Must try!!! Love local seafood and the Fish Kitchen prepares it to perfection. Crab sandwich and fish tacos were super fresh and flavourful. Desserts lovely. Not to mention the staff are great👍🏻

The food at the Fish Kitchen was nothing short of exceptional. I don’t often seek out fish restaurants, but when this restaurant was recommended to me, I decided to take the plunge—and I am so glad that I did. The setting strikes a perfect balance between relaxed and inviting, and we were warmly welcomed by staff who clearly love what they do. Once seated, we discovered the restaurant’s clever approach to sustainability: instead of traditional menus, the day’s offerings are presented on a wall-mounted board, adding a touch of charm and originality to the experience. The food itself was remarkable. The fish cakes, brimming with fresh hake, cheddar, and capers, were rich in flavour, each bite offering a delightful burst of freshness. My partner’s scampi was equally impressive! So good, in her words, that she “wanted more,” though the generous portion left little to be desired. After our meal, we enjoyed an engaging chat with the staff about local produce and attractions, which made the experience feel all the more personal. It’s clear that the owners have poured both passion and care into the Fish Kitchen, and it shines through in every detail. Part of me would rather keep this gem a secret, just to ensure we can always find a seat when we return!

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at The Fish Kitchen. The staff were so friendly. A very relaxed atmosphere. Fresh food and absolutely delicious. Irish staff! Authentic. Definitely value for money. Thanks so much! Would highly recommend.

This place was special. I was driving through town and looked at Google reviews. This place has highly rated as it should be. Had a great lunch here and recommend it. I had tandoori monk fish

Lovely fresh seafood and friendly staff. Well worth a visit
David G — Google review
Lovely fish place with daily changing menu and plenty of local Irish seafood. Mussels were cooked well in a nice flavorful sauce. It all came with a fragrant bread. We also ordered the raw oysters which are always a treat in Ireland. Nice vinegar dip for the oysters too. Beer drinkers will have to forego the draft beer here but canned options were plentiful (and cold) .

Recommended by locals. Went for lunch on a Wednesday. Upstairs were fully booked but there were tables on ground floor and outside available. Many choices for lunch menu which I appreciated a lot. Reasonable price. Would definitely come again next time when we are in the area

Wonderful lunchtime monkfish scampi and deconstructed tiramisu. Probably best to book as quite small space. Went on recommendation as well worth it

Great little find especially for our wedding anniversary. Made welcome, food was fantastic especially the rice pudding and ice-cream, real treat. The manager and the team had it running like clockwork, well done. Will certainly recommend the restaurant. Thanks for the great hospitality.

A small gem of a place. This is well deserving of our 5* Google rating. We had a delicious three course meal for two and wine for €150 inc. fillet steak main. Food was such good quality and plenty of it. Service was attentive but respectful. Open Thursday-Sunday only, booking highly recommended- we booked on the day for a Thursday sitting but hear weekend bookings could be a 2-3 lead time, tho watch out on their Facebook page for late cancellations. Well worth the visit.

At 75 years of age I have eaten well. I have to say the meal I had on Thursday was absolutely one of my best ever. The black sole was out of this world. Don’t tell anyone about this gem.

Wonderful food made from the best possible ingredients and cooked to absolute perfection. These guys really know what they are doing! Such a lovely place with amazing staff. Very lucky to have been able to experience this wee gem during our Irish weekend away from Scotland.

Delicious food served by staff who are keen to ensure a memorable and special experience. So lucky to have squeezed in a reservation! If you’re a group of four or five try to get the round table.

Donemark West is a fantastic restaurant in Bantry. This is actually the second time we have eaten here and as we are from the UK, we were looking forward to returning. From the outside it looks very unassuming but once you are inside you will be treated to some great Irish non-fussy gastronomy. Every course we had was beautifully presented and the steak is the standout which melts in your mouth. The service is also first class, very welcoming, polite and attentive.

Cosy pub atmosphere with warm staff. Food is very good with enough variety of offerings for everyone. Seafood never fails to be fresh and full of flavour. Don’t have to wait in the winter but make reservations in the summer✔️👍🏻
Trish D — Google review
Very nice food, the banana split dessert was amazing. So simple yet so delicious. Lovely to sit outside on a warm Summer day too. Deducting a mark overall though as the service was very poor. It was admittedly very busy, but there was nobody in charge of the outside seating area. Took a long time for our order to be taken, and it was only taken after I went back inside to flag down a waitress. Also had to flag someone down to take our dessert order and clear our plates. €30 is also a bit too much to pay for a basic salmon main course, even if was nice.

We had a lovely meal and both the food and service were great. I had the Hereford Sirloin special andy wife had the local crab salad. They were very busy on a Friday evening, but we were seated quickly. Maeve was very attentive and made us feel welcome.
Will H — Google review
Me and my friend went here, portion size are big and food is good but service from staff was horrible, they were really slow and treated us differently because we were not local and we were two twenty year old girls, when we were paying the man at till/bar actually snapped at me and my friend because we didn’t understand what he said. Their attitude would want attention and fixing immediately. But overall the food was good. 2/10
Anita S — Google review
Excellent food with a great friendly service. Sitting in the snug was just a fantastic experience. And the home cooked meals was just that but perfectly done.
Mike W — Google review
Excellent pub that does great food and had an amazing atmosphere.very busy place but there's plenty of seating outside if the weather is ok.
Ian B — Google review
We enjoyed the monkfish and salmon, and the halibut. They both came with veg and mash. Very delicious and very large portions of fish. I thought the halibut was exceptionally good because it came with prawns and mussels too. Highly
Crystal L — Google review
Plenty of seating indoors (didn't have to wait for a party of six) and on the patio (seemed like four people max per table). A good few menu options for everyone: steak, seafood, vegetarian, etc. but the quality was average at best. The chicken wings were flavored well but would be loads better finished off roasted over a flame. The sole seemed soggy. The service was by far lacking the most. Server-by-committee means everyone else thinks someone is looking after the table, when in fact hardly anyone was making sure we're being looked after.

Restaurant
The Brick Oven is a popular dining spot in Bantry, known for its Irish and pizza cuisine. Located at Wolfe Tone Square, it offers a delightful culinary experience. With a prime location and positive reviews, it's considered one of the must-eat restaurants in Bantry. Whether you're craving Irish dishes or delicious pizzas, The Brick Oven is an excellent choice for locals and visitors alike.
Moves from USA to West Cork and my husband misses pizza. He LOVED the pepperoni pizza here. The crust was perfect, wide number of toppings available. Exactly what he was craving. Loads of people picking up to go on the way home. Pasta was good too, very big portions. Will definitely order again!
Trish D — Google review
Superb pizza. Very veggie and vegan friendly. Place was buzzing. Good wine by the glass too.
Conor O — Google review
Lovely spot in Bantry! The wood-fired pizzas are fresh and taste delicious , there’s also a great variety of seafood, pasta, and steaks. Staff are friendly and attentive, Perfect for families or a casual night out. Minus 1 star for ordering chips and never getting them
Jim P — Google review
We got two pizzas from here takeaway the other night and there was long black hairs embedded into the cheese I pulled one out that I thought was a little one and it pulled out from under the cheese, we only realised after we had already ate most of it 😢😢 tried to ring the restaurant to let them know after but they did not pick up. The pizza was good tasting other than that fact and the chicken wings are unreal !! Just unfortunate!

Fantastic food, I had the seafood linguini special - definitely up there as one of the best I've ever had

Very nice place to eat. The atmosphere is quiet and pleasant. The food was delicious.

Came to the Brickoven restaurant and ordered 7up, cappuccino, spicy pepperoni Served quite quickly brought water that I really wanted after a hot day, but not enough for all people And after literally 5 minutes they brought cappuccino and in addition 1 cookie. The cappuccino was quite tasty, the proportions were met. The mobile Internet in the restaurant is very bad, it's a huge minus for using the phone. It took me a long time to cook food, I was very hungry and was late for the bus, waiting for my pizza for 54 minutes. Also, the flowers on the table are very sluggish and the mugs after drinking water do not take away, which interferes in the future Salt pours out on the table We were literally forgotten for 50 minutes Once again, I notice that the staff is working very slowly Another minus is that there is no socket for the phone The chairs are quite comfortable, but sitting on them and waiting for "" is terrible My friend waited for the steak for about 51 minutes And another friend waited for the salad for 52 minutes The chairs are a bit dirty in food crumbs The pizza is not tasty at all, they overdid it with the ingredients, they also didn't bring water After eating My friends and I are very unhappy with the restaurant Restaurant rating - 2 But the assessment is very far-fetched.

We came to the Brick Oven two days in a row! Once for a quick bite, I had the French onion soup and my partner had a chicken pasta dish, both were tasty! The next night we were upstairs for an event where we had the pizza which was very good! Great little spot right near the water. Lots of seating outside as well!

Situated in southwest Ireland, this stately home provides a cozy and historic accommodation option for travelers exploring the area. With its rich history and classic amenities, Bantry House offers visitors a unique experience during their stay.
A beautiful historical home. It has an amazing history. It needs a little TLC but that is underway. It hosts the West Cork musical festival at the end of October. Something you could consider of visiting at that time. It has beautiful gardens to boot!!

Nice way to spend a few hours , you can see inside the house and the gardens are lovely. They gave the kids a treasure hunt in the house which kept them busy. Has a tea room also

We had a lovely afternoon at Bantry house. We visited the gardens and had a very interesting tour of the hoise with Julie. All followed by the afternoon tea in the library. Stunning views if the bay from the front garden.

I visited Bantry House and was soon blown away by authentication of everything in this house. The family still live in part of the house and presently are the 10th generation. I would highly recommend visiting this house. Do put it on places to visit 😍

A wonderful journey through time to a country estate that is rich in history. An honest and dedicated team transports guests to a time that was not defined by hustle and bustle and perfectionism. During 2 days we thoroughly enjoyed the warm hospitality - Thank you for this lovely experience..

A 5 Star Rating for 3 Reasons: 1. Beautiful comfortable bedrooms, and an exquisite breakfast (see photo). 2. The warmth and professionalism of the welcome, provided by Julie and her staff, including Jean, Niamh and Amy. 3. Last but definitely not least - Julie has set things up so that guests can truly enjoy a “Downton Abbey” experience including the baronial library, and ancient billiards table. To get the full experience, I recommend staying a minimum of 2 nights (we stayed 3). We had a memorable evening listening to big band tunes on the gramophone, playing billiards, before enjoying a gourmet charcuterie plate, washed down by a glass of excellent vintage wine. This was as close to seeing How the Other Half Lived as we are ever likely to get! Congratulations to the whole Bantry House team on creating such a memorable experience!

Recommend by our B&B host while traveling to next B@B in Kenmare. We did not stay as a guest in the Bantry house. gardens were lovely even beginning of September. we had tea/coffee, and toured the house. Each room open to view had a sheet noting points of interest/historic note. Bummed no photos allowed in the house as I would have shown them to my Godmother but photos allowed outside the house. Well worth the minimal charge. Stunning home and gardens, thank you for opening to visitors.
Lisa M — Google review
A beautiful country house and gardens, well worth a visit. The interior decoration of the house is eclectic, with plenty of character, and a few surprises that you wouldn't expect to encounter in West Cork, such as a tapestry made for Marie Antoinette's wedding? The gardens are equally as lovely for a wander about, I can't recommend this place enough, especially if the weather is nice, €14 entry for adults, definitely pop in for a couple of hours if you're in the area!
