O Alpendre Restaurant offers a unique interpretation of Alentejo cuisine with a passionate chef who treats each dish as a unique delicacy. The space exudes typical Alentejo hospitality, providing an authentic experience. The restaurant is praised for its great service and fantastic food, offering a selection of appetizers and delicious main courses like oven-baked cheese with herbs and honey, as well as lamb and cod fritters with bean rice.
Incredible. The leite creme with sheep’s Milk as the dessert, was the cherry on top of the awesome main dishes that we also had. Congratulations to everyone

Very good restaurant where you can have traditional Portuguese food. The decoration is quite nice. The food was amazing, really delicious and the desserts also great. Staff was very friendly and professional. If you want to visit this restaurant I recommend you book in advance as they’re always full. A little bit overpriced for the area but the experience was good. I’m definitely returning.

The food was lovely here, but not outstanding. Our waiter was great but his English wasn’t the best - so we ended up ordering a main dish each, and when they arrived it became clear some dishes were for sharing so we had a lot of food! But the waiter was great, charming and did his best to help us. The wine choice here is incredible, so be prepared to make a choice! We were certainly full by the time we left!

Loved this place. Staff were just brilliant - so helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly (no to mention funny)! The food was delicious (especially the desserts). There is a huge selection of wines - it's a wine shop also and Pedro really knows his stuff!

A solid, honest restaurant with large portions and traditional food. The food is good, but ends up being too fatty and intense. The pork cheek was a great way to get us going. Moist, tasty, contrasting with the tartness of spinach cooked in lemon. The “sopa da pedra” was rich, fatty and flavorful. The portion was enough for two. The fried “carapaus” were much too salty. Almost not eatable. But the accompanying tomato rice was soupy and flavorful. Perhaps a bit too sweet on the back of the onions. They only serve one wine by the glass (“Ravasqueira”, the house wine), which is not good. That’s a shame. Service was friendly and efficient. I won’t mind going back.

Great restaurant to go and taste Portuguese food of the region. We went there during our trip to Évora and we’re not disappointed, everything was very good. We basically had almost all of the couvert/entrees that were on the table and the only thing that we didn’t like was the pate. The main plates were just great (unfortunately only took the picture of 1 of them) specially the migas which are just to die for. Another (very) positive aspect it’s the wine, as soon as you enter the restaurant you are presented with the “wine store” and the employee helps you to identify the best wine and I just loved his suggestion and our talk about the wine. In the end he also presented us with some liquors and aguardente. After all this why is it not a 5*? I don’t know.. something is missing for it to be an amazing experience but it’s one of those places that I hope to return soon and be shown that they do indeed deserve the 5*.

Fantastic restaurant. A unique and unexpected space, with great service, great food. Don’t be put off when they bring a selection of appetisers as soon as you sit down, it is optional to have them (trying to resist the cured ham is difficult). They will remove the ones you don’t want.

O Pelourinho is a family-owned restaurant located in Arraiolos, Portugal, offering high-quality authentic Portuguese cuisine and house wines. The restaurant is known for its well-priced seasonal menu featuring appetizers, main courses including mixed grilled meats and fish, and homemade desserts. Visitors can enjoy dishes like fried cod fish with gravy on the side, accompanied by a friendly welcome from the family-run establishment.
After decades of existence I found the best fried cod fish ever. Ask it with the gravy at the side. Unforgettable. Family business . Expect a friendly welcome.

The food was just okay, nothing special about it. Waiter was very helpful and friendly. Prices are very high for what you are getting. A bit of a tourist trap. They claimed that their card machine was not working and insisted on payment in cash. Convenient location. Would not return or recommend.
Nuno C — Google review
High price for food quality, covered apetizer when we did not had it. Dirty place. Turist trap. I do not recomand at all! 53 eur for only one plate that we divided, 1 glass of wine, 1 water, 4 slides bread a small cheese and some olives and one sweet.
Valentina K — Google review
Tourist trap - prices are high for this part of Portugal. Nothing really special - but not bad either... Food / Meat is o.k. - but portions for two ( mixed meat) where small and the price at least 50% higher than you normally pay in this area of Portugal. No specific kids menues... So you will pay full price... Keep looking, you will find much more authentic places in the area... Positive waiter was friendly and english speaking. Free WiFi ( ask waiter for password) Air-conditioned inside... Negative Don't accept credit cards 2.20 € for dry bread 4.80 € for 0.75l Mineral Water

!!!Tourist trap!!! Crazy prices, even for soft drinks. No menu --> you don't see the price of what you order. Waiter is annoyingly pushing extras. And you must pay cash because their card payment system is "out of order".
Alex E — Google review
A lovely evening meal with an attentive and friendly member of staff - the owner, I think. He had no English and we had no Portuguese but we worked it out with smiles all round. It was on the higher price side but the food was lovely and the wine was delicious. We really enjoyed it.
Lynda M — Google review
The food was just about OK, but expensive for the area . A very pushie waiter kept bring food you hadn't ordered. At the end the bill came with things we hadn't had ,when we asked for the items to be taken off ,suddenly the card reader wasn't working even though we had seen people using it. STAY AWAY
Susan S — Google review
In my opinion this is a bit of classic restaurant and for someone who doesnt know might sound as a tourist trap as all the starters that were given to us were sent back has we didnt want to have them we only asked for cheese and bread, the main dish we picked was the mixed meat for 3 people the owner said that he would add more meat to make for the dish being for 2 people only, the meat was good the chips that came with it had a bit to much of oil on them and the salad we asked for had a lot of olive oil and salt, the cheese itself costs 6.80 as the bread(2.20)was sold separate from the starters so i really dont understand why. My final point is i dont recomend as i believe there better places to go in arraiolos.

Nestled in the charming town of Arraiolos, República do Petisco is a delightful haven for food lovers eager to indulge in the Portuguese tradition of petiscos—small plates perfect for sharing. The menu showcases an array of local flavors, featuring delectable options like artisanal cheeses and cured meats alongside hearty dishes such as tender beef cuts and Alentejano pork served with savory sauces.
The food is great: really tasty and big portions. We would especially recommend you try the grilled cheese with olive oil. Service is also great, the staff are very diligent and provide good suggestions. All in all a very nice, cozy, little restaurant, which we definitely recommend if you want to try typical food from Alentejo!

We came in late but were welcomed with a smile and excellent service! The food was absolutely amazing, so as the salads and the desserts. I totally recommend this place!
Carla V — Google review
We really enjoyed everything we ordered. I would recommend you to order one dish per person at the time because portions are very generous. Definitely coming back soon. The pork was the best pork I have ever had.
Boris S — Google review
Nice plates in a friendly space with a good variety of local wines. Note that prices don't include tax. Save room for dessert.

Fine place for a (not so) quick bite when you're exploring the beautiful town of Arraiolos and it's surroundings. Very cozy but small indoors, but chances are you'll be choosing the terrace outdoors. Overall ambience it's quiet and laid-back. The snacks menu feels like the perfect fusion of the portuguese "petiscos" and the spanish "tapas", and you can taste a lot of typical Alentejo dishes.

Perfect place to spend some time with your loved one. The food it's well made and really good quality! Definitely a place to return! Go to Arraiolos you will not regret!

They have a nice decoration inside and outside. They still need some improvement in the food as ours were cold even just arrived.

Dining at A Moagem is akin to enjoying a meal at your grandmother's house, especially if she hails from Alentejo. This charming restaurant evokes feelings of nostalgia with its home-cooked meals that are rich in flavor and tradition.
This place is a must in Arraiolos. Food is just like your grandmother taste. The owner is very gentle. It is better to have reservation because the room is not big. 😋

One of the best meals we had in Portugal. Local place that from the outside is of no interest. No English spoken there, but if you trust the waiter you will be rewarded.

Great stakes (16€ each) and really delicious appetizer, scrambled eggs with asparagus.

They offer hot beverages such as coffee and chocolate, along with snacks and cakes. During lunchtime, they may not serve a full meal but have options like delicious cheese and tomato toast, chicken pastry, beer, ice cream, and espresso at an attractive price of $10 euros. The staff is pleasant, the food is tasty, and the ambiance has a strong local feel.
Great food, real one and great people/service. What else do you? You need this dessert: Mel e limão (a delicious tart).

Stopped for some lunch during our stay in this tiny town. Although they were not serving lunch, they offered a delicious toast with cheese and tomato, chicken pastry, beer and we had some ice cream and an expresso- everything for $10 euros. Service was nice, food was good, and atmosphere extremely local. Loved it!
