Lighthouse Golf & Spa Resort

Hotel
Outdoor Activities
Lighthouse Golf & Spa Resort is an upscale destination with modern accommodations, a golf course, a spa, and multiple dining options. The resort offers indoor pools, jacuzzis, saunas, and a gym for guests to enjoy. It's ideal for families with children as it provides various activities during the season. Guests can also opt for an all-inclusive package that includes beach drinks and poolside service. The location offers stunning views of the pool area and the Black Sea from select rooms.
The whole place is amazing, starting from the hotel with the pool and restaurants and ending with the golf club. The spa is wonderful, too. Spacious, clean rooms, the bed extremely comfortable. I saw that the apartments on the top floor also have their own pool, wonderful. I liked that the place is very quiet and you can relax properly. We ate very well at the restaurant, I appreciated that when I told the waitress that it was my friend's birthday and asked her if she could bring dessert with a candle for him, she did so and we were happy she did that for us, very nice of her. The lady at the reception, (Mira, if I remember the name correctly) was very nice and polite. Varied breakfast (a bonus because they have champagne), the water in the pool warm and clean. We felt wonderful, everything was superlative and although we expected higher prices because it is a 5 star hotel, we found the prices at the restaurants, at the bar and at the minibar products reasonable. The only downside would be the menu at the outdoor pool bar, which could use more non-alcoholic drink options. Another minus is the fact that I found the car scratched after only one night, although I parked it close to the hotel entrance, legally. Of course this is not the hotel's fault, but since there is still a parking fee, maybe it wouldn't hurt to hire a guard or someone to direct the cars.
Despina C — Google review
Short version of the review: Would I return to this hotel - Not any time soon. Would I recommend it to anyone - No Full version: While the hotel facilities are good, in general, the hotel lacks in the service area. The food is mediocre and the "all-inclusive" services are far from a 5-star hotel. A simple example - getting a cappuccino from the lobby bar is a sad affair. If I'm a customer who would be paying the average price of the cappuccino, the barista would make it fresh on a proper coffee machine. But as an "all-inclusive" guest, my choice was limited to a coffee automat drink (the vending machine type, or the usual breakfast coffee machines). Of course, said machine was placed in the lobby bar, so the all-inclusive guests can smell the proper freshly ground coffee while drinking the machine made one with powdered milk. Additionally, bottled water is sold only. If you want water, it's either tap/filtered glass of water, or a purchased bottle. I understand there's a level of financial logic behind this but it just makes the whole experience feel cheap. The devil is in the details, as they say. I sincerely doubt, these cost-saving decisions have such a massive impact on the revenue. On a positive note, the personnel is great and helpful and do their best lessen the effects of some poor managerial decisions.

We stayed here for 2 weeks. The surroundings are really beautiful, both during the day and at night. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the nights. One night there was a birthday party, and later another celebration that lasted until late hours. I wanted to enjoy peace and relax, but sadly the resort does not match its description. Definitely do not come here if you want peace and quiet. The local elite can do whatever they want here. Also, parking costs 12 leva per day, which is quite a lot if you stay for 2 weeks. It’s a pity. It cannot be compared with the golf resort next to it. I recommend looking at the map and booking the one next door – parking is free and events are not so loud there.

Rooms are big and comfy. The litter is incredible. People are generally nice and smiley. We were room 303 and had issues with the whisky bar below. Music was very loud at midnight and we could not sleep. When calling the reception, they said it will be until 2am. Thankfully, we changed room and were able to sleep correctly. Pool very nice as but was smelling bad (poop) sometimes. Globally nice experience but could have been better, we are quite disappointed.
Julia M — Google review
Very luxurious and might exceed your expectations! The hotel is great for families but also groups of friends and teambuildings. Lots of sport activities, loved the tennis courts, and it's heaven for golf enthusiasts! The outside pool is awesome! It's heated and if you're unlucky enough to get some rainy days, you'd still be happy to feel the rain in the warm clear water ♥️ Be aware! If you are looking for a resort that's close to the beach, the hotel is way up on the coast. Still, there is a shuttle to the beach, which has a smooth entry, soft sand and also an all inclusive bar at your disposal 😏
Alin C — Google review
Initial Impression: As a snack, they served frozen cheese — not even defrosted, let alone cooked. It was cold and horrible. I couldn’t understand how this hotel had a rating above 4 stars. Later Edit: This hotel truly exceeded my expectations. The food is absolutely wonderful — I left the earlier review during lunch, but overall, the experience has been far beyond what I anticipated. The room is clean, and although breakfast and dinner are somewhat repetitive, they are exceptionally tasty and varied. The pool is perfect, with pleasantly warm water — just great. Everyone was smiling — by far the best staff I’ve encountered in 20 years of travel. I will gladly return!
Johny S — Google review
After my stays for 5 nights in lighthouse GC, I have to say i had really great and relax time. Not only for my stay and also for golf. Can be it was not peak season. But still many golfers here day to day. But it was calm and relaxing. Well managed by hotel to serve all purposes of the visitors. I do recognize the services that their service was base on my needs with kindness that i felt warm. Location wise, it was great. I did played in Black Sea Rama and Thracian Cliff. Travel was so easy and close by. However Lighthouse does offer open view and open space in the campus, which is a plus to me. Fine dinning is available in the hotel. Bluefish was charcoal grilled. Taste was excellent. Fish skin was thin and crunchy. Fish oil was well reserved in the meat. Love it. Chicken roulade was very tender and meshed sweet potato tasted very great. I miss the flavour of sweet potato a lot as it is also a common ingredient in my home country. Overall, if you are looking for easy, warm service, relaxing and cozy stay, and golfing day to day, then Lighthouse is definately for you.
Jay Y — Google review
The resort is large, with a very big golf course and 3 restaurants serving excellent food. They have 2 Presidential Apartments with private pools on the 5th floor, which are luxurious, spacious, and beautifully designed. The hotel also has a swimming pool on the ground floor for all guests.

Balchik Botanic Garden

Botanical garden
Museums
The Botanic Garden of Balchik, managed by Sofia University, boasts a diverse collection of over 2000 plant species, including a captivating array of cacti. The garden's history dates back to the 6th century when the settlement of Kruni was established around natural karst springs. Over time, it became part of the Dobruja Principality and was renamed Balchik in honor of its leader, Balik.
Price for entering is 30 lev per person, technically it's 15 but they force you to buy ticket for the castle as well. Can easily spend 4 5 hours in these beautiful garden without getting bored. Not being able to pay by card or online it is indeed something the administration need to work on. it's 2025... get with the times please 🤗

The Balchik Botanical Garden is a true paradise by the sea. Spread along the stunning Black Sea coastline, it enchants visitors with an incredible variety of flowers, exotic plants, and lush greenery from all over the world. Every path reveals new colors, fragrances, and perfectly arranged landscapes that invite you to slow down and simply enjoy the beauty around you. The sound of the waves in the background adds to the magic, making this place feel like a dream. It’s not just a garden — it’s a living piece of art, and one of the most peaceful and beautiful destinations in Bulgaria.
Ionut M — Google review
1/5 – Very Disappointing Experience at Balchik Botanic Garden- I wish i could be able to give 0 stars I have been visiting the Balchik Botanic Garden every summer for the past 8 years, but this year was extremely disappointing. Visitors are now forced to purchase two tickets—one for the Botanic Garden and one for the Castle—even if they only wish to see the Garden. This policy is unreasonable, especially since the Castle is located on the opposite side of the royal domain, and ticket checks are in place before entering the Castle. There are even separate kiosks for Garden and Castle tickets, which makes this rule even harder to understand. When I explained at the ticket counter that I wanted to visit only the Botanic Garden, I was sold the correct tickets. However, at the security checkpoint, my entry was denied. Worse, one of the guards acted aggressively, even touching me, and staff refused to refund my tickets. I was left with no option but to call the police. Only after this the staff agree to issue a refund. The police officers were professional and polite, but they themselves admitted that this type of incident happens here frequently. It is unacceptable for such a beautiful and important tourist attraction to be managed by poor management, aggressive staff, and unfair ticketing policies. I truly hope that the Ministry of Tourism of Bulgaria investigates this situation and ensures visitors are treated with respect.
Robert C — Google review
You can pay ONLY by cash and you HAVE TO BUY both tickets. Paying is at two separate places. The inside is very beautiful you can walk for hours and take nice photos. The day we went wasn't sunny and it was packed with people inside.
Rose D — Google review
Very nice garden. It calming and the seaview is just amazing. If you are couple it will be more interesting :)
Tigran G — Google review
The garden is very beautiful, it worth the price… the castle, no. You can pay only with cash the tickets and you need to buy the tickets from 2 dif places.
Vera J — Google review
Amazing garden, so much species to see, a fantastic view of the sea and so many places to go!
Denislav S — Google review
A pathetic experience… I have been to Bulgaria dozens of times so far and we were satisfied. The last time I was there was 5 years ago… We have been to the Botanical Garden and the Castle at least 6 times and we really liked it. Today, we only wanted to revisit the gardens. The people at the entrance are totally unfriendly. The prices are displayed in Leva and Euro but they only accept Leva and only cash. Although they have a POS. They don't want to use it. It reminds me of the old-timey snappers in Romania… Totally unpleasant, like you go back in time in an unpleasant way. However, I should mention that the private people in restaurants, in Balchik, etc., are very kind, you can pay with a card like in the civilized world. As for me, I am deleting Bulgaria from the list for a good while. I recommend you do the same. We should not encourage these habits.. Good day to everyone!

Queen's Winery House - Crama producător Casa Vinerei Reginei

Mentioned on

Winery
Food & Drink
If you're a wine lover, then the Queen's Winery House is a must-visit. This winery offers free tastings of various wines and rakia, which are produced in a unique manner using special ingredients such as aronia, apples, melons, and honey. The owner of the winery is not only a pleasant and informative lady but also the producer of these incredible wines. She provides invaluable information about the wine-making process.
As a step from our tour in the Balchik Palace we stopped by the winery house and it did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly and let us taste different types of wine with brief information about them and how are they served. It is hard to resist not buying a bottle after :) The assortment is great and there are wines not to be found elsewhere. The fig wine and the almond wine quickly became our favourites. Prices are quite reasonable.
Ralitsa M — Google review
Stefan helps you to find the right wine that is your favourite taste. All the wines I have tasted were delicious, there is a big choice and variety in wines, not only regular wines but also something unusual for wine such as chocolate, sour cherry, pomegranate, tomato wine, garlic wine, hot pepper wine, melon rakia and many more. It’s a very authentic place and it’s the only place in Bulgaria where you can taste such wines. It was an amazing experience for us.
D K — Google review
I was really disappointed with my experience at Balcik Queens Winery. I purchased a bottle of rose wine and a bottle of melon rachiu. The rachiu claims to be 38.5 degrees, but after testing it with an alcohol meter, it barely registered 10. I can't speak to the rose since I gifted it, but based on my experience with the rachiu, I won't be returning. Quality control seems to be an issue. Response: Hi Anna, Thanks for the prompt reply! I appreciate your concern about my “alcohol mishap.” I’ll attach a couple of photos to clear things up. One shows the melon brandy with a delightful 10° alcohol content, and the other is my homemade rachiа, clocking in at a robust 40°. Just so you know, I was the one who opened the bottle, so no mix-ups here!

Absolutely amazing winery! Their wine is unparalleled, offering the highest quality I've ever experienced. This place stands out even when compared to international wineries. Highly recommend!

Queen’s Wine Gallery in Balchik is a hidden gem worth discovering. The cozy atmosphere and diverse selection of wines make it a must-visit spot for wine enthusiasts. The knowledgeable staff and charming ambiance create an unforgettable experience. Don't miss the opportunity to indulge in a glass or two at Queen’s Wine Gallery during your visit to Balchik.
The G — Google review
An exquisite experience at the beginning of the tour. We got to try different varieties of pure wine and fruit flavoured wines (they have a mix of wine and local fruits - must try the rose and figs!). They also advise you what to try according to your tastes. Oh, and the view is amazing! You can sit here and admire the gardens and the sea.
Ana-Maria A — Google review
Free wine tasting in a historic house, worth a visit. The wine is overpriced because it's only available for purchase here. Tasted a great Pinot Noir - Syrah rose blend from 2017, but the others were less remarkable.
Matei I — Google review
A very friendly and interesting tasting experience. A family run winery with a passion for what they do. Try the garlic wine. It will surprise you. Also try the chilli, Tomato & sugarbeet wines. They were very hospitable to us having travelled all the way from New Zealand, and spoke highly of NZ wine. We left with several bottles to try.

Recreation center
Large recreational water park offering a lazy river & colorful water slides for all ages.
Nice place with a lot of trees and plants. Slides for all ages. Clean. Food and beverages are a bit too expensive.
Isabella I — Google review
If I could give 0 ⭐ I would! I don't know from where to start. Sunbeds and umbrellas were broken and very dirty. The water of the pool was green and discusting, with broken tiles. This place is not safe, there is a real chance you catch some infection. Gross moulded between the tiles, I have never seen such a dirty pool. This place is not maintained for years, they just collecting fees. Not to mention, that when my friends went to one of the slides they got stuck inside and couldn't move, as the slide was dry. One of the employees explained to them that one of the pumps is not working. Many other people got stuck as well. This is also not safe and dangerous. Really disappointed and never coming back again there.
Veneta V — Google review
Visited from 11.00 to 1700. Park wasn’t busy and there were sunbeds and umbrellas free. Went on all the adult rides a few times. On one ride got stuck in a tube and following people had to help push us down. Safety wise not good if another tyre came down. On the slide a boy got hit by somebody coming down after him. Staff not very attentive playing on their phones while watching attractions are unsafe. Staff allowing small children to go on rides below the minimum height restriction too. Totally no checks being made. Food prices were equivalent to those around the area however drink prices were high. They have paid lockers for 8 leva. Lots of people holding onto the tyres throughout the day rather than letting people have them after use. My advice is get in when the park opens and get a decent sunbed location and a tyre and make tye most of the rides over and over again while you have a tyre.
Neil D — Google review
Not worth the price if you've already been to other water parks. The Baileys iced coffee blew me away in terms of value for money.11,50€
Piotr M — Google review
The Aquapark is nice. However the rides for adults are limited and the waiting line for some rides is quite long. The kids areas are quite nice and more various than other aqua parks. Overall worths a try.
Lucian V — Google review
The children's zone was closed, the lady at the ticket office informed us and said that children up to 120 cm enter for free. Despite this, she counted a normal amount for a child below 120 cm. We only oriented after a few hours checking the bank account. We didn't have a receipt because we either didn't get it or threw him into the trash. We had an account statement, but we were not returned to the money. In addition, the offer of the slide is poor. I do not recommend.
Mariusz N — Google review
This park is amazing, it is located in Albena resort, 30min from Varna Town. We had an amazing day with the kids. Price is 43lv per adult and 20lv per child if under 120cm. Parking is very convenient and close. You have slides 🛝 and entertainment from the very little to the very biggest. Nice slides and equipment. Kids had an amazing day. I recommend 👌 👏 👍

A lot of people. Was there on August 6-th, 2025. There are only a couple of interesting rides for adults and that is why the waiting lines there are 15-25 minutes long. Single inflatable donuts were scarce. The kids were pretty happy

Dolphinarium Varna, located in the Sea Garden of Varna, Bulgaria, is a unique and futuristic attraction offering spectacular dolphin shows and opportunities for up-close interaction with these magnificent creatures. The facility features state-of-the-art amenities and knowledgeable staff providing educational experiences about dolphins and their natural habitats. Visitors can enjoy entertaining shows held in multiple languages and witness well-trained dolphins and seals performing delightful tricks.
The Dolphinarium is a great attraction in Varna for people of all ages. Doors open about 15 Min before the show. You can get in early with VIP tickets/preferred seating but I regular tickets are just fine to enjoy the show. The show lasts about 30 min that is both Bulgarian and English. It is highly entertaining and worth every penny or rather Lev :).
Evan H — Google review
As good as the show was i would never go back as the dolphins are in a small tank and never seem to have a break if the shows not on you can see them from the cafe swimming with tourists in their small tank. The tank is far too small for one dolphins let alone 5 I really hope they have somewhere else to swim and not just what we saw. Coming down the stairs we saw a tiny tank that had some seal hope that is not there home too that it was just being cleaned or something.
Chloe M — Google review
Short show duration for the price with bad sound quality to listen speak from moderator. The dolphins have small water area I think. For the price the place not too much clean. Toilets are small and dirty. For the price pro. Kid's enjoy program, but I think that for the price is service not to adequate.
Branislav M — Google review
Dolphinarium Varna is a fun and family-friendly attraction that offers a chance to see dolphins up close in an interactive and entertaining show. The facility is clean and well-maintained, with seating arranged to give everyone a good view of the performance. The dolphins are clearly well-trained and perform a variety of impressive tricks — from flips and synchronized jumps to painting and playful interactions with trainers. The staff are friendly and ensure visitors have a pleasant experience, while also emphasizing dolphin care and conservation. The show itself is about 45 minutes long — just the right duration to keep both adults and kids engaged. After the show, visitors can take photos with the dolphins (for an extra fee) or enjoy refreshments at the small café nearby.
SPA S — Google review
A great place to visit, especially for families. Absolutely worth the extra money for the VIP area as the seats are much more comfortable and well spaced, this also gives you the best views. The show is presented in Bulgarian and English, approx 45-60 mins. After the show check out the cafe with a view into the dolphin tank.
Catherine V — Google review
A great experience for children and adults. The dolphins are playful and perfectly trained- you get the feeling from the whole performance that they are enjoying the show too. A wonderful performance , definitely worth a visit, thank you!
Jane W — Google review
The whole family enjoyed it. I really recommend it. The attraction is interactive – they try to involve the audience. Wow, congratulations! Now you only need to hire a manager for the “café” and fix the reputation of this place too.
Ivan Š — Google review
Was suddenly in tears after the first few minutes, so was my wife. Don't know why, but the dolphins (which are truly extraordinary) made me very emotional, and I'm usually the most careless dude ever. The show takes about 35-40 minutes. It's amazing since it is also very interractive with the public. Price was 30bgn/adult, kids under 2 free We went for the show at 15:30. There's no parking there. You can arrive by car/cab, but you can't leave your car parked there (although there would be a few spots available in front of the dolphinarium). Please park in the Municipality Parking (13 mins away walk, 2 mins away by car).

Sea Garden in Varna is a well-known seaside park featuring beautifully landscaped gardens, promenades, and a science museum. Established in 1862, it was the first park in Varna and has since become the heart of the city, offering a vibrant space for locals and visitors to enjoy various activities. The garden boasts lush green alleys, cultural monuments, and a charming rosary by the sea.
One of the best parks I have been in! A must visit when in Varna, we were in the park for almost 8 hours! Beautiful flowers, quite, lots of green. It was quite cold for us, be prepared ;)
Tomer G — Google review
I visited it on March 14 2025, and it went back the next morning. It is the most beautiful coastal park that I have ever visited. It is about 2-km long. I am so glad that Varna has kept the prime piece of land for public access.
Hong Z — Google review
Huge park along the seaside, great for walks, sports and any activities, beautiful nature! Could be nice to have more coffee shops.
Inna B — Google review
Walk amongst nature with a view of the Black Sea and beautiful flowers and trees. Very wide walkways with room for walking, cycling and resting on the many sitting benches. Numerous plaques and monuments to honor the past and endless flowerbeds to liven up the present.
Victor O — Google review
Worth a visit to take a nice long stroll along the many foot paths. The naval museum is a good visit to see military articles from a few decades ago. DO NOT park anywhere that is not allowed (not even for a few seconds to drop of a mommy and her sleeping baby), the traffic police is quick to pounce and do not take any excuses, then your day is spoiled trying to find a place to pay the ticket. Varna city have nice beach areas and harbour but the rest reflects very much the pre-1989 era.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the most beautiful places in Varna! 🌊🌳 Sea Garden is pure happiness — full of fresh air, peaceful walks, and stunning green nature everywhere. The paths are clean and wide, perfect for walking, jogging, or biking 🚴. The view of the sea from the park is magical and refreshing, especially during sunrise or sunset 🌅. Every time I visit, I feel recharged, relaxed, and grateful for such a wonderful fresh air. Highly recommended for families, couples, or anyone who wants to enjoy nature at its best. ❤️

Don't be fooled by the car pictures into thinking that this is ONLY a car museum. There are so many household items like hygiene products, toys, musical instruments, televisions, cigarettes, desserts used and consumed by the people in those times. This museum is a travel to the past! I have to say that the price is a bit expensive.
Alper A — Google review
What a fascinating place. I wouldn't call it a museum necessarily, but the collection of cars and everyday items from the communist times in Europe (not much from Asia). If you're a fan of the history of ordinary things and people, this is the place. I probably could've spent hours here, but the air conditioning was not the best so it got a bit stuffy in there. They also play music from the era which is great for the atmosphere. The wax museum is meh, I personally would skip it. Not worth the extra money. There's also a great selection of magnets in the gift shop. I had a hard time choosing ones that I liked.
Kate — Google review
An amazing museum that takes you back in time. Growing up in the communist times sure brings back a lot of nostalgia and memories. The collection it's just amazing, all the pieces in very good condition and the atmosphere is great. Worth all the money and definitely it's a no miss attraction in Varna!
C. L — Google review
BGN 30 entry. Large collection of beautifully restored communist era cars, toys and some homewares. Sadly, the music was too loud, none of the car brand names were displayed in English (despite having car info in four languages), and many information displays were blank. There was also no history of, for example, the Soviet car industry and wether people living under communism could actually afford to own or run cars.
Mali T — Google review
Good museum, cool cars and a lot of household objects from the solviet era. Everything was clean and well taken care of, tha cars were fully restored and they had mirrors underneath so you could see the underside. The price was fair (30 leva) The giftstore was lacking a little but all in all very good museum👍👍

History Museums
The Varna Museum of Archaeology is a significant cultural institution located in the city of Varna, Bulgaria. It houses an impressive collection of ancient artifacts from the Varna area, including the renowned Gold of Varna discovered at the prehistoric archaeological site known as the Varna Necropolis. This treasure, dating back 7,000 years to the time of the Thracians, contains some of the oldest processed gold in the world.
Great place to visit and go through the history and how boarders were changing over years. It would been great to have a guide and there is a lot of information on boards that you can read. Kids were happy to learn the history through archeology
Nadiya A — Google review
I didn't have many expectations before my visit, but I must sincerely say that it is one of the best historical / archeological museums I have seen so far! Very well curated, a lot of objects on display, a lot of information (all of it in Bulgarian and translated into English). I stayed there 4 hours to really enjoy the whole permanent and temporary exhibition. Ticket price is 10 BGN. Cards accepted.
Alexander W — Google review
Great museum with lots to see inside! Our guide from the museum was excellent, she gave us a good idea of the history and customs of this beautiful country. Housed in this museum is a gold treasure from Varna Necropolis (4600-4200BC), as well as many other interesting artifacts, such as the remains of the original basilica in Varna.
Marcin S — Google review
What a magnificent place. Ten lev entry fee and a couple of hours later your brain is crammed full of the complete history of Varna and Bulgaria. Some really interesting little tales to tell and some excellent artifacts. I like all the gold! An absolute must visit!
Richard F — Google review
The most interesting museum in Varna. Absolutely recommend for visiting for everyone who will stay in Bulgaria. You can find there exhibits from paleolithic age!, exhibits from Varna Eneolith necropolis, there are two floors to explore! And of course, you can find there the most precious exhibits like golden earrings with the image of goddess Nikki from the 4th-3rd century BC.
Elena * — Google review
Verdict: museum with solid exhibit items, good narratives, well-thoughtout route and theme planning for exhibitions, up-to-date museography, complete Bulgarian-English labels and signs -- one of the few museums in Bulgaria that is able to do so. Highly recommend visiting! Details: two floors of exhibitions along very long wings in many rooms, so be prepared to walk. Ordered chronically, each room has complete English texts to introduce the origin and discovery story around the artifacts, and some particularly important or interesting artifacts have their own narratives, also in both Bulgarian and English. There are lots of archeology and historical background info to help you appreciate what you are seeing, and to grasp the long and layered history of Varna and its surrounding regions, and to get a sense of how this place has evolved over millennia. There's no map of the museum at the ticket desk or elsewhere, but the rooms are arranged and laid out clearly enough in chronical order, so just follow each room's entry and exit, then a route will emerge naturally to take you through Varna's history and every room in the museum. Some rooms may have a temporary, thematic exhibition mounted so the chronical route through rooms may be interrupted at some point (there was a temporary exhibition when we visited) but the route returns after the temporary exhibition rooms. Basically just keep walking to and from each room, and you won't miss anything. Facility is update in most rooms with minimal glare glass cases and in-case lighting. Temperature control is in-place as well, at least on the first floor. Protips: - most interesting or impressive stuff, such as craft gold pieces from 5th millennium BC, is on the first floor. - there's an inner courtyard you can hang out or chill at. - you can pay by card.
Alex S — Google review
The museum exhibits Europe’s oldest gold, found near Varna. Its inside yard is a lovely outdoor venue for festivals, such as this music event.
Ivo D — Google review
This museum is absolutely a “must see” in Varna! Yes, there are many things to see and do here, but the holdings of this museum are exceptional and it’s well worth the time to learn Varna’s history. The displays are so well done, and the artifacts themselves of high quality. You’ll start with pre-history and work through two floors to the Middle Ages. There are a number of collections: a coin collection that is world class, a stunning icon collection, and fabulous Greek, Thracian, and Roman artifacts. There’s also a very cool exhibit on underwater archaeology. You can do this museum quickly, but taking the time to read the info boards (Bulgarian and English) will provide an excellent overall history of Varna and Bulgaria. It’s a shame there were only a few of us there today! This museum is a real treasure! Just go!

Dormition of the Mother of God Cathedral

Orthodox church
Sights & Landmarks
Dormition of the Mother of God Cathedral is a stunning Orthodox cathedral in Varna, Bulgaria. With its gilded domes, ornate stained-glass windows, and numerous frescoes, it stands as one of the city's symbols. Built over 130 years ago with donations from the local community and government-issued lottery funds, it was inspired by St Petersburg's Peterhof Palace church.
While visiting Varna with my children on vacation, we took time to see the Cathedral . It’s a peaceful and nice place. We lit a candle in memory of our grandmother who passed away last year. The atmosphere was serene and filled with love. A perfect spot to reflect, pray, and teach children about family and remembrance. Varna itself is absolutely gorgeous — a blend of nature, culture, and heart.
Nadiya A — Google review
A must visit attraction in Varna city even if you are not religious. A beautiful cathedral with artwork and history worth admiring.

I was traveling around the city, when stumbled upon this beautiful monument. Snuck inside, there was some bollards on the entrance. Would not recommend to enter a church with shorts!

Lovely building and great to see on my visit Be careful with the taxis outside as some drivers try to swap Lev for Belarus Rubles (not advisable to do)

A masterpiece of sacred architecture. The sheer scale, the elegance of the details, and the overwhelming sense of peace inside made this visit unforgettable. I felt both humbled and inspired.

This beautiful church has been wonderfully restored recently. Both the exterior and the interior are remarkable. A ‘must see’ place to visit when in Varna! Highly recommended!
Phillip B — Google review
A perfect example of the local religious place where you definitely stop breathing while looking upward. Such a charming interior full of paintings, frescas and motives. Even as an atheist you can feel the deep atmosphere inside. Our little children stopped for a moment staring at the beauty. The option of purchasing a candle at the entrance door which lures for setting it on fire on behalf of your (deep/secret) wish. The entrance is free of charge, so don't hesitate to step in.

Museums
The Naval Museum in Varna, Bulgaria offers a captivating journey through the maritime historical heritage of the region. Situated at the southern edge of the Sea Garden, this museum showcases heroic military moments and individual stories of Bulgarian sailors. Visitors can explore the history of the Bulgarian military and commercial fleet through ship models, uniforms, personal items, navigational tools, anchors, torpedoes, maritime flags and other naval artifacts. The museum also features a garden displaying military hardware.
Cheap tickets and great displays. Especially on the outside you can check interesting planes and boats. And on the inside the smell of old stuff can bring back nice old memories
Rose D — Google review
Really good, thoroughly enjoyed myself. Plenty of nautical artifacts from throughout history, loads of info about the maritime history of Bulgaria and Varna's place within it. Some really interesting things to see and all the exhibits are labelled and explained in Bulgarian and English. Good for a couple of hours
Joel D — Google review
Super cool museum for anyone interested in Bulgarian naval history or just naval matters in general. Neat little military park with various ordnance and pieces of weaponry as well as a few boats. Inside there a numerous exhibits covering all aspects of Bulgaria’s naval history from Roman era, to steam power, the great wars, and the modern day. Military personnel get in free and the park is easily accessible for children and English speakers. Easy way to spend an hour!
A W — Google review
Interesting visit today to the museum of naval history in Varna. I liked the outdoor area which has some cool exhibits, Naval weaponry, boats and helicopters. The indoor part of the museum was clean and well kept and had some uniforms and other items from Bulgarias history. The Entrance ticket was around 8leva and I spent around an hour there. Also a large ship outside which is possible to tour for an extra fee but I chose not to.
Travel M — Google review
Very interesting collection of artifacts. You can pay a bit extra and go in the Druzki boat which took part in the Balkan war.
Kamelia D — Google review
Verdict: informative exhibitions, sensible route planning, but outdated museography and mediocre facility are hard to ignore. Recommended for an hour or two if you are interested in military history, naval history, or Varna and Bulgaria's coastal cities evolution. Details: one building and one garden for two sections of the museum. In the building there are 2 floors of indoor exhibitions, in the garden it's the outdoor exhibitions. Indoor focuses on Bulgarian naval history that span from Greco-Roman times to late 20th / early 21st century, with lots of historical items including photos, documents, uniforms, books, medals, naval instruments, ship models, and artifacts (e.g. swords of important personalities, lighthouse mirrors and lights from late 19th and early 20th century, flags and other insignia). About 80% of labels and board texts are also in English. The curation of items is fairly good, but the presentation -- high glare glass cases, arbitrary and inconsistent lighting, pale font that's hard to read already, then low contrast between font and background colors -- needs major improvement. Outdoor exhibitions have historical ships, helicopters, anchors, artillery, etc. laid out in the garden around the building, and you can go onboard and inside one of the ships (Druzki) there for an extra amount, 6 BGN if memory serves. The staff is professional and helpful for the most part. We spent almost 2 hours there looking at every exhibit item in the building and in the garden. The Druzki ship is rather small and desperately needs cleaning so we didn't go in. Protips: - You can pay for tickets by card. - The ticket office sells not only small souvenirs like postcards and fridge magnets, and also thematic catalogues of the museum's whole collections. If you are interested in specific niche topics in Bulgarian naval history, these catalogues would be a good starting point. - The exhibitions focus on the Bulgarian military navy, not the merchant navy, so if history of the Bulgarian merchant navy is your jam, this might not be the place. - The museum is right by the Sea Gardens, a major leisure spot for locals and tourists alike, so make sure to plan that into your itinerary to the museum.

The museum feels haphazardly put together. They damaged historical value with bad paint jobs. It's worth visiting if you keep your expectations moderate. The price is reasonable, but the saying "You get what you paid for" applies.

Sights & Landmarks
Complex Barite is a versatile destination that offers a range of amenities, including a hotel, restaurant, kids' play area, and even a small zoo with bunnies and pigeons. The expansive grounds feature lush greenery, numerous flowers, sculptures, and a small fishing area by the lake. While the food is described as delicious but slightly expensive, the service is praised as excellent.
It's a really cool place for all ages, plenty of entertainment for the kids, lovely nature around and fresh air which is difficult to find these days. The prices are acceptable.
Joe — Google review
Food is very nice, but service was slow and not organized. First they told us to sit on one table, then another waiter asked us to move to another table, overall the first 15-20 minutes no one took our order really. Other than that it is a great place for teambuildings and big noisy gatherings, big opeb space, lots of green around. Only if you're looking to have a nice, peaceful dinner - probably that ain't the best place from Friday to Sunday because around 7-8 pm the music starts blasting quite loud.
Inna S — Google review
A great traditional style restaurant in beautiful surroundings. Petting zoo for the kids and a good play area. Ample parking. Great selection of meals, salads and bread. Many nights featuring live music. Highly recommended
Catherine V — Google review
This is a nice authentic restaurant with wonderful outdoor space, playground, and beautiful views. We paid a package price for dinner, room for the night, and breakfast. Food was excellent, price was reasonable, and service was fast and friendly. They also had live music on Friday night. Sleeping accommodations were available but rooms could use some improvement. AC units are old and loud, only one towel per person is provided, which is understandable, given the fact that people usually only stay overnight. Nothing but very basic amenities like soap and shampoo is to be expected. Breakfast was also included in the package. We got a big piece of banitsa and a cup of yogurt - typical Bulgarian breakfast, and very tasty. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, and I would recommend it!

A really nice place. The complex includes a hotel part, a restaurant, a playing area for kids and also a super small zoo part (bunnies, pigeons and some more). There is a great really big yard, super green and also a small fishing area (a small lake). There are many many flowers everywhere and many sculptures as well! The food is good and really delicious, but a bit pricy! Service is excellent! Recommend it!
Yavora B — Google review
The place is very beautiful. There are pool, mini golf, animals, playground for kids. But the service is bad, all the rooms and facilities need small repairs that are not done and are spoiling the good place. For example, the AC was leaking inside the room, the water in the toilet was not stopping at all, the pool was missing tiles, mini golf had grass inside the golf fields, etc. Also the prices in the restaurant were high enough and do not correspond to the food quality and service.
Iliyan Y — Google review
Such an amazing evening! We came here for dinner (try the "parlenki") and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious, there was live music and a great view of the hills. I would definitely like to come back here and stay for a few peaceful nights. Highly recommended!

Here's the place where you may enjoy the small village atmosphere with the kids playing outside, whilst you may have a walk or just a drink. It may get busy during the weekend if the weather is nice. Good "local" food and drinks in an "old house" restaurant, but you have to be patient as the service may take a time. Few separate houses are forming the hotel site that offers simplicity and privacy...

Fantastic formation…this is just a very small piece of the whole structure, feels like you are on another planet…and something mystique is flying in the air. Much more foreign visitors than Bulgarian. The man and woman at the welcome boot are very polite, and if time available they will provide a very interesting information about the formation!
Desislav T — Google review
This place is amazing. If you go to Varna or nearby then definitely visit it. It’s so cool to walk around and try to work out what all these structures are and how they got here. They are hollow so they seem to be fossilised trees of some sort, maybe they were underwater 50 million years ago, maybe there was a flash flood, maybe a volcano covered them in ash? Why are they all the same height. Were they covered in coral? Seems like the floor level was above these fossils at some point. So intriguing!
Edward G — Google review
We just visited the free area because the cost for the tickets wasn't clear and the view wasn't promising nothing very impressive. The rocks formation is very impressive indeed but they look all the same... It make sense to visit if you spend 1 week in Varna.

Super nice place for wine tasting, weddings, team buildings, horse riding and other activities. Located in a small village near the town of Provadia and approximately an hour by car from the town of Varna. If you plan on going there please make sure to contact them via phone in advance. Highly recommend!
Mihail T — Google review
We booked 10 rooms at Salla Estate for a group of 20 people, with breakfast included, for 3 nights. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing: The so-called “surprise dinner” turned out to be a fixed portion (salad + fish or meat), served without any options, at a price much higher than in good restaurants in Bulgaria where we could actually order what we wanted. We were also served rakia and wine without being asked if we wanted them. Breakfast was the worst we have ever encountered: just a few tasteless doughnuts, croissants, a plate with jam, and a piece of tomato. Later they brought some fried eggs and cheese, but with the absurd restriction of “only one egg and one slice of cheese per person.” On one morning, the yogurt was watered down. The service was rude: when one colleague asked for a glass of water, he was told he would only get water if he ordered something else from the bar. The horse-riding activity, which was promised and scheduled, never happened – the staff didn’t show up and stopped answering the phone. In conclusion, the price–quality ratio was disastrous, and the staff’s attitude was disrespectful. Definitely not recommended.

This is literally the most underrated zoo I've ever been to! I randomly saw it on the map and we almost didn't but boy am I happy that we did! You can really see how much love and craft has gone in it and the animals look so healthy and happy (most importantly they have so much space and it's not between 4 concrete walls) please go!!! It's a must!!!
Niki M — Google review
Very nice experience! The staff were really good, professional, and friendly. We paid a fair price overall, and it was worth it considering the number and variety of animals we saw. My child really enjoyed the visit! A great feature was the chance to feed the animals ourselves. Although the food (like cabbage and fresh fruits) came at an extra cost, it was absolutely worth it. Most zoos of this size either don’t allow feeding or make it very expensive — here it was affordable and fun. Overall, one of the best zoo experiences in the area. Thank you!
Victor E — Google review
Mini zoo in the vicinity of a forest. Nothing extraordinary. Just a few animals, lots of rabbits and hens. Plus a few monkeys, some ponyes. The wooden infrastructure where animals live seem to be very old and not taken care of. The mix sensation of wild and abandoned, but not in a good sense. There is a mini playground for kids and also the option to buy food to feed the animals yourself (2 extra leva). The parking across the road is very filthy, with human feces and scattered toilet paper. Plus plastic bottles. Not worthy for stopping.

Nice zoo, though it's rather old and shabby but it has good vibe. Animals look healthy and are not afraid of humans. Definitely recommend buy some food to feed the animals at the entrance (2 BGN = 1 EUR per packet). We will definitely visit again in the warmer times. PS: Beware of dog poop near geese pond, LMAO
Vladimir K — Google review
This is a really nice rustic zoo! A good variety of animals, lots of areas to sit and have a picnic and play areas for children. The animals appear to he well looked after, with an abundance of food. Animals are happy and engage with visitors. My wife was particularly happy that a monkey held her hand. Really affordable for a family to visit this little petting zoo, under'2's are free, 2-12years is 4 Lev and adults / 12+ is 8 Lev. I really liked how most enclosures / benches and fences appear to be made out of re-used wood / branches. There is also lots of shade as you walk around, with the majority of enclosures and walkways protected by tree cover. To conclude, a really nice small petting zoo, that offers visitors a low cost afternoon out where you do not need to worry about the health of the animals. Have included a few pictures from our visit, including the hand-holding monkey.

The swings are wide enough for me to fit in. A monkey grabbed my finger What’s not to like?! Nice and shaded. Animals seem well kept. You can feed them cabbage or corn. 8 lev for adults.

Nice little walk through some historic excavations. It was really interesting as it was only discovered in 2009-2013. 5 Lev entry (and a very friendly cat may join some of your experience. Also it is on the coastline with fantastic views across the bay (as seen in the photos). It was very quiet, we went around 10am and were the only visitors. (Video of the cat host included)

I liked it. But it could be made more interesting. With more information, more photos & info about the excavation sites, more detailed history of the ancient area & this ancient village. You can see the efforts people put to keep this place open & running. But it is not enough. There are so many good examples around the world, of how this could be done better. I don't understand the Bulgarian mentality to try to "discover the hot water". You can take inspiration or ideas from good practices & successful places around the world.

Action Aquapark is a fun-filled water park that boasts slides, pools, a lazy river, concessions and even a mini zoo with farm animals and birds. However, due to its post-Covid reopening schedule, some of the slides are open only during specific times of the day while others close for a short period. The main gate is also closed so visitors must enter through the hotel lobby at the back and pay there instead.
We had an excellent trip as a family of 5 ages between 12-15 for the kids, everyone had a great time. We used the free shuttle bus and booked our tickets online in advance of our trip... all went smoothly. No queues for entry or really for any of the rides, it did get a little busier in the late afternoon but still no more than a couple of people in front of us no more than 1-2 minute wait for the slides which in peak season I thought was excellent. Staff were friendly from reception, to security and the pool attendants. Food was slightly higher than other places but we ate light and had a more filling evening meal, I don't think you cant take in your own food and water but that's not an issue if you know in advance. We also read about people having bad experiences with the wrist bands but our 3 managed to keep theirs attached fine all day with no issues, just make sure they are tight and no problem. No problem getting 5 sun loungers together and a couple of parasols, saw plenty of others free. Lazy lagoon was brilliant we spent a good half an hour in there was really fun with the kids. Highly recommended for a family trip when in Sunny Beach.

Just a flew slides are good, but the rest not. A really small park with not a lot of activities. Maybe a better place for families. The bracelets they give you at the entrance slide off from your hand easily and get lost. Then you have to pay extra money for the lost bracelet. The "dressing rooms" were horrible and no lockers anywhere. They charged us more for the locker and it was on the other side of the park than the dressing rooms. The locker room smelled so bad that you had to hold your breath when you went in. Also they give you an actual key for it and you have to carry it along everywhere. The whole park was so outdated and poorly made. The slides also give you bruises and it hurts like hell.
Tiia T — Google review
Close to the beach and the rest of the main resort. There was no long queuing for the attractions. There were plenty of sun beds available for all guests. It is well catered place with food options for different tastes. Children love it. Highly recommend it.
Petya I — Google review
At the entrance, your bag is checked to make sure you don't have any water or food with you, they just touched the bottom of your bag. The slides were not crowded ( at the end of august), maybe after 2 pm . Prices: entrance 67 leva / adult, Frappe 8 leva, Cola 0.5l 6 leva
G G — Google review
Hardly any queues at the slides, so 3 hours is enough to ride them all twice, they really should offer a half day ticket, as the entrance fee is quite steep! Or in the entrance fee maybe include 1 picture, which are taken throughout your visit. Best place for a nap I found stretching out on a double boat alone, nicely out of the water and super comfy with a slight to and from rocking. Online tickets are pointless, as they are same price as at the cash desk, only useful, if you have a coupon, which can only be redeemed online. But keep in mind you have to make a screenshot of the booking number, as they don't sent any confirmation email.

Awesome day,,not very busy, end of season so all restaurants etc closed but ticket price included the use of the all inclusive hotel for the day so had a great massive lunch and free drinks. The water was very cold but soon get used to it 👌
KING A — Google review
The price is expensive. Unjustified Paying for the locker in cash too Only one or two of the staff at the slides were nice, the rest were not Bad attitude towards the children and yelling at the children unjustly. No professional first aid service No health insurance for injuries Despite the expensive price. If you are a local or speak a local language, they let you bring in food and drinks from outside. The complex needs to be renovated, expanded and improved. Because I visited six years ago, it's the same thing. The cashier was nice Hope the situation will change for the better

Really enjoyed it, 10 year old had lots of fun, went a friday in August, minimal queues, got slightly busier between 2 and 4, food was reasonably priced approx £10 for a burger meal, must try are the corn on the cobs, really healthy snack,

Sunny Beach Amusement Park, also known as Sunny Beach Luna Park, is a must-visit attraction in the summer resort. It offers a wide range of family-oriented amusements, including thrilling roller coasters and funfair-style rides suitable for all ages. The park's highlight is 'The Booster,' an adrenaline-pumping ride that promises an unforgettable experience. Visitors can also enjoy casual dining options within the park.
Enjoyed the evening we spent here during our visit to Sunny beach early June '25 Reasonably priced and something for everyone.

Get in and head to the small cabin Infront of the bungee to buy your tokens. Reasonable prices. Everyone who works here is friendly and the chap on the big bungee is great with the kids they will have a blast. It connects onto the shopping strip which is great for all your clothing bags and so on . You can pretty much spend a night here and in the surrounding area just wandering eating the various street foods and getting your feet nibbled by fish. Be vigilant like anywhere there are pickpockets amongst the crowds so avoid things in back pockets or open top bags. Enjoy

What a great place for family fun full of attractions, fast food stalls, restaurants and little souvenir shops. There are many restaurants with a menu for children offered together with a colouring sheet. If staying in a more distant residence, use a little train (sunny beach train= SBT). It's main point is definitely their Russian wheel 🛞 which serves also as a meeting point. A little piece of advice for parents: don't visit this park (or rather the close street) at the beginning of your holiday stay 😜😁 The adjacent beach is extremely overcrowded even within the first September week (after the school year start). In case you wish to have a calmer spot, find other beacher (Kiko, Cacao).

We visited the amusement park in June and had a great time! The overall atmosphere was fun and enjoyable, especially for the kids – they loved every minute of it. One big plus was that the waiting times weren’t long, which made the experience even better. However, some of the prices for individual attractions felt quite high. For example, throwing balls at cans cost 20 BGN, while bungee jumping was only 10 BGN, and the sparkly bumper cars were 9 BGN. It would be great if the pricing was a bit more balanced. Still, the park offered lots of smiles and good moments – definitely worth a visit if you're nearby!

Pretty decent. If you get the adrenaline package. Gives you cheaper tickets for 4 of the main rides. 49lv worked out at £22. If you visit at around 7pm there's not much for queuing either.

It's a fun place, decent amount of attraction, not too crazy, not expensive.

The drop tower was amazing — super fast and a great thrill, plus really cheap for the experience. The booster was the highlight: very exciting, extremely intense, and definitely worth trying. Prices overall felt quite fair. The only letdown was the roller coaster, which was really mid — shaky and not very extreme compared to the other rides.
Yoan Z — Google review
Disgusting old place with very outdated ride machines. Scary house - We asked the man and woman owners at the entrance if an 8-year-old girl could go into the scary room, and a they said yes. We bought two tickets, but as soon as the girl opened the door, she started crying. When we asked to return the enterence tickets (chips), they refused. The girl was still crying, and instead of helping, they shouted at us and threatened us and touch us. Don’t go to this dirty place where people lying to get money from you! Shameless people. 🤢

The Church of the Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel is a significant religious site in Old Nessebar, surrounded by other historic churches like St. Paraskeva's Church and St. John the Baptist Church. The only functioning church in the area, it houses a revered icon of the Holy Mother and boasts beautiful arches and mosaics. While not perfectly preserved, it is still an impressive example of Late Byzantine architecture.

Nestled in the heart of Nessebar, the Church of Saint Sophia stands as a remarkable testament to Bulgaria's rich historical tapestry. Dating back to the 5th century, this ancient basilica features three naves and stunning arched windows that invite visitors into its serene ambiance. As you wander through the charming cobbled streets of Old Town, you'll encounter these well-preserved ruins surrounded by quaint cafes and shops, making it an ideal spot for capturing memorable holiday snapshots.
Beautiful old ruin of a church, amazing to be a le to walk around it and completely free of charge. Can get very busy so if you want to take photos go early in the morning before the crowds!

Old Nessebar, situated on a rocky peninsula extending into the Black Sea, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular tourist destination in Bulgaria. The town is renowned for its picturesque wooden houses and churches. Connected to the mainland by a man-made isthmus, Old Nessebar offers stunning views of the sea from its charming restaurants and traditional shops. Visitors can enjoy delicious seafood dishes and European cuisine while taking in the breathtaking scenery.
The place is wonderfull. At the terrace you can see the whole sea while enjoying your food. The service is perfect, dishes are served quickly, at the same time. Food is also delicious. Fish is great, soft, not dried. For kids pancakes with chocolate are the choice. We have found the restaurant much too late...

Really nice place, crowded, but it’s a visited/touristic spot thus this was expected. We really liked the streets and arhitecture, we went there everyday to discover something new. Nice to take walks and see the old buildings and ruins. We ignored the shops with souvenirs as they could kind of ruin the vibe. Totally one of the nicest places from the Bulgarian sea side resorts

If you want to visit the old town to see nice and unique architecture and ancient style streets - don't bother. Plenty of tables selling all kinds of cheap colourful plastic stuff... toys hanging everywhere, very crowded... especially if you are visiting with kids - you could not see any architecture.

I did not spend the night in the old town, but I have bought souvenirs from various shops. It is very beautiful, the prices are OK and the personnel was very polite and helpful. It was a worthwhile experience!

Very bad expensive. Refrigerator is not connected to the permanent electricity of the hotel. It is connected to your room key. Means when you are out, the refrigerator doesn't work. The worst hotels in the world don't work like that. The size of WC is tiny: 22x26 cm!!!! It is a torture using the WC. The blankets have no cover and when I asked for that, they simply ignored me. Never again this place. Never.
Syrusphoenix — Google review
The whole island a massive tourist trap. We managed to find only two streets that were not flooded with booths selling unrelated crap (Lafufu dools, Pokemon key rings, Brainrot towels). The vendors cover the houses with accessories that have nothing to do with the place. People use loudspeakers to promote their stuff. Some walk up to you trying to sell you some jewelry. My whole family were disgusted. We came for UNESCO sites and we're badly disappointed.

If you are staying nearby a visit to Old Nessebar is a must. We stayed in Sveti Vlas and got the boat over, which was nice too. It's a nice relaxed environment with some great history and nice places to eat too. We went in June and was told it got really busy in July and August, with narrow streets it could get very crowded.

Aquapark Nessebar, also known as the Pearl of the Black Sea, is a must-visit outdoor waterpark in the Bulgarian town of Nessebar. This ancient town has a rich history and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The water park is one of the largest in Europe, covering 55,000 square meters and offering over 60 attractions including slides, water rivers, and paddling pools for visitors of all ages.
Fantastic Family Fun at Nessebar Aqua Park! We visited Nessebar Aqua Park in Bulgaria at the end of May into early June and had an absolutely brilliant time! The park is impressively large, with a fantastic range of slides and attractions to suit all ages — from thrilling rides for the adrenaline seekers to gentler areas for younger kids. There were excellent facilities throughout the park. The pools and play areas are well thought out, and there’s something for everyone, whether you're a toddler, teen, or adult. The sunbeds were plentiful and spread all around the park, so we never struggled to find a spot to relax. As guests staying at the affiliated hotel, we had access to the all-inclusive food options — and they didn’t disappoint! All-inclusive guests had an allocated restaurant situated at the far left of the food hall, which was very convenient. The selection included chips, chicken nuggets, chicken kebabs, other kebabs, burgers, and a fresh salad bar. Everything was really tasty and ideal for a day of fun in the sun. For drinks, there was a wide choice from refreshing mocktails and soft drinks to cocktails and local beer. The atmosphere at the park was lively and upbeat, with music playing constantly which really helped keep spirits high. The toilets and showers were impressively clean and clearly well-maintained, with staff regularly on hand to keep them spotless. Safety was also a priority — we saw plenty of lifeguards around the big slides and main children's area. The only small thing to note was that we didn’t see a lifeguard directly in the toddler/baby zone, which might be worth improving. The pools were a bit cold during our visit, but with the hot weather, it was still very refreshing and didn’t stop us from enjoying every minute. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this holiday and will definitely be returning. Nessebar Aqua Park is a great day out and a highlight of any stay in the area!

The lines at the slides were really long, but it is what it is, If you want to try the biggest ones you need to wait at least an hour which really exhausting. The paying system is good with the watch what they give you at the entrance, the park itself is really nice. Good staff.

One of the best Aqua Parks I've been in Europe. Fun day for kids in all ages and also for adults. Bars with drinks, ice creams and food almost on every corner. Is not overcrowded even on weekends. We had access to Water Park with our hotel stay, no matter what time we came, haven't been struggling to find a sun lounge. Very safe, any kid, even teenage can not exit without an adult. Security at all gates.
Natalia C — Google review
The park was great, so many different slides and quite a lot to do. Also you can't beat the BOGO happy hour from 2pm - 4pm for adults. My only feedback would be that they have a line for people who bout tickets in advance to get in quicker.

What an amazing hotel. It was so clean and well maintained. The pools and poolsides were cleaned every evening ready for the next day, we saw maintenance being done on some loose tiles pool side. Maintenance were on the ball... The Aqua park was spectacular , lots of staff and lifeguards. The slides and play areas and pools were fantastic. Music from the pirate ship was brilliant and kept you entertained with daily games. All inclusive was so easy, your Aqua park wristwatch was your key to everything available. Food, drinks, icecream and park entry at 10am. Security lockers needed paying for, 20 lev but you get half back. Restaurants at the hotel x 3. Fusion, Italian and the normal restaurant for daily use... the restaurant offered a huge range of food and drink at every mealtime. Including wine and beer. The staff all worked so hard to make sure your stay was perfect. Advising them I had allergies when I first arrived they bent over backwards to ensure I had plenty to eat, preparing separate meals for me. We had an amazing time at this hotel and will definitely return again, my grandchildren were never out of the water, the Purple people arranged games, the kids club, sports events, poolside games, quizzes, discos in the evening. There was also entertainment from 9.30pm in the Amphitheatre. We saw some fantastic shows, never the same one twice over 14 days. Children who didn't have siblings, soon found someone to play with. I cannot fault this place, it was definitely worth the money. I can't put everything in here but ask any questions and I'll do my best to answer. 😃
Jo-Anne F — Google review
The aqua park was good, although in hindsight we wouldn't go again in full season as was extremely busy... to get on any of the decent rides there was at least an hour's wait which was disappointing...other wise it was very good.. the watch system was a good idea for getting food etc.. watch out for idiots trying to skip the cues.. we saw quite a few.. They were pit in the their place very quickly ...
David P — Google review
We enjoyed this aquapark – there’s a great variety of slides in all sizes, and the place is kept nice and clean. On arrival you’re given a bracelet that you top up with money, as cash and cards aren’t accepted inside. It’s a clever system but a bit of a faff, since you have to guess how much you’ll need and then queue at the end to get any unused balance back. One downside is that no food is allowed in the park. Bags are checked, and even our small pack of biscuits was taken away (though returned at the end). It felt a little petty, especially as we’d happily have bought their food anyway. Overall though, it’s a fun and well-run place, and worth a visit if you’re looking for a good day out.

The Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius, also known as the Cathedral, is a significant cultural monument dedicated to the Evangelist brothers. It is the largest and oldest Eastern Orthodox Cathedral in Burgas, with an impressive exterior and typical interior decorations. The cathedral has undergone several renovations and restorations throughout its century-long history. It's the largest and oldest Eastern Orthodox Cathedral in Burgas. It was built just over 100 years ago. The outside looks very impressive. The inside is decorated in a typical style. The frescos, done by the same artist who did the ones in Alexander Nevski in Sofia, are a bit faded and need to be restored. The inside is not nearly as opulent as others I have seen. The entire building looks like it needs some TLC but it is a wonderful place to visit.

Popular sandy stretch backed by hotels, with beach bars, restaurants & thatched umbrellas.
Top top beach place! The beach is nice, the sand is like powder, the water is calm and clear. There are nice bars and restaurants pretty much for everyone’s taste and budget. There is also free area and paid one. Most bars don’t charge extra for sitting if you consume there. Compared to the beaches in Sozopol this is high quality. There is a convenient bus from Sozopol and for 10-15 minutes you can be there.
Nina M — Google review
This could have been the perfect beach: long, with picturesque sand dunes, warm and clear blue water, perfect sand, clean enough, great view. BUT it is extremely noisy, the music is very loud from every existing bar, crowded and expensive. A perfect example of how to ruin a beautiful place.
Ana P — Google review
I tried to go back for a day or two to my childhood and memories. Alas, it's not like that. Overdeveloped territory. Overpopulated. Bonus - there remains this beautiful, clean, azure blue sea.
Simeon B — Google review
Just got back from Kavatsite Resort near Sozopol, and honestly, it was pretty disappointing. Here's the real deal: Getting Around: The infrastructure here is seriously lacking. Want to check out Sozopol? You're stuck taking a taxi because there's basically no other way to get there. We're talking about a measly 3.5km ride that'll cost you around 10 euros - that's Western European Uber pricing for what should be a quick local trip! Value for Money: The accommodation prices are just not justified by what you actually get. Most hotels and apartments are overpriced for the level of service and amenities they offer. You're paying premium rates for a mediocre experience. Beach Situation: Don't expect to find many free beach spots - most areas seem to be privatized or require payment. It really felt like every decent stretch of sand had a price tag attached. Bottom Line: This was another letdown from Bulgaria's Black Sea coast, which sadly isn't surprising anymore. If you're looking for good value where your money actually matches the experience, I'd honestly recommend checking out Croatia, Greece, Montenegro, or Turkey instead. These places know how to treat tourists right without breaking the bank. For those willing to spend a bit more, Italy and France rarely disappoint - you get what you pay for and then some. My take: Skip Kavatsite unless you enjoy overpaying for underwhelming experiences. There are way better coastal destinations out there that respect both your wallet and your vacation time. This is the view from my apartment, instead to have a nice small park you get something like a trash yard with trees😏

Wonderful beach! :) Probably one of the best organized beaches on Bulgarian seaside. Wonderful views, clean water, many cafeterias and bars, entertainment facilities and great sand which you cannot find in many places. :( Unfortunately not many free areas. In order to go and feel comfortable you have to pay at least 20 leva (10 euro) per day for umbrella and bed. Always crowdy during summer session.

Castle of Ravadinovo

Castle

Whimsical fairytale-style castle with a wine cellar amid landscaped gardens with fountains & a lake.
We went as part of an organized trip to Sozopol and the surrounding areas, the castle was a great highlight of that tour, very unique and I'm glad we visited. You can only really view the grounds as the internals are still being worked on but still worth the trip if in the area. Lots to see nice photo opportunities with the family.

I paid for 4 people 100 Lev, after you enter there is a beautiful garden to see, this is also the only thing you see besides the outside of the castle, they have been renovating the castle for 3 years now. For a payment of 10 Lev per person you could view 1 room in the castle. Too bad you pay so much for a garden and actually see nothing of the castle,

To be honest, I had some expectations regarding the "age" of this castle. Unfortunately, it is build 30 years ago to promote an abandoned area nearby Sozopol. It is maybe one of the most beautiful castles ever made, the garden is marvellous, and the caffè is just fine.

Very very beautiful from outside! But not sure if it is worth 20€ ticket as there is no museum only otside and garden. But beautiful and worth seeing at peast from outside

I never give a 1 star review. This was on 2nd Sept as part of an organised coach trip. This attraction is not an historical castle with grounds but a 1994 built "artist's fantasy land" and gardens which is rather neglected in so many ways - bluey copper/brass/bronze tinge in old stone work, cloudy and densley populated fish pond, pointless statues, princess dressing up area and caged animals mixed together in crowded conditions. See other people's photos... This attractions adds no value other than confusion, unrelatability and a feeling of "get me out of here". You're greeted by a Knight who encourages you to have a photo with him, where his photographer rather rudely stops you from taking your OWN photos of this "pose", so that you're encouraged to buy theirs... The only upside was a shaded roundel seating area bar and cafe with plush chairs and a cocktail bar style centre piece. Cakes looked good. Good selection of drinks at reasonable prices. Either close the place or modernise it with a "relatable purpose".

This castle was somewhat disappointing. Visitors are not allowed inside the main castle building, except for the “Builder’s Room,” which requires an additional fee. Entry to the grounds and underground dinning room costs 40 BGN, with extra charges for all other attractions. The gardens are attractive and pleasant. However, many areas are in need maintenance work. The ponds and fountains need cleaning, the small zoo raises concerns, and the underground dining and ballroom areas are musty and in need of ventilation. Although the site photographs well, it requires significant upkeep to meet expectations.

The place is beautiful but the price is 40 BGN, which is too expensive compared to another similar attractions. Moreover the entrance inside the castle is not allowed. Museum and owner room require additional 10 BGN payment to enter.

I should have read the reviews before visiting. The price you are paying is misleading you only have acces to the garden and a cellar. To see some of the rooms you need to pay extra for each one of them. For me it was not worth to pay extra all that we so was a kitsch mix of medieval, ancient Egypt, christian belives, Italian sculptures, English clock, Japanese garden, with a small zoo. All of this with a gypsy twist.

Begliktash

Place of worship
Sights & Landmarks
Peaceful Thracian sanctuary, circa 16 BCE, marked by massive manmade & natural rock formations.
Ancient place, mixed history through the centuries and ages. Stones formed for sanctuaries and rituals. Unique spot filled with mystical spirits.

A cool place with lots of hiking trails around. There is a bit of walk till you get to the main entrance and there are a lot of bugs along the way but the place is nice clean, there is plenty of information however a lot to be desired in terms of sources of that information but still a cool place and I recommend it for a combined trip to the Primorsko Beach

Thracian sanctuary that serves as the venue for weekly opera performances in the summer.

Begliktash is a fascinating historical and natural site, often called the Bulgarian Stonehenge. The large rock formations are impressive and carry a sense of mystery, connected with ancient Thracian rituals. The walk around the site is peaceful, surrounded by nature, and it doesn’t take too long to explore. There aren’t many signs with detailed explanations, so it helps if you read a bit about it before visiting. Still, it’s a unique place and worth a stop if you’re in the Primorsko area.

Great family walk in the morning around 10h, when sun is still low and there are not many people. You can get there with the car, just continue past the parking spot. The dirt road is not bad for normal cars. There weren't any nasty flies as others have reported because it was sprayed two days ago. The rock formations are huge, and worth seeing if you're around the area. Fee was 5 lv or 2.5 Euro per person.

A magnificent place witht absolutely virginly untouched nature. The opportunity to see how the cults and traditions of ancient times tribes have been organized centuries ago, b.c. They told us the best time to visit was on the sunrise. But on any other time of the day as well there is an impressive place to visit. I can bet it should be epic also in the night time. When we arived, around 10 am there was almost nobody around, at 11 am there were plenty of tourists around. All you have to do is to read  the info plates and the rest will be done by your imagination. A must visit place due to its utterly unique vibe.

Place with special energy... If you are close to this area you have to visit it

You can walk on foot from Primorsko. We have started from Primorsko Bus Station and the walk along the sea and then up a winding road about 2 hours. Once you get to the car park, there's another 1km walk to the ticket kiosk. Tickets are very affordable, 4bgn adult and 2 bgn child. There you can enjoy looking at, touching and climbing the stones. It's much better than Stonehenge, you can get close as much as you wish, squeeze between the stones, walk on them. The site is amazing! Each rock has got info in English. It was a total highlight of our stay! Whats more, you can take one of the 4 routes to get to the scenic views of the coast. Don't miss Beglik Tash, it's a gem!💖

Ropotamo Nature Reserve

Wildlife refuge
Nature & Parks
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Landscape of marshes & sand dunes, home to eagles & wild boar, with boat rides on Ropotamo River.
We took both boat rides. Upstream with more animals and a smaller river, and downstream on a wider river towards the sea, with more birds.
Alexey ( — Google review
We have been there the day before yesterday. There were almost no people and the boat captains said it was their last day for the saison. Nevertheless we got a boat tour with only three people for about half an hour. It was 25LV for each. They told us it's prohibited by the environmental agency to drive towards the sea, so they are only driving up the river and back again. Still we could see turtles, a heron, a cormorant and ice birds.
Oliver L — Google review
If you go to a sea part of the river, there are very friendly people, you can buy a beer, water amd some snack in the machine and there are a lot of bench for sitting. The upper part is oposit to this. Price is quite high 25/15lv. and you have to go there by taxi or by a car. Walking there from Primorsko is possible, but in summer difficult and not for everybody. You have to wait until thw ship is 50% full, untill they start the trip. Payment by card possible.

Beautiful boat tour at 25bgn per person. About 45 minutes long. Very beautiful view.

Very pretty but not sure what all the fuss was about. Was just a pretty river cruise but I wouldn't rate it as a 'must see'.
Hannah G — Google review
Nice for a short trip in a preserved area on a boat. Unfortunately cannot go to the sea and the experience is not the same as it used to be, but still is OK. Works only during the summer
Emil H — Google review
Great experience! The tickets for the boat can be paid only in cash BGN
Ivan B — Google review
If you're tired of driving, it would be a good idea to hike a bit to the "deer" hill spot just near the Ropotamo River here in the reserve. It's pretty easy to take it and you'll have some nice views portion 😎
