What a great place! And free to visit! Generous displays with cosy feel, great atmosphere, very friendly staff and assortment of planes and other vehicles. I appreciate so much how everything was well designed with the flow of walking around, feels like you didn't miss out and walking back and forth. I really enjoyed seeing more information about people behind, their names and stories, not just machinery. Lots of things to listen and interact with, but unfortunately, so many not working! I guess donations are needed. Shame that 4D theatre was not available, too, but we still took opportunity with Typhoon simulator and our 5 year old enjoyed it very much. Twice 😄 Great outdoor playground for kids, restaurant has an exciting food selection (finally some salads!) and reasonably priced for London. All areas are easily accessible with plenty of toilet facilities around. Museum shop has great selection of items/products. Spent a fortune there! Plenty of parking available.

Fantastic museum! Very well laid out across several buildings, all easily accessible. The planes and other displays are presented perfectly, with the chance to walk between the aircraft, so you definitely get a feel for the scale of them. It is great to follow through from 1st world war era planes right through to more modern day items. The information relating to the items on display is really interesting and well presented, which all adds to the experience. Treat yourself to a visit to this museum....you won't regret it (and the on-site cafe is great as well.....perfect chips and friendly helpful staff 👍).

The scale is breathtaking and you can't help but feel the history given that the museum site was an important base during the Battle of Britain. Each hanger has been set out thoughtfully for maximum effect and there are some additional pay to access experiences. My only gripe is that the interactive experiences were either not working and certainly not intuitive but I can't mark down the museum for this as everything else about it was brilliant. Would recommend that you make a day of it as it's the only way to fully experience what is a brilliant museum.

Amazingly cared for, staff was unbelivably kind and informed, food court tasty and widely ranged, and the visit was incredible as a whole. We paid for the cheapest Spitfire experience and the lovely man who told us everything there was to know about the plane honestly made us wish we had paid for the 40 min experience instead of the short one. We were really happy with this opportunity. The toilets are spotless, which is something difficult to say in any place in London, the hangars were interesting and well-divided. Overall, such a great experience if we are ever in London again we will repeat without a doubt.

This amazing site is free to enter, yes free. Plenty to see and get close to the aircraft that have been central to RAF heroics for 105 years. See the stories of the brave hero's that decided that safety of their country was more important than their own life. If you wish, for a small fee, you can get more details on a tour - thank you James you were amazing. Only thing left to say is - just go!

Excellent museum showing the history of RAF from yesteryear till today. Overwhelming amount of flying, and not flying contraptions to behold. Take your time and reserve at least half a day to properly take in everything. Activities for children can be found and also a pleasant cafe. You can also spend your life savings buying souvenirs…

Oh. wow, you could spend literally days here and not see everything. You do need to get tickets prior to coming but to be honest, I didn't know that so I did it on line and it came through almost immediately and so it didn't impinge on me getting in at all. Certainly if your interested and like to read the entries. I am interested and I spent four hours, which was only scratching the surface. I had tea and cake which was excellent and did something I very rarely do, I bought some items from the shop, a Red Arrows cap for my grandson and an RAF tee-shirt, indulging myself. Considering this exhibition is free I can honestly say it is exceptional value for anyone, including families. The parking is fairly expensive by Yorkshire standards, but probably not by London. As you can read I was bowled over by the amount of exhibits which are grouped into buildings which form a historical timeline from the pre-inception days when it was a gentleman's hobby, into the first world war and the meteoric rise in the speed, manoeuvrability and firepower. Then on to the second world war, Spitfire, Hurricane, Lancaster and Halifax, to name but a few of the famous names. Then on through the Jet age into the present day, with the RAF's latest fighter/Bombers and missiles. Awesome, absolutely awesome and I will most definitely be back to finish my tour and maybe just go round again because I will most certainly have missed loads.

The road to the zoo is a bit narrow and winding, and driving with the steering wheel on the opposite side made it even more unusual. This is a truly small family-oriented zoo with an interesting selection of animals. Everything was clean and well maintained, and we enjoyed the visit. I was especially excited to see capybaras and meerkats. Personally, it was also fascinating to observe the visitors — many families with two or more children. The food was decent, but because of the strong wind and too many wasps outside, the experience was mixed. Overall, it’s a great place to spend a day with family.

Visited for my daughter’s birthday and it was great all round. The entire place is very well designed and in good condition. We tried food at a few of the outlets and all were good quality tasting food - not amazing but not the typical greasy nonsense you get. It’s good that you can walk around each area multiple times and in different directions so you really feel like you get the most out of your ticket. Price wise was good, about average and like I said there is plenty to do when inside. All the animals we saw looked happy, no concerns there.

A brilliant zoo, I would say one of the best we have visited. It was busy but we didn't feel it, its nicely spread out so you never feel crowded, it was also very clean and tidy. The staff were fantastic, even when doing something they were happy to answer questions on animals, they were all happy, friendly and genuinely seemed to enjoy being there. The animals all seemed happy and healthy with a lovely variety. As with all zoos it would be nice to see them with more space. The food was of excellent quality and reasonably priced. Nice to have the mix of animals, the dino trail and parks too. It is 3.5hours away from us but worth every minute in the car. Would 100% recommend

Great zoo, loved the red panda experience, keeper was very friendly and informative in answering any questions I had. Loved getting to see the two red pandas being introduced to each other. Got good views of the animals, some of the viewing windows were quite wet with condensation which blocked views but not much to be done about that. Lots of kids so was quite noisy but think I came in the school holidays. Only negative was one of the jaguars was pacing around a lot in its enclosure, hopefully it was just waiting for food or something like that and not stressed. Got Uber easily to/from the train station. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

A really good day out. I went with my sister and my two teenagers and we all thoroughly enjoyed our day. The theming, informative signs, viewing areas/platforms and eateries were very good. Of course the wonderful animals were the highlight and I can recommend attending the bird show! At the end of the day we even had a train ride around the dinosaur area for £2 each, which ended the day nicely.

A family favourite. My son was two when we went and he loved the dinosaurs section even though I was worried he was too young, there are some bits that are slightly gruesomely but you can quickly go past them. It’s good fun and you can then go to the zoo and look at the animals. It’s very well organised and clean. Limited option for food and as with any of these venues, it’s overpriced for the quality you get.

Hertfordshire Zoo is a fantastic family-friendly destination with a great variety of animals and interactive zones. The enclosures are well maintained , highlights include the lions, camels, and alpacas, all easy to view up close. The “World of Animals” and “Tumble Jungle” soft play area add extra fun for kids, with clearly scheduled play sessions. The zoo is clean, well signposted, and offers a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. A perfect day out for families with young children!

Amazing place! Its been many years since I was last there and its nice that more things have been added in that time. Went during the dark arts time and was fun to see the death eather preforming at different locations around the studio. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys Harry Potter! The lay out is brilliant and just getting to see how it was all made is amazing.

Where do I start! Absolutely amazing experience. A must visit for all the potter heads out there. Being a core fan of the book, the movie sets was truly a visual treat. I visited during the Dark Arts theme right after Halloween. The entire tour looked like a carefully planned adventure. The atmosphere felt do lively - kudos to the employees and the guides. A kind employee even took my picture (I was on a solo trip!). I saw the butter beer had mixed reviews. But I personally devoured it. It was refreshing after a long walk. Food was alright, not a fan of the unsalted fries. Some spaces did feel a bit rushed, specially people pushing and hovering around impatiently. Could see the kids engaging a lot with the sets. The photo booths are cute, however felt like a rip-off to have a poster print for £20! Considering the high turnaround rate, they could reduce the price. The broom videos looked a bit tacky but would be a fun try out for kids. Loved the small performance by the Death Eaters who kindly let us take pictures together! Cried myself through the pricey souvenirs, but the butter beer packs were a steal! For folks who can’t find the tickets during the holidays, keep checking every single day twice. I got mine on a random day check, and snagged it right away! They were kind enough to swap me to a different slot (which I found again), without additional charges! Overall worth every penny!

We had arranged a visit to the Warner Bros. Studio for our daughter’s birthday, as she’s crazy about Harry Potter. We were greeted by Menaka at the ticket collection counter. She was incredible!! 😃 Super friendly and charismatic in every way, and a true potterhead too! Our daughter was fully engaged in conversation with Menaka who shared all the wonderful things to look out for whilst on the tour. We gained tips on how to manage our time during the tour, which took 5 hours in total, including a break at the Butterbeer Bar. Menaka also gave our girl a birthday badge and several other goodies, which truly delighted her. We were amazed by the genuine kindness shown to make our daughter feel special 💓 We had arrived over an hour earlier than our scheduled tour time, so Menaka encouraged us to enjoy lunch in the Food Hall. We loved it! All dishes were very tasty and generous in portion, so we were fully prepared for the grand tour 🤩 As a birthday girl, our daughter was given the special privilege to open the door to Hogwarts! 🎉 From then on, the tour was outstanding. Spectacular sets, fun green screen experience and entertaining death eater performances. Beware of the Dementors and Acromantulas in the forbidden forest! 😨 Overall, a superb day out made extra special by all staff members, though Menaka was our favourite!! 🌟

Went on the small group tour. We were meant to skip queues but we didn't skip the queue we just skipped the bit we were going to see. But it was still worth it to get all the amazing little facts that the guide gave us. We went when it was hogwarts in winter. The food here is super expensive! You can take tour own food but i felt like it was part of the experience so just went with it. Remember to get your free passport so you can get your stamps as you go round 👍 The tour was 4hrs with a 1hr break. We went back in so in total spent 6hrs there and definitely could have spent longer. Take your time and make sure you make the most out of the full day.

We visited on a weekend, expecting it to be busy, but boy were we surprised at exactly how busy it was going to be. After a fair bit of queuing and somewhat rude security personnel at the bag check, we finally got through! The whole complex is huge and be prepared for a lot of time walking, standing and walking some more (reminded me of Disneyland) to get anywhere. However, it is really worth it once you can get over this and that is speaking as someone who isn't a huge HP fan. The work on display is amazing and the attention to detail so very impressive. The displays are well thought out, but do make sure you can stomach the high price of food and gifts!

The amazing world created by J.K Roling and later by Warner Brothers studios, before advenced digital effects technologies were widely available - is truly amazing. It is definitely one of the MUST VISIT places when you are in London or around. You will LOVE it.

Well looked after grounds, well tended gardens and beautifully managed Manor House. The facilities are more than adequate and volunteers are helpful and knowledgeable to explain and answer questions. However, we found the lights were very dim in most of the rooms downstairs and it was difficult to see or read the information provided in the pamphlets and walls.

No queues, not a lot of people and one of the most comprehensible and easy to navigate National Trust houses in England. Absolutely fascinating to learn more about English history; Disraeli, wartime mapping, and secrecy. Knowledgeable staff who like what they are doing. We visited on a glorious sunny weekday afternoon. A light lunch to start, nothing really special, served quickly and efficiently. The house is very well presented and the gardens are a delight to walk around and sit and admire while reclining in a deck chair.

Lovely building with a fascinating story. Loved all of the information on the production of the maps during WW2, especially interesting that they are still finding out about people who were there during that time. Cafe has plenty of seating with the usual menu of quality fare. The gardens are gorgeous and extensive.

Amazing House and gardens and with a lot of history, with roots dating back to before the Domesday Book. It became known as the country home of Benjamin Disraeli, Queen Victoria's favorite Prime Minister, who purchased it in 1848. If you're a National Trust member you should definitely visit.

A beautiful place to go. Gardens are well kept with lovely colours, the staff were friendly, and happy to help. House was amazing to look around. Water bowls in the courtyard for dogs and Toilets were clean.

As National Trusts site go this is very small.. Staff are friendly/ helpful and knowledgeable and everything is very well kept. Very hard to spend a whole day here and so therefore feels an expensive day out for non members. As we were

I had a wonderful day at Whipsnade zoo today. Highlights of the day were the brown bear, elephants, rhino’s, giraffes and the birds of the world show. Didn’t see the lynx which was a shame. Didn’t see a lion only a lioness and some cubs. 1 star lost because the tigers enclosure seemed really small and the tiger looked sad pacing around the enclosure. I also felt sad for the chimpanzee who seemed like it was having fun and was very entertaining but again enclosure felt small. Park could also do with more signage to help navigate the way around as although map on the app is good would still be good to have more signage as the grounds are huge and easy to take a wrong path. I also went on the steam train which was £5 for adults but I wouldn’t go on it again. Very big ground with loads of viewpoints and lots of walking however lots of places to sit along the way and plenty of small shops providing snacks and some provide food like hotdogs at £8.50 a pop. I much prefer this zoo to London zoo, I feel like you have better sight of the animals in comparison. One other perk about this zoo is that you can drive around the grounds with an additional fee. There is also free parking with easy access to the zoo. There is also an app with a live moving map which helps you navigate around the park very good.

We had a wonderful day out with the family. It’s a large venue, so comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended. Families with young children may find a buggy useful, as there’s plenty of ground to cover. Visitors can bring their own packed lunch or enjoy the selection of cafés and restaurants available throughout the site and near the entrance.

First time visiting, absolutely loved it, an amazing day. The enclosures were lovely and spacious, all areas lovely and clean, staff we spoke to were so helpful. We had afternoon tea at view point, which was lovely and the staff really friendly. The day was just brilliant, would highly recommend a visit.

Had a fantastic time visiting whipsnade zoo .. travelled all the way from North Wales.. Easy to find and access ♿ parking was just great for my wife. So much to see and do here for the whole family.. Loved seeing how much open area the animals had to enjoy compared with other zoos.. The zoo covers quite an area.. and it can be explored many ways..foot. train..or by car... Yes if mobility is an issue like my wife it can still be easily explored.. We seen a bus going around..sign simply said..Hail bus driver to stop..jump on a train which was around £5 .. Otherwise drive the car around and stop and explore where you want.. plenty of parking on the side of the road... please drive safely!!.. There is part of the zoo where you can only explore by car or taking the train.. Feels like your on safari.. amazing time When we visited they were giving the flamingo's a health check.. you were invited to ask anything you wanted.. Fantastic interactive experience Cafés , toilets and picnic areas are ample and dotted around the park.. Gift shop as like most places near the exit... Would love to visit again in the future as one visit is simply not enough to see and enjoy everything whipsnade has to offer...

Whipsnade Zoo is in a beautiful location of Dunstable Downs, there is a free car park off site and charge for car to enter, blue badges are free, you can drive around the whole park and there is parking spots at each area of the Zoo so you can view the animals at safe distance. It’s a favourite Zoo of mine due to care of the animals and the enclosures are well maintained. If you visit now you may find parts of the Zoo is being improved and some enclosures updated and cleaned, so some of the animals are relocated, the kangaroos are free roaming the zoo and can be approached but best respect nature. The only part of the experience that requires the most improvement is the toilets most are not regularly cleaned or look clean, the restaurants and food vendors do not offer quality food, the sandwiches were not that appetising and the hotdogs were served in baguette, I didn’t understand the combo nor did my palate. Not that they need a fast food chain there but better menu of food and quality would justify the insane prices like £2 for a bag of crisps. Overall I still recommend this as a great family day out but bring your own lunches and snacks.

THE BUS IS BRILLIANT! Whipsnade is an awesome zoo but the bus service elevates the experience even further! Lots of walking and make sure you dress warmly, but if you get tired legs then the bus is perfect. Can't fault it. Such a friendly driver (Gary) and they come round every 20 mins. Thank you so much

This zoo is possibly one of my favorite ones I have been to. The animals have so much space and the possibility to just hide away if that is what they want. We were there on a cloudy temperate day that made the animals more active so we got to see a lot of them. We saw the penguin talk and the bird show, both are very much recommended, but especially the bird show was super well done and very enriching. I have been about 5 times the last ten years and every time has been a great experience.

We've been to Wimpole Hall and Farm many times over recent years but we have not been inside the house for some time. What a treasure it is! Forgot what a beautiful stately home it was inside and out plus also the connection to Rudyard Kipling is notable and not something I recall before. Entry ticket now includes the Home Farm (previously was an additional charge) which we didn't get time to visit but it's well worth it. They have also in recent years improved the car park and make it more accessible for less abled visitors.The grounds are large too so you can easily spend the full day there if needed.

Beautiful grounds, walked for hours. Fantastic walled garden. Cute tiny baby piglets! Cafes for coffees and snacks. Stunning collection of trees, herbs, flowers. Definitely worth a visit.

A lovely day out. Almost spoilt by the staff wanting to kick us out of the manor because it was almost time to lock up. That's for a different day if I visit again and it's the same. The manor is beautiful, with exquisite rooms and a gorgeous library. The grounds are remarkable. The amount of money it would have needed for upkeep alone is mind blowing. The cafe was a little under stocked, but the restaurant just a stones throw away made up for that. Nothing beats ab ice cold drink or ice cream on a British summer day 🙂 I took my family (8yo and wife) along with our friends (13yo, 9yo, and the parents). We enjoyed our 5 hour visit, walking everywhere from the woods, to the farm, and then to the manor. The farm is a working farm with historic buildings which are very imposing. I loved them. It was worth having our National Trust membership. Ample parking, and parking for parents + disability needs. A clean well looked after site which I wouldn't mind visiting again.

The building is quite grand and the interior decoration is beautiful. It takes about half an hour to tour the entire building. If this National Trust attraction only had this building, it would feel rather monotonous. However, since it originally provided a garden and form, you can spend a whole day here, so it is also a place worth visiting as a combination. You will often see families playing in the attraction. In addition, the vast garden also provides children's play facilities. In my opinion, compared with the National Trust attractions I have visited, the facilities here are very rich and sufficient.

I loved every bit of it. We covered everything in 2:30 hours but that was a bit of rush. I could have spend the whole day here. It's the best one I visited by far. I am definitely visiting again with plenty of time in my hand. Play area, Farm animals, house and walled garden - oh my god they all are worth seeing. I was also lucky to have the best weather too on the day however I would visit again regardless of weather anytime soon.

An amazing place to visit. The house is just so well preserved and presented. The grounds and gardens are a true pleasure to walk around. I especially enjoyed pig feeding time.

We really enjoyed are trip to the Wimpole estate, we walked around the extensive grounds and visited the old folly on the hill, really worth a basing and lunch was good at the coffee shop as per other national trust locations.

Really enjoyable visit to this stately home although it was built as a museum to house the possessions of the Rothschild family. Fantastic collection of art works, ceramics, tapestries and furniture and grounds. Entry needs to be pre-booked via their website there is a long walk 20 to 30 minutes from the car park to the house or you can book a shuttle bus for £2.50 return, free if you’re a blue badge holder.

Easy to find with large ticket office and excellent parking capacity inc disabled with a shuttle bus to the house and stables. Property has an interesting history and easy to walk through the various rooms. Large gardens for outdoor walking. Plenty of food and drink available. House has timed tickets available online or at the ticket office on arrival. Staff friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

A good wee place to explore and walk (in the garden), learn about history, architecture and art. Perfect for couples and families as they have a nice cafe(outdoor sitting) and wine shop. Some of the areas were closed when we visited(they were doing some renovation/maintenance work). They have spacious parking. Overall a very good experience.

Lovely day out, and very beautiful architecture. Lots of walking, if you like that sort of thing, which we do! The Manor's history is also fascinating. We enjoyed it here. The gardens are particularly beautiful.

We had a great family day out here, the house is beautiful and full of amazing artifacts, and all manner of priceless treasures. I enjoyed the Solomon's temple exhibit, interesting to see how it may have looked in it's original form. The grounds looked incredible with the autumn colours, and walking around a finding little hidden details was interesting. The outdoor cafe next to the gift shop had lovely, tasty food and drinks available. The gift shop was very pleasant aswell. Every interaction we had with the people working/volunteering there was very positive. Thankyou for a great time.

Beautifully kept manor. Lovely to walk around. Kids can run free and have a look at the birds. Kids also have a nice playground to go in. The whole place is pushchair friendly. There is a steep slope down to the play area and stables bit. The shuttle bus is great if you don’t like too much walking. Car park was spacious. Great day!

I think this was my most enjoyable National Trust visit. One of many Rothschild properties in the area but must be the jewel in the crown. A very good tour round the house King Louis writing desk and so much more it was just amazing. The grounds were also extensive and very beautiful

We visited Bletchley Park today and had an absolutely fantastic day exploring this incredible piece of history. From the moment we arrived, the experience was first class. We were greeted at the entrance barrier by Jake, who gave us a lovely warm welcome — full of good humour and friendly banter — the perfect start to the day. Inside, every member of staff and volunteer we met was just as friendly and engaging. Their enthusiasm for the site and its history really brought the stories of The Codebreakers to life. A particular highlight for me was the Radio Team, who were exceptional. They not only explained the radio technologies and the process behind them in fascinating detail but even offered me a chance to have a go myself! Their knowledge and passion were infectious and added so much to the visit. We took our time exploring the Mansion, the huts, and the surrounding grounds — everything was beautifully presented and full of atmosphere. The attention to historical authenticity and the care taken in preserving the story of Bletchley’s wartime legacy was evident everywhere. The Gift Shop was excellent too, well-stocked with books, souvenirs, and thoughtful keepsakes. I was thrilled to find a book I’d owned as a child (a long time ago now!) — something I never expected to see again. All in all, it was a day filled with learning, nostalgia, and wonderful interactions with passionate people. A truly memorable visit, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Five stars without hesitation.

Excellent museum to visit, very good & humorous tour guide - Robert - entertained and informed us for an hour in the heat of the afternoon - really brought the place to life. I paid the night before & the ticket allows unlimited further visits for 12 months. Loved the sound effects in the outside areas. Great ice cream 🍦 kiosk. A smartly presented and well thought out museum, recommended.

An amazing place and well worth a visit. The guides are all volunteers who give their time and expertise completely free of charge. In my opinion this makes them even more valuable to the whole experience and definitely worth listening to if you can get on one of their guided tours. Your entry ticket will allow you to return as many times as you like with a year of your first visit, completely free of charge, and you’ll need it as there so much to see and learn.

This is an amazing Living Musuem of history. The splendid work both highly intellectual people accomplished, together with every day men and women during WW2 is shown here. Without this secret team WW2 may not have ended when it did and with the British victorious. There is so much so see we needed 3 day visits. When you purchase your ticket you get a year to return and Thank Goodness for that.

After having heard so much about this place we finally made the long journey to visit. There was a barrier at the entrance, reminding one of the fact that this was once a secret military establishment. There is much to see over several buildings. We joined a guided walk which was useful with much information about this history of the site. The main museum is where the story of the code breakers is told and there is much to see and read related to this significant work done during the Second World War. It is significant to see how most of the work was done by women.

Interesting visit to learn more about the WW2 Codebreakers and see the technology they used. Informative and entertaining video presentations. Friendly staff and good interactive displays. Quite expensive at £28 pp (we won't be going back in the next year even though the ticket says you can) and disappointed that the museum of computing was another £10 each next door. The website says the cafes have gluten free options but they didn't have any gf cakes or sandwiches, only a main meal.

An amazing time in our countrys' history, remarkable work carried out by extraordinary people. We learnt a great deal more about the events that occurred there than we previously knew. Definitely worth visiting, as your entry tickets are valid for 12 months multiple visits.

Another good session here. Our 13 year old boys have done the 1 day course reaching level 4 back in April, now they are doing level 5 and 6 in the 2 hour lesson. Super instructors and good facilities. A great way to prepare for a ski trip.

Staff here are so friendly, passionate and supportive! Did snowboarding for the first time the other day with Marian who was so so friendly, patient, amazing and kind. Also had skiing lessons previously with Charlotte who was extremely kind, helpful and patient. I also met Claire - the manager who went above and beyond for me and was also really helpful. Thank you to each of you, you really are special people. Hope we meet again :)

First day of my sons ski course. The parking was easy and aprox 100m from the Snozone desk, all flat and accessible if needed. The staff were efficient in organising his boots, putting him in his team and supporting him over the next hour or so. No complaints from either of us. I only gave 4 stars as the available cafe for me to spend my time waiting could have provided more options for breakfast, like a bacon butties. I did have a nice hot chocolate though.

Visited Snozone for a Snowboarding beginners day course. Had a fantastic time. Jago was super friendly and helpful in teaching technique and providing advice. Lunch was included in the price and we were offered a choice of pizzas, jacket potatoes and a few other options. Course lasted around 7.5hrs from 1015 to 1745. Group size was five, which worked well and Jago did a great job of supporting individuals with varying degrees of experience. Great fun, had a few hard falls, but perseverance is key! I will be back.

I’ve visited Snozone several times over the past six months. I started with a 1-1 session, followed by a Level 2/3, then a Level 3/4 session, and was due to have my Level 4/5 lesson next week. By the end of my Level 3/4 session, my instructor had ticked off all sections of Level 4 except the final box, mentioning that “with 10 more minutes, you’d have completed the level.” That would have allowed me to progress straight to Level 5/6. However, this week I received an email stating that Snozone no longer offers combined-level sessions and that my upcoming lesson would only cover Level 4. I called to explain my situation and asked whether I could move directly into Level 5, given my progress in the previous session. Unfortunately, I was offered very few options—almost none—and it felt as though the issue was being treated as my responsibility. I even suggested arriving early to complete Level 4 before moving on to Level 5 on the same day, as I was simply trying to continue the training I had already paid for. The staff member I spoke with wasn’t very helpful, and I eventually had to ask for a refund myself, which I would have expected them to suggest.. I later called back to ask about booking a full 7-hour Level 4/5/6 day instead. Thankfully, the second staff member I spoke to was much more professional and understanding. Although the available dates didn’t work for me, she processed my refund promptly. I’m really disappointed, as I had thoroughly enjoyed every session up to this point and was genuinely looking forward to continuing.

Amazing beginners snowboard course last Friday. Tony (and Dave) did an amazing job of making us feel comfortable and helping us to progress throughout the day. From never standing on a board to completing some relatively good turns in a few hours. The facility is great, easy to get to, cheap to park at, everything you need under one roof. The best bit was the instructors. Tony really put 100% into the job and was awesome. Had loads of fun and learnt so much. He was helped by Dave who was great too. It's a hard day, and physically demanding but so worth it

Bicester Village is a fantastic destination for luxury and premium brand shopping. The place offers a wide selection of high-end and well-known brands, all set in a beautiful and clean environment. Both the exterior and interior designs of each store are meticulously crafted, adding to the overall pleasant shopping experience. The only downside during my visit was the lack of particularly attractive discounts, which was a bit disappointing. Nonetheless, overall, it was a great place to shop and explore.

Bicester Village is a nice designer outlet that features most of the well-known luxury brands. However, I couldn’t find many good deals, most prices were almost the same as regular market prices, and many of the items seemed to be older collections that didn’t sell well. The design of the village is beautiful, though. It’s very clean and pleasant to walk around, with charming little streets and lovely store façades. The place isn’t very large, so you can explore it in a few hours. There are only a couple of restaurants, so dining options are limited, but the big parking area is definitely convenient. Overall, it’s a peaceful and stylish place to visit for a short walk and some window shopping, but not necessarily the best destination if you’re looking for real outlet bargains

Absolutely loved it, definitely worth a visit especially if you’re into shopping. Might not be as fun if you’re not into shopping. Lots of designer and high end brands at discounts prices, *discounted* not cheap. All the shops look really nice especially during the Christmas period. Nice and easy to walk around, shops are all next door to one another kind of like on a parade.

This is a polished and enjoyable shopping destination, especially if you’re looking for luxury brands at reduced prices. The village-style layout makes it feel more relaxed than a typical outlet mall, and the pathways are clean, well-kept, and easy to navigate. The selection of designer stores is strong, and the customer service is generally excellent. It can get extremely busy—especially on weekends and holidays—which sometimes means queues both for parking and for popular boutiques. Still, if you time your visit well, it’s a great place to find quality pieces at good value while enjoying a pleasant, upscale atmosphere.

I recently visited Bicester Village and had a fantastic shopping experience. It's a premier luxury outlet shopping destination with a wide range of designer brands offering excellent discounts. The village is beautifully laid out and perfect for a day trip. I recommend buying your shopping ticket in advance online for a smooth entry and special services. Also, if you travel by train, note that Bicester Village station not supports contactless travel cards, but importantly there is currently no tap-in or tap-out system for contactless payments on the train journey. This means it’s best to buy a ticket in advance or check carefully to avoid any issues. The combination of great shopping, easy access, and the convenience of modern payment options makes Bicester Village a must-visit. Don’t forget to book your tickets ahead and enjoy a seamless, luxurious shopping day out!

Visited recently for a shopping day out and had a very enjoyable time overall. Bicester Village offers lots of high-end brand outlets, making it a premium destination for luxury and designer shopping. You’ll find major names like Gucci, Prada, Burberry, and many more — definitely a paradise for fashion lovers! The atmosphere is great — beautifully designed, open-air, and feels classy yet welcoming. We were so busy shopping that we completely forgot to take any photos! One thing that really stood out was how well the parking situation was managed. As we were about to reach the Village, we noticed clear signage informing us that the main parking was full and directing us to an alternate parking location. There was also a free Park & Ride bus service available, which was super convenient and very well organized. The only downside was the long queues outside some of the popular stores, which took up quite a bit of time. It would be great if they could introduce an appointment or token system to help manage the crowd and make the experience smoother. Overall, a fantastic shopping destination with a wide range of luxury brands, good facilities, and a pleasant vibe — just be ready for some waiting during busy times. We’ll definitely be visiting again!

Very busy but really nice shops. We can find a lot of deals most of the time. Really enjoyed going there. Finding parking is always a challenge but with persistence we can find a spot. Good few spot to eat. Highly recommended for designer shopping

I've been to plenty of breweries and their tours before. And they tend to get very samey. But not Hook Norton, while yes it covered the main talking points, this is an incredibly unique and interesting Brewery from an engineering and structural standpoint. Also never been to a brewery with so many drinks at the end (5 cask, 4 keg). Peter our guide was phenomenal and made the tour engaging and interesting.

What a lovely day out! Our tour guide Monty was very knowledgeable and welcoming. History, beer and food - brilliant experience across all fronts and came away feeling very enriched. The cafe’s version of a Ploughman’s was top notch and the beer went down a treat. Will be recommending to friends and family!

Great spot. Two of us had a couple of pints and sandwich and side of chips. Good simple pub menu. Gluten free menu. Friendly. Glorious to sit in sun having a beer, outside tables had parasols. Not easy to get to, we cycled from Kings Sutton, but worth it. The shop has the full range of beers and some nice gifts.

Very clean and tidy. Staff with very, very attentive. They checked that everything was ok three times! Food was fresh and good sized portions. Peri-peri sauce with the chicken has a good kick to it.

It's really interesting, only tall victorian brewery still working in England. Still family run. Great number of beers and ciders to try. We didn't manage the tour as fully booked but had a stroll around the museum. Saw thd beautiful shire horses that are still used.

Great cafe and bar with well stocked shop. I recently returned to do the brewery tour. It was a very informative tour for the history of the Hook Norton Brewery and how it grew from 1849 and was then extended to the Victorian 3 stage gravity fed brewery of 1899. The tour is 90 minutes long and involves going up and down over 100 steps. It really has a fascinating history which was state of the art when it was built and largley unchanged except a few modern additions added in the 20th & 21st century for effeciency and electrification. Well worth the money and with a great host too called Sally who knew her history. After the tour you get sample the beers and discuss tasting notes. It would be great to do a more indepth day when they are brewing with the brewers to see it all in action and to have a lesson on brewing and the science behind it.

Very friendly and lovely looking hotel .it would have been 5 star if our room was had a double bed rather than 2 singles pushed together. Quite dark in the room but not a problem as it fitted with the theme really. We were ground floor and the hall smelled a little damp. Reception and restaurant staff were very friendly . The area was pretty too. Nice walks and the bonus is the guy who offers very affordable punting . Very knowledgeable and kind. We done the medieval banquet and enjoyed ourselves. Can recommend visiting the hotel and the experience .

Such a beautiful park with woodlands, ponds with ducks and a centre with cafe, toilets, shops etc! We really enjoyed our time walking in the woods area with massive gorgeous trees around us! The ducks and doves and swans were enjoying the duck food we bought from the info centre for just £1/bag, although we saw some people giving their children sandwiches and bread to chuck at the ducks which was sad to see. A stunning place!! Definitely worth the visit!!

Coombe Abbey Country Park is a beautiful and peaceful place to explore. The gardens, lake, and woodland walks are perfect for relaxing or enjoying nature. The historic abbey building adds extra charm to the stunning landscape. A lovely spot for a family day out, picnic, or quiet stroll — truly one of Warwickshire’s gems!

It was a pleasant visit, where we arrived by chance. The park itself is very beautiful, where you can charge your soul, and if you are going to stay at the hotel you will be spoiled. The lake is full of life, different birds, and even a gondola ride. I liked it and recommend that you set aside a whole day to visit this area.

Beautiful woodlands, nature at its best! The trees were absolutely fascinating and added to the charm. Great for peaceful strolls, picnics and relaxing in the fresh air. The car park was easy to find and reasonably priced. A perfect spot for nature lovers.

My wife and I recently spent an afternoon at Coombe Abbey Country Park, and it turned out to be one of those places that leaves a lasting impression. What struck us most was the variety within the grounds – one moment you’re walking beneath tall trees in the woodland, the next you’re stepping out into wide, open fields with sweeping views across the countryside. The contrast makes every part of the walk feel fresh and engaging. The woodland paths are beautifully looked after, offering a calm, shaded route that feels almost timeless. Once we reached the edges of the park, we were rewarded with what looked like golden wheat fields, stretching out into the horizon. It’s a stunning sight and gave us that wonderful sense of space you don’t often get so close to the city. Around the lake and ponds, there’s plenty of activity with swans and ducks to feed, and we particularly enjoyed stopping at the bird hide – a quiet spot that gave us time to slow down and watch the wildlife. For those after something livelier, the Go Ape course adds a bit of excitement, but it blends in neatly with the surroundings rather than dominating them. The practical side of things is well thought out too. There are toilets on site, which makes longer visits easy and stress-free. The ice cream shop deserves a special mention – after a long walk, treating ourselves to a cone felt like the perfect finishing touch. Parking was also simple and reasonably priced, with plenty of availability. All in all, Coombe Abbey Country Park offers a mix of tranquility, natural beauty, and good facilities. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a simple walk yet come away feeling as though you’ve had a proper day out. For us, it was a wonderful way to spend time together, and it’s somewhere we’ll happily return to.

Lots of space and plenty to do. Improved play area for children. Beautiful grounds. Pay extra for Go Ape, car Safari (very expensive) and forest play area (£3.90) which was empty at half term. Still plenty to do.

Came here to watch Pink Floyd Dark side of the Moon in the planetarium. The show was one of the best I've ever seen. Amazing atmosphere in the planetarium. The visuals and sounds were perfect. We also had a good look around the space centre itself. Properly cool place with absolutely loads for kids and adults to do and see. Very educational and we will be bringing our kids to have a look. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and will definitely do it again

The NSC is an amazingly well curated museum with interactive elements and immersive shows in the Patrick Moore Planetarium inside, shows last 25mins. They even have a real rocket! and you can take a lift to see it from above. It's well suited to kids and adults (we never grow up really) and you can touch space objects and interact with some scientific tools and even play some games to test your astronaut potential! I spent 2ish hours there and there's still more that I didn't get a chance to experience. Tickets were £20 & that gets you an annual pass. The cafe they have is great too, they do hot food and good coffee and even an awesome giftshop! You gotta go :]

The National Space Centre is a fascinating place for both children and adults. It’s especially engaging for Generation Y and millennials, showcasing the Cold War era, the development of technology, and the first steps in space exploration in an immersive way. You can step inside a Mercury capsule, see how astronauts eat and live, and even sit in a period-style room to feel the thrill of watching a rocket launch to the Moon on a vintage glass screen. The planetarium, presented as an animated journey, is truly impressive – even for adults. It’s a wonderful centre for both learning and fun, and the best part is that with just one ticket you can return all year round. Highly recommended! 🚀✨

Where do I start. The place was amazing. The staff and the exhibits were exceptional. So much great information to digest and lots of things for little ones and bigger little ones to do. There were a lot of people in, but it never felt packed. The cinema show was brilliant and way more immersing than we thought it would be. The gift shop had a great collection of toys as well as interesting gifts specific to the Space center. A great day out and it would've recieved 5 stars if it wasn't for the poor cafe that was let down by a lack of choice and the cleaning of the eating/utensil areas which was really poor. The staff serving were great super friendly on all departments but the eating areas were disappointing. Still won't stop another visit to this wondrous place.

Located north of Leicester city centre, the National Space Centre is an amazing day out for kids and adults of all ages. Filled with interactive and educational activities, award winning shows on immersive 360 degree screen, and lots more to see and do. Super helpful and attentive staff, great gift shop, lots of space to sit. Buy ticket online for free annual pass upgrade without hassle. Kids could spend the whole day in here to learn and play. Bring your own lunch to avoid weekend and peak time queues.

This visit has been a long time coming, after trudging the M1 for three decades and seeing the brown sign for the National Space Centre I finally found time to visit, and it was no disappointment in the slightest. Many facts and exhibits tie into loads of classic films, articles and milestones from over the years and lots for the kids to learn about along the way. A great day out and at the moment (summer 2025) the artists elephants are all around Leicester. The planetarium is incredible! Please go and enjoy one of the midlands great attractions that you might have missed.

I been there for first time, lovely place with many different views. I can see there is a plenty space for car parking. Amazing location with foods, and gifts. I was so happy and excited to be there and to be part of this. I will share few videos and photos from this amazing place. Highly recommend.

Brilliant family day out, something for everyone here. Enough rides to suit all ages and queues were fairly short. Indoor areas are great with plenty to keep children entertained, perhaps aimed at more younger children but the dark themed slides and play area is great for all along with the rapids ride. Classics like the pirate ship and log flume for all the family to enjoy. Easy to navigate around the park. Free parking available and gift shop at the end. Purchased a family photo which can be taken upon entrance. Highly recommend for families. Great value with family pass which we purchased via offer code at half price. Bargain! 🌟

We are theme park connoisseurs and this park definitely is one of our top five parks in the uk. As we have kids under ten, this park has things to cater perfectly to them. It's a perfect size to be able to cram every ride in. The queues are small and the atmosphere is very nice. There's a large, soft play and separate aerial ropes. And drop slides. There's a farm on top to. Great visiting during halloween, as there is a pick your own.

Great park but definitely more suitable for small children. Our 9 year old wasn’t as enthused and entertained as our 6 year old. Quite a long queue for some of the rides which meant the kids were getting fizzy. Water wasn’t working either whilst we were there so had to use hand gel - provided by the park - this wasn’t the parks fault though. Good choice of food at decent prices and the place itself was kept nice and clean.

Every member of staff were a delight (apart from the woman in the paying booth.... They were kind and considerate and very child friendly! The rides were great as our two are ten and haven't really been on anything like that much. Excitement overload. The indoor slides and lazy river were a godsend as it was bitterly cold. There were some animals in the barn, and we enjoyed feeding them (50p for feed from a self-issue machine). Especially as the llama and goat were trying to eat the feed out of the machine! And the Shetland pony kicking the door to get more food. There were rabbits and meerkats too. The kids enjoyed picking a pumpkin too which was free with the ticket. Who knew choosing a pumpkin would bring so much delight. Thanks Twinlakes it was a blast!

A great day out for kids with plenty of space to burn off energy, from rides to play zones. However, some queues are long, and one day may not be enough to do everything. Staffs were efficient but not very smiley. Still, a fun-packed visit for active families!

It's a good value for money with ONE big but, as long as your child is over 90cm. Otherwise there's virtually no rides they can be allowed on. They would not let you hold them on your lap and go down the water slides in the splash zone either. Animal wise it's quite poor in terms of variety. Nice picnic areas. Decent cafe and indoor playground. Car park is decent size but on the rainy day it's a bit of disaster especially if you have to go through it with a buggy.

Went for the firework display this evening and it didn’t disappoint, far enough away for my little girl not to be scared by them!!! Incredible display and it was nice that everything else was open later to accommodate for the fire work display!!

Bradgate Park is truly a gem, an incredible place to unwind, take a long walk, and just breathe. It's the kind of spot where nature does all the talking. The landscape is vast and beautiful, with open spaces, ancient trees, and a peaceful atmosphere that helps you disconnect from everyday life. It used to be quieter, and while it's more popular now and can get busy, there are still those rare, quieter days when you can enjoy the serenity and really take it all in. If you're lucky enough to visit on one of those days, the peacefulness is something special. Perfect for a picnic, a long stroll, or even just some time to sit and think. Just a tip bring everything you might need, because you might find yourself staying longer than planned. It’s that kind of place.

Bradgate Park itself is beautiful – really enjoyed walking around and especially loved seeing the deer roaming freely, which made the visit feel quite special. The scenery is lovely and it’s a great place to spend time outdoors. That said, the parking felt quite extortionate, which does take away from the experience a bit, and the men’s toilets could definitely be improved in terms of cleanliness. Overall, worth visiting for the park and wildlife, but a couple of practical things could be better managed.

The park is beautiful. What I didn't like was the amount of dogs off leads near the deers. This included a pit bull. Owners need to be wary at all times as deer are loose everywhere. Great for photographers. I parked in the south woods carpark as it is £2 all day.

A beautiful park and a great place for hiking, walking, and simply relaxing. It’s always thrilling to see wildlife up close here. Toilet facilities and cafés are available both at the entrance and in the middle of the park, which makes it very convenient. You can easily spend the whole day enjoying a picnic and connecting with nature and wildlife. There’s plenty of parking available — £5 on weekdays and £6 on weekends for the full day. It’s also good to see that bins are placed throughout the park, helping to keep it clean.

What and incredible place! Visit the ruins and the gardens. Take a walk alongside the stream. Or hike up the rocky hills to take in the panoramic views and pay your respects at the war memorial. Deer and Peacocks wonder freely around the grounds. This really is a stunning part of the midlands. When you need to rest your legs you can pop into the cafe to refresh, grab a bite to eat and take bathroom break. There's something for everyone to enjoy regardless of your physical abilities. I came via public transport from Nottingham. The number 9 Kinchbus took me from West Bridgford (Notts) to Loughborough (Auberry Gap stop), and then I got the 154 Centrebus from the Auberry Gap stop to the reservoir at the Bradgate Park. The stop which takes to back to Loughborough is also right next to the reservoir wall. I believe the last bus back to Loughborough is at around 18:30, and then there are multiple late buses back to Nottingham from there

Fantastic parkland with a large expanse of green space, some striking landmarks and remarkable prehistoric rock formations. Bradgate Park dates back around 800 years, when it began life as a deer park, a role it still fulfills today with a large herd of Fallow and Red deer. It's also home to the impressive ruins of Bradgate House, one of England's oldest brick built houses, and amazing ancient oak trees, many of which date back over 500 years. The park is maintained to a very high standard and has a number of entrances, each with their own parking area (charged daily at a reasonable rate) and public toilet facilities. Tearooms are located near the reservoir and the Newtown Linford entrance. The path is crossed by a network of well maintained and clearly signposted paths, ideal for dog walks and popular with families. The Newtown Linford entrance is best for short, easy walks past the stream to the house, while the Hunts Hill entrance in the upper part of the park is best for more challenging walks to Old John Tower and the Leicestershire Yeomanry War Memorial. These high points offer expansive views over the surrounding countryside and the Leicester skyline, with rugged rocks in the foreground. We stopped here on the way to the Peak District thinking the park would be a more interesting way to break the journey than a motorway service station, and were very happy to have done so. A real suprise that exceeded all expectations.

my wife and i went on sunday 2nd may, The place was heaving, not much social distancing going on. The Website says "...We have restricted admission tickets per day with the priority being to ensure social distancing is adhered to. Our visitor capacity will be reviewed regularly.".. This is rubbish as the car park was so full we had to park on grass right near the very end, it took us ages to walk to the entrance. we saw 2 Giraffes, 1 Rhino, a few chimps , 2 Tigers, some Lemurs and Penguins, not much else as there were queues / crowds for anything that was open, including the shop. in my opinion vastly overpriced entrance fee for what is available. won't be going again.

Rip off car park charges.

Nottingham Castle played an important role in Britain's history. Apart from being famous for being home to the Sheriff of Nottingham, the castle was a strategic stronghold during England's civil war in the 1600's. Today the castle is museum that houses exhibits of Nottingham's lace manufacturing, studies surrounding the "Major Oak" in Sherwood Forest, and many other interesting displays. Outside the walls is a statue of Robin Hood that is a must see for visitors. Beneath the city is a network of caves that are also present at the castle. Booking a tour of the castle caves provides visitors with much more information about the history and importance Nottingham Castle has played in Britain's history.

Cool castle ramparts encasing a grand mansion steeped in history. Highly recommend booking a cave tour to explore the tunnels within the castle rock. The guides are hugely knowledgeable and give you a fun, educational, story-filled experience.

Nottingham Castle looks impressive and full of history, even from the outside. The grand architecture and its position overlooking the city make it a striking landmark. The grounds and surrounding area are beautifully kept and offer great photo opportunities. A must-see spot that captures the heritage and charm of Nottingham!

The castle is nice but was expecting more of a castle then an art museum. There are few interesting exhibits. The castle looks nice from the outside, the grounds are nicely maintaned offering nice views over Nottingham. The price is a little high for the experience. The Robin Hood experience is nice but is more of a playground for kids with interactive stuff, for adults kind of boring. The cave tour was nice but to pay extra for that, above the entrance price can be pricey for some folks compared to the experiance. The staff is nice and hepful. You buy tickets at the entrance or online waiting in the queue is the same to enter. Next to the castle you'll find a mini square with the statue of Robin Hood. The Forest exhibition is let's say ok but doesn't really impress, a natural woodland walk might be better. One visit is enough honestly, doesn't make any sense to visit the castle again especially if you travel from a bigger distance. The location of the castle is very good, in the city center, car park buildings close by. The souvenir shop and restaurant is nice.

The staff were all very helpful and friendly entry price is reasonable but..... I was expecting more castle. I am aware that the castle is self was destroyed many many years ago. I enjoy looking at castles in their various states and wonder what they would have been like. The exhibitions were informative and interactive.

Personally, we thought £15 entry for adults (£30 for us both) was expensive for a one-off visit if you wanted a tour of the caves that was an extra £8 per adult (we did not go on that). Yes, the entry ticket lasts a year and you can go as many times as you want which is good if you live close by, It's nice that children are free to enter, nice grounds with views over Nottingham, it's not really a Castle more like a mansion building which houses an art gallery / museum in the main building, the Robin Hood experience is more for kids with lots of interactive things to do, we enjoyed the Rebellion part of the exhibition and all about the history of Nottinghams troubled past, Wasn't really impressed with the echos of the Forest exhibition lots of tree photos and a video of some ladies dressed on cloaks hiding in trees, it may be I would prefer to walk in a natural woodland or forest and listen to the natural sound of nature, personally we would not return as we have seen it

We had an amazing day out at the arboretum. We had a mixed family group from 89year olds to 3 year olds and a dog. We had a fantastic day there, they strike the atmosphere perfectly with somber areas and moments but encourages the young people to learn and be fun and look at the wildlife around the arboretum. The dog was able to walk round all bar two places which were perfectly reasonable and there were bins and toilets everywhere needed. . The staff were nice, accessibility ♿ was at the forefront of the staffs mind with buggys to the top, toilets and ramps everywhere.

Beautiful and peaceful place to visit. Time for reflection and to honour those that gave their lives for us. Dog friendly and lots of paths around so that you can go at your own pace and visit the memorials that you want to see. There are over 400 memorials, set in landscaped woodland and gardens. Cafe and coffee shop at the visitor centre with lots of seating inside and outside. Staff were very friendly and helpful also there to help

A really beautiful and peaceful place. Many of the monuments are stunning, and really honour the memory of those people they represent. We paid a small amount extra for the land train tour. This allowed us to cover most of the site, albeit in not a huge amount of detail. The commentary onboard was very interesting and informative. I had no idea the main feature of the armed forces memorial has a solar feature built in which allows a shaft of light to illuminate a central plinth at 11am on November 11th each year. Would recommend it to anyone to visit and pay respects to those who fought for freedom. Money raised by car parking and tours goes to the British legion.

As an American visiting the UK, I had the privilege of spending a day at the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas, and I can honestly say it was one of the most moving and meaningful experiences of my trip. The grounds are absolutely stunning—beautifully landscaped, peaceful, and incredibly well-maintained. Every memorial tells a story, and the sheer scope of remembrance here is both humbling and inspiring. It honors not only members of the British Armed Forces, but also civilian services and international partners, which gave it a universal sense of respect and unity. What struck me most was the quiet dignity of the place. It's not just a collection of memorials; it's a living, breathing space where people come to reflect, honor, and remember. The staff and volunteers were welcoming and knowledgeable, and the visitor center provided helpful context for those unfamiliar with UK military history. The chapel service was simple yet powerful, and the entire visit left a lasting impression. Whether you have a personal connection to the armed services or simply wish to understand more about sacrifice and service, this is a place everyone should experience. A truly unforgettable visit. I’m grateful for the opportunity to pay my respects.

What a beautiful place. Its so peaceful. The staff were very helpful when we tried to find certain monuments we specifically wanted to see. There were plenty of benches to sit on too scattered all about.

Lovely, clean, friendly and fully accessible grounds. Very touching and informative place to visit. Lovely cafeteria. Children's playground. We attended armed forces day and were provided with a day long entertainment provided by members of the armed forces. Scooter and wheelchair hire available, plenty of disabled parking which may be pre booked.

Decided on Bank Holiday to visit this place, as had a free day and wanted to learn more about British History. This place is incredible. So much to discover about Armed Forces. So much history and theres insane amount of memorials and statues. Absolutely fascinating. Parking was not a problem even on a busy day. Organised. Entry is free - you pay £8 for parking all day though. Which is fair enough in my opinion as you will spend at least 3 hours minimum. Thats if you just walk and rush pass everything. Full day if you want to see and read. Theres lots of trails to walk, and you are constantly around the trees, ponds etc. Really lovely place. You also have museum inside. Cafe. Shop. Toilets. All the things you need. So, if you want to get them steps in, learn about armed forces history, be surrounded by beautiful nature-this place is for you!

Visiting Wollaton Park was a dream come true for me as a Batman fan. The moment I found out this was the filming location for Wayne Manor in The Dark Knight Rises, I knew I had to see it—and standing there in front of Wollaton Hall honestly left me in awe. The building is absolutely stunning, with its towering windows and intricate stonework. For a moment, it really felt like I was stepping into Bruce Wayne’s world. The park itself is just as beautiful as the Hall. Wide green spaces, autumn leaves scattered across the grass, and peaceful paths made it feel both grand and calm at the same time. I could’ve stayed there for hours just walking around and taking it all in. The staff were also really friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. You can tell they care about the place and its history, and they were happy to chat and answer questions. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. As a Batman nerd, it felt like a pilgrimage to Wayne Manor. But even if you’re not into Batman, Wollaton Park is still an incredible spot to explore—beautiful, relaxing, and full of character.

Great place to visit. The car park is £5, I paid for this in the shop, giving them my number plate. The park is very extensive but it was fantastic to see the deer so close. The house is fascinating with all the natural history displays. This was £15 but the ticket lasts a year. The gardens were also very nice and the view down to the lake was beautiful. The cafe was ok, not the largest selection of food and the drinks were all served in cardboard drinking cups. All the staff everywhere were very friendly and helpful. The shop was nice to look around and standard prices. The toilet facilities were good and clean. There were some near the cafe and in the house. I definitely recommend a visit. On a warm summers day it would be a lovely place to bring a picnic and make a day of it.

Visited the walled gardens specifically. A wonderful, relaxing and fascinating project to restore the site. Lovely volunteers working at the site and amazing progression being made. Only open set times during the summer for tours. A warm welcome. This is a very special place.

The park is about 500 acres. Many children at the playground, families on picnic rugs, deer wandering through acreage. Camellia House & Wollaton Hall are so different. Enjoyed every moment.

Not the best of days from a weather point of view but certainly from the number of people there. We will definitely be coming back and hopefully on the next visit go around the house. The cafe coffee and smoked bacon baguette was superb imo.

The grounds and lake, as well as the cafe and deli along with the wandering deer are worth the visit for the £5 (£6 at weekends) parking fee. But Wollaton Hall itself is no more than a taxidermist’s museum labouring under the ‘nature conservation’ banner. And at £15 each, not worth it - not our thing, but may be yours. I forgot, the connection to the 2012 Batman Movie, ‘Dark Knight Rising’ where this was Bruce Wayne’s Manor, but this was only mentioned once on an obscure info board.

Went to visit as it was recommended to me. Good size carpark for cars and coaches. I found it very interesting as I took the tour around the house first then went inside exploring all levels of the house. There's plenty to see and I spent 4 hours exploring the site.

Visited this week with my twin's, what a history lesson rolled all into one. Very sad 😔 mixture of emotions as walking around. School's should definitely visit here to educate the kids and how hard England was back then. My twin's understood just how lucky they are. Definitely will come back.

This is one of the first workhouses. It's fairly smaĺl, but has everything you would expect. There is a small cafe here with the normal NT fayre in it, but I think in mid summer it may become crowded. Great place to bring children, to learn about the realities of 1800 Britain. I reccommend the external 30 min tour which you can book at the visitor centre when you get inside.

This is certainly a unique property owned by the National Trust. It gives the visitor insight to the living conditions of the residents of a workhouse that has stood here since 1824. Rooms are set up to recreate the life of the residents with separate wings for men, women and children. Everything is explained on placards and there are volunteers to answer questions. The tour is self guided. This place was very busy for late September, and there were no less than three school groups touring the workhouse on the day we visited. Lots of activity. There is a former hospital/nursing home on the grounds as well that is open for touring. The building holds a cafe and there are toilets should you need them.

Really well presented and so interesting to see the history of what was originally a test site evolving from the poor law. So glad the National trust saved it from the developers. Thanks to the amazing volunteers as ever 👏

This is a really special place that has lots of great stories attached to it. We managed to be there at a time where we could go on a guided tour where we found out lots of facts, stories and were able to ask any questions. The philosophy of the workhouse is explained well and really makes you think about not only the conditions of life there, but the alternatives that were/weren't available. The infirmary is a 'mark in time' and it feels like it has just been left 'as is', only without the medical professionions and service users there. It still smells like a hospital and this only adds to the fascination when looking around. I believe opening hours are limited so please check the website. Sundown Adventureland is a theme park created especially for younger children, offering a few of colourful rides, themed zones, and imaginative play areas. From tractors and pirate ships to indoor play barns and storybook villages, it’s designed to spark creativity and keep little adventurers entertained in a safe, family-friendly setting. The park is most enjoyable for children up to around 10 or 11 years old. Older ones, particularly around 12, may find the rides a little tame compared to larger theme parks, but many still enjoy the atmosphere, theming, and chance to join in with younger siblings. Overall, it remains a super good family day out.

We went to Sundown Adventureland yesterday and honestly, it’s just wonderful. The attention to detail is incredible — everything feels so intentional and full of imagination. You notice something different every time you visit, and there’s something special for every season. It’s such a magical place for the kids, but it brings out the child in you too! It's so much more than just another attraction, you can really feel the love and care that’s gone into every part of it over decades.

What a wonderful place to take young children! Everything is designed perfectly for your little ones, with interactive displays all around the park, lovely rides and soft plays. It was a shame to have one of the attractions closed because it's not the biggest place already but I'm sure it will reopen soon. I must also mention the fairytale village which was one of my favourite parts! Little houses from lots of fairytale stories that the children could explore and press buttons inside. Sundown was spotlessly clean and well kept and the effort that has gone into designing the park has got to be commended. My children loved it! Lots of space to spread out and play freely... opportunities to meet the characters. We never queued for a thing!!!! Went on the rides as many times as we wanted and practically had the whole park to ourselves! We also stayed onsite at Wild Acres which was really cute. My only criticism is that the bed wasn't very comfortable and it didn't have a proper sofa to relax on when the kiddies were in bed. The hot tub was beautiful and the decoration of the lodge was so magical. We booked our stay for Monday to Friday but that was definitely too long. You'd only need two nights 😊

Absolutely loved our stay here, especially the children there was loads to do there, massive sandpit, loads of different play equipment, the cabins are lovely to stay in, has a small little shop where you can grab essentials, and an adsa 15minutes down the road, only thing I would have to say on the cabins is that the sofas are not comfortable at all, especially if you suffer with bad backs , the beds however are just amazing so comfortable, the fridges needed have a good clean and freezer defrosted, we had a hot tub which was amazing, all the cooking equipment you need is there. The food from the restaurant was delicious

I took a gamble and drove 3 hours to visit Sundown. This adventure was for my sons 5th birthday. I am so pleased we went ! I can not stop raving about it to my family. There are two massive inside soft plays. My children 4 and 5 absolutely loved them. There are walk ways in and around, so u can easily keep your eye on the children. We went in the 6 weeks holiday and it wasn't rammed. There are lots of seating areas and a large variety of drinks and food to enjoy whilst the children burn off there energy. The little rides were brilliant fun and exciting for the children. My son absolutely loved the barrel ride, and the tractor ride, and with no long ques he went on it over and over again! The entire place was well looked after. Clean and tidy! Staff were welcoming and you could see they enjoy there jobs. Entry fees include all rides, so there is no additional costs. You only need to pay extra for food. However, there's lots of inside and outside seating so picnics are welcome too. The miniture villages were magical. The children spent ages exploring inside all the houses. We arrived at opening 10am and left at closing 5.30pm. There was so much to see I advise two days. I can't wait to visit again. My son was jumping around all day telling me "this is the best day ever". And it sure was, for all of us. Please visit this place. You don't know what your missing. It really is a hidden gem.

It was our first visit and we hadn't realised how big the site was. We recently had English Heritage membership, so had free entry. There was ample free parking and the ruins of the old house and impressive newer house. Lots of interesting history and rooms you can access, such as Bess' bed chamber. Lots of tapestries, including one made by Queen Mary. Nice shop and cafe and beautiful gardens. Plenty to see and do.

A really amazing place to visit. We only expected to be a couple of hours at most, but there was so much to see. The visit also includes the adjacent old hall ruins. The house is stunning, and the interiors are decorated with the most amazing embroidery which hangs from almost every wall and room. The volunteers are very friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about the property. We took our dog and he was welcome in an area of the restaurant, which was nice as it was cold and raining. We would have liked to walk more of the grounds and gardens, but the weather put us off. They do look stunning and I'm sure on a better day would have been very enjoyable.

Fantastic to look around. Amazing house and gardens, easily able to spend a full day there and more. I could just look at the tapestries for days! Well worth a visit if you're into history or just beautiful places.

We haven't been here for quite a few years and we're pleasantly surprised, there is a lot more to see and do. The guides were interesting and knowledgeable but not overpowering like at some properties. A very pleasant day out 😁

Expect an expansive estate as the drive from the entrance to the parking lot must be a mile long. This property features two historic buildings: Old Hardwick Hall and the Renaissance style Manse known as Hardwick Hall. Bess of Hardwick was born in the original hall and had it renovated to impress guests in 1587. When her 4th husband died and she came into substantial funds she built the latter and present day manse. We were able to tour both with our National Trust memberships (via Royal Oak Society). One can climb to the top of the Old Hall for a bit of a view of the countryside if the weather is accommodating. There are no handrails, though, so take walking sticks if you think you need support while traversing the original stone steps. The Manse is huge and the tour is quite extensive. It is self guided but volunteers are available for questions. Some unique features are the longest Elizabethan Long Hall in the National Trust holdings. It has 450 year old tapestries hanging on the walls. There are also four noble women tapestries that Bess designed specifically for this house. She was obviously quite a talented woman. There are some gardens along the front and the back of the house, but not a formal designed style like you see on some properties. Parking was in a very large lot a bit of a distance from the entrance. There is a cafe on the grounds that offers a delicious cream tea as well as a myriad of other delights, all reasonably priced.

Amazing staff/volunteers making sure your visit is :) I wish I had noted the name of the lovely lady at the visitors centre who went through the areas I and the dogs could visit. The old hall, gardens and estate are brilliant. We loved our visit ❤️

A wonderful historical place of interest with stunning tapestries. We spent a very happy 3 and a half hours there. Checking out the history of bess's family, with help from the very knowledgeable volunteers. Strolling the gardens and climbing the 127 steps of old Hardwick hall. Then stopping for a very tasty cheese scone and coffee in the restaurant.

Great place to walk over the mountain, enjoy water and have lots of fun. Get ready to spend at least 4 hours. There is parking facility and credit card is accepted. There are toilets for free. Carry food & get ready to walk for kms. Great pleasure ahead.

A beautiful area with plenty of walking, the path along the riverside can be rough in places so mind your step. The walk (fairly steep and loose) up Thorpe Cloud by the stepping stones gives stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

Beautiful place, however the natural beauty is spoiled by many who leave behind all their rubbish. Fulled used baby nappies in the car park, left in the parking bay with bins within 20 yards, plastic bottles, crisp packets amongst many. The National Trust staff try their best to litter pick and offer bin bags to large families who set up picnics but there are still many individuals who can't use the bins. Maybe it's a strange concept or maybe they are just dirty, lazy people. This is a national park that should be looked after by all.

One of my favourite places to hike in the Peak District because of how gorgeous it is and how accessible it is for us. The stepping stones are always fun. The climb to Thorpe Cloud is lovely for a great view and very doable with kids. There's a £6 min. charge for parking (unless you have a National Trust membership, in which case it's free). There's a small coffee truck on the car park for refreshments. We tend to take a picnic with is instead.

I visited Dovedale Stepping Stones recently and absolutely loved it.The walk from the car park is short and easy, with gorgeous views of the River Dove all along the way. The stepping stones themselves are such a fun and iconic feature,great for kids and adults alike❤️❤️

Dovedale is a gem of a dale, I as a preference would say it is the best of the Derbyshire dales. It has a very nice river with lots of bird life, you can walk down the whole length. There are stepping stones to cross the river,caves which have been lived in and if you fancy a challenge you can walk to the top of Thorpe Cloud. On coming to the Ilam end there is a national trust car park and cafe. If you carry on into Ilam passed the memorial you get to Ilam Hall which i9part youth hostel and part national trust with a cafe belonging to the national trust,you can also get food from the youth hostel.

Lovely and scenic walking tracks with a no of spots for picnic. Lovely lime stone formations.. The tracks are not wheelchair friendly...

Went to Chatsworth for the Christmas markets, light trail and to see the house wonderfully decorated for Christmas. Really enjoyed the decorations in the house, which was a nature theme this year, bringing the outside in. The grandeur of the house is magnificent, with a great history, you can wander round at your own leisure. There are guides in every room who are friendly and very approachable ready to answer any questions you may have. There are lots of places to eat and drink and some nice gift shops, plenty of toilets and amenities for baby changing and people with disabilities. The grounds are extensive and well kept, I particularly liked the rock garden, which looked lovely lit up. The market is very good, with all the usual Christmas stalls, selling gifts and food/wine/ gin tasting, most off the stalls I did notice were card only, I did draw some cash out and ended up spending it in the gift shops. The ground the stalls are on is all got a ground cover on so not muddy. There is plenty of seating areas for when you grab a coffee or burger etc.

We enjoy visiting Chatsworth House. This time an art exhibition was on display, which changed the experience in a positive way. We don’t always get to see the animals, but we were able to this time around. The weather was great. The staff were helpful. We had a poke around the shops. A lovely day out. I would recommend to anyone, especially if you haven’t been before

Visited Chatsworth Christmas on the 23rd November. It was truly a lovely day. The Christmas market is excellent, very different from your average UK Christmas market. The quality of food, drink and products on offer was brilliant. Definitely visit the Scone hut, they are truly to die for. Chatsworth House Christmas display is outstanding and walking the garden just adds that extra dimension to a great day. Add in the gift shops and the overall atmosphere and you will not be disappointed. If you are local in Derbyshire then do one thing, go to Chatsworth, its a no brainer.

The Chatsworth Christmas ticket gives you access to the House, unlimited entry to the gardens for one day, and you can also access the Christmas market (which is free). It’s a lovely day out and well worth the ticket price. Be warned, food and drink inside is very pricey (but what do you expect?). I’d recommend the Stables for something lovely and warm that doesn’t break the bank.

Fabulous visit to chatsworth house & Christmas Market. Lovely stalls to look round. You will love the house with all the Christmas trees and the wonderful decorations. The walk round the gardens were just wonderful too. So worth a visit at this time of year.

An absolutely magical, Christmas experience! The house itself is mind blowing and each room makes you gasp with how much detail and care has gone into each and every decoration. It was laid out perfectly and even had sounds and scents through each experience. The gardens were beautiful to walk through and the Christmas markets were spectacular 😍 There was something for everyone to enjoy there! I cant wait to come back again next year 🎄✨️🎁

Bought tickets well in advance to visit the house and also the Christmas markets. My family enjoyed visiting the house, it's very easy to get around there are a few staircases which you need to navigate. As the visit is in preparation for Christmas there are lots of Christmas trees beautifully presented throughout and the staff are very helpful and informative. I thoroughly enjoyed the Christmas markets; having been to lots of busy public access Christmas markets like Manchester, Liverpool, York etc it was a fantastic relaxing experience to be able to walk around freely and visit the different vendors. Will certainly look at returning.

Amazing weekend out for all the family. Look for a hotel stay with extra day free park entry tickets because you will need 2 days, at least, to see everything. Park is large, good selwxtion of animals and animatronic dinosaurs. Lots of play parks, soft play, indoor play, cafes and restaurants. Staff in the park, hotel, and shops were exceptional and very informative. Costs are very reasonable for food and gifts.

It's a fun day out for everyone! There's loads of free parking, but stick to the regular car park unless you're staying at the hotel. The animals have big enclosures. You can find the feeding times at the entrance. You can buy a map at the entrance or download the app. I reckon the best way to see the Park is to go right after you get through the turnstiles. Head through Pangea, the dinosaur bit. Watch out for the spitting dino! It'll take you 2 to 3 hours to walk around. Wear comfy shoes. There are plenty of places to eat and picnic spots for the kids. Drinks and snacks are a bit pricey, but hey, that's what you get when you're captive audience! We visited at the beginning of October and saw at least 90% of the animals.

Very good parking and a large footprint. Contains several play areas and eating establishment's. A good variety of animals and good viewing areas. In windier/colder weather, be aware that some areas are closed off and there's a chance you may not see certain animals. Could be better signposting throughout the park in my opinion. Overall it is worth the visit.

What a day! I honestly felt like a little kid again. It’s been years since I last visited a zoo or wildlife park, and I was completely in my element. The staff were so friendly, the animals were fantastic, and the walk-through areas were an absolute highlight. Such a lovely experience from start to finish – I can’t wait to go back!

Fantastic place. Awesome day out, animals look very well looked after with big enclosures, originally went to see Capybara due to an obsessed child, nice little walk around to be within a few feet of one. Plenty put stops to eat or have a picnic. Highly recommend.

Visited many times in the past but this time it was for the Light Festival. Couldn't fault anything. Food options at The Hive are varied and obviously lots of things to do/see - although of course most of the animals were abed! The staff were helpful and kind , even after a long day of helping. Easy to get to and exit - but that's by car. Can't speak about other transport options. The Light Festival is worth a visit; it's truly a 'walk-of-art'!!

Nicely laid out, great attractions and plenty of different animals, it was nice to see them in decent enclosurs. Went for the Halloween event which had 5 sections to find, they was big ques but they didn't make you feel rushed. Will definitely visit again.

Been here before. Plenty of shops and food quarter to eat in. Stayed in hotel near by so could return with better photos. Plenty of security staff and shops clean and tidy. Had taco bell which was nice and hot. Popeyes which I found quite spicy. Overall shopping centre with lots of choices. Being on Sunday was very busy. And car park looked full. Xmas lights looked nice.worth a visit once xmas sets in.

Meadowhall is a massive shopping area right next to the M1 motorway. Been around a few year now and needs more upgrades in certain areas. Lots of parking in privately owned car park free for a certain amount of hours. Lots of big brand shopping outlets for everyone’s needs regardless of age or gender. There used to be a lot more individually owned shops rather than just jig department stores which is a shame. I would go in the week if possible weekends are mental. No supermarkets but a M & S so most things covered. Worth going to for sure.

Meadowhall is a huge shopping centre, so huge that I felt overwhelmed. At times I was disoriented and had no idea which section of the shopping centre I was in. Virtually every high street shop is present along with a few independents. My favourite shop was Lindt Chocolates. If you enjoy large shopping, you may live Meadows which has great variety of shops and eateries!

Meadowhall remains a bustling shopping hub, offering a mix of retail, dining, and entertainment. The Oasis Dining Quarter provides various food options, making it a great spot for a break during shopping. As for Motorfest, it was a spectacular event featuring Hollywood cars, classic vehicles, and even Transformers like Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. The event also supported Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, with charity. Visitors enjoyed live music, arts and crafts, and even supercar passenger rides for donations. It was a truly great experience.

Came for Christmas shopping. Place was easy accessable for my wheelchair. Beautiful decorations there is an abundance of different things to shop for and veriaty of food to eat

Love meadowhall with its range of shops and free parking. Plenty of places to eat too. I would not advise going in school holidays or as Christmas approaches,on a Saturday. It does get very busy but we enjoyed our visit on a Friday late November.

Great shopping center and easy to reach via public transport, has a train station. Plenty of parking. It's huge, very easy to get lost but that's all part of it. Pretty much every shop you'd imagine to be in such a large place. Plenty of good food and things to do. Definitely worth a visit.

What a brilliant and beautiful place. I am a carer for a boy with disabilities who is not easily entertained or kept engaged enough to not want to leave place after 2 hours, Canon hall was different. Greeted by a lovely lady called Rebecca who scanned our ticket we booked online. Rebecca kindly and clearly explained about the pumpkin patch and the activities on the brochure given to you. Rebecca also gave me a great heads up about the free parking for care assistants - honestly really helpful annd genuine advice from her. The little boy I Look after enjoyed every section. - The goats -the sheep ( sheep racing was his favourite) - watching the cow get moved about - all the other animals -the two different park sections - the pumpkin patch -the pumpkin carving - anddddddd a soft play area ?!? We were spoilt for choice. Spent 4 hours here, could have been a lot longer if we didn’t have to get home. On our way out we also bumped into the lovely Rebecca again who interacted brilliantly with the little boy I look after and explained to us the best way to get out ( give that woman a raise she was great). Canon hall farm is a beautiful, scenic place to come to, and most staff are friendly and genuine. I recommend it highly 👍

I took my daughter there for her birthday and we loved it. We enjoyed seeing the animal. I watched a sheep race. They have a indoor area and outdoor area. They're really good the food was fresh and well served. I do recommend this place

The parking was really big and more than enough spaces. We pre paid online. The farm is fantastic, it's well set out and enough for all ages to enjoy. The animals are well looked After and the surroundings are well cared for. Love the farm shop. Definitely will be back again. You could take your own food and leave it in your car until needed, also cafe well laid out, clean and has a play area for. Kiddies.

Beautiful mature trees... plenty of space for dogs to run around and play off lead. Very dog-friendly all round! It can be busy on nice days, but there's plenty of parking, especially in the top car park. A great destination for family members of all ages.

This place has been on my bucket list for such a long time. What a gem! I could’ve have walked around three times instead of twice. Visited with my teenage son and hubby. We all loved it. Staff are friendly. The lemon drizzle style ice cream was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS 😋 The chips are delightful. The shop was great. But the highlight for us all was all the fabulous animals. Piglets, chickens, sheep, meerkats, alpacas, Guinea pigs, reptiles, cows, goats, reindeer. I could go on and on. The animal feed was cheap and loved by the sheep and cows. I was disappointed that we couldn’t get closer to the animals but it was still a fantastic day and I didn’t want it to end. The paths are well maintained. The animals look so happy and well looked after. I was sad to leave, especially as we’d not seen farmer Dave or Rob, but maybe next time as I will be back.

Really enjoyed our visit here and so did the grandchildren who proudly left with their pumpkins, had cake and coffee in the lucky pup and really enjoyed that also, next time I will stay over at one of the local hotels and take a closer look at Barnsley. Really enjoyable visit and will be back.

What an excellent place to visit, will definitely be returning. The set up is great you have the chance to buy animal food and feed certain animals. It’s a great place to take the kids with lots for them to do. We ate in The White Bull and the food was amazing, the farm shop is also a great place to go with an extensive range of local produce. Well done Cannon Hall Farm.

A great day out for all. Beautiful gardens, surrounded by stunning scenery and extraordinary sculptures. Well worth a visit. The gardens are situated in a valley so you need to be fairly fit to walk down and back but the slopes and steps make it possible even for older visitors.

Loved it here. Beautiful park full of loads of amazing sculptures. Lots of areas to explore. I particularly enjoyed the William Kentridge exhibition and the chapel too. Highly recommended and look forward to my next visit.

A random day out, selected by my daughter. I had never heard of the place but found it really enjoyable. The day we went was early November, very misty with a slight drizzle toward the end if our time, this actually made the atmosphere quite eerie. £9.50 entrance fee seemed fair. We only had a few hours so want to go back probably on a sunny day as there is a lot more to explore.

This has long been on my list and well worth it. I was bowled over with the exhibits, enjoyed myself even with the rain. Plenty of trees to shelter under. Huge park, the site map shows routes and distance, a few times I was disorientated needing some more signposts. I worked out I walked over 12k with my round trip and gallery walks. A fun Art Studio in the Underground Gallery with objects, paper and coloured pencils to create ones own art. Accessibility: Good, one room I thought was difficult due to the door and the gallery in the Chapel. Otherwise Lifts, Ramps and accessible Paths. Scooters and Wheelchairs for hire. Some hilly areas, and you need to get onto the grass to get close up to quite a few sculptures. Car Park: Not too far from the entrance with parking for disabled nearer. Staff: Friendly and helpful. Toilets: In the main building and another set in the park. Disabled loo.

Stunningly beautiful natural landscape with amazing works of art scattered all round in a sensitive way. Could spend all day there. The cakes in the cafe looked amazing too! Biscoff cookie sandwich, yes please!

Love this place for an amazing pit-stop whenever we have to drive south. The grounds and sculptures are first-rate anyway, of course, but the restaurant serves great food and the balcony has fantastic views over the rolling landscape. A nice meal and a stroll around here does a wonderful job of wiping out two hours of driving, ready for the second leg.

The sculptures are set in beautiful grounds and the sculptures are extremely varied. There are a number of location maps around the grounds but I feel where individual pieces are could be made more clear.

I’ve been to many museums around the world, and this is definitely one of the best. The collection is astounding and there’s so much to see, you’ll need a whole day to do it justice. It’s great for all ages and you don’t need to have a particular interest in armies or weapons to enjoy your visit. The displays are beautifully arranged. The museum is free to enter and there are multiple free shows for kids and adults alike to enjoy throughout the day. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Leeds.

Fantastic day out. Loads to see and interact with. The historic role plays are very informative. A well stocked shop has plenty of items for all ages. If you fancy a snack and drink then the cafe has it all. There is a car park very close.

A must if you're in Leeds. Free entry and four floors to explore with a ticketed seasonal exhibit on the top floor. Pieces of armour and weapons from all around the world and from many different time periods, arranged from oldest to newest. There is also a peace exhibit. Most of the Asian/African pieces are on the fourth floor, which was my favourite part of the museum. Live events happen throughout the day, tickets are available for seated positions with standing tickets free and first come first served. Showing up about twenty minutes before start time will almost guarantee you a seat but means you miss time in the museum. Modern building that is walkable from the corn exchange and main shopping district easily in about 15-20 minutes. I recommend the walk in daylight hours. There is also a water taxi service available that terminates near the entrance and a bus that gets you most of the way there, look online for full schedules and details.

I’ve been visiting the Royal Armouries in Leeds since I was a child, and it remains a timeless experience. Some of the exhibits are clearly veterans of many years, but they add to the charm of returning time and again. It’s a brilliant place for kids – the interactive displays bring history to life across different time periods without being frightening or sensationalised. One of the highlights, as always, is the magnificent elephant in its suit of armour – though I still don’t know how they manage to get it to stand so patiently all day while visitors admire it! My favourite exhibit was a temporary film and TV exhibit in 2008 which I visited with my high school history class and was able to view arms and armour from the critically acclaimed Lord of the Rings and Narnia feature films. On this visit, we enjoyed the temporary Roman Gladiator exhibition, which was well worth the small entry fee (the main museum remains free). A special mention to the kind lady at the desk who offered concession entry for NHS/Blue Light card holders – much appreciated. The museum could benefit from clearer signage, as it’s quite easy to lose oneself in the vast collection. I was a little bemused to find Steven Gerrard among the Tudor plate armour, but equally delighted to see Princess Diana represented in the peace exhibit – a thoughtful touch. The visit finished, as always, with a trip through the extensive and tempting gift shop. Overall, the Royal Armouries is a wonderful museum, full of history, surprises, and memories – well worth visiting, whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth.

A wonderful place to visit. Free entry. Lots and lots of exhibitions covering many centuries. We spent couple of hours in here but needed much longer. It’s really well spaced out, so even though it was busy it wasn’t cramped. Air con was very welcome. Kids loved the show that was on. Lots and lots to do and see and it’s set at leeds dock which is also a fab place to visit

Go early to catch as many shows as you can. We were there only able to catch the last 2 shows of the day. Hall of steel is an amazing hall to awe. A showcase in a gallery called Make Belief includes knife crime which is important for kids nowadays. A display on peace is too tug away. Though it is free admission, they seem keen on gaining donation to support the operation.

Roundhay Park is a beautiful green space at the heart of the community. The park has something for everyone – from wide open areas to relax, to fun attractions like the land train ride and play parks for children. The lake is perfect for a stroll, and feeding the ducks is always a favourite. There’s a lovely café overlooking the water, and you’ll often find an ice cream van nearby on sunny days. The park also hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including fairs and food festivals, which make every visit feel different and exciting. A vibrant and welcoming place

Nice area with cafes, walks, cricket pitch and a land train. Area was really clean (almost no litter) and the paths were fairly good; more than good enough for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Also the Monet Garden and HESCO garden which were lovely too.

Roundhay Park is such a nice place to spend a few hours. It’s really big, with lakes, open fields, and plenty of walking paths. There are always people out with their dogs or having picnics, but it still feels calm and peaceful. You can get some great views around the park too. It’s one of those spots that just makes you feel relaxed and glad to be outside

It was very fantastic yesterday afternoon and I enjoyed it a lot with my only brother and husband. There is a nice view of the lake area. A nice arrangement for sitting is also a perfect picnic spot with a picture perfect environment.we are delighted specially me because I always ask my husband for the "Ice-cream " they sell at the park yesterday its perfect timing and took two on my both hand like my childhood then went back to my childhood days....itsssss a Marvelous day out....thanks to park authority.... Going very soon there.. 😊

It’s my favourite place to visit in Leeds. The most beautiful and spacious park in the city with great views and landscapes especially round the lakes. You can enjoy walking, cycling, hiking or just relaxing having your tea or coffee near the lake. It’s the best place for picnic although it doesn’t have enough restrooms for visitors.

A fabulous huge open space free to visit. Although LCC have now imposed car parking charges which isn’t ideal. Disabled parking is free. 2 beautiful lakes, loads of walks. Wonderful band stand. Boathouse cafe and coffee shop at the bottom. Mansion house tea rooms at the top.
