One of the visual landmarks that watch over Provence. For cycling enthusiasts, climbing to the top is a once-in-a-lifetime goal. For those with sporty inclinations, the ascent can be approached both on foot (there are marked routes) and by bicycle. This time, we went up by car starting from Malaucenne. Numerous cyclists on the road, of all ages, to whom drivers must be cautious and offer them the necessary courtesy in traffic. I was impressed by several mountain running enthusiasts I met along the way. The scenery is superb, especially in the alpine hollow area, where the view is absolutely gorgeous at 360 degrees. Pay attention to the weather because, at the top, weather conditions can change radically in a few minutes. Even though it was hot down in the valley (34-36 C), up on the peak, it was only 20-21, and the cold wind was blowing hard. Have a jacket ready, too. Don't forget your supplies as upstairs there is only a souvenir shop and a small bar with a relatively limited offer. Even if you only have one day to visit Provence, if the weather is excellent and the sky is clear, I recommend starting the day with the ascent of Mont Ventoux and then checking off a few other unmissable places: Gordes, Roussilo on, Abbaye de Sennanque, Chateaxuneuf du Pape , Avignon.

You can’t help but feel it’s a cyclists mountain and large amounts of guilt plus ‘hats off’ to all cyclists who make it to the top. Don’t forget a nod to Tom Simpson’s monument near the top. Do read ‘Put me back on my bike’ by William Fotheringhay about his life.

Wow! Busier than expected as there in Mid September, but the weather was good, so maybe not surprising.

Beautiful drive up and great views. We walked along the sheep paths at the top for a km and got great pictures.

Nice flow through the park. Super clean. Mostly indoors and a lovely children's outdoor play area towards the end. Gift store is also lovely but very very expensive.

Perfect day out! We went with no expectations, even in our 20s we had such a blast. So many animals to see, it was a beautiful, well designed layout that kept us entertained for almost two hours. The animals look well taken care of, we had a lot of fun in particular trying to spot/count as many pythons as we could. We loved it so much we told our parents to reroute so they could come see it too (and they also loved it!). We’d honestly go again if we’re ever back in the area.

Great activity with the kids This is a great place to come too with the family. We always stop in the Ferme des Crocodiles. They have many animals and they really seem to take good care of them. It is a great day out. The animals are in a nice habitats. The people who work here know a lot about them and seem quite eager to help & answer the kids questions which is really nice. The price seemed pretty fair to us. No issue there we stayed quite a few hours. Highly recommended!

Very interesting for children. There are multiple playgrounds inside, too. It is a great visit. The only thing I would take care of is the vending machine that took our money twice without giving is the water we needed in the very hot weather.

A really cool and fun day out. There are A LOT of animals in nice habitats. The staff is open to question and seem to know a fair bit. The entrance price is a bit high but the care for these animals is expensive and in total we stayed 3,5 hours so it was totally worth it.

It’s a wow place for sure. It starts with a small room with a few of animals. I thought that it would be the same but when you open the second door you are in a tropical forest! It’s so impressive. There are more than 350 crocodiles, many birds, snakes, turtles. The staff conduct small performances feeding animals and explaining interesting moments about reptiles and birds. There are a lot of exotic species and plants including coffee and cocoa! It’s pretty expensive- 19 euros per person - but it’s worth it for sure.

Awesome and thorough park for crocodiles , turtles and other animals! It’s tricky in hot weather though - the frost third of the park is pretty stuffy and humid (naturally for the animals) but could use better ventilation or some fans for the humans. I had to leave my family early because it made me nauseous :( The main attractions really only start about 1/3-1/2 way through the visit so you kind of need to push through the beginning quickly. The playground area by the restaurant was cool and there were a few decent options for food. A lot of junk though (cookies, donuts, candy, etc) so it’s better to pack a picnic for smaller kids. Otherwise it was a great outing for our mixed group with kids ranging from 2-16.

Amazing place! Friendly and attentive personnel. Well structured and of a good quality audio guide. The drawings on the walls are very well done and storytelling. With a good weather we could also enjoy the open air animation with the Indian houses and their life attributes. And the panoramic video about the history of life attributes the Earth was breathtaking! I really recommend this place for visiting!

Amazing reconstruction of an amazing discovery. Mind blowing story and fantastic representation with an Underground accessible experience. A true wonder of the world. The cafe was delicious and gourmet and the food was so beautiful and made with pride. Delicious!

Really interesting and magnificently presented facsimile of some of the earliest human art - that is to say, cave paintings from more than 20,000 years ago (you can’t visit the original for obvious reasons). The headsets for the main cave are available in several languages, then the additional areas provide interesting background information.

Absolutely worth a visit!!! Great museum, displays & animation. Detailed replica of the oldest known to man unique caves discovered in 1994.

A fantastic and interactive experience, great for kids and adults to experience life 38,000 years ago and a great explanation of the fascinating science they used to date & discover the original site. The reconstruction of the cave is truly impressive. Everything is accessible for wheelchair user. The displays are all in French and English and the food in restaurant is excellent and good value for money.

Just perfect! Absolutely peerless copy of Chauvet - you feel you are there. The tour is great - thought provoking and wild! It is SO worth the entrance fee - we were blown away!!

Do NOT go up this on a hot sunny day. It’s a glass ball that collects solar gain and is like a sauna. There is no window so the sphere is stifling and it’s difficult to breathe. Fortunately it’s a short ride. Don’t do this if you are claustrophobic.

A brilliant way to see Grenoble, even better at the Citadel at the top.

I loved the cable car ride and the nice view that you get. Although the ride is for very short duration, riding it by using day tourist pass is affordable. The view from the hill top is very nice and one can see the entire Grenoble and the snow covered (partly/fully depending on weather) hills. There is a nice meandering jogging way down. If you have time definitely try it to get a different type of hiking experience in the city .

Surprisingly for a Monday there was quite a queue for tickets. Each cable car bubble is pretty small so it felt a bit crowded but always safe. At the top there are great views of the mountains and the city of Grenoble. A few caves to visit too.

Worth the trip up to see this historical city. Make sure you walk down to see so much more. The steps were best unless you have hiking shoes, as the Rick's in the road are sharp.

Excellent and educational time spent at this Chocolate Museum. We were signed up for a chocolate and wine tasting which took place in a classroom with both a wine and chocolate expert. Learned so much about the different kinds and qualities of the chocolate they produce. Each piece was paired with a complementary wine. A GREAT experience. The museum itself is easy to walk through and understand - highly recommend this experience for chocolate lovers (my bride) and not-so-much chocolate lovers like me.

I had the most wonderful experience at La Cité du Chocolat Valrhona. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the history and craftsmanship that Valrhona is known for worldwide. The exhibits are interactive, educational, and full of surprises — perfect whether you’re a chocolate lover or just curious about the journey from cacao bean to finished creation. The highlight for me was the tasting experience. Pairing Valrhona’s incredible chocolates with wines from Cave de Tain was unforgettable — a perfect balance that truly reflects the richness of the Rhône Valley. This is more than a visit; it’s a celebration of heritage, flavor, and passion. Absolutely worth the stop if you’re in the region.

Visited the shop after reading about the chocolate and seeing some of the reviews. The chocolate is lovely and the chocolate shop is well laid out. Samples are available to help you choose although they are so tasty that they may make your choice even harder. We selected a cross range of the individual chocolates from behind the counter after sampling some on the way in. The young lady who assisted us from behind the counter was so friendly and knowledgeable. She made suggestions and allowed us plenty of time to choose. Fabulous experience. Hubby waited outside with our dog , having noticed this the lady at the shop reception counter (providing some samples) went out to give him a sample. The chocolate is Devine the shop was lovely and the staff are even better.

One of the worst experiences i have ever had, totally not worth it. The entrance fees should be 2 euros maximum not 40 euros for a small family with absolutely no return, and the prices in the boutique is over rated. Other than the long journey, it was a total waste of money and time.

Pretty cool chocolate museum. It's modern and high tech. There's interactive videos and emersive displays. You also get chocolate samples so you can learn what real quality chocolate tastes like. My only complaint is that now other chocolates will always be waxy inferior chocolate compared to Valrhona chocolate.

Tip: Bring a bag! Really fun and educational chocolate ‘factory’ with lots of chocolates as free giveaway. A bit smaller than other chocolate factory. But all of the animations and techs were working well. Can get a bit busy as the screens were interactive whilst sampling chocolates. Kids get a special ‘treasure’ hunt quest and free gift at the end! There’s also a little quiet playroom at the end of the visit just before the cafe - for those who wish to have a little quiet time.

If you enjoy a good piece of chocolate, the museum is definitely worth a visit! The place is rather small, but there is definitely a lot to read and discover, also for children! Make sure to be ready for some tastings and don't miss out on the staff's presentations! It was very enjoyable :)

One of those places you come upon and it blows you away. The creation of a magnificent structure over 33years by a postman which leaves its legacy for others to see. His quaint messages for life are significant in today's world

Very interesting surreal place to visit and explore. There are lots of intricate and whimsical details to look at and enjoy. It's really cool to see one person's dedication to building something that he dreamt about and put his life efforts into.

Le Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval, or the Ideal palace of postman Cheval. This place is a hidden gem of the art i like. Do you like Escher, Dali, and Gaudi? Then you will enjoy this 'Palace'. Don't be fooled, though. It's not that big or will keep you interested for an entire day, but it is a must-see if you are in the neighborhood.

Cool castle made of polished stones, worth a detour. A colossal solo work of 33 years by the horse mail man.

sadly no dog allowed (would be enough if they could go to the garden, but not inside the castle). small, today was a bit overcrowded, despite a weekday, but interesting place. the shop is disappointing, I didn't find anything ehat I liked and I buy usually in these shops something. buy your ticket in advance, so you get in quicker. enough free parking slots.

Very beautiful, naive art is awesome. It is a fantasy place, a place which shows, that all the dream can come true.

Er had a very good time in Walibi Rhone-Alpes. The rides are good. The new ride Mahuka ist awesome. The new water-play area is nicely designed with a lot of nice details. I loved the effort in the details of the new area and ride. The other rides in the park makes also a lot of fun. Only the Show LE POUVOIR DE GAÏA do not fit in the entertainment Level with the park. The actors and stuntman are good in their jobs, but the show and story was for kids. There’s a few nice effects and two major stunts, but that’s all. There’s also a few fight choreographies that I saw in other parks better, and to many chatting. And only one Charakter speaks live. I know that shows with these concept runs better, but the entertainment is suffers under these conditions. And the stage is awesome, there so many options to bring that show to a new level of entertainment with the crew and the stage. Please use the chance. All the Employees, at the entrance, the security, in the Shops and at the attractions are very friendly. The Park was not busy at the day but the employees are fast at the attractions so we had only a few minutes to wait. It is nice to see, that the employees working fast at rollercoasters leading to a high guest throughput. As I said, the show-crew is good, but the show must more entertain adults and must have more action.

We visited the park on a mid-week day in August. Overall, it was fun — a bit crowded, but still manageable. Several rides offer a single-rider line, which can significantly reduce wait times. It’s also a good idea to follow the advertised wait times for each ride and plan accordingly. We purchased a ticket that included lunch, which was a nice option and worth it. However, there were a few drawbacks: some rides only open around midday, which is unfortunate, especially on busy days. The weather was hot, but there wasn’t enough shade throughout the park, and there were too few water fountains available for refilling bottles.

Nice amusement park with a good variation of attractions. Several attractions for the small children (also a great water play park), and also nice roal coasters for the dare devils.

Amazing park, extremely high quality coasters. Very friendly staff! The rides are unique and all of them are special and much more intense than the ones at other and bigger theme parks. All of them are unique and you have the possibility to try 3 completely different ride experiences, one of them being an incredibly smooth Vekoma Boomerang.

As I visited almost 200 theme parks Walibi Rhone-Alpes is one of my all time favorite theme parks. I visited it for the fist time two years back with roller coaster club and I was amazed by everything right after I entered the park. I was curious if my impression will be the same when I travelled alone this time. And it was even better. Very friendly staff was giving me small talk on security check, at Mystic station and even Mahuka station. Just because I was wearing my Walibi Holland T-shirt. The park is not big, everything feels very close. The park does not focuse on quatity or size/scale but on quality which I am a huge fan of. Food is delicious. High dive show is very impressive. Theming around Mahuka and Mystic is phenomenal. This park know where to invest and how to run park well. Parking is included in your admission. Number one park in France. No discussion. Highly recommended. Thank you very much for having me. :)

Walibi Rhône-Alpes is a small but beautiful theme park that has flourished in the past few years. The addition of Mystic in 2019 put this park on the map, and the new for 2024 Mahuka gave it a well-rounded ride lineup. Although this park seems to cater more towards families, you can have a lot of fun here as a thrill seeker. Getting to the park with a car is fine, as long as you don't get stuck with some of the closed roads in the area. Getting here with public transport is seemingly impossible, but the parking is free. The park is clean and tidy and has three little themed areas that you can explore. The theming is not out of this world, but I did really like the uniqueness of the Mystic area. The rides are unexpectedly good. Mystic is smooth and fun, although the wait can get annoying when they run it on one train. Mahuka is amazing fun and also has a great capacity considering the trains only hold 9 people. The baggage system is unconventional, but it worked. I also really liked the offering of the Mahuka pass, which was limited to one per person per day so that everyone could have the chance to experience this ride at least once. The only problem I had with this park was the food. There is a beautiful almost restaurant just outside Mystic and we should have just eaten there. Instead, we got some chicken tenders with fries, and those weren't great. This is still an amazing park, and the low height requirements make it perfect for aspiring thrill seekers. I am excited to see what the future holds for Walibi Rhône-Alpes.

I recently visited this amusement park, and I have to say it was one of the most disappointing experiences I've ever had. The roller coaster queues were absolutely ridiculous—over 1.5 hours for a ride that lasted only 3 minutes! It's hard to believe that in this day and age, a theme park can't manage its lines better. To make matters worse, we noticed that some of the seats were marked as "disabled," which seemed like a lazy excuse for lack of proper maintenance. It gave the impression that the park is more focused on profits than on providing a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Speaking of profits, the fast track tickets for over €7 per ride felt like an outright scam, exploiting the long wait times instead of addressing the underlying issues. It’s frustrating to see a park take advantage of its visitors like that. When we finally got hungry and decided to grab a bite, the situation only got worse. The lines for the fast food restaurants were just as long—about an hour wait for some of the worst cheeseburgers I've ever had. They were cold, seemed precooked, and honestly tasted like they had been sitting in a fridge for days. I've had better quality food at gas stations! To top it all off, the security personnel were rude and unhelpful when we had a simple question. It was clear that customer service was not a priority for them. Overall, I left the park feeling frustrated and cheated. With such long waits, poor food quality, and a lack of courteous staff, I cannot recommend this amusement park to anyone looking for a fun day out. Save your money and go somewhere that values its guests!

Safari is best part! You can spend whole day with kids here. Each part of the zoo is worth to visit. Super clean and all the animals are healthy. It shows they are really good in their job. Great place to visit once.

Wow Safari Peaugres is a fantastic destination, especially for families. We had a wonderful time exploring the park — it’s well-designed, spacious, and offers a unique opportunity to observe animals up close in a semi-wild environment. One of the highlights was being able to drive through the safari section in our own car. Watching animals like zebras, giraffes, and ostriches roaming freely just a few feet away was an unforgettable experience. The park is very well-managed, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They ensured everything was safe and easy to navigate. Even without a car, the rest of the park offers plenty to see on foot, including impressive enclosures for lions, bears, and other wild animals. The walking trails are clearly marked, and there are informative signs about the animals, which make it both fun and educational for kids and adults alike. What we appreciated most was the thoughtful layout and the effort taken to provide a natural habitat for the animals. Clean facilities, well-placed rest areas, and food options made the whole visit comfortable. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would highly recommend Wow Safari Peaugres to anyone looking for a fun and enriching day out — with or without a car!

Great place with children. My 7 year old daughter had fun. Car safari took an hour. Moderately crowded for the weekend but manageable. The safari on foot is huge so takes around 4/5 hours to complete with the Animals kept in their natural habitats. A few food and drink options but be prepared to queue.

A renowned zoo located in Peaugres, this area is one of the largest safari parks in EU and is home of over thousands animals from various species. People can discover the park by car or on foot to see animals like elephants, lions, giraffes and more. It also offers educational activities for children.

The parc was very nice. A lot of animals to see. In the zoo we loved the mansion with the bats and stuff and we loved the part with the lions and tigers. The safari part of the parc, was great to see too. One of the beats stood up against our car. Luckily no damage, so it was nice to see it so upclose. It was nice that you could park your car in the shade underneath the solarpowered roof. For lunch a lot was sold out. We wanted a sandwich but ended up with chicken nuggets and fries. The waterparc was nice too. On a hot day it was nice for the kids to be able to cool down a bit.

Really enjoyed my visit here - so many interesting exhibits and things to see. I think the best part is the fact that the films referenced and the props from the films are films that are very well-known, not just random French films. Would highly recommend to people as an activity in Lyon, however my one small issue was that we bought tickets in advance but still had to line up in the same queue as everyone else, so buying a ticket in advance was fairly pointless, only decreased the price slightly. But other than that really loved it.

AMAZING! I think should be a must do when you visit Lyon with kids or just if you like movies and a different type of art. They have created incredible mini and real size scenes from movies and normal life things! A different way to know history as well! We went without tickets and ending paying less because they have a family packet. If you are 2 adults and one or more kids, it is definitely cheaper.

Worth visiting. You should go and see everything they placed in the museum. At first we enjoyed the props & artifacts from famous movies. However what we liked most is the miniature room, carefully detailed and amazinggg

Incredible and unique museum. They have some really cool pieces from films, which are still interesting to look at even if you haven’t seen them. The miniature section was a good surprise also—they are so detailed and realistic! While it is a bit on the more expensive side, it’s worth it and it is an independent business.

Walking through this museum felt like stepping straight back into my childhood (I was born in the mid-80s), and it was nothing short of magical. From Star Wars to Batman 1989, from Aliens to Beetlejuice, the collection is packed with iconic treasures that instantly spark memories of the films that defined an era. According to one of the staff, the Darth Vader mask here is the only original one on public display today, that alone is worth the visit! What sets this place apart is how personal it feels. I love the great art museums of France, but this was different, so much more relatable. Every piece triggered a wave of nostalgia, reminding me of movies I adored and had nearly forgotten, and reigniting the sense of wonder that first made me fall in love with cinema. These films came from the golden age of moviemaking, where practical effects and early CGI blended to create timeless magic that today’s movies rarely capture. Seven floors are filled with cinematic history, and while you can see it all in about 1–2 hours, it’s the kind of place where you’ll want to linger at your favorites. For me, highlights included the Darth Vader helmet, the full Batman 1989 suit and vehicles, the wonderfully complete Beetlejuice exhibit, and the jaw-dropping animatronic Alien that makes you feel like you’re right on set. Seeing Thor’s hammer (Mjolnir), Iron Man’s glove, and nods to classics like Indiana Jones, Mrs. Doubtfire, Jumanji, The Mask, and even Fast & Furious only added to the thrill. If you grew up with movies from the late 80s through the early 2000s, this museum is pure nostalgia wrapped in cinema magic. It’s a time machine back to Saturday nights at the theater or trips to Blockbuster, and it will leave you smiling long after you leave. I can’t recommend it highly enough. As a bonus, all the staff that work there are friendly, knowledgeable and passionate! Update: the top floor which houses the miniatures was closed when we arrived for renovations. If this is important to you, come back when they are completed.

fantastic experience! is very interesting and fun, perfect for people who loves cinema! staff is very friendly and they speak english very well so its perfect for tourists. there is a toilette in every floor, and also a dog bowl! i enjoyed it a lot!!

As someone also work behind the magic, visiting this musuem is like a dream, from costume to props, set to figures… You can’t miss this, this is prob is the best musuem I’ve seen about cinema, movies. The visit was like a dream come true, from my fav movie Mary Poppins from 1964, to Jurassic world, kill bill to Beetlejuice, alien to Spider-Man! Last the not least, the Wes Anderson section, with some movie items and making off?! Seriously I’m so glad I come to Lyon for this!

The Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière is one of Lyon’s most iconic landmarks, visible from almost anywhere in the city. Personally, I usually find the interiors of Orthodox churches more spiritual, but this basilica’s interior really amazed me — it’s beautiful and inspiring. The exterior is just as impressive, and the panoramic view over Lyon from the top is fantastic. You can get there easily by tram, or hike up if you prefer (which I’d also recommend). Nearby, the Roman Theatre and archaeological site are free to visit and very well preserved. Both the basilica and the ruins are definitely worth seeing.

Arriving late evening in Lyon, our Uber driver took us here on a quick detour to our hotel ‘because it is so very beautiful, and you guys can see view of Lyon skyline from there’. Indeed it was a beautiful Basilica, majestic even in the dark of night. Indeed it was an impressive view of Lyon. Very grateful of him, blessed his soul. I got the chance to go back the next morning, and although did not got the chance to go inside, my appreciation grew even more about the opportunity to visit. A must go when you are in Lyon. If your hotel is not nearby, they have tram from the city center that stops directly in front.

Beautifully located on top of a hill, and Best to take an Uber to get there. There is also a vista point on the side of the church with great views of the whole city. If you can walk down the hill, you can visit a nice museum with an outdoor Greek theatre. You can also take a short cut and walk the stairs down the hill

Lovely place to visit in Lyon. Get a day ticket for € 6.90 and couple of trains later you are there. Beautiful views of the city (sunset as well). Basilica is amazing. Don't compare it with Vatican however it is grand in its own way.

It is a marvelous place to visit even when you are not Christian. The interior of the basilica Notre-Dame of Fourvière in Lyon, is tremendously high. The walls are astonishing and it drops your mouth down to the floor. I have not taken many pictures inside because my eyes were focused on all the tiny details in each stunning things my eyes would lay eyes on. If one thing to visit in Lyon, it clearly is there and Paul Bocuse Market^^.

What a beautiful basilica one has the pleasure to see, adore and to participate because during our vist a mass was held. The church has an endless history to show, not only in the holy Christian sense but also in its rich architectural designs. A real treat to be there.

Until you take your breath away, what an impressive basilica it is. A great architectural construction. It is definitely worth a visit. And to pray in peace. May St. Mary be vigilant.

Nice place to with family and friends..You must be early to visit all,bcoz it's a wide big place. We been last 19 April 2025.

The food is realy horrible. Vegetables taste bad, nearly pureed. Pasta was hard (burned) burgers were dry, hardly any Meat on them and french Fries are extra. Le comptoir des colibris is as bad as the park is good. Bring your own food and enjoy the beautifull park

Generally a beautiful park, very green and nicely designed when it comes down to aesthetics and topics. Parking was easy and well managed. Loads of staff trying to fill the parking lot in a way that makes sense, friendly and clear in their expressions. As with any park, there is a lot of walking involved and especially for small kids you'll need to be prepared to bring a pushchair. The toilets were absolutely yucky. I was only in the men's toilets, but it smells of wee everywhere, you're literally walking in it, the whole floor is covered in it. I know men can be yuk but some of those toilet I really wouldn't be surprised if they haven't been cleaned in a while or are leaking. I have never seen so much dodgy liquid on the floor. It really reeked. Some toilets have massive queues, not just the ladies', also the men's toilets. What surprised me though is, that our friends' daughters tried to get to the ladies and were trying to find a free cubical and three (!!!) ladies were so rude and pushed them out of the way. (which would be another downside, in some toilets you can literally see the cubical doors when you stand on the path). Shops/coffee and food stalls are understaffed. Particularly during high traffic periods. I.e. there was a bird show to begin in the arena and there was a massive (seriously, it was huge) queue trying to get in. There was a food/coffee stall with two windows, only one window was open. One lady was working and the first thing she said was, that she had no coffee as they ran out. When the show ended, the queue at that shop was huge, by then the second shopkeeper didn't make much of a difference. Same with the bbq restaurant we got there just before the lunch storm hit and we already had to wait about 20min to get our order and the queue started just behind the door (so really not long). By the time we finished and walked out, the queue was around the corner alongside the building, who knows how long they had to wait. One till. Having two people using the same cash machine is not really efficient. They'd need at least 3, then the queue started on the pick-up side, because the chicken needed longer cooking times. So all in all not very efficient. Two coffee machines (you get a coin at the till) but one machine had an error message in French (needed maintenance, but was still working), that many people couldn't read nor knew how to get rid of the error message. So people started queue on the other coffee machine. A few other food stalls were closed, it was a hot day, I think about 34°C. Hardly any shade anywhere. So in order to get some drinks, a couple of grown-ups had to walk through half the park to get something for the rest of the group, as we tried to find shade with the little kids. If you are not planning the visit ahead, try to avoid too sunny days. Bird show was OK. A bit disappointing that they have so much staff in that arena but then decide to just play a boring recording and then let the birds fly. Other parks actually talk about the birds and give facts about the specific birds on display, also are interactive with the crowd. Here you just sit down, a tape plays, trainers let the birds fly over your head, then they sit down in the middle of the arena and all birds walk out like in a circus good-bye. Not impressed. The range of animals is quite impressive. And beautiful birds, that seem to be kept in good conditions and clean. Butterfly house, and there was a penguin/fish area, which unfortunately was shut down and we couldn't find access to the Australian area with the kangaroos which our daughters desperately wanted to see. The only path we could find to go there seemed to be closed with a gate but no further information. It's also advisable to follow a set path. Going to see what interest you may be too chaotic and it's easy to get lost in the park. Also walking everything multiple times is suboptimal. Oh one more thing... to get out of the park: ONE (!!!) turnstile. Why they didn't just open the bloody gate is beyond me. We had to QUEUE (!!!) to leave the park. Ridiculous.

Good place to spend the day with the family. Make sure to buy your ticket ahead of time or you may be waiting in line for a long time. They are not very organized. The place is in need of renovations, bathrooms are old, dirty.

Our 3rd visit to this park. We love it. Our kids love it. My folks love it. Always something new to see. Always clean. The birds and other animals seem happy and well cared for. Saw one of the shows this time - for the first time - and it was brilliant. We will be going again on our next trip to the area.

Really loved the audio guide that gave great information but was entertaining the way it is done. Took us about an hour and a half to go through and a great picture of the non wine history in Beaune. Especially liked the pharmacie room and the presentation of every day life in those times.

This was definitely the highlight of our visit in Beaune. The building used to be a hospital for poor people and is now very well restored. Entrance fee is Euro 12 - you can book online or pay at the spot. The roof and the building itself are very beautiful but they cannot be seen from outside. You need to purchase a ticket. I am glad we did.

Great place to learn about how medicine was practices since the 15th century. Well restored and well presented. Their audio guide is an excellent teaching and learning tool, especially the “if you would like to learn more” green button.

Step back in time of old style hospital. Magnificent building with a tiled roof you can see best from inside the large courtyard. Well worth the entry fee. Booklet or headphones self audio tour are included with ticket price.

Working for a Hospice charity, I enjoyed seeing the granddad of Hospices in Beaune. This town was caring for the vulnerable from before my country was even discovered. Amazing tour and worth the ticket price to enter.

A must have seen in Beaune. Yes the roof is great. But for me the history of the very old hospital and its foundation fascinates me more. You get an audioguide, which I highly recommand. The tour is about 1 to 1,5 hours. A lot old hospital furnitures and equipment. Entrance was 12€, which is ok for such an historic place!

Historical & Legendary Cathedral This is one of the oldest Cathedrals in the world. It witnessed the crowning of Kings in the Middle Ages and was always an amazing beacon of faith for the Catholic Church. It is currently ongoing a bit of renovation but still looks fabulous. If you come to Reims you will see the Cathedral it is the absolute one and only building you need to see visit. We were also very impressed by the inside the ceilings are so high that they give you this feeling of Grandness- ABSOLUTE must see !

Extremely beautiful church! Huge and with nice information inside! They have a shop as well as some brochures for more information. It is a must for people interested in French history and Gothic architecture. You cannot miss the Marc Chagall's piece of art!

We did the roof tour. Nine euro each and very easy to book on their website. 249 steps with no stopping places so be prepared for a hike. Our tour was in French but he did a little bit in English for us. Some surprises up there which I won't spoil

Pairi Daiza is, without a doubt, my absolute favourite animal park. I visit several times a year, and every visit is pure joy. This park is truly exceptional and never stops improving and expanding. The settings and landscapes are simply breathtaking, making it a real pleasure to spend an entire day here. The park evolves with the seasons and transforms beautifully for special events such as Easter, Christmas, Carnival, Halloween, and during summer weekends, when unique evening openings until 11 PM create a magical atmosphere. Pairi Daiza is the perfect place for a family day out or a relaxing walk surrounded by nature and incredible animals. I highly recommend visiting, you won’t regret it. Moreover, the work carried out by the Pairi Daiza Foundation is meaningful and impactful, contributing greatly to animal welfare and conservation worldwide. I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to support their efforts. Pairi Daiza truly deserves its title as the most beautiful park in Europe. It is always a pleasure to spend time there, no matter the season or occasion.

The best, most beautiful and well organised zoo (despite the thousends of visitors and parking cars) I have ever visited in Europe (and I say that after Vienna, Zürich, Paris). It is not just a zoo, it is also a garden heaven, with many tematics and attractions, shows (especially at Halloween, they are open until 10 p.m.). It is very enjoyable for adults and of course for children, as well. If you have a lot of money you can also sleep here in different kinds of apartments, they are all awesome, too. The app is very helpful, you can use it like a GPS, you can also see which restaurants, kiosks are open or closed. It would be more useful, if you can see where were you already, not to skip a place. Every toilets and restaurants are also a great and different experience. I would like to come back at winter, Christmas time, as well. All the view and photos you see on the website is in real life exactly the same. Just perfect. Thank you, Piari Daiza. ❤️

Amazing wildlife parc with huge setups. Many big zones that are divided in different continents. You can cover this in a full day. We arrived at 11 am and left 7 pm. But you take your time you need more than a day to fully enjoy. Fantastic day and can’t wait to visit again

There are probably tons of reviews already calling this place one of the best parks to visit, and here I am adding one more to the list. But honestly, this isn’t just a park. It’s an experience. No matter how old you are, it’s something you won’t forget. One of the things I appreciated the most was seeing how deeply they care for every animal there. You can feel it in every corner, and it’s such a beautiful thing to witness anywhere you go. Suggestions: Plan two days to see the whole park 🙌🏻

A nice, big zoo that gives off a bit of a Tomorrowland and fairytale vibe. My recommendation: come earlier, because it’s super big! Try to visit in summer, spring, or early autumn. We didn’t even see half of the animals because many were hiding or sleeping due to the weather. But overall, it’s a really good place — definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed it here. The park was huge and we didn't get time to see everything in one day; but we picked the animals we wanted to see the most. My kids loved the Monkey Bridge (5 & 8).

An absolute must-visit! A beautiful zoo with genuine care for animal welfare. I honestly cannot think of a single negative thing to say about this park. The animals live in beautiful, spacious, and well maintained enclosures and all look healthy and well cared for. What really stood out to me is the transparency and the attention to detail. Whenever an animal has a minor issue or a visible condition, there are clear signs explaining the reason. For example, one animal was limping slightly, and the sign explained that this was due to arthritis as the animal had reached an advanced age. This is such a thoughtful initiative and shows that the animals are truly cared for. I know that some people are against zoos, but without places like Pairi Daiza, which work incredibly hard with breeding programs, care, donations, and conservation efforts. The situation for many endangered species would be far worse. This zoo makes a valuable contribution to the protection and preservation of animals, and that deserves recognition. I truly enjoyed this visit, both because of the animals and the way everything is organized. Without a doubt, this is a place I will happily return to. Highly recommended!

Truly incredible museum. An amazing collection of striking artifacts, classical statues and iconic artwork. I also was pleasantly surprised to find that only for special events/exhibitions do you need a ticket, otherwise entry is totally free to see this absolutely incredible place. An absolute MUST if you're in the area.

We used this as a pit stop while on a road trip, and it exceeded my expectations. The museum is free and enables you to see loads of incredible art. I loved the layout in the main room, with artefacts in chronological order. The information was really useful along with some fun activities for children/adults. The museum itself is not grand, but I think that adds to its appeal. What seems quite ordinary from the outside opens up into an airy and spacious blank canvas for the art to stand out against. I don't know if we could have spent too long here, which is why I have marked it down a star. However there seemed to be cafés and other paid exhibitions which you could delight yourself with. Free parking, free museum. Excellent stuff.

Beautiful Museum and absolutely worth a visit. We didn’t have to pre-book tickets as it was very empty. There is also a nice restaurant just outside the museum and a canteen inside serving salads, sandwiches and wine.

The Mona Lisa has become a cruel joke. One of the most beautiful paintings you'll see but everyone has their back to it to take selfies. So you are looking at them not the Mona Lisa. This painting dominates the experience. Advantage is you get to see Liberty Leading the People and my favourite the statue and mosaics from Persia with very little crowds. I used a guide to usher us in which cost 40e but saved about 3 hours queuing so well worth it.

France, a country notorious among travelers for its challenging reputation, turned out to be far more charming than I expected. And for me, Lille had even more appeal than Paris. If I ever return to France, there’s no question I’ll be coming back to Lille.

Lille is a beautiful city. The buildings are so architecturally stunning. Plenty to see and do on our 3 days trip. Lots of restaurants and coffee, patisseries. Yummy. Our hotel Mercure grand place was extremely good value and breakfast fabulous. Will visit again when its maybe not so hot 🥵

Absolutely gorgeous! 🥰 Very lively during the day and mesmerising at night with all the beautiful illuminations. It reminded me of Brussels in a way. It’s definitely a must when in Lille. Plenty of restaurants and cafés in its surroundings.

Amazing and spacious square where you can admire several architectural beauties of lille. It can get crowded and there are beggars and homeless people around it, so watch out for your stuff, or help if possible.

Only had an hour in Lille before heading for the ferry at Calais so of course we headed straight for the Grand Place & the surrounding streets of the Vieux-Lille to look at the buildings & soak up some Lille vibes….& it was all positive apart from one thing - the stench of the sewers :/

The areas of the town squares are nice. There are many nice decorations around and some good stores where people can buy stuff. One thing I don't like is the fact that cars are allowed to operate within the pedestrian area, with no traffic lights and no signs. Really, man? Who's dumb idea was that? People who walk and cyclists can get hurt, especially children. This stupidity was abolished in 99% of the European cities I've visited, except for Lille. Seriously... Compared to Szeged, Charleroi, Novi Sad and Timișoara, which are superior cities, Lille sucks in that case. 👎 Those are a few examples. ☝️ I've visited many cities all across Europe and Asia. Naming all of them would take 100 days. I know Lille can become good. It really needs better laws and improvements. Other than that, I see good things too. The surroundings look nice. 👍

A sombre place - 'a First World War memorial in Ypres, Belgium, dedicated to the missing British and Commonwealth soldiers who have no known grave in the Ypres Salient, with their names engraved on the walls of the memorial.' - I felt choked up approaching this place remembering my relatives that served here including my grandfather wounded at Passchendaele. We also saw groups of school kids, including some Indian students, and their teacher and a male and female student carried a wreath to lay remembering Indians who served as part of the British Empire.

I was here twice in one day, on a bus tour from brussels. Once around lunch, and then once at 7pm to stay for the 8pm last post ceremony. -Its a large "Gate" building, the functions as a road as well except at 8pm, when police close the road for the last post ceremony. The sidewalk is also roped off, you cannot cross this gate into or out of city between 7:50pm-8:20pm, by foot or car. -You can walk up the steps in the middle to the upper parts on either side, its more walls of names. -You can participate in the last post Ceremony if you have a poppy wreath similar to theirs. You can bring from home, or Buy a wreath at the "Info shop" across the road from the gate, inside the city. The man running the ceremony said they never turn away someone that wants to participate. -The last post ceremony gets busy, we arrived 1 hour before to be sure we got front row, and we did, but it does get busy. The ceremony itself is about 10min long, with a short trumpet call, then a short speech, then people walk up and put wreaths, and then trumpets again, and its over. The guide said sometimes there is more people putting wreaths, sometimes there is more speeches, sometimes more music performances, so it could take longer sometimes. Overall it was a nice memorial to the fallen soldiers

Have visited a few times before. Last time (2024) it was closed for restoration, all done now and looking great. There’s an office on site where they will help you locate the name of a lost family member. (Don’t try to read all the names or you’ll never find the one you want). If your schedule allows, stay for the Last Post ceremony, done every day. Right in the town centre of Ypres, a beautiful place to visit.

This is a must visit site in Ypres, especially at 8pm every day when the last post is played. It is remarkable that this service happens every day of the year more than 100 years after WW1, but then it remains as poignant and relevant today as ever (sadly). We attended on two consecutive nights, one night with the Honourable Artillery Company Regimental Band playing (incredible) the next with a female choral choir. Both were very moving. I estimated about 500 people attended both nights. The four or five horn players of the last post were clearly very experienced. The gate itself is a mini-museum, and it is very impactful to see the thousands of names of lost soldiers from so many countries. Really, everyone should visit this site.

The gate is a large memorial to the British Empire and Dominions troops that were killed in the Great War. It was built in the 1920s and has the names of 54,000 allied servicemen who lost their lives but have no known grave, inscribed on panels inside the building. It is sited on the road that the troops used to march along to reach the nearby Ypres salient, scene of fighting for pretty much the entire war. It is also where the famous Last Post ceremony takes place. We read the CWGC information boards and saw the information on the hill next to the gate and then we walked through the galleries with the names of the fallen before joining the crowds to listen to the ceremony. I was surprised at how busy it was and the ceremony itself lasted about 15 minutes but the colonnade was full 45 minutes before it started. It was a lovely ceremony with the Last Post and then two songs sung by St Anthony's Catholic Girl School from Market Weighton.

A must see experience. Lots of emotions. Make up your own mind as to a celebration of war or a monument against it! A waste of human life for a just cause or maybe a monument against war. A lesson from history about the waste of war and its leaders who send men to there death! Looking at the world at the moment, have we learned? But to those who lost their lives a very moving monument.

Definitely worth a visit. Some interactive information. A number of short video presentations, either in English of with subtitles. Displays of WWI uniforms, munitions etc. Cafe and toilets on ground floor. Option to visit the bell tower, quite a number of steps, but even on a dull rainy day worth the visit.

There is a small theater to hear real stories from nurses during the war -Souvenir and book shop at the end of the tour. -The museum is in the largest building in town, the old town hall, so you cant miss it. -There was also a small flea/garage sale going on right outside of it. People selling random things. There was one or 2 selling war artifacts, not sure it authentic.

One of the main museums, if not the main museum one can visit when retracing the Western Front and the WW1 trail. Located within a splendid building in the centre of Ypres. The museum is immersive with key station points for your audio guide to be activated, a very clever poppy band that also activated key points throughout the museum. Lots of videos of reenactments, great displays and lots of key information that can even make one who may know a lot, to think further. Very accessible and decently priced.

Great museum focusing on WW1 and the surrounding battles. Take advantage of the opportunity to climb to the top of the bell tower during your visit. Allow at least 2 hours for a comprehensive visit. There is also a small cafe and well stocked book shop. Parking is usually available in the public square outside.

Excellent museum with lots of interactive displays and videos. A brilliant telling of the experiences of the solders and civilians in the Ypres salient during the First World War. Very powerful and moving. All contained in the fabulous building rebuilt after the war.

I visited for two main reasons. First is that my Great Grandfather was a gunner with the RGA in the 3rd Battle of Ypres and not only was it a miracle that he survived but also the diary he kept of his experiences, which is a moving read. After transcribing this a few years ago, I have been researching the contents and the day I visited the museum was part of that and found it so interesting and informative. The layout is quite modern and I liked the use of videos with actors recreating the experiences, especially the medical staff. The other reason I was visiting is that my Great Uncle Charles was killed in 1915 and as he has no known grave, his name is inscribed on the nearby Menin Gate. The impact of his death, and that of his brother who was killed in action only a few weeks later, is still remembered by our family and I was also trying to find out more about his death. For both of these family members, I did manage to find out really useful additional information. Even if you are not like me and researching a specific family member, this is definitely worth visiting and is suitable for younger children with adult supervision. Our teen children found it interesting and we need to ensure the younger generation are aware of the events of 1914-18. There is an entry fee and you can pay extra for an audio tour and visit to the tower. We didn't do the latter two due to time restraints (we managed to get in for last entry time as we had had a busy day of visiting other sites which had to fit in 1 day) We hadn't pre-booked but no issues with that.

The place is impressive, and worth visiting. Adding the planetarium is a must, especially if you are visiting woth kids. I missed more information about the site itself, the visit felt more like an overview of WWII. The website is also pretty outdated and hard to navigate. Tip: bring a jacket, it is very cold inside the tunnel!!!

I didn’t know what to expect when visiting this museum — I went in completely blind, having done no prior research and only using ChatGPT to help plan my holiday itinerary. I was genuinely in awe when the huge concrete megastructure suddenly came into view as I drove into the car park. It was completely unexpected and an impressive sight to behold. The exhibits, supported by clear and informative supplementary information, made the visit both engaging and enjoyable. That said, a few areas felt a little empty, and additional displays could have further enriched what was otherwise a very well-presented museum. One highlight was the interactive tablet and headset experience, which elevated the visit and made the museum even more immersive. The on-site café was also a pleasant surprise, serving tasty food and drinks at very reasonable prices.

Took my Band of Gamers tour group here on October 2, 2023. The site was absolutely amazing. In addition to the history of the V2 program, the site also presented information on the slave labour the Nazis used to work on this complex - very sobering. In 2019 my group visited the V3 site Mymoceques but we didn't have time to come here. I'm glad we took the time to see it this time. Highly recommend.

If your near by and even have the remotest interest in history, or humanity, go. But bewarned it hits hard. Think about if taking small children is a good idea or not, there are some articles which will need to be explained, but then should be. Will never forget it.

One of the best museums I've visited. As well as the sheer scale of the WW2 remains, it also tells you why, and how, and the human toll it took to build it. The audio-visio guides are superb and show you graphically how and why it was built. A superb museum, superb and friendly staff and a museum that leaves you astounded by the sheer scale. Superb.

Its a beautiful and well preserved memory of the great and indeed insane ambitions of the Third Reich. Combine this visit with a visit to the Blockhaus or the V3 weapon and you'll see what optimism and a lot of money can do. Even though it's unfinished, you'll have a great impression of this site. The interactive tablets do a good job. Some expositions are sadly only in French and the lack of internet under earth invalidate on the fly translation apps. Pre-downloading translations helps. I'll still give it 5 stars. It will take you from 1914 well into the American space program, with a focus on WW2 in Northern France, the resistance and the eventual liberation.

Went on a Wednesday when the park was open from 10AM-10PM, and managed to get on an amazing 16 rides. Wait times were really good especially for The Ride to Happiness, with the longest queue being only 45 minutes. Food is very expensive so I recommend taking your own. Thank you to Leme at the Plopsaland Shop for being so helpful though with our visit and helping us to pick the best pin badges! Definitely will be coming back again!

Great the park. There are some great rides here. Mainly geared towards families with younger children (under 16), but you can not deny the presence of Ride To Happiness, which is clearly aimed at an older audience. Ride To Happiness is simply one of the best roller-coasters in the world, and it should be on everyone's bucket list.

I really wanted to give the park 5 stars but some things are odd. First of all, why isn’t there any signage anywhere? Second, why isn’t there any information about waiting times? We were there on a Wednesday middle of October and it was really calm, Zero to little waiting times, even at the top rollercoaster “ride to happiness”, which is awesome! Most of the attractions are definitely for smaller kids, there are basically only three thrill rides, “happiness, Anubis and Heidi”. Would I come back just for this three rides on a calm day? Definitely! Would I come back on a busy summer weekend? For sure not.

Loved this place and it really exceeded my expectations! We were staying in nearby de panne and it had a great transport link on the tram right into the theme park. Reasonably priced for the entry fee. We purchased the tickets the day before as this worked out cheaper than on the gate. This themepark has something for all the family and we were really lucky to not have long queues on the day we visited. Everyone loved Heidi and the Ride to Happiness. Lots of great food venues to choose from. Great theming throughout the park and decorated really well for Halloween. The parade was also fun and the whole day had a really fun, happy vibe! The plopsaland hotel looked lovely. Overall, a great day out and we would definitely return.

Clean and tidy but way too busy and a ridiculous access pass system for families with younger children ! Wouldn’t say this park is value for money! The one good thing at this park is the ride of happiness which is in the top 5 coasters I have done .

We had an absolutely fantastic day at Plopsaland! From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The park was beautifully clean, well-organised, and not at all busy, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, everyone we spoke to was cheerful and helpful, creating such a positive atmosphere throughout the day. One of the biggest highlights for us was “The Ride to Happiness” what an incredible rollercoaster! It’s easily one of the best rides we’ve ever been on. Thrilling, smooth, and full of surprises, we couldn’t resist going on it multiple times thanks to the short queues! Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The mix of fun attractions, friendly staff, and minimal waiting times made it a truly perfect day out. Highly recommend Plopsaland to anyone visiting Belgium, we’ll definitely be back! 🎢✨

I’ve been to this amusement park a couple of times. Overall, it’s mainly focused on small kids. The only attraction that truly stands out for adults is ‘The Ride to Happiness by Tomorrowland’— absolutely amazing and worth the visit on its own. A few downsides: queues can get really long on sunny days. Food is available at many kiosks, but it’s very basic and extremely overpriced. Parking isn’t free either. Also, expect heavy traffic when arriving and leaving the park, especially during weekends or holidays.

Beautiful long beach with lots of activities for children. Very surprised to see the majority of attractions were closed even the beach side eateries and bars. We had to walk inland to get something. Plenty of parking. Dog friendly beach is restricted to the high point of the dunes.

The day we were there was wonderful. People were flying kits, sunbathing and playing games on the beach. The sand was fine and soft, had to take off my shoes and walked on it. Compared to beaches in English, this beaches is fantastic. 🏊‍♀️

Beautiful beach! Especially the side with the dunes and the park/ forest. Town center is very cute. The only downside is finding a table in a restaurant. Make sure you make a reservation before heading to town. They have very specific times for the kitchen.

Beautiful soft and deep sand that went on for miles and miles. Very spacious. We were there early morning and basically had the beach to ourselves. We found some free parking on the residential streets a few roads down from the pay and display streets and only walked about 10 mins from car to beach. Lovely quaint restaurant/cafes and shops. And also a market selling clothes, crystals bags and food etc. Was a lovely day trip. Would recommend.

Unique premise and atmosphere here. Very grand buildings on outskirts and in surrounding forests, becoming more modern towards the seafront. Beautifully manicured areas outside of impressive hotels and apartment blocks. Rue Saint Jean is main pedestrian thoroughfare to the beach area with designer shops inland, giving way to bars and boutiques towards the seafront. Different every time we come, but always fantastic. The beach is very large and clean, with sunbeds and parasols available in season, with an adventure complex and various eateries and bars.

We visited D on a weekday during the holidays, and it was an awesome experience! The aquarium offers a wonderful opportunity to view and learn about a wide variety of sea creatures. It's both fun and educational, especially for kids. They will definitely enjoy the interactive exhibits and get a chance to gain knowledge about marine life. The display of different types of sea fishes—from colorful reef species to large predators—is truly fascinating. The environment is well-maintained and family-friendly, making it a perfect holiday outing. Highly recommended for families looking for an engaging and informative day out! Recommended to visit in the morning session to avoid the crowds.

This should definitely be on any to do list if in or around the Boulogne area. Worth the money and time we'll spent. Would recommend leaving at least 4 hours as there is plenty to see and the large tank is truly amazing. Was shocked when seeing the large manta ray emerge from the darkness for the first time. It's also very educational so would highly recommend. Will go again next time I'm in the area

The most amazing experience! 3 main exhibits, the first of which I spent more then two hours in, gazing at the largest aquarium in Europe was comfortable, spacious and signs were easily translated. Many of the staff were bilingual and so helpful! There were little spots to eat including a restaurant, clean restrooms and lockers to store your belongings. Outside the front of Nausicaa is also a lovely green area with children's play park and access to watch the sea lions! There was so much information accessible and interactive activities to keep children engaged whilst being educational. I will absolutely return here one day!

This is a beautiful aquarium with an excellent story telling about the ocean. We really enjoyed the jelly fishes , corals and the story telling. I don't fully agree with the sea lion attraction hype but they are nice. The best is the manta ray fish in the main pool which makes all the kid wonder with awe and equally so the adults. This place has a good restaurant as well and therefore don't worry about going out for food. This place takes 4.5 hrs of you would like to walk through everything.

Such a brilliant day out with the family. It is so much bigger than we were expecting. 3 different areas to look around, with so many tanks and other things to do. Lovely restaurant on site with lots of options. Would definitely recommend to anyone going to the area. 10/10. Definitely book in advance online, we were able to book the group tickets and saved a lot of money. It was very busy, with lots of school trips. We went on a Friday.

This place is truly one of the best! It offers so much more than a typical aquarium. the experience is absolutely surreal. Please note that outside food isn't allowed, but the on-site café serves both hot and cold meals. With multiple levels to explore, it's a good idea to fuel up beforehand. Be prepared for a lot of walking, so wear comfortable shoes and come ready for an adventure!

Wonderful aquarium with huge tanks, so many different species of fish and some big Stingrays and sharks and a selection of well thought it and interesting exhibits. The cafe is good too and plenty to see and do for the day, even the kids are entertained.

I visited the White Cliffs of Dover for about an hour and hiked all the way to the lighthouse — it’s a wonderful place for walking and even having a picnic, with amazing views along the way, though the smell from the ships and boats near the pier was a bit unpleasant.

The White Cliffs of Dover are absolutely breathtaking! The views are stunning, and walking along the cliffs is both peaceful and invigorating. The trails are well-maintained, and there are plenty of spots to stop and take photos. A perfect place for nature lovers, history enthusiasts. Highly recommend going early for the best views and to avoid crowds.

Lovely 30-40 min walk to get to the lighthouse. Cute cafeteria as well for a nice lunch. Lovely tourist attraction. Great if you have a national trust membership. Highly recommend.

The White Cliffs left me with an unforgettable impression. 🌅 The sunset painted the sky and cliffs in golden hues, and the sunlight seemed to bring their whiteness to life — it was pure magic. I listened to the melodic songs of birds and was delighted to spot a family of wild hares hiding among the grass. The autumn scenery around was breathtaking, and I can only imagine how even more vibrant and warm it must be in summer. My walk was filled with joy and tranquility, and I will definitely return. This place is truly iconic in England — it’s something everyone should see with their own eyes. The roads are excellent, the area is well-kept, and the cozy café with delicious cream tea and attentive staff makes the visit even more enjoyable. The White Cliffs are not just a natural landmark; they are a feeling of harmony, beauty, and a true blessing. 🏔️💖💖💖

Great coastal path from the National Trust white cliffs car park, free for members,(otherwise there's an expensive charge) you don't see a lot of the white cliffs walking this way, unless you walk down to the beaches, and they don't look as white, I think the views from a far look a lot better, but it's still a lovely walk, and you get 3 National Trust sites on your walk, Fan bay deep shelter, wanstone Gun battery and the lighthouse, so a great day 😊.

Its amazing Dover cliffs i got a few pictures the picture was taken the second time when I went Dover but the second time when I went Dover I didn't walk in the clifs I was on a ferry but the cliffs are cool its perfect for pictures

A must-see! We took the train from London, walked to the waterfront through the town — lovely architecture and friendly residents, but surprisingly, a somewhat depressed area. We made our way to the top of the cliffs via the foot path, but you may drive or take a taxi to the top, which has a visitor center and cafe. The late-afternoon August sunlight beautifully highlighted the cliffs and hills. On a clear day, you can see the cliffs of France. One visit is not enough!

Absolutely a fantastic place to visit oozing with history. The site is large so allow plenty of time. It's also hilly and within the castle there is a lot of stairs. The tunnels under the castle were fascinating especially if you have an interest in WWII. Though they date back to the late 1700s. Tours are run at regular intervals and the staff are extremely knowledgeable. All staff were helpful and nice. We were able to park on site but I imagine school holidays could cause an issue sometimes. There's is a carpack for disabled drivers much closer and on a flatter level near the castle itself. Plenty of toilets dotted around the grounds and a cafe and ice cream van as well as one serving hot drinks and snacks. Small p.ay area with climbing equipment for children. Great views over Dover and the port. Also visit the Saxon Church that is within the grounds.

Was a wonderful visit,went there with a friend of mine and we explored everything the castle had to offer. Under the castle there are some interesting tunnels with a lot of interesting stories. You will learn a bit about the war and the importance of the castle in the past. It's worth the money.

You could easily spend a whole day here visiting the various sections of the large site. Of special interest to us were the Secret War Tunnels. It is a 30-minute tour with an informed and entertaining guide. (Unfortunately no photos allowed.) There is no extra fee for the tour. It is included with your entrance fee. There is also a tour of the hospital tunnels which we didn’t have time to take but would have been interested to see. We also enjoyed seeing the castle which is furnished in replicas from the period which we didn’t expect. Again, the attendants were friendly and informed. On a nice day there are lovely picnic area to enjoy.

Travelled from Folkestone to visit the Castle on my way home to London and could have kicked myself as id left my bank card at the hotel so didn't manage to get inside the castle which was a disappointment. The grounds are stunning and the views over the harbour are exceptional.

There is so much to see here - definitely plan enough time! I would recommend buying tickets online, if you can. If not, you can drive up and park, then walk inside and purchase tickets in the gift shop in the main castle area at the top of the hill. The grounds are really well maintained and the staff is so friendly and helpful! The various tours close early, so be sure to hit them first, then tour the rest at your leisure. We started at the top, toured the tunnels, then went and did the two tours at the bottom before making the trek back up. (I would recommend this route) There is a lot of walking, so wear comfortable shoes! The views are incredible and there is so much to see. The only thing we weren’t a big fan of was the gaudy colors of the decorations in the main castle - they reminded us of a children’s play set - but that’s just our opinion. It definitely didn’t dampen the experience! There are ample restroom facilities located all around the property. It seemed like the kind of place that might be difficult to maneuver in a manual wheelchair, but we don’t use a wheelchair so there might be accommodations we didn’t see. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!

Brilliant place to visit. Be prepared to spend all day. Lots to see and do.Great tower, keep,old church and ancient lighthouse, ramparts, secret defence tunnels, wartime tunnels,various exhibitions, battlements, glorious views across Dover and the Channel. Definitely a English Heritage jewel.

Absolutely worth the visit. We were scheduled to board the ferry and had a few hours to ourselves. We visited the castle and were absolutely amazed at how much there is to see. The local guides were friendly and very informative - their knowledge, not only of the castle but general English history, is very impressive. This castle is well worth the visit.

I recently stayed overnight at Pinewood Lodge with my two kids (ages 5 and 8) and had such a great time! The lodge was cozy, the beds were nice and snuggly, and it was perfectly located for exploring the park. The kids absolutely loved the primate trail and the Dinosaur Forest, and the safari ride was a big highlight — spotting rhinos, giraffes, bison and more felt like a real adventure. They also had so much fun roasting marshmallows by the fire in the evening and next morning, which made the whole experience even more special. We really enjoyed our meal at Babydoll’s Restaurant too — great food and a lovely atmosphere to end the day. Everything was well organised, the staff were friendly and helpful, and we’ll definitely be back. A brilliant mix of wildlife, learning and fun for families!

My husband and I had a fantastic time at Port Lympne. We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights in the Sir Phillip Sassoon executive suite and it was beautiful. We had an evening meal at the Baby Doll restaurant on our first night and on our second night we had an evening meal at Bear Lodge restaurant, and breakfast was also served in Bear Lodge. The food in both restaurants was delicious. On our first day we did the Gorilla Encounter, we got to feed the gorillas from the roof top and then see them inside, following that we had a safari and on our 2nd day we did the Giraffe Encounter and got to feed the giraffes. The staff on both encounters and the guide on our safari were fantastic, very informative, very welcoming and we had the best time even the rain on our first day didn’t stop us. Having the use of a golf buggy during our stay was also a bonus. Every member of staff made us feel so welcome and nothing seemed to much trouble, we will definitely be returning in the very near future

A fantastic day out with our 16 months old. What we absolutely loved about this park was the fact that the animals had SO much room. We've never been to a zoo before where animals have been so fortunate to be placed there. When we compare it to Howletts it's night and day the animal welfare. You guys have done a brilliant job here, animals come first. Yes, you don't always see the animals, but that in my eyes is a brilliant thing, cause it means they have a more realistic habitat. The Sunday roast in the Garden room was just brilliant, couldn't reccomend this enough. The service was also fantastic. We wouldn't hesitate coming back. It's great to support a park that actually care about the animals and use the money to better not only captive animals lives, but also animals in the wild. So refreshing to see a company doing the right thing for once. One thing to note, it is VERY hilly, so having a push chair was a work out for us with steep hills etc. we were pretty shattered at the end of the day, but little one loved it!

5 stars all round, without a doubt. We stayed in Mansion House, and the room was one of the best we’ve ever experienced — waking up each morning to the sounds of tigers, lions, lemurs, and more was unbelievable. We also did the Ranger Safari with Will, who was excellent: friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what he does. The food throughout our stay was incredible, and the whole experience felt like a once-in-a-lifetime getaway. Truly unlike anything I’ve ever done before. Highly recommend.

Rhino lodge. Where to start? Staff were great checking in, we were chauffeured to our lodge by a very knowledgeable young man who was extremely chatty. The lodge was clean, everything had been thought of, like toiletries, some snacks and drinks. There were even robes and slippers for us all to use. To our children's delight there were Rhinos by the fence in the paddock so they were straight out to see them. Next stop was the safari, the guide knew everything there was to know and shared so much information. Dinner at Babydolls was excellent. We had a fire pit in the garden and marshmallows had been lift in the lodge with sticks for us. This was a lovely touch! Breakfast in the garden room was beyond expectations, the food was incredible. The highlight of our stay for the kids was our golf buggy and being able to go round the zoo after closing time and early in the morning with no crowds. Not a cheap 24 hours, but one we'll never forget!

Booked a night at the Hog Deer Creek accommodation for my partner’s birthday. Absolutely amazing experience all round. The park itself is excellent, the animals are clearly well cared for with plenty of space. The staff on site be it in the reception, concierge, facilities team, rangers or restaurants are friendly, organised and highly professional. The food was fantastic and the Giraffe Experience is definitely worth doing. The accommodation itself was immaculate. Cosy, well equipped and it was extremely fun driving around such a large well kept site in the golf buggy. 5* all round, will 100% be returning again.

This was a truly magical stay & experience, with my daughter and grandsons, aged 12 & nearly 10 both wondered why we would stay two nights surely we can do the zoo in one day !! Ummm they soon changed their minds having the best time ever and loved every minute. Breakfast at the bear lodge was delicious, BabyDolls restaurant was a favourite a more relaxed vibe for children than the Garden room restaurant which we ate at the second night, food at both was very good and wouldn’t expect anything less. I would highly recommend this stay and would definitely go back. We made memories together that we will never forget.

Dropped by Turner Contemporary during a day trip beach day to Margate and really enjoyed it. It’s free, super clean, and well looked after. I only had a quick wander before closing but it was still a really nice visit. Being right by the water is an added bonus. Worth checking out if you’re in Margate!

We spent a lovely couple of hours wandering through the galleries. All very well curated. Great for school groups. No entrance fee. Just donations requested. Small but interesting gift shop with pottery that reflects Turners key work.

I am always excited to see what's going to be on display next. The presentation is always top class with such attention to details. My daughter and I are frequent visitors.

It's free so always worth popping in if you're in Margate anyway. Quite surprised and a bit disappointed that there is literally just the one lonely Turner there. The other exhibits were a mixed bag really, two beautiful sculptures as you enter but the rest were bafflingly naive. Personal taste of course with any exhibition.

Enjoyable gallery. Airy and great light. However there is not a great deal to see. An hour and you have easily. seen everything on display. We went to see the Bridget Riley exhibition which is well layed out and displayed. Nice shop and coffee shop on site.

Always enjoy visiting the Turner no matter what the exhibition. It’s light,airy, has a great gift shop and cafe, entertainment for kids and decent toilets. We could easily spend a day here when the kids were small but now they are older it tends to be a couple of hours.

Hi all just been to the turner exhibition only one painting by him which we found unusual in the turner center lol The shell girl was good and the paintings and pictures buy the kids and teenagers of the area where good the sunken ship couldn't get my head around the chess piece where ok and the undersea world was ok .

Went on a Thursday, a week day. Large cathedral, bigger than expected. It did have some construction ongoing outside so that did affect the pictures of the building. Staff and volunteers inside were friendly and happy to tell you a lot about the history, for free. Ticket office staff also helpful explaining the differences in tickets. Very quick and easy. Cathedral probably needs two visits and definitely a tour guide to fully appreciate. There is a cafe and restaurant, and even a hotel. Toilet facilities were adequate. Good places to sit and read if you need a break also. Definitely will return.

Very impressed. More than expected. Magnificent architecture. Huge, light, airy and less dark and oppressive when compared with Westminster Abbey. Beautiful ceilings and stained glass and extensive history. Less ‘tombs’ and fortunately less busy midweek. During our visit a Chaplain addressed all visitors briefly from the pulpit, and offered a prayer, using the cathedral for it’s intended purpose as a place of worship - not a tourist attraction - as it should be. The entry fee to the Cathedral is very reasonable considering the cost of maintaining the building and overseeing visitors. We paid an additional small sum for a guided tour which was exceptional. Lucky to get a ticket. The volunteer gave us a lot of insight into the development of Christianity in the UK, the various phases of the Church during different occupations and global conflicts, the murder of Thomas Beckett in 1170 AD, the destruction of his shrine by King Henry VIII in 1538, all wrapped up with visiting the different areas of the building and outlining the many extensions and renovations over 1000 years! Wonderful learning experience.

A beautiful and peaceful place to spend the day. You can wander around the whole site taking in all of the history and story of the cathedral. There is plenty to see inside both in the crypt and the main floor. You can walk through the entire cathedral. There are places set aside for prayer and quiet contemplation. The outside areas are quiet and interesting to look at. Since the building has been cleaned on the outside you get a good feel for the surroundings and what it would have looked like when it was built. Hearing the bells on the hour was magical and seeing the places where St Thomas was murdered and the site of his tomb before it was destroyed in the reformation makes you stop and think. A fantastic day and a day of learning is never wasted. One day I will return to learn some more. Thank you.

Beautiful Cathedral inside and outside. Very well maintained. You might need two days to walk around inside and outside, lovely gardens with lots of historical information. We thought it was free to enter, but it wasn't. We brought tickets either £19 or £21.00 each (don't remember exactly) they are valid for 12 months from the day of purchase. Just as well really, we thought they opened early on Sunday mornings, but they don't they have Sunday service and they open at 12.30. We had planned to go somewhere else and couldn't wait that long. We managed to walk around inside on Saturday morning early when it was quiet. The cathedral echos when people are talking, it looses it's essence of peace and solidtude. Definitely check the opening and closing times when planning a visit, it isn't visible from the outside of the cathedral which currently has scaffolding surrounding it for maintenance work. I will definitely go back to walk around the remainder of the cathedral before our tickets expire.

Went for a short stay to see Cathedral and town. So historic and interesting. (Museum was great too...and free! ). Went to a choral evensong with the school girls choir, in the Cathedral....beautiful. Next day toured the Cathedral and amazing Crypt. Well worth the money. Walking outside to other historic sites in the Cathedral area, afterwards. We didn't book tickets,as at the beginning of November, it was not busy.

Stunning... Just walking around this magnificent building is a delight... And there's no charges. So with a beautiful cathedral and a lovely quaint town with plenty of food options you definitely cannot go wrong for a good day out..

The Cathedral is truly a jewel of medieval architecture. The town, where Charles Dickens once lived for a while, has its own magic. You can feel the atmosphere of English life, away from the hustle and bustle of London (in a certain sense, it conveyed this to me). In the winter, it comes alive with university student life, and I think the pace of daily life changes, but despite everything, it remains beautiful to visit, perhaps even better.

Lovely clean beach..big amusement centre with funfair and food shops on pier..lovely atmosphere..big ferris wheel..mini golf..excellent all inclusive wristband price which includes 5 different thing for kids including 3d encounter miningolf fun fair rides 50 free tokens and 5 arcade game rides..what more could you ask for..what a bargain value..£20 instead of £30 for a wristband when booked a day in advance online..I would suggest anyone to visit here..been here around 6 times in the past 2 years..booked caravans around here 3 times..and looking forward to coming more..also came by train with a bunch of friends..we enjoyed so much.

Great place to spend time with family and friends. Lots of entertainment, food stalls and even a pub. Or you can just walk alongside the beach and learn some history by visiting the Martello towers built during the Napoleonic wars and were part of the costal defence system

Visited Southend and Brighton Pier. Give Clacton Pier a try. Beach and pier were great, but places to eat and drink were area specific Need more small soft ice cream shops. Clean though. Recommended 👍

Beautiful clacton pier always holds avents for kids Halloween 6 weeks holidays etc… massive restaurant inside with endless fruit machine and games followed by more rides on pier outside which pushes far to the end of pier always nice to visit and walk along seafront towards Holland on sea

Absolutely fantastic. Came from Australia with my two year old and the pier kept her entertained for hours without spending any really money!

Great value all day wristband if bought in advance unlocks pretty much everything at the pier. We spent 7 hours here and had great fun. The stuff were all so friendly and added to the fun. Thank you for a great day out.
