Very good museum, good selection of Art.

Not so much to see,saw Picasso exhibition on the website,unfortunately was closed on Saturday afternoon.Only handful of impressionists paintings,for me only interesting 2 paintings.Other exhibition not for me,maybe after Lsd would be more interesting visually😜Rather dissapointed for 7€ entrance fee

Nice not to busy museum with a really great collection of paintings. You will find all the great names here: Monet, Picasso, Degas, Van Gogh, Leger, Warhol. Staff is very friendly too.

Nice museum with incredible exibizions offer. If you are in city you should visit it and I enjoy it offer. Price of the exhibition is a bit high comparing to most of museums of similar style in Germany yet with what does it safe for us it is acceptable. Very pleasant visiz

The Wuppertaler Zoo offers a truly enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages, especially families with young children. The natural environment enhances the overall experience and makes for a pleasant day outdoors. The variety of animals is impressive, ranging from native European species to exotic creatures. While the zoo does boast a considerable selection, I did notice that some iconic African wildlife such as giraffes were missing, which might be a minor letdown for visitors hoping for a complete “safari” experience. Nevertheless, the animals that are present are housed in thoughtfully designed enclosures. Among the highlights: • The ape enclosure is particularly engaging, offering good visibility and space for the animals to display natural behaviors. • The elephant habitat is well-maintained and spacious, with a layout that allows for good viewing without disturbing the animals. • The penguin enclosure deserves a special mention for its well-crafted and immersive design, which simulates their natural environment effectively. Children are especially well catered for at Wuppertaler Zoo. The petting zoo, home to friendly goats and donkeys, is a delightful and interactive area for kids. There are also several playgrounds scattered throughout the zoo, which provide fun breaks between animal exhibits and allow younger visitors to burn off energy. There is an on-site restaurant, which offers a decent selection of meals and refreshments. The food is of good quality, but it is slightly on the expensive side, so budget-conscious visitors may wish to plan accordingly. Overall, the Wuppertaler Zoo provides a relaxing and enriching outing, especially for families. The combination of nature, education, and play makes it a destination well worth visiting.

Great, natural-like grounds with large enclosures and plenty of retreat space for the animals. Due to the hillside location, there is a lot of going up and down, but you can rent wagons for small children. Many lovingly designed playgrounds are scattered throughout the area, so the little ones can let off steam in between. There is also plenty of shade from trees, including small wooded sections. The zoo restaurant offers a good compromise between your typical currywurst/fries and delicious, healthy dishes at a fair price.

Dislikes : Quite unimpressed to have visited the zoo 1) Imagine an Orangutan covering itself under cloth, though it has so much free space to explore 2) Silver-back gorillas were kept in such a small enclosure. It stood up and kept looking at me, I felt a lot of guilt and stopped taking anymore pics of it. Felt some of them were sad / lonely. Few enclosures were empty. These are purely my perspective. Positives : Zoo was tidy and well maintained, no complaints. Lots of green space to walk around. There were some live music by elderly people, big respect. With a bit of walking, one can easily cover the entire Zoo within few hours. Penguin enclosure and bird aviary are a must go. The restaurant was equally good

Very nice zoo, nice setup and a lot of animals you don’t see in most other zoos. Kids up to 14 have free entrance, with tripper there is a nice discount. Going there with the Wuppertaler Schwebebahn makes it extra exciting.

I really enjoyed the layout of this place. I particularly enjoyed looking at the elephants and seals. The park is large so there is a lot of walking but well worth walking. There are plenty of places to sit and take rest. There are food and drinks available and enjoyed my lunch. Staff are friendly and approachable. I enjoyed visiting this gem just inside Wuppertal.

One of the best zoos I’ve visited! The Antarctic zone was an amazing experience 👌. They have super spacious enclosures for tigers, lions, and elephants. First time seeing a kangaroo too!

It was good, area was beautiful, green and full of trees, but the route inside the zoo had a lot of ups and downs, and with a stroller it was sometimes breathtaking. As we went to Cologn and Duisburg zoo as well, this one compared to other two seemed smaller with fewer animal species.

Splendid Gardens overlooking Wuppertal. Beautiful gardens full of different plants and trees. Most plants had identification signs with the plant name for reference. Some interesting buildings too, and plenty of seats and benches to sit and take in the natural beauty. There's a café for refreshments. All good, we enjoyed it. Thank you. 😎👍👍👍👍

I visited the Wuppertal Botanical Garden on June 19, 2025, during the heart of summer, and it was a truly beautiful experience. The garden is spacious and well-maintained, offering plenty of room to walk, explore, or simply relax amidst nature. Whether you're a plant enthusiast or just looking for a peaceful retreat, this place is perfect. What stood out most to me was the variety of plant species and the serene atmosphere. Despite its size, the garden is easy to navigate and offers a good balance between open lawns and shaded paths. I spent several hours there, staying until the evening, and the changing light made the landscape even more charming. Since I visited on a weekday, the crowd was minimal, which made the experience even more enjoyable. It felt like having a quiet, green escape right in the middle of the city. I highly recommend a visit to the Wuppertal Botanical Garden, especially in summer. It's an ideal spot for a walk, a quiet afternoon, or even photography.

This botanical garden is over the mountain with beautiful greenery and flowers. Pretty good for hiking. Quite big enough to walk. Suitable to make picnic in summer. Entry free. There's a cafe which is also very beautiful to enjoy the circumstances and coffee at the same time.

We drove 3 hours to get to this wonderful park filled with art and nature.

Peaceful and quiet place to connect bothe nature and art. The climb from town to the park might be a bit challenging, but once you got there, the pace is slowing down. Only downside are the somewhat high admission fees (EUR 13)

Wonderful sculpture park set in lovely forest landscape. The brainchild of local German-British artist Tony Cragg (born 1949), the park also includes artworks by Henry Moore, Joan Miro, Thomas Schütte, Ulrich Rückriem, Jaume Plensa, Georg Baselitz, Per Kirkeby, Sean Scully, and others. The restaurant at the entrance, Café Podest, is lovely too.

Interesting, but not great. Most sculptures are by the same person, & it shows. Has a certain talent however very little range. Once you have seen one or two of the pieces, you really have pretty much seen them all. Several of the sculptures in municipal settings around the area too are very obviously by the same artist. We have been to far better sculpture parks.

Beautiful huge park with beautiful flowers and sprawling lawns. Lovely to walk around and if you are tired, there are many benches or you can even sit on the grass. Note that it has a lot of elevations. There is enough place to social distance. There is also a botanical garden inside but it was closed. The restaurant was open. It also has a public toilet. Parking is available.

Cool park on a steep hill, consider lots of climbing if you decide going here, but it will be worthwhile when you reach the top! It has a botanical garden, gorgeous flowers and some interesting tower-like buildings and historical statues! Wuppertal has really great parks and they rarely neglect them!!! P.S. At some parts of the park is under construction so keep that in mind.

Best park in Wuppertal by far. It has amazing spots for sunbathing and playing, and so much nature to see and stare at. In spring it gets really beautiful with its flowers and blooming trees, and it becomes a place of meeting for families and couples. The botanical gardens attached to the park are lovely as well, definitely worth a visit in spring or summer.

A "must see" for all Wuppertal visitors! Bring a blanket, make a picnic, play guitar or frisbee, have breakfast in Café Elise.... Don't forget to visit the botanical garden and enjoy the nice view over Wuppertal from Elisenturm.

It is a very calm and nature friendly place. You can meet with friends or just enjoy the great nature and take a healthy breath there. Many seats are available to sit down and public toilets are usable for free. During summer time you can also go picnicking. The place can also be reached by bus if you don't want to walk up the hill.

Gorgeous park in Wuppertal. There is several ways to get to the top, it worth to find them. There is a Biergarten on the top of the hill. Sit there to rest with a good beer makes your day perfect.

Packed on a Wednesday evening. Book if you want to be sure to get a table. Food: it‘s regional plus a few international alternatives like burgers. The knuckle of pork is soft and boiled, not crispy like in south Germany and that is the way it should be here. The side salads are part fresh and part from a jar like the beans. Again, typical for the area. Saute potatoes are cooked in oil and butter, not deep fried like McDonald chips. Please understand that this is regional food how it‘s been done for decades and not an attempt at Michelin classed meals. Always been happy there on various trips enjoying the food I grew up with. If you are from a different country and expect the food to be like where you come from, don‘t go there. If you want to try local food and are open to different tastes it‘s a good place to go.

This is the best place for traditional German cuisine. It’s also great they take credit cards as we found out some shops and restaurants only take cash. We had a feast eating schnitzel with mushrooms and our appetizer was delicious. Decent selection of beer along with a couple of local brews. They mostly speak German but they did have a waitress who understood English and even better was their menu in English! They told us they usually have reservations and are fully booked but we were lucky to get a table that night. Such a great dinner! It felt like home if you grew up in a German household as I did. We’d go here again.

One of the better restaurants in Wuppertal. Has quite some traditional German meals that taste great. Service and prices are good, but it is relatively hard to get a table for dinner, so reservations are needed. It's a cosy place and looks quite original. Recommended for a visit. I have recently been revisiting and it’s still great. The staff is very friendly and they even added some variety to the menu. It’s still best for typical “German” meals.

We had a great time at Katzengold in Wuppertal! Cozy vibes, friendly staff, and great drinks. Perfect spot to relax with a drink and enjoy the day. The building’s exterior is stunning! And sitting outside was ver nice. The luisenstrasse is great in general.

I was there two times. First time just on terrace drinking Primitivo, was perfect. Second time i go inside and i was surprised how big restaurant is. It was full ,but the waitress help us find a spot. We sit next to another people and it was no problem for them. The atmosphere was loud but positive, people smiling, taking and enjoying. Food was simple and delicious. Recommend 👍

Loved this cozy restaurant in Wuppertal.. I was mostly impressed by the professionality of the staff, the simplicity of the furniture, but mostly by the freshness of the dishes that we ordered. The vegetables in the side salads were so fresh you could even think they picked them few minutes from a nearby garden. The prices are ok, not cheap and not too expensive. Thank you. e

It's a great place to enjoy a drink. We drank the " Tinto de verano" and it was tasty. You can sit outside but there's not a lot of place, so you have to come early like us or just have luck. In the inside there is a lot of place to sit. We will definitely come back.

Very nice bar with nice atmosphere. One of the best bars of the area. Good choice for drinks. There are also options for food or dessert. The staff is kind.

It’s the 3rd time when we ate at this place. The position is a very nice one, on the street with small shops and quite area. The food was as usual great. Unfortunately, without knowing, we ordered too much food as we weren’t expecting the portions to be this big.

Went there again a couple of times recently and I gotta say it is still top of the line. This gets the full recommendation every time. 🙌🏻 One of the most well known cafés in Wuppertal Luisen quarter. Has been there for ages and constantly strives to improve. Great breakfast, lunch and dinner, especially the daily menu. Even cake is quite tasty and has some options. Nice staff and great atmosphere. It's rather full, as it is very popular with every age group, so reservations are helpful. Also daily menu and cakes sometimes are already gone for the day. Better be early. 😉 Full recommendation. Give it a try on any day.

I love the design so much, the place from inside amazing and very friendly staff our food arrive so quick, thr burger is juicy i think its the best in town the only things i dont like a little smell on the beef I think because using same Coker to cooked another things than burger

Bowls are not good at all the salad was not fresh. I have ordered to go. The Champignons tasted like burger meat, like they don't clean properly when cooking. This way you have meat rests when you eat a vegetarian plate. Costs: too much for what the offer. 17 euros for such a bowl is too much expensive for the quality they offer.

This place is wonderful! The food and the cocktails were great. Our food was cooked in about 10 to 15 minutes, and the service overall was awesome.

The place is beautiful with rich decoration. It has small tree trunks as partitions that create the feeling that each table is kind of independent from the others. The burgers are very tasty, the staff is kind. The prices are ok.

Fellow Americans, this is a great place to visit when you’re in town. They were very accommodating with menus in English. We had burgers which they had a variety to choose from with a side of fries or sweet potatoes. Burgers were good and their sauces were too. They also have vegan options which is great for those of you who opt from meat. There was more than enough seating which can be hard to find sometimes in the city. We were able to pay with a credit card which was also great! We’d go here again.

Nice restaurant with a lot of nice burgers 🍔, chips and different option of drinks. Came for dinner, I love the interior design it was cool(you should see it). I order burger, chips and a drink. When the chip came, they looked delicious and tasted very good. You had option to pick whatever sauce you would like to use and it’s just on your table. I recommend this restaurant ✅

The food at Alaturka was good and tasty, definitely above the standard Turkish restaurant experience. The place itself is modern with an oriental touch – carpets on the walls and a big grill that gives it a very authentic feel. That said, the chef seems to like experimenting with traditional dishes. For me, he might be a bit too creative. Some recipes should be left as they are – for example, putting salty cheese inside künefe really doesn’t work. Turkish classics don’t need fixing. It might be a mistake as well. Overall, it’s a stylish restaurant with good food, but if you’re looking for traditional flavors without surprises, keep this in mind.

Nice location of the restaurant, you can take a walk after dinner. The service was friendly. Food: I would rate traditional meze 7 out of 10 as I know Turkish mezes can be better :) the main dishes (in my case, chicken in a pan with vegetables) tasty, juicy, in addition there is a side dish. Chicken in tomato souse I like less. Portions are enough not to be hungry. Airan is fresh and tasty. The price per person is 25-35 euros, depending on what you choose for yourself. Main course on average 16-23 euros.

Consistently the best Italian food you can get in and around Wuppertal, not cheap but not overpriced and very worth while. Front of House Herr Speck is a gem and will take care of your needs.
