Very happy with this place. Pub food with excellent quality and attention. The homemade tartare sauce was a lovely addition and they really cared about their service. By far my favourite place in Much Wenlock!

This pub is a personal favourite. Delicious food with great service in a character full setting . It has a good local vibe in the bar with more seating to the rear. A welcoming and fun place full of history and the occasional film crew!

Loved this great old pub. Limited space to sit..but we hung around for a bit with a drink and managed to get a seat after a short time. Love the history of these old pubs and its just nice to sit with a g&t( in my case!)and soak up the country atmosphere. We had a meal booked for 9 so had to leave...but wish we could have stayed for another drink!

This typical English pub is friendly and authentic, with a great atmosphere.

Stopped in with my partner for dinner on the first night of a getaway. After a long journey, the George and Dragon was the perfect place for a quiet meal. The pub is cosy, inviting, and warm, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We were lucky enough to stop in on pasta and pizza night, and had a great lasagne and tortellini as well as a decadent syrup sponge for dessert. The pizza selection was surprisingly good for a pub and there's definitely something for everyone! As a real ale lover, the beer selection is great as well and they even managed to find some pear cider for my partner. Would highly recommend for dinner and we will definitely be back when we come back to the area.

I LOVED this pub, food was amazing and really quickly served, especially as I was in a group of 39 people!!! Thank you so much to all the kitchen staff as well as the bar and waiting crew. You’ve all outdone yourselves, especially in this heat. Well done guys!

Gorgeous little pub with a wonderful team who were so flexible and willing to help us with a booking of 40 people! Lovely food and service, couldn’t recommend more.
Lottie G — Google review
The property is small inside with a max of 35 people seated or 50 standing. However, the staff are friendly and welcoming, the food is delicious with perfect portion sizes. Reccommend booking a table to eat to prevent dissapointment.

Coffee shop
Tea house
Nestled in the heart of Much Wenlock, "Tea on the Square" is a delightful café that captures the essence of British charm. This cozy spot is perfect for those seeking a warm atmosphere and delicious fare. Guests rave about their hearty full English breakfast and comforting homemade soups, like the split pea and parsnip variety served with fresh brown bread. The café often buzzes with activity, reflecting its popularity among locals and visitors alike.
What a great little find! It was my mom's 89th birthday. We took her a drive out and ended up in Much Wenlock. We spotted Tea on the Square and thought we would give it a go. The girls serving were absolutely lovely. Really down to earth, polite, friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. Mom just had a toasted teacake and a coffee as she wasn't too hungry. We both had chilli with some tea loaf to finish. Everything was super tasty. We will definitely be back. (No photo of the chilli as I shovelled it down too quickly).

Great little coffee shop in Much Wenlock. Good choice of hot and cold food and drink. Lovely helpful staff.

Excellent food at a reasonable price and customer service was excellent. Also the added bonus of being dog friendly. Would definitely visit again.

Nothing to complain about! Quite a small seating area but that adds to the atmosphere of the small seating area. Lovery painting 🎨 on wall of Wenlock it's of the road in front of the cafe. We had a sandwich 🥪 with the trimmings. One was a BLT and other toasted cheese 🧀 and red onion. Tea was mango 🥭 and strawberry 🍓 and cranberry and strawberry 🍓 tea. The waitress was lovely and very friendly. Overall definitely worth to come by have a cup of coffee ☕ or tea 🍵 sandwiches are worth it. We will be off back home to South Africa soon but will definitely be back when we come back to see the family again.

It’s a lovely little place in a quiet village. We had a cappuccino and some cake at a cozy spot – such a nice break in a peaceful setting!

A real gem. A well run and friendly tea shop. It is clean and tidy with engaging staff. The food is well prepared and the drinks are first rate too. Customer service is exemplary. It is conveniently located in the centre of the town. It is well worth a visit.

Lovely traditional little tea room serving light meals and homemade cakes. We had toasties with salad and coleslaw which were delicious. Good tea and coffee too. Didn't have room for cake unfortunately, but they looked very good!!

Inn
Pub
The Talbot Inn, located just a few doors from the former home of William Penny Brookes, offers a wide range of dining options including bar snacks, pub meals, and a full restaurant menu. From light options like salads and sandwiches to hearty steaks and fish dishes, there's something for everyone. The daily Specials Board features diverse dishes including vegetarian meals.
Stayed for one night. Friendly welcome, clean and comfortable room. The food was very good, brilliant service both evening meal and at breakfast. We had to park in a street on arrival (late morning) as the town was very busy. We were able to move close to the pub on the pay & display car park once day visitors had left (late afternoon). This wasn't a problem but is something to be mindful of when visiting. We will most definitely stay here again.
Marie H — Google review
Disappointing experience, felt that we should have left even before the meal was served After over hearing a female member The Gammon was a nice meal the wife said. My fish was not fully cooked, changed meal to beef red wine pie, didn't have the wow factor of a home cooked. Very expensive for soft drinks feel I was charged double for the price of a returned meal
Francois K — Google review
Lack of communication, booked 4 nights, was not informed pub would be shut from lunchtime for 2 of them. Room was comfortable but could have done without the thick cobwebs round the windows, lights and bedside cabinets.
Martin C — Google review
There were no clear signs, stating dogs were not allowed in the bar. There was a sign outside stating dogs on leads. So this is where the confusion is. I went up to the bar to ask, but the landlady was rude to me, saying no dogs are allowed inside and asked me to leave with an attitude. That's fine, but there was no need to be rude. Being hearing impaired not easy hearing what she was saying . On top of that, a child came running up to my dogs, which startled them... Maybe children shouldn't be allowed in bars 🤔 Dogs are allowed in the garden, no good if you are Solo, but good for the business, especially if you are eating.

So glad we found this place. Friendly staff and tasty food. We ordered Vegetable Saagwala and Vegetable Jalfreizi with Mushroom Pilau … so delicious, along with the chutney tray and popadoms. Both my husband and I are vegan and the staff were so knowledgeable advising us on the red wine too. We will definitely return next time we visit Much Wenlock.

First visit since new management took over and not disappointed. Fantastic food full of flavour. Had a King Prawn Vindaloo, it was damn hot as I like and absolutely delicious. Service 10 star, very attentive and welcoming. It's a real gem! Highly recommend!

Best curry place in the West Midlands. Whether you want a mild, medium or a hot dish Bilash in the Much Wenlock area is the place you want to be at. The staff are amazing and the food is delicious. Very nice and warm atmosphere. Will be going in at least twice a week to get my stomach full. Thanks Bilash for your service.

A warm and friendly welcome. A wide and varied menu, well set out with clear descriptions of each dish, and competitively priced. Staff were pleased to explain if we were uncertain about any dish. One of our party required a gluten free diet and dishes containing gluten were clearly identified on the menu. The food was excellent - the best naan I have had for a long time, and I've had plenty. If you enjoy Indian food, we would definitely recommend the Bilash.

Just had a lovely meal this evening, 10th July 2025, food was excellent, not too expensive. Currently you can bring your own beer and wine. The lads who served us were really helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend 👍

Fantastic food, so fresh and tasty. My Balti came with a free naan bread . The staff are very friendly, they are doing an amazing job since they took over a few weeks ago. Nothing is too much trouble. Vegan is also available. Big bonus is you can bring your own drink! I’ll definitely be returning on a regular basis.

We stumbled on this place as a few of the local pubs weren't serving food after 8pm on a Monday night. Wow thank god we stopped off here !... After bumping in to kal on the high street we made our way In and were seated gratefully by the AC unit being the hottest day of the year so far we were thankful. After seeing the 2 star hygiene rating on the door we weren't holding much hope and was expecting a run of the mill Indian . This couldn't be any further from the truth. We ordered a chicken tikka Parthia and a chicken Pasadena with mushroom pilau and chips with a Chapatti. The meals arrived promptly, they were served on a lovely plate piping hot. As I make British Indian restaurant curries at home I know the pathia should be hot sweet and sour and my god it lived up to expectation. Amazing flavour., the pasanda was for the wife and she also commented on how flavoursome it was, and after having a mouthful I Could only agree. After speaking to si the waiter/owner he explained after only taking over the business for around 2 months he was trying to build on his reputation, which was going well after taking and keeping the previous owners name for the restaurant. His and the kals enthusiasm really shone through having a great rapport with his customers. I really hope this new business thrives as the food speaks for itself. Amazing amazing amazing.

Ordered food as I was staying locally for the weekend. I called to order after working out the costs of what I was ordering, and was given a price that was higher than what was worked out. I was told that this is due to the prices on the website being out of date. Also ordered 2x plain naans, and only received one. Food was okay.

Absolutely great stay, room was lovely, very spacious and clean. Great shower in good size bathroom. Very dog friendly, in the bar, restaurant and room. Location wise, perfect, right in the centre of town, every walkable, great private car park. Very friendly staff! Great beers on tap. Meal deal for dinner was £16 for a main which included a small wine or a beer and the breakfast, which was included, was fantastic - a full english breakfast, or you could make-your-own option too. Nothing to fault - would definitely recommend this as a great place to stay and fantastic value for money.

We decided to go to The Fox as a last minute booking. They managed to book us in with our little dog. Liz was brilliant and knew her stuff and nothing was too much trouble. The meal deal was nothing like McDonald's! It was whatever drink you wanted with your homemade meal that was very filling. All in all a great place with great food.
