Chapel
Chapelle Saint-Léon IX is a charming church built in the late 19th century, featuring a unique and colorful interior with an impressive ceiling. This neo-Roman style chapel is dedicated to Pope Leo IX, who was born in Eguisheim and later became a saint.
While strolling the street of Eguisheim, you won't miss it. For 26 degree outside, inside was very cool to sit for a few minutes while admiring the decorations.
Soohyun P — Google review
Chapelle Saint-Léon IX is a building constructed on the remains of a medieval fortified castle from the 13th century. It is located in the heart of the village of Eguisheim in the Haut-Rhin department ( Grand Est region ). Of the original fortress, there remains little more than the surrounding wall following an octagonal plan which is classified as a historic monument. It's tiny and low profile, while you can totally feel the legacy as soon as you walk in.

Christmas market
Eguisheim Authentic Christmas Market is a charming and traditional holiday venue located just outside of Colmar, easily accessible by car or bus. The market offers quaint food and craft huts set on cobblestone streets, creating a magical atmosphere during the holiday season. Visitors can enjoy the Navettes de Noel, or Christmas Shuttle, from Colmar to access the market every 3 hours. The village sparkles with a thousand fires and offers numerous animations during December.
This is a nice Christmas market to visit if you're planning a Christmas market tour through Europe. The village itself is lovely, but it feels more charming in the CM period.
Set P — Google review
Nothing special, they try to make Christmas markt which is open for everyone bit they do not want to speak English ( there are always exceptions off course) ?!? Working time until 14:30 with a break untill 18:00 during Christmas markt??? Waiters in the restaurant are not polite, if the place is full they are closing the door at front of your face, without explaining or to offer you to come later, nothing, you get an angry face , no smile, no English... disaster , I will never come back and I will never recommend this place to anyone!!

Very beautiful village, specially in Christmas time. Its Christmas market, isn't very big but it is very lovely. Can find where to eat, where to drink, mulled wine of course, and when to buy Christmas presents. Even the rest of the village deserve to take a walk through its streets, but walking slowly, watching ancient walls, looking the shops we find, definitely a very beautiful place to go.

Lovely small village. The christmas market is quite and good for taking photos whereas it offers less options than other villages xlose by. Nice atmosphere

The Three Castles of Eguisheim are a collection of pink sandstone ruins situated atop hills, accessible via hiking trails. Visitors can also indulge in wine tasting at Maison Wolfberger Cave & Boutique d'Eguisheim and explore the central square with its fountain, Eguisheim castle, and Saint-Leon-IX chapel. The area offers great hiking trails through beautiful woodland, leading to the fascinating castle ruins with excellent valley views.
Nice how they have kept these ruins accessible without spoiling them. It is a lovely wild area, you could camp in the castle, if you can handle the ghosts. I just kept wondering how on earth they got all those huge stone blocks up there, without modern tools... Probably aliens.

We climbed from the hotel and it was around 35 min up and 20 min back. Very nice view!

Easy and short walk from the parking up to the 3 castles. Visited them on a Friday in July. Not too crowded with other visitors. We combined the visit, with visiting Eguisheim. Highly recommend both.

Worth visiting but if you are going during summer try avoiding going during afternoon because of the high temperatures and crowds. It is a great combination of short hiking and history.

Cool viewpoint vista for overlooking the area around Eguisheim to Colmar. Very steep hill and many curves on the way. Make sure to go with a good bike, E-Bike, hiking equipment or by car. 3 km took us 30 min with E-Bike. But the view is worth it. The 3 old towers of the castle are broken down, but you can go around, look around, take pictures and enjoy the view. Parking spot at 5 min walking reach. No entry fee.

A pleasant surprise. We found this restaurant on the way back from our hike, hungry and dehydrated. The restaurant has nice and relaxing ambiance. Seatings are available inside or outside terrace. Set menu for lunch is well priced and definitely worth it for the quality and taste. They are also wine producer. Service is excellent. I would highly recommend!

We organized a corporate dinner at this lovely restaurant, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome—everyone was so kind, attentive, and genuinely committed to making the evening special. A special shoutout to Betty, who went above and beyond to accommodate every single guest. Her attention to detail, flexibility, and warm hospitality truly made the night seamless and enjoyable. 👏 The ambiance was perfect for a professional gathering, and the food… absolutely delicious. Our team left not only full but genuinely impressed. Thank you for helping us create such a memorable evening—we’ll definitely be back!

Fantastic restaurant with a nice ambience. The food is of high quality and the compositions fit nice together. Although they had two minor mishaps, the staff handled it with the utmost professionalism and was at all times friendly. If we are again in the region, we will come by for a nice, long dinner for sure.

I unexpectedly came across this restaurant and was pleased I stopped. The people sitting outside gave an idea of this restaurants popularity when everywhere else was quiet. The staff were very pleasing and happy and were able to talk to me in English. The attention to detail and skills of the staff are exceptional. The food is fabulous with unique turns on classic dishes. The presentation and flavours were amazing and the choice of wines, presented on electronic tablet, were extensive. Their proposition for wine matching was excellent and great value. Sitting outside I enjoyed a lovely quiet courtyard but the inside restaurant and facilities were as beautiful and well kept. A great combination of modern and old. I can't recommend this place enough it was a joy to have had the opportunity in life to experience this haven.

Le Caveau des Douceurs is a charming French and European restaurant located in Eguisheim. The establishment offers an excellent dining experience with a small but delightful menu featuring dishes like escargot, house foie gras, choucroute, and fish. While some guests found the chestnut dessert to be overly alcoholic, the overall food quality and presentation were highly praised. The restaurant's cozy ambiance and attentive service also received positive feedback.
Had an incredible dinner. The snails were wonderful. I had the ribs my husband had the salmon both were delicious. Would highly recommend. We didn't have reservations but we got there at 6:30 and had no trouble getting a table.

This was a nice little restaurant in town. We had the salmon and the spare ribs. The salmon dish was good, and the fish was nicely seasoned. The noddles were a little too soft, and the zucchini was salted a little too much. The pork ribs were great, nice, and tender with a well-balanced, sweet, and savory taste. All together, a good place to grab some lunch.

I usually don’t expect so much from restaurant with short menus, but I really really liked the food from here. Absolutely splendid. I did not have a starter/appetiser as I did not fancy anything from it. But I had a taste from what my parents had and what it was, tasted really good! There was a burrata with tomatoes, and also some beef dish, sadly I can’t remember. My main dish was going to be a beef tagliata. It was phenomenal and honestly I don’t know why I didn’t expect it to be good but it was fantastic. For desert I had a Black Forest sort of thing. Delicious. I must say as well this is one of the few restaurants I can leave good marks on music choice! And the staff were lovely, they are accommodating and easy to understand. The restaurant has a great atmosphere inside, really comfy seating. My parents left good reviews of the wine so that is a must.

Melon and Prosciutto starter was plentiful and very tasty, I had the ribs which were excellent, my wife the salmon, also excellent. We shared the crème brûlée ice cream which was a first (the ice cream, not sharing!) and was very good. Service spot on, not overly expensive, very much recommended.

Excelent food, presentation, and service. Small menu. The escargot and house foie gras appetizers were to die for. I would have preferred the duck a little rarer but absolutely delicious. Would choose this restaurant again.

We are a group of 14 people, the restaurant was empty, nobody except the staff was there. They said they wouldn’t let 14 people in, even if we would have eaten here, there would have still been space for others. They were also really rude to us, so if you are a tourist and don’t know french i wouldnt recommend this place.

Wow! Amazing staff - professional and friendly. Room was very clean and the cost was very reasonable. Easy pay parking, not expensive. Great location for touring Eguisheim. This was my third trip to the area and will definitely stay here next time as well.

Stayed here twice now and I'll definitely be back. Staff are excellent with great English (& German). Rooms are not huge but by no means cramped. Beds are good, pillows are nice. Clean throughout. Traffic isn't a problem on a night but in the morning, sort of 7am onwards there can be deliveries in the street which is cobbled. This isn't the hotel's fault, but it didn't bother us as we were up at a reasonable time anyway. Amelie deserves a mention as she was very friendly and chatty while remaining professional. Thank you!! Breakfast is good and worth it (no bacon but there's eggs you can boil yourself and the continental breakfast items are all top notch). You can't dine here at the moment (such a shame as the restaurant is lovely) so bear that in mind and there's plenty of places in the town (Café Heuhaus is my recommendation). Parking is off-street and good. If you look at pictures you'll see an archway - you drive in there and there are several spaces. Best to pre-book that and it's 7 euros per night at the time of writing.
Paul T — Google review
Room was very clean but not free from environmental noise. We literally heard a snoring man in our neighboorhood. Small bed and little bit too hard for us. The village thought is very nice and has a relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast was also very good, but not included in the already high price of the room.

Great place for a short stay. Rooms are small but nice, staff is ok. They have parking in the back that you can reserve on beforehand.

Great location of the hotel - walking distance from the beautiful historic town centre of Equisheim and wine cellar stores. Decent and clean accommodation suitable more for a short stay visiting Alsace region. Outstanding customer service and good communication since the moment of reservation. There is a parking available inside the hotel yard for a symbolic fee. Hotel has a spacious restaurant and terrace - the best Cremant d'Alsace and Riesling I have ever tasted! The breakfast (booked extra) is very nice and in a quiet ambience. Please note that the hotel does not have lifts. There are plenty of restaurants in town walking distance from the hotel, but it is better to reserve your table well in advance (very touristy place) - hotel can help you with that.

The Pavillon Gourmand is a family restaurant located in Eguisheim, which specializes in gastronomic cuisine and terroir. The store offers high-quality products made from local ingredients. The service is friendly and slow but adequate for fast-paced eaters like kids. The food was very good with dishes such as Sauerkraut with smoked meats, which would be suitable for those who are not too squeamish about pig parts or lard.
Food and Wine are amazing, we had the discovery menu of 6 with 4 wine pairings and every single bite was amazing! The service took some time since there was only the owner working which was perfectly fine for us since it gave us plenty of time to enjoy and appreciate the food. We didn’t feel rushed and couldn’t really enjoy our time together, talk have a good time and not simply shove food down.

Auberge Du Rempart is a charming family-run inn located in the historic center of Eguisheim, offering low-key yet practical and clean rooms with views of the city. The hotel features a cozy restaurant serving excellent local food and a wine bar where guests can enjoy fresh and tasty dishes. The property also boasts a courtyard where visitors can dine with their pets.
We had an unforgettable lunch at Auberge du Rempart in Eguisheim. The dishes were perfectly cooked and thoughtfully prepared. We had the generous choucroute with bacon, 2 types of sausages and potatoes, and Jambonneau braisé—a beautifully braised pork knuckle that was tender and delicious. Our kids had the traditional tarte flambée, and we couldn’t resist trying a bite ourselves—it was absolutely delicious! The staff were incredibly attentive and respectful throughout our meal, and the waitress was especially kind and playful with our baby, which made the experience even more enjoyable for our family. We also enjoyed a lovely Alsatian Riesling that paired perfectly with the meal. Despite being the last guests to leave after lunch, we never felt rushed. The staff ensured we could enjoy our time at a relaxed pace. Highly recommend this charming spot for anyone visiting Eguisheim.

In general dinner here passed pretty nice, waiter was friendly and welcoming, but we were expecting a little better food. Tarte flambée with munster cheese and harengs a l’alsacien - tasty. Poulet au riesling - not the best (at least because the chicken leg had feathers, which didn't look very appetizing..)
Anna M — Google review
My daughter and I stayed at this inn during our visit to Alsace. The room was spacious and up to date. An added plus is that the room has AC, even through we did not use it. The restaurant is great with typical Alsatian food. Breakfast was good as well. Only downside is that the inn does not have a lift, so one must deal with stairs to the upper floors where the rooms are located. As an added plus, Eguisheim is a very nice village. Very close to Colmar by car. Parking is convenient. The town is also quiet at night.

Stopped to have a lunch and what a great discovery and find. Cuisine Alsacienne at its best with a great selection of wine and an excellent service.

We went to this restaurant, because all the others in the village were full. The result, disappointed! The entrecôte, nothing to do with it, more like a steak and overcooked, despite their request for our cooking preference.

Excellent food , simple but super tasty. The flammkuchen are prepared in front of you and arrive to your table fresh and hot from the oven. The service is really good , our waiter was friendly , smiley and helpful. Book a table ahead of time as the place gets really busy for lunch.

Charming hotel in a beautiful village. Room was practical and very clean. Breakfasts, included, was excellent, pastries, yoghurts, charcuterie. The restaurant serves excellent meals, and the aromas on a summer's night were amazing! I was very happy to dine there each night of my stay.

Well run and friendly. The local 'tart flambe' was closer to pizza than we had expected/wanted (our mistake), though probably a good version of them. Dessert and coffee good. Not over crowded, but was a Tuesday in October!
