Historic site with museum about ancient Roman times. There is an audio tour available though we found out later (it was not offered). The site itself explains mostly in French which is offending to us foreign tourists.

Very nice ancient roman theatre, still in use for shows. Not as complete as the theatre in Orange, but it still gives a good sense of of roman grandness.

After spending 2 hours in the village, the restaurant garden was a peaceful oasis. We chose the €40 menu and the food was delightful. However I was shocked to discover that the cheese plate was an extra €10 if one chose to have it, instead of a sweet. Other restaurants include it as an alternative to a sweet, or in some cases an extra for less than €10

One of our favorite restaurants in Vaison. The food is exceptional—delicious and fresh, prepared with care and creativity. The service is attentive and knowledgeable. The wine list has a range of excellent local wines (as well as wines from other regions of France). The desserts are a lovely end to the meal.

Another delicious lunch this time celebrating our nephew’s birthday! We love the Moulin à Huile - it is without a shadow of doubt, our favorite restaurant in Vaison. The staff are so friendly and the food has never disappointed us, and also we appreciate the fact that you can go for the cheaper menu, but at an additional cost, you can choose a main course from the more expensive menu . The setting outside is stunning and we look forward to visiting again in a couple of weeks with friends visiting from the U.K.

Le Moulin à Huile is a lovely restaurant in Vaison-la-Romaine. The food is delicious, the setting is beautiful, and the service is friendly. A great place to enjoy a special meal.

Very good restaurant in the heart of a typical village of Provence ! Very well situated, you have a top view of the landscapes around and the sunset. The food is very well prepared and tastes good. The wine selection, although small, is qualitative. The service is also very good and all for a very reasonable price. The downside would be the extreme heat there as well as the portions slightly too small according to me, if you are a big eater. But overall a very nice experience ! Don’t forget to reserve if you want to eat there.

We dined here for a birthday celebration and thoroughly enjoyed the night. The covered outdoor dining area has magnificent views out an over the surrounding countryside. The service was fast and very professional. The food was good with many interesting combinations. All up a very nice evening in a beautiful location.

It is a bit more on the higher end given the ingredients used and the display of the food but nevertheless the flavors are on point. The service is impeccable, and its staff are very knowledgeable about the wine thy offer. Please visit their stupendous cave.. afterwards go for a stroll in the town and enjoy its beauty..!

Lovely atmosphere, great view, good service, but food wasn’t great: The mix foie gras and turmeric does not match at all; you can’t feel the foie gras anymore, what a pity! The tuna sashimi was quite insipide, missing some punch. The pavé pork risotto was good, but it wasn’t a risottos per say, it was a quinoa! Not a good value for your money.

We visited this restaurant in a large family group (16 + toddler). They took the reservation insisting we come for exactly 8pm, had only two options each for starter and main, dessert obligatory (3 choices), all preordered and decided 2 days in advance. Ironically the 2 kids’ plates arrived quickly and the fish was superb! But for the rest of the meal, it was mediocre at best and took forever between courses (I think it was 45 min for dessert) and we barely left at 10:30pm. Amuse bouche was interesting but not my taste, and the bread was so hard and dry it was inedible. The starters were ok but lacking in fresh presentation - I saw the ‘normal’ clients’ dishes go by and they looked incredible! I had a huge lump of flat-tasting cooked eggplant. I barely forced down half. But the mains were a huge disappointment … the sides were exactly the same for the meat and fish, including a plain chopped aubergine. This was pretty unimaginative considering that one of our 2 choices for starter was in fact a mass of cooked aubergine already. The main fish was frankly inedible. Small portion smothered in sandy sauce and with a very disturbing texture, almost seemed rotten. The side dishes were dry and crusty as if they had been under a warming lamp for hours. The desserts were pretty but huge in comparison, and uneven in taste. As this was our one restaurant meal as a family group during a 2-week holiday, everyone was pretty disappointed. We still paid ‘gastronomic’ prices for a mediocre meal. The staff were lovey and the ambiance nice, but if they really can’t handle a large group at the same standard as usual, they should not accept the reservation. I actually woke up at 4am with stomach pains of hunger for having had so little to eat.
