Probably one of the most beautiful and charming beaches in the island, parking nearby is available. You need to be there early if you want to get a sunbed and umbrella otherwise improvise a place in the shade.

Absolutely beautiful beach! The sand is soft and golden, and the water is crystal clear with the most amazing turquoise color — it honestly feels like the Caribbean. The sea stays shallow for a long distance, which makes it perfect for families with kids. There are plenty of facilities — clean toilets, showers, sunbeds, umbrellas, cafés, and water sports (SUP, kayaks, parasailing). Everything is well maintained, and the atmosphere is relaxed yet lively. It can get quite crowded during summer weekends, so it’s best to come early in the morning. The small island a few meters offshore is great for swimming or snorkeling.

Beautiful little Church. Very quiet peaceful place. Grounds very well looked after. No payment needed to enter. Alot of steps to climb, hard work if you decide to go in 36degree heat as we did, but worth it spectacular views

A very beautiful place. The church is located on one of the highest points of Protoras. There is a bus stop nearby, but you can also walk there. Below is a shady, cozy green mini-park, a small waterfall and a place for wedding registration. There are steps leading up, which, according to legend, must be counted back and forth. The difference represents the number of your sins. There are also several trees on which ribbons are tied, as a memory of someone or to make wishes. The church is small, quiet, peaceful. A place for prayer and reflection. It is open to everyone on weekdays and there are no priests or other staff. On weekends, weddings, prayers or other events can take place here. You can light candles, which are here, and make a donation in a special box. There is also a small store with religious accessories nearby. From here, a beautiful panoramic view of Protoras opens. A place worth visiting!

There is a parking lot below the church. There are about 50 steps leading up to the church, but the view is definitely worth it. A beautiful place with an amazing atmosphere.

A great setting for a church. There are bout 75 steps but are easy to do. The chapel it was built in 1984 in the place of an older chapel. The stones that it was built with is from the local area, so it would fit with the surroundings and they do compliment the area around it. The church is full of frescoes from floor to ceiling of Saints and scenes from the Greek Orthodox bible. Outside you will be greeted by a tree that has many ribbons and strips of cloth tied to its branches. That is because is a remembrance tree but lately people have started tying ribbons from the bottom of the seps and to other trees and bushes. They tie the ribbon or cloth in remembrance of a loved one. If this is something you’d like to do while visiting the chapel, make sure to take ribbon with you. This way you can tie the ribbon and honour your loved ones just like locals do. Others tie the ribbon and make a wish. So for some this is like a wishing tree. However, you look at it thought it is an amazing thing to tie your own ribbon on the tree. The views from there are amazing as you can see the whole of Protaras and the blue coastal area.

Great views as far as your eyes can see, well worth the short steep stairs up, a few of them.. You will not be disappointed, try at sunrise, sunset or during the day. Take some time to reflect on whatever you want. You can leave a donation for for the church as it's always open. I recommend it.

An amazing church to visit, quite a few steps for perhaps people with certain health or mobility restrictions. We went just as the sun was setting and the view is amazing once you are up there, a beautiful church inside and out and a must visit here in Protaras.

Well worth the climb up amazing 360 degree views also fantastic to see inside the church lovely and quiet , recommend taking a moment to enjoy the peace and light a candle. Outside fascinating to look around all offerings that have been left. Steep climb but worth it.

Although it unequivocally merits further restoration and management, this monastery, or rather, museum, as is the current state of it, is a notable piece of Greek Cypriot history and national identity. It is commendable that efforts are underway to make sure it remains reputable. If you're visiting, make sure not only to visit the main building of the monastery, but also to explore the gallery behind it. The gallery can be entered through the back courtyard, and it holds a sizable collection of archeological artifacts well worth observing.

It's a very interesting church. I recommend it. Also don't forget to visit the small Christian shrine next to 100 Mt.

Close to Salamis road and hotel. Nice ancient church with several museums containing nice old paitings and old pottery and statues. We went there at 4pm and there was nobody else in the area. Tickets were 50 TL per person.

Amazing little church with such a story to tell. In addition to the church, there is a museum of artifacts found in the surrounding area . There is a charming little refreshment place that offered fresh squeezed juice, water and ice cream. Also , a separate tomb that houses the body of St Barnabas. Outside was a small market ( 3 tables) that were selling locally made souvenirs. Very much worth a visit.

Nice museum with a lot of a artifacts . Again, this was one of the many stops on our one-day sightseeing tour from Larnaca. This place is interesting. I don't know how much the entrance fee is as we had entry as part of a sightseeing day where we visited more places in Cyprus, but it was a nice and pleasant stop.

Lovely little monastery with lots of artefacts from the island dating as far as 7000 BC! Pottery, toys, tools are only fiew amongst much more items to enjoy! There is also a tomb of a St Barnabas in a small chappel next to the monastery, the man who lived in the times of Jesus!!! HISTORY LOVERS? BE PREPARED TO BE AMAZED BY THIS TINY PLACE HAVING SO MUCH TO OFFER! Top tip...There are Royal Tombs just down the road as well as the ancient city of Salamis just a fiew miles away! 🤘🏻

A beautiful ruins to look around. We did a tour which we found informative whilst walking around and appreciating the architecture of the building and ground. Finish off our visit with a fresh cold drink at the cafe by the entrance. 8 minute walk uphill from the car park where our coach dropped us off.

Worth a visit for sure. Parking may be tricky but great gothic half ruined architecture. The mountain backdrop makes for a dramatic scene. You can see everything in about half an hour

The ruins of a former monastery. They still house a small church. All in all, nothing "wow"... The area is beautiful, clean, full of greenery and flowers. In addition, from the monastery courtyard you have a very beautiful panorama, with the sea and Kyrenia visible in the distance. There is also a restaurant, adjacent to the monastery.

Bit different from the normal ruins. The restaurant, bar and cafe is attached to the abbey so I felt a bit strange but it's a popular place for locals because of that. Therefore there is shuttle bus service, 30 TL for a single ticket, very easy access and a nice view. There are nice hotels and restaurants. You can take a bus from a big parking space. There's some signboards there.

Walking around Ballapais monetary, there was no audio guide or tour guide available to purchase on the day. You just walk around yourself. Tickets are available to purchase on the day and parking was available. A few of cafes and restaurants near by to enjoy afterwards.

It's amazing place to visit around Girne. It has great architecture and nice place for photography.

It has amazing views. Interesting ruins to walk around - lots of stairs to see everything. Inexpensive to enter. Not much information about the building.

A small port, not very spectacular. A mix of small boats, pleasure and fishing. On the shore several restaurants with terraces. Not very crowded, around 2:00 PM. The area looks decent, seems recently renovated. In the immediate vicinity is the castle, in a rather bad condition.

The harbour is beautiful. You can walk all the way round the harbour and past the castle. There are some lovely shops, bars and restaurants, we found a great rooftop bar for cocktails and beers with views over the harbour. Definitely spend half a day wandering round and exploring the side streets that lead off the harbour. On our previous visit we took a boat trip along the coast which is also beautiful.

Gorgeous place to visit. Unlimited restaurants. Great shops. Boat tours. Castle tours. Pretty much a full day out. Upmarket seaside bars and casinos. Lots to do and see. Extremely hot in the summer though so remember the sun tan lotion. Well worth a visit.

I've been once before as a teen and brought my partner with me this time. We enjoyed it very much! The walk up is very long and tiring, definitely take a breather now and then when climbing up the stairs to get to the peak. Beautiful views and well preserved. Only downside is that the Turkish Army closed it down early the day we went for something so we did rush a little.

Beautiful place. Shame that people don’t respect the no smoking and no littering signs. Also be wary of cafe .. asked for a Turkish coffee as had just seen them make one .. only to be told no.. only coffee available is from the espresso machine at €3 a cup. On leaving saw more customers having Turkish coffee.. definitely feel like it was a ‘tourist tax’ .. ..so be warned 😡

We got in just nefore 3pm and we're told to get down to the ticket office by 4pm. Tho on the outside signboard it says last entray 4.30pm That's apparently not the case today. This seems to do with it being part of the military base So changes to opening time can occur at anytime without notice. The view was really pretty we first went to john's church/chapel then we went to the peak 734m above sea level. The walk up there was not hard. I'd rate it medium difficulty tops. The road is a bit uneven and can be slippery after rains So make sure you wear proper shoes for that. We got to the top around 3.35 So 30-35min is enough for a person who is moderately fit to get up and we got down just before 4pm. Made a few other stops to see the beautiful queens' window too. We didn't visit the cistern next to the beautiful Windows unfortunately as we ran out of time. I think 1.5-2hrs is probably good for here. 1hr is a bit short. There doesn't seem to be public transport here whatsoever. We got a taxi up there and when to the monastery then back to town for 70euros...

Lots of people have wondered how accessible it is for older, less abled folks to access the castle. I visited yesterday & I am 71. Yes I am very fit for my age but for such an awesome setting do NOT let other misleading reviews stop you going. The castle is easily accessed from the car park where a little cafe is located. It's currently,50 tl entrance (just over a £1) & even just inside there is the most incredible view of Kyrenia. The steps for levels 1 & 2 are perfectly adequate & not very tough (see pictures) if you do not venture inside the first lookout towers which are more of a challenge. The are some awesome things to see within the first two levels like the Byzantine Church. There is also a super little cafe with an amazing view of the north coast at Kyrenia, selling their refreshing lemonade (& mocktails) & a small selection of small gifts & postcards. Now there is the third level to explore & I spent 90 mins on that level it's astounding! Again see pictures of steps & now I would say you have to be reasonably fit or very determined if a slow ascent is within your capabilities. There are astounding parts like the royal apartments with amazing views but the higher up you go the more arduous it gets until the pinnacle of the summit at 732m. some 333' higher than the car park. Steps are a lot more uneven but with care & a firm grip of the handrails it's achievable. Various pictures illustrate some of my descriptions. Some reviews talk about unstable poor handrails, this is not the case they were all solid & firm & reassuring. Some people describe litter plastic bottles etc. Well the castle has provided loads of do not litter, pop in a bin signs but there will always be the mindless uncaring idiots who ignore this, don't let it distract you off visiting. It's an awesome feat of human achievement to the highest level & it has been there a 1000 years. The road 3 miles from the dual carriageway can be accessed from the dual carriageway in either direction despite what Google maps might show (I came from Kyrenia & turned right) & the road shows a few hairpin bends, again don't let this put you off, they are wide & easily driven. What more can I say except done let a visit pass you by if you are anywhere near. Allow 4 hours if you want to visit & photograph every nook & cranny! Hope the photos help you make the right decision, Go Go Go, it's awesome!

Well worth visiting, magnificent views, but you need to be reasonably fit to make the climb. You need good balance. Not for children under 12 yrs of age.

Worth a visit. Entrance cheap 1 eur. Takes 2 hours at least to see all, so don't expect to see and go quickly. Enjoy and feel. Lot of hiking - which is good, but even old people made it..

Hey there! If you're ever in Turkey near Mersin, you should totally check out Gilindire Cave, also called "Mirrored Lake Cave." It's a pretty amazing natural place. Inside, you'll see these super cool rock formations called stalactites and stalagmites. They've been forming for ages, and with the special lighting, they look really awesome. Just a heads-up, though, it can get super humid in there, so be prepared for that! But the best part is definitely the clear lake at the very back. It's so still that it perfectly reflects everything, making it look like a mirror. Seriously, it's a great spot for photos! Getting around inside is pretty easy thanks to the stairs and walkways, which are generally good for walking. However, there are quite a few steps, so it can be a bit tiring, especially on the way back up. Scientists have even found stuff here from the Ice Age, which is pretty neat. So, if you're into nature and seeing something a bit different, Gilindire Cave is definitely worth a visit. You won't regret seeing this hidden gem!

Breathtaking views scenery both outside and inside must see. Entry fee as of today was 19TL definitely with it. I recommend once inside cave go all the way down first then slowly come back up enjoying cave views as straight up can be tiring. Great lake view at bottom.

I have visited Carlsbad caverns in New Mexico and Waitomo caves in New Zealand. The Gilindire caves in my opinion are much more enjoyable caves to visit. Inside the caves is a very well designed walkway and stairs the entire length/depth. The cave descends probably down to sea level and terminates at a platform overlooking a large crystal clear pool. You can hear bats 🦇 in the cave but I couldn’t spot them. In spring of 2025 the cost to see the cave was 60TL or $2 USD. Staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming! If it’s the middle of summer it would be a nice thing to do to escape the heat. I’ll definitely come back and visit.

The cave, whose entrance faces the sea, can be reached from the sea and land. The Gilindire Cave, which is 351 meters long in total, is a horizontally developed cave. The inside of the Gilindire Cave, which is right on the edge of one of the beautiful bays of the Mediterranean, is covered with all kinds of dripstone formations. These stalactites, which have reached enormous sizes and are extremely beautiful in appearance, have divided the main gallery into many halls and rooms. In addition, the large lake at the end of the cave and the stalactites, stalagmites, columns, walls, curtain dripstones and cave needles that form islands on the edge of this lake have turned the cave into a fascinating environment.

The castle has a great view of the city so you may only go there to see this fantastic view. We liked walking up to the entrance and they have clean toilets and a shop selling fresh cold drinks. It was not too busy maybe because we went there during the week. The whole place could be a bit cleaner but still good.

Get on the cable car to the top to see some spectacular views. The castle is big and you could easily spend a whole day there exploring. You will need some decent footwear as there are many steps. Walkways are full of little bazaar type shops and hidden gems to explore. Visited with a guide to show us the best bits buy can easily make your own way around. The sunset was awesome.

Clifftop castle covering a hugh area. Can get chairlift or walk to top of it. Lots of great views all around it. Set out on different levels decent footpaths. Also did boat trip from harbour around headland again great views of castle walls.

Very cool experience. Incredibly beautiful up there on the mountain and you can see as far as you want! Lots of differences in level, so strollers and wheelchairs are not suitable. There is a small market at the top and also kiosks and restaurants along the way. We walked up and took the cable car down. The cable car was a scary experience for those afraid of heights and it's expensive. 920 lira for two people one way!

Excellent view and great historic location. If you’re English speaking, I definitely recommend doing your own research to accompany your visit; the signs are not well translated and it’s hard to get an idea of the inspiring history of the place. Definitely recommend visiting at sunset, getting transport up the hill and visiting the market stalls on the way up before your visit as they will close

This was an amazing find on our holiday to turkey and 100% worth a visit. We took the cable cart up to the top of the mountain where the castle is, you can also drive up and park in the car park if preferred. The castle ruins were well kept and had little shops and toilets throughout, you can pay to enter the castle or if you want you can just walk around the outer ruins and grounds for free. We seen some amazing views of the surroundings including the harbour and the famous I ❤️ Alanya sign. This could easily be a half to full day out depending if you enter the castle or not and is perfect for children we took our now 6 and 10 year-old boys with us who absolutely loved to see the ruins and read the stories behind them.

Alanya Castle is one of the must-see places in the city. The view from the top is absolutely beautiful, overlooking the sea, the beach, and the whole of Alanya. The castle area is very big, so it’s also a good place for hiking or walking around while enjoying the historical atmosphere. The easiest way to reach the castle is by taking the Teleferik (cable car). Once you arrive, you can walk around freely, but keep in mind that if you want to enter the museum area inside, there is a separate ticket fee. It’s a great spot to spend a few hours, especially if you enjoy both nature and history. Don’t forget to bring comfortable shoes and water if you plan to explore the larger area by foot.

The beach itself is very beautiful and convenient. However, it’s very dirty. I don’t understand why neither the beach nor the water is cleaned. The water is very polluted by visitors, with microplastics, bandages, and various waste that shouldn’t be there visible everywhere. The authorities and visitors show a very careless attitude toward such a beautiful place. It’s really a shame.

cleopatra beach is truly one of the must visit places for swimming and relaxing. the sand and the sea are very clean, making it a great spot to enjoy the water. although both tourists and locals sometimes leave trash behind, i really hope this will decrease in the future so the beach can stay as beautiful as it deserves to be. the view here is stunning, the sunset, the mountains with goats wandering around, and the surrounding tourist spots all create a breathtaking atmosphere. the endless horizon of the sea brings a real sense of peace and relaxation. this natural wonder is also home to crabs, jellyfish, and even large fish, which makes the experience even more unique. on top of that, the cable car view over the area is simply amazing and adds to the overall charm of visiting this beach.

Nice long beach with some flat rocks in the water. But easy to get into the water. Sunbeds and umbrella cost 375 Lira. Absolutely ok. 👍🏾

Kleopatra Beach is absolutely beautiful!!!! The sand is soft, the water is clear and refreshing, and the whole atmosphere is just so relaxing. It’s a lovely spot to spend the day, whether you’re sunbathing, swimming, or just enjoying the views. There are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas for hire if you need them, and lots of little cafes and restaurants nearby for snacks and drinks, which makes it really convenient. The beach was clean and well looked after, which I really appreciated. It’s popular, so it can get busy at times, but it still has a calm and friendly vibe, everyone just seems happy to be there. I really enjoyed my time at Kleopatra Beach and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Perfect for a chilled-out day by the sea!

Kleopatra beach is so beautiful. The heat is unreal! The sand is lovely but gets super hot in August! I love going in the sea which is very warm, clean and refreshing. However the waves can get very powerful and knock loads of people over which is actually great fun! But if you're fragile take care! The back drop of Alanya castle is so beautiful.

The beach itself is amazing,very long and plenty of space for everyone. The sea there is beautiful, lifeguards are everywhere so it seems to be like a safe place to swim. Negative is no free toilet these days Paying 50p for every entry is just stealing money for your basic needs.

The hotel was amazing! The food was always delicious and had many options to choose from. The animation team was fantastic they were so friendly, energetic, and made every day full of fun activities. Thanks to them, we had an unforgettable holiday!

Not the best choice for families with small children We booked this hotel online, and from the photos and description we didn’t realize that it has no beach. This was very disappointing for families with kids, since children usually enjoy playing at the shore. The sea access is only from a pier, which might be fine for adults who can swim, but it’s not safe or convenient for young children. The food was okay – not amazing. There were a few tasty dishes, but overall nothing special. Where food was cooked on the spot, there were long queues, so you needed patience. For kids, the dining area was nice, but baby jars were available only at breakfast, only one type, and just a few jars. In other hotels we’ve stayed at, they were available all day and in more varieties. About 80% of the guests were Russian. At check-in, we met a very unfriendly receptionist, which left a bad first impression. On our first night, our child got sick and vomited, and we were charged extra for the bed sheets. The kids’ show starts at 9 PM, which is far too late for little ones. The swimming pools were very cold – unpleasant for adults but especially unsuitable for children. Housekeeping was inconsistent: even though we requested cleaning within the suggested time slots (7–12 or 15–18), the room was often skipped. At lunchtime, when staff probably came, our child was sleeping, so we were left without cleaning on several days unless we asked directly. Meal times (lunch 12:30–14:30 and dinner after 18:30) also overlapped with our child’s nap schedule, so we had to struggle to get food in advance for him. In the evening, the bar by the “beach” area was closed, which was a pity because that was a nice spot to sit. Also, not all water slides were working. The rooms were loud, and even from the front desk we were disturbed during the child’s sleeping time for ac. Positives: the kids’ club is lovely, with very kind staff (special thanks to Nisa and Musti). The views are beautiful, there are plenty of pools (though the water is cold), and the balcony was spacious.

We had an amazing time at A Good Life Utopia Family Resort! The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and always smiling. The animators were fantastic — full of energy and made every day so much fun for both kids and adults. The whole atmosphere of the hotel was warm and welcoming. Everything was clean and well organized. The food was delicious, fresh, and had a lot of variety. We really enjoyed every moment and would love to come back again! Highly recommend this place!

Amazing Family Holiday at A Good Life Utopia Family Resort! I’m currently staying here (October 30, 2025), and I just have to say — this hotel is absolutely amazing! Whether you are a family with children or a young couple, you’ll find everything you need for a perfect holiday. The food is fantastic, the animation team is full of energy, the spa is relaxing, and the whole atmosphere is just wonderful. I loved every single bit of Utopia family Resort!! Me and my Mum, chose this place accidentally on the last minute, we had no regrets!! Everyone was welcoming, helping and nice !! Although hotel rooms are a bit dated, the staff are very friendly and entertaining. Facilities & activities during day time are excellent with special events on some days. Good water park Good atmosphere in bar at nighttime and the shows are decent.

It's totally breathtaking! The outstanding nature and the greatest pieces of the ancient history are in my field of sight. Inexpressible privilege!

This museum is NOT wheelchair friendly, only if you have very big all terain wheels. Otherwise this can be a very painful experience. Do not try this if you suffer from pain. The staff does try to help you but this is even a challenge as an ambulatory wheelchair user with back pain and strong pain killers.. The toilet was looking very nasty. There are seats if you need a rest in between, normal toilets are okay.

This is a small and partly open-air museum in the Side ruins, included in the ticket with the theatre and forum. Ticket is free for children and €10 for adults. It’s well worth €10 if the theatre is open. The theatre is currently closed (2025) so you get less for your money buy in my opinion, it’s still worth buying for the museum and forum. The museum is a lovely, ambient place with very nice exhibits from Side. It has a nice gift shop (where you can and should haggle, despite being listed price). The museum will take you about an hour at most to get through.

Do not put off going here because it's called a 'museum', and, stereotypically, museums are indoor places with artifacts in glass cases. Mostly, this is a wonderful kind of sculpture garden, overlooking the sea, with plenty of benches and seating areas to sit and relax in the sun (or shade) while you admire the precious carvings and artifacts taken from the various local archaeological sites, to be preserved and protected. Inside the old Roman bath building, there is a collection of smaller items: coins, metal and clay artifacts, (in glass cabinets!) plus statues and a very impressive section of a marble facade. Information about artifacts was given in Turkish and English language - I didn't notice if there were other languages. There was also fascinating panelling on the wall between the cafe and the toilets about the old Side language, including the Side alphabet. There is a lovely little shop/cafe for refreshments, with a terrace overlooking the promenade and the sea. Didem, who works there, was very knowledgeable and helpful, and helped me identify various characters depicted in statues, carvings and coins. A brilliant little exhibition!

Definitely worth the visit. It's not a big museum, but it's nicely done.

Joint ticket for museum and archeological site ~ 10€ definitely worth it. Exciting to be on a working site and it wasn’t too difficult to see their strategy for restoration. We didn’t have a guided tour but I guess there is a lot of interesting information being revealed about Side’s history

A beautiful place! The atmosphere of ancient civilization is literally everywhere (!) around you. The route to the Temple of Apollo through the old town of Side is an incredible experience in itself - you literally walk above the ancient city, viewing its ruins through the glass floor beneath your feet. However, I recommend going a bit earlier, perhaps around 5 p.m., because after sunset, the number of tourists is overwhelming, and taking a photo in front of the temple (without hundreds of tourists in the background) is nearly impossible.

Amazing historical remains and well preserved. Peaceful on the coastline and easy walking distance from Side hotels or dolmus station. I used Beam scooters and got here easily and zipped around to see it all - cheap and easy. Nice walkways and signage with history. Feels magical and mystical. Nice walkable and enjoyable ruins with shops and bars dotted around nearby.

Short visit in Side for 5 hours- taxi transfer from hotel to Side and back (in our opinion better than by exchanging buses from hotel-Manavgat center-Side center-return). Harbour area is really nice to be visited, for shopping and eating- many alternatives to be choosed

Stunning Ancient Ruins by the Sea in Side! 🏛️🌅 The Temple of Apollo in Side is absolutely breathtaking — especially at sunset when the sky turns golden behind the historic columns. It’s one of the most iconic spots in the area and perfect for photos or just soaking in the ancient atmosphere. Located right by the sea, it’s easy to reach and surrounded by charming cafes and coastal views. A must-visit if you’re in Side!

3 Euros entrance fee, but they only take Turkish Lira. Toilets on site. You can walk around unsupervised, but you need to have an interest to make it worth the visit.

Great landmark of the classical Roman period of Turkey. Side old town is also very beautiful. I recommend visiting it earlier in the morning (prior to 8:30) when is not that hot and crowded.

Aspendos Theatre is absolutely stunning! The architecture and preservation of the theatre make it one of the most beautiful historical sites I’ve visited. You can really feel the history when standing inside—it’s amazing to imagine the performances that took place here centuries ago. That said, it is quite far from Antalya city, and getting here isn’t the easiest. Taxis are hard to find, especially for the return trip, so I’d recommend arranging transport in advance or coming with a tour group. Overall, a must-visit if you love history and ancient sites—just plan your transportation well!

One, if not THE, best preserved ancient roman theatre in the world. Funny enough, it was thanks to the Ottoman using part as a caravansarail. The acoustics are incredible. The level of details of the marble carving just let you wonder how magnificent it must have been when just completed and fully made of shiny marble.

22/12/2024 I visited the Aspendos Theatre, and it was a truly breathtaking experience. As I walked through the ancient ruins, I couldn't help but think of the iconic song 'Tu Jaane Na' from the Bollywood movie Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. The theatre's stunning architecture and rich history transported me to a bygone era, and I felt a deep connection to the ancient culture of Aspendos. It was a truly unforgettable experience, and I felt grateful to have had the chance to witness the grandeur of this ancient wonder.

It is an entire site not just the theatre, but while the theatere is magnificently preserved, the rest is dust and poorly maintained/exposed ruins. I deducted one star for the poor conditions on the rest of the site. Be aware of disrespectful tourists that have only purpose, to Braga about being photographed there and annoy the other visitors.

An amazing theater in a great shapes after 2 millenia. It was constructed in Roman era in 1st century CE. There are still many marble seats. The acoustics are impressive. Go and sing out loudly. It is about an hour drive from Antalya.

Lol Greco-roman theater still used today while being restored. Spend 30-60 minutes exploring. There are huge segments of a viaduct standing nearby. 5-10 minutes drive from theatre.

i was here for the show "Fires of Anatolia", which was very entertaining, from which the drum performance impressed me the most. the ancient theatre (not amphitheater!) adds the unforgettable atmosphere, you feel the history, you get the greatest sound possible and there is no issue of having a sticking out head in front of you. careful while climbing up and down: millions of feet through the history of this place make stones slippery, especially the lower levels. however, take your time and effort to go to the top to enjoy the colonnade geometry and the theatre view. if you come to watch a show, i recommend to take something soft to sit on: big folded towel would do, or a thick hoodie. otherwise sitting for more than 1 hour on the bare stones is not really nice :)

Visited the canyon with many different waterfalls and went rafting downstream afterwards. We drove the car there ourselves and got ourself a local operator on the spot who offered a personal guide on a private raft for just our group of 5 which was the best decision we made. We negotiated a price of €20p.p. for a total of 2 hours(1hr canyon, 1 hr rafting)+transport back to start point by car. We had time to enjoy the sights, take a dip/ dive in the river multiple time and had an amazing time. The youngest on our group was 9 and the oldest was 60+ but fit and fully mobile. Canyon is doable for elderly as the water is running, but no huge obstacles. The rafting part was a bit wild but also very fun! If you are with family and appreciate private space, rent a car, find your own operator and guide on spot, get a private raft and skip the lines. We noticed a significant amounts of trash on the sides of the river which was sad to see. Please collect all your trash and dispose appropriately.

Put on like, please. Very beautiful and the events are more than wonderful, especially rowing in the river SUVs, but the place is far away and there is no public transport mechanism at all, so it is recommended to rent a car, take a taxi or register with a tourist office.

Came here on a 5in1 activity days. The monster jet boats are awesome! The reps are always trying to upsell you something, photos, safety gear etc but it doesn't ruin a great day out. Dune buggys, white water rafting, zip lining, fishing, jet boats, monster trucks!!! 😀

If you’re looking for a river where you can enjoy some fun and adventure, this is the perfect spot! The water is crystal clear—you can even see the riverbed sparkling under the sunlight. The river isn’t too wild, so it’s an excellent choice for beginners. It was our first time rafting, and we had an amazing experience. We did a combination of activities in the same area, including quad biking, ziplining, and rafting. It was a fantastic day full of excitement and great memories!

The most wonderful place I have ever visited (thanks to Traum Tour company). The best instructor from Sudan (ahah, we still don't remeber name completly, however our comand was the best. Small and rapid waterfalls, a lot of boats, people and fun.

Fabulous canyon lots of walks around great scenery. Can go canoeing or white water rafting.

Beautiful natural wonder right by the Antalya coastline. The waterfalls drop directly into the Mediterranean, which makes for a stunning view, especially at sunset. You can enjoy the sight from nearby parks or take a boat tour for a closer look. Quite crowded during peak hours, but definitely worth visiting if you’re in Antalya.

If you’re into a good walk, try walking from the center of Antalya to the Lower Düden Waterfalls. You’ll see a lot more of the city along the way, and the view at the end is beautiful! If you still have some energy left, you can continue to the sandy beach just behind it. I took the bus back and had a really nice day trip!

Absolutely stunning beauty 🤗 If you are thinking to choose upper or lower please choose this but again my personal opinion. Beautiful has a park around to walk with lots of local vendors plus photo spots, zip liners and restaurant etc… A bit too sunny now so take water and cap/hat to protect from the heat and oh don’t forget the sunscreen, bath in it to guard from the harmful rays but otherwise definitely worth spending 2 hours looking around. You can easily access this place using local transport or taxi fyi. Definitely must visit in Antalya 👍

Worthwhile to see, but it’s a pity we didn’t see the boat to go under the waterfall. If you plan to come by bus, better to visit Lara Beach together with Duden waterfall, because bus KL08 can go to these two places. I heard upper Duden is pretty and has a cave. But did’t manage to visit it.

Very beautiful place, with great nature! Feeling fresh and wet air, especially at 40°C weather. But there are a lot of annoying people, who wants to scam tourists, so be careful and don't sleep!

The beach and sea in Cirali are clean, but there is one thing....these are the people. Cigarette butts are everywhere, plastic is lying around in tons on the sand, bottles, cans and napkins....horrible...despite the fact that 90% of vacationers in Cirali are Turks. Incredible

Aprox 3.3km of beach with beautiful mountains and clear water. The sand is hot so shoes all the time for protection. Water entrance pretty abrupt so it is recommended that kids know how to swim.

It's an amazing and not crowded beach with picturesque surrounding mountains. Meet the sunrise over the Mediterranean sea. The beach is mostly with pebbles mixed with sand. Lots of shopping and dining options in the village. The beach and water are clean. The beach itself is a place where sea turtles Caretta Caretta lay their eggs. The places are marked with small metal pyramid cages. When baby turtles start to hatch they run to the sea. It happens at nights so for the period of hatching the attendance of the beach is closed at night.

This is one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been. The breeding ground for caretta carettas. What a beautiful premise. However it comes with a quite amount of water pollution especially during the noon. Bubbly water due to whatever the boats are getting rid of. Bottle caps, baking paper, plastic bags, cookie wrap, plastic nets. You can find all that in the water. I don't want to know all the things we can not see. Everybody seems to ignore it. Children play in it. People swim by the bags. I guess humans don't deserve this beauty.

You can put a tent on the beach if you don’t mind ships parked nearby. Note that you are not allowed to set up a tent in savanna area as it’s a National park. The savanna is amazing and so unique for this region of Turkey! Perfect for photoshoots and theme activities.

Great beach. Quiet and not crowded. Would recommend the northern or central parts rather than the more crowded southern edge near the Olympos ruins. To access these sections you can just keep walking up the beach or if you have a car there is a road that runs alongside the beach. One of the best beaches of the trip, not overhyped.

Very beautiful, peaceful, pebbly beach. The water temperature is temperate and calm. The lush greenery makes you feel like you are in Thailand.

Incredibly delicious Turkish food. Sedat is a great host and very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. We highly enjoyed the aubergine with meat dish, Adana kebab, and chicken skewers which were all very flavourful, tender, and well cooked. The aubergine was sensational Everything was well seasoned and cooked nicely. The restaurant is also very clean and in a great location in the Old Town

Amazing service, very kind and helpful and honest staff. Both dishes were very tasty, juicy and fresh. The brought us free mezze and yoghurt dip with fresh bread before the food which were tasty as well. After lunch they brought us free tea which was very good too. They will recommend getting salad or soup, or the fresh juice which they also make instead of the bottled juice for example, but up selling is part of any good waiter's job, if you say no they're extremely respectful and polite about it of course. We came for the reviews and we were not let down, we were very vary of not getting scammed while dining in the center but instead they ended up charging us TOO LITTLE, and when I brought it up with the waiter and then the owner that we should be paying MORE they were super friendly and still charged us the lower amount, so we just tipped instead. Ibrahim was out waiter, and unlike other restaurants, these guys didn't ask us to review them but I feel like it's only fair to appreciate their good work amongst so many other tourist traps.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious – fresh, flavorful, and authentically Turkish. The service was excellent, the staff were very welcoming and attentive. What made it even more special was that the owner kindly offered us tea and coffee at the end, free of charge – a lovely gesture of hospitality. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and I will definitely come back again. Highly recommended!

Good restaurant, good service. Went with my wife loved the food, the hosts are really friendly, welcoming. Suggest to have indoor seating as well as there is place inside too, which is unused. The heat can be difficult to have a nice meal.

The adana and urfa kebabs are nice, the soups/lahmacun are good too. I had no issues but based on other peoples experiences check the prices I suppose Portions are a bit small for what you pay but I feel that's the case for most places in old town No free tea for me tho... Anyways my main issue was the shop guy opposite, must have smoked a whole forest as I was trying to enjoy my food

By far the BEST restaurant I’ve visited in Kaleiçi. Every dish is delicious, my personal favorite being the Beyti Kebab with yogurt. The Adana is amazing. The host is very genuine and uplifting, he’s got great energy and a great crew. You will feel very welcomed and you will enjoy your food 100%

Beautiful adventure!! Many natural vents with permanent flames above the ruins of the temple of Hephaistos You must take with you bottles of water and plenty of tissues because you will have so much sweating and become thirsty.. About 1000 meters climbing up with difficulty .. there are many rocks and tortious pathways ..

Make sure you’re QUITE fit and have no mobility issues. Intense 1km climb to the top on a rocky path with huge steps. Make sure it’s not going to rain; the rocks get pretty slippery. If you come close to dusk/night, bring big flashlights and hope you have good night vision. The fire coming out of the mountain is super cool though. Bring marshmallows! It’s about the size of a small campfire. The area at the bottom of the mountain is quite peaceful as well, which was surprising for a tourist attraction. Btw the road leading down to it is a quite windy downhill with many blind curves.

Amazing natural phenomenon. Careful, rocks are polished and slippery, even when dry and dusty. Bring a bright flashlight if you are staying after dark. Take photos after dark under the rocks around the fires.

Easy hike up. 60tl entrance per person, toilet 10tl. Would avoid going up in heat, still manageable.

So someone tells me there’s a place in Turkey where fire literally comes out of the ground. Naturally, I assume it’s one of those tourism exaggerations. Like when a hotel calls their pool “an oasis” and it turns out to be a lukewarm puddle next to a parking lot. Or when you’re promised an “authentic village experience” and get a guy in a tunic selling Pringles. But then I get to Mount Chimaera. And, folks, there ARE flames. Real, actual, unexplained flames just casually shooting out of the rocky hillside like it’s no big deal. No wood. No gas line. No special effects budget. Just fire. Eternal, logic-defying fire. The ancient Greeks looked at this and went, “Yep, monster breath.” And honestly? That explanation makes more sense to me than natural gas seeping through rock fissures or whatever science is trying to say. I still don’t believe what I saw. I kept blinking. I stare at the ground in disbelief a lot but not like this.

The chimera is not so fascinating as advertised. Impressive is the 1 km stair up which takes about 30 min, but very hard to go up. And then on the plato you see four small fires on the small territory. It is so crowded with the tourists that you need to take a queue to make a photo.

20-25 minute hike to see the eternal flame, pretty cool really! Bring some marshmallows to roast over the flames

Visited on August 15, 2025. Paid 40 dollars per person as foreing citizens for just aquarium itself. If booked online via the aquarium’s official site in advance, it costs 36 dollars instead. Overall it was nice but it is a bit pricey for what it offered. It is home to the world’s largest tunnel aquarium, stretching 131 meters in length. Inside, visitors can marvel at a life-size airplane and shipwreck, while coming face to face with majestic sharks.

I bought the full package for a family of three through our travelling agency with access to the Aquarium, Ice World, Wax Museum, Wild life and Cinema. Overall it was a good experience, but definitely more expensive than its actual worth. I guess the logic of the owners is that tourists are willing to pay more for something they will visit only once in their lifetime (typical Turkish bankrupt mentality). Of course, it wouldn't be Turkey if they wouldn't try to also fish some more money from you: at the entrance in the Aquarium, they take your photos and give you a card with a code bar. When you exit, you can only do it by scanning the code bar and they give you an option to purchase a series of photos for 50 euros or less for individual items (15 euros for a fridge magnet with your photo).

The aquarium itself was very beautiful. Nothing too different from the others we've been, but still worth to visit if you're there. But the kids were absolutely amazed with the snow room. It's tiny, but has a few ice slides and a cosy little cafeteria.

As others have mentioned, this place is massively overpriced for what it offers. We purchased the full tickets, but left feeling underwhelmed. The aquarium is small and unimpressive—probably the most interesting part is the “shark feeding”, though you’ll mostly see other fish with a few small sharks mixed in. There’s also an option to feed the sea rays (for an extra fee, of course), which some may find entertaining. The wildpark felt more like an adoption center for leftover reptiles, with a heavy focus on ball pythons. While there are some larger snakes like anacondas, the overall variety wasn’t much better than the aquarium. The Oceanride XD cinema was a decent addition and helped fill time between stops, but again, it’s overpriced for what you get. The wax museum wasn’t for me—some figures didn’t even resemble the real people. Overall, this feels like just another tourist trap in Turkey: high prices, minimal value. It might still appeal to those who haven’t traveled much, haven’t been to major aquariums/zoos, or simply don’t mind spending extra. But for most travelers, it’s not worth the time or money—you can safely skip it.

The aquarium is nice, but honestly, I think it's overpriced. It has a lot of animals, but it's quite small — you only need around 30 minutes to complete the tour. Kids will love it though, and there's also a play area for them. However, I was really sad to see the penguins’ wings tied. I think that’s so cruel!

A great place to visit with kids! There's a wide variety of sea creatures from around the world, and the underwater tunnel is especially beautiful—it really gives you that immersive experience. One highlight is the impressive large shark, which was amazing to see up close. However, I do think they could add more types of fish, especially in the tunnel area. The ticket price is on the higher side; I've visited larger aquariums that were more affordable. Still, if you're in Antalya with children, it's definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful and well designed aquarium with huge tunnel. A lot of different species of fish and aquatic ecosystem. Great place to visit with kids as it has got snow world, 8D cinema, and a wild park. The only downside is that it is overpriced making it a tourist trap.

Great experience. Was £36 each 6/9/25. Cable carts hold roughly 30 people. You can spend along as you want at the top. Mosque was closed, expo space was closed. Parking free at bottom. Nice road to the cable cart. Had fun racing up and down. Be careful as no barriers and if you go off you're probably dead.

Taking the Olympos Teleferik sounded exciting, but unfortunately, the weather wasn’t on our side. When we reached the top, everything was covered in thick fog we could barely see anything! It was a bit disappointing, especially since the ticket is quite pricey. If you plan to visit, definitely check the weather forecast beforehand. On a clear day, the view must be absolutely stunning, but in foggy conditions, you miss out on what makes the trip special. Most of the other activities at the top were also closed because of the weather. All in all, it was still an experience, but I wouldn’t go again. Once is enough and next time, I’d make sure to visit on a sunny day!

Excellent cable car ride. We didn’t have long to explore at the top though before we had to go sadly as we were accosted by the photographers who said there was no obligation to buy. We said no thank you numerous times and then gave in because they wouldn’t leave us alone. After having photos done in an out of bounds section at the top, the photographer took us to show us the photos. Even just one photo was 17 Euros alone so we declined even though they were very good. Despite not being obligated to buy, the photographer was not happy with us and pulled his face at us which I felt was rude. The gift shop was a little expensive but very good. The coffee shop was good value but staff were a little ignorant, looking me up and down. I enjoyed the cable car ride down. Recommended just to see the views alone.

Great place, beautiful views. Suitable for kids, gets crowded after a while but still very much worth it. Better to get the tickets online rather than local guides as it's cheaper.

To get to the lift there is a 20 min car journey from the road. The cable car is large and takes about 30 people. The height covered is so big that my es ached from the pressire changes. The view st the top was amazing. Take a jacket as it is cold. The building is spacious and the food adequate.

We went there with a rented car. Car broke down 800m from destination. Staff were very helpfull and found a man thats had jump leads to start the car and helped with this regard. Great views, and surprisingly cheaper prices on top of the mountain than at the bottom.

Great view - really nice excursion. However, the price tag is a bit high. We paid a bit below 200 € for 3 adults and two kids. The view is fantastic. Combine it with Paragliding and it is really worth it 👍.

Beautiful park overseeing the canyon. 1.9 km of trekking either through the forest (there is sign on the tree) or through the dirt road where there is many 4x4 driving with tourists both ways every few minutes but it didn’t bother us as the views were much better. At the end there are bars and restaurants and beautiful pond with turquoise water and view to the mountains and stream. Too commercial for us but nature is spectacular and there is few spots where you can find peace and quiet.

Definitely a must-see around Kemer. A beautiful canyon, stunning nature, and crystal-clear water. The trail is suitable for everyone — nothing challenging here. The entrance fee is $5 or 200 TRY. There are restaurants at the beginning and the end, but they’re quite expensive — a beer costs around $8. It’s worth coming early in the morning before the crowds arrive. We visited off-season, and there were only a few people besides us, but as we were leaving, tour buses started to arrive.

Approx 5 km hike back and forth. Entrance 5 eur. All canyon is wired with zip-lines, they cost 25 eur, but I did not see anyone using them. At the very end of the route you can go rafting, also 25 eur. I did not so nothing to say about that. I have came on foot from Goynuk hotels area, that took me 3 hours with total 17 km (depends on location of your hotel), totally doable if you like and able to hike. Visited on 5th of November, not many people, cafes also already nor working.

Ziplining was amazing! For the boat trip you should really go in the morning, because of clearer waters. Very friendly staff. You should negotiate for buying the picture and videos tho. The food was very delicious.

Very, very beautiful. We came by minibus from Beldibi and walked. The views are stunning. There are cafes, toilets. I recommend everyone to go on a wonderful hike

Real nature attraction must visit. Boat trip is recommended as well. Perfectly organised. One can take a car to get up.

This place is a ruin, highly recommend it! Worth visiting even when weather is bad, it still amazes. And there were almost no people around.

You should definitely visit. The fountain is still active and there are 2 of them actively running. Site area is very big so if you want to make a detailed site seeing, be prepeared. But if you just want to see fundamentals its also fine. You can also find Hereon which is rare to see. Theater is eligible to enter. Don’t forget to go for Nekrapolis which is a bit far.

Amazing site. Well worth the trek. And it is a trek to get from the lower city to the upper city. The water of the restored fountain are ice cold and will refresh you in the hot Turkish sun. Truly one of the most amazing ruins I've seen.

A true feeling of ruins set within mountain wilderness. Virtually no tourists, meaning one can enjoy the site largely to oneself. Though not as extensive as other sites in this part of Anatolia, an easily manageable visit in the morning or afternoon. Seek out the restored fountain in the main agora.

Sagalassos is one of the best preserved ancient cities in Turkey and has received provisional acceptance to enter the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List. Great place. Great views. It isn't Ephesus yet but has got lots of potential to be one. Hopefully people will keep visiting and governments will have an interest to further develop it. Apparently,only 15% of Sagalassos is excavated yet. A lot more to do.

We drove from Antalya to Salda Lake, and the drive was smooth and easy, with clear roads. The lake itself is visible from a distance, but the main tourist area is a bit further inside. Positives: •Great for Photography: The lake offers stunning views that are perfect for photography enthusiasts. •Fresh Air: The surroundings are refreshing, providing a great escape into nature. •Beautiful Views: The lake’s unique turquoise waters make for an amazing sight. Improvement: •Cleanliness of Shoreline: While the lake is beautiful overall, the shore could be cleaner. Extra Note: Be cautious of honey bees in the area. One seemed especially interested in my wife, leaving her with a memorable sting! A picturesque spot with minor drawbacks, Salda Lake is worth visiting for nature lovers and photographers.

I thought it was underwhelming but my wife thought it was great. It was on the way to Pamukkale from Sagalassos so worth a short detour. We just waded in, but some people were swimming. I can't say I noticed any special healing powers ;)

Beautiful tranquil lake. Not crowded when I visited in an October afternoon.

We were pretty hyped about coming here after reading it. The lake is a unique experience, but was not exactly what we thought. We went to a campground on the NW side of the lake and there was a sign saying "Prohibited entry to lake" with no exploration as to why. We didn't know if it was due to no lifeguard or because of something harmful in the water. We continued to drive around to the east side where there is a restaurant. We ate there (better food than expected) and they said we could get in the lake, which the kids did. All in all it's a neat experience, but we didn't see anything around the lake that actually talked about the significance of it. And there wasn't a single dock; we didn't see any boats, canoes, etc.

What an amazing nature and beauty about this place which is unbelievable, lake is super huge and we went from one corner to another even the village is so beautiful while going to Salda Lake. A must place to visit and also there restaurants and coffee shops around some key spots with restroom facilities.

This is my second visit to this site. Many believe that in just a few years, this site my rival Ephesus. It's amazing to have an ancient site with TWO theaters! I wish there were strategic rest places.

Wonderful site but the welcome centre or shop has prohibitive prices like the entrance fees as well. One star deducted for that. This is a site worth visiting as most tourists go to Hierapolis/Pemukkale travertine site. The site is currently continuing the renovation and discovery of further parts of the city. A wonderful walk in the history but bring you own water or be prepared to be paying premium price for water or beverages.

Laodicea is a great place for a stroll through the ancient city: spacious ruins, an impressive amphitheater, and beautiful mosaics. Few tourists, so you can explore in peace. Bring comfortable shoes, water, and a hat—it's hot in the summer. Half a day is enough for exploring, I recommend it. Turtles are also spotted.

This place is absolutely a must see if your in the area. Its huge and so many great spots for pictures. You can view mosaic floors and a huge painted wall. So many columns and tge views from the hill into the valley are amazing.

This ancient city is absolutely amazing! Entrance was 12 euro per person. I believe it is well worth the fee. There is so much to see. You have freedom to walk around an explore as much as you want to.

Not very busy. Lots of walking and ruins to see. The Basilica is very interesting (and is covered from the sun). There are no trees, wear a hat.

Another must-see archeological site. İt is about a 3hrs drive from Izmir. What impressed me the most was the 170mt pool, it is unrestored now but I hope it will be one day. One remark: the museum building is closed to visitors.

One of the most fascinating places I have ever been to. Absolutely stunning peace's with very well preserved parts. I loved the masks wall and also the pool at the main square. Don't miss the Theatre. Less expensive (€12) and much less crowded than Ephesus

Enchanting archeological site. Some buildings are in incredible good state and the visit is very enjoyable as there aren’t crowds of tourists.

The archeological site is fantastic, interesting and beautiful. You can easily spend there 2 hours. Take some water and a hat, as it can be very hot on the sun. However, the Museum is currently closed...and this was very dissapointing.

Absolutely beautiful, well-preserved and off the beaten path. Low crowds mean you can walk on and around the ruins. Come early and explore in near silence and solitude.

We had limited time and we were not sure if we should include this in our itinerary, but we did and we were delighted. Way less crowded than Ephesus, and from my point of view experientially deeper and easier to immerse into the history of the place without the tour busses. Though smaller than Ephesus, the 170 m long swimming pool must have been a treat, and Aphrodisias had plenty of water the gardens were reportedly magnificent. Definitely a City I may have wanted to live in back in the day…
