Really enjoyed our visit here. Give it a couple of hours and make sure you watch the interactive video at the beginning using the headphones if your French isn’t that great. The place was clean, all of the displays worked and the staff were friendly.

At night this place becomes even more beautiful. It's a good place to sit after an evening walk. You can get some Kebab from so good or some pizza from Dominoes and just chill there.

It's important to look beyond what you see in front of you. We had parked the car and walked to the crossing, had an excellent lunch and saw the cycle repair and charging, so went to get our bikes and then cycled into Rochefort. Watching from the view point gives you a better idea of the Victorian engineering. You just want to give the pontoon a little push to see if would swing which of course it never will. Boutique and excellent toilet facilities for all.

Magnifique. A great reason to visit Rochefort. Hermione is nothing else than a piece of art, a volunteering effort, a very passionate crew. Thank you all for reviving the history thru this glorious ship and letting us the visitors to enjoy it. A must see in this part of France.

During my stay in Rochefort in late Feb, I had the pleasure of dining multiple times at Restaurant Le Cap Nell. As a solo traveler, I found it to be one of the most enjoyable and memorable dining experiences of my trip. Among the various dishes I tried, the fresh oysters and the desserts stood out the most — absolutely delightful and a true highlight of coastal French cuisine. The steak was also excellent, although once it was cooked slightly more than my original request. Nevertheless, the overall culinary quality and attention to detail made every meal a pleasure. The restaurant offers a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere, perfect for savoring a leisurely meal by the harbor. The set menu, priced around €30, represented outstanding value for the quality of food, service, and ambiance. One charming quirk to note: the opening hours can be a little unpredictable — on one occasion, I returned eagerly for another meal, only to find the doors closed! It seems that to enjoy such wonderful food, a little luck and good timing are part of the adventure — very French, and all part of the experience. Overall, Restaurant Le Cap Nell delivers a delightful, authentic taste of Rochefort hospitality. 🌟 I look forward to returning, and highly recommend it to fellow travelers seeking both great seafood and a touch of charming spontaneity!

Perfect small French restaurant. Excellent food, friendly staff, great wine recommendations. A little away from the main square like the best restaurants often are. Perfect!

Great restaurant with a very nice view, just on the port of Rochefort. Service was very good! Prices were very good, especially the 3 course lunch or dinner for 31 euros! Good quality food, prepared in an open kitchen, on wood fire! Our starter with quinoa and pork cheeks pate was delicious! Their strawberry and chocolate and fromage blanc mousse was just perfect! The main course with lieu noir and the fried panisse lacked acidity and some freshness, it was bland and heavy. But overall it's worth the whole experience. Also their wine catalogue is very good and huge!

Excellent meal. Lovely location. The menu is a bit too long & but very good. the highlight though was the waiter, Didier - unbelievable efficiency!

Delicious and creative regionally meals and Pizza. Great price/performance ratio, very friendly staff.
