. Keishya was awesome - super responsive, on time, organized, and had everything we could possibly need in terms of gear for the adventure (water shoes, dry bags, you name it!). She was a great guide and provided a brief history of monkey island while also making sure to keep the tour at a gentle pace we could keep up with (we hadn't been in a kayak for maybe 7 years!). We couldn't have asked for a better experience, this was one of the coolest, most unexpected finds. I appreciated Keishya's respect for the wildlife and protected areas, and the lengths she went to to make sure that the monkeys remained undisturbed while we had an amazing view from a safe distance. Thank you, Keishya!

Keishya was a great tour guide. We saw tons of monkeys. Paddling was not hard, and there were some nice float times. Note: Weather plays a big part in this tour. It's best to book early in your trip with flexibility to switch days if the weather isn't cooperating. Keishya is very safety conscious, and after doing the tour, I can appreciate why. Our day the sea was fairly flat when we went out in the morning. About an hour after we got back, the wind kicked up, and the sea got roughly quick. Be sure to put sunscreen on the front of your legs.

Perfect adventure if you’re looking for something different. Keishya is the best guide, her energy, respect, love and wisdom towards nature is a gift. Kayaks and life vests are in great condition, dry bags are a great added bonus, lots of great information about the monkey island history is provided. If you got a long lens camera bring it because it will guarantee the best pictures. Keishya will guide you thru every step so even if you’re a beginner you’ll be safe as long as you follow directions. Overall great experience, i’d gladly do it again!

We had an incredible time with Keishya on an afternoon tour of Monkey Island with our friends. She was very informative about the island and patient with our lack of kayaking experience. We saw many monkeys and a few large iguanas. We did not find paddling to the island difficult, once we arrived we were able to get out and relax in the water off shore the island with excellent views of lots of monkeys. She was very Covid conscious and kept her mask on the entire time even while we were in open air environments. We would definitely go back if we're in the area.

Keishya offered a spectacular tour for us! She gave great pointers on kayaking and was generous with her knowledge of the island. What a great day - highly recommend for anyone who loves a day on the crystal clear water!

Carabalí Rainforest Park is a 600-acre ranch nestled in the lush tropical jungle between El Yunque National Rainforest and the Atlantic Ocean. It offers a variety of outdoor activities such as go-karting, horseback riding, zip-lining, mountain biking, and ATV tours. Visitors can explore the unique ecosystem of El Yunque National Forest, swim in the Mameyes River, or take horses to the beach.
ATV driving and Horseback riding was the highlight of our trip. It was a good activity to incorporate into our itinerary. The staff is very welcoming, friendly, and informational. They require you to arrive before your scheduled time to listen to instructions. We first did the horseback riding excursion for an hour. It contained an amazing view and a great pathway. I believe an hour is more than enough time. Our tour guide Alex was amazing! He gave us a laugh and provided us with things we should do for the rest of our time in PR. We then proceeded to the ATV area and were given even more instructions. It was slightly raining which in my opinion definitely made the ride better in the heat! We also did an hour which was a good amount of time to drive and take pictures! It was messy and muddy but we enjoyed it so much!

5-star experience! The Luquillo Beach Horse Ride with guide Ángel was incredible. Riding my beautiful horse Rescue through the forest, river, and beach was a dream. Ángel and the team were fantastic. I was also impressed by the exceptional care of the horses and the park's efficient operation. Highly recommend Carabalí Rainforest Adventure Park for an unforgettable horseback riding experience!

Horseback riding was fun. Horses are well trained, healthy, and stayed to course. Tour guides were awesome. ATVs was alright, I'd suggest doing the 2hr tour, it should be more exciting. The 1hr was to laxed for me. I like to have fun on the ATVs, this tour was so chill, we never even made it to speeds of 20 unless we fell back some. Our tour guide Jamidel was cool tho and the views at the stops were nice.

Did the UTV this morning for the first time and it was absolutely AMAZING!! Harry was the BEST tour guide (and photographer) He was very informative and you could tell he was so proud of his beautiful island Puerto Rico!! Really enjoyed the tour today and getting to experience the rainforest in another way that wasn’t hiking :) I would recommend this place to anybody visiting PR!!

This tour was the best. We did the two hours with CARLOS. He was amazing very informative and safe guide. The scenery of this rainforest was nothing less of Amazing. It was nice to see the different type of animals, although same breeds as back home with some differences like the ball with the longhorn, enormous iguanas or salamander, etc.,

We booked horse back riding and horse back riding back to back with an hour and half inbetween to spare and we also ate at their restaurant. I really enjoyed this adventure all of the staff was so nice and could really tell they all enjoy their job they were very enthusiastic about the ATVS and horses. Shout out Alex Miguel as well as the women in the orentation in the beginning, an Edwin from the ATVS

An amazing experience if you are driving an ATV! Beautiful scenery of El Yunque. Did the 1 hour ride and it was so much fun riding the ATV. Very detailed with safety and instructions. Brennan was our tour guide as we followed him through the rainforest. Great food and fresh coconut water at midway point. There are rivers to stop at and put your feet in. Highly recommend this on your visit to Puerto Rico.

This place is amazing! You won't regret taking this tour! Our tour guide Cesar was awesome! He was very informative and knowledgeable about the area and was very friendly. It's even better when it's raining and muddy.

Luquillo Beach Hostel offers a laid-back atmosphere with simple dorms and private rooms. The hostel features a gazebo and a rooftop deck with a BBQ grill, perfect for enjoying the beach vibes. For those who prefer camping, Hacienda Monte Rey and Balneario La Monserrate offer tent grounds in a dreamy beach setting. Guests can enjoy the sounds of waves and nature for a blissful sleep.
Super nice rooms, the staff is very sweet and helpful and the roof terrace was perfect. We felt safe and welcome here and decided to stay 7 instead of 4 nights because we loved it so much. Luquillo Beach is within walking distance, as well as nice restaurants and cafés. Sure, the roosters make some noise, but unless you are a very light sleeper, it is no problem at all with the ear plugs provided by the host. We absolutely recommend this place!

Canceled my reservation due to most recent review. I have plans to stay in the area in a few weeks and wanted to confirm my reservation. I have called several times and no one has answered me or returned my messages. Seeing that people arrived there with no one at the door and no answer is the exact thing I’m trying to avoid. Glad I read it to confirm my suspicions. Decided to go with a much more responsive and reliable establishment.

Simple Air BNB styled. Clean room. We stayed there to feel more connected the the Real PR. You'll wake up to roosters and be greated by cats. A pleasant little dive bar just feet away and the roof top is nice. Will go again.

I stayed for 6 days. I LOVE IT and will go back again for sure. The rooms were very clean and private. Very down to earth experience, felt like I was living there again. Souring noises just make me feel like I was back home. Good comunication with staff. Feets away from the beach La Pared. 5 minutes from Luquillos kioskos. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for Me. Thank you

Loved our week long stay! Rooms are comfortable and air conditioned! The local flavor was everywhere. Loved the culture next door-didn't even notice them after the first day! Walk to the beach and restaurants. Will definitely be staying again!

Unfortunately this was a very disappointing experience with poor communication from property management and unsanitary and unsafe conditions. I strongly urge would-be guests to stay in local rentals instead, which can be found for a similar or lower price. Property management is severely non-responsive once a reservation has been booker. Phone calls or texts took several hours to be returned, and there was no staff on-site that we could see until the next day after check-in. It took nearly two hours after check-in to get the WiFi password. The advertised ear plugs to block out the sound of the morning roosters (which are loud) were not offered. Despite ongoing concerns with the COVID-19 public health emergency, there was no hand or body soap in the unit (let alone shampoo) and the sanitizer dispenser was empty. When I asked the property manager about this, I was told that they had "run out" and that I should go buy my own. We had not been warned about this ahead of time. The apartment did not have enough hot water for two travelers and the temperature quickly turned cool. The street that the hostel is located on has a feral animal issue, which would-be guests should be warned to take notice of but are not. The listing says that guests are required to be vaccinated or test negative for COVID-19, but the owners did not verify this. This wasn’t an issue for me but I imagine it would be concerning for those staying in a communal setting. The property was extremely poorly insulated from the outside, which meant that every passer-by could hear your conversations and you could hear everything happening outside. Be prepared to have functionally no privacy. One night, a garbage truck came through the neighborhood at 3 in the morning, waking up me and my travel companion. The apartment also has no inside latch, which left me feeling unsafe because there is no barrier between the door and the street. Anyone with the key or a copy of the key — property management, a previous guest, anyone else — could access the apartment as you slept.

Great staff, in the heart of town close to the beach and restaurants, comfortable and accommodating rooms with a nice roof terrace. The host Cylia was extremely helpful and made us feel like family. She gave us a small tour of Luquillo. Definitely coming back!!

Friendly people and a beautiful, secure, clean hostel. No hot water or A/C but honestly those two things work together in Puerto Rico in July. Bedroom is well-equipped with fans and I had no trouble sleeping. Beach is a two minute walk, breakfast at Lena's is four. Would definitely stay here again.

Terminal de Lanchas

Ferry terminal
Transportation
Ferries
I used the ferry from Fajardo to Culebra three times during my spring break vacation. This was beginning of April 2018. The first day, a Thursday, I got there at 8 am and we left the dock around 9:30 am. The second and third days, both early week days, it left like 9:10 am and was great, reliable, and cheap transportation (a mere $4.50). I'd highly recommend it. It can get a little wavy on windy days, but the staff came around with bags if anyone was sick. I was cold on the return trip (as I had been swimming and was wet) so having a jacket/sweatshirt is helpful. They do have air conditioning on the boat. You will be seated inside the boat - no people up on top deck or out in open air (for your protection as it gets wavy). I paid $3 each way for taxi service once on island to get to Flamenco beach. Regarding parking at the ferry, there is a place to park for $5. I used this the first day, and the other two days, I parked on the street for free. My experience of using the ferry was that it was very organized.

This was our first time to the ferry for Culebra. When we arrived we found a parking lot at the very end for $5. The Ferry was supposed to leave at 9. It is now 9:32 and they are JUST NOW deciding to put more fuel in the ferry, when it's been sitting here for hours. There are several lines you have to go into to end up at the final destination gate for the ferry. The lines are fairly long and some are in direct sunlight. If you're with someone who can't stand long I would suggest bringing a chair (you have to pay $1to bring a chair and you are allowed one bag for free). We've been standing here so long that I've decided to sit on the bare ground. The family beside us (also on the ground) said they had been here since 1am trying to catch the 4am ferry that left late at 5am. Apparently residents got priority and there was not enough room for everyone. It seems like leaving late is a normal around here. Be prepared for a miserable wait. Also, when you get on the ferry people will try to save seats with their bag and say it's reserved so no one sits next to them. If there's no human there, it's yours. The Ferry finally departed at 10:08
Christine W — Google review
Ferry ride was ok but like most times, you run into people who just don't know how to act like adults. Even when crew members tried to get them to stop, they refused to listen. Needs a better security system. It's also very disorganized because there are different lines for different ferry on the main Island side. Once you know where you need to be, then get ready for wait time on both sides of the ferry terminal. The price is very cheap in cost. $4 both ways total for adults.
Jose L — Google review
Just to start, you call the number available for assistance and this people never pick up the phone. This puts a bad taste in my mouth already. I just want to know how much is the ferry ride before I make an 1hour drive to the terminal. I just want to talk to a person to ask questions 😞. Bad communication...I arrived to terminal at 800am and it was crazy. Soooo many people it is almost descourage but, the Ferry fits 350 people. It took me 2 hours to get me a ticket and board ferry. Maybe the phone for assistance it's inside the old terminal, which it is closed down for "REPAIRS". Once you arrive you get a better assistance. There is guards (no policeman) everywhere who wants to help. The area looks like you are about to enter into a concert or cross a border...Food in Culebra it is expensive but of course you are in a small Island. I want to make sure you understand it is worth it (see pics please). Once you are in Flamenco Beach you will forget what you went through to make it there. When you get to the beach go to the left (less waves and nice reef in shallow waters) You can take your own snorkeling set or you can rent one in Culebra. Going back to the mainland is not as stressful as going into culebra. Enjoy.
Jorge N — Google review
Here's the thing about the Fajardo ferry...you have to use common sense when planning your trip. Don't expect to show up 30min till departure on a weekend during the summer when all the locals are taking their kids out to the islands and expect to get on the boat. If you plan your trip to Culebra or Vieques on a week day (T-F) during the school year (such as Mid-Aug through Nov) and show up a good hour early, you will be fine! We were able to get tickets with no wait, and although we had to sit on the ground we got where we needed to go. There are bathrooms in the terminal and vendors with water and food. It's a terminal not a hotel.
Chad M — Google review
If it is your first experience at this ferry be prepared for a lack of help, poor signage, long waits in the heat. (Thankfully they now have tents to wait out of the sun) The value is great compared to flying or swimming but the experience is frustrated those who like timeliness, order and efficiency. This ferry gives priority boarding to locals even if you have a ticket you might not make the ferry you have purchased a ticket to ride. It's the way it is. Locals are working to privatize the ferry to achieve a better service. Just bring your water, find the bathrooms and plan to wait in long lines as your vacation awaits you in Culebra. Be patient.
John B — Google review
The queue could be really long, better come early. The ticket price is low if you manage to get one.
Cody — Google review
I would give them zero star, this is the most terrible experience about traveling that I could describe. Please don't take this Ferry this is the most incompetent way to travel to the Island . Don't take this Ferry I am telling you, if you are a tourist you want to be relaxed, save your time, so this is the worst idea to go to Culebra or Vieques Island. Pay whatever you have to paid , and it will be worth it because the other way even though you do the line early and get the tickets you have to wait until the time they want to departure literally when ever they want, they said 9 am but that never happen. Believe me awful experience. Consider time and money that you put just to get here and you will regret not paying the flight.

Laguna Grande is a coastal lagoon in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, known for its mesmerizing bioluminescent microorganisms. It offers nighttime kayak tours that allow visitors to witness this magical natural phenomenon. The lagoon is part of the Las Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve and is considered one of the top attractions on the island.
Bioluminescent phytoplankton here are amazing, only a handful of places like this in the world. Go when there’s a new moon (no moon) and also low tide is a little better than high tide. Takes some effort to kayak in up the canal but definitely worth it. Many tour services at the Kayak Village, they will guide you up the canal through the mangrove trees, but not too tricky.
Ryan B — Google review
READ THIS OR BE DISAPPOINTED - I'd love to give these Bioluminescent Bay tours 5 stars, but this was the second time I've done a tour of a Bio Bay in the hopes of really getting a good look at the Bioluminescence, but no luck. The tour company, Tortuga's Tours, was great - well organized, excellent instructions, great guides. The problem, folks, is that the conditions need to be perfect to really see the bioluminence. It needs to be a new moon & completely dark. If the moon is out, you really won't get to see much. Luckily our tour guides knew this & brought tarps to put over us so we could kind of see the Bioluminescence when we splashed the water. Also, know that if you take the later of the tours offered you will be paddling a kayak in complete darkness through a narrow banyon grove canal with only a small light on the life vest of the person in front of you for light. The guides look after you, but it can be a bit unnerving. I thought it was cool, but a bit scary. Additionally, load up on bug spray! If you don't you'll regret it. All in all, unless conditions are perfect, skip these tours & go snorkeling instead.
Laurel M — Google review
So cool to visit at night and dip into the water to activate the plankton and bioluminescence
Raina S — Google review
Beautiful sunsets! The peacefulness and view of the sunset while waiting for darkness was almost better than the bioluminescence. The bioluminescence was also cool of course since there are only a few places in the world where you can see it.
Kent P — Google review
Luminous Bay was damaged by the hurricane in 2017 and is slowly recovering from the damages . The Guides were very enthusiastic and helpful to all of safety as well as explaining the importance of being respectful of the eco system of the Laguna Grande Bay. We found the adventure to be true and realistic 10 out of 10 on the the kayak adventure 8 out of 10 on old history of the area and knowledge of the area's eco system.
Sheldon S — Google review
The bioluminescence of the lagoon will vary greatly. Optimal viewing is during the warmer summer months and during newer moons. While a tarp overhead isn't required, it really does help block out extraneous light. #bioluminescence #mangrove #kayak #night

Cayo Icacos is an uninhabited island located off the coast of Fajardo, Puerto Rico. Accessible only by boat, this picturesque destination offers white-sand beaches and crystal-clear waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The island is part of the La Cordillera Nature Reserve, making it a haven for nature enthusiasts. Visitors can reach Cayo Icacos via catamaran or water taxi from Fajardo marina, just a short sail from the coast.
Truly one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. Words can hardly capture the breathtaking beauty of this place. The white sands are impossibly soft, and the turquoise waters sparkle under the sun like a dream. The pristine, untouched surroundings make it feel like a hidden paradise, and the cleanliness of the area adds to its charm. A place so serene and stunning, it leaves you in awe with every moment you spend there.

I can’t even describe how stunning this beach was! It’s really secluded, with nothing on the island itself, so I’d definitely recommend going with a party boat or an activity boat that includes food. 10/10 recommend

Cayo Icacos… my God! This place is an absolute dream. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by crystal clear turquoise waters, soft white sand, and total island peace. It’s like something out of a movie remote, raw, and breathtakingly beautiful. We took a boat over (pro tip: contact the locals they’ll take you there and back easily), and once we got there, it felt like we had the whole island to ourselves. I brought my drone with me, and the footage I captured was unreal blue water stretching as far as the eye can see, and the contrast with the white sand is just wow. It really shows off how stunning this place is from above. Make sure you come prepared: bring food, drinks, water, a cooler with ice, and a beach umbrella there are no vendors on the island. It’s just you and nature. Between the swimming, the snorkeling, and the quiet, this was easily one of the best beach days I’ve ever had. Cayo Icacos is a must if you’re in Puerto Rico. 10/10 experience!

Very beautiful spot to check out while in Puerto Rico. I was recently here and fell in love with the colors. There isn't much on here other than swimming and hanging on the beach. I used East Island Excursion to get here. They were amazing. Depending where the boat sets up, it can be challenging to get to the beach. I would definitely be back on my next trip.
