I think the info can be improved. Like where actually the platypus is and the koala. And the best way to see them. Understand this is not a zoo. But that's why we need guidance to enjoy the nature at its fullest. Each track can also be advertised better for its experience, using the brochure of course as it's the only information source we can depend on. Nevertheless. The place was serene and beautiful

Great stop in at Tidbinbilla, was passing by after the Deep Space Communications centre. Haven’t been in a few years and safe to say I regret leaving it so long, I forget how awesome this place is. Koalas eat at 1pm so they were awake. Turtles everywhere but make sure not to be too loud they get spooked and go in the water. Lots of birds, we never see any platypus though Would be great if they could get the visitor centre back as a main feature, it’s still all closed off with just an office in demountables. Really lacking that initial lay of the land info. Staff were lovely though

A must-visit! It’s really beautiful, with many trails for various walks. I recommend taking the one that leads to the top of the mountain for a breathtaking view! You also have the chance to see many animals, including lots of kangaroos (especially in the morning). It’s truly exciting to see koalas as well.

This is a wonderful place. The short drive from Canberra is well worth it. We saw Bandicoots, Wallabies,Kangaroos, Koalas, a wombat, and bunch of magnificent birds. The best animal we saw was a Platypus- all of these were spotted in their natural environment. Best time to visit is just before sunset.

Well looked after national park with something for everyone. A huge range of walks for all levels plus lots of picnic areas. We saw 3 platypuses, a southern-brush rock tail wallaby and many birds. Very quiet only a few other groups around

Simply beautiful and peaceful! Update July 2025 Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve has only got been over the year's with great maintenance been done around the Reserve with more BBQ facilities available for starters With some scientific study, they have found to have twenty seven platypus playfully swimming between the ponds along with superb viewing of koalas Lots of Kangaroos can be seen with the odd spotting of some Emu's There is a great play ground for the children to play while cooking lunch at the BBQ area Toilet facilities are available also

Lovely spot to walk around and appreciate our wonderful bushland. Walkways made it easy to get around most locations. Plenty of wallabies, kangaroos, and the odd koala, even for to see a couple of normally elusive platypus.

It was a wonderful experience to visit the building where important decisions are taken and the country is run. The exhibits in the corridors and narratives besides them give an insight into the history. We visited on a weekday and there were quite many school groups. Entry is free. A visit is highly recommended!

Visited Parliamen house with Kids and it was worth it. Plenty of parking, easy access to entry (Free entry), Parliament session was ongoing on our visit so attended session for sometime in guest lobby. They have history of Prime Minister, native animal history , beautiful cafe inside

Dropped by Parliament House for a quick visit during our trip to Canberra. Really impressed by how grand it is and the beautiful surroundings. The building’s design is pretty cool, and I love that it’s open for tourists to explore. Nice to see democracy up close like that!

Parliament House was a great experience. I highly recommend a tour as you have time as you get a peak of areas closed to general access and the tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. An absolute must at least once in life of you get to Camberra

I came here many years ago when I was at school and remembered loving it. Came again recently as an adult with some friends and it was a nice nostalgic visit. Average entry price, we came about 2.5 hrs before closing time during the week and that was a good time as most of the school kids had left and we had a lot of space to ourselves to enjoy the place. While a lot of the activities are designed for kids you can still enjoy and learn as an adult. Loved the earthquake room and the lightning simulation as well as the big slide. Gift shop not too bad, I thought there would be more cool science related stuff. Also love that there's some nice places to eat within walking distance, and plenty of parking at the venue.

There's something for all age groups in this science centre. The exhibits are well curated and are informative. We visited on a weekday day and there were quite many school groups. We ended up spending quite some time in the centre, as we found the experimental learning enjoyable. A visit is highly recommended!

An amazing STEM space for everyone to learn from. Every exhibit is highly interactive for all ages and cover a huge range of scientific disciplines. We need something like this in Queensland too.

Iconic science museum - I remember coming here as a kid and enjoying the earthquake machine and lighting show. They’ve still got all that and lots more now. Parking can be a bit pricey, there’s a cafe and daily shows demonstrating how fire works and the like. Great for kids under 10!

So much to see and do for all ages. You can buy food from the cafe and sit inside or outside to eat. The initial ramp you walk up to start going in different sections is quite step. We had a fantastic afternoon there

Really fun experience for the whole family. If you've been to science works this is far more enjoyable for a family with kids. Very interactive for everyone, lots of things the kids can do on their own without parent intervention. Staff around on a few levels to assist or do demonstrations. Normally our kids steer clear of staff who want to interact... but all these staff had a way that worked and I've never seen the kids all so engaged. I could have gone and got lunch and they wouldn't have known I left. It was great to see! Hours of fun and exploration. Lids learned lots of new things and had fun with all the interactive stations throughout. We rushed in the end as had to get out of there, I think 3 hours is probably a good amount of time to set aside if you're heading in with multiple kids.

Always a wonderful experience. Staff are all very kind and interested. They do also seem to appreciate adult guests, so don’t be discouraged to visit.

The National Gallery of Australia is such a beautiful space to spend a few hours. The collection inside is diverse and fascinating, with something for everyone, from Australian works through to international pieces. The grounds outside are equally lovely - peaceful, well maintained, and perfect for a wander before or after exploring the galleries. Well worth a visit, whether you’re into art or just want to soak up a bit of culture in a gorgeous setting. Also, highly recommend taking a hire scooter from the city, along the river and over the bridge to get here. It’s a really fun and scenic way to arrive, and adds to the whole experience.

An amazing place to enjoy the art and make mind very peaceful. It’s a large gallery with cafe and souvenir shop inside. There are numbers to follow. A great visit. Surprisingly, it’s complimentary to entry. There is a garage parking underneath.

The collection is varied, thought-provoking, and definitely worth a visit for anyone looking for a unique perspective on art from around the world.

Must see in Canberra. Very unique pieces that tell their own stories across many floors. Stunning pieces of work. Toilets readily accessible, and there is also a cafe. Entry is free with some exhibits requiring a fee, but all is mentioned on their website. Overall wonderful experience.

Very good art gallery. Here I saw Monet's water lilies and many Aboriginal artworks. There are also beautiful sculptures outside the art gallery. It takes 2 hours to watch at the National Art Gallery.

The Ned Kelly series is excellent and the women photographer's exhibition very good. Lots of variety in art forms and interesting juxtaposition too. The aboriginal memorial room was a terrifically moving experience

A large and evocative building with national treasures on display. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The gift shop is reasonable. The café had nice lunch offers and good coffee. There is Wi-Fi access and mobile network reception. The Internatiomal section is worth a look. The aboriginal sections are a worthy effort, particularly the spears arrangement. Exhibitions are worth considering. I enjoyed the Cézanne to Giacometti exhibit. Paid parking is underneath, in the adjacent portrait gallery, or across the road.

I cannot give a higher ranking than a 5/5. Our war memorial is simply a must see. So must history and gallantry we need to know. Beautifully exhibited. Staff are amazing. We took the free tour through the WW11 section with an amazing tour guide called Bill Arthur. He was a wealth of knowledge and simply loved the exhibits and it showed. We had such an incredible time and plan to go back soon as you simply cannot see and read everything in one visit. Simply amazing. Proud to be an Aussie.

The Australian War Memorial is an incredibly moving and beautifully curated place. It’s not just a museum, it’s a powerful tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of so many Australians. The exhibits are detailed, respectful and deeply engaging and the Last Post ceremony is an absolute must-see. A quick tip - the galleries close promptly at 4 p.m. to prepare for the ceremony, so it’s best to arrive at least an hour and a half earlier to explore everything properly. The staff are warm and knowledgeable and the grounds are beautifully maintained. A truly meaningful experience that stays with you long after you leave.

The surrounding grounds are immaculate, adding to the peace and reverence of the entire site. I now understand why the Australian War Memorial is so highly rated by visitors.Overall, the Australian War Memorial is a powerful combination of history, artistry, and respect, making it a must-visit for anyone wanting to connect with Australia's military heritage. It offers a deeply emotional, educational, and memorable experience that truly honors those who served.

This is a must do when visiting Canberra including jumping on to a free guided tour of the memorial. We had a lovely gentleman named Bob Davidson who was our terrific guide. Bob spoke clearly, empathetically and passionately and with that passion he kept us all engaged. Not one person from our group dropped off from the tour. I would recommend at least a full day visit here, maybe even a day and a half.

A wealth of history. Give yourself time, it is so worthy of the visit, and Poppy's Cafe is open for a meal or snack. I can't say enough about the staff at the War Memorial they are exceptional, thank you to all. 🙌🏻🙌🏻 Each day around 4.30 pm the Last Post is played and one of our brave soldiers story is told. We were at two of these services recently, for two of our uncles who lost their lives at war.🕊 Lest We Forget.

Just a fascinating place...so much history on display. Excellent staff who all seem to go the extra mile to help with any inquiry you might have. Spent the entire day there and didn't get to see everything. Stayed for the Last Post Ceremony which was a wonderful way to finish off the day.

A must see. The war memorial is a solemn and respectful place to remember those who have made Australia today. Everyone should make the effort for at least one visit to realise what war is really about. If it does not touch your heart, then you are not human. You need a day to really take your time and be thankful for what these men, women and even animals have done for this country. LEST WE FORGET. 🕊

Some amazing pieces of woodwork! Amazing to look at the detail and amount of work that goes into these pieces, from tables and jewellery boxes, as well as the sculptures and even chess pieces. Obviously quite expensive however rightfully so given the amazing craftsmanship that goes into these.

The display of furniture and other items at the gallery are mind blowing. The craftsmanship is amazing and a everlasting tribute to their skills. People may think that these items are over priced but they need to step back and take a good look at the skills involved to achieve such beautiful work. This gallery is a must view. 👌

A great place to look at amazing works of timber. Though if you find yourself accidentally damaging something, it might cost a kidney. But other then a that, they display fine quality timber products and furnitures with amazing finishes and an assortment of kitchen appliances, decorative items, furniture, accessories, and toys. All top quality. The owners are also very wonderful and were very nice.

Drove 35 minutes from Canberra to look at the gallery and didn't disappoint with its amazing collection of woodwork. Then, as a bonus, I found the café through the gallery, and although expensive, the food and coffee were delicious! It's worth the drive! I will be back soon! 😊

I rarely give 5 stars but this place deserves them. Utterly amazing woodworking! From exquisite small boxes to large cabinets draw the eye for a closer look. Kinda out of the way in Bungendore 20km North on Canberra off the Federal Highway... but a must visit if you are anywhere in the area.

Quality work from local artists and craftsmen. Prices are pretty dear but the pieces on offer are loud statements.

We dropped by this place and were impressed by the wood products here. They have a huge range, from furniture, decorative items and sculptures to household items. We enjoyed our visit.

Very friendly welcome by staff, the wine tasting was excellent and Chris? (Lovely lady), was extremely knowledgeable and explained each wine. The rooms were clean, tidy and lovely to stay in. The restaurant dinner was superb, one of the best steaks I have had. Special mention to Emma who was our lovely server for the evening. I highly recommend staying and we will definitely be back. A great place for a special occasion.

What a beautiful slice of paradise. We stayed 2 nights in a villa. So well done. Modern, clean, great views over the countryside, everything you could ask for. All staff were friendly and made you feel very welcome. The restaurant was also great. Open for lunch with a good variety of food to choose from. Wine is superb.

Cupitt’s Estate is such a lovely place to visit; the service is friendly, the food is delicious, and the prices are quite casual and reasonable, especially for the outdoor restaurant area. The view over the vineyard and countryside is absolutely phenomenal; perfect for photos and a relaxing afternoon. They also offer wine tastings and have a great selection available for purchase, which makes the experience even better. The grape gardens are beautiful and make for a nice walk or photo spot before or after your meal. While the outdoor menu is a bit limited compared to the more formal indoor dining, everything we tried was fresh and well-prepared. Overall, it’s a must-visit if you’re in the area; a great balance of good food, great wine, and amazing scenery!

We celebrated our 38th Wedding Anniversary for lunch. It was perfect. Our lovely English waitress wished us a Happy Anniversary & suggested oysters, wine etc to start. We decided on some shared plates including the divine home made bread to soak up all the sauces. Our wine & coffees were great! The view & atmosphere were also just lovely. 10/10!!!!

We had a great 2 night stay at one of the villas and were able to take advantage of their spring getaway package which included a complimentary 2 course lunch. The accommodation was clean, relaxing, and comfortable. We really enjoyed our lunch at the restaurant, with the highlights being the Yamba prawns and Hawkesbury Sommerland chicken. Highly recommend staying or dining here if you're in the area to celebrate a special occasion.

Unfortunately, they no longer do the set menu for 2 people, although not mentioned online; and we were further disappointed when the table next to us was offered a set menu with wine parings (on a voucher - we understand, just upsetting). We had a few drinks and snacks on the balcony before which was lovely, the beer and aperol were delish, but the wine flight was BWS appropriate at best. A “Vinyard” that promotes creativity and sustainability but uses bought, mass produced grapes? A shame. Service was wonderful though, thank you team.

Spectacular views and structure. Travelled just to do the sea cliff bridge, wasn't disappointed. The look out at bald Hill was a great spot to look over where you had been. Very busy even in the weather.Nice walk across the bridge with great views of the sea and surroundings.Very cool road to drive and walk over. You can also park at the north end where there are restrooms and people paragliding. Amazing drive followed by albreath taking views

I took my 3 kids for the beginners kayak tour at Bundeena.We were lucky enough to have Marnie all to our self and she was the most lovely, kind and warm tour guide. We did the 90-minute beginners tour with our six-year-old and loved it! Bruce, our guide, was great – super knowledgeable about the area and shared lots of interesting little facts along the way. The route itself was perfect for beginners – calm, easy to follow, and with gorgeous scenery the whole way. It was such a fun and relaxed way to spend the morning, and even our little one managed it with no trouble. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something family-friendly and a bit different to do in Bundeena.

My wife and I are getting Stand Up Paddle board lessons in preparation for an impending holiday with our kids. Great local knowledge and great instructions. We both managed to stand up after our first lesson. We’re going back to hire the boards, for a bit of extra practice. Highly recommended a lesson with Bundeena kayaks.

Fantastic day out with Bruce with our family today. Finally used our gift that was given to us 3 yrs ago. Bruce is very knowledgeable, patient and kind. Marnie was very warm and welcoming. Parking is $12 for the entire day which so reasonable. We will be back again for sure.

My husband and I booked a beginners guided tour with them and had an amazing experience we'll never forget. It was our first time ever trying kayaking and neither of us can swim that well. We had been thinking of taking it up for the longest of time but had been too afraid. Through their training and guidance, they made it feel so easy and so enjoyable that we have now become confident enough to go kayaking by ourselves. Thank you so much for helping us get over our fears and to actually enjoy the experience. Even on a cloudy day, Darling Harbour has a special charm. The grey skies seemed to soften the light over the water, giving the whole area a calm, peaceful feel. The reflections on the harbour looked almost silver, and the gentle breeze made it a perfect day for a slow walk along the waterfront. Cafés were cozy and welcoming, ideal for grabbing a warm coffee and sitting by the window to enjoy the view. The atmosphere was relaxed, with locals and tourists alike taking in the scenery and street performances. The mix of boats, water, and city skyline gives the place such a unique energy, even without the sunshine. Whether you’re after a quiet coffee, a nice meal by the water, or just a scenic stroll, Darling Harbour is beautiful in any weather. The cloudy sky only added a touch of serenity to the experience.

It is nice walking area along the harbour with a lot of place for families and kids. It also features a lot of weekend or night time activities like firework. Highly recommend to visit if you love night walk and activities.

The Manly ferry leaves from Wharf 3. Entry and exit to the wharf to board is pretty organised, queues form to swipe through Opal gates a few minutes prior to arrival. There is also some seating available for elderly or people with mobility issues.

We were very happy with the speed, efficiency, and affordability of this public transport to the Taronga Zoo. We had no issues with the departure time either going or coming. The boats were clean and it was a lovely ride.

The public ferries provide excellent views of Sydney Harbor Bridge and the Opera House at a low price.

It is a must experience, with stunning views and nature all around you, 1000/10 would definitely recommend. We took almost 2h because we stopped loads and were walking slowly, but people usually do it in 45min to an hour.

Had already planned in advance to do this walk from other recommendations before arriving in Sydney but a couple of locals mentioned it too and it featured on a couple of maps that we picked up. We took the T4 train to Bondi Junction and then walked the 30 mins or so to Bondi before setting off south to Coogee. Plenty of beaches and views to admire plus flowers and wildlife. A fair few steps in places but nothing that most people wouldn’t be able to handle. In all it took is just over 90 mins. Well worth it to get away from the bustle of the city.

Really nice walk, great for all levels of fitness...drive to where you want to start your walk or get public transport to your closest point you wish to start and off you go... Take a picnic with you and stop anywhere along the way and enjoy a romantic picnic in the sun or under the shade of many trees and parks along the way or stop into one of the many cafe's and rest and take in the magnificent scenery, views and breathe in the fresh clean and cool Ocean air..🌴⛱️🌊🌬🌴 Remember to respect the privacy of all the beautiful houses you see along the way, and also to respect the land, nature and wildlife and always take your rubbish with you and use the ma y bins you'll find along the way 😊 Remember, walking on the path is like driving on the road, "keep to the leftt"... The Coogee–Bondi coastal walk is one of those experiences that never gets old, no matter how many times i have done it. The path winds along dramatic cliffs, hidden coves, and sparkling blue water that seems to change shades with every step. It is a must experience to walk through the bridge! Stunning views, and about 20/30min walking :) You can also pay to go up the little museum and have an even better view, but we didn’t do it and had the greatest time, still.

The structure is amazing… just like the pictures you see in Internet. Easy to move around. Handicap friendly. Many spots for snacks and even for lunch or dinner. Inside is big enough to run several events at the same time. We saw The Shiralee… excellent play presentation. Buster really run the show. The terrace around the Opera offers great spots for pictures and opportunities to crash on weddings… many diverse weddings. If you have time, you can visit the Botanical Garden nearby. You can’t miss it, if you are in Sydney!

Of course, the iconic tourist attraction! We usually only take pictures from the outside whenever visiting the Sydney Opera House (SOH). But Alhamdulillah this year we had the chance to watch the Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) performance. The architecture is really unique. The view from inside SOP to the Harbour Bridge and the surrounding areas is breathtaking! Each performance lasted around 1.5 hours. The multimedia facility as additional modern setting adds to the amazing theatrical experience. I did not expect to watch the ACO with documentary screening as background. There are bar and café on the main concern hall that serves drinks and light snacks. You can enter from the main entrance located under the primary stairs structure, or you can enter via a door with security check-in table to right after the tourist ticketing area. There are many concerts and arts performances for all ages, not just classical opera or orchestra as I used to think. Well, a famous landmark does not need recommendation. It speaks for itself.

Sydney Opera House really leans into that whole “world-famous icon” thing, but once you stand in front of it you cannot unsee the truth. It looks exactly like a giant rack to dry dishes. A premium, waterfront, government-funded dish rack. Someone clearly put the budget on the wrong Pinterest board. It still looks good, no denying that. The patterns on the tiles are gorgeous, the shape is wild, the whole structure owns the harbor like it pays rent for the sun. But the moment the dish-rack comparison hits your brain, it is over. Those shiny white shells become plates waiting to drip dry. And the big question: was it worth the time and money? Honestly, maybe. It is one of those bucket list things you check off because it is famous, not because it changes your life. You go there, you stare at it, you laugh at how much it looks like kitchen equipment, you take the photos, and you move on. Iconic, yes. Beautiful, sure. Worth the hype? Debatable. But unforgettable as the world’s fanciest dish rack.

Stopped by for a quick look around. Sydney is a beautiful city and this part of town is both historic and swanky. Lots of people about enjoying their evening and overall a very good atmosphere. The whole area surrounding the opera house is lovely to explore.

If you are a lover of Broadway, opera or just to see an iconic building, than this is a must see. Take a guided walking tour starting from the basement on up through the inner workings of the back end. Very interesting and informative. Wear comfortable shoes, it’s a lot of walking. If you are going for a great breakfast, don’t count on it. It’s just meh. Breakfast is at the end of the tour in what they call back in the states their commissary but they call it their green room.

Architecture that captivates your heart! I didn't get a chance to go inside, but honestly, the outside view is stunning enough on its own, it has its power to grab everyone's attention. Top Tip: If you want the best possible view, take a ferry from Circular Quay after sunset. Seeing the Opera House from the water at night is an unmissable experience.

To call the Sydney Opera House an extraordinary global landmark is not an overstatement. Port Jackson is the beautiful place, we know as Sydney Harbour and one of the most spectacular harbours in the world not only on the water but the many walks around the coastline.With its busy water traffic and iconic structures such as the bridge and the Opera House it must be seen from the water

What can I say. Sydney Harbour (Port Jackson) for me personally has and always will be the most picturesque and beautiful harbour in the world. Although I don't live in this city any longer. I am always in awe of this extremely appealing and iconic harbour. It can look so different depending upon the time of day. Or when it is seen at sunrise, sunset, rain or cloud. It never fails to show different characteristics when seen under natural and artificial lighting as well as a variety of different weather conditions. The Iconic Opera House and Sydney Harbour bridge as always are a must see if you are only visiting briefly.

One of the best bays I have ever seen. Excellent balance between natural beauty and real estate. Very proud of my own country.

Fringed by Sydney Harbour National Park, this is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Catch a ferry to Taronga Zoo Wharf, & walk the trail to Bradleys Head. Watch the ferries commuting across the harbour, enjoy a picnic, & take in the breathtaking scenery. There are great harbour views from the entire walking trail to Middle Head. One of the prettiest, most scenic walks I've been on & highly recommended whilst in Sydney. Also a popular area for fishing & boating.

Ive done a few trail rides here over the years and all have been fantastic. Our guide this morning was Amanda along with Poppy on the Palomino. They were lovely, chatty and made us all feel safe and comfortable. Would highly recommend Glenworth Valley for not only horse riding but for a lovely day out or a weekend camping with family or friends. They have so much to offer. First thing that I recommend is stopping at the lookout, just after the sign to take in the view. My mate and I did the kayak session and had a brilliant time. It was well organised, safe and fun. Our guide was friendly, vigilant, helpful and made the experience interesting and memorable. Really enjoyed ourselves, if you can come down to the valley and get stuck into an adventure. All the organising is taken care i.e. equipment and the guides make you feel comfortable ad confident to particpate in the activities. They also have Scottish Highand cows and emus which is pretty cool. And the coffee is pretty good. This place definatley warrents further exploration.

We had an amazing glamping experience at Glenworth Valley Adventures! The tent and camping setup were beautifully done and made our stay comfortable and relaxing amidst nature. A special shout-out to Kai, who was incredibly patient and encouraging while guiding my son through his first abseiling experience. He absolutely loved it and said he'll be back to conquer Level 3 next time! Andre made our quad biking adventure exciting and safe, and Emily (Milee) was wonderful during our horse-riding session, making us feel confident and at ease with our horses (Mayo, Bowen and Big Mac). Highly recommend Glenworth Valley for a fun and memorable family getaway!

I went quad biking for my birthday. Even though I had never done it before, it was amazing, and I really enjoyed it, thanks to amazing teachers Andre and Yileen. The ride was very fun and challenging, but the best part was the track. There, you can really challenge yourself and push yourself to your limit. Bonus points for the safety measures. They are really trying hard to bring everyone home safe. Thank you!

My son and I had such an amazing time at the Glenworth Valley Wilderness Adventures. Every staff member we encountered onsite were friendly, helpful and pleasant. Easy check in process, good parking, lots of toilets at different locations and lockers to store things like phone and keys, so very handy. Property was easy to find and very clean. We ventured the kayaking and quad bikes. We had April as our tour guide on both adventures as well as other lovely staff who were great. April is such a people person. Very warm and friendly. She guided us with respect and patience. Clear and concise instructions and directions so we were less likely to capsize from kayak or tip off the quad bike. This meant we were able to have more fun and explore our own abilities safely. It was our first time. April is attentive. She obviously identified that my 13yr old was nervous and lacked confidence when he was tested for the quad bike because she ensured that our team went at a really slow pace when heading to the track and was always observing and guiding him. This gave my son reassurance and confidence by the time we got to the track that by the end he was riding the bike faster and with confidence. It makes a really difference to someone who is there first time and has never attempted that activity before as this just makes the entire experience special, memorable and enticing to return for more fun and adventures!

The whole staff were friendly and welcoming. Especially Yileen and April. The whole quad biking experience was scenic, thrilling and just good fun. This was a gift for my cousin's 50th and he turned into a happy little boy beaming from ear to ear! Our guides, Yileen and April were very professional, while being easy going and funny. Definitely coming back with a bigger group, plus our daughter would love it. Thanks for a great day!

We had such an amazing time kayaking with April and Emily as our guides! They were both so friendly, kind, and full of positive energy from start to finish. Our group of seven had an incredible experience exploring the water — everything felt safe, relaxed, and fun. Two of our friends struggled a bit getting back, and both April and Emily were so patient and helpful, making sure everyone was comfortable and supported. We had a fantastic day at the Australian Reptile Park! The park has an impressive collection of reptiles and Australian native animals — from snakes and crocodiles to koalas and Tasmanian devils. The kids especially loved feeding the friendly wallabies and kangaroos, and the highlight of the day was meeting Bluey and Bingo! The park also has lovely picnic areas and a great playground, making it a perfect spot for families to relax and enjoy the day. Highly recommended for a fun and educational outing!

We mainly visited the park for the Bluey show but everything else was great too. The place is nice, not too crowded and kids friendly. It's not huge like other zoos which makes the walking easier with young kids. It has a playground with shaded seats for parents. The shows were quite fun and entertaining and staffs were friendly and knowledgeable.

This was honestly really well done. It was obvious the staff cared about the animals the various medical works they support as well as having a nice well kept park. It was a bit expensive, but I can see how the money was being used unlike so many other places. This is definitely a recommend, especially on weekends

I had an amazing time visiting the Australian Reptile Park! The park is beautifully maintained, and you can tell the animals are really well cared for. There’s such a great variety — from reptiles and kangaroos to koalas and crocodiles — and everything is easy to see and enjoy. The staff truly make the experience special. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the animals. They took the time to answer questions, share fun facts, and make visitors feel welcome. You can really see how much they love what they do. The shows and talks were entertaining and educational, and it’s great to know that the park plays a big role in wildlife conservation and education in Australia. Highly recommend a visit for families, tourists, or anyone who loves animals. A big thank you to the whole team at the Australian Reptile Park for making it such an enjoyable and memorable day!

Had a great day with my family. Little one age 3 was very excited, loved the playground there as well. Lots of little spots to have a picnic lunch or buy from the kiosk.

Cool place! The reptile talk was very good, the guy who did it was entertaining and clearly very knowledgeable. The spider section was a bit disappointing - more fake spiders than real ones! The gators and snakes were highlights, though.

Beautifully presented array of reptiles, Marsupials and arachnids. Very informative with talks throughout the parkland setting. Kangaroos grazing throughout the area, lovely picnic areas, fabulous for families and nature lovers.

The view at Audrey Wilkinson is absolutely stunning, with one of the best vineyard outlooks in the Hunter Valley. It’s the perfect spot to sit back, relax, and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The wines are of good quality, especially the Semillon and Shiraz, which showcase the character of the region very well. However, the service was just average. While everything went smoothly, it lacked the warmth and attentiveness that would have made the experience truly exceptional. Overall, it’s still a great place to visit for the atmosphere and wine, but the service could be improved to match the high quality of the setting.

We had a wonderful wine tasting experience here. The staff were very friendly and welcoming—despite us arriving without a reservation, they kindly offered to seat us. The semillon was especially good, and the staff were extremely generous, offering us more than the standard tasting. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up purchasing a bottle to take home. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area!

Absolutely beautiful place! Went with my husband on a group tour of Hunter valley in May 2025. Such a stunning location and loved trying different flavoured wines. I am not a big wine drinker but have a big appreciation for this winery. Lovely spot to visit with your partner, friends and family 😊.

Largest winery in Australia.. One of the best in the world with a variety of original locally grown finest wines .. From vineyards to production units to processing and bottling wines. Everything will demonstrated and of course with free wine testing facilities in a cosy friendly environment.. One can then buy as many.. There are multiple wine companies with good portfolio across the vast land of Hunter Valley gardens.. Comprising of multiple best quality gardens or more appropriately vineyards and wine tasting restaurants..n facilities.. People making and offering wine are highly experienced, friendly and always trying to explain and help choose the best quality and the type one is looking for.. Many souvenirs are also available.. It is a day long wonderful experience taking a few hours only

Located at 2090 Broke Road, Pokolbin, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 I came to these gardens with my group of approximately 35 people, including people with walkers, to see the Hunter Valley Gardens Christmas Lights Spectacular. It was well worth the visit. I absolutely loved it. For the most part, it is accessible for people with mobility issues but there are steps situated around the displays meaning backtracking was required in some instances. Not many though. There’s a couple of toilet 🚻 facilities located at the entrance and about half way through. There’s food vans near the Ferris wheel but they were closed when we went (about 8.30pm) . The amount of work and preparation that had to go into the displays is astounding. So many figurines lighted up. I really enjoyed my visit and took so many photos so remember to bring your camera and make sure to charge your battery in phone because there’s plenty of photo opportunities. Night Entrance (best for this Spectacular to get the full effects fees are - Adults (16+ years) $40.00 Children 4-15 years) - $30.00 Families (2 Adults, 2 Children) - $122.00 There’s always plenty to see during the day also. I would definitely recommend coming here, at least once. A BIG Thumbs up! 👍👍👍

Beautiful well kept gardens of many themes. Well worth the admission price. Extremely picturesque. Great for photo shoots. Great for exploring and enjoying the views and beauty of curated nature.

The gardens were an absolute blast, with so much to explore. Walking through the various themed areas, I felt like I was in a fairytale. The lights display at night was a mesmerizing experience. I definitely took a lot of photos to remember this fantastic trip.

Good venue , about a 5 to 10min walk to where the car was parked because there was heaps of people there. I reckon about 40,000. The concert was really good. The best Act was Vica and Linda Bulla with the guy from hunters and collectors , they also had the church band , and another brother and sister Act , and the last Act was crowded house. Venue was good. We went to the mosh pit at the first band on which was great. We're really close to the stage and it wasn't too crowded but as the afternoon went on it got more and more crowded in the mosh bit and there was a bit more push and shove. Still a great day out and I would recommend it. Certainly if you want to watch some bands and have a good time. Five stars.

Attended my beautiful friends wedding here! What a gorgeous location for such an event! The gardens are truly breathtaking. So many colours, smells and vibes!

HVG is such a great spot to spend time - great cafe, beautiful setting and fun shops. The Christmas Lights spectacular is on again and its beautiful for 2025! Lights were gorgeous even at 6pm when we got there for younger kids (all the growth in the garden makes patches dark enough to see them). Well worth a day out.

The lamb rack was to die for—perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavour. Every dish we tried was beautifully presented and exceeded expectations. The whole dining experience was such a pleasure and the deconstructed lemon meringue was nothing short of sensational – the perfect finish to an amazing meal. Our grandchildren were also so well catered for and entertained with the activity book waiting for them at the table on arrival, which made the experience even more special. Petersons House is a true gem, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. We will definitely be returning!

Our experience at Restaurant Cuvée was delightful! Warm welcoming hosts and wonderful setting under the trees looking across the vines. We were treated to a yummy lunch of zucchini flowers, fresh sourdough, lamb rack and rocket salad. Indulgent and great food! Complimented with great bubbles and followed up with a shared dessert of pavlova and exquisite Davidson plum ice cream! Kim was our waiter and she was so lovely. The perfect combination of friendly conversation and professional service. Kim enhanced our experience and was so nice to both of us and our dog, Betty. Highly recommend a long lunch here !!!

Had a large group for a birthday lunch, the venue were very attentive and accommodating with any requests. Had the group set menu choices, the food was very good and the service excellent, I had the beef which was delicious and perfectly cooked and I really enjoyed the sauce

Peterson House is an absolute dream to shoot! I love that I can get ceremony shots inside and then change up the lighting with the sandstone chapel outside all in one place. Came in October over the long weekend and it was an absolute treat! Emma was absolutely phenomenal and recommended great wines! I will absolutely be coming back here again! Emma is an absolute gem!! You will definitely have an amazing time and great if you come. The sparkling Shiraz is a highlight along with the muscat.

Blackbut Reserve is such an amazing place for nature and photography lovers. You can spot plenty of wildlife, from birds to wallabies, making photo hunting really exciting. The atmosphere is calm, green, and relaxing-perfect for a walk while carrying your camera. It's also a great place for families, a fun walk with friends, or just to enjoy a refreshing day outdoors. Truly a fun and memorable spot for everyone.

I visited this place on a lovely afternoon and had an amazing experience. The parking was convenient and well-organized. Birds and different animals were freely around the area, which made it both exciting and enjoyable to watch. The pleasant sound of birds created a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. There were also great facilities for barbecue and seating, making it a perfect spot to spend time. The weather was wonderful, and everything together made it a truly memorable visit.

I spent a lovely morning at the Blackbutt Nature Reserve and it was great! We saw wallabies, one koala, emus and much more. The park in itself is really nice and very well organized. It’s perfect for families with kids ! We finished our morning having lunch at the park, as there are many pic nic tables. The reserve is free but the parking lot is around 6$ by hour. We had a coffee and a matcha at the cafe there and it was not really good … we also waited a lot.

Nice park with relaxing area with a playground near the cafe. Many beautiful birds and a paved pathway to see various animals. We saw birds, kangaroos, emus, reptiles and a koala. It was busy but festive on the weekend we went. Overall a great place to visit.

Great for a family day out or a place to hang with friends. There are plenty of spots to sit and have a picnic, including picnic tables. Kids area is great. Cafe has a good selection - all sorts of flavoured croissants, biscuits and cakes, as well as a full menu of breakfast and lunch food. I had a Nutella cookie and it was extremely good! The main nature walk includes koalas, wallabys, lizards, frogs, and birds of all sorts. The emu and kangaroo area is always good to walk around. There are plenty of walking tracks through the reserve. Entry is free, but parking is not. Not really any public transport options, and the road outside the reserve is pretty dangerous to try to cross and theres minimal space to walk on that side of the road. Very much not walkable to there if you live nearby.

I've always loved Blackbutt and spent many happy hours there as a child, with my children and now grand children. But honestly, charging for parking? Any wonder the car park was empty, a disgraceful grab for cash.

Fantastic experience and was a great morning out. We just did the self guided tour and enjoyed the observations and stories about previous employees. Very interesting history and easy to navigate. Highly recommend if you're in the area! Only suggestion I have for visitors is probably leave the younger kids at home! My older two (7 & 5) enjoyed it but the 3 year old got bored quickly.

Fascinating and confronting - the prison is in an excellent state of preservation and the various eras are well represented in the surviving buildings. The stories from inmates and guards range from sad to spine chilling. An important relic of Australian history preserved for everyone to visit.

What a waste of money. We did the night tour. Young children crying and wanting to leave. People with torches in your face. Nothing too exciting or interesting. People filming for a paranormal experience with fake noises in the background.

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the ‘Crimes of Passion’ night tour. Our knowledgable and charismatic guide, Robyn and her storytelling ability made it an immersive and memorable experience. We’d recommend this tour and a visit to Maitland Gaol, and will be sure to return :)

This was a mix between serious ghost hunt and theatrical horror house. The atmosphere at night is amazingly solemn and creepy. We were told some interesting history on the tour. I wish I had done a little more research into the history before the tour so that I could have put myself into the experience more.

I have quite a fascination with jails so this of course was a must visit. I did the self guided tour and throughly enjoyed walking around listening to the stories while checking the place out. Highly recommend visiting to anyone considering it.

The walking trail from **Merewether Beach** to **King Edward Park Lookout** is about 6 km return. I enjoyed a wonderful 1.5-hour walk on a delightful afternoon. The weather was perfect, the beach was absolutely stunning, and the sunset created a magical atmosphere. Along the way, I saw many people walking, exercising, and enjoying their time, which made the whole experience even more lively and enjoyable.

Nice short walk that gives you a great views of the ocean and city. You also get to know more about the history of ANZAC during WW1. I recommend going here to view the sunset.

Great coastal walk along some of Newcastle's best beaches like Bar Beach, Merewether Beach. You can walk all the way to Newcastle and spot a hang glider or 2.

Wonderful coastline walk with well documented military history along the way. Plenty of parking at either end. Dogs not permitted but they are permitted along the existing footpath which follows the walk on the street. Lots of stairs and hill down to Bar beach. Would recommend.

Was so amazing. Being able to feed so many different animals, milk cows and see the bay goats. Loved the reptile show and being able to touch them. Staff are so friendly and informative about ask the animals.

Refreshing experience, nice place for kids and families. Clean bathrooms and great coffee. Parking was sufficient and spacious. Staff was friendly. Would love to see more animals and more hands on experiences apart from feeding, milking etc.

Went by myself to kill some time, had a great time. I did the koala encounter and the keeper was so fun and knew so much about the koalas. Fed so many animals and had a great time, loved the baby goats and all the birds, there was a black cockatoo that was very entertaining to watch, everything was so clean and it was a great experience

Great family friendly place. Water park is great! Nice park to walk around in with a good variety of animals. They have a new red panda enclosure but unfortunately we couldn't spot any. Admission is quite pricey but so is pretty much everywhere else these days! More seating needed around the park..

Best wildlife nearby Sydney. Tallonga has much animals but cannot touch. Featherdale may can touch but costs lot.. However here can touch and feed Koala and Kangaroo. However you shall visit on open time 10AM animals will sleep on daytime.

Came here during our time away in Nelson's Bay. Good variety of animals and they looked well kept. Goats and Kangaroos were very friendly. Lenny the Long horn was a stand out, what an aweome dude!

Haven't been to Oakvale farm for years, and thought I'd take my grand daughter. She, and I both loved it. The animals are well looked after and very gentle.

Always skipped this place in the past, but this time around, we managed to stop by It has an amazing panoramic view of some areas of Port Stephens. Parking spots are very limited, though.

It's a very useful lookout point. Wonderful views we stayed for about 20mins parking is very limited.

A quick stop for an incredible view. There are two areas to enjoy the view. Free parking is available in a small parking area at the lookout.

The drive up is steep and winding, but the view from the top is absolutely worth it! You get a breathtaking 360-degree panorama of the entire Port Stephens area, including the bay, Tomaree Head, and the surrounding landscape. It's the perfect first stop to get your bearings and appreciate the scale of this beautiful region. A must-do for the view alone!

Gorgeous short 1km hike to the summit, beautiful 360 views at the top. Lots of stairs near the top, there are a few options to choose a paved path or traditional hiking path. These can be down in sneakers or even summer sandals if you didn’t pack hiking boots. It took me 12 minutes to get to the top, only stopping twice for a quick picture.

Definitely another must visit at Shoal Bay, in addition to the summit walk. It’s an easy flat walk with ocean breeze and access to the WWII torpedo emplacement & six inch gun emplacement, just be careful navigating through the rocks.

The Tomaree Coast track offers a great days hiking along this beautiful coastline! So much to see along the way.

Well it's quite a walk up the hill but I took some water and got up to the top and wow what have you if you make the trip up the mountain it is well worth it lot of spots it's quite easy the pathway is a lot better than what it used to be they spend a bit of time fixing up the path I do recommend going up the hill if you have the time the views are excellent from mwh

Level walk to Tomaree head (unlike Tomaree summit) wonderful views up Nelson Bay and to Shoal Bay.

Mozzie alert ☹️ I should have read reviews before we trekked up to the lookout. We were attacked! So take repellent. The 360 degree view is a bit of a stretch as we could only see through the trees to Forster. Trees prevented any other views but we all felt it was worth it for that view 😁

Fairly easy walk up to the lookout where you need to climb up a few sets of stairs. You can see views to Main beach, unfortunately, the trees have grown and impeded the views south and west towards the lake. There were also swarms of mozzies++!! (April)

Lovely view. Very peaceful. To reach the lookout you will need to climb stairs for 15 to 20 mins depending on your fitness level. There are seats for rest along the way. I absolutely needed them. At the top is a lookout tower. It looks out over Forster on one side, and the ocean on the other.

Good lookout, the hike up is about 15min at a leisurely pace, mainly dirt stairs, there are benches to sit on along the way, mozzies are quite bad so bring your mozzie spray. The trees are getting tall but can still see enough.

Really nice hike, the sign says 15-20 minutes but it only took us about 10 to walk and we weren’t that fast. Lots of mosquitos so go in prepared, we didn’t know! Beautiful views and so worth it

Incredible views! Short walk up, all stairs but very worth it.

As a bigger girl, I was very glad that there were benches along the way to the lookout to have a rest. Once getting there the view was nice but could have been better. I just think if some of the trees were trimmed a down a little the view from the lookout would be even better as I thought they were in the way.
