Restaurant
Roka Dura is one of the 16 restaurants along a scenic route, offering a laid-back atmosphere and outdoor seating with nice views. It's recommended as a great place to eat after visiting Toro Verde Park for zip lining. The restaurant has ample parking and features a boating theme with a yacht serving beer at the front. Visitors can enjoy generous portions of dishes like Mofongo with Snapper and Shrimp while taking in the spectacular views.
Maria our server was extremely helpful with the menu. She explain and recommended great items. The service was a 10 stars. The mojitos coconut and passion fruit were amazing delicious. Definitely recommended.

Great food! They got a giant pilon full of mofongo. They got two parking lots. If you are going south is the first right entrance when you see the restaurant. Beautiful view!
EL P — Google review
The views were breathtaking. Cool wind up here in the mountains feels nice. The food was not that great to be honest. The chicken and steak had no taste, no flavor and I would not return here again unfortunately. The service was amazing. The staff were very attentive but the food was not tasteful.
Wael G — Google review
This is a great place to go eat after zip lining at Toro Verde Park. The views are nice from the restaurant deck. Food: The food was decent! We tried the sampler platter, the steak, the salmon, and the grilled chicken with tostones. Overall, the food took a while to come out (they’re on island time) but it was good. Atmosphere: This is a laid back restaurant with outdoor seating. Price: Everything was normal price here. Parking: Ample parking spaces at the top, near the restaurant.
Millie O — Google review
We had a wonderful time here! The meals were great, but the coconut mojito was out of this world fantastic. Service was amazing and the views were beautiful.
Crystal S — Google review
Great location, ample space, good parking. Large variety of food selection at average prices. Dj on the weekends, and bar housed in a boat. The serve took great care of us and the food was tasty. If you go very hungry then order an appetizer as the food takes a little longer than usual to come. + bathroom had changing table for babies. Would definitely return.
Lizmarie D — Google review
We went after zip lining in Toro Verde. The view of the place is amazing. The customer service excellent, they are very kind people. The family plate is huge, the grilled chicken have a nice flavor, the "churrasco" (skirt) is juicy, the french fries and tostones are fresh and seems to be home made (not frozen). The only reazon I'm giving them a 4 stars and not 5 is because I didn't like the ribs. Not because of the flavor (they taste good) but because of the softness. Overall great place.
Jose N — Google review
Greta restaurant up in the mountains. Beautiful views and lots of options on the menu. Had a little bit of everything, the Bocaditos de Marlin were great and for the first time of having Marlin they are more fishy tasting than I would have thought, had the mofongo with different sorts of meats and they were delicious, and all the adult beverages were great too! They also have karaoke and that was a blast

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. Absolutely delicious! I was looking forward to this meal. The portion size is huge! My girlfriend and I actually shared one entree with rice and longaniza de cerdo with beans and yucca. We also ordered an appetizer, a basket of relleno de longaniza. For dessert I had the vanilla flan, it was really good. The food is absolutely delicious. The service was excellent. We had an amazing view of the valley as we ate.
Andres A — Google review
At my arrival the place was packed, don’t know if it was because the holiday but the place can’t get more crowded. They sit us right away. Just the smell of the food on the table behind us make my mouth water, literally I was dripping saliva I had to get a napkin to clean myself. Wen the food arrived I knew it will be amazing. Not only that the staff is super humble, kind and sweet the food is out of this world. The view so pretty, there’s so many things that makes this place one of the best, if I could give it more than 5 stars I will. So sad that I came here the day before my departure, otherwise I’ll drive again the almost 2 hours just to get this delicious and super organic food. Next time I come to Puerto Rico this is going to be the first place I’ll come to eat.

This historic spot is well worth the drive through the mountains. The food and service was top notch. The atmosphere and views remind you of the beauty the area offers. We had a party of 6 and sat with no problem on a Saturday afternoon. Everything came out fresh and delicious. The criollo seasoning and expert preparation comes through in every bite. Portions are generous and I definitely recommend sharing. Kid friendly and they offer unique dishes not found in most places on the island.

Amazing! It's worth the trip. Don't be shy. View was nice it felt great to be there. Rubi was our server. It was our first time there. She was amazing. She gave us excellent choices. She was friendly and diligent. We felt right at home. The place was packed, but it didn't take long. Food was well presented, hot and amazing taste. I went there with family. Google Map gave us 2 routes from the south. One from Juana Diaz and the other from Coamo. We recommend the one from Juana Díaz.

Vagoneando is a popular spot with a great atmosphere and good service. The place offers cold beers, clean bathrooms, and ample parking space. It currently allows indoor dining and has a variety of food options, from criollo dishes to delicious pizzas. The outdoor experience is fantastic, with breathtaking mountain views and fresh air. Visitors can enjoy live music and a wide selection of beers while indulging in mouthwatering dishes like mofongo and baby back ribs.
We headed out here after Toro Verde, we ordered cheese pizza and a Heineken, Moscu fresh ginger and an old fashion. Over it was pretty decent the staff is friendly.

Don’t come if you are in rush. It took exactly one hour from the order to get served. However is a nice environment to chill out.

Amazing lunch, people, place! The birthday party there made it feel like it was a party for my birthday as well! ❤❤❤ Love Puerto Rico, and it's local people!!!!!

Good beer selection, great locale and plenty parking space for BIG groups. Only tried appetizers (good), but their mofongo and the baby back ribs are out-of-this-world!

The mountainside is simply one of the best outdoor experiences. The air, the views, and the people are fantastic. We had the longaniza sliders, and it's the best surprise I've had in a long time. Outstanding!

The beers were cold. The bathrooms were clean and has enough parking lots for a big party. Right now they allow indoor dinning. By the time we went just two business were opened and was not crowded at all. The service is good though, they have good music. My cousins tried piña colada and they like it.

I was terrified going up that mountain.. 😂 😂 That food was sooooooo good.. I was thinking of sleeping there cause I didn't want to go back down 😂 😂.. The stay was outstanding.. I forgot to get a picture with the owners they are so nice... Drinks was on point too that Pina colada and that mojito... The ribs.. The rice! I just wish they could teleport you up there 😂

This is the best place we have visited in Puerto Rico! The owners are the kindest: we initially only stopped for a coffee and we ended up visiting their kitchen, and they told us about the history of the place. They even gave us some food for the road! And the food was absolutely amazing (I am vegetarian and the owner made sure to respect my wish on what to try). If you pass by, you should definitely get lunch there.

Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks
We did the ‘regular’ zip lines and had a lot of fun! There were 8 runs and the views were spectacular. We also watched several people do the ‘Monster’ run and it looked wild! Also the drive up the mountain was scenic and fun!
Joel G — Google review
Best/only way to experience Toro Verde Park from San Juan with transportation. Park is a couple hours outside of San Juan and if you don't rent a car, there's no way there. Tour went well - the bus driver/guide was pleasant enough and got us to the park safely. The park itself isn't really a tour, it's more like you've paid for transportation to the park and for the tickets for the ziplines which worked perfectly for us. The bus doesn't play around with people not being at their designated spot on time - be there or you'll be left. Toro Verde is amazing and the ziplines are beautiful. Lots of places to sit and relax if you're not into Ziplining.
Brandy M — Google review
Do not recommend. Worst experience ever. This place is not well managed, we made a reservation for 12:00 PM, however no one show up until 1:00PM. After tour guide showed up, we were told that we need to wait at least one more hour, and there is no guarantee. Also they do not have enough equipment to be able to take the ride, the reservation means nothing. After we got to the departure station, people there said all of them are waiting for more than an hour. So including driving, we wasted at least 5 hours.

Waterfalls
Cascada Chorro de Doña Juana is a serene natural attraction located in Orocovis, Puerto Rico's Central Mountain Range. Comprising three waterfalls with a combined height of 100 feet, it offers a tranquil and easily accessible destination without the need for hiking. Situated by Road 149 at the 41.
It was quite easy to get there, it is located right by the road, the road itself is very winding and narrow, you need to be careful and careful, there is not much space for parking, but there were no people, there is a small store next to it where you can have a snack! Unfortunately it is quite difficult to swim here as it can be dangerous to approach the water.

Beautiful, Peaceful, Absolute Must see.

This is a natural beauty. This area is a stop and go place, there’s no parking. Remember that this is on the state road 149. It is a different place than the Doña Juana recreation area which is on the State Road 143.

We drive here and went swimming. We were told by locals that “not even locals do that” which made us feel pretty cool! A GREAT swimming hole just be careful climbing down
Pier Z — Google review
My husband grew up in the area, and he and his friends would jump from the rocks. Great memories there!!!!!
Nilsa — Google review
My partner and I visited this location today along with our family. Not that busy, and easy to reach while using our GPS. Its a well kept area and a great place to visit with the family and friends. You must be cautious when there with children, an injury can easily be acquired.
Ciales P — Google review
V nice view if you are passing by in that road to some other location, but not worth doing a 1+ hour detour. Note that there is no parking, gas or food available near this spot and roads are too narrow if you have driven mostly in US. I was stuck for 45 mins behind a bunch of cars who were driving 10-15mph and then couldn’t spend even 10 mins here. That was disappointing. The local govt could have done so much better with this place.
Yogesh B — Google review
The drive getting there can be quite overwhelming being curvy and the lanes being very thin but the waterfall view was beautiful!! There isn't much parking available but there small parking before the waterfall on the side of the road and some also in front of the restaurant... Oh! And the restaurant.... To all the vegetarians like me the pizza empanada is delicious!😋 One of the best pizza empanadas I had on the island.

Mountain peak
Cerro Mime is a hidden gem offering stunning views despite being off the beaten path. The 1.1-mile trail is challenging with its uphill and rocky terrain, but the panoramic vistas make it worthwhile. Limited parking is available in a residential cul-de-sac, so arriving early is advisable. Visitors are encouraged to bring water, sunglasses, bug spray, and sturdy shoes for the muddy and dusty paths.
A great experience, it's only 2 mile hike to the top! Some parts are somewhat steep but an easy hike! If you are afraid of heights you may have to think about the trek! But loved it and it's very close to some "charcas"rivers where you can wine down!
Juan C — Google review
A long drive from the metro for a short hike, but worth it! Great views, good exercise, and lovely to be out in nature. It's about a 30-minute hike straight up. Follow the barbed wire fence on your left. You'll pass through a gate. The trail is pretty well marked. We didn't see the guy charging $5 to park in his yard, but there was no one else around so parking was easy where the road ended.
Jess G — Google review
For me was a challenge because I’m afraid of heights. Is not a long walk but it’s required to be aware thar the surface is slippery I recommend hiking shoes. Strong winds when you arrive the second peak. Beautiful views.
Jaxira G — Google review
Parking is located on a small residential cul-de-sac at or near (18.2410947, -66.4325787) or 6HR8+CX Orocovis. Consider getting here early to take advantage of the of limited parking and avoid the daily rainshowers. Bring sunglasses, portable hand sanitizer, bug spray and great shoes with good grip. Bring water and make sure not to litter. Wear comfortable loose fitting clothing that you don't mind getting muddy/dusty. And bring your best camera. The hike is very steep and very very very slippery. The cliff are steep and one mistake will be your last. Do not recommend children under 12. Do not recommend anyone without good balance. Hike for an average like me = 45 minutes. Hike for in-shape/experienced hiker = 30 or less. The views are stunning and 100% worth it. 100% recommend.
Perris T — Google review
This place was breathtaking! I highly recommend doing this hike. It's a little bit scary for people who are afraid of heights but 100% worth it.
Brittany P — Google review
Wow, what a view. It is a short hike but don't take it lightly it is a steep incline. I recommend good hiking shoes on this trail also its kind of confusing when you get here because you don't know where to park so once you get to the entrance just go straight in till the pave road ends and it'll open up and you can park there. It is a VERY narrow road so beware of this.

National forest
Park
Bosque Estatal Toro Negro is a dense forest in the south-central part of Puerto Rico, spanning across several municipalities. It offers a variety of activities for nature enthusiasts, including hiking trails that lead to peaks, waterfalls, and natural pools. The forest is home to diverse wildlife such as hawks and boas, making it an ideal destination for birdwatchers. One of its most sought-after endemic subspecies is the Puerto Rican sharp-shinned hawk.
Beautiful park, with several trails and waterfalls. We walked Camino El Bolo which took approximately 30 minutes to get to the Observation Tower trail. From there we hiked for another 30-40 minutes up the trail to get to the Observation Tower. The trail was a little bit slippery as it rained earlier that day. We could not enjoy the view as it was very foggy that day. It was a great hike, sorrounded by a thick forest and with the guidance of Canela ( a stray dog) that accompanied us along the trail.

Water is a little cold. Deep in the middle and Strong current towards the waterfall

Very nice short paved hike to the man made pool at the base of a short waterfall. Pool is decrepit, cannot swim in it or go past the gates. Pathway is a peaceful nice walk along a stream, flowers and interesting plants, trees and birds. There are some other trails within the park but unmaintained after the hurricanes.

Off roading was a lot of fun, outstanding and breathtaking views, amazing trails. Lots of fun. Bring the family and friend for this lovely and outstanding adventure, this place is all about 4 wheeling. Superb. Will not regret it. Check the pictures out, they speak for themselves.
Elmo R — Google review
The views here are amazing this pictures are from the route 6 pool. The pool is not in operation and it doesn't look like it will be put into operation any time soon. The walk from the parking to the pool is 5 minutes.
Alan M — Google review
A really beautiful rainforest with waterfalls, a hiking trail with scenical view of many cities of Puerto Rico and two lakes. A great place, family friendly, for camping they have very good facilities with parking, bathroom and a fire place. They community is now on charge and they have done really good improvements. The prices for camping went up, but it's really worthy.
Silvette M — Google review
This is a beautiful place, but the upkeep is shameful. There used to be a large, spring fed swimming pool that now looks like it was hit with a bomb. The trails are almost completely closed because of lack of maintenance. The drive through the mountains is magnificent and there are many incredible places to eat. Is it worth the drive? No, not really...it is about 2 hours from San Juan, but you can complete every open trail in about an hour. Once a magnificent place to visit, but now just a remnant of what used to be...😔
