Park
CavallinoMatto is a sprawling forest amusement park located in Marina di Castagneto Carducci, Tuscany. Spanning 70,000 square meters, this park offers a wide array of thrill rides and family attractions set amidst the lush greenery of a pine forest. Visitors can enjoy live shows, indulge in street food and sweets from various kiosks, and even grab a bite at the pizzeria or bar on-site.
We loved it! The whole family had a blast! We went there on a Friday and waiting times for the rides were not long at all. What we love: ✅ The park itself is not too big that it’s overwhelming ✅ Different rides for different age of kids ✅There are picnic areas so you can eat your self brought foods ✅There are many trees in the park, so you always have some shady areas to sit ✅Staff was always friendly ✅The shows they offer were entertaining There are also booths for you to buy food from Mexican tacos to French fries. We spent there the whole day and it was totally worth the money. We can totally recommend it 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

A fantastic amusement park for both younger and older children, suitable for all age groups including adults. Everyone will have lots of fun here. The park is large, so you can easily spend the whole day there. The entrance fee is quite reasonable considering everything the park offers. There are many attractions, each with specific entry rules based on the child's height or age. The park is set in a pine forest, which provides plenty of shaded areas for resting away from the sun. There are also many food stalls, making it an ideal place to spend time with kids. Free parking is available just a few meters from the main entrance to the park. We’ll definitely come back. Fantastic! 😊👌👌👌

Cavallino Matto is a surprisingly fun amusement park. Beyond exciting rides like Freestyle and Jurassic river, its true charm lies in its beautiful pine forest setting, offering refreshing shade and a unique natural ambiance. It's a delightful blend of thrills and nature. Great for families.

Great little theme park, lots of rides for younger children but a few good thrill rides too. Almost no queues for virtually every ride makes the whole experience so much better than most theme parks and the staff generally very friendly as well. The setting amongst lots of trees makes it look good as well as providing lots of shade in hot weather.

A great place to have fun with your family. We visit the park every summer and spend the whole day there. The staff at the ticket office were absolutely wonderful, making our arrival smooth and enjoyable. They were incredibly efficient, getting everyone through quickly even during a busy period, and answered all our questions with a smile. We really appreciated their excellent customer service and positive energy. There are a lot of rides and entertainment to choose from. The Jurassic River ride is spectacular! We also appreciated the picnic area and the alley with the misting system, which made us feel so refreshed on ascorching summer day.
Inna K — Google review
Super friendly staff, nice set of diverse rides especially for smaller kids. It's great that the area is full of trees so there's always enough shade during hot weather. We experienced almost no waiting time for every attraction we tried. (Summer high season, but during a workday)

There’s nothing like italian theme parks, another one we were blown away by. We came with a 2 year old and even for him, there were so many rides and activities to enjoy. Great great experience, highly recommend, if you have a chance to go.
Nikki K — Google review
Great for young kids and families. Loads of rides of different intensity but hardly any queues in October. A couple of shows. Recommend bringing your own food and leaving it in the picnic area. No-one will touch it and you'll save a ton of money. The only water fountain with drinkable water is near the entrance so plan to go back there a few times during the day.

The Farm Lands of the Marquis offers an exceptional winery tour experience with informative and personalized discussions about the wine-making process. Visitors are greeted warmly, creating a family-like atmosphere. The tour includes a walk through the vineyards and cellar, providing insights into the company's history. Guests enjoy a generous tasting led by knowledgeable staff members like Serena and Paula. While some find the wines slightly expensive, they appreciate the dedication to quality from vineyard to bottle.
Our visit to Terre del Marchesato in Bolgheri was truly unforgettable. We had an amazing guided tour where we learned fascinating details about the winemaking process—from the vineyard to the bottle. The entire experience was both informative and inspiring. A special thank you to our guide, Valeria, who was not only extremely knowledgeable but also incredibly kind and warm-hearted. Her passion for wine and her deep understanding of the estate’s history and techniques really made the tour exceptional. If you’re in the Bolgheri area, we wholeheartedly recommend this tour. It’s a must-do for wine lovers and anyone curious to discover the soul behind one of the region’s most prestigious wineries.

What a stunning location and ambiance! Terre del Marchesato is situated in the heart of Bolgheri, surrounded by beautiful rows of vineyards and the quintessential Tuscan landscape. The setting feels intimate and small-scale — not a large, impersonal tourist factory, but rather a family-run estate with real character. The sight of the vineyards and the view of the rolling hills immediately spark curiosity about what will be in the glass. We were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality, and the guide/tasting hosts took their time to share background stories about the family history and the wines. The tour at Terre del Marchesato is truly exceptional. You can tell the estate has deep wine knowledge and conveys it with passion and dedication. That same passion and expertise is reflected in the wines themselves. Last but not least, a special thank you to Serena — a fantastic woman with a true heart for her guests. You can feel that immediately. We will gladly return! 🙏🏼

We had such a lovely time here. The setting is beautiful, peaceful, and welcoming. Special thanks to Serena, who made this visit happen! She’s amazing — so warm, helpful, and passionate. Thanks to her, we had one of the most memorable experiences of our trip. The wines were fantastic, and the local food pairings made it even better. Everything felt thoughtful and authentic. This wasn’t just a tasting — it was something we’ll always remember. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

It was my first wine tasting but I had an amazing time. We had a short tour of the property in which a lot was told about the different wines, the process of making them and how they get their unique flavours. At the tasting, we were given 3 different wines, each of which was immensely delicious in its own way. And if you wanted to buy the wine, you could do that in their own shop. If you need to go somewhere for a wine tasting, this is the place to be. 🍷🍇

We went for the wine tasting and to look around it was fantastic! Valeria was our guide and she was amazing with us, explaining everything so well. Our two little daughters came along too and really enjoyed the experience! I highly recommend it a thousand times over!

This was an excellent boutique winery in the heart of Bolgheri. After receiving an informative tour from Irene, who was pleasant and professional, we sat down to taste five different wines. Irene did a great job explaining each wine- what to taste and type of food it pairs with. Although small, the wines they produce are high quality.

We took a few bottles and will give further judgment at the next uncorking. If they are like Pean... highly recommended. A niche company that aims for quality at the right price. Nestled in the heart of Bolgheri, Ornellaia s.r.l. is a renowned winery that stands as one of the top wine producers in Tuscany. The estate's location near the Mediterranean shore provides it with a unique sea-side climate, setting it apart from other wineries in the region. Visitors can embark on a tour to explore the vineyards and witness the wine production process while indulging in premium wine tastings.
Ornellaia is one of the top wine producers in Toscana. Last week I had the opportunity to visit their facilities and taste some of their premium wines. As opposed to many other wine producers in the region, Ornellaia actually benefits from a sea-side climate since it is so close to the Mediterranean shore. Highly recommended for both wine-tasting and observing their production process.

An excellent wine and a good value wine your and tasting with very knowledgeable guides
Piyush P — Google review
We booked a visit to Ornellaia as we were keen to visit one of the big famous wineries of Bolgheri. I didn't have high expectations, as we knew it was expensive and commercial but couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. €100 each for tour and tasting and worth every penny. Svetlana was our guide and we were early and she greeted us and spoke with us until the rest of our small group of 7 had arrived. She showed us the vines and then we got in a very nice executive minibus for a drive to the winery. The winery was stunning and the grounds beautiful. Loved all the art and the tour of the facilities was great. We were lucky to them bottling and it was fascinating. Then the wine library that again was a beautiful space. We returned to the welcome/shop parking and then went to another beautiful room in a nearby building for our tasting. It was all set up beautifully with lovely stemware, a notebook, pencil, crackers, and of course the 6 wines. All very generous measures. We had a great group and we're all having a great time. We weren't rushed and we were made to feel very special. Thank you Ornellaia and Svetlana for making this a really thoughtful and special visit.

We did a wine tour here. Took us 2 hours. We visited the wine cellar, wine fermentation and bottling operations. Svetlana was our tour guide and was very knowledgeable. After that we did wine tasting of 5 wines (one white and rest reds), plus olive oil and grappa. Overall, no rush, fun experience. It’s by appointment only.

An exceptional visit with lots of art The visit has been hosted by a young sommelier from Sardegna who introduced us to the property, vineyards, culture and wines of Ornellaia. The tour was 100€ per person and absolutely worth it.
Alexander F — Google review
The best winery tour I've had so far. Ornellaia's property is amazing. It perfectly combines the modern large-scale production with the beauty of nature. Its art project (Vendemmia d'Artista) is also incredible - whole winery's area is full with numerous wonderful art pieces. The wines are outstanding as well.

(Translated by Google) Receipt added Deeply disappointing experience – never again. My experience at La Sirena Beach in Castagneto Carducci was among the worst I've ever had at a beach resort. Upon arrival, I was quoted a higher price than advertised. Only after I pointed out the discrepancy did the cashier change his attitude, becoming cold and unfriendly. I still decided to rent a beach umbrella for just one day, but evidently my "not getting ripped off" attitude annoyed me. I was placed in the last row, in an extremely uncomfortable position in front of the restrooms, despite the beach being practically empty. A decision I can only interpret as retaliatory. To make matters worse, I was denied access to either the restrooms or the showers, despite noticing that the (few) other customers present were welcome to use them. All this for high prices, decidedly disproportionate to the quality of service and treatment received. In the following days, I had the opportunity to try La Zattera, where I found friendly staff, transparent prices, and a completely different atmosphere. There's no comparison. I strongly advise against it; it's a place I'll never return to.

Very unique place. The food is nice, and simple as it should be in Italy. Nice fresh pasta, ragout of wild boar and some nice dessert . The do tradition chestnut cake. The wine opportunities to try by the Glass are pretty big different prices. But you are in the right place.

The right way to experience Bolgheri wines with incredibly tasty dish pairings! We came here rather than going to a wine degustation at a specific vineyard as we wanted to try different wines at once and compare them. You can of course take wine bottles and glasses but what is interesting is that you can take as little as 5cl glasses, meaning you can try many different ones and make your own opinion. This was really what we enjoyed the most! The in house sommelier walked us through the wine origins, notes, explained the best times when to drink them - some wines are best after 15 years and then decline, some are incredible immediately and some just remain wonderful even after 20 years. You do not have to be a wine expert to appreciate the wines and any question you might have, don't shy away and ask the sommelier. Really, ask him. He is truly a master of his craft. The food was simply amazing.

Situated in a charming rural setting with vineyard views, this osteria boasts a delightful terrace where guests can savor refined Italian fare, including delectable wild game dishes. The restaurant prides itself on its unmatched wine list featuring local labels and an impressive selection of Tuscan blends.
Delicious food, incredible wine selection all highlighting Tuscany. We had the beef tar tar, two pastas and the florentine steak, followed by tiramisu and ice cream. The service was incredible as the waiter explained all the dishes with a lot of patience and insight. The ambiance was also stellar and it really felt so authentic!

We made a reservation and requested a tasting menu for each person. The surprise came when the sommelier stopped attending to the families outside to focus solely on a demanding family who claimed to be wine connoisseurs, completely forgetting the rest of us who were waiting. From that point on, we didn’t even enjoy the food. However, the place was beautiful and relaxing, with very lovely dogs in the restaurant’s kennel. But it wasn’t worth the high price.

Authentic Tuscan food, tasty steak but not as impressive as I was expecting and I went filet. Wife enjoyed the spinach and ricotta ravioli although a little more dense than we’re used to (called it like a soufflé). Wine was absolutely stellar for the price. Would’ve liked to try the tasting menu but had a toddler with short patience ☺️ Service was slow but it was pretty full lunch crowd by the time we left. Lovely terrace and nice breeze with surrounding green areas.

There was a time when this steak restaurant stood out — not just for the quality of the food, but for the warm, attentive service that made dining there a memorable experience. Unfortunately, those days are gone. What used to feel like a special night out now feels more like a trip through a conveyor belt. The restaurant has clearly shifted its focus to volume over experience. Tables are crammed together, and the staff seems overwhelmed, rushing from one order to the next with little time — or interest — in offering genuine hospitality. You’re no longer treated like a guest, but like a number in a long line of tickets that need to be cleared. Even the steaks, while still decent, suffer from the overall lack of care. There’s no longer that consistency or attention to detail that made the place great. When the atmosphere becomes chaotic and the service robotic, it’s hard to enjoy even a good cut of meat. I don’t recommend this restaurant anymore. There are better places to spend your money — where service still matters, and dining doesn’t feel like being herded through a fast-food version of what used to be fine dining.
Tomasz D — Google review
Excelent meat, and competent service. Very nice place to be on a sunny and windy day. Wine selections is decent. My only complaint is with the food temperature, I understand that it is good to let a grilled piece of meat to cool so it can retain it's liquids and flavors better, but I'd rather it be warmer at the table.. What I did appreciate a lot is that they show you the raw piece of meat they're going to serve you beforehand. What a nice touch imo.

We stopped at Osteria San Michele for lunch on our way to Punta Ala, and it turned out to be a truly joyous discovery. As a devoted fan of vitel tonné, I couldn’t resist ordering it the moment I saw it on the menu. It was beautifully presented, with paper-thin slices of meat and a creamy, delicate sauce that struck just the right balance refined but comforting. My husband had the ravioli filled with stracciatella, served with mazzancolle also excellent. The pasta was silky and fresh, the filling indulgent without being heavy, and the prawns added a lovely depth of flavour. We sat out on the terrace, which had a tasteful yet homely feel there was something familiar and quietly elegant about the whole place. The staff were extremely professional, clearly well-trained, but also warm and welcoming, which made the experience all the more enjoyable. Definitely a place we’d return to it made the journey feel like part of the destination.

if you dont mind the price then you eat very well over here: the place has an attention to detail: so before they serve the white wine they make sure the glass you drink it from is cold too by shaking a few icecubes around the glass and just before serving they throw the icecubes out. the wine they put in you can choose by color . we chose white and for a house wine it was excellent the pictures of what we ate say it all. small portions but great stuff again one can argue whether 80 euros should be sent on a lunch but hey its a holiday

Restaurant in general is really nice place to visit with great food. The only cons are the prices (I would say Dutch standards, not Italian) - after 10 days in Italy we didn’t expect to pay so much for a dinner.

We stopped for lunch while driving from Roma to Lerici. What a treat! The service was incredibly warm. Our dog was welcomed with open arms. The room was decorated with such love and care. And the food - the spaghetti alla vongole (with bottarga) was the best we have ever had. We have already booked a table for our drive back to Roma. Exceptional!

If you're looking for a luxurious and romantic spot to enjoy a delicious meal, Osteria San Guido is the perfect spot. The restaurant features high-class standards in both the food and wine selections, making it an excellent choice for any special occasion. With outdoor seating and lush garden tables, this restaurant is perfect for a romantic evening out.
The best food and wine we had on this trip.. By far! Appetizers are very unique and creative, and the wine list is of course extensive but crowned by the king of the supertuscans, their very own Sassicaia. The steak was simply amazing and cooked really superbly. We made a two-hour detour to this place on our drive from Montalcino to Firence, and it was totally worth it. Make sure to book your table in advance.

Fine dining at its best! The opening hours are actually longer than indicated here. Call the restaurant to be sure.

Everything about this place is wonderful: the atmosphere, the lovely and friendly service, the opportunity to try Sassicaia by the glass, an excellent steak, and a mind-blowing zabaglione for dessert.

Ambiance and service quality were fantastic. Nothing wrong with the food but it wasn’t 5*. Wish they had a Sassicaia vertical tasting option

Recently had a delightful lunch at Osteria Enoteca San Guido in Bolgheri, and it was everything a gourmet Italian lunch should be. Starting with an appetizer of assorted meats and cheeses, each selection was perfectly curated to complement the robust flavors of the main dish, a beautifully prepared fettuccini with duck. Accompanying the meal were two glasses of exceptional red wine by Sassicaia, enhancing the rich flavors of the dish. The setting at Osteria Enoteca San Guido is wonderfully inviting, combining an approachable, comfortable environment with the attentive and friendly service of the staff. It's clear why this place is beloved; they make each guest feel completely at ease, contributing to an outstanding dining experience. I highly recommend visiting for anyone looking for authentic Italian cuisine served with a touch of Tuscan hospitality.

Nice enoteca owned by the Sassicaia vinery (I guess). Bi varieties of meat and other food. Good wine list.

Excellent night out in a beautiful location, outside in the garden of the restaurant. Superb wines for tasting with the menu, and delicious dishes. The antipasti that we tried were amazing… beef tataki and ansjovis uplifted to beautiful dishes. The spaghetti with truffle was just perfect, simple and made the ingredients shine. The sassicaia paired perfectly with the spaghetti. The pigeon and steak were also delicious. Ended the perfect dinner with lovely desserts! Thanks to the attentive staff! We will be back!

This is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to after living in Tuscany for 2 years. The food is excellent and the wine selection is extensive. I recommend making a reservation they speak English if you need them too. It is on the road leading into Bolgheri so an Easy stop if you are visiting for the day. The le difese wine is my favorite they have so we ordered that. Also the cuddle fish pasta was amazing. Their menu changes through the seasons and stuff. Do not miss this place I will return.

Il Cappellaccio, located in Castagneta Carducci, is renowned for its exceptional pizza. This establishment offers a truly unforgettable dining experience, with friendly and efficient service. The pizzas are not only enormous but also incredibly delicious, surpassing expectations. In addition to their remarkable pizzas, Il Cappellaccio serves delectable pasta dishes that are beyond satisfying.
Top-recommendation! The food was great. Pizza is really big, just feels good to have this in front of you. 😄 And also the dough tastes great, especially when you ask for some extra olive oil. 😉 And we also had Tagliatelle with Pistachio-Pesto, which was on point. We shared the pizza so it was totally okay that the Pasta arrived late (25min after ordering) and the service was very aware and informing us about the delay. The service team is mostly young men that were all really friendly and the ones we encountered spoke good English which was also great. 🙏🏼 AND from the pictures here we thought that we could only eat inside, which we accepted. But as we came there we got a spot in the beautiful and laid back outside area which we thought has to be visible also here online. It’s beautiful. Really good experience over all! Grazie Mille 💚

We had no reservation made, so we could only sit inside the restaurant, which was ok, but less ambiance. We had to wait pretty long until we got asked for which drinks we'd like to have. The pizza's we ordered were very big and tasteful if you like the thick pizza edges. The personel is kind and speaks also a bit English. Good price for the amount and quality of the food.

The location was very nice, on top of the hill in a small village. The pizza was great. But: Service was incredibly bad. (It was busy evening). We arrived 20:15 with reservation, and our first food on the table arrived at 21:45!! The last dish 15 min later, and only after pushing various times. The bambini dish was served last! (We were not the only ones complaining). The service staff was obviously overwhelmed with the full restaurant and couldn't handle all the tables in a reasonable time. Due to the poor service, it was a bad experience for a family with kids.

The best pizza in Tuscany! Local ingredients, bigger than a plate and delicious! I recommend!

It’s always great, when you go for dinner and get a free breakfast because there’s so much food left. What a massive Pizza that is! I’m always looking forward to come back to this place every time I’m in the area. I’ve been coming to this Restaurant since I was a little boy, and I have to say, they never disappointed me so far. Absolutely recommend to anyone who wants to have a GREAT experience. 😉

One of my favourite places in Castagneta Carducci. Their pizza is MASSIVE but so so delicious, you won’t even hesitate to finish it :) and their pasta was absolutely delicious. We had a margherita, pasta with pistachio pesto and antipasti di terra (cold cuts). All of which I would order again next time I visit!
