Very clean and well space camping areas, we stayed at Dee's Corner and some of the site away from the road have great shade and are all very close to the lake, water is brackish but clean and clean. Sandy bottom made it easy to walk about.
There is a walking track to the surf beach directly opposite the camp ground, with a pretty easy walk to the beach.
There is 4wd access to the beach there too but you do need a permit.

Book early for campsites, make sure that you can get to the campsite that you book and please remove your booking if you can't actually use it as many people love the sites and book but don't actually pitch up on the day.
Wonderful bush camping spots in Mungo Brush campground, near the water ( where you can see sunsets over the lake)and right next to a section of rainforest, home to 1000's of fruit bats.
Incredible birdwatching as well, including the glorious black and gold regent bowerbird.
Pit toilets, no showers, bring own water.
Clean camping area's, waste bins onsite, public toilets, boat ramp, great for swimming, close to beach, 4wd drive access to beach.
Australia has many beautiful natural places to enjoy.
Mall lakes has the lakes and the ocean .
Great park - there are camping fees and park entry fees but it's well worth it for the facilities and how beautiful this park is. Bring you're own firewood if there isn't a ban and keep your eye out for dingoes and goannas.

I absolutely loved the walking trails such as the Mungo Rainforest walk and the one to Dark Point, where you get really breathtaking views!

Tomaree Head is a must-visit destination in Port Stephens, offering sandy beaches and hiking trails that lead up bush-clad mountains for stunning ocean views. The 2.2-kilometer summit walk is a popular choice for hikers, providing an energetic but achievable challenge with breathtaking views at the 161-meter-high summit. Visitors can access the start of the hike at Tomaree National Park, located on the other side of Shoal Bay.
About 1 km of very scenic vegetation, elevated walk away. Moderate ability. Some climbing up the stairs. The views were awesome. You can see many bays and coves from the summit. Definitely worth a visit when you’re in this area.

Gorgeous short 1km hike to the summit, beautiful 360 views at the top. Lots of stairs near the top, there are a few options to choose a paved path or traditional hiking path. These can be down in sneakers or even summer sandals if you didn’t pack hiking boots. It took me 12 minutes to get to the top, only stopping twice for a quick picture.
Definitely another must visit at Shoal Bay, in addition to the summit walk. It’s an easy flat walk with ocean breeze and access to the WWII torpedo emplacement & six inch gun emplacement, just be careful navigating through the rocks.
The Tomaree Coast track offers a great days hiking along this beautiful coastline! So much to see along the way.
Well it's quite a walk up the hill but I took some water and got up to the top and wow what have you if you make the trip up the mountain it is well worth it lot of spots it's quite easy the pathway is a lot better than what it used to be they spend a bit of time fixing up the path I do recommend going up the hill if you have the time the views are excellent from mwh

Nelson Head Lighthouse Reserve Museum, located on a headland 53 meters above Port Stephens, has been home to a lighthouse since 1875. The museum is housed in the historic lighthouse keepers cottage and offers visitors a glimpse into the original living quarters, the lightroom, as well as displays of photographs, seafaring memorabilia, maps and historical information about the coastline.
Need to walk little more, don’t forget to carry a bottle of water. View is awesome.

We had scones & jam and coffee , but the menu is excellent
I brought along 34 elderly tourists from Qld for lunch and despite overwhelming the staff in the cafe, they handled it with amazing calm, great service and delicious food, everyone was delighted with their lunch. Could have easily polished off a couple more of the yummy citrus tarts. The museum is great as well, so much fascinating local history

We had breakfast at the cafe inside the original Light keeper's cottage. It was excellent with great water views. There is a Museum and a Golf Shop, entry by gold coin donation. Well worth a visit.

Only a gold coin donation the museum is situated in 3 rooms of the lighthouse cottage. One room consists of some local shipping history, one room is about the gun emplacements and ww2 history and the third about the marine rescue history. There is a gift shop and nearby tea rooms as well. Not very many car parks so you might have to be patient.

The Marina is situated next to the Nelson Bay's City Centre. It has it's own public paid parking limited to 4 hrs at about $5 per hour. There are some cafes and restaurants around. It's a nice place to be.
Taking a ferry cruise is a unique and enjoyable way to travel, especially if you're crossing between islands or coastal cities. From the moment you board, you’re welcomed by fresh sea air, wide open views, and the relaxing sound of the waves.
Have a chance to do ferry to see the whale from Nelson bay. Beautiful places. Lots of restaurant. Have car park space. Good souvenir shop.
The marina is the meeting place for a whale watching tour

A quick stop for an incredible view. There are two areas to enjoy the view. Free parking is available in a small parking area at the lookout.
The drive up is steep and winding, but the view from the top is absolutely worth it! You get a breathtaking 360-degree panorama of the entire Port Stephens area, including the bay, Tomaree Head, and the surrounding landscape. It's the perfect first stop to get your bearings and appreciate the scale of this beautiful region. A must-do for the view alone!

Oakvale Wildlife Park is a 25-acre attraction that offers an array of fun activities for all ages. Visitors can interact with animals such as kangaroos and koalas by feeding them. Additionally, the water play area is perfect for cooling down on hot days with its big splash bucket suitable for everyone. The park is well-maintained with plenty of green grass and not too dusty.
We had a brilliant day here, 3 generations of family.
Clean, well kept amenities including BBQ s, children's playgrounds, and best of all handfeeding baby farm animals was a big win.
The free tractor trailer rides really showcase this Wildlife facility, highly recommended for younger kids and primary age.

Was so amazing. Being able to feed so many different animals, milk cows and see the bay goats. Loved the reptile show and being able to touch them. Staff are so friendly and informative about ask the animals.
Refreshing experience, nice place for kids and families. Clean bathrooms and great coffee. Parking was sufficient and spacious. Staff was friendly. Would love to see more animals and more hands on experiences apart from feeding, milking etc.
Went by myself to kill some time, had a great time. I did the koala encounter and the keeper was so fun and knew so much about the koalas. Fed so many animals and had a great time, loved the baby goats and all the birds, there was a black cockatoo that was very entertaining to watch, everything was so clean and it was a great experience
Great family friendly place. Water park is great! Nice park to walk around in with a good variety of animals. They have a new red panda enclosure but unfortunately we couldn't spot any.
Admission is quite pricey but so is pretty much everywhere else these days! More seating needed around the park..

Featherdale may can touch but costs lot..
However here can touch and feed Koala and Kangaroo.

Came here during our time away in Nelson's Bay. Good variety of animals and they looked well kept. Goats and Kangaroos were very friendly. Lenny the Long horn was a stand out, what an aweome dude!
Haven't been to Oakvale farm for years, and thought I'd take my grand daughter. She, and I both loved it. The animals are well looked after and very gentle.

Nestled just a short 20-minute drive north of Newcastle, Fighter World is an aviation museum that promises an unforgettable experience for aviation enthusiasts and families alike. Fighter world has done a fantastic job on displaying Australia’s aircraft history. There were a large variety of aircraft on display along with ammunition, weapons, and jet engines.
I loved that it was family friendly and gave you the chance to sit in the cockpit, giving an appreciation of the jet fighter.
The Friendly Guides were a great source of information. They were very passionate on what they were talking about and looking at. They certainly did make our visit enjoyable.
The outdoor viewing platform overlooking the RAAF Base gave us the audio from the air traffic control while we could hear and see the planes taking off and landing. The noise and speed of the aircraft were unreal
There is also a cafe next to the hanger with outdoor seating, so you don't miss the action.
Parking is plenty and free.
Toilets facilities were clean.
I would recommend visiting and spending a few hours wandering around looking and reading the history of these great giants of the sky.

Located at 49 Medowie Road, Williamtown, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺.
This is a great place to come to. The display of the fighter jets is quite vast and the history of Australian fighter jets is amazing. You also get to see the ammunition, the weapons, the engines and so much more. Very well set out and easy to follow. If you are lucky enough, while enjoying a wonderful drink or meal at the attached “My Three Beans” Cafe, you might get to see some jets taking off or landing. The noise is so loud but well worth seeing. It’s amazing to experience. Admission to the museum is $20 adults, $11 children (under 5 years free) and senior/pensioner $16. I thought this very reasonable considering everything you get to see. There are toilets available, including disabled) around the back of the building. There’s plenty of parking 🅿️ and it’s free 🆓. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend visiting here. Thumbs up!!! 👍👍👍
Very informative displays and I even got to chat to a former F111 pilot!! … The best part is the second storey platform at the rear where you can see - up close - F35 fighter taking off and land. What a thrill … the little coffee shop next door is very reasonable priced and had a great variety on the menu
The staff at William Fighter World were incredibly friendly and helpful. The aircraft displays were impressive, especially the F-18 fighter jet. There’s also another exhibition hall accessible from the back door, with even more to explore. Definitely worth a visit.”
On Tuesday at around 12:55 pm, I bought tickets online a week in advance. Walk-ins were also fine. If I had to be honest, we thought the museum was small, but it was actually quite large! There were massive jets, and we even got to sit in one! The staff was lovely and very informative.
We weren’t busy until about 1:30 pm. We really loved seeing the showcased jets. Then, we saw massive jets taking off! We didn’t know of any jets as it was our first time thinking it was just a museum, but not realising it was outside Williamtown RAAF. There weren’t just one, but two jets, and then a heap of different planes going!
This experience was amazing, and I honestly fell in love with jets. Seeing and hearing how loud they were was crazy! They had bathrooms and an outer deck to see the jets taking off. Honestly, it was an 11/10 experience. I would definitely go again!
Highly recommend a trip to Fighter World. We had some time between our arriving flight and hotel check in and it was worth the stop!
Whole family (kids 13, 11, 9 and 8) thoroughly enjoyed, as did the adults.
- Can not thank Steve enough for taking us around and giving us a real understanding of what we were viewing, even explaining things to the kids and answering any questions.
- This can be a self guided experience with plenty of information provided on signs, however I strongly encourage you to talk to the gentlemen on the floor. They have first hand experience and are so full of knowledge and passion.
- We managed to time it well enough to see some jets taking off and landing which was a great (noisy) experience!
- We stopped for lunch at the Cafe which has heaps of variety, was all reasonably priced and was tasty.
Overall a great way to spend a few hours especially on a rainy day, we did not prebook and there was no wait.

What a great place to visit. You can get up close to the Jets you can even sit in one. Very knowledgeable volunteers to answer any questions you may have. Nice little gift shop and there's even a cafe that overlooks the airport. Highly recommend visiting.

Maitland gaol was a great experience with a great audio tour from your own mobile phone. I was able to stream this straight to my cochlear implants and also have the transcript to read as well for full accessibility. We’re looking forward to coming back when we can tour the towers.

Fantastic experience and was a great morning out. We just did the self guided tour and enjoyed the observations and stories about previous employees. Very interesting history and easy to navigate. Highly recommend if you're in the area! Only suggestion I have for visitors is probably leave the younger kids at home! My older two (7 & 5) enjoyed it but the 3 year old got bored quickly.
Fascinating and confronting - the prison is in an excellent state of preservation and the various eras are well represented in the surviving buildings. The stories from inmates and guards range from sad to spine chilling. An important relic of Australian history preserved for everyone to visit.
What a waste of money. We did the night tour. Young children crying and wanting to leave. People with torches in your face. Nothing too exciting or interesting. People filming for a paranormal experience with fake noises in the background.
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the ‘Crimes of Passion’ night tour. Our knowledgable and charismatic guide, Robyn and her storytelling ability made it an immersive and memorable experience. We’d recommend this tour and a visit to Maitland Gaol, and will be sure to return :)
This was a mix between serious ghost hunt and theatrical horror house.
The atmosphere at night is amazingly solemn and creepy.
We were told some interesting history on the tour. I wish I had done a little more research into the history before the tour so that I could have put myself into the experience more.
I have quite a fascination with jails so this of course was a must visit.
I did the self guided tour and throughly enjoyed walking around listening to the stories while checking the place out.
Highly recommend visiting to anyone considering it.

This is such a great gallery with really interesting and diverse spaces. We came at a great time with three beautiful exhibitions on. The volunteers were helpful, engaging and seemed very passionate and knowledgeable about the exhibits.

The MRAG is as rich in its display as it is with warm accommodating staff. I was welcomed by Ms Belinda and gave me information about the current exhibits and how to go about my way around the galleries. The collections were all dazzling and amazing. I loved the Portraits the most as well as the miniature displays. I definitely would visit again every time I come to Maitland. Inspiring and entertaining!

Located almost next to the Newcastle beach (approximately 2 km), this is also a beautiful beach to enjoy. We visited this place during our road trip from QLD to Melbourne. The weather was pleasant and the beach wasn't busy during that time.
Nobbys Beach is one of my favorite places in Newcastle. The walkway is beautiful on both sides, with stunning ocean views, and at the end, you can often spot two or more sea lions, making it a perfect place to capture special moments.
This wonderful beach offers excellent surfing and swimming conditions, complemented by convenient amenities such as showers, restrooms, and a snack bar, all under the watchful eye of our dedicated lifeguards. The snack bar is a bit pricy, some of the toilets are unter renovation and no puplic WLAN for guests yet.
Nobbys Beach is the perfect spot to start the day. Watching the sunrise here is absolutely breathtaking — the colours over the water are stunning and worth the early wake-up. It’s also great for people-watching, with a mix of surfers, joggers, and families soaking up the morning vibe. Walking the break wall is a highlight too; it’s the ideal way to get your steps in while enjoying the fresh sea breeze and panoramic views. Whether you’re after a peaceful moment, some light exercise, or just a scenic spot to take it all in, Nobbys Beach never disappoints.

Worth the walk to the end of the break wall. Rock art and interesting plaques along the way. We were lucky enough to be accompanied by a large pod of dolphins heading out to sea amongst the coal tankers.

Absolutely wonderful tunnel tour for $15 per adult. The historical society volunteer guides are great and explaining everything and happy to answer any questions. They’ve done a wonderful job at keeping the fort open to the public and restoring a huge piece of local history. Amazing views from the top with plenty of ocean life to watch. Would highly recommend.

Loved the fort, it was awesome to see a real piece of history and how our land was protected. It's free to walk around but need to pay for the tunnels, which are pretty cool as well. If you go before 1:00pm make sure you stick around as there is the one o'clock gun that goes off.

Great place, very well taken cared and shown by a very enthusiastic staff of volunters, witnessed the 13:00p cannon shot followed by a guided visit to the tunnels, that's really the part you have to pay for,the fortress itself is free, but if you ask me it's absolutely worth every cent.
Admission is free, and the staff at the front gate are very friendly, welcoming us and providing some additional information. The panoramic view from the top is truly awesome, and I highly recommend a visit when you are in Newcastle.

Blackbut Reserve is such an amazing place for nature and photography lovers. You can spot plenty of wildlife, from birds to wallabies, making photo hunting really exciting. The atmosphere is calm, green, and relaxing-perfect for a walk while carrying your camera. It's also a great place for families, a fun walk with friends, or just to enjoy a refreshing day outdoors. Truly a fun and memorable spot for everyone.
I visited this place on a lovely afternoon and had an amazing experience. The parking was convenient and well-organized. Birds and different animals were freely around the area, which made it both exciting and enjoyable to watch. The pleasant sound of birds created a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. There were also great facilities for barbecue and seating, making it a perfect spot to spend time. The weather was wonderful, and everything together made it a truly memorable visit.
I spent a lovely morning at the Blackbutt Nature Reserve and it was great! We saw wallabies, one koala, emus and much more. The park in itself is really nice and very well organized. It’s perfect for families with kids !
We finished our morning having lunch at the park, as there are many pic nic tables.
The reserve is free but the parking lot is around 6$ by hour.
We had a coffee and a matcha at the cafe there and it was not really good … we also waited a lot.
Nice park with relaxing area with a playground near the cafe. Many beautiful birds and a paved pathway to see various animals. We saw birds, kangaroos, emus, reptiles and a koala. It was busy but festive on the weekend we went. Overall a great place to visit.
Great for a family day out or a place to hang with friends. There are plenty of spots to sit and have a picnic, including picnic tables. Kids area is great. Cafe has a good selection - all sorts of flavoured croissants, biscuits and cakes, as well as a full menu of breakfast and lunch food. I had a Nutella cookie and it was extremely good! The main nature walk includes koalas, wallabys, lizards, frogs, and birds of all sorts. The emu and kangaroo area is always good to walk around. There are plenty of walking tracks through the reserve.
Entry is free, but parking is not. Not really any public transport options, and the road outside the reserve is pretty dangerous to try to cross and theres minimal space to walk on that side of the road. Very much not walkable to there if you live nearby.
I've always loved Blackbutt and spent many happy hours there as a child, with my children and now grand children. But honestly, charging for parking? Any wonder the car park was empty, a disgraceful grab for cash.
Wonderful! Helpful guides, beautiful wildlife that are so well taken care of! Great playground for the small humans too!

Charlie she was amazing with our tasting, we also stayed and the studio apartment and ate at the deck restaurant this place is a serious triple!! Absolutely SENSATIONAL! And most of all DOG friendly throughout.
We travelled from Sydney to the Hunter Valley for a hot air balloon experience, which was incredible, but the true highlight of our trip was our visit here for a wine tasting. We were fortunate to be served by Chanel, who was simply outstanding. Her warmth, professionalism, and deep knowledge of the wines made the entire experience unforgettable. Chanel’s genuine enthusiasm and engaging personality elevated the tasting to another level. She is an absolute credit to the team, and we can’t recommend both this venue — and Chanel herself — highly enough.

Me and my friends had a great time. Chanel was what we needed, funny and knowledgeable. She listened to the whole group and what they liked and shared a joke or two when appropriate! There was even a baby goat who came to say hello.
My partner and I come here everytime we are in HV! The staff are so knowledgeable and the tastings are laid back. Some wineries can be stuffy, but this place isn’t. They have a fab restaurant as well but we always go there for the wine. Best sparkling red!
Lovely spot for wine tasting, their wines are delicious! The food at the cafe was also pretty good.

Beautiful place, going to the Falls is a must visit. You will love this place after visiting the Falls and spending some time there. You won't really be able to swim as the water is shallow. The path to reach the Falls will take about 45 min but worth the pain. NO PAIN NO GAIN. Some steep steps down, any kids should be watched on by a parent as getting down and coming back up is a hard journey. ❤❤. You will love the falls
Amazing Australian forest. Make sure to bring some mosquitos repelent b3cause you will definitely need one. Very humid environment. If you go down the waterfall treck you will have a refreshing reward at the end.
A relatively off the beaten path feel for National Park close to suburbia. Would be good for 4WD (mostly dirt roads) and mountain biking. Did a short loop walk through the rainforest which was good.
If you can visit on a weekday - it's alot quieter. Beautiful forest areas, some with fern lined roads. Lots of beautiful bird calls.
Mostly need an AWD for access as there's often lots of potholes and some are quite deep. Wouldn't recommend a sedan in most parts.
If a road says unmaintained - it is only for the seasoned 4WD drivers.
Must take own food, water & drinks. Take away your own rubbish. Remember insect repellant & be prepared for leeches in damp areas.
Be sure to check your maps before entering the park as there may be no service in some areas.

Wow, what an absolutely awesome place come and visit, you can take a tour of the light house for $15 for adults and $10 for children, there is also a coffee shop with outdoor seating and also has beautiful rock landscape among the ocean to take a walk and get some selfies in, it's definitely one for the bucket list.

We visited Norah Head Lighthouse while on a short stopover in Norah Head. It is an interesting place that has been preserved nicely and is maintained by volunteers. There are interesting information boards that highlight the history of the headland, including details of every shipwreck in the area since the 1800s. A very interesting place. Although there were no tours when we were there, volunteers do conduct tours when the weather is suitable.
A great place for a weekend or week day visit. You can have a guided tour up into the light house with spectacular views over the coast line. The lighthoise is open for tours 10.30 till 1.30 7 days a week. Alternatively you can walk around the lighthouse along the walkways. There are also great cafe's in the main street you can visit for lunch coffee of a quick bite to eat.

This was an amazing place. The views over the ocean were fantastic. We couldn’t get our past the gate which was locked but there is an accessible walkway from the car park 🅿️ leading past the cottages to the lighthouse. The lighthouse was built between 1901 to 1903 to protect ships travelling from Sydney to Newcastle . There are private tours on offer and to climb the stairs it cost $10 for adults and $5 for children. The cottages are also available to stay in. There is a small shop that offers some basic souvenirs and food/drinks. If you are feeling up to it, it’s definitely worth the climb to the top. It’s 100 steps and the views are stunning. You are blessed with 360 views of Norah Head. Be warned that the steps are narrow and it’s a spiral staircase. This was a memorable experience and I would definitely recommend a visit. A lovely place to have a walk around the rocks and little beaches but you need to be able to climb some stairs. The lighthouse and surrounds are easy Accessed by wheelchairs. Beautiful scenery

The tour of the light house is well worth doing. The tour guide was very informative and entertaining and the views were amazing. The lighthouse is a beautiful old structure.

We reached at 3:31pm and the talk lasted about 12-15 minutes. After which the pelicans left and went into the water. The talk was quite informative. It is a free experience and you may give a small donation at the end of the talk if you wish to.
We came once before about 5 years ago and got a much closer experience with the pelicans as we arrived well before time. The pelicans were all over the place and we got an up close and personnel experience with them.
A fantastic free event with inspiring volunteers committed to helping injured birds and sharing their passion for the noble pelican. Well run and starts on time. Clearly popular son pays to come a little early.
Visited first time with family. 3.30Pm started to feed Pelican birds. It is waiting before 30 to 45 minutes. Selective crowds are gathering and watching the show. Very interesting to watch the show.
Everytime we have friends and relatives from overseas it's on our must do list. It used to be an amazing experience seeing the huge numbers of pelicans waiting to being fed. Some would wait their turn while others were flying in. Others flying out once they received their rewards. Now it's turned into a talk about checking the pelicans health. They have a small bucket of chopped up fish to hand out so only about a handful come to visit. Good on them for what they do. Pelicans are truly beautiful birds but I wouldn't drive 1.5 hours just to see a few birds for 15 minutes. We have them in Sydney too.
It was really lovely to see the pelicans being fed, the ladies were fabulous, and those cheeky pelicans gave us a great show of entertainment.
Visited after many years, still as attractive as before. The area has been renovated and the new water play area for kids is yet to open.
It was a fascinating talk and fun to be so close to these amazing birds. Young children may want to sit in the second row because the birds can get quite excited and accidentally swipe you with their huge wings.

Terrigal Beach is a popular city beach known for its calm surf conditions, making it perfect for swimming, boating, and scuba diving. Terrigal Beach is located in Sydney's Central Coast area. Take the train from Sydney's Central Railway Station to Gosford, and then take bus No. 67/68 to get there. The weather was very sunny on the day we went there. In such weather, the beauty of Terrigal Beach is fully exposed.
There are many things to see and do in Terrigal, such as the War Memorial Pavilion in Figure 2, hiking along the Broadwalk, enjoying different sea views, and taking photos (Figures 19, 7-9, 11), climbing the Skillion (a small hill) to view the Terrigal coastline, and admiring Terrigal Beach from Haven (a large grassy slope) (Figure 6). You can also go kayaking and paddle boarding at the lagoon on the other side (especially suitable for families with children) (Figures 15-18)
On the other side of the Boardwalk is the town's commercial street, where Crowne Plaza (Figure 13) is located. There are many shops, small art galleries and bars downstairs in the Plaza, which are well worth a visit. In addition, there are many kinds of shops in the commercial street, including clothing stores, gift shops, various restaurants, fast food restaurants, etc. However, when we went there on Christmas Eve, many shops were closed, and it was a bit deserted.
I call it a secret place because the scenery here is not inferior to beaches like Bondi or Manly, but it is not as famous as Bondi or Manly. It is a hidden place that only some Sydneysiders and Central Coast locals know about.

I visited Terrigal Beach with my work friends, driving just an hour and a half from Sydney. These are photos from the sunrise that truly impressed me. There was a lovely beachfront market, people walking their dogs, and some enjoying coffee while watching the sunrise. The place is beautiful, with a great atmosphere and not too crowded. I absolutely love it here — it’s perfect for me, and I can’t wait to come back again.

We had such a beautiful time at Terrigal Beach,it's one of those places that instantly makes you feel relaxed and refreshed. The golden sand stretches wide and long, perfect for a peaceful walk or just lying back under the sun. The water was clean and calm, great for both swimming and just dipping your toes in.
What really made the visit special was the vibrant but laid-back vibe. The beachfront is lined with charming cafes, little shops, and restaurants where you can grab a coffee or enjoy fresh seafood with an ocean view. We also loved the Terrigal Haven, a short walk from the main beach, perfect spot for snorkeling or watching the sunset.
Parking was pretty easy to find, and the area felt safe and family-friendly. Whether you're going with friends, family, or on a solo getaway, Terrigal Beach has something for everyone. Can't wait to go back!
It’s not very busy and extremely underrated compared to the nearby, much more popular beaches such as the entrance. It has gorgeous views and is generally a nice place to visit.
A really beautiful beach. Can be crowded, especially on a weekend but it’s still a wonderful beach to come to. Terrigal Beach is one of the most popular beaches on the Central Coast . There is designated parking but that can get full very quickly especially when it’s busy. There is a small ocean rock pool tucked away into the cliff on the southern end of the pool and is patrolled all year for safe swimming. There’s good toilet and shower facilities and also handicapped toilets. The picnic areas include grassed areas and under cover picnic tables. There is also a fantastic walking path leading to the Terrigal Boardwalk. There’s plenty of cafes and restaurants around that you can grab something to eat. Unfortunately, the beach does not cater for people with accessibility needs. The view is stunning, so beautiful. Would definitely recommend a visit.

We had a lovely time today. We came especially for the Bluey experience and it was definitely well worth it. My daughter was so happy to meet Bluey and Bingo and have a photo taken with them. We were not rushed at all and she was given the chance to give them each a hug.
We loved seeing the koalas and the Galapagos turtles the most. The interaction with the kangaroos was unforgettable. Got to see the cranky Croc but were unable to see the show as it was too crowded.
It was so lovely to be out in nature. Loved to learn about the breeding programs they had. The staff were very friendly. Definitely recommend

We had a fantastic day at the Australian Reptile Park! The park has an impressive collection of reptiles and Australian native animals — from snakes and crocodiles to koalas and Tasmanian devils. The kids especially loved feeding the friendly wallabies and kangaroos, and the highlight of the day was meeting Bluey and Bingo! The park also has lovely picnic areas and a great playground, making it a perfect spot for families to relax and enjoy the day. Highly recommended for a fun and educational outing!
We mainly visited the park for the Bluey show but everything else was great too. The place is nice, not too crowded and kids friendly. It's not huge like other zoos which makes the walking easier with young kids. It has a playground with shaded seats for parents. The shows were quite fun and entertaining and staffs were friendly and knowledgeable.
This was honestly really well done. It was obvious the staff cared about the animals the various medical works they support as well as having a nice well kept park. It was a bit expensive, but I can see how the money was being used unlike so many other places. This is definitely a recommend, especially on weekends
I had an amazing time visiting the Australian Reptile Park! The park is beautifully maintained, and you can tell the animals are really well cared for. There’s such a great variety — from reptiles and kangaroos to koalas and crocodiles — and everything is easy to see and enjoy.
The staff truly make the experience special. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the animals. They took the time to answer questions, share fun facts, and make visitors feel welcome. You can really see how much they love what they do.
The shows and talks were entertaining and educational, and it’s great to know that the park plays a big role in wildlife conservation and education in Australia.
Highly recommend a visit for families, tourists, or anyone who loves animals. A big thank you to the whole team at the Australian Reptile Park for making it such an enjoyable and memorable day!

Cool place! The reptile talk was very good, the guy who did it was entertaining and clearly very knowledgeable. The spider section was a bit disappointing - more fake spiders than real ones! The gators and snakes were highlights, though.

Our family took a visiting work colleague from overseas on the 9-12 tour and it was a most enjoyable morning. Even though I've lived in Sydney my whole life, this was a perspective I've never had before. Enjoying a quiet, empty, picturesque beach and bush track like that, you'd think you were miles from anywhere. The views at the top were as beautiful as any in the world. Our children are 7 and 10, and if you're taking children, you can expect they will help paddle intermittently and take breaks, so it'd be good if they are with an adult capable of doing the majority of the work. Our guest enjoyed the experience very much, as did we all. Thanks to our guide, Stu!

Beaches are always a serene space and provide calmness. Should always enjoy it whenever we need grounding for ourselves. And we are confused. These open beaches can transform our thoughts and rejuvenate us, when we keep observing the sea and the surroundings. So enjoy your solitude here or with family.
Take a ferry from Circular Quay to Manly in the morning, enjoy the food, surroundings and the beach, return back to Circular Quay during sunset, you will love the transition.
Manly wharf is also really beautiful, there are few food spots in it.

Manly Beach is absolutely stunning! The sand is clean, the water is crystal clear, and the whole area has such a relaxing holiday vibe. My first trip to an Australian beach was to Manly, and it was amazing! The ferry ride from the city was beautiful, seeing the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge from the water is something I will never forget.
When I arrived, I was so impressed. The sand is so soft and white, and the beach is so long and wide. It's different from the beaches in Phuket or Koh Samui; the vibe here is very active, with so many people surfing! The water was a beautiful clear blue, a little chilly for me, but so refreshing.
I loved walking along The Corso, grabbing some fish and chips, and just watching everyone enjoy the sun. It felt so relaxing and happy. Manly Beach has a wonderful, laid-back feeling that is the perfect introduction to the famous Australian beach culture. It’s a day trip I would recommend to any of my friends back home in Thailand!

One of Sydney’s iconic beaches it was great to visit it during our recent stay. Gee it was busy around both the beach and town area. But that didn’t stop me from venturing in for a little swim and a play in the waves. The waves are huge and I was knocked over twice but that’s part of the fun right. Whilst we sat on the beach we witnessed a surf rescue. Those guys are superb at what they do.
Offer a perfect mix of laid-back vibes and stunning coastal views, ideal for both surfers and families. The scenic ferry ride from Circular Quay adds to the charm of the experience. Plenty of cafés, shops, and walking paths make it great for a day out.

Shelly Beach feels like a little lagoon at the edge of the city. The walk from Manly builds the anticipation, then the headland opens and you see a neat curve of sand, rock shelves on both sides and water that often looks as clear as glass. Mornings are lovely here. Locals filter in with masks and fins, kids do the sand shuffle at the shoreline, and you can hear the low boom of swell on the outer reef while the bay itself stays calm. It is one of those places where you drop your towel, take a breath and feel the pace of the day soften.
Bring a snorkel if you can. This is part of a marine reserve, and it shows. Float over ribbons of kelp and scattered boulders and you will usually spot schools of sweep and mado, the odd ray sliding across the sand and, if you are lucky, a blue groper cruising like it owns the place. Entry from the sand is simple and friendly for beginners. On days with a little surge, fins help and it pays to stay closer to the centre of the bay. The water clarity can be excellent after a run of light winds, so early starts often reward you with the best visibility and fewer people.
Everything you need sits close by. There are toilets, showers and taps behind the beach, barbecues and picnic tables tucked under the trees, and a café at the back for coffee or something cold between swims. Shade on the sand is limited, so a hat, water and sunscreen make life easier. Parking on nearby streets fills quickly on sunny weekends; the ferry to Manly and a short stroll along the path is the stress free option. Leave nothing but footprints, give the wildlife space and linger a little after your swim. Watching the colour of the bay shift while you warm up on the rocks is half the joy of Shelly.

Shelly beach was a great spot to swim! There are great shower and bathroom facilities just next to the beach, and the water was lovely. Lots of snorkelers, surfers and swimmers around.

The trail also connects several secret beaches like Fisher Bay and Sandy Beach before reaching the lively atmosphere of Manly with its restaurants and cafes.
If you’re not inclined to do the whole 10-kilometre walk from the Spit Bridge to Manly, a good option is to take advantage of the free parking on the lower streets of Fairlight, where you can walk down and join the path for a nice 2 to 2.5km walk into Manly. This way you can enjoy a lovely stroll and a day out in Manly, but avoid the cost of parking in Manly itself.
The gently winding path hugs the shoreline and has a few ups and downs along the way, but is fully paved and easily walkable for all fitness levels. Needless to say, the views are unbeatable. One of the best walks we’ve done in Sydney. And plenty of dogs along the path for added smiles! 😁

One of the best coastal walk trails in Australia. Start your journey from Manly wharf, allow yourself at least 3 hours to finish this amazing coastal hike. Bring lots of water, since there's no amenities around the area
It’s an amazing and rewarding 10km walk that showcases the natural beauty of Sydney Harbour. The walk starts at the Spit bridge and gets over at Manly Bay.
It approximately takes around 3.5 -4 hours to complete the walk at average speed with limited halts.
What amazed me was, the walk opens up to secluded beaches like Castle Rock Beach and Reef Beach which is very scenic and perfect for quick dip.
Really enjoyed and loved the scenic area around. A much recommended walk for everyone visiting Sydney.🙂

Fantastic walk if you want to see great scenery of one of Sydney's best coastal walks. It's a very known path, easy to see the signs and go through some bushes, aboriginal carvings, dog parks and many secluded nude beaches!
Be sure to pack some snacks and enough water. This 10km track will take you approximately 2.5-3hrs if you're not going in a big group.

Public hiking, no ticket required. We hiked for 10 km from Spit Bridge to Manly. Would say it's medium difficulty whenever the was rain, as the roads would be wet. Nice pathway provided along the walk. From greenery to beach view.
Recommended by a local while we rode the ferry in to Manly. Manly to Spit bridge walk has some beautiful views and an opportunities to discover some of the off grid beaches and coves. I particularly liked walking to the point where you have beautiful views of Sydney also the opening of the bay it’s about 10 km starting from the Wharf in Manly, but I just did up and back for about 10 km. My understanding is you can walk the whole way and catch a bus in to Sydney. But I wanted to take the ferry back.
There’s not many walks in Australia that can match the great walks of New Zealand, but when the sun is out, the Manly Spit Bridge Walk delivers.
Best of all, it’s an easy one to get to via public transport, elevation is minimal, and the track is (mostly) in good shape.
There are toilets located at a number of places, numerous spots you can bail out early and order a cab, and a few decent places to stop for a bite or a drink.
We did this with a ferry to Manly, and started the walk from the Wharf, completing it in about 4 hours, with a stop for lunch at the fabulous Bosk café at Clontarf and then an Uber back from Spit Junction (though there’s plenty of buses there).
The first section of the walk follows the wide esplanade round to Fairlight, diverting onto a few street before ducking back down to the harbour, and off the streets at North Harbour. From there it’s all off road, with some lovely patches of bushland, some sections which come right down to the harbour, and others which lift you up on to Dobroyd Head for views out of the Heads. There’s some steep steps around Castle Rocks, but most people of even basic fitness should be able to manage this walk.
There’s a little known coffee stand on the wharf at the Manly Boatshed, another café at North Harbour, and then it’s Clontarf and Spit Junction if you want lunch or a drink.
A world class walk, right on your doorstep Sydney, and it’s totally free.

An absolutely wonderful place and what a view! So many animals to look at and they all seem very healthy and well looked after. There's loads of viewing areas for each enclosure and space for everyone. We visited on a busy school holiday day and there was enough room for all. I love the fact that there are lots of zoo workers around to help or answer questions. The ticket price is well worth it. Well done Taronga Zoo.

I visited Taronga Zoo today with my big family, and it was my second time there. This is definitely one of the must-do experiences in Sydney. The vibes were amazing!
We went around midday, which isn’t really the ideal time to visit. If you want to see the animals more active and relaxed, it’s better to go either in the morning or later in the afternoon. That way, you’ll have a better chance of spotting most of them — including the lions. We did manage to see the lion, but only for a short while.
The seal show was absolutely amazing — you can’t afford to miss it! The energy, tricks, and connection between the trainers and seals were so fun to watch.
My kids absolutely loved it — from the animals to the shows, they were excited the whole time. It’s such a great place for families to spend the day together.
It was so much fun overall — from boarding the ferry to the very last moment. I missed taking the cable car on the way back, which I really recommend because it offers stunning views of Sydney Harbour and the Opera House.
Such a great experience — can’t wait to go again!
Beautiful zoo, very well maintained and thoughtfully designed, with plenty of walking areas and shaded promenades. The full visit, including the shows, takes around 4 to 5 hours. My advice: arrive early in the morning when the animals (especially the koalas) are most active. The views are absolutely stunning — overlooking the entire Sydney skyline, the Opera House, and Harbour Bridge. Staff are super friendly and helpful. A must-do for anyone visiting Sydney or looking for a great day escape!
Fantastic zoo, really well built and easy to navigate. The enclosures are all really well done and the animals look very happy and healthy. The food market was great and plenty of water stations around. I was surprised that the zoo didn't have any elephants but the seals did make up for it. We were lucky to catch the seal show which was brilliant. All in all a great day out.
Beautiful. Fun to get to via the ferries and direct bus service are convenient. Staff at the hut where Zoo members/friends go for free entry could be nicer, staff inside are wonderful, had a young lad help us to seats at a packed bird show. Cute restuarant (wish we had lunch there), the food court, where we had lunch unfortunetly, had overflowing bins and zero trays to carry your food.
The Zoo itself is very hilly and takes a good full day to see and experience everything.

The free flight bird display brought a tear to my eye; it was so very well done and against the backdrop of the city with some great music choices.
Chimpanzees looked listless; I'm not an expert but they seemed unhappy and in need of more to do or a better space.

Bridie, Ryder, Rachel & Jacinta (sorry for any spelling mistakes) were our hosts & were all amazing to spend the evening & early morning with. Loved the walks through the zoo seeing all the animals, plus the little extras that I won’t mention (don’t want to spoil it). Loved the little safari tents for our night. The chimpanzees & lions enjoyed waking us up early 😊
Highly recommend anyone to do this, really good value too.
Came here a while back and can I just say, this was one of the most fun times I've had 'til this day. Having my mates obviously helped but just having a walk through the different enclosures with the variety of animals I didn't even know existed, truly cemented that visit into my memories. And the quality of life, accessible toilets, great food and drinks that weren't too far, and easy to read signs and maps to know where you even are.

A beautiful beach. The water is really blue and the sand is fine, so you can happily stand for a while and enjoy the shore. I really loved this place. It's a must visit. Bondi fests are held in July at this place.
There are many cafes and eat stores nearby. There are open stalls where you can purchase anklets, bands, etc as a memory.
It has a garden area, and beach together, where kids can enjoy a lot.
There are showers, taps, to clean up from the sand. It's a very good facility for all.
It's a pet friendly place. There are also benches installed so elders can also have seating arrangements.

Finally made it to Bondi beach! Beautiful blue sea. Got to see the iconic pool. Lovely views. Want to go back for sunset. Lots of cafes, bars and restaurants.
It's a fun beach. Waves are a decent size although the current does seem to gain in strength randomly. There's so much to do around the beach though in terms of exploring, with walking paths on both sides. It's also very easy to get to with the 333 bus.
One of our favorite beaches to visit when in Sydney. Great for swimming, surfing, sunbathing, and hiking on the trails around it. Good food spots and fun atmosphere

Got to be done right? It’s iconic for its surf scene and the Icebergs swimming pool. Plenty of people on the beach and in the water. Was a little surprised that the T4 train didn’t take you closer than Bondi junction so whilst we had anticipated a fair walk I just wonder why the line was never extended. That said it was nice to just sit and people watch.

"The Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk lived up to its legendary status, but sharing it with a friend last weekend made it truly unforgettable!
We were treated to the classic Sydney coastline magic: the turquoise water, the dramatic cliff views we captured in that great panoramic video, and the sheer scale of the ocean, only broken by a lone sailboat cutting across the horizon.
But the real joy was the energy we encountered along the way. Seeing the beach volleyball teams setting up at Bondi. The bustling atmosphere at Tamarama (where we saw the unique temporary art installation! ), and each beach had its own wonderful character.
We even got a dose of inspiration from the amazing Sculpture by the Sea exhibition (like the fantastic metal fish sculpture \ and the captivating rope-wrapped tree ). They were such a wonderful, unexpected surprise along the trail!
This walk is more than just a hike; it's a vibrant, constantly changing gallery of nature and art that reconnects you to the outdoors. A perfect, energizing day trip—and an absolute must-do for anyone seeking beauty and inspiration! We finished the day feeling completely refreshed and already planning our next hike!

It is a must experience, with stunning views and nature all around you, 1000/10 would definitely recommend. We took almost 2h because we stopped loads and were walking slowly, but people usually do it in 45min to an hour.
Had already planned in advance to do this walk from other recommendations before arriving in Sydney but a couple of locals mentioned it too and it featured on a couple of maps that we picked up. We took the T4 train to Bondi Junction and then walked the 30 mins or so to Bondi before setting off south to Coogee. Plenty of beaches and views to admire plus flowers and wildlife. A fair few steps in places but nothing that most people wouldn’t be able to handle. In all it took is just over 90 mins. Well worth it to get away from the bustle of the city.
Really nice walk, great for all levels of fitness...drive to where you want to start your walk or get public transport to your closest point you wish to start and off you go...
Take a picnic with you and stop anywhere along the way and enjoy a romantic picnic in the sun or under the shade of many trees and parks along the way or stop into one of the many cafe's and rest and take in the magnificent scenery, views and breathe in the fresh clean and cool Ocean air..🌴⛱️🌊🌬🌴
Remember to respect the privacy of all the beautiful houses you see along the way, and also to respect the land, nature and wildlife and always take your rubbish with you and use the ma y bins you'll find along the way 😊

The Coogee–Bondi coastal walk is one of those experiences that never gets old, no matter how many times i have done it. The path winds along dramatic cliffs, hidden coves, and sparkling blue water that seems to change shades with every step. It’s an easy-to-moderate walk, but the views make it feel like a breezy stroll
Great walk and would 100% recommend when visiting Sydney as this is a great way to see the coastline and see some really nice sites. Takes an active person no longer the 1 hour 30 minutes with plenty of cafe’s/coffee shops along the way. A must when visiting Sydney.
