The hike to Trolltunga is stunning, and so is the Trolltunga view point. I will give you my advice for coming to Trolltunga. I arrived at P2 at 6:30 and I came early to make sure to have a parking spot. When I returned to the parking at around 2 o'clock in the afternoon there were still available spaces. I must add that the hiking trail today didn't feel very busy. The waiting time at the view point was 5 minutes at 10:30 in the morning. How did I hike? From P2 I walked all the way and didn't take the shuttle bus. The road up there (same one as the shuttle bus drives) is about 2,5km and very steep. When you walk passed the shuttle bus stop on the mountain the first 2km of the trail are also steep. It's s path builed out of large rocks that form a stairway. Don't understand it, this is the hardest part of the hike. After that the trail will remain relatively flat all the way to Trolltunga. The trail is well maintained from beginning to the end, it's pretty much impossible to get lost. Just follow the metal poles and red marks "T". From P2 to Trolltunga and back without a shuttle bus is a ~26km round trip. The views along the way are gorgeous and spectacular!

You can buy shuttle tickets online for the ride up. The ride down is paid on the spot after you arrive back (possible by card). 3. Think twice before bringing kids. We have two — 14 and 10 years old, both super active — but we left them at home. Best decision ever. 4. A summer rain jacket is non-negotiable. In August, the weather changed 10 times an hour — heavy rain, freezing wind, bright sun, repeat. Rocks get slippery, so sturdy hiking boots are a must, preferably fully waterproof. If it’s windy and raining, water will get everywhere, no matter what. 5. Layers are your best friend. With the weather changing so quickly, you can go from hot to freezing in minutes — and you’ll definitely feel the difference. Bottom line: exhausting, unpredictable… and 100% worth it. Enjoy every minute!

Trolltunga is absolutely breathtaking! The hike is challenging—long and steep in parts—but every step is worth it for the views at the top. The cliff itself is incredible for photos and the surrounding fjords are stunning. Make sure to bring proper hiking gear, food, and water. Truly one of Norway’s most iconic and Instagram-worthy spots!

The hike was easy for me, been here twice in 3 years, unfortunately the shuttle bus for 2 section is getting pricey. Take sufficient water and queue for the line and enjoy the view.

Rather boring hike on a cloudy day and impressive queue to make a picture. We enjoyed the picnic behind the rock, such a cosy spot, you don’t see and hear the crowd. A bit overhyped, I wouldn’t do it again.

Beautiful hike with incredible scenery all along: turquoise lakes, glacier and huge rocks. The Trolltunga is very impressive as well. Be aware on a good day there is a big queue to take pictures on the rock.

Hands down, one of the most scenic and picturesque places I’ve seen. It cannot be described and photos don’t do this place justice, but let’s say it’s worth every step of those 27.5 km. We parked at P2 and started our hike at 8:15. Beware, because if there is a bus coming down, you might have to park at P1 and wait there a while until they tell you you can continue, so plan this possible delay too. The first leg is definitely one of the hardest (if not the hardest) and there are two more sections along the way which might be a bit more challenging for a semi-experienced hiker. You can fill water from the streams from the first shelter onwards which is around half way to Trolltunga. We took a lot of photos, made short detours, and had two longer breaks around lakes, so it took us around 6 hours to get there. The line for taking pictures between 1 and 3pm on week days is between 30-40 minutes, although if you don’t insist on having your pictures taken on Trolltunga itself or you are in a rush, there is a smaller and similar looking rock just behind it and there might be no line for it at all. We did take pictures on both rocks. The descent took us a little over 4 hours as we kept a steady and somewhat brisk pace all the way down. Again, if you are in Norway and you are in a good enough physical condition, don’t think of skipping Trolltunga - it will be one of the most amazing natural sights you’ve ever seen!

Stopped here on our cruise and walked around the lovely town. Everyone so helpful and friendly too. Take the cruise through the fjords if you can, they are stunning!

Very informative, interesting and interactive. This museum wasn't top of my list when I first came to Stavanger but I really enjoyed it and I'd recommend going. The history was fascinating and there were a lot of interactive elements.

Great museum. It is quite specific museum and if somebody is not really interesting on offshore, oil and gas industry probably will be bored. I am crazy about that and I was so happy to have a chance to visit that place. My close friends and relatives works in Norwegian oil and gas industry and it was so heart touching to see platforms they worked on or built. Very friendly stuff. Very clean and generally modern and new building. Clean toilets. My kid loved visitors game and a prize ❤️. She loves it and for now the prize is her the biggest treasure. Price is quite high. It was something about 250 NOK for 1 adult and a school age kid but still worth. And what I like the most - the museum is open from 10:00 while all the other museums are open from 11:00. From my side - I do recommend to visit that place.

Interesting visit included on our Viking tour. We had to detour here because of bad weather going to the shetlands, so we did a walking tour of the city which was interesting as well as visiting the museum. Be advised, though, there are many hills and slopes, so if you have a problem with walking, you may not want to do the tour.

Intriguing museum about an important part of Norwegian history. It features interactive exhibits that are in both Norwegian and English. I recommend the vertical movie located at the end of the tour of the model oil platform. Was really interesting to see how the oil and gas were pulled up in a vertical, immersive way.

Must visit when you are in Stavanger. It gives a great insight in the history of Norwegian petrol industry which has made the foundation of a Norwegian welfare state. Also a good historical exposition of Stavanger city and interactive games. Interesting both for the kids and grownups.

If you are into tough engineering projects, this is for you. The history of Norway oil exploration and extraction in the North Sea. Very impressive.

It was an amazing experience. The waterfalls is beautiful and there was a rainbow too. It was fun walking on the bridge and have a 360 degrees view of the place surrounded by waterfalls. There's 2 places where you can park the car. The toilets are nice and clean. It is free to visit.

Among the best hiking spot so far for me in Norway. The hiking trails were very well maintained and suitable for all level of hikers. With a bit of fitness preparation, it should be doable activity. Don’t forget to bring water and snacks or fruits. You should be fine there ✌🏻⛰️🍁

I recommend going there in the late afternoon. The hike is not that difficult as stated in other comments. I would mark it as a medium one. Just be careful at the rocks when going up/down. Definitely worth it. It took us around 4h return including stops, photos. You need to make sure you have enough water with you and some snacks.

Beautiful place to visit. The hike is not easy but definitely doable. We saw many folks who were seemingly in their 70s-80s who did that. Although my teenage son complained a lot on that hike, and was very exhausted by the end.

We are a group of four members from India, who did this trek. We started by 9.00 from the base camp. Climbed up in 2 hrs & 30 mins. It's a moderate level tough trek. We suggest you start as early as possible. So that it will be easy while returning . Carry water with you. Nothing available in the top. There's a icecream shop & a cafe at the base camp. Awesome hike to the rock but can get busy at times. Only attempt this on good footwear (absolutely no sandals) Time 4 hours top and back plus time for rest stops. Top tip: Make absolutely sure to bring mosquito repellent in summer as they love the fresh water pools you pass on the way up!

The Lyse fjord is yet another wonder of nature is this blessed part of Norway. It is definitely a must go if you are visiting Stavanger or surroundings. The boat tour provides some stunning visuals of the formations, including a close stop by a waterfall near by.

AMAZIIIIIING!! After my 4th hiking trip to Norway, I have never seen a more stunning spot in Norway as such. Lysebotn village is very beautifully located in a very picturisque place. You can hike to Peikestolen (Pulpit rock), Flørli 4444 wooden stairs, Kjeragbolten and Kalelli. You will be rewarded with amazing untouched beauty everywhere.

By boat from Stavanger to the Lysefjord and back again. A very nice trip overlooking the beautiful wild nature of the fjord. Takes 3.5 hours and never bores for a moment. You can stay inside on the boat and enjoy fresh coffee with a cinnamon roll or go outside on the upper deck to see everything even better and get a nice breath of fresh air.

Nice but over rated. Pulpit rock viewed from the bottom will be a real disappointment. Better to take the hike if you can. The cruise on a fast boat takes 3 hours. Better to go in the morning as the sun hits the rock straight on. We were lucky with a cloudless day in June but be prepared for wet raining cold day.

We went through Lysefjord on a boat cruise from Stavanger. It was very beautiful, and hard to appreciate or envision the height until seeing other boats on the water. It was worth the trip as there were several beautiful sites along the way in addition to the general scenic fjord views.

I visited this place back in Jun 2017. It was my first ever fjord visit! I took the Rodne Fjord Cruise's Pulpit rock cruise and hike package. The weather was not on my side that day with rain and clouds. But the skies cleared as we went into the fjord and I enjoyed it thoroughly! Its absolutely beautiful.

We got lucky to be in corner family suite so the balcony and room are a bit bigger than other family suites. It was meant for 6 people - 2 double bunk beds and 2 single bunk beds. We are 3 people. The room was perfect for us but the mattress and pillows were not good. Both felt like too soft due to too little fillings. I stacked three pillows and still too thin. I had to row up a blanket under the pillow. The sofa is more comfortable than the mattress. I had to sleep on the sofa to get a good night sleep. We did not try the breakfast after reading the reviews. We ate at nearby mcdonald in sorlandet senter. There are quite a lot of nice eating places in that shopping mall. Motti Thai is highly recommended. The buffet thai Thai is also not bad.

A unique experience, especially for children who love animals and Captain Sabeltann. The food at the hotel is very good and fresh, and the rooms have everything you need to enjoy the park, although on hot summer days there is no air conditioning and it is not advisable to stay in the room until the night air arrives. Situated 10-15 minutes drive from Kristiansand at the local zoo. The service is good. The food is even better. The hotel is crowded in the holiday season, but I strongly recommend a stay.

I normally stop here when I work at Dyreparken. Beautiful place, well themed, zoo right outside the front door. What's not to like? Restaurant is large and comfortable. The evening buffet has everything, as does the breakfast. Staff are outstanding. A lot of the staff have been there for years and know everything you need to know. The rooms are a reasonable size and the en suites well fitted. There are coffee /tea facilities in the room. The TV has several Norwegian channels but a lot of films and tv series are English anyway and it isn't dubbed. The photo shows the view from my room (303). The zoo is just across the car park.

Last stop on my Road Trip across Norway, ferry this afternoon so I stopped here. What a lovely place to stop at. Comfortable rooms, lovely buffet restaurant. I think it would be different when kids are on holidays, the amusement park next door looks like it could be a lot of fun!!

Aalborg Zoo is a fantastic family-friendly destination! We had a wonderful time exploring the zoo with our kids. They were thrilled to see the impressive dinosaur exhibit, which sparked their imagination. The highlight for them was definitely the big cats – the tigers and lions were magnificent. We also enjoyed watching the zebras and giraffes, and the penguins were absolutely adorable. The lemurs added a playful touch to our visit. The zoo offers a great variety of animals and plenty of interactive experiences for children. Highly recommended for a fun-filled family day out!

A truly fantastic experience! I loved the focus on rare and endangered species like the magnificent Asian lions and Bornean orangutans. The zoo balances serious conservation with family fun; the Dinosaur Land exhibit, with its life-size characters, was an absolute highlight that the children loved. A must-visit attraction for anyone in the region!

2025-10-15 - Far from being the best zoo we have visited (family of 5 persons). It wasn’t a bad experience, but not really good either. We spend 4 hours here and was asked several times by our kids when should leave (age 10, 7 and 4). There was a Halloween theme, which was made quite well, but sadly it wasn’t enough to change our experience. Also parking the car was a mess as there wasn’t enough parking spots.

Really had a good time at this place . They have quite a good range of animals . You can easily spend upto 3 hours. A lot of eating place and kids play area . The place is kept quite clean and organized . And jot far from the city center.

Great for kids and their families. You get the whole Lego experience as soon as you enter. The corridors and rooms are decorated in various lego themes...pirates, knights etc. Table tops, door signs, bathroom tiles all fit the Lego theme. Entry to Legoland is via a walkway from the hotel. Breakfast is good. Lots of options to suit many tastes. The restaurant also caters for dinner as well, with a menu that does offer some Danish food.

Beautiful park, some areas could need a little touch-up / love, but we absolutely loved it. There is something for everyone. I especially adored all the attention to details. A dog bowl in Lego etc. Halloween isn’t really a thing where we’re from, so we were surprised to see the whole park decorated. (Since we forgot that we were going in the week of Halloween) It was a pleasant surprise and made the whole experience feel magical. The prices change when pre ordering tickets depending on date, it was wise to order them with a discount online, the day before we went.

We just visited during the autumn holiday and had an absolute blast on the rides! The atmosphere was great, and we treated ourselves to some delicious churros too 👀 I was also there in summer and had such a fun time - especially on the water-themed rides like the canoe and the pirate boat 💦 Always a great day out! Even during holidays the lines aren’t bad - the longest we waited was about 20 mins. Highly recommended for kids! ✨️

A fantastic place for kids and families! The park is cozy, creative, and full of fun details everywhere you look. I recommend going on a day when it’s less crowded – it makes the experience so much better (we loved being able to walk straight through the queues without waiting). The attractions are varied and suit all ages, from the smallest rides to the bigger roller coasters, and of course the incredible LEGO builds all around the park. It really feels like stepping into another world. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Denmark, and I’d recommend buying your tickets in advance to save time at the entrance.

This place is so fun my 3 children had a blast. They have many rides that even my 1 year old can go on, providing that we held her in our lap or sat next to her. The rides are diverse, the line ups were not too long. All in all a fantastic experience. Only criticism would be we should have had 2 full days to see everything, it's a lot if you only have 1 day.

We visited in September, and Legoland was a bit of a disappointment. It’s the oldest Legoland, and you can tell - everything looks a bit faded, there’s some cobwebs here and there, and it’s not very clean overall. Inside there’s a great big LEGO store, but the prices are higher than in the Netherlands. It only really makes sense to buy the limited editions - though, to be honest, they’re not particularly exciting either. Overall, if you’re traveling from another country just for Legoland, it might be worth considering other destinations. But don’t forget - there’s also the LEGO House in Billund, and that place is really great.

Fun for a whole day for both small kiddos and adults. Plenty of spaces to sit down and eat the lunch you bring (and you should bring one, because food in the park is expensive). The Atlantis sea world part was very cool with live fish aquariums to look at. We were there on a Friday in October on a mostly cloudy day and it was the perfect amount of people - we only had to queue for the biggest thrill rides and even then only 15min. All other attractions was max 5 minutes wait, so we could even do all rides multiple times if we wanted to. Pay for parking in advance for smoother experience.

This zoo was beyond our expectations, it has several species of animals that one may not found in every other zoo. It is a tropical zoo with animals from Asia, Africa & South America and many of those are rarest animal species. It has really nice playgrounds and cafes too. One can easily spend 4-5 hours here.

Do you want a jungle adventure without breaking the bank, this place could be for you. 3 bio domes houses numerous fish, birds, insects and animals like monkeys, Sloth, Crocodile s and many other. We visited this place in start of June and had a great experience. Familys with children will have a splendid time here. After your adventure you can enjoy some food in the cafe or visit a shop with merchandise. I recommend this place for children in all ages and for all interested in biology and animals.

Generally good. But you can tell that the zoo is coming into its years. Way too crowed!! People are pushing through with their big kiddie bicycle trailers or huge prams. It’s also very loud even if signs are asking visitors to be quiet. Still kids are loving it and the new outdoor area is nice.

A must see if you are visiting the area! I was really surprised by the diversity of the ecosystems on display here. Each space was beautifully constructed and everything seemed natural and wild. There were a lot more animals here than I had expected. The info cards about each animal were a nice addition and I learned many new bits of trivia during the visit.

I love Randers Rainforest even though I live in Copenhagen I have now been there twice, this last time on my own so that I could take my time. I want to go again soon.

This is how a zoo should be! They way they build the zoo is briljant everything seems to be one. A little ledge zo the turtles dont run away but you can step in with them. A little house with a window with big cuddly cats, a cave with bats where they nearly hit you head, really cool! pro tip, if you have binoculairs bring them! To see the birds upclose is even cooler. Another tip, my pregnant wife needed a few times to sit. And everytime you do you wil discover new animals, so take your time. All signs have English on them and they have really smart signs with al the animals on them you might wanna take a photo of them zo you can cross off what you found, a little where is Waldo. We came around 13:00 and parking was really full, we had to wait til somebody left. We waited 5 minutes so not that long. We spend like 3 hours and took our time and had a little lunch. And we forget to see the animals outside… I saw that in the other reviews. Sometimes the signs on the doors are a bit demotivating, something Danisch stands on the door and it probable says you may not eat in there and pet animals but if you cannot read it it could also say dont go in here. Will come back!

The restoration of this old castle is unique and worth seeing just for a completely different approach to restoring and protecting a heritage building. Definitely worth visiting.

13th century castle on a hill overlooking the town and the castle lake. It is probably Kolding's most famous landmark. If you want to see the castle from the inside, you will have to spend a lot of money. The entrance fee is quite expensive. You can pay in advance online or on site at the ticket office.

Interesting mix of old and new architecture. The castle was partially destroyed in a fire in 1808 and was rebuilt in the 20th century in a way which preserved the original building but also clearly showed the modern parts. One of the highlights for us was the Flora Danica table service. Just amazing. The princess gowns were lovely. There was even the possibility to dress up as royalty yourself. There is a cafe on site. There is parking near the castle but the castle is also within walking distance from the center of town.

Nice castle, the floral porcelain table ware was amazing. I also liked the replica clothing. The lace making looks very hard.

The Kolding Fortress or "Koldinghus" really is an iconic landmark for the city, It being destroyed back in the 1800's has still had a good restoration. Overall it's a good museum and has a great view on the top with the Hercules Statue remaining intact, it's overall a location worth visiting if you're having a transit through the city of Kolding.

This was under serious renovation at the time we visited. Although looking back at the history it seems to have spent more time like this than not! Was a nice casual look around, the way the modern elements slotted into the existing fabric was nothing short of breathtaking.

Gorgeous building, impressive restorations and a fun corner to play dress-up. This is my second visit but there was a lot more to see than the first time.

Absolutely amazing place! It really is like you are back in time. It was so interesting walking around fully immersed in the past. You could maybe spend all day here if you really took your time. My favourite thing in Aarhus and possibly the best musuem I’ve been to!

A wonderful step back in times past, representing many eras, cultures and historic events. Great for the family and history buffs. This spacious recreation is thoughtfully laid out walking through the Vikings to 1970s in the form of Main Street, museum of artifacts, village recreations and country estate with authentic trade shops. Historic coffee and bakery from the 1800s was inviting and delicious. Preteens may not appreciate the historical context of Aarhus, said to be the first civilized port of the Viking era. Well maintained and mostly accessible. Loved our visit

The absolutely beautiful museum took me back in time. I loved the 1970s themed arrangements the most. We had the perfect opportunity to visit during the K7 week too. Watch out for the ducks, they chase you!

What a fun experience. See housing, shops and vocational skills from several different time periods. Well maintained, picturesque area, and friendly hosts. Cute gift shop, too, that offers a variety of options from candy and toys, to kitchen gadgets, books, and ornaments.

Our first stop this morning was to The Old Town Museum (known as Den Gamle By). It is a museum that allows visitors to have a feel of the architecture and culture of the different eras – particularly the years 2014, 1974, 1927 and 1864. Even the streets have been remodelled accordingly with the cobbled streets belonging to an older era and smoother streets to the more modern era. You will see that the entire Old Town museum in Aarhus is immersive in that you can enter different buildings and learn about the history of that particular building. There are also period actors that would perhaps be a blacksmith, a backer and even a brewer – whom you can interact with to learn more about what they are doing... Den Gamle By is a very cool experience. We spent over 6 hours exploring all of the homes, businesses and gardens that have been recreated/ reconstructed. Good variety of food and drink options as you make your way through. Quite a lot of interactions set up in many of the exhibits, and the rotary phones you can use to call businesses in the town are such a fun idea.

Stepping into Aarhus Old Town is like time travel! You'll love wandering its charming cobblestone streets, admiring the beautifully preserved old buildings. It's truly an open-air museum, brimming with Danish history and a delightful, authentic atmosphere. Don't miss this captivating journey back in time!

The building itself is pretty cool. Some of the exhibitions are nice. They have headphones but only in Danish. The roof top sky walk is fun to take photos of.

suppose I hate modern art as most of this was dreadful to my eyes. I did like the landscape paintings and a few others but most of it was weird, bad or just utter nonsense. The two women cutting onions was the biggest joke they called art. I don’t get the rainbow roof either, so what? It’s tinted glass, for kids or Instagram/TikTokers it may be good but not for adults.

I was a bit disappointed from the expectations as they do have 10 floors but in reality only 7-8. The highest floor has the rainbow colored glass and This is definitely the best part of the museum in my opinion. 2 levels below it as the human art which was decent. The floor below it was okay. And all the other floors wasn't worth checking out. 2 floors were for a younger audience. So if you're going as a family it may be worth visiting all the floors. If you're all adults. You may not stay there for super long. They have a cafeteria and toilets as well as Free WiF, they have a button that slows down the rotating door which is good for bad walkers or wheelchair usersi. It's not a bad place but not a super interesting one either in my opinion.

Beautiful museum. A lot of stairs, but there are elevators available for people with difficulty to walk. We loved the interactive art area. We appreciated that the front desk employee warned us for a scarier exposition on the third floor, since we brought our child. That way we could avoid it. What could have made the experience so much better would be if they’d implement a play area for young children. Young kids can get bored or overwhelmed and it would be nice if they could de-stimulate in a play area/child friendly area. That way someone can watch the kids in the play area while the other can enjoy art in peace. The rainbow panorama is very noisy. This could trigger you if you’re sound sensitive. Best is to bring some kind of noise cancelling for a better experience. There was so much amazing art in this museum. It’s definitely worth a visit. Parking is a bit difficult. We went on a workday and there were very few parking spots available.

This museum is a hidden gem. There are 9 floors full of different kinds of art, and the collections never felt too repetitive like the large world-class art museums sometimes do. Floor 0 and all the installments must be checked out; our favorite was the Storm Room haha! I think total I spent 4 hours here, but I went back later in the day before it closed so luckily you can break it up a bit if you need to.

A great museum for a wide range of art, from paintings to 3D sculptures and the rainbow circle of glass on top. The building itself was super cool, especially the internal «courtyard» in the middle with its bridges spanning across the ravine. Enjoyed my visit and will def revisit if I get back to Århus!

It happens to be the first day open of 2025 for this big adventure park. It is the biggest adventure park in Denmark. My two girls and their cousin can’t wait to get there. We got there around 11am and left till 6pm. It is not very busy today but probably because they were closed during winter and just back today so some rides got technical issues to be fixed. It happens 3 times during our time there. Specially one of the popular ride called The Dragon, my girls waited for more than half hour, then they had been told they need to leave as there is a issue need to be fixed, but they did not offer any fast track pass for those who waited long time there at all. In general, the park is very good and fit all different ages’ need. We had great fun there although when the rain started, it was really cold as there has no indoor rides and no many indoor rest area.

We had a great visit here! Not only were the staff amazing from even before we came, helping with tickets and questions, but the staff in the park were also so friendly and helpful. We had to barely wait in line for most rides which is ideal!! The park has a great variety of rides for all stomachs. There is something for everyone! Trampolines and great picnic facilities and grills areas you can book and use for free. The park was tidy and the day was great!

Had a fantastic day here. Went on a Sunday after the school holidays ended and it wasn't busy. Longest wait time was about 10 mins. Got to try all the rides we wanted to go on and even had down time to sit and chill and use the tramps. Recommend a visit here!

Excellent attraction park. Our kids enjoyed Sommerland more than Legoland. There are so many options for all ages. Park facilities are very well thought and organized. Many food stalls from various cousines. We will come back.

A very nice zoo, where they take good care of their animals. Informative signs with a lot of fun facts. The biomes for the rainforest species and penguins are amazing, but bring a cardigan if you want to stay for feeding time in the latter, it's quite chilly (as it should be)!

Super nice zoo, the animals are well taken care of and they have a good time here. The park is nice to walk through, sometimes it is a little impossible to follow the main trail via the map. But that just makes the adventure more interesting. I am totally in love with the king penguins, they are so big! For me I feel that the enclosures could be a little bigger but I am not an expert after too course.

Really cozy place, animals are in a really good condition and have clean enclosures. I would recommend to buy a ticket online, so you don’t have to stand in the queue for tickets :)

Such an incredible zoo! There were so many animals to see and it was clear that they were really well looked after. One of the true highlights of Odense.

Beautiful zoo, the main route to follow is clear, plenty of food/drink stalls, and you had the possibility to walk in (or around) some animal area's to really get close to the animals.

A lovely castle, gardens museum and play areas. I went most looking forward to the castle but was pleasantly surprised by the size of the play area and the museum and particularly the collection of historical cars. The amount of activities for younger kids to keep them busy was great as well with lots of variety.

I would give 10 stars if I could. Initially thought the cost was a bit steep compared to other places we'd visited in Denmark. Enjoyed the gardens but hadn't expected the displays if vintage/old and very interesting cars, bikes, motorbikes, helicopters to be so extensive. 2 whole 'sheds' contained exhibits that were covered in dust as insufficient room to display.

Great place with many things to do. We spend 4 hours there, enjoying the impressive castle, the beautiful garden and the kids attractions: Maze, trampoline, playing ground and three tree top walking trail.

Visiting Egeskov Castle was one of the highlights of my trip to Denmark. Nestled in the beautiful countryside of Funen, this place is so much more than just a historic castle—it's a full-day experience packed with charm, culture, and fun for all ages. One of the best house and gardens we have been to. Lots for all the family, young and old. The motor museum was really good. The Dahlias were outstanding

A grand place for the family. Cars, motorcycles, history, gardens and facilities for a full days entertainment is all at Egeskov. Egeskov has a very large visitor capacity, so don't be worried if you see a full parking lot. It can easily handle the crowds. Great playgrounds for the little ones and lots of interesting things for the grown ups. Highly recommended.

This is probably the number 1 attraction in the area, and yet you don't need to be there long, and it definitely stirs mixed emotions. On the one hand, it's really cool to get to walk through a submarine, the engineering, the equipment, the pipes and valves, the electrics and communication, etc. are all fascinating. So, too, is a view of how the crew slept and ate in such a cramped space. But then the sombre thought that these guys were killing your guys, never really leaves you. Lest we forget.

A fantastic visit to the U-995 submarine in Laboe! An educational and informative experience about naval history and World War II. The submarine is clean and well-organized, with clear explanations. Perfect for families and history enthusiasts.

The Uboat gives an excellent insight to the life on the narrow boat during second worldwar and after. It is amazing to see how tight these places have been.

Been on my bucket list for a few years. Great piece of machinery well worth a visit.

A worthy memorial and museum for sailers in WW1 and WW2. Nice view on the top, and U-996 was cool to walk through.

Variety and overcrowd in such a narrow tunnel, and amazingly remained order. We took ship tour instead of strolling along the pier. Thereby we could have an overall idea about the harbor area and came with some great buildings to appreciate. For instance, Elbphilharmonie ! 🙂

Beautiful spot next to the South entrance of the Alter Elb Tunnel, and perfect if you want a panoramic view to the Hamburg waterfront on the North Side. If you’re up for it, you can also go and see the other photo spot next to the “Stage Theater An Der Elbe”, 20 minutes on foot. That will bring you closer to the Elbphilharmonie building.

One of the best hidden gems in Hamburg! You can walk here through the historic Elbtunnel or take a short ferry ride from Landungsbrücken. Once there, you get an amazing panoramic view of the harbor, the Elbphilharmonie, and the city skyline. Perfect spot for a quiet break, photos, or just watching ships go by. It’s peaceful and not too touristy. Highly recommend if you’re exploring the harbor area!

Easy to get here via the Elbtunnel (absolutely worth a visit) or a short ferry ride (included in the hvv day ticket). The view is really cool but partially obstructed. It would be ideal if the observation platform could be elevated and widened a bit. Otherwise an amazing view of the Hamburg skyline.

The best place to the get the most amazing view and experience of the Old Elbe Tunnel. German technology at its beautiful best since 1911. Free entry. Great concept for walking and cycling incorporated.

Or was a unique experience walking 450meters under the sea level in the tunnel originally constructed in 1911😍. Going up and down in such huge lifts is cool😇. The view of the port on Elbe on the other side of the tunnel is just wow. 😘

It was very impressive walking through the tunnel and ending up on the side to the viewpoint and seeing the seaport from the other side. It's a must-see when you visit Hamburg.

Wonderful experience, details are incredible, as well as the perfect scaling and diversity of scenes presented. 100% positive memory. Being an adult doesn’t mean itself not for you! Maybe ever better than being a kid. The day/night alternation gives it a magical touch. WOW

Wooooow! Amazing place with a unique experience that lets you walk through different parts of the globe. I loved how much attention to detail was put into everything, and the design often includes funny little scenarios—like taking a bath with a penguin or the sheep pyramid! It’s incredibly creative, yet the landscapes still feel realistic. The night and day versions of the cities are a very cool twist. Also, all the robotics and technology behind the functioning train system—without any crashes—is mind-blowing. I especially enjoyed getting a behind-the-scenes look at the newest addition. One thing to note: it’s a huge place to explore, so plan your visit accordingly to give yourself enough time to enjoy it without rushing from room to room. It can also get quite busy, so be patient and dedicate a full day if possible. There’s a café and food area if you want to take a break during your visit. Definitely recommend it! I’d love to come back and get even more lost in the details.

Absolutely one of the best attractions in Hamburg — and honestly, one of the most impressive exhibits I’ve ever seen. Miniatur Wunderland is massive and filled with astonishing detail. Most Germanic (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) countries and regions have their own area, complete with moving trains, planes, ships, lights, and tiny human stories happening everywhere you look. You could easily spend 3–4 hours here and still not catch everything. It’s not just for model train fans — it’s for anyone who appreciates creativity, craftsmanship, and a bit of magic. The nighttime lighting effects, airports, and little surprises hidden throughout make it incredibly fun for both kids and adults. It can get crowded, so I recommend booking a time slot early in the morning or later in the evening if you can. There’s a café inside with good snacks and drinks for a quick break between sections. Truly a must-see — whether you’re visiting Hamburg for a day or a week, Miniatur Wunderland is worth every minute.

Fantastic venue. Everything feels grounded and made by people who know what visitors will want to have or need. The exhibition itself is spectacular. Lots of details and stories are told ... Sometimes very hidden. Food is fine. Okay price. Reminded me of IKEA. There could be more washrooms. Also, the regular ticket isn't valid for reentry. That's a bit of a bummer since opening hours are until 1am.

Wanted to see this for years and now I've ticked it iff my bucket list! This is hands down the BEST minature railway and car layout you'll ever see! So much to see, you can easily spend all day here! Don't bring the missus, that will only reduce your fun! Definitely get tickets in advance, they sell out quick!

Its easy to see why this is fast becoming the top attraction in Hamburg. Its so much fun and that's consistent with everyone whonis wondering about around you. So much detail that ypu definitely need a visit to the bistro to allow your eyes and brain to catch up. Fantastic day out for everyone. Go. You will be talking about it for a while to come.

As a model railway enthusiast, I have been looking forward to coming to Hamburg to visit Miniatur Wunderland and the truth is that it worth it! I was delighted with the visit and I want to congratulate the whole team for all the impressive work that goes into every part of the model! The technique, the operation, the quality of the details, I love everything in general, especially the airport!! I also really enjoyed being able to eat in the Miniatur Wunderland restaurant. I am sure that in the future I will definitely visit this wonderful place again!

there was a festival at the day I arrived, so it was really crowded, full of people everywhere, but after that it was so peaceful there, the air was fresh and the water was clean, it was just so nice to sit there and enjoy the sunshine, both day and night views were so beautiful!! Hamburg is definitely one of my favorite places in Europe!

The port is just huge! We took a tour on a boat for 20€ in order to admire the majesty of the cranes and the huge ships parked on the deck being loaded by containers. There are so many things to see but you need a guide to get the full experience

Seeing water flow around is satisfying and very beautiful, Hamburg was such a good experience. Go to the elbphilharmonie and watch the beautiful view of the port of Hamburg and entrance is free, if you have kids you can use the lift, if you boat trip at night is a bonus and costs around 20€, then a bus trip during the day also costed around 18€ for 2 hours and I must say everything was worth it

One of the most beautiful poet I have ever been. Its is so lively, you can see tons of containers, cruise ships. If you are going to Germany, make sure to add hamburg harbour in your to do list and also, have a cruise tour. Its really worth trying.

One of the favorite places for a sunday stroll. Plenty things to see. Make sure to catch the ferry 62 for a round trip on the river allowing you to see things from different perspective. Moreover there are plenty of places to eat a nice "Fischbrötchen"!

One of the biggest and most important ports in Northern Europe. A must see when in a Hamburg. Place is really cool and if you’re in luck you’ll catch 2 musicians jamming and rocking some tunes like we found. Don’t leave Hamburg without seeing it!

The Holstentor is such a wonderful landmark which luckily survived to the modern age. The inside holds a nice little museum with different themed rooms and also a rather beautiful model of the medieval city.

A must see in Lübeck and a beautiful entrance to the old town. The Museum is small but also worth a visit if you have time.

It was an excursion from MSC cruise. We didn't enter the museum but walked around the city. It was so beautiful.

Huge adventure park not too far away from Berlin. Went here with our little one and there are already ample rides for his age. Parents traveling with toddlers will still have lots of options for attractions. The Peppa Pig Land offers several choices. One doesn’t have to like Peppa Pig to enjoy the rides. I would also recommend the Food Stop inside Peppa Pig Land offering Rice Bowls etc. The staff are very friendly and food tasted delicious. We visited on a weekday so waiting times weren’t that long. But I have seen long queues in the coasters. Using the app, it was easier to navigate how to get to a specific attraction. It also shows age/height requirements, waiting times, etc. The coaster rides are very famous and there are different types on different levels so there is an option for everyone for sure. I would advise to bring your water bottle and rain coat/rain jacket atop your extra clothes. Several Food stalls are available. Book your tickets ahead online to get discounts. If ever not yet known, fyi, children celebrating their birthday get to enter for free.

I haven't been here in years. We arrived right when it opened and stayed until closing time. I was looking forward to coming here, and I was not disappointed. We had such a great time! The weather was mixed, which was good, as it meant that the crowds were not that large and the wait times were reduced. I went on every rollercoaster, and some even several times. The food was pretty good, too. I bought a few souvenirs and I must say the prices are really not that bad compared to other theme parks I have been to. I was still smiling the next day! I highly recommend a visit! I can't wait to come back! Next time, we'll stay the night.

Great experience. Great day to be here. Not too many people as school has started and summer holidays are mostly over. Wait time was between 10 and 60 minutes. Only note is that some queues were not covered which meant in sunny weather it could get quite hot. The thrill roller-coasters were amazing. The only roller-coaster I would NOT recommend is the double-loop one. Headache machine.

It is a great place to spend with the family. We visited the amusement park in the middle of the week. It was great to see it is not crowed and waiting times were between 10 to max 30min for the main attractions. It makes it really enjoyable not like other parks with super long waiting time and too many people that you hardly can breath. The restaurants inside offer various dishes and the quality was good, a bit pricey though which is normal in such a park. The only thing, some of the staff or instructor at some attractions were not really friendly. They might forgot where they work. The access to the park by car from Hamburg less than an hour was very fine. The parking space very well available. The access by public transport is a bit long though. It is a recommended place to visit. There are entertainment available for almost all ages.

It was a really quiet day when we were there so easy to get on any ride we wanted. Everything seemed in good working order although it needed a bit of freshening up after the summer season (we were there in late September). The were still plenty of options for eating and things were reasonably priced (for a theme park!). The ride staff were great and interacted with our children well (our children don’t speak German). Because it was quieter, they allowed us and others to just keep riding those rides without a line. A good day and a good experience. The only problem we had was getting into the correct carpark!

Visited Heide Park and had a fantastic day filled with fun and adrenaline. The park has a great mix of rides for all ages — from high-speed roller coasters for thrill-seekers to gentler attractions for families and younger children. The grounds are well laid out and easy to navigate, with plenty of seating areas and spots to take a break. Queues for the bigger rides can be long at peak times, but the atmosphere and excitement make the wait worthwhile. Food options are varied, with something to suit most tastes, though prices are on the higher side as expected in theme parks. Staff were friendly and kept the rides running smoothly and safely. Overall, Heide Park is a must-visit for theme park lovers in Germany. A great mix of thrills, family fun, and beautiful surroundings make it perfect for a full day out.

We came from far away especially for this park, as we had promised our little daughter. We had been here before, and she really enjoyed it and wanted to return. We entered the park, and immediately a heavy downpour began. We went into the shop at the entrance and waited for an hour. The rain didn’t stop. We approached customer service and asked to postpone our tickets to the following day — our request was denied. We waited another hour and tried, for our daughter’s sake, to continue through the park. We were soaked to the bone, and all the rides were closed. There was absolutely no way to fulfill our promise to her. Apart from walking around in the rain, there was nothing to do! I contacted customer service by email, hoping they would show some flexibility and let us enter on another day. But no — that's their policy, with no exceptions. After about two hours, with no sign of the rain stopping, we simply left. The disappointment for our daughter — and for us — was indescribable. It’s truly a shame that this is how children are treated. We, the parents, pay full admission just so the kids can have fun, and the park didn’t even take this small step to accommodate us by allowing a replacement visit. What a pity!

Really beautiful castle. Courtyard is lovely to sit in as well. Live music during our visit. The Outside is quite lovely to walk around. Be sure to check out the gardens!

What a beautiful castle. We didn’t have time to view inside unfortunately, but the surrounding landscape and grounds were magnificent. This is definitely worth visiting, as too, the town itself. Very picturesque.

The castle was majestic and there were just the right number of people on a weekend. There was no queue to get the tickets on the day we went and we also managed to get a guided English tour. While we waited for the tour, we walked to the restaurant (called the Orangerie) which was in a very picturesque courtyard with a sea view. Our tour guide was very informative and gave us a lot of interesting facts and insight into the life of royalty during that Era. Not all the rooms were open for public viewing, as many were being used for the regional parliament. But the ones that were open, were really beautiful and were maintained very well. Definitely worth a visit!

Beautiful Castle! However quite a lot of people there. The Tour is great and you can also borrow a chair so you can sit at all times. The Corridors are sometimes very narrow and some Tour guides are speaking rather quietly (for me personally was it not too bad, however for some people [especially older] was it a problem) so you can’t stand too far away from them. Overall a great place!!!

The architecture and golden domes are incredible. The beautiful gardens and the views from the bridge is really good.

Absolutely stunning on the outside... Self-guided tour... which is definitely handy when visiting with children. Although I was slightly disappointed by how limited the tour proved to be, in comparison with the size of the castle itself. There are also lifts and I noticed a wheelchair lift at a small staircase towards the end of our tour, so I suspect it has good or at least decent accessibility, as well. Place is fairly busy in general... so, crowded, but because it's a big place, it didn't feel overcrowded.

Visiting Schwerin Castle felt like stepping straight into a fairytale. Surrounded by a shimmering lake and beautifully kept gardens, the castle looks magical from every angle. The architecture is breathtaking, with its golden domes and towers rising proudly above the water. Definitely a must-see if you’re in northern Germany – whether for the history, the scenery, or simply the fairytale charm. 🏰

If you are into cars and the automotive industry then this place is for you, it has a good playground for the little ones and for food you have restaurants and a bakery. It’s near the railway station and they have a huge parking lot that doesn’t cost that much. It’s worth the visit though you’ll a good chunk of the day to cover everything.

If it is your first time you will love it. The car museum is so nice If it is your second time it is the same. I have been here in 2018 and only things that changed were the sliders for the kids/adukts near the 4 chimney and of course there are new car models but... not so much change. You pay 20€ to see the cars and touch the production ones like in a regular car store.

Museum had a good range of cars from many manufacturers. The train tour around the factory was fantastic very immersive with a lot of information and interesting detail. The team were very accommodating we had been stuck in traffic so had missed the English speaking tour however, they went out of there way to give us an English spoken tour of the factor of the factory separate to the scheduled German tour. Many thanks to the team for a great experience 👍🏻

I found the staff to be amiable and courteous, and the environment to be organized, systematic, and well-maintained. I thought the ticket price was a bit high for what it had to offer, as I usually visit much bigger museums for that price. But this opinion comes from someone who doesn't know much about cars. If you know a lot about cars and are passionate about them, this will be your paradise. It is close to Hanover and a great place to spend a day with the kids.

Visiting the Autostadt in Wolfsburg was such a great experience! The whole place is beautifully designed, clean, and very well organized. From the impressive car pavilions to the museum and the factory view, everything showcases the history and future of Volkswagen in a fun and interactive way. I especially enjoyed the variety of exhibitions and how much attention to detail there is throughout the park. Definitely worth visiting if you’re a car enthusiast or just want a unique cultural experience in Germany!

It's an interesting nad knowledge base learning tour not only VW but other car manufacturers, Tour and Tower & VW Factory tour worth attention and a visit. Lovely architecture building bauhaus design.
