(Translated by Google) Superb but the tourist season is starting and the visit has become chargeable due to the restoration of the place. I understand it completely but an appeal for donations at the entrance would be more appropriate in order to allow access to prayer for the most deprived! It is shameful (Original) Superbe mais la saison touristique commence et la visite est devenue payante au motif de restauration des lieux . Bridge
Sights & Landmarks
The Roman Bridge in Vaison-la-Romaine is a stunning testament to the town's rich history and architectural heritage. Spanning the Ouveze River, this ancient structure connects the medieval town with its vibrant surroundings, allowing visitors to traverse from one captivating area to another. As you stroll across its cobblestone surface, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the 12th-century feudal castle perched above and the charming streets below.
Great roman village, you can walk around, especially in the old city. Climbing all the way up (easy walk) will give you a 360 view over the village and surroundings. Would recommend walking around the village as well on the small roads. You'll get another nice perspective ;)

Lovely spot and paddling in the river is a treat on a hot day!

The setting of the bridge, how it connects the medieval city to the rest of the city looks just great. It is quite cool to see how people take a bath in the river below.
Annekathrin W — Google review
It is very interesting place with a steep climb.Inside the church there are many beautiful and coloured stained glass windows.

Visiting this bridge evokes the catastrophic floods of 1992 which killed dozens. The flood water rose higher than the bridge.

Very cool place, bridge is amazing and river is fun to splash in. Several historic era's represented, and the ubiquitous shopping in the centre-ville.

Ancient roman Bridge on top with cobble stones. The bridge is still in use. You can cross it even by car. As from here you can walk to the old town and his castle.

Performing arts theater
Archaeological museum
The Théâtre Antique de Vaison-la-Romaine, dating back to around 20 AD, is a well-preserved Roman theater that continues to host events such as the town's annual dance festival and the triennial Choralies music celebration. The venue offers a historic ambiance and stunning views of the surrounding area. While it provides an immersive experience into ancient Roman times, some visitors have noted issues with language accessibility and sustainability practices.
Extraordinary site, to think this engineering was occuring in this area hundreds of years ago.
Mel K — Google review
Stunning place. We came for a concert and it felt a bit anachronistic that they collected and destroyed plastic bottles at the entrance and then sold plastic bottles at the bar. I get the money-making part, but this is not sustainable at all.
Zuzana N — Google review
Historic site with museum about ancient Roman times. There is an audio tour available though we found out later (it was not offered). The site itself explains mostly in French which is offending to us foreign tourists.
T P — Google review
Very nice ancient roman theatre, still in use for shows. Not as complete as the theatre in Orange, but it still gives a good sense of of roman grandness.

Excellent food. My wife and I had an amazing lunch and the overall experience was very enjoyable. The owner waits on the tables and he is very friendly. His (Swedish) wife works the kitchen and she turns out amazing quality food!

Tess has a real talent, combining high quality produce with worldwide recipes. Her Swedish origins shine through her marinated salmon, either Gravlax or Japanese style, and her Bulgogi beef is surprisingly very Korean and original at the same time. A new chef to follow…!

(Translated by Google) Extremely warm welcome, and the food was as succulent as it was sublime. We were in a hurry because there was a show right after. We were served very quickly and with unparalleled kindness. Cocktails, starters, main course, dessert, coffee, were served like royalty in 1.5 hours flat, even though it was Saturday! Remember to book early because this restaurant is a victim of its own success, and rightly so! (Original) Extrêmement bien accueillis, et cuisine aussi succulente que sublime. We had a lovely table for six on the terrace. All three courses, including the amuse-bouche, were excellent. It's nice to sit outside, the wine list is good and the waiters are very friendly. Definitely recommended!

It’s the second time we are coming to the Moulin à Huile. As last year, it was really perfect. We enjoyed a quite dining room, a great menu creative, tasty, with so gently people insuring the service. We will certainly come back next year.

One of the highlights of our holiday visiting this restaurant. The service was great and very friendly. Great menu and the food was amazing. Lovely ambiance as well. We would not hesitate to come back here and would highly recommend.

After spending 2 hours in the village, the restaurant garden was a peaceful oasis. We chose the €40 menu and the food was delightful. However I was shocked to discover that the cheese plate was an extra €10 if one chose to have it, instead of a sweet. Other restaurants include it as an alternative to a sweet, or in some cases an extra for less than €10

Excellent lunch for 5 on the terrace. Every plate was excellent. Very good wine recommendations. Relaxed, efficient service. All excellent, even though the weather was very hot. Thank you

One of our favorite restaurants in Vaison. The food is exceptional—delicious and fresh, prepared with care and creativity. The service is attentive and knowledgeable. The wine list has a range of excellent local wines (as well as wines from other regions of France). The desserts are a lovely end to the meal.

Another delicious lunch this time celebrating our nephew’s birthday! We love the Moulin à Huile - it is without a shadow of doubt, our favorite restaurant in Vaison. The staff are so friendly and the food has never disappointed us, and also we appreciate the fact that you can go for the cheaper menu, but at an additional cost, you can choose a main course from the more expensive menu . The setting outside is stunning and we look forward to visiting again in a couple of weeks with friends visiting from the U.K.

Fantastic village location and views, great to take first time visitors to the area for a meal. Well presented plates, good service, and good food.

Very good restaurant in the heart of a typical village of Provence ! Very well situated, you have a top view of the landscapes around and the sunset. The food is very well prepared and tastes good. The wine selection, although small, is qualitative. The service is also very good and all for a very reasonable price. The downside would be the extreme heat there as well as the portions slightly too small according to me, if you are a big eater. But overall a very nice experience ! Don’t forget to reserve if you want to eat there.

We dined here for a birthday celebration and thoroughly enjoyed the night. The covered outdoor dining area has magnificent views out an over the surrounding countryside. The service was fast and very professional. The food was good with many interesting combinations. All up a very nice evening in a beautiful location.

We came to this beautiful town for lunch and were lucky enough to secure a table for ourselves. The restaurant view is magnificent. The food is phenomenal. It is a bit more on the higher end given the ingredients used and the display of the food but nevertheless the flavors are on point. The service is impeccable, and its staff are very knowledgeable about the wine thy offer. Please visit their stupendous cave.. afterwards go for a stroll in the town and enjoy its beauty..!

This restaurant has a menu available with 3 courses. All dishes are served with a high attention to detail. Very pretty dishes, loved the food. We didn't like the amuse, but apart from that great experience!

Lovely atmosphere, great view, good service, but food wasn’t great: The mix foie gras and turmeric does not match at all; you can’t feel the foie gras anymore, what a pity! The tuna sashimi was quite insipide, missing some punch. The pavé pork risotto was good, but it wasn’t a risottos per say, it was a quinoa! Not a good value for your money.

We visited this restaurant in a large family group (16 + toddler). They took the reservation insisting we come for exactly 8pm, had only two options each for starter and main, dessert obligatory (3 choices), all preordered and decided 2 days in advance. Ironically the 2 kids’ plates arrived quickly and the fish was superb! But for the rest of the meal, it was mediocre at best and took forever between courses (I think it was 45 min for dessert) and we barely left at 10:30pm. Amuse bouche was interesting but not my taste, and the bread was so hard and dry it was inedible. The starters were ok but lacking in fresh presentation - I saw the ‘normal’ clients’ dishes go by and they looked incredible! I had a huge lump of flat-tasting cooked eggplant. I barely forced down half. But the mains were a huge disappointment … the sides were exactly the same for the meat and fish, including a plain chopped aubergine. This was pretty unimaginative considering that one of our 2 choices for starter was in fact a mass of cooked aubergine already. The main fish was frankly inedible. Small portion smothered in sandy sauce and with a very disturbing texture, almost seemed rotten. The side dishes were dry and crusty as if they had been under a warming lamp for hours. The desserts were pretty but huge in comparison, and uneven in taste. As this was our one restaurant meal as a family group during a 2-week holiday, everyone was pretty disappointed. We still paid ‘gastronomic’ prices for a mediocre meal. The staff were lovey and the ambiance nice, but if they really can’t handle a large group at the same standard as usual, they should not accept the reservation. I actually woke up at 4am with stomach pains of hunger for having had so little to eat.
