The area around Lagazuoi is also perfect for hiking and offers well-maintained trails that are enjoyable in both summer and winter. Ski resort
Ski Area Tofana (Socrepes) is part of the larger Cortina ski area, offering 120km of pistes across three distinct and diverse ski areas. The stunning scenery features red-tinged peaks and the famous Enrosadira alpenglow phenomenon. It's possible to link into the vast Sella Ronda ski area from Lagazuoi.
I was tempted not to post at all. We come to Cortina twice a year (always avoiding school holidays). On the negative side, the chair lifts are now slow and old and could do with an upgrade. Balance this against the absolutely stunning scenery, the snow-sure slopes, very friendly and helpful Dolomiti staff and most importantly there is almost no one else here. Incredibly quiet slopes (almost like a private resort). You never have to queue for a chair lift or a table (Monday to Friday). There is currently a huge amount of development going on down in the town as they prepare for next year's Olympics, and this may well mean that the area becomes busier for a couple of seasons. A "hidden" gem that I would much rather keep to myself!
Miles H — Google review
This is a good area for beginner and intermediate skiers. There is a magic carpet for lessons along with a nice beginner chair lift. Take the free ski bus instead of driving however, as the parking is a mess!
Bob G — Google review
Fabulous! Variety of slopes. Beautiful views. Many spots for drinks and snacks. What else do you need?
Tomáš Š — Google review
lots of good intermediate trails for beginners and experienced skiers. Has very good connections to other parts of the mountain that offer more challenging trials.
Robert K — Google review
Amazing resort, almost no queues to the lifts, beautiful views, interesting pistes, great bars and a party with a DJ in the afternoon.
Katarzyna K — Google review
If you ask me they should invest in some better ski lifts (no 6 or 8 people, max 4, no heated seats, etc), because this is terrible, at peak hours very very busy, waiting time over 15 minutes which in todays day and age not acceptable... Otherwise friendly staff, well prepaired slopes, but waiting time terrible...
Ales S — Google review
Good slopes. Very calm during weekdays. Suring weekend you have apres ski. Family friendly

Cinque Torri is a stunning rock formation consisting of five towers that attract visitors for activities like hiking, climbing, and skiing. It is a popular tourist destination for both summer and winter holidays, offering quick access to various ski areas and resorts in the Dolomites. The area also boasts breathtaking mountain views and spas. Visitors can explore the region's historical significance, including bunkers from World War I.
50 euros for a gondola ride for two adults and one child in July (both ways). There’s a bar and a restaurant on top which serves great food. Not cheap but all well worth the money.
DaMiaN B — Google review
Five stars aren't enough to gratify this grandieuse natural show. The stone towers are easily accessible for almost everyone. There is a thrilling pathway winding through the stones offering a close experience.
Horia B — Google review
Visited in late September, foggy and rainy weather created moody views. Even with limited visibility, the rock formations looked impressive. The WWI trenches and open-air museum add interesting history to the hike.
Laima — Google review
The lift was closed, so I drove up to the parking lot near 5 Torri. The road is quite steep and narrow, and parking spaces are very limited. Some hikers walk all the way from the base, but unless you’re well-prepared, I’d strongly recommend taking the lift instead. It takes about 1–2 hours to explore the peaks and wartime bunkers, with both easy and more challenging trails available. This was my absolute favorite destination in the Dolomites — the scenery and atmosphere were truly unforgettable.
Kyoowan Y — Google review
Perfect place for a walk (even with children) 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒👍 You can take a cable car here and then enjoy trekking with beautiful views from the mountains. One trek is around Cinque Torri, so you can see the rocks from all sides Plus, there's a great restaurant at the top of the cable car 😉
Michal V — Google review
One of the most beautiful hikes from Dolomites. There was big queue for the chairlift so we took the hike trail that was going underneath the chairlift. It is not very difficult hike.
Vladut P — Google review
We went with a guide to hike the cinque torri. The trails themselves were not that bad in terms of elevation, they were clearly marked and wide. We saw a lot of people who were much older than us managing easily. There is a cable car up to the trails which made the hike easy. There is a great WW1 open air museum with plaques in italian and english and german. My wife and I looked at the wikipedia article "Winter War" about this conflict between the italians and austrians which did a great job explaining the whole war theater. Gorgeous views (pictured).

War museum
Sights & Landmarks
The Museum Of The Great War is a historically significant place with an extensive and captivating exhibition about the mountain fighting in the First World War. Despite some technical issues with card payments, visitors are greeted warmly at the entrance. The museum provides a sobering reminder of the harsh realities of war, dispelling any romanticized notions. Additionally, nearby bunkers and trenches offer an immersive experience, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the conditions soldiers endured during this tumultuous time.
A sobering history reminder that removes any romantic ideas one might have of the First World War. We hiked the nearby bunkers and trenches which added to the experience. Walking along those and viewing the mountains and the valleys through the "windows" in the rock leaves a lasting impression.
Gudmundur J — Google review
A unique small museum, set in the remains of an Austrian fort at the frontline that saw heavy Italian bombardments during the Great War, situated amidst the peaks that were the theatre of some of the fiercest and bloodiest fighting humanity has seen. Hundreds of objects on display, of all kinds, mostly found in the battlefields by the family of "recuperanti" ("retrievers") that amassed the collection. An hour or easily even more (like in our case) of learning and reflection. Note: it can get quite crammed in high season.
Marco — Google review
This place is so much more than the Museum itself, they have preserved the trenches and paths to get to them all over the area.
Zachary D — Google review
The most beautiful open air museum in the Dolomites. I enjoyed every step here and the views are great everywhere you look. I definitely recommend visiting.
Otilia-Elena P — Google review
Museum is average but becomes more meaningful when walking the Austrian positions just in 10-minute walk distance.
B C — Google review
Really big collection and beautiful surroundings. The display was a little old fashioned, i would have preferred more stories of the human experience and less 'piles of things'. Also I didn't think the display of human remains was respectful. And no need for the nazi memorabilia either...
Ben W — Google review
Very nice hike. Very interesting museum explaining dreadful conditional in which soldiers lived during the war.
Jordi F — Google review
Overpriced. Unprofessional. Chaotic exhibition. Infinite amount of items without any provided explanation or context. Stop by, enjoy the view and the building from the outside. Also, POS not working.

Italian restaurant
Located in the outskirts of Cortina, Al Camin is a popular restaurant known for its classic Italian dishes with modern twists. The cozy rustic ambiance makes it a favorite among both locals and tourists. The restaurant offers an excellent wine selection and is highly recommended for those looking to experience fine dining in the area. With its friendly atmosphere and international cuisine, Al Camin promises an unforgettable culinary experience in the beautiful surroundings of Cortina.
We had a lovely dinner at Al Camin. The setting is cozy. The food was delicious especially the venison ravioli—well presented and full of flavor. The staff was friendly and made us feel welcome. Overall, a great place for a special meal in Cortina.

Al Carmine is a restaurant that keeps you coming back for more. The staff was fantastic, offering charming and warm service from the moment we were welcomed until the very end of our meal. The food was truly amazing. My tripe, in particular, was so beautifully prepared, you could tell it was cooked with care and love.

Lovely restaurant up on a hill at Cortina d’Ampezzo. We had a late lunch at 1 pm and the crowd was moderate. The food is hearty and tasty. Do try their venison dishes. The restaurant is really good with their venison dishes. Definitely one of the better Alpine food we have tasted.

We were extremely tired from travelling and jet-lagged and this place was a great comforting spot. Food was warm and delicious. We had the gnocchi and lamb. Service was also excellent. They treated us with great service, not caring how we dressed (like typical tourist with bagpacks).

Our friends brought us here for dinner. That was our best dinner of the week!

Amazing food - we loved the beetroot ravioli, the prawn curry with black rice and the venison ravioli. The owner’s wife was very hospitable - would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Cortina.

The best meal we had in Italy, hands down. The deer with raspberries is a MUST! Everything we ate was jaw-dropping and we can’t stop talking about it. I will be dreaming about this meal! The restaurant itself was cozy and upscale, like an elevated mountain lodge. The staff also made my birthday very special with a candle in our dessert. Thank you, Al Camin!
Stephanie L — Google review
Michelin level dishes and service without Micheline price. We had the blueberry gnocchi with deer ragu, veal cheek , passion fruit cream in vegetable soup and tart with meringue strawberry. They are all delicious in its own ways. The Veal cheek is so good and the meat basically melt in your mouth. I had to ask them how to prepare for it and see if I can duplicate it at home. The server patiently went through the cooking detail for this particular dish for me.

Bed & breakfast
Nestled 2 km from the center of Cortina, beneath the slopes of Mount Faloria, is the charming Baita Fraina restaurant. Meanwhile, at Ristorante Il Campanile in Alvera, guests can savor a cozy rustic atmosphere. The restaurant boasts an impressive wine list featuring renowned Tuscan labels and Bordeaux-like excellence. Additionally, it is run by the Menardi family who also operate a wine shop in town.
We spent a week in the guesthouse during our winter vacation. Family guesthouse with very friendly staff and good access to the center of Cortina and downhill skiing (you have to drive about 15 minutes to the parking lot by the slope), the guesthouse has delicious breakfasts and very comfortable equipment (the beds and mattresses are wide and comfortable), the guesthouse has enough parking spaces. The cleanliness was perfect. The prices for accommodation here in the Cortina area are on a lower level, but it is a guesthouse not a hotel (perhaps it is better to describe the guesthouse as a mountain hut). For us this was perfect choice.
Petr M — Google review
Very clean, great views, good value. Delicious breakfast! Everyone was very nice. Except the manager - she was a bit annoying, made faces and rolled her eyes on a couple of occasions - just not a pleasant person. Otherwise the rest of the staff were extremely sweet and helpful

Stayed a couple of nights in June. Service was excellent. We had one meal in the restaurant which was great, little pricey but excellent food. Great morning breakfast. Location worked well for day excursions. The view was awesome from the hotel location. Room was comfortable and clean. My only complaint is the one lane path you drive up to get there.
Dan L — Google review
I’m Italian and as most of my fellow citizens, I love and appreciate, great food very much! This restaurant was great!Everything we had was delicious and the ambience is a dream, exactly the warm, tasteful atmosphere you would love and expect to find in this area! All wooden, antique hand painted heaters, every detail and decor is perfectly placed! Most importantly we really loved the food, one of the best restaurants we found in Cortina!Food is more elevated and refined than your typical local restaurant in the area, but it combines perfectly tradition with an elevated accent!Thank you for the experience, we’ll definitely come back!
Giovanna P — Google review
This is a review of the restaurant. So we asked for a reservation and they said they were fully booked except for one left at 7:45. We got here at 7:45 and we were one of two groups that were here. A total of no more than eight people were here. For the remainder of the next 1.5 hrs, nobody showed up. We had to sit in the back room because they were too busy for us at 7:45 ( mind you only 6 people here). So we had to sit in a room. We could not sit outside, even though there was plenty of seating. It was absolutely shocking to see this. That being said, the food definitely was worth it as much as I would like to give them three stars, for the fact that they stuck us in a back room when nobody was in the restaurant, the food definitely was worth the five stars. The first course was homemade deer Prosciutto served with homemade horseradish and pickles. It was a small serving of bread that was absolutely amazing. The second course included homemade pasta made with local cheeses. Also very good! The main course was the play, which was by far the most tender, flavorful beef we’ve ever had . I highly recommend you get it . The second main course was polenta with a cream sauce, shaved with black truffles and chanterelles. A poached egg on top. I have to say that that was the most delicious polenta I’ve ever had A bottle of wine and they have a very good selection of wine here ranging from €30-€700 . Definitely a must try while here in Cortina D’‘ampzzo. The chef’s name is Luca Menadri and and he has obviously been more trained in the culinary arts. But just remember, you might end up in the back room with no view with an entirely empty at restaurant if you don’t reserve in advance !
T C — Google review
This place is absolutely amazing! On the outside, the hotel itself is beautiful and the fact that it’s surrounded by views of the mountains makes it extra special. Inside the hotel is cozy and beautifully detailed, the rooms are very clean and they provided us with razors, shampoo, hair caps for the shower, and more. We chose to eat in the hotel restaurant, and let me just say, this is the BEST food I have ever eaten! They gave us each a complimentary beat soup which was out of this world delicious (didn’t know soup could taste this good), and the service was amazing, staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is great too, only a 5 minute drive from the main part of town. If you’re looking for a place to stay, or even just a place to eat out, this place is it! Would happily stay here, and eat here again.

Pastry shop
Lovat Bar Pasticceria is a historic meeting spot in the center of Cortina, offering a charming blend of traditional and comforting treats. This patisserie with its gelateria and bar serves a delightful range of cakes, brioches, biscuits, and savory snacks. Their gastronomic selection is well-considered and straightforward, complemented by an array of hot chocolate, infusions, coffee, and cold beverages.
We had a short stop in Cortina and grabbed ice cream to stroll a bit. There was a queue, but still places to sit. The price for a scoop of Ice cream was 2 Eur, which is cheap in 2025.
Eldora C — Google review
Best Hot Chocolate in Cortina! Lovat serves the richest, creamiest hot chocolate in Cortina—thick, velvety, and deeply chocolatey. Every sip is pure indulgence, especially with a dollop of fresh whipped cream. Perfect for a cozy après-ski treat, this is hot chocolate done right!
Veronica M — Google review
I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the pastry shop and team room Lovat in Cortina. I had a tasty torta della nonna there. There is a nice veranda section overlooking a street.
Eric D — Google review
A busy spot for dessert and coffee. The gelato was amazing. As for the staff—perhaps they’d had a long day dealing with tourists. There was a slight bitterness in their tone, although they appeared more pleasant when interacting with Italian-speaking guests. This stood out as an unusual experience for me in this region.
Mohamed I — Google review
Great place for a sweet break while strolling the Cortina D'Ampezzo city centre. Quick and kind service. The ice-cream Copa Spiritosa we ordered was pretty good but not outstanding.
Horia B — Google review
Great spot that was open and friendly staff. Sache Torte , good cheesecake and ice cream. Most other places were closed as it was 2pm but we were not disappointed and left there on a sugar rush

Good coffee and nice millifoglia a bit chaotic, okay for a quick drink

Loved the strachiatella icecream and the lactose-free options for the coffee. The coffee itself is also one of the better ones in Cortina. Just be mindful that when you take something to go, you're expected to actually go. Not an issue, just something to keep in mind when you decide whether to have your order at the table or to go.

Pizza restaurant
Italian restaurant
Restaurant Pizzeria “Al Passetto” is a cozy spot with a chalet-themed space and wooden decor, offering wood-fired pizza and delightful desserts like gelato or tiramisu. Despite its unassuming appearance, it's known for serving some of the best pizza in town. Additionally, it caters to gluten-intolerant individuals. Located above the main street, this restaurant provides great pizza at a reasonable price and does not require reservations, making it a convenient choice for visitors.
First, let’s say we were looking for a restaurant with ok prices, hard to find in this city. Not sure what we would find. Then, the place looked really nice, with awesome decorations (original flames from the Olympics). And finally, the food: Pizzas are really good, and so are the pastas! Such a good choice!
Stephan V — Google review
Very nice place and great atmosphere. We had Caprese salad, Pizza pepperoni and Pasta. The Pizza was very good and treat was okay. We really liked the desserts, mainly the Tiramisu. I really like the fact that there were a lot of Gluten Free dessert options 👍
Amit B — Google review
Pizza sfaria is really good! Recommended if you are in Cortina. There are many old and recent Olympic torches which is very interesting. It took some time to have the staff to take my order though.
Desyanti T — Google review
We came here for pizza, and the food itself was very good nicely made pizza with great flavor and good wine to go with it. The restaurant is nicely situated, and the interior has a cozy, relaxed vibe. Unfortunately, the service really brought down the experience. We felt mistreated by the staff not sure if it was because we were wearing hiking clothes (which is strange, considering it’s a hiking region), but the attitude toward us was unpleasant and made us feel unwelcome. It’s a shame, because the food was great, but I wouldn’t go back given how we were treated.
Rihab B — Google review
You must eat here! We ate here two nights in a row and would have eaten here again if they weren’t closed on Wednesdays! Pasta - delicious Pizza - divine Calzone - delectable Salad with chicken - yummmmm Tiramisu - 🤤🫠❤️ Nutella & pine nut pizza - 2😵4 They have a GF certificate, so they know their stuff and are careful. The MAJORITY of their desserts are GF, which is a rarity, but they’re also scrumptious. I’ve not had a tiramisu in over 13 years, but I got to eat one here! The staff are all helpful, friendly, and the perfect level of attentive. Prices are great. House wine is wonderful. My husband said the pizza with the super thin bacon that he had was amazing because you got the bacon flavor without all the bacon grease. I lovelovelove this place!

Stumbled across this restaurant that had amazing reviews. The food was an experience, delicately prepared pairing of flavors to make each dish unique and honestly, perfect. The food is absolutely worth it. Sadly the service didn’t match the food. Upon walking in, my partner and I did not feel welcomed( we are here on holiday.) They sat us, waited quite a bit of time to order, and again food was perfection. When the bill came, we were asked if we wanted to tip, even though they had asked no one else if they wanted to tip. It felt as if we were being taken advantage of for being foreigners. We tipped anyway because it was awkward to say no, and then faces were made from the staff as we walked out of the restaurant. Again food amazing, atmosphere amazing, the service was disappointing because it was very clear they weren’t a fan of us being foreigners . Go anyway, the food is worth it , just be cautious if your not from Italy
